The ball, like Muse Academy, exists in the Musiverse, not the universe. But that’s never stopped us before. Planning has already begun on the Hare-athon random thread. Let’s shift it here.
Patience, Please
This site is under reconstruction and will look strange for a while. We regret the inconvenience.
Well I think we should have it as a formal dance for both Muse Academys.
I’m thinking of lots of space to dance, and floating lights.
And huge balloons!
And plenty of refreshments!
2- for the Wedding?
(Rt-H/ MissSwann)
C&P-ed from The Penultimate Lap:
Of course, it must be diverse. There may be people in Muse Academy who prefer pop music to classical, so we have to play all kinds of music.
Outside, I think, at night of course (all balls must be at night), with tea lights, maybe those floating candles. There should be a long table with various small snacks and beverages, and a May pole illuminated somehow with tiny yellow lights. Formal dress is required.
Floating lights sound great, huge balloons… Hmm. Let’s see, where can we put the huge balloons so that we won’t trip over them while we dance?
5 – Tie the balloons to the trees.
This sounds like a lot of fun. Could there be a quick dance lesson beforehand for the people *coughcoughmecoughcough* who have no idea what they’re doing?
6- Oh yes. Or maybe there could be dance lessons during free time for a couple of weeks before the ball.
We can have hors d’oeuvres on plates, and people can pass them around!!!
Ooh. Sounds fun. Of course, I have no idea what to do at a May Day Ball.
I’ll attend! It sounds much better than the prom I’m going to.
Could we make the music old Scottish-English-like? Or otherwise classical? Or at least some of the music?
Ooh, may I help cater?
11- well, I’m guessing Paul’s playing.
(Do we have 240 quid/pounds? will paul do it for free?)
May I attend?
11- ooh, that sounds like fun (the catering thing) Can i help please?
Will it be hosted on the RPG thread?
I think we need a very specific theme. Spring is a little normal. How about some crazy obscure aspect of spring. Ooh! And also could we wrote poetic lines on the balloons? *looks for poems about May*
I’ll get back on this in a bit. I am looking at some Emily Dickinson right now. Tell me if you think this idea might work. *begs for input*
Hare & Hedgepig can cater. This sounds fun.
I’ll make a list:
Food: Catered by Hare and Hedgepig
Music: Diabolus (Paul’s band)
What else?
Oops, I didn’t read all of the posts.
How about H&H, THF, and greekgurl all help cater? And anybody else who wants to help?
THF and greekgurl will have plenty of work to do. Right now, they can play an invaluable role in drawing up a menu.
16 – We need decorations.
18 – Sounds good.
18- hm….. who here likes mac n’ cheese?
*writes* “Cat’s Meow — Head of Decorations Committee.”
Anyone on the balloon idea?
Well, I’ll type a couple of the things I thought about.
“For captain was the butterfly,
For helmsman was the bee,
And an entire universe for the delighted crew.”
(Emily Dickinson)
“Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers today;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.
Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.
And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.”
(Robert Frost w/out last verse)
“The year’s at the spring
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snails on the thorn:
God’s in his heaven–
All’s right with the world.”
(Robert Browning)
TS Eliot was too bleak.
Okay, I might add more later if this idea is ok by everyone. Statistics about spring would be funny too!
*is exicted about delectable food being planned* *is depressed by culinary lack of skill on part of self*
Perhaps the ball should actually be during the day? Seeing as it’s May Day, not May Night. But I do like little twinkly lights…
*helps Meow with the decorations*
23- well, It’s going from 12:00 a.m to 12:00 a.m. Right?
I like twinkly lights too! Besides, the Muse Academy way is not necessarily the normal way. Pshaw! Who needs normal?
*tries to help with the decorations and succeeds in being mostly harmless but not entirely helpful*
24- Ooh, that should be interesting. And exhausting. Let’s see… We could do the wedding in the day, the majority of the dancing at night, and the may pole whenever we feel like it.
Still, a 24-hour party sounds tiring. Maybe from 12 PM to 12 AM?
26- good point. By the way, is MAS coming, or is it just MAN?
27- I’m not sure. We should ask Trebel.
26-I vote 12 PM to 12 AM too.
Can we have some balloons shaped like
? Or is that inprudent? I think we need a proper indoor ballroom as well as a garden. The type with immense chandeliers and marble fllors polished so thoroughly that it is possible to see one’s reflection, and curving white stone steps with golden balustrades and galleries. I am a passioante fan of gardens, but really no ball is complete without a ballroom!
Also, please oh please, someone respond to my balloon idea. Just to say, “discard it” or anything, if need be. Pwease. *feels guilty at being so demanding* I’m sorry. But I can’t bring myself to delete that. You can skip it if you’d like, but *tries and fails to restrain self* please comment on the idea. *feels worse* *repents feverishly*
Cobblestone garden?
(29) I’ve always been partial to dancing on rooftops. Could even be a rooftop garden.
29- I like the balloon idea. We could have a poetry recital too! *becomes extremely excited*
Oh, and I quite agree about the ballroom. It should have huge French doors that are left open throughout the night so that you can drift in and out. The music and most of the food would be inside, but all the twinkly lights would be outside, and the balloons…
*rummages through closet for ball gowns* *rummages through thrift stores* *finds nothing* *fixes up blue gown* Yay!
31- *gasp* MA has a rooftop garden? And we get to dance in it? *swoons* *falls off rooftop*
32-Exactly. SImply spiffing. Thank you for your input, by the way! *appreciates* And wonderfully done with the gown!
I have a cream colored ball gown (only 57 sizes too large for me) which would do well.
31-I quite agree with you. Only, I think the more formal part of the evening requires a French door ballroom. Obviously, we could drift out as time progressed.
Can we send in pictures of ball costumes, design ideas etc?
(34) But, of course. The rooftop is where one slips off to, for fresh air and stars and the music drifting out from the main hall. And the scents of the night-blooming flowers.
34- I plan to ACTUALLY fix my blue ball gown (not just virtually) and send in a picture. Maybe I’ll do that this weekend.
Maybe. *foresees another very long day full of sticking Shiitake mycelium into holes on alder logs* *groans*
Can I help cater?
I’ll have some more poetry soon.
*Inspired*
When Spring Weather comes
Muse Academy Party
Is a Blast! Hooray!
-A Haiku, Courtesy of The Bookworm
This sounds amazing. Much better than a normal high school dance. I love the balloon idea.
I am sad that I don’t have a proper gown. I have nice dresses, but they’re all very modern knee length ones.
I like to draw clothes I wish I had, so maybe I’ll make a ball gown.
HPB balloons sound great, although I predict that they will mostly be attacked by sharp pointy objects by the end of the evening. And I love the idea of the rooftop garden.
I like the idea of having the wedding at the ball.
Ooh, can I help with
invitationsdecorations?40 – Have MissSwann and RtH actually agreed to having their wedding at the ball yet?
39 – HPB balloons! Awesome! They will have to be made of very thick material, to withstand the sharp pointy objects.
Oohhhh!!! I have a picture of the perfect place for the ball! I’ll send it soon…
Awww I just found out that May Day is my friend’s 1 year anniversary with his girlfriend! Cutenesssssss!
Now for the picture…..
This sounds interesting…..I’ll go make a photoshop sketch of what you guys have all described.
Incidentally, when is May Day?
The wedding (RtH and MissSwann) should be at DUSK!
