Patience, Please
This site is under reconstruction and will look strange for a while. We regret the inconvenience.
And if you don’t celebrate Christmas, be merry anyway. Any excuse for merriment, we always say.
I got up at the traditional 6 o’ clock to open presents and ended up waiting 3 hours to open my stocking!!!!! Happy Christmas!!!!
Grinchgrinchgrinch
Sorry.
*is merry* My sister woke me up at eight when I was quite happy to sleep for another hour or two, so I opened my stocking and made coffee for my parents.. *senses new Christmas tradition in the W*******-M***** household* “Alright, Alice, go make us coffee and then we’ll get up. Sometime today.”
Ah well. I be happy anyway.
3- So your last name is hyphenated? Ooh…
hahaha….two cans o’ Monster, Blind Guardian cd, Brian Regan dvd + cd, and 230$ in cash. Think swaggering around at 1:00 pm on a sugar high listening to BG. epiiiiiic!!!!
4- Hah! That would be cool. But no. My mother didn’t take my father’s name, and I got my dad’s name. It’s a cool name – they both are – but not hyphenated.
I love Christmas. It maketh me happy. *sings, dances, eats mandarins*
6- Ah.
Mandarins? Cool.
I got a Charlie Chaplin Collection, a wallet, a book on poetic forms, and a Borders gift card for $50.
This seems like an optimum place to discuss a revision I want to make to the calendar.
March 1st should be the beginning of the year. Feb. 28 (or 29) should be New Year’s Eve. That way, all the seasons would hang together nicely within the boundaries of the year, without winter getting split in two a third of the way through.
Hmm. I got two hairsticks, lots of candy, a mousepad, a book of aphorisms, a beautifully illustrated picture book about rabbits, a “Teen Witch Kit” (
), a mug, a change purse, a box of mandarins, a tea set, a gift card to Gap, and an Ikea bookshelf.
I woke up at, like, two, and grinched around for a while. And then we opened presents!!! Listing time…
1 plush stuffed Fawkes
1 plush stuffed Hedwig
1 plush stuffed Crookshanks
1 Gryffendor scarf
1 Gryffendor beanie
The Science of Harry Potter book
2 tatoo sleaves
1 blue hoodie
1 brown sweatshirt
1 tree planted in my name at Yellowstone
Yeah, my parents are obsessed with my obsession with Harry Potter. It’s getting old, I think.
Plus, I heard them yakking about getting me the full movie set for my birthday in April…
Oh, by the way, my aunt (the one who sent me a pair of striped toe socks last year and sent the tatooe sleaves this year) signed the card “Merry X-Mas, Beavo! ~Auntie M”
I love her sooo much. She still has the mind of a kid. I remember going to her house, and she played dress-up with a hoopskirt and a balkava.
Happy Holidays, guys! I got the DVD set of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos series.
Today has been fun, this morning we made cinnamon roll things for breakfast, then opened presents. I got a bunch of books, and *counts* eight old Muses that my mother got from one of those Ebay-Muse-sales somewhere along the line. So I’ve basically been reading those all day, while waiting for the January one to come
Merry Christmas and other holidays, everyone!
*Is merry*

5 necklaces
2 calenders (niether of them will fit in my locker)
a backpack with my initials ERS (not a giveaway)
a new cell phone
coal (yes, my sister has a “sense of humor”)
POINTE SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes, this christmas I shall be up on pointe!!!!
11-Don’t you love adults like that?
Question: Do people open all presents early in the morning, or do they stretch it out?
My family just received one of those zip line things. My life is now officially, totally and amazingly complete. I have wanted one of those since I was about four years old.
And somebody gave me a shirt that says “save the turkeys, eat to tofu”. It is, apparently, from Hot Topic (I’ve never been in there before, although I’ve seen the stores…), but I think I’m going to wear it anyway. Because it’s funny, and I’m a vegetarian (and having tofurky for Christmas dinner).
I also got about ten pairs of socks. I’m not even joking. But some are fuzzy, and I really needed more socks, so that’s okay.
four packs of software
three linux books
two Barnes and noble gift cards
one mad magizine book
10- Same here. I woke up at 2:00, went and bugged my brother (he is seven but acts older so I can bug him ;)) stared at the clock until 3:00, read The Legend of Holly Claus (Brittany Ryan) by the light of my travel alarm clock until 4:30, went in and bugged Noah some more, then got in his bed and forced him to be awake, called my parents downstairs (they get up early on xmas) on their cell phones asking to come down and they said no, then they said we could at 5:45 and we came down and opened PRESENTS.

