Ludwig B. and Jane A. are, of course, immortal, but they would be (respectively) 237 and 232 years old on Sunday, December 16. They are jolly good fellows, which nobody can deny.

Happy birthday!
Happy birthday!
Hmmm… I wonder what would happen if I pied them?
Happy birthday!
Wow. I was just talking about my miniature Mr. Darcy yesterday, actually (because I finally read Pride and Prejudice properly over thanksgiving break). He is several inches high, and quite adorable. XD
[SCHROEDER]
Call the principal
And hand him the news
We’ve got a holiday
That he can’t refuse
A day of harmony,
A day of music:
Beethoven’s birthday!
[SALLY]
Beethoven Day?
[SCHROEDER]
A reverential mission
[LINUS]
Beethoven Day?
[SCHROEDER]
The hope of each musician
No more am I the only guy
To stand up and say:
Hooray, Beethoven,
Hooray!
[CHARLIE BROWN]
Beethoven Day?
[LINUS]
Yes. As in Ludwig van Beethoven, composer.
Born 1770, died 1827. The eldest of three sons,
Ludwig’s mother was the daughter of the chief overseer
of the kitchen…
[LUCY]
Whatever… Schroeder, I just want you to know that
I’m on your side. I want to help, publicity-wise,
with Beethoven’s Birthday.
[SCHROEDER]
Thank you for your support, but I just don’t
want to see Beethoven’s birthday commercialized.
[LUCY]
Commercialized?
[SCHROEDER]
Yes. The next thing you know they’ll be selling
Beethoven sweatshirts.
[SNOOPY (wearing a Beethoven sweatshirt)]
Beethoven Day.
[SCHROEDER]
If you’re wondering
“Now, how do we start?”
Just blow the music
Til you know it by heart!
We’re gonna celebrate
We’ll throw a party
Beethoven’s Birthday!
[OTHERS]
Beethoven Day!
[SCHROEDER]
And when you say the title…
[OTHERS]
Beethoven Day!
[SCHROEDER]
You hear a great recital
The right of every boy and girl
To stand up and say:
[OTHERS]
Hooray, Beethoven,
Hooray!
[SCHROEDER]
Beethoven Day
[OTHERS]
Beethoven Day
Beethoven Day
[SCHROEDER]
Beethoven Day
[OTHERS]
Beethoven Day
Beethoven Day
[SCHROEDER]
Beethoven Day
[OTHERS]
Beethoven Day
[SCHROEDER]
Beethoven Day
[OTHERS]
Beethoven Day
[SCHROEDER]
Beethoven Day- hey, hey, hey!
[OTHERS]
Beethoven Day!
[SCHROEDER]
A philharmonic rumble
[OTHERS]
Beethoven Day!
[SCHROEDER]
A polyphonic jumble
A humble dedication as we
Stand up and say:
[ALL]
Hooray, Beethoven,
Hooray!
[LUCY]
I got it! We’ll demand full-Page ads in every newspaper!
[LINUS]
We’ll start a chain or Beethoven superstores!
[SALLY]
We’ll build a Beethoven theme park!
[CHARLIE BROWN]
We could have a bake sale!
[SCHROEDER]
Wait! That’s too commercial!
Let’s imagine it.
That glorious hour
Filled with emotion
Yet inspired with power
When we all honor
The man we adore
On the day we place
The newest face
On Mount Rushmore!
[OTHERS]
Mount Rushmore.
Beethoven Day!
[SCHROEDER]
A moment of reflection
[OTHERS]
Beethoven Day!
[SCHROEDER]
A classical injection!
So facing this direction
We begin it today
A musical collection
Everybody can play
The right of every boy and girl
To stand up and say:
Hooray,
Beethoven!
Hooray!
[OTHERS]
Beethoven hooray!
It’s Beethoven Day
A time for celebrating
Beethoven way
La la la la
La la la la
La la la la la
[ALL]
Hooray!
wow…
2- It wouldn’t work. To pie Betthoven you need a musical pie, and to pie Jane Austen you need a literary pie. *vanishes*
I listened to Beethoven’s Coriolan overture today…
I like Beethoven, though some things of his are way overplayed. Für Elise, for example. (Which I can’t stand.)
But overall, you’re a spectacular fellow. Happy Birthday! ::pies::
Some for Madame Austen as well ::pies::
*Apple pies*
Oops! We got up so early I didn’t get to check the blog and so didn’t remember to tell people it was Beethoven’s birthday. But, I would have probably messed up my Bible reading and said, And the angel of Beethoven appeared to them…

Happy birthay Beethoven And Jane Austen!
I just read Emma, Jane’s favorite book. I like it too, but Pride and Predjudice is still my fave.
A funny story, I was at the Motor Vehicle Association with mom, who had some stuff to do there, and I was reading Pride and Predjudice. Some people were sitting not too far away from me and saw what I was reading and started asking me questions, when it came out that I was reading it because I wanted to, they were shocked. Geez, it’s a great book, why not? Ah well.
9~ How did it go? I didn’t hear any roar of rage and dispair, so I’m assuming it was okay…
10-Hahah, no, it really wasn’t bad…people seemed happy, so I think I did a good job. It was actually sad in a way, this was probably the last year I will be in the program. So next year I can watch the whole thing as the audience sees it, and see what I’ve been missing!
They really didn’t play any Beethoven music, sorry Schroeder, no Beethoven Christmas Carols!

Oops, I missed their birthdays
I love Jane Austen. Who couldn’t, with my name?
I’m reading Pride and Prejudice. In fact, I think I’ll go read it right now.
I love Jane Austen! Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion are my favorites.
Welcome, Felicity!
I’ve heard Persuasion’s really good. I should read it sometime.
I love Jane Austen…The only books I’ve read are Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility.
Apparently PBS is doing a showing of all of the actually good movies of her books…I saw Northanger Abbey the other night. Tres interesante…I must read it now.