This is going to be an awesome event! I want to help with everything!
Here is the picture from Karinnn Tayyy. I added a close-up of the pavilion. Her description:
This is in a park near my city. It is a rose garden and there is a large pavilion at the end. The edges of the garden have very tall plants, and outside there are fields with other garden areas, trees, and a place where you can stand and look at the city. I’m pretty sure that thing is called a terrace, and if I go to the park again soon I’ll try to get more pictures of the place.
Ooh, pretty!
31- YES. YES. YES. Especially rooftops at night. Oh gosh. I’m imagining dancing on a rooftop in my head. So much lovelier than prom will ever be, the silly thing. I like that picture of the gardens, too! If we’re having three other dances, we could have different ones in different locations?
Ohh the venue looks perfect. Are we at Muse Academy South invited?? We will provide entertainment and we will host the after party
Oh dear, a menu. That’s the one thing that I might mess up. I’m thinking more vegetarian options than not. And we need a few vegan dishes, because we have at least 3 (?) vegan people here. Does anyone keep kosher? Because we’ll make sure that we have kosher options (most of the vegetarian options should be kosher, but we’ll have some kosher meat as well).
47- it’s pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can i be in charge of cold food? i can’t cook to save my life but i make killer sushi (sorry vegans) i can also make hummus.
It looks delightful. *is madly excited*
Ma I help with sushi?
I can also make dumplings well…
Hummus all the way! *contemplates what she can cook* I can chop of stringbean ends at a killer rate, cook pasta, taste-test, ummmm *thinks* make salad, usually without chopping of my fingers and to be quite honest that’s about it. I’ll be happy to help in whatever cooking enterprises are suggested if its at all possible. Maybe my virtual cooking skills are a step up from my real world ones (though, I doubt it).
I love hummus! How about shrimp and vegetable dumplings?
And how about cheeses? We should choose a couple to be brought around on platters.
I can do shrimp and vegetable dumplings!
57-Yay!
*wishes she could cook*
ok, i think so far we have sushi and dumplings, and Bookworm will make dumplings and Hypatia can pick the cheeses. did anyone here veto mac n’ cheese?
Hm. Macaroni and cheese isn’t exactly “finger food.” Maybe one of our culinary geniuses could find a way to wrap it or turn it into sushi or something…
Yes, I think that all the snacks ought to be small and easy to pick up, in case anyone grows famished and stops for a quick bite between dances.
I can make taquitos… but thats not exactly the right style of food.
unless you guys want mexican food
Oh wait, has anyone here ever had a cuban sandwich before? Where i live is famous for its cuban population and we have the best cuban sandwiches i the world! i can get some easily!
macaroni sushi would definetly (can’t spell this word) be a cullinary break through. I love the rooftop idea. The garden in the pictures is amazing. The garden should be transplanted onto a rooftop. No ball is complete without a shiny ball room and French doors
Many balls have a banquet beforehand…
Then snacks as the night progresses.
Right, here are the first few of the cheeses I picked:
Blue Cheese-Perhaps with some pine nuts
Petit Billy-A delightfully fresh goat cheese
Cheddar-Obviously
Tomme-Really delicious option
I’ll post more later. If more people think of some (please do) I can compile a master list.
How about nuts? And chocolate (we cannot on any account, forget desert)? Pie, of course, but something more would be lovely.
Oh yes, nuts, of course! And chocolate of many varieties. Pie might be a little too messy for the snacks, but perfect for the banquet, and maybe we can have miniature tarts for the snacks.
i hope its ok if I give some input.
I think tarts would be superb. For the banquet, there should be 5 courses
we should have one of those chocolate fountain thingies (fondue? something like that) that you can like dip pretzles and strawberries and other nice foods like that in.
mmm, chocolate.
66- Five courses? OK. That’s how many there are usually, isn’t it?
67- *drools* Fondue…. Mmmmm…. *dies happy*
65-Delightful idea!
Tiramisu might be nice for the banquet too!
Fondue! Halleluhah! Fondue is divine!
5 courses sounds lovely!
Seating arrangements?
70- Long tables, everyone sits where they like?
71-Sounds good!
How about Moroccan olives? Those are incredible.
Then, how about spinach pie?
Cheeses cont.
Feta-and I mean young feta when I say this
Manchego-Lovely hard Spanish cheese, in my mind, its best when drenched in olive oil and eaten with tomato gazpacho though thats obviously debatable
Pecorino-Widely popular
Brie-Delightful softish hard cheese
Eep! We need drinks. Any input?
*Brie-More like hardish soft on reflection
67-Yes! I have always wanted to use one of those. They look so elegant!
71-I think that would be nice, and maybe a few small tables around for people who need a break from everyone.
Oh I have a decorating idea! We could hang little lights from the ceiling inside the pavilion, and have them running along the edges of the paths between the roses.
You can’t really tell in the picture, but most of the places where the shrubs break are paths between the roses.
71 – What about lots of little tables, so everyone can talk to each other?
This is making me hungry.
We need lots and lots of pies. I’m not just talking about eating them…..
Food:
Appetizers:
Cheese and Crackers
Grapes
Italian Bread (yum!)
Cookies
Strawberries (Chocolate covered)
Blueberries
Shish Kabobs
(I’ll think of more soon)
Drinks:
Fanta
Water
Coke
Juice
Crush
Fruit Punch
Sprite
ICE!!
Milk
Choklit Milk
(I’ll think of more soon too!)
Re: Little tables: But then you couldn’t sit with half as many people.
*starts drooling on MA Math homework*
75-I really agree about the hungry bit.
I think long tables for the banquet, small tables for the more dancy part of this.
How do the courses go?
Appetizer
Soup/salad
Main dish
Cheese
Desert?
I am clueless, but thats my guess. If so, we should decide on which of each we want.
(76) Don’t forget Egils Mix, the pineapple-flavored Icelandic soft drink. Our friends across the strait would be miffed if we left it out.
41 – I think so. It would be so romaaaannnnnnttttiiiiiiccccccccc….
Do you need a date for the ball? *is terrified*
81- No?
RE: Drinks
Lemonade (of all sorts: mango, strawberry, rasberry, lime…)
Tea (?) (not good for dancing, but maybe for banquet)
Water (hmm, odd choice, isn’t it?)
Grape juice
Foam (as in milk foam)
Oooooh…..and eggnog!
76- Hmm. Throwing pies during the ball? How about before the banquet, so we have time to go clean up, and so we don’t slip on the pie filling.
81- NO. If you have a date, that’s OK, but it is NOT required. Although, now I think about it, some of the dances will probably require a partner.
*is thinking of English country dancing*
79- Hmm. Yes. But a menu isn’t really my domain. Really.
81 – They’re optional, I assume.
84 – Yes, to repel the cavemen. (don’t ask)
82, 86, 87 – Hm. I hope not.
85-Maybe there could be pie throwing after it. Hopefully Koko won’t crash the ball and ruin all the nice dresses.
I think it would be nice to have a date, but it other people don’t then they don’t have to.
I’m terribly excited. Now I just have to wait until May Day. *waits* *waits some more*
I only wish it wasn’t virtual.
90-Oh me too. It would be amazing if this could really happen.
*sigh*
91 – Why not? Let’s have a huge kokon!
Re:food: I am a rather picky eater, so include things like spaghetti without sauce. Asian food is simply delightful too. (Well, I grew up with that food, so…)
93-I’m really picky too. And woah! Someone else who doesn’t like sauce on their pasta!