I was woken up this morning at 11 by my mom saying “wake up kathleen you’re goingt to see sweeny todd with misha in an hour get up you need to eat!”
Hi all, I’m back for a few minutes…
My Christmas:
This Christmas has been drawn out over several days. On the
22, we went to the Second Shepherd’s Play at the Folger Shakespere Library in Washington, and met up with some friends there. Opened presents that night.
On the 23, I opened some presents from my parents, since we didn’t want to have to pack them, and I knew what they were anyway. From Musery Loves Company, a Resistance is museless shirt, a Muse Academy shirt (I’m wearing it now), a Mostly HArmless shirt, and a HPB hoodie.
On the 24, I endured a visit from the Cousin From Hell and his parents, and opened presents from them. It wasn’t quite as horrible as it could have been. (The visit)
On Christmas day, we woke up late again, had breakfast, and decided that my mom and I wouyld play Christmas carols for a home for older people. We then practised the aforementioned music untill it was time to go, got there, played music to a group of very appreciaciative people, and came home. Then dinner with a friend from church, and played more music.
At about 10:00 PM we got around to opening presents, then promptly all fell asleep.
Thus was my holiday. Lots of fun, and I will remember it. Now I’m off to peruse the rest of the things going on here in my remaining 9 minutes of internet time. >_
In my family we open the presents in the morning. After everyone has woken up, we all go downstairs together and open a few presents. Then, we make cinnamon rolls (which we call Sticky Buns) for breakfast, eat them, then resume present-opening. Usually we go swimming at the JCC in the afternoon, but we were too tired to go this year. I’m not sure why, we just all basically collapsed by the time afternoon came.
i get mandarins too. yummy. mmmm. pretty much all i got this year was an ipod, and an early present, fencing gear.
Oh, whoops! I forgot.
GAPAs, did you get my card? I hope you like it.
MERRRY CCHRRRRISSSSTMMAAS!!!!
I have a little brother who wakes up at 4 or so, and I forbid him to wake me up until around 6. Then we wait to get up for presents, then open presents, then lounge around. *sighs*
*emogrinchemogrinchemogrinch*
I am NOT in the X-Mas spirit.
What is a “chemo grin?”
*giggles uncontrollably*
Emo Grinch, not “Chemo Grin”.
*bursts out laughing and clicks submit*
35- “emo grinch”
hahahahahaha. Funny Christmas story!
My dad went to Australia to visit his mum and didn’t get back until 1:00 in the afternoon on Christmas Eve. He was rather jet lag, so he took some sleeping medication when he went to bed. And what-de-ya-know, somehow Santa forgot to appear and put presents under the tree…so when I got up on Christmas to look at them… no presents!
So my sisters and I jumped on my dad (literally) and made him remedy this problem.
Our family doesn’t really care ’bout christmas, Its the New year that drives us NUTS!!!!!!!!! but we still get something small
I got these kitty socks and burst into tears- i want a live cat really badly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Holidays, musers!!!!!!!!!!
I’m invited to the first party of 2008 at my friend Rachel’s house. “Bring some foodstuffs and a noismaker of your choice!” *rubs hands gleefully* I wonder what we’re doing with those…

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Gifts in the morning is usually the way my family does Christmas. This year though, it seemed that it wasn’t as focused on stuff as it was just getting together and having fun.
We played lots of music on Christmas eve and Christamas day, without any practice ahead of time, but it worked out pretty well. Even with Mom on a horrible rental cello, since there was no way on earth that the cello was going to ride 14 hours with us in our tiny car. TINY car, mind you.
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaappy New Year!
Happy New Year!
I was sick all Christmas. If you were on the random thread, I complained there too
