Thank you, thank you. Technically, I’m not thirteen until about ten o’clock. I’m very precise about these things. I got a new journal, some candy, a movie pass, some popcorn, SEA MONKEYS, and a shirt. I also got FUDGE. FUDGE!!! Yeah! And lots of books, including the new harry potter book. (Better get started on the fifth book. xD) And some new manga: Yotsuba and one about this girl who loves dogs which I haven’t read yet.

Since i’m now an ancient, withered crone of sixteen years, I’ll say a tiny, strained hello in my old, old voice, long weathered by years of smoking discarded Marlboros. You can barely hear me, since I’m speaking through my trusty respirator, which I’ve had ever since my tracheotomy.

53- I like the poem, where is it from/did you write it?
It’s an Irish folksong called “She Moved Through the Fair,” about a man whose dead sweetheart comes back as a ghost. Some of the musicians on the blog may know it. The spooky theme seemed appropriate for Morbid.
(62, 63) I sang it in my college voice recital. It’s one of my favorites, except the recordings I’ve heard overplay the drama and stretch out the tempo way too much.
For me it seems more effective when sung simply as a folk song. Then the meaning sneaks up on you like the apparition it describes rather than assaulting you with all the advance marketing.