A giant Kokon ball would be amazing, but how would we decide where to have it?
94- More to the point, how would we get our parents to take us that far. Spokane was a bit of a stretch…
93: YES. Spaghetti without sauce! People should be able to put sauce on their own spaghetti, because some people like just a tiny bit and others like to drown their spaghetti in it. I like parmesan cheese, personally.
Okay… so, let’s see if I have this right. There’s a wedding, a banquet, and a ball. The whole celebration is on May Day, 12PM-12AM. The banquet is before the ball. The ball is in the evening. When’s the wedding?
96- I’m not sure when the wedding is. That’s for MissSwann and HAWK to decide, as it is their wedding.
94 – Finally, someone else who dislikes spaghetti sauce. *feels all warm and fuzzy*
97 – Where are they, anyway?
Did someone already mention a Maypole?
99 – I don’t think so. Great idea!
99- I’ve mentioned it DOZENS of times!
99-Maypole!!!!!!!
88-*asks*
So any menu ideas?
How about we begin with soups?
I think we can have lots of alternatives so we should all contribute to make an enormous list.
Fish soup maybe…
Black bean soup with salsa maybe…
101 – Really? I never noticed. Sorry.
Soups? I suggest chicken noodle… tomato…
All right, so I’ve only mentioned a May pole two or three times, but I did mention it.
101 – Oops. Sorry. Brain cramp
102 – Can we have normal soup? Like split pea or chicken noodle or something?
104 – That’s better.
105 – Since when is split pea soup normal?
Here is the soup list:
Fish Soup
Black Bean with Salsa
Chicken Noodle
Tomato
Split Pea
Any more?
107- Hmm. I think that’ll be good. WAIT!!! Egg drop soup must be added to that list.
*responds to own post*
I’ll add
Red lentil
Escarole and white bean
Chili (turkey, chicken, beef, vegetarian, whichever)
Carrot-ginger
Tortellini chicken
Corn Chowder
Melon/Cucumber Gazpacho
Miso
We’ll probably have to strike some of these, but I wanted to get them on the table (pun intended) before we started deleting.
How about a nice potato leek soup! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Red lentil
Escarole and white bean
Chili (turkey, chicken, beef, vegetarian, whichever)
Carrot-ginger
Tortellini chicken
Corn Chowder
Melon/Cucumber Gazpacho
Miso
Fish Soup
Black Bean with Salsa
Chicken Noodle
Tomato
Split Pea
Egg Drop
Okay, finished soup list above. Until someone comes up with yet another brilliant idea.
Eep, so many grand ideas. Potato leek wil most certaintly go on the list.
As for salads, I am very partial to dandelion greens myself (despite the fact that I have only eaten them once).
Olives?
Moroccan
Kalamata
Fruits?
Grapes (somewhere in one of the upper posts)
Dips ?
Hummus (of all varieties)
Baba Ganoush
Salsa
Help. I am totally out of ideas for food.
More Fruits:
Oranges
Cherries
Strawberries
Blueberries
Raspberries
I’m very fond of berries, as you may have deciphered.
Oh, and you must add Ajvar to the list of dips. It’s a delicious Bosnian dip with red pepper. And Ranch dressing is quite tasty on occasion.
Shouldn’t artichoke hearts go on some list somewhere?
112- yogurt? fondu? cheese or chokit or both, i dont care.
113-Oh my genetically modified organism! Ok so, my parents are both Bosnian (I was born in the States, though). And its gotten better as people get older, but before, whenever I told kids that I was from Bosnia they say stuff like, “Where’s that?” “Is that a country?” And I just want to kill them, because I really love the country. So it is always incredibly exciting when someone knows something about it. So your post just absolutely made my day. Yay! I don’t like peppers so I don’t like Ajvar, but it is a fantastic addition to the list. Done with the spazzing for the moment. Okay.
I have never tried ranch dressing but it sounds spiffing!
As for artichoke hearts, definitely. Maybe with raisins. Surprisingly good that. There is a lot you can do with artichokes. Plenty of dishes, in my mind.
Berries are da bomb (since the CIA is already tracking me, I have no inhibitions about doing this, left).
114-All the fondues! Every last on of ’em. Yogurt!!!! Sheep, goat, and cow plus all the different flavors, I would say.
Is it just me or do there seem to be many more dark chocolate people on the blog than milk chocolate people? Obviously, we should have both options open, but it did seem like that.
Decorations…we should probably talk about…
99 – A Maypole sounds great. I even learned to do a maypole dance in 4th grade.
81 – I would hope not. I suppose it could be one of those things where people don’t come with dates, but ask people to dance when we do a dance that requires partners.
As for apparel, I would say for girls, longer than knee-length dresses. Not floor length, as they are hard to walk in and consequently to dance in. Of course, if girls wanted to wear formal pantsuits, that would be fine too.
116-I agree most vehemtly with your comments on a apparel. I know almost nothing about Maypoles. *blushes at ignorance*
116- But floor-length is OK if we want to wear floor-length. That’s pretty much all I have.
115- I love Bosnian food! I’ve never been to Bosnia, and pretty much know nothing about it, but I love the food. We have a really great restaurant in our town. *is willing to gush forever about the food, but doesn’t*
Oh. Yes. Decorations. Hmm.
117- A maypole dance is really easy. Basically, you just have a group of people, and everyone has a ribbon, and every other person dances widdershins, while the rest dance clockwise, and they all sort of…weave in and out. Like… argh. I can’t explain it. But it’s easy.
A few years ago we had a maypole dance with out friends, but I was the oldest there, maybe eleven. Everyone else was eight or younger, so we couldn’t get it right, and eventually people just ran around the pole with the ribbon and it wasn’t any fun at all. And we couldn’t do it again, because the thing about maypoles is that to undo the ribbons, you just have to turn around and dance the other way, but since there was no system to this, that wouldn’t have worked. That was the last maypole dance I attended. This year I think I’ll go to one, though.
116 – I like that.
Add bananas, apples, and mangoes (Philippine, the best ever) to the list!!!
We must have a ton of rice. I looove rice!
To answer a question from a few comments back: coming to the ball as a couple is allowed, but dates are neither mandatory, necessary, nor encouraged.
Why is it not encouraged?
We don’t discourage dates. We don’t care one way or the other. Come however you will enjoy the evening most.
118 – Of course, floor-length dresses are acceptable. Let’s just not have anyone tripping over their dresses.
Oh. Okay. I see. *plans and prepares*
this is so cool!
Is the place set? Because there’s a place near me that has beautiful lush gardens, with lots of hidden walkways and little hollows. It is quite possibly the most beautiful place I’ve ever been…if anyone’s interested, I can try and find pictures. Unfortunately, it has no rooftops. But it does have peacocks.
Tiramisu is a must. Also chocolate-covered strawberries. And a chocolate fountain. Yum!
129 – Well, I was assuming it would be at the rooftop garden in Muse Academy. And I agree that tiramisu is must.
Is anyone willing to compile a list of everything? I can’t do it now but in a little bit I might have a moment.
Pickled cauliflower (I know it sounds foul but it really isn’t) is actually a very nice hors d’ouvre.
131- Food wise, or EVERYTHING?
132-Foodwise
133- OK, I can do that. If I have time. I’ll start right now, and I’ll see how it goes.
