My cousins are triplets, and my brother’s best friend is an identical quadruplet, but that’s basically all that I know of. I know zillions of twins, though.
I don’t know to many. The two that come tom mind are idiots and I do not like them. Meh. Though I suppose S’s siblings are twins, even if not identical. Or maybe they are. Well, they migt not be but there’s a strong resemblence between all the siblings, not just them.
two of my good friends are twins. I’m not sure if they are identical or fraternal. (they are both girls twin) and I have some other friends who are twins (both boys, fraternal)
I met a pair of twins a couple of days ago. My sister refused to believe that they were identical because they had different haircuts and one of them had braces.
I’m not a twin, but there’s a bunch at my school. Now that I think about it, there aren’t any twins in my extended family, either. I’vfe also met some fraternal triplets.
Is there a word for twins, triplets, quadruplets, and so on in general? Other than people-who-were-born-together?
9- thats really funny!!! by the way if you say a pair of twins, you are saying you met two different sets of twins. i think. you know im not sure. this is really sad sinci i have a twin….
WOW! that was fast! but what else would one expect from the GAPAs’? Thanks, you guys are amazing!
I’m a twin. my biggest petpeeve is when I tell people I have a twin brother and the first thing they say is either “Wow! are you identical?” or “Cool! do you look alike.” the answer to both questions is no. let me just clear this up: boy-girl twins can not be identical, only freternal. you’d be suprised how many poeple think that’s true. when we were little people would ask my mom: “Are they real twins?” my mom always wanted to say “well, Kagy’s real but Harrison’s only faking.” and every one thought I was a boy(“how lovely two boys”) even when I was wearing all pink…..
10- yeah he was for a while, but hes “too cool” now. he only was to make me mad, but now that we each have our own laptops, he dosn’t bother. he was known as Bobs Your Uncle.
13- do you know who is older? i’m the oldest by about an hour
14- we find out when we’re 18. i used to not realy care but now i hope it’s me because hes taller than me. grr….. ive stopped growing but we arent going to talk about that….
12- Maybe it’s like saying ‘A pair of scissors.’ That’s the correct grammer, and it still means just one, but it’s a plural with an adjective that makes it plural again. Ish.
13- “Kagy’s real but Harrison’s only faking.” Hahaha!
15- oh. why wont they tell you- is it to prevent fights???? i bet my parents wish they hadnt told me because tyler (thats his name by the way) is always trying to skip out of his chores because he’s “younger”
on older twins, my close friend who is also friends with the set of twins I know who are both girls made me guess which twin was older recently as she (my close friend) had just found out. It was odd, though, as I was able to guess correctly. The older twin just *seemed* older, I’m not sure why. She just acts like an oldest child, I guess? and her sister acts younger? odd.
There’s a lot of twins at my school. There’s also triplets, two look alike but the other one is totally different. People always used to think my sister and I were twins. I’m 2 years older. We have different hair now so people don’t mess us up. Once at her birthday party one of her best friends thought I was her. I used to be taller, but now we’re the same height so people think we’re twins more often, since I’m not taller anymore. It gets pretty annoying. My friend Tommy has an obsession with twins. It’s…interesting.
People always think my two younger brothers are twins. They’re two year apart. It’s only because my mom dresses them alike so if we lose one, we can give an accurate description of what he’s wearing.
I am not a twin, so I don’t know what to do on this thread. Wouldn’t being a twin get confusing? You would have someone look exactly like you! It would be like having a walking mirror.
There are triplets in the grade above me. Megan, Lindsey, and Matt. Megan and Lindsey are almost identical, but Megan has braces and a smaller nose.
Last year at camp there was a girl named Rachel in my cabin. She said she had a twin and showed her to me but I didn’t believe it because Arielle (the twin) was about three inches taller and had straighter, lighter hair than Rachel. But they were twins!
I always wanted to be a twin, I’m not.
I used to know a set of twins who were so identical that if they switched clothes, which they often did, their mom would have to really look to see who was who. it was interesting, they were about 5 or so, but they didn’t talk to anyone, they just communicated with each other nonverbally. it was almost scary, how much they seemed to understand each other.
A question for twins: can you, um how can I put it, read each other’s minds? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
27 – That’s definitely not a stupid question. Identical twins, but not usually fraternal twins, can sometimes have the same dreams, sense when the other is angry or upset, for example, stuff like that. One of my teachers has daughters who are identical twins. One of them grew her hair out so that people would be able to tell the difference more easily, but their faces are actually kind of different. Anyway, they have the same dreams a lot.
I used to think that boys and girls could be identical, but then I realized they couldn’t. Eh. They can look similar, though, the same as how siblings can look alike. Of course, I don’t actually know any fraternal twins. Actually, I do. Except they’re more like fraternal quadruplets. Two identical girls, two identical boys. NATURAL QUADRUPLETS. Gah! Well, anyway, they look extremely similar.
There are these awesome identical boys who used to go to my school. They were really easy to tell apart – one was a bit taller, one of them had a longer face, one was into origami, the other was not, they were totally different. But still identical. They were cool.
My grandfather was a fraternal twin. He was more of a quiet person whereas his twin was outgoing.
there are two twins my age called Lysette and Lynette, who are nearly impossible to distinguish.
Oh, yeah last year when i took ballet and jazz i had two seperate dance photos, both of which my grandmother displayed. everyone thought i was a twin! My parents told me that If i had been an identical twin, my sister would have been named margot.

