  11. Some names are more ambiguous than others. “SudoRandom,” for example, gives no clue about whether its owner is a boy or a girl; “bookgirl_me” does. Sometimes it takes us a while to get around to posting a symbol next to a newcomer’s name, and sometimes we don’t know.

  88. Perhaps a spreadsheet document could allow all of our fancies to be realized more easily–it would automatically sort by name or date, name changes could be easily seen, it would be nicely organized.

        1. Wow, that’s really neat. I’m sure you put much more work into it than it appears, but to me it looks like you just pressed a few buttons and it was finished.
          You probably had a much better way of doing this, of course, mine was really basic and extremely irritating.

          1. The original list was, actually, pressing a few buttons over and over and over again. I copied “Who’s Here” into Excel and just fixed the dates. For this year, I went to the neo threads and wrote down the names from there. Btw, I just realized that I slipped up on Zinc: she first posted on the 6.Nov.07, not in 2005 (typo).

As for changing the picture, simply go to gravatar.com and follow the instructions. (I’d give more specifics, but it’s been so long since I set up my own avatar that I’ve forgotten how.)
    In the meantime, I suggest that you go to the Welcome, Neophytes! thread on the main page, where you’ll get an explanation of the basics of MB. People will try to throw pies at you: it is recommended that you accept these in the spirit of good will and fellowship in which they were flung. It’s something of a tradition.

  114. hello! my name is Catwoman! i think my gravitar sucks! i will change it if i can figure out how! my friends say i am funny and imanginative and my favorite color is blue but green is my 2nd favorite color! wanna know a secret? i have an imaginary friend and we make imaginary movies together. i once tried to introduce my friends to muse by drawing a picture of Kokopelli on our fake newspaper headlines game (one of us draws a picture and we write a fake newspaper article about it) but when i told them that Kokopelli was an anchient god of the indians they didn’t believe me! they wrote as the headline “Kokopelli sad to be the god of anchient indians has been proven FAKE” that “fake” stung me like an arrow from Robin Hood! was i too forward? did i make a mistake? did i draw the picture wrong? someone tell me!!!! oh i also drew a picture of Mimi but i think i made her arms to short. ok that’s enough about my boring life! whadda you doing?

      To answer your question on another thread: Pies are for general celebration/happy/spiteful things. Like throwing a pie in someone’s face, It’s normally an exuberant occurrence. Squids are generally used for sympathy, but sometimes they can be used facetiously.