OK, I don’t think I can unless I have time, which I don’t.
Thor Thorsson, a friendly Icelandic fisherman who delivers part of his catch to the kitchen and provides occasional ferry service to the mainland, says that his mother was excited to hear about the ball and insists on making some of her famous puffin puffs. They’re probably as vile as they sound, but I’m afraid there’s no polite way to refuse. We can put them on one of the more out-of-the-way tables.
135-Ok. I will do it in a bit.
136-Bit of an awkward situation. But still, a drop of culinary adventure never hurt (as long as their smell isn’t too bad). THeir presence should be mostly harmless.
137 – Mostly Harmless?
I recommend Nicaraguan Fried Cheese. Sounds strange, but it is excellent–salty and a little spicy, with a gooey crunch to it. I also would like to request spring rolls from the Vietnam II restaurant in Little Saigon, San Francisco. Unless we aren’t taking outside catering?
139-Fried cheese is delightful. I will compile the list eventually. Its gotten awfully long, which, if you ask me, is good. Poor caterers. Well, we can all lend a hand.
Can I wear my prom dress? I bought it today. It is gorgeous. It is midnight blue. It might help me blend in with the sky if we dance on the roof!
We need jurassic petite cheese, camembert, gorgonzola, and brie. no cheese plate is complete without brie!
Jurassic cheese? Like, cheeslets shaped like dinosaurs?
As I was sifting through posts, I find that you have been planning our wedding on this night. I say full steam ahead, lemme go find Hawk. *dashes off*
Or cheese made in the Jurassic? Hmmmm…
This ball is going to smell a little funny if we have gorgonzola – can we put it downwind of us?
This is great!
I’m can do tiramisu, and I know the H&H will cook up a large batch of eclairs!
Also, I could make some guacamole and salsa with a great recipe. Can Thor bring in some shrimp?
A Ball? Interesting. I probably won’t be on often enough to plan, but I’ll attend.
*is too lazy to compile list*
145-Tiramisu is yuuuuuummmmmmmmmmm!
ummmmm………….what color will the tablecloths be?
I say either light pink tablecloths or standard white. Oh, and we must have Venezuelan Beaver Cheese. Will there be crab rangoon?
YES, crab rangoons. I LOVE crab rangoons.
I say organic food only (the good kind) and vegetarian options.
How about periwinkle blue tablecloths? That sounds preeeeetty…
I’m creating mix ideas for the music… keepyou posted…
So what isn’t being taken care of? I will gladly head that committee…
Lots of vegetarian options!
How about scallion pancakes?
Vegetarian options? Tofu?
150-Periwinkle sounds like a lovely color, especially for spring.
Lots of veggie stuff!
Also, lots of seafood stuff.
154 – Sunshiney yellow!
Could I interest you in a puffin puff?
156 – A what?
156- umm, is it made of puffin meat?
(157) See comment 136.
(158) Presumably. Which means that they’re effectively seafood.
Here is the long promised compilation.

Wow! That is looong (one advantage of having a virtual ball is unlimited food). Sorry if I missed something.
159- One.
159 – Ah. Thanks for the enlightenment?
161 – Mangoes? As fruit? Can you have spoons near the cheddar cheese? I like grated plain cheddar cheese.
Aw. Is it too late to join the commitee?
I can do, like, decorations or something!
159-But…puffins are sea dwelling birds…so that wouldn’t really be seafood. Except I guess you could say that anything that lives in the sea is seafood…
(160) Don’t forget to add Helga Gunnarsdóttir’s Puffin Puffs, though we may have to bribe people to eat them.
(165) Puffins live on fish, and I’ve heard that puffin puffs taste pretty fishy. We’ll know if I manage to talk somebody into trying one. No, thanks, eh? Oh, well, there must be someone I haven’t asked yet… *wanders off*
166-They’re in there, however, I called them puffin balls by accident (see Hors D’Ouvres).
163-As soon as more suggestions come in, I will update the list.
There seems to be popular acclaim for seafood. Any specific ideas for dishes that I could include in the next compilation. I might, if I have time, use Photoshop and try to turn this into a proper parchment menu, but that won’t be for a little while. If I get around to it…which is only vaguely possible since I am pretty indolent!
I say, we must have cakes at the dessert table. This is a ball, after all. Oh, that reminds me, we should have a cheese ball in which to dip our crisps.
There are these things called salmon puffs, or phyllo purses, that are really good. You get phyllo dough and mix up salmon and cream cheese and cook them like little puff things and they’re amazing. I don’t really know how they make the center, but it’s all creamy and good.
Salmon is a very good fish and we should have a lot of it cooked in different ways.
We should have virgin strawberry daquiris! They are good and full of sugar and no alcohol (in case people don’t know what a virgin drink is)
Did we add tortolini?
We have to have that. It’s not a party without it.
I’ve got it! Along with our provisions already established, we could ask the Hare & Hedgepig to cater the event! Oh this will be a most splendid ball…
170-Tortellini w/pesto, tomato sauce, butter, but separatly!
Hypatia, thanks for the list!!!
153-I’ve got some good tofu recipes, too!
I love tortellini!
Thanks for the list.
Ummm….what else can we have….
Fishwise – smoked halibut? Or smoked scallops? Yum. *drools*
172/173-*is gratified over appreciation of the list*
*drools at mention of all these yummy foods*
shredded Parmesan cheese to put on the pasta, empanadas, mate, milanesa, samosas, tamales, Kash-e-bademjan, daal (things I’d like to add)
I believe that simple provisions will not be enough for a ball. We need to also focus on decorations, music, entertainment, et cetera.
176- well, I’m waiting on Paul’s answer to playing.
I can play piano…
178- Me too! How long have you been playing?
I am officially appointing myslef as Head of the Department of Tablecloth Design. So far we have sunshiney pastel yellow, periwinkle, and light pink. I think that’s good…
I don’t think my comment posted… how odd…
This “quick sketch” of mine is taking longer than i thought…
Who’s R-th?
WHAT IS MAY DAY?!???????????????
IVE ASKED ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!
AND IM NOT SAYING SORRY FOR THE TRIPLE POST!!!!!!!!
183- may first.
182- Red-tail Hawk, Leader of the Zemtee.
182 – Red-tailed HAWK! Misswann’s fiancee!
COuld we organize a couple of preliminary ballroom dancing classes?
How about leaves and flower petals weaved together for a tablecloth?
Oh, someone noticed im here… just saying, you musebloggers won’t make such good “tantrums won’t get you anything” book writers…
And how did it happen that they decided to get married? Will someone tell me the story?
Oh, sorry about the double post, but GAPAs, I sent you the “picture”…and I forgot to attach the picture itself! sorry about that…
there! now it’s there!
Did you get it yet?
177- He’s probably too busy being Grand Bailiff to play. We should find another musician, just in case Mr. Baker is unable to attend. I should hope he is able, though.
ummmmmmmmmmm……………..i just posted here, and i cant see it…..
If anyone is interested in jazz, I could play piano or trumpet or even haul my school jazz band in there. Other than that, I think we’ll need someone else.
Somebody mentioned having different kinds of music for people with different tastes. It sounds as if you’ll have to have three or four different sets, separated by intermissions.
I’m sure Mr. Baker will be finished with his card game by then.
Music? Weird Al, maybe?
