I think we should stop letting new people post, and return the blog to its old glory, OR we should make threads that only people who were here by summer 2006 can go on. Also, I do hope spring really is coming soon. I was in despair, but I have found new hope on the front page of the museblog, which helpfully reminded me that it is now March. That means that soon the days of walking to and from school (without freezing) are drawing near, as well as my birthday and the start of refereeing. I prefer not to think about the fact that the impending spring means that summer is looming. Maybe once we get to May we can just stay there.
9- I object very, very, strongly to that. Neophytes are NOT ALL BAD. Lots of amazing people came after summer 2006 and a thread that excluded them would go against the nature of MuseBlog as I perceive it. If such an exclusive thing happened, then you would probably lose most of the neophytes anyway, and with only about four people still around, the blog wouldn’t be much like you remember it.

Folks, how can you say it was better in 2006? First of all, the blog started in mid 2005. Second, the gaboomba was here before that. And third, what is better, exactly? It is different, there are so many threads and comments to read now, but you can’t say it was better.
And remember, you were a newcomer once too. I was crazy and didn’t know anything when I first came over a year ago, and I wouldn’t have wanted to be kicked out because I didn’t instantaneously know exactly ow to act somewhere I had never been in my life. What would the blog be like if I had never been here?
And seriously, we need new people to keep coming in here. People get busy, go off to college eventually, etc. The blog would just die off. Like the Shakers.
Let’s try not to shoot ourselves in the foot here. I do my best whenever I can to help newcomers and welcome them into the adventures, which is an area of the blog I have the most knowledge of. The newcomers are our only hope, they make up the new generation. We must do all we can to welcome them everywhere on the blog.

9-Hey! I came after summer of ’06, my first post was in October. But then I stopped posting, posted once or twice in January of ’07, and began to continuously post in March of ’07. In fact, my real blogvirsary should be coming up soon, although I don’t know exactly when it was. GAPAs, do you know.
Oh, and that’s impossible, the “only” threads. Well, not quite, but it would take a lot of work for the GAPAs. I’ve tried it before on my own WordPress blog. Needless to say, it didn’t work.

Yes, in my excitement over my last post, I forgot to say how amazing the picture is. Lady B, how did you make it? It is quite good. And may I ask, will it keep changing like the last one? It’s neat when they change, but it can be startling. Also, it is hard to enjoy each one for long… but however, your pictures are always great.
Another question: In the past I had often made a picture for the random thread. Lady B, do you enjoy making the pictures or is it another thing you have to do? Because I’d be happy to sometimes help ease the load, but not if you really enjoy and don’t mind making them…

Now it seems to be working fine, so I don’t know.

We’ve had to take it down at least temporarily. Apparently it was causing an endless loop in which it contacted our host company’s server computer over and over again about a gazillion times. To prevent a crash, the company shut off the blog’s ability to send the server queries. Because the blog couldn’t “talk,” the server didn’t know it was still here.
As an unfortunate side-effect, those of you who tried to visit the blog got messages saying that WordPress software hadn’t been installed yet and inviting you to set it up. Some of you did (so did I) and found yourselves temporary GAPAs of a new blog called “My Weblog.” It was all very exciting for a few hours.
Things are mostly straightened out now, but we’ve taken “Recent Comments” offline until we can be sure it won’t cause problems again.

I was slightly too lazy to read the previouse post but i’m just going to give an update on my life (y’all can ignore me). I saw marat/sade on friday night with E,M,W,S and L which was cool. It’s kind of a scary play. it’s set in a mental hospital or something and the actors were so convincing. which is why it was kind of scary. but it was amazing. right after the intermission for no apparent reason there was a dance number to a Queen song. (don’t stop me now or something like that) but it was so amazing. i had a prety great week except for the fact that i had to miss improv club for a doctors apointment. (my doctor attacted me with a needle) and the fact that L doesn’t believe that I’m straight but watever, who cares about him? so I hope you had a great week and welcome to march!!!!! Uuh, not much happened today, besides the fact that it was warm enough for me to go down to the floodplane and sit on the bridge for a few hours and whittle a stick. It turned outpretty well, too, thank you or asking.
I’m so glad it’s finally acting like spring, I’ve missed being able to stay outside for extended amounts of time without copious clothing on. (And not freezing to death.) And I’m so glad that I was able to climb the bridge today, since that is a feat that, while not difficult, is impossible to with tons of clothes.
Yeah, I’m just happy about climbing a bridge, whittling a stick and wearing myself out by playing my violin for several hours. My arms are about to fall off with exhaustion, so if this post ends suddenly, you’ll know why.

