Can we start a new section for writing the letter to Muse first suggested in Gaboomba message 187?
–D_Q
ARTICLE ON JAPAN!
-ChinTsu
Just for fun, why don’t we start a “You know you’re addicted to Muse when…” thread?
–D_Q
Just so u should know. You forgot 2 list my location as Hawaii in the H2GAB.
-The Supreme Ruler of the Insect World
P.S.Like the MMFP’s new style
I second the “you know you’re addicted to Muse when…” request. Also how come with the some HTML allowed underlineing isn’t allowed but italicizing and bolding is?
Speaking of html, i’d like it if I were allowed to make my posts hot pink again.
TOPFOT,
Here’s how to make your text hot pink: at the beginning of your message, type

only with angle brackets <> instead of the square brackets []. At the end of your message type

again with angle brackets instead of square ones.
That should “pinken” your text.
Elasse-Adael can return to her accustomed green by typing “#4CC552” instead of “#FF00FF”. (There are many other shades of green, but that one seems both pretty and readable.)
I definitely am going for the “you know you’re addicted to Muse when…” thread. Maybe there should be a “you know you’re addicted to MuseBlog when…” thread, too. This is my fourth post today!
just seeing if i can use the same thing in use on neopets
didn’t work. *goes off to check one of those charts*
TOPFOT, i just found another hot pink you might like: #FE68D1
maybe this will work?
TOPFOT,
Sorry about that. It works when I do it. (I guess there are advantages to being an Administrator, after all.) Maybe we’ll find a workaround. I’ll keep looking.
I think I shall try with that green colour that Robert suggested. Does anyone else like the word “whilst”?
I LOVE the word whilst. man!
Whilst, whilst, whilstity whilst whilst whilst…
The word whilst reminds me of the word Nihilist.
‘Nihilist Gum; We don’t believe in flavor.”
(Got that off a real pack of gum, too.)
Where is nihilist gum sold? I have to buy some of that…
May I beg for an article on anime? Or at least Japan?
Why does everyone want articles on Japan and anime all of the sudden? I think an article on Celtic myths and legends would be cool. Or an article on Fantasy. Or on VIOLINS!!! Or anything by Paul Baker^_^ Or on the development of languages. or on etc…
so if we all put together our request so far we have: Japan, anime, Celtic myths, fantasy, violins, anything by Paul Baker, development of languages.
I also think that an article on latin american culture would be cool.
The band Showbread has an album called “No Sir, Nihilism Is Not Practical,” in case you care. Pretty alright band. They have a keytar, which is cool, though they’re a little too screamy for my tastes. Some of their song titles funny, though: “Stabbing Art to Death,” “A Llama Eats a Giraffe (And Vice Versa),” and perhaps the best of all “If You Like Me Check Yes, If You Don’t I’ll Die.”
OK, if this isn’t working, ignore the html, please. I knew the html code 4 it, but it didn’t say that it was allowed on the bottom.
Ooo! Development of languages! I’M FOR IT!!!
Kokopelli#2, use brackets for html.
Hmmm… article on html-ing.. seems like we all need to learn more on it.
Well, I get the Nihilism stuff at this place called Cha Chas, but I don’t know where you could buy it elsewhere…. but since you have it, what am I talking about to begin with?
Note to self… must check out Showbread…
I like the screamies, D_Q.
how can you make your font bright blue?
is there a spell-check?
I just watched something on the HIstory channel and I now DEMAND an article on the search for Noah’s Arc. Because it was interesting, that’s why.
It’s stupid and has the wrong info. They were searching on Mt. Arrarat, but back then Arrarat was a mountain RANGE. It says HARAY Arrarat, not HAR Arrarat. Trust me on this one, even if the ark was somehow frozen to the degree that it was preserved, it would take generations to find it on one of those thousands of mountains. Honestly, I’ve been studying this since before I could walk. The story is as familiar to me as my name-more so even! The search is nonsense.
Yeah, that’s what it seemed likr when I was watching the program, what with all the conflicting stories and sightings. Still, it seemed interesting.
Although it’s likely there was a big flood in the mediteranean area around that time- many different cultures have flood stories..
See, that’s the thing with mythology- it’s not necessarily true, but it’s usually (USUALLY) based on something real..
It was certainly real! didn’t you read the Muse about it, in, oh, ’98? I’m not saying the ark isn’t there, just that, unless these people are REALLY lucky, they wont find anything.
Cam we have a thread on writing? PLEASE?
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease publish my Punk Fish!
Can we have a thread on art or school?
And when it’s December 6, maybe a thread for KitKat’s B-day?
This is about Muse, right? So why don’t we have a thread about the magazine so we can talk about how totally awesome it is? Hmmmm?