NerdAndProudOf It sent the following with this description:
If we can’t get live music, They Might Be Giants is always a possibility. That’s almost universally liked.
Oh! You got it! Hurrah!
And-that’s not quite true, I did not send the description WITH the picture.
(196) Oh. Well, they were in the same email when I got them.
195 – I don’t like them. Joking. Actually I’ve never heard them.
195- true. But I do wish Paul would play.
197-That’s strange…….I’ll go check them……..Well, I sent them in two different ones……Maybe your inbox has a thing that attaches attachments from emails titled “oops” to the email right before it.
post 187?
Music? We obviously need something live, like Paul or Fiddler or Glassboro or something.
And then we need some good rock. BB? LP?
Cool picture!
195- YES. TMBG! Or TMBG and Paul both!
187- I ACTUALLY told the story in detail around post 60ish… but hey, I’ll tell it again… In the Leap Day thread, Hawk was complaining about how no girls had proposed to him that day (the 29th is the only day that females are traditionally *allowed* to propose to men) and me, being the kind and sensitive person that I am, asked him if he would marry me. And the story still lives. Now we’re getting married!
202- I’ve got one word for you: Paramore.
So far we have 3 piano players. (me, bookworm, and speller) and music suggestiions stand at this:
Rock (Beavo)
Paramore (Me) (best band in the world, btw)
They Might Be Giants (POSOC)
Weird Al (Kokonilly)
Jazz (speller)
Various Genres (Robert)
Chris Rice (me)
Avril Lavigne (me)
I’ll start making a mix!
Beatles!
Joanna Newsom! Tim van Eyken! Csokolom! Casey Niell! Andrew Bird! Josephine Foster!
Although this is “uncool” could we please have some opera and classical music?
I think there should be lots of swing, and a few slow songs, and lots of dancable things.
I like dancing!!!!
I think more guys should come on this thread.
UNCOOL? Opera is amazing and so is classical! I love guitar music (particularly Andalusian) too. And cabaret. Wow, we are all going to need personal MP3 players! Just kidding
! Itsa gonna be super fun. Will it be on a seperate thread? RPG format, I assume. How will we reconcile time zone differences? *brain implodes*
209- Uncool? Maybe. But who cares? I love classical.
209-You must be new on the blog. Or not. But really, since when is classical/opera not cool?
I was bored so I went on the other parts of internet and looked for dresses. I found that I actually think the conservative ones are prettier than the normal prom dresses that people wear. *hears the sound of no response*
*has been using a lot of ***s today*
209~ Uum, no. Classical music is not uncool. That slot seems to ba occupied by folk music of the same time period. Or most of the stuff on my iPod, if you ask most teenagers who aren’t as accepting as the MB seems to be.
But classical music for sure, there should be some real dancing, not just that infernal hopping that everyone seems to do these days. *goes into long and rambling rant that is too tedious to out down here*
213- *tries to sing song that she doesn’t know* *fails* What do you mean, conservative ones?
214- Yes, real dancing! Well, in all fairness, the infernal hopping is dancing too, just not the kind I like. I think there should be dance classes in the morning or something, so we know how to dance.
Supposedly E (class of 2011 class president, she’s really cool) is going to try to make the dances play better music. What she means by better music, I’m not sure, and it’s probably NOT the kind of music I like, but still, if it’s more tolerable and actual dancing is done, I’ll go to the dances.
Except that they cost a lot.
207 – w00t! Beatles!
Sorry everyone!
I know some people wouldn’t be open to Classical Music, which s why I wrote my message that way. Just two clarifications: i am new, and I am a boy.
217-Well, this isn’t the neophytes thread, but *piepiepie*! And don’t worry about someone not liking some of the music. We can’t make every single MBer perfectly happy. Besides, no one has said they don’t like it.
Beatles has been added, along with Alice’s various suggestions. And opera, swing, and lots of classical.
*is excited*
This is gonna be marvelous! I might do the fancy menus over the weekend, however, if I do, I will have to include a very condensed version of the list. What should I cut and what should I take?
This sounds so cool! I can’t wait…
As for music, what about the trans siberian orchestra? It’s pretty awesome. Also, since I am such a bad dancer, we should have some songs that everyone can dance to. Even if they’re silly kid songs.
(I can’t be the only bad dancer! Right? no.)
Hey before you guys finalize the music, i have some input…
I second the motions for Weird Al and Trans-Sib. Orchestra, and would like to add a request for my band to join in the music.
Also, +44 or Fall Out Boy, definitley great bands. Sum 41’s good, if we can get Dave Baksh to play.
221- I’m a terrible dancer, but use it to humiliate myself any chance i get! (I even made up a dance called the Traffic Cop)
215-The dresses that go to the knee or lower, and include sleeves of some sort, or at least not those halter tops with the v-neck down to the belly button. If you go on LDS (latter day saints) fashion sites there are really neat ones. (yes, the LDS has fashion sites, because they are super conservative in dress)
I’m not the best dancer. I can do the infernal hopping sorts of dance, but I’m not so great at the finer ones.
222 – I’ve never heard of any of those.
Re: attire: What about just knee-length or longer dresses for girls, and collared shirts and no jeans for guys? And no tennis shoes.
225-I think that’s good. If people plan on dancing they should wear things that won’t get in the way.
226 – Yes. That too.
Musicwise…
Fleetwood Mac! And The Bobs, and The Roches, and..and..and..yeah. *stops obscure-band-listing*
Dresses. Hmmm. *ponders* *has a hard time pondering because of nonexistent fashion sense*
228 – I don’t have any fashion sense either. I just thought of two things:
Fancy
Practicalibility
A woman on the Icelandic mainland just phoned, said some very complimentary things about Muse Academy, and offered to sing with her band for the May Day Ball. I thanked her but told her that the set list was already overcrowded and that she should call back next year. She said her name was Björk Guðmundsdóttir — probably some local folk musician.
230 – Nice name. I wonder what kind of music she plays? Icelandic music? What would that sound like?
223-WHY must they have sleeves? can the rule be like at school, where the strap must be at least one inch? that would be better…
225-Why no jeans? Jeans look better on guyst han any other pants, and also, collared shirts look scary on most guys unless they’re 14 and up. Do we really want all the guys to look ugly?
As for my music suggestions, could you bring a boombox or something outside, where the music does not have to be dance music, and play the disk Under the Violet . I cant see what im writing now, so ill make another post in a sec.
I’ll do my music suggestions over again.
As for my music suggestions, could you bring a boombox or something outside, where the music does not have to be dance music, and play the disk Under the Violet Moon by Blackmore’s Night? I don’t know, maybe someone already suggested this, but I think it would be cool, so just in case…
How did everyone like my picture?
I wish this could actually happen….it would be so awesome!
211 – I think time zone differences can easily be reconciled if the ball just lasts all day. I think that’s being planned on, anyways, so it shouldn’t be too bad.
(233) What’s the point of calling it a ball if people show up in jeans?
234- But they must be CIVILIZED jeans-no holes on knees, no shreds of string at the bottom, no flies unzipped. They must also be either the darker blue kind or black. And not baggy, and the top of the jeans should be AT THE WAIST, not under the butt-see, it looks perfectly fine!
(237) A ball is a formal event — generally with floor- or ballerina-length gowns and tuxedos. Otherwise, it’s a dance.
237 – Balls generally don’t have jeans. And it’s FINE if they don’t wear jeans. I know guys who look a heck of a lot less scruffy when in dress pants.