We lost. In the 7th period, cause of the 4 overtimes. We beat them yesterday 3-0 but lost today, when it mattered… game took forever, from 3:40 to 6. Second big championship game I’ve lost this weekend. On saturday my other team lost State.
I got a II on my flute solo.
Life sucks.

I applied to the Math/Science/Computer Science Magnet, which has a focus on…well…math, science, and computer science, and also the Communications Arts Program, which focuses on writing and other media stuff. I like the Math/Science Magnet better.]

TMFA and Meow- Actually, I’m not sure why my feet were cold. I was wearing socks, and fuzzy warm boots. And I suppose it’s possible some liquid nitrogen soaked into my boots; my feet certainly felt cold enough.
Now I’m here in he country drinking tea and disgusting cough syrup and totally failing to feel any better.
The cast party was great fun. We played pool and extreme spoons and then we got sort of kicked out. Brenna’s parents will probably never let her have a party again. We made a great deal of noise and lost like half their spoons and Mike broke the stairs. But it was a lot of fun.

I need to earn money, because I just discovered a program for high-schoolers to go sail around on a tallship for five days but it costs $575, which, to be perfectly frank, I can’t afford. I can’t even afford the State Thespian Conference (this year) and that only $195.
I still don’t know what I wanna do for SF… I have a half-formed idea but I don’t like it much…
I want to do a MuseBlog Fanfic-type thing, but I want it to be accessible and understood by a larger group of people than the MuseBloggers, so it needs to be sort of disguised… And as usual I have trouble finding a plot that makes any sense. Most of my plots are very small-scale. Not particularly important.

Yeah, so we had Aladdin rehersal today. I didn’t do much on stage because they were rehersing the dance for “Friend Like Me” which dosn’t include Iago. At the end, I forgot which side of the stage I was supposed to be on, so I kind of did a little grapevine thing through all the dancing just in time for my cue on the other side, and then I did nothing again because the character Jafar wasn’t there.

127 – I hate rehearsals where you do nothing. Of course, one of them during Annie was quite interesting. The servants weren’t actually supposed to show up, but half of us did. It ended with us rolling the laundry hamper from the locker room through the school. Of course, half of our Twelfth Night rehearsals are pointless, because our teacher can only work with one cast at a time. On the other days we are in the hallways supposedly running the show with the student directors, but it’s quite hard to play my part when Sir Toby and Fabian are beating each other up.

I don’t really belong. At least, I don’t feel like I belong right now. Here, maybe, but less and less as time goes on. MB feels temporary right now, just a place to say hi and pass the time of day. My theater project is over, the salmon bowl was over long ago. I guess I need to get a job now that I have the time, but I won’t see any of my peers.
And peers are overrated, right? I lived the first thirteen years of my life with no contact with others of my age, and now I’m surrounded by them. But I don’t belong with them.
I need theater, so I feel like I belong. And it’s over.
138- I’ve never really ‘belonged’. I bounce around between several very different groups of people, but I don’t really fit in anywhere. There’s only one person that I’ve met that is really like me (not just partially like me, or similar to me with some random radical difference, like most of my other friends).

But Carus Publishing is making “kid friendly’ websites for all the magazines they put out. Including Muse. I think they said something about forums, too. I can only hope that they will maintain them better than they do the “For Kids” section on their site. I was just randomly looking up the “Current issue” for Cicada, and it was the Sept./Oct. issue! If they intend to make a website and then not ever udate it it’s just going to be annoying.
Do any of the GAPAs know anything about this?