I really like the important dates page, besides the fact that hardly anyone reads it besides the administrator.
KitKat,
Good plan about a magazine thread! I’ve started one. I’ll also add your birthday to the calendar. How old will you be?
Erm…do I have to tell?
And thanks for the thread. I was wondering why we had this blog if we couldn’t talk about the magazine…(I’m just kidding. The blog was a great idea without the thread! But not it’s better…I suppose that’s what I was trying to say all along.)
I meant now not not.
Fine. I’ll tell you on the Katrina sight. I’m going to be Craw for awhile. Okay?
To: Mr. Coontz
I’ll be 11. Surprising, isn’t it?
And exactly how do you give things moderation? Is it just a profanity filter? Or does somebody actually look at it?
No filters here. We read every word. Every smiley, too.
Cool!
=)
Then you understand the unique-ness of my new+improved smiley.
How many what’s your mph (moderations per hour) speed? Basically, what I mean, is do you ever feel overwhelmed with all the moderations or do you get used to it? And is somebody helping you? You mentioned a “we” instead of a “I”.
My Q&A buddy Rosanne and I moderate the blog together, from opposite coasts. (I’m on the east coast, she’s on the west.) Our jobs keep us online a lot, and I have a little Treo that lets me approve comments while riding on subways and buses and such. How quickly comments get posted varies depending on what else we’re doing at any particular time.
That reminds me–I’d better warn everybody of an impending slowdown. (“Impending” means “coming up very soon.”)
–Robert
(I know what impending means, Mr. Coontz, but I don’t know what this means. I don’t even think it’s a word!)
What does pyrotecnotic mean?
251. mutant_hairy_thing | October 16th, 2005 at 3:41 pm
You know something? This whole website is dedicated to the Muses, but hardly anyone mentioned them!! WHAT’S UP WITH THAT?!?!?!?!?!?!? There should be a whole thread where we talk about the Muses themselves!!!
This dude wrote about wanting a thread on the Muses. Considerably, I do too. The muses are way awesome and their art
(hardware+software) founded this blog. So I really would consider adding a thread for them…even if me and the “mutant_hairy_thing” are the only ones writing on it….
Ooohh I like this cool color!
test
I was just wondering why that color HTML Code doesn’t work
And what does all this HTML do?
I was wondering if we could have a thread on unbirthdays.
Sorry I couldn’t get back to the blog for awhile.
Homework, distractions, piano lessons… sigh.
Could we perhaps have a language thread? Like where people can talk about Latin, spanish, italian, english (?why?), german, chinese, japanese, pig latin That woud be cool. Prospera cum tu! (that’s latin for ‘good fortune be with you’.
There is one. It’s called Coy Woodnesse and was very active for a while there.
I don’t know much Latin, but I do know that “peace be with you” is “pax tecum.” So I suspect that “tecum” rather than “cum tu” means “with you.” (“Tu” is nominative, no? I’ll bet most prepositions take other cases.)
I’m skating on thin ice here, though, and had better stop. Maybe PB&J knows more about it.
ah! no! not the evil latin grammar…
sry i take latin 1 and we have a test on all the endings of that nominative ablitive weird kinds of a ae os um whatever stuff. i’m going craaaaaaaaaaaazy!!!
i’m going to the books+movies now! that ancient old thread that nobody ever goes to? remember that?
Erm…where’s uspiration of Titular rights? That was a great thread, but I can’t seem to find it!
Sunstorm, KitKat’s sister, wants a thread on Science!!! What is the thread about the Magazine muse (based on science) without a thread on the subject of science?
Erm, can you please take out dreams, dates to remember, writing and usperation of titular rights out of the “previous posts” pile? Those aren’t previous posts!!!!
*cry cry cry*
KK (#58),
Muse isn’t exactly a science magazine, but we aim to please. Here’s Sunstorm’s science thread.
KK (#59),
All “previous posts” means is that there isn’t room for them on the first page of the blog. They’re still active (unless the GAPAs close them off to comments, something we do only when posts are clearly outdated). MuseBloggers can keep them alive by… keeping them alive. Do so, with our blessings!
–Robert
Yay!!! Thanks!!! Sorry to be that way, but my sister was a bit dissapointed when she saw there was no science thread.
Thanks again, Mr. Coontz.
But my sister is so wierd,
she threw a fit at me and now she doesn’t want a science thread.
But keep it anyway.
I wanna have a band thread! (please? pwetty pwetty pwease?)
ummmmmmm….. band thread? pwease?
There wouldn’t happen to be a literature thread, would there?
Bad movie thread! I know a bunch I was unwillingly forced into suffering.
There’s Books and Movies.
Oh, okay. So what’s Narnia? Just about Narnia? I thought it was the Book thread.