I concurr. Gowns and tuxedos for everyone.
What about pinstripe suits? or just a plain old busness suit? Does it have to be a Tux?
-4 what????? Rt-H and MissSwan are *gasp* getting married?????
(241)
Relax, TMFA. You’ll all look wonderful.
Don’t forget your formal mini-pie pillows, made of velvet in house colors and worn at the wrist.
sorry I’ve been gone for so long, it’s due to my dad’s love of turning my internet off. Can anyonoe tell me the current menu?
242- Welcome to Earth. I’ve made that announcement on pretty much every thread.
230- A woman on the Icelandic mainland?????? Robert, you never cease to amaze me.
I say that girls should wear dresses that aren’t really slutty and guys can wear slacks and button-up shirts. Barefootedness should be an option!
GAPAs, I’m emailing you the dress I want to wear.
So, what isn’t being taken care of? Lighting? Music? Valet parking? Anything I can help with? Please?
(245, 230) Yes. She seemed to think I should have heard of her.
I just found my dress for the ball! It’s blue and sparkly and really pretty!
My ideal dress for the ball would be the one I wore as Maria in Twelfth Night. Of course, I don’t have it, so I can’t take a picture of it, and it’s not online since my humanities teacher’s mother made it. Maybe I’ll try cropping one of the pictures from the play so you can just see the dress.
245- This is a ball, not a dance. Shoes should remain on at all times. We could host an afterparty where more casual attire would be an option. Or not; it’s getting kind of late to plan for that.
I have NO dresses, and only two skirts. This may present a problem, but I need a dress anyway for the 8th grade dance in June. My school is sexist and you can’t wear pants if you’re a girl. I already said that somewhere.
249 – How did you get that name? It sounds a bit Hobbitish. (No offense intended.)
252- It does sound hobbitish. I write fantasy stories, and Sunrunner Bramblewood is one of my character’s names.
I have a dress for the ball – it was fashioned from various other skirts and bits of things, so it isn’t great, but it is formal enough. I might send a picture later…
253 – I thought you got your name from the Warriors series.
I have a dress. But I’m not sure if it’s knee-length, considering how much I have grown… I also have a Chinese dress… *mumbles*
To whomever is panicking because of the dress issue:
Remember that this is only a virtual ball. That means virtual dresses and tuxes. You do not have to own a real dress/tux to attend.
I just realized that, Piggy. I think we all needed that.
One more time- Is anything not being taken care of? I will be perfectly willing to do whatever there is left to do. Please somebody give me a job, this is the third time I’ve asked.
It would be useful to have an environmental subcommittee to make sure the ball stays as clean and “green” as possible. Would that job interest you?
259- I agree, that would be useful.
Did you get my dress? *nibbles lip and nails*
I’ll join the enviromental subcomittee!
253 – Oh. I was remembering this Hobbit/Elf Name Generator I saw on the Internet once. It’s a good name for a fantasy character.
259 – Me too! It sounds more useful than planning my dress right now. Wait…*reads comment 256* OH! THANK YOU! Wow. I feel stupid now.
Well, that makes things much easier. I drew a random dress today on my English homework for no apparent reason. I shall color it in and “wear” it to the ball!
(261) MissSwann’s gown for the ball:
Awesome dress!
Wow, Misswann, you look older than I thought you did.
You look very nice in that dress, if I do say so myself.
Wait is that really Misswann or just a model in the dress.
If it’s Misswann, you are very pretty, and if it’s not, I like the dress anyway.
I should find a dress, but there’s so many I like!
256- good point. Maybe I’ll (virtually) embellish my (real) prom dress.
First off for the enviromental subcomittee, NO PAPER PLATES! We need to use all reusable things, when possible!
Sure! Biodegradable streamers, reusable plates, the works.
Miss Swann, I love your dress!
266- *snort* Are you kidding? That’s a model. If I were that thin/good with makeup/pretty, I’d be on my way to hollywood. I found it on promgirl.com. And I’m blonde.
271 – Well, I thought she WAS blonde… just goes to show you, I’m fashion, color, and regular blind.
Actually, my prescription is -5.00. And getting worse…
Ooo, nice dress!
My (virtual) dress is royal bluish and (duh) turquoise! hehe
272 – I’m sorry. Glasses sound sucky.
if the plates aren’t going to be paper (which are sort of dull looking plates anyways) we should have them be a motley of china patterns that are all pretty yet different.
273 – They’re not that bad. -has glasses- You can get contacts if you really hate them, too. -has contacts on right now, for soccer-
275 – Ooh! Let’s use the H&H’s china! It’s beautiful.
275 – negative 5-point-oh isn’t that bad??????????? try it.
H&H’s plates is a great idea! Let’s ask Master Baker and Lady Bunniful if we can use them!
And H&H spoons and saucers. Wee! I always though it would be fun if we put a big wheel in the center of the party and link it up to a power generator and ask people to spin the wheel whenever they walked by. And then to see if they could generate enough energy to compensate for the amount they used. By the way, does MA have solar panels? Or does it run on mostly harmless power?
I tried wearing my friend’s glasses for a day once and I walked into a wall. I have 20-20 vision.
I am immensly confused. I apologize, busy schedules take away from museblog time….anyway, missswan and Red-Tailed HAWK are getting married? Please explain! I am so confused about everything practically….like this ball.
I would love to wear a midnight blue, floor length dress!!! I wish this could really happen. *hint hint* We should have a kokoconvention ball…..*hint hint*.
276 – No, I meant that glasses aren’t that bad.
278 – That sounds really fun.
280 – Basically, Leap Day is traditionally the day when women can propose to men. Hawk was complaining (jokingly) that nobody had proposed to him, so MissSwann (jokingly) asked to marry him. One thing led to another, and here we are now.
281 – Aww. How cute. ♥
I need to go draw my dress before musical starts again. Whee! Musical!
281- Thanks for explaining! I don’t know if I should change into my gown after the wedding, or if I should just not have the gown. But I really like the gown… hm…
Make the gown be your wedding dress!
278-I believe solar panels, but if not, I’ll install some!
281-Thanks! I am no longer confused.
272-im -4…
GAPAs, did you get my gown? And I’ve decided NOT to make a sketch of the outside.
MissSwann, Whay is “swan” spelled wrong in your username?
I like your dress, but I would not like to wear it myself. I love my dress, though…
sorry for the triple post, but missswann, i went to promgirl.com and looked for ur dress under “green dresses” and could not find it…
281 – Ohhhhhhhhhh. Yes, I agree.
287- I think (Not sure) it’s after some one in Pirates of the Caribbean.
287- Or, it could be after Bella Swann in the vampire romance series (Stephanie Meyer).
Um, GAPAs? Did you get my dress yet?
291- Yes! her other favorite Fandom!
NAPOI’s ball gown:
294 – Huh? I don’t see a picture.
Oh, I see it now. Pretty!
Why wasn’t it showing up before?
(296) Because adding images is a two-part process, and my temperamental internet connection timed out right after I submitted the comment.
294-Ohhh!!!!!!!! I love it!
I need to send one once I decide. I wish I could have a bunch of pretty dresses and actually have places to wear them.
I sent mine in. I just picked a pretty random one from promdress dot net.
I finished the drawing of my dress! It looks a bit kimono-ish/princess-ish. But oh well. It’s royal blue with turquoise trim? not sure if that’s the right word. Once I scan it, I’ll send it in! It took me sooo long to draw.