161~ No, I’m not kidding, although I rather wish I was.
I imagine that the other magazines’s new websites will catch on better than a new Muse site. From my observation Musers are a lot more strong minded and less prone to simply extolling virtues of the magazines. The only other Carus magazine that I’ve read scathing letters to is Cicada, and that’s a teen magazine, so go figure. They’re all trying to prove a point.
But look up http:// www. cricketmagkids.com and click on Muse. They are still under construction, but they’ll be up in May of this year, acording to the sign.
Personally, I think it’s an outrage, but perhaps that will attract the more wishy-washy readers and we can keep MB.
Now, just a clarification-I like all the magazines that Carus puts out, and I’ve gotten a lot of them, but most of them aren’t as good as Muse. I might be biased, but it really is the best. The others are too condescending and don’t let the reader think. While I dearly love Cricket, their material seems to be going much more “kiddie” like lately, and not just because I’m getting older. I love well-written childrens stories as much now as I ever did, and thir illustrations are getting cuter instead of the beautiful pictures that they used to have.
Cicada is nice, but only too often do they put on a veil of sophistication and try to act superior because of their creative writing. well, often they just sound like a bunch of teenagers spitting out vocabulary wrods that they use to impress their teachers. *cough* Not my idea of sophistication.
Muse is interesting, look at a thing from all angles and doesn’t talk down to its readers. The writing is much better than most of the others, clearer and more engaging, but not simply entertainment. Aome of the articles are getting a bit more “safe” than they were before, and not branching out as much anymore.
But unfortuanely, that’s everywhere. In a culture so infatuated with entertainment and consumerism it’s hard to escape.
I’ll get off my soapbox now.

I understand that they are making a site for Muse because they are making them for all the other magazines too and they wanted to have them all equal. I do get a bit annoyed at the Carus website because all the for kids stuff seems to talk down to the readers.
And I know that MB wouldn’t get deserted there are too many die-hards on here to let it get abandoned!

(160-174) As I understand it, the sites for Cricket and the other “literary” magazines are supposed to come on line in May. The sites for Muse and the other “nonfiction” magazines won’t open until September.
It will be interesting to see what they do. I know the Muse editors read the blog every day, and they’ve asked for our advice with the new site. My main advice to anyone trying something like MuseBlog would be “don’t try to do too much too soon.” This is harder than it looks (though it’s loads of fun).
Maybe the new Muse website will keep some of the chatroom newbies off here.
180-I detect only one problem. if we stop publicity, people won’t join. thus, only some MBers will stay(very few) for the next long period of time. I mean, some MBers are 17/18, you know?

I have nothing to do. NOTHING!!!
My day had a goal, a reward, a purpose. I had to get through school so that I could go to a party afterwards. I made it through school mainly because I had to, to go home and to go to the party. And then we didn’t go to the party, and as if that weren’t bad enough, I finished my book so now I have only three options:
1.) Clean the house. It’s too cold to clean the house and most of the mess is not mine. I might clean my room.
2.) Read. Or do my math homework. If I read, that’s homework and I need to take notes and I really don’t want to think about English, really, because I only have a B and that’s the most demoralizing thing since… PE. (Did I mention I hate pickleball?)
3.) Stay on the computer, which is boring when nothing’s happening and requires a lot of loading pages when there’s no recent comments bar, and is also pretty demoralizing.
Maybe I’ll just go to bed. I might get enough sleep for once.

Folks, when I go to the “new” website it just says they are trying to make a new website, nothing more.
Anyway, it’s good to know the editors read the blog (I had thought they must, we basically are constantly talking about the mag, and we are the really radical [if you will] readers
) and that they are probably reading THIS COMMENT. All I have to say about this is, if they want to make a site that is more about just the magazine, and which has games and other stuff, that’s fine, it doesn’t sound especially interesting to me, but I will happily look at the site. It could be quite wonderful. But if you make anything resembling a place to submit comments (like museblog is) Don’t think you can approach what this blog is. MuseBlog is immortal, it can get sick sometimes (like now) but it can’t die. All of the MuseBloggers would rise up and pie anyone who had the mildest, most innocent THOUGHT of doing anything to the blog. No, no, NO. MuseBlog=happiness and people can’t take it away, after all the GAPAs do.