The Narnia thread is for talk about Narnia — the books or the movies or, I suppose, anything else relating to Narnia.
Hello again,
I posted a bulliten once before, but I don’t think it got put up. If it did, i just can’t find it. Perhaps it’s my fault though. I should have posted two bulletins. (one in requests/ideas, another in complaints) If this is boring you, please forgive me, I’m just bieng honest. Anyway, let’s get down to business. When I posted (possibly) my bulletin, I taught blogers how to talk Kokopelli-ish, and I suggested some ideas for a live action version of “Attack of the Smart Pies.” Well, I’ve come up with some more. First of all, I recently discovered, that Larry Gonick has his own offical website. If there is to be even a shred of hope that the folks at Muse central might even consider making a film of “Smart Pies,” then I would strongly recommend sending in requests directly to Larry Gonick himself. Who knows what could happen. Hundreds of readers begged for a cat article, and it took the Muse makers forever to give in, but eventually they did. If we give Larry and the Muse makers no peace, they may just grant our wishes. Speaking out, and up, is the only way to get things done. The crusade starts now.
AND NOW FOR SOME VERY IMPORTANT IDEA REGARDING KOKOPELLI:
I’ve already mentioned (or at least tried to) that I think Jim Carry should voice Kokopelli, but I forgot to share my thoughts as to the portrayal of the trickster.
1. Kokopelli should be portrayed as a shadow (made with computer effects) on the wall.
2. This would enable the filmakers to add to that whole “How did he do that?” thing. If Koko is a shadow, then he can vanish inside other shadows.
3. This would create a somewhat ominous effect. Which would be necessary considoring the way Kokopelli is portrayed in the novel. In the original comic strip, Koko is basically harmless, (obnoxious yes) but in the book, he is portrayed (perhaps unintentionally) as a bit of a villian. He is not, as one might expect, the main character of the story, and his plotting actually has a rather nasty side to it.
4. None of this is to say I’m anti-Kokopelli, (I worship the heck out of that “devious little weasle”) I’m just sharing my feelings as to how that could create a sort of dark comedy feel for him in the movie. That;s what he’s like in the book, why not the movie. Cause it would be a shot to heck shame, if they ruined him by making his humor dumb. Kokopelli is actually very smart, if you take the time to know him.
5. I also think “Darien Drinkwater” should be played by Tim Curry. I’ve only seen him in two things, (Ferngully-The Last Rainforest, and Monk TV) and he seems to have a really good talent for portraying slobs. “Drinkwater” as readers of the book are doubtless aware, is a total slob. Tim would be perfect.
6. And last, but most surely not least, a thought regarding the DVD/VHS cover art. I think the DVD/VHS cover art, should be layed out as follows:
Kokopelli’s shadow, should be placed in the point blank direct center of the picture, portrayed in his typical flute playing posture. On the lefthand side of his hunched back, should be “Emma Drinkwater.” Not her whole body, just her head, slightly concealed in shadows. On the righthand side, should be “Darien Drinkwater.” His face should also be slightly concealed in shadow. This will let audiances know, that there will be some scary moments in this movie. The tilte should be placed at Kokopelli’s feet. Jim Carry, Tim Curry, and whover plays “Emma,” should be placed above Kokopelli’s head.
Well, now I have to go post one small thing in the complaints section. Goodbye for now.
PS: Film rating= PG-For mild violence, and scary situations, including child in jeopardy sequences
Apparently this thread is unpopular or something. I’ve been waiting forever to see another post beneath my last post (# 70).
Well I gueess I’ll just have to do it myself.
I have a request for the GAPAs.
I noticed that their aren’t any threads posted under ‘Uncatogorized.’
What is the point of that ‘Uncatogorized’ thingy on the post by category sidebar. Is it a joke of some sort.
I click on it, and the computer says I’m looking for something that isn’t here.
What’s going on?
For gosh sakes, please respond someone.
Thank you.
Bye.
Whats the difference between this thread and the Suggestion Box?
Can people make their own threads? If it’s possible, it would be really nice to have instructiond in the rules section for how to do it.
Could we have a seperate museblog rpg for Sci/fi, fantasy, historical fiction, adventure, etc.?
at lest two or three.
REQUEST FOR GAPAs
It would be useful if you could start a ‘Muse Movie? Part 2’ thread.
Here’s what Cedar says:
This thread will be used soley for the purpose of script ideas.
If you have a script sample you’d like to post, post it here.
If you have a non script idea, post it in the original ‘Muse Movie?’
thread.
Let’s have fun.
_____________
Thanks GAPAs.
Hope to see it on the homepage soon.
PS: Can’t wait to see all the great ideas.
PINK! If you change the P to an O then you have oink and both words refer to pigs!