If Pan were my twin, that would be awesome. We get along so well anyway, and if we were identical and the same age, even better!
There are pretty much no twins of any kind in our family except our triplet cousins, all fraternal, which doesn’t make sense, but we think that it’s because of drugs so we don’t think it counts. I think that’s it… maybe my Grandpa has some odd relation that’s a twin. But no more that I know of, anyway.

Volanti of Phanland, trying out a thoroughly odd name (THF) says:
Sorry for the double post, but I may have been named Rebecca Mary (Rebecca because they liked it, Mary because it’s my mom’s name). So if I had an identical twin, that probably would have been her name. If I had a fraternal twin, he would be Jacob David (maybe – definitely Jacob, maybe David).
25- there are non identical twins out there!!!!! *coughmecough*
27-no, well i cant anyways, which is good because my twin is a teenage boy…… probably some creepy thoughts in there….
my family is FUUUUULLLLLL of twins, loads of my irish relatives are twins.
My grandmother is a triplet-Felice, Gladys and Eunice. They’re 3 identical little old ladies. Hilarious. (Okay, I think so.) The tennis instructors at camp are identical Australian twins–tall, blonde, athletic, etc. Their names are Cambi and Cammi.
I have three pairs of male twins in my family. My mom’s sister has eight-year-old twin boys who we think are identical but they never actually tested it (they were originally triplets but one was lost early on in the pregnancy, and I have to say, two of them is enough. I remember when my aunt told me she was having ANOTHER baby. My response was “why?!”). Her cousin has two-year-old twin boys who are pretty clearly fraternal. Her other cousin has one-year-old twin boys who are obviously fraternal (different colour hair and eyes and everything). The last pair were most likely because of some kind of fertility treatment though.
Two of my best friends are twins. I forget if they’re fraternal or identical. They look pretty similar but we (being me and their other friends) (and obviously their family) can tell them apart.
There was a girl in middle school who looked a lot like me. Her name was Lynn. Her mom was a substitute teacher, and I can’t say how many times I hear “Hey, I had your mom for a sub today!” ONe drama club meeting I even introduced myself as “Not-Lynn-D’s-Sister.”
when me & my bro were three weeks old this woman came up to our mother and said: “Twiiins how cuuute! how old are they?” and my mom told her and she said “have you noticed? do they speak in a secret code? and comunicate specialy?” honestly! we were only 3 weeks old, like my mom would have noticed THEN!
I think that in general I don’t notice if people are twins or not. And judging by what people say, they don’t want to be noticed as something special because it really isn’t very different. True enough?
My brother and I look a lot alike, and his hair was long/mine was short, so we looked like twins for a little while. Everybody thought we were, even though I’m about 2 years older. But now I finally got a growth spurt so I’m a couple inches taller.
There are two pairs of twins in my grade. The first pair seem to be identical, but you can tell them apart because one of them is slightly nicer-looking, and they wear their hair differently. The other pair… I’m not sure.

Never been one and never will be.

“I’vfe”? Where did that come from? I meant “I’ve”.

18- yeah pretty much
I know a good amount of twins. Most are identical. Why don’t we talk about Pavarti and Pandma Patil?
20- lets not talk about twins whose names start with the same letter….

I my sister was a twin except that my mom lost it during pregnancy. Which means that twinness would be fairly likely if my sister ever has a kid.
27- I believe that’s called twin telepathy, and it has been reported with many pairs of twins, some more than others.
My grandfather was a fraternal twin. He was more of a quiet person whereas his twin was outgoing.

My sibs are twins (boy-girl) They look really similar to eachother, very different from me.
Kagy- My mom gets those stupid questions too. Her favorite answer? “Yes, they are identical.”

i dont think i really have a chance of being a twin anyore…
wait… what?!?!
i know some twins, they used to look exactly alike but now they are totally different! except i still mix up thier names…..
when me & my bro were three weeks old this woman came up to our mother and said: “Twiiins how cuuute! how old are they?” and my mom told her and she said “have you noticed? do they speak in a secret code? and comunicate specialy?” honestly! we were only 3 weeks old, like my mom would have noticed THEN!
Oooh, telepathy. That would be strange. If you were in the same class, you would raise your hand at the same time!
Red-tailed HAWK

That’s creepy. Are twins awesome!
42- we don’t actualy have telepathy. i don’t believe that any twins have telepathy. me and my bro have been oging top different schools since gr.4
43- it’s exactly the same as having a brother younger than me.

My younger brothers are fraternal twins. While they are closer to each other, we enjoy a better than adverage sibling relationship.