I had an ok day today.
My hoodie reeks slightly of smoke, which doesn’t make sense because I haven’t been around any smokers or fires recently.
I was so busy yesterday. I had an RDE meeting which I didn’t even know about until 6º and then I had XMA and Leadership (taekwondo) and then there was piano, which sucked because I lost my book right after my last lesson which was 3 weeks ago because of all the snow days. So I did awful from not being able to practice.
I can’t wait for the egg to hatch!

OK, this is just creepy, considering the blog’s recent troubles. I posted on several threads this morning, and NOBODY else has posted on any of them. This being one of them. Comments here really are down, probably because the loss of the “Recent Comments” bar makes it hard to navigate. I’m working on reinstating it, though first I’ll have to upgrade to the very latest version of the software. I’ll wait until the weekend, when I’ll have time to fix the inevitable glitches that occur whenever I do that.

My skool’s offering latin!!
This makes me happy. I’m putting down as an elective, even though I’ll have to stand and endure a lengthy lecture from my counselor about why we shouldn’t take 2 languages. My response will be to fire at her in hebrew and explain in detail the structural difference between formal and informal verbs in the language I made up in german class. It usually works.
I had a terrible day but I also had a fantastic day. actualy 90% was horrible, 10% was fantastic. The terrible part has to do with people hating me and me hating me and me crying durring art class, but that’s boring. Now for the awesome news: I GET TO PRACTICE WITH THE IMPROV TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kinda hard to explain but it is the most exciting thing thag’s happened in a while and it makes me feel good inside which is a nice change from all the hate.

Why must the one costume my humanities teacher doesn’t have two days before the dress rehearsal be the Maria costume? Meanwhile, the other cast doesn’t know their lines. They even skipped an entire scene today.

I accidentally logged on when the blog was being fixed. Everything was REALLY weird. The threads were all out of order. And you could see a bit of either fur or feathers inside of the egg. The one on top had a small crack in it, too.
It looked even weirder from this side. The closest comparison I can come up with is wrestling with a Balrog.

Well, either a very large mouse, or a smallish rat. Anyway, we wouldn’t let her in because she obviously wanted to bring it with, and so she stayed out there, playing with it. We kept seeing it fly up 2 feet in the air… I don’t know what happened to it after that. I probably don’t want to know, either.
317~ Oh, he does this pretty regualrly, bringing them in as a gift and then when we tell him (and only after) he’ll eat it. But we have to pet him and make a fuss over how good he is first. It’s strange for a family of vegitarians to have a cat that tries to feed us meat.
But he’s a sweetie in all other ways.

Crying in school: I did a lot in Kindergarten and 2nd grade, because I hated those years. I think I did in 7th or 8th when I forgot a project that was due, and I think I did once this year from sheer stress. I normally only cry in my bedroom or in the basement at my mom’s, becuase that’s when people don’t see me. I hate it when people see me crying.
The egg on top is hatching! And the one on the table is leaking some yolk or something out of it. AHHH!!!! *dies of fright*
I defiantly guessed “the death, the life, the love” before I saw anyones. I don’t want any points but I’m surprised it was close as I’ve never taken french/learned any.
I hate people seeing my emotions, so it’s unfortunate that I’m such an emotional person… pretty much all the times I cried were when something set me off when I was really stressed/depressed/tired.
re: crying in school. I did that a lot in elementary school. they called me crybaby which of course just made me cry more. Besides my friends, people at elementary school didn’t really like me…
once I went to seventh grade I didn’t really cry quite so often anymore. now I cry maybe once every two months, or once a month at school. In elementary school I might have cried twice a week? once a week? I don’t remember. but I did it a lot. yeah. I’m still inclined to cry at school but I hate doing it now because I know it is annoying and I know I was teased. I’ll cry where I’m more comfortable though.