I sent in a dress picture that I found off google. it looks somewhat similar to my prom dress which I bought at a thrift store and couldn’t find a picture of the actual dress I have.
No one’s posted in a while…
I think that for the ball, we should have a separate thread…Though we may need to make a second one in the middle of the ball, i think it will be rather crowded. I also think that whatever thread it is on,pictures of everyone’s dresses should be posted on top, saying whose they are. Then we could kind of know what to complliment people on.
Can I send a picture of my dress with me wearing it, but with my faced smudged out, without parental permission? I don’t mind getting permission, but it might take a while.
287- Well, when I first started using MB, I was absolutely RABID for Pirates of the Caribbean (nice call M4Aeiou). Miss Elizabeth Swann has two ‘n’s in her name. Thus, MissSwann. Although, Sunrunner Bramblewood had a point about the possibility of a Twilight name, even though Bella only uses one n (and she spelled Stephenie wrong). And I don’t know why you couldn’t find my dress.
294- OOOH! Pretty.
No one’s posted in a while…
Hello..helloooo…hellooooooooo
I will send in my dress eventuallyyyyyy!
Unless i find a better dress.
My dress has been redesigned and redrawn three times, but I’m pretty sure it is now complete! And as near perfect as it is going to get. Once I find a scanner, I will email the GAPAs. And you all get to see my beautiful artwork! *laughs hysterically*
More gowns. From Kokonilly and oxlin, respectively.
Once again, they are pretty, but I wouldn’t want to wear them. I like the color of oxlin’s better, though.
No one’s poste in a long time…
Sorry for triple post, but…
When the ball does take place 9in the Musiverse, I mean), can ther be a separate thread for the ballroom and the roof garden? cuz otherwise it might be very confusing.
They’re all lovely. I’ll send mine in eventually, if I get a chance to take a photo. Which I might not. If I don’t, I’ll just write a description.
Mine is the first one. Again, very random. In reality I would probably just wear a long skirt and a dressy shirt.
But I’m too lazy to take a picture of my favorite (meaning only) dressy outfit.
313- I’m too lazy to take a picture of my actual dress. my real dress is like that but with only one strap and no sash thing. I bought it at a thrift store so it isn’t online.
I think you all know what i’d say right now if not for the “wordpress warning: duplicate comment detected. It appears you have already said that”………….
(311) About the separate threads for separate locations at the May Day Ball: good idea! It may take all month to describe the ball and recount (or play out) all that happens there.
Lovely! I love Oxlin’s, myself…
GAPAs, should I e-mail you the mix I’m making? Or would that be unneccessary?
Well, I’ll send you a picture… It’s of me, but only my back. If it’s not OK to post it, tell me, and I’ll get my mom to write you – she says it’s OK with her though.
Cinnamoon – as long as your face isn’t showing, I think it’s fine to post the photo. Unless the other GAPAs see a cause for concern.
so, when will the ball begin?
Er… Will there be optional dance instruction a day or so before the Ball? Bacause I can’t dance anything. At all. Though I am willing to learn classical and morris dancing.
My friend may have a scanner….
(320) It will begin on May 1 and may last a whole month in blog time (equivalent to a few hours of Muse Academy time).
(321) Lessons have been going on for weeks. By now all MA-ers have learned everything they’ll need to know in order to take part and enjoy themselves to the utmost. That includes your MA student self. Of course, there will be last-minute refreshers, too.
321-If you want a crash course, I’m pretty good and could probably teach you.
321- I can do belly dancing… I got one of those little ‘belly dancers in a box’ kits at Barnes and Noble… and dirty dancing… but I doubt that would be appropriate.
Cinnamoon’s gown:
Ooh, pretty gowns, everyone! I’d love to send in a picture of mine, if I had a camera.
323- Aha. I have suddenly regained my memory of these dance classes. How could I have forgotten them? (perhaps I was repressing that incident with the chair, my foot, and the punch they had been testing earlier…)
Music-wise, if we’re going to include stuff like TMBG, can we throw in some stuff I really enjoy? (not that TMBG is bad, exactly, I’ve listened to them a bit but… I just don’t like them. I dunno). Not like full out-metal, of course, but possibly some of the softer, folky ballad type songs? (On the Morning Dew/A poem for the Firmament by Elvenking, New Born Race by Ayreon, that kind of thing. Which you people should go listen to on Youtube XD)
As or a gown, I will have to think on this. There’s two that I own, but google is fun also, and could come up with some nice stuff
(328) Sorry about the punch. The people who added cochineal didn’t know where it came from and didn’t realize it was non-vegetarian.
I am so excited. Eep!!!
326-OOOOOOOOOOh, Pretty! I love that………..
328- I was planning to find a random purple dress and photoshop it to make it better, but After some thought, I decided it was already okay, and All I did was the background and jewelry, plus I added shoulders and hands off of another purple dress(very convinient, if you ask me……..TOO convenient).
As you can tell from my dress, I am not serious AT ALL, and I like light blue.
I like your dress, Cinnamoon!
what the heck is so exiting about a ball??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can’t wait for the ball I’ll hve to find a good dress!
320- hmm. That’s interesting. Museica time is 1/12 of blog time (“real time”, but as Ford prefect says: “Time is an illusion. Lunchtime, Doubly so.”)
I found one here’s a picture of it!
337- Um, What?
Of My dress of couse it just that the GAPA’s haven’t posted the picture of it yet.
[It’s up now. –Admin.]
337- I like your dress! I think it should have been longer however…
326-Cinnamoon, is that really you *faints*
You’re pretty!
Your dress is a bit short, but very nice!!!!
I loveeee Cinnamoon and Queen Francios dresses. They’re very pretty.
I’m going to go send mine now! yay!
343-I’m excited. I wonder what it will look like…
Is absolutely everything planned out for the ball? If not, we should just keep the clothes as a surprise. Again, are there any loose ends to tie up in 5 days?
345-Do we need lights?
I can get some energy-effective ones, if we do!
When do we start cooking?
Cooking will begin this weekend. The puffin puffs *shudder* are being prepared separately and will arrive by boat.
336 – HitchHiker’s Guide! <3
I hope I can come and my parents do not kill my computer time on that day.
Cinamoon, is that really you??? You look like Ginny Weasley! And the dress looks really pretty. Kind of vintage.
337- So pretty!
Karinnn Tayyy’s gown:
341- Yes. *Throws water* Thank you!
349- Yes, that is me. But my hair looks red in the picture, and it isn’t.
Huray for energy efficent lights!
*Blushes because she is embarrased at being such an enviormental freek.*
Don’t be embaressed!
It’s a great thing to be an enviromental freak!
352- Do NOT, at any costs, be ashamed of your enviornmental geek/freekery. If more people were active about the enviornment, we may actually have a world to live in in 1000 years.
350- *faint* OMG, that’s my favorite so far.
*pies everyone who is NOT an environmental freak*
354-
It seems that a lot of MBers have very good fashion sense, at least when it comes to formal events.
I like clothes, just not how much they cost, so you wouldn’t really know how much I like fashion most of the time.
Hooray for environmentally friendly lights!!!
I love your dress Queen Francois! I can’t wait to see it live.
I’ll send in a picture of my graduation dress sometime.
Ooh, pretty!