I hate scales!!!! Ok not really, but I can never get my hands to end at the same time. One of them will get to the end of the scale and the other will have like 2 notes left to go unless i go reallllllllllyyyyyyy slow.

This week is OGT week, which means that for the first 2 hours of every day i will be sitting around taking practice tests and doing nothing, since I’m a freshman.

I can’t wait for it to stay warm. It’s been warm a few times but it snows the next day. Dumb weather.
I flipped out at school, or right before school two weeks ago. One of the other girls had to hold me in her lap while I sobbed for a good ten minutes.
I dislike Daylight Saving Time. I mean, come on. It messes up our sleep patterns, our eating patterns, our time zones… And I leave the house at seven fifteen and it’s BLACK out there. Well, dark blue really, but you get my drift. It used to be twilight when I got up. And this morning something was wrong with my clock, I swear. Then the kitchen light bulb went out and because it’s dark I had to turn on every other light in the house just so I could see to make my lunch.

My spring vacation just started and will go on for two weeks. Sadly, it seems that nobody else’s vacations have started. I like my school’s weird schedule, but it can be rather dull when you go on MB on Monday morning, and all the GAPAs are at work and the other bloggers at school.

I am home from school 10 minutes early though woo. I left during 7th period because I had to go to the dermatologist and get a birthmark/freckle/mole ish thing removed cause mom’s scared I’m going to get cancer or something. So now I have stitches in my back, whee. You can’t see them though.
The odd thing was it didn’t hurt very much at all, just a little poking when I got the shots around it (yay for topical creams), but I kept flinching and tensing up because my muscles are tight and when the docter’d touch my back it’d really tickle.
329/330 ~ Ugh, I completely agree. Thankfully, we had a delay this morning which was really nice because I got almost two hours more of sleep (bringing me to a total of almost seven hours) which was lovely.
CRYING IN SCHOOL. I used to do it all the time. Allll the time. I didn’t want to but I couldn’t stop myself. I finally learned to control myself and now I can’t cry when I want to which is almost as bad.
So I’m super-excited right now because I just found out like an hour ago that I’m going to sectionals tomorrow! Yaaay. ♥

I have one week of break as well, which is next week (I just realized that during bio second period and I got kind of hyper). My plans: read a bunch of books, have Katie move in, go for a hike with Jamie and his family, mess with my dad’s guitar. And then of course all the chores that my mom will be sure to provide. My sister’s going off to Europe the following week but I’ma chill.

in september i found a black spot on my arm and it kept growing. then when it was the size of your pinky fingernail, i went to the dermatologist and they had to remove it. it was on my arm so i could see it and they only were abla to put 1 stitch in because i was close to throwing up. The diagnosis was that it had been by a brown reckluse and the skin that was black was dead and that it was a good thing they had gotten it out becasue it could have spread alot more. creepy eh? especially because brown reckcluse spiders dont live in NJ…
So i had try outs for the Senoir A basketball team today and i pretty much sucked and 1 of the girls who was trying out had a concussion and then she slipped and it got worse and she had to be wheeled out. It kind of ruined the fun of try outs and i think i did really badly
Daylight savings time is next week for me – HAHA
So I was going to take a bus home from school today and the bus (which hasnt come to our school since the headmistress decided to make our day go 1/2 an hour later than the other schools ) was going to stop for me because I am private boarding and it is the only way for the school to get me out to where i live so i get to laeve school early. Of course the bus forgot to come along to my school so one of the people in the Public Transport office had to pick me up and he drove me out to almost where I live and then I caught the bus about 5 streets from where i live. FIGURES!!!!
Now noone is home and I want my parents to sell our freaking house so thay can move over here to NZ and i dont have to private board – I wont board at the school because it is too strict and i dont do rules , so i am living in the middle of nowhere with my dads friend and his family and while they are nice – I really want my parents to move out, because it is kind of awkward
Does anyone here want to buy a 72 acre farm in NJ 6 bedroom 6 bathroom 2 kitchen house with a movie theater? It is only 1.75 million – we have underpriced it so it will sell!!!!