Here’s mine
I usually don’t were gowns, but I will wear that one for the…… wedding probably. Can I play a song? On the guitar. And sing. You know, entertainment. Probably In My Life (The Beatles), Got to Get You Into my Life (The Beatles) , and Your my best Friend (Queen). You guys can pick any song. Those are just what I’m best at, The Beatles! Again, I don’t know if that’s what I’m going to wear, there’s another one that might be good. But I have the worst fashion sense. So, you guys pick which ones better, that one (359) or this one
EverybodyCLAPYOURHANDS! is Beatlesrocker’s alter ego, right?
361 – Yes.
I like the second one more, Beatlesrockr. Nice choice of songs, I may add.
Beatlesrockr: I like both of them, but I think the white with blue flowers one is better.
Woooo this is so cool!
*needs to take a picture of her dress* Argh! I need a camera!
Ok than. The one with blue and white? I’ll wear that one for the wedding (as said earlier) and wear the green one for the ball. Plus, it’s the May Day ball so, it’s kinda SPRINGY! Thankyou!
I will wear a nice green dress for the wedding, and the blue dress for the ball.
Can we have a new thread, please? This is dying out because it’s not on the main page anymore.
366-It isn’t really dying out, all we need to do is memorize the page number!
What? We need a separate dress for the wedding?
367- No, it’s just, I don’t like dresses, and I don’t have a good fashion sense, so I asked which one was better (359, or 360) So I’m wearing one for the Wedding and the other for the ball. So, you guys like the songs, or should I change them?
Since everyone else is planning on wearing different virtual dresses to my virtual wedding, I might as well find a virtual wedding dress. *dashes off to find weddign gown*
I don’t even think RtH knows we’re getting married @ the MDB. Perhaps the GAPAs could inform him?
Mkay, GAPAs, I just sent you my dress. I think it’s really pretty!!!
370- I wonder what it looks like……..
*Glides in* Whoa! What’s happening!
I peeked in on this thread a couple of times, but didn’t have time to post. This is quite exciting, I must say! And it’s cool to be able to see the dresses!
I can’t believe the wedding is so soon
*Faints* *Falls to floor* *Gets up again*
I have to go in a minute, but I’ll check in on this thread when I come next. I apologize for not being on the blog to help with the planning! Is there something I can still do?
*Glides out again* *Looks back and waves to soon-to-be-wife*
Red-tailed HAWK

I finally took a picture of my drawing! It is really medieval-princessish. *finds digital camera* *emails*
373-when’s it going to be on here?
373- Cool.
MissSwann: do you want your wedding dress posted now or would you prefer to wait until the day of the wedding?
May 1st would be nice.
372- *wave back* You know, when I proposed to you, I didn’t really know we would actually be marrying. Ah, well.

Are you going to open up a separate thread for the ball/wedding?
Bit of a dumb question here, but how does one go about posting a picture of their dress? I’d really like to show everybody mine, but I’m technologically incompetent and can’t figure it out.
379- E-mail the GAPAs at gapa @ musefanpage.com. They take it from there.
378- Maybe… I don’t want to make too big of a deal… with my virtual wedding and all…
GAPAs? Did you get my email?
I found my dress (actually my graduation dress).
Soo…just checking, since I already sent it, but if I want to post my ball gown, I send it attached to an email, right? And the address is gapa@musefanpage.com? Like I said, bit of a moot point, but I figured I’d better check…
I need to find the digital camera! It is GONE……nice woody word that….GONE……(Python)
More gowns:
for Nthanda the Laugher:

and NAPOI’s choice for the wedding:

I love it, Nthanda.
386- I agree.
speller, i like your gown…………..same goes for Nthanda.
MISSSWANN’S CRITIQUE ON DRESSES:
Me: Gorgeous, as always
NAPOI: A bit bright, but VERY pretty nonetheless.
Kokonilly: Bright and fun, very airy and comfy-looking. Thumbs up!
Oxlin: A bit plain and dark.
Sorry, the comment box shunk. Cont’d;
oxlin: but very elegant-looking.
Cinnamoon: Nice velvety colour-contrast. Perhaps a bit hot for a spring dance? But still, very pretty.
Queen Francois: Nice ruffles, a bit short, very appropriate.
Karinnn Tayyy: GORGEOUS!!!!! I approve.
Beatlesrockr: Nice colour and the gold threads are very pretty. Nice!
Comment box again
EverybodyCLAPYOURHANDS!: Pretty opening in the front, and the blue designs are gorgeous.
Speller: J’adore! I like the netted neck.
Nthanda: BEST DRESS! Sooooooo pretty. I love the medieval princess feel.
NAPOI 2: I like the bright colour, andthe style is very flattering.
That’s all, and sorry for triple post!!! Comment boxes and all, you see.
Naturally, I’d wear a tux, but if it was an all dress party, I guess this’d be my choice.

Oh, gosh, I suck at keyboard pictures.
Never mind, I won’t show THAT much skin.
You know what, I might as well send my picture to the GAPAs.
394-Wait………are you a boy or a girl?
I can’t believe the ball is tomorrow! All our dreams…….coming true……..weeks of planning……………….powder blue…….
Sorry. Got carried away
I’d like to ask one thing-in posts 302 and 311, I made some suggestions as to the ball actually being hosted.
Question-when will the ball begin by california time? I don’t want to be more than 4 hours late!
Will the ball be on a new thread?
I am male, and I hate fancy dress!
Therefore, I will wear regular clothes…
397- I hate fancy dresses too. I’ll wear one for the wedding. But, does it have to be dresses? What about nice black pants and a nice shirt? or Jeans and and t-shirt? URGH!
And when will the ball start? Because I can’t stay long because I have this big thing after school. *pouts* It HAD to be tomorrow! I can host the ball if you like. Probably I can host maybe, half of it because I’ll be gone at like, 7:00. Oh, and we need to make a list of performances! Anybody who’s gonna preform, tell us now. Once again here are the songs I’m going to play anybody doesn’t like them.
In My Life (The Beatles), Got to Get You Into my Life (The Beatles) , and Your my best Friend (Queen)
(397, 398) May I refer you to comments 238 and 256, among others. Live a little!
Guys, if you don’t dress up it’s not a ball. If it’s not a ball there’s no point. Come on, just this once?
I know. *freaks out* I have only worn one once before and my mom put that on for me because I was a baby! I don’t know how to put on a dress
hehe.
400 – Precisely. Though I suppose if a girl wanted to wear a fancy pantsuit, that would be acceptable.
The advantages to virtual garments, balls, and characters is that you know that everything will fit perfectly and look wonderful. Relax, please! It’s going to be fine.
Ooh, I love that green dress. I always did like bright colors.
I need to find a dress, I guess…
Both for the May Ball, and for real life.
395-Beavo is a boy.
392/393-Haha! I wonder what you would look like in that dress…
Awkward.
I like everyone’s dresses on here.
Would anyone like to see the THING I had to wear to that wedding. You know, the one with the GINORMOUS pants and kinda weirdish shirt? *shudders* At least I wasn’t too miserable for the pre- wedding party, that was ok because I got to wear nice pants and a itchy shirt.
I can’t find the digital camera! Maybe I’ll just go on…umm…what was the website again? Where everyone else found their dresses?
395- XD LOL!!!!!!!! Beavo the girl!!!!!!!!!!
395-Wouldn’t you like to know.
Boy, but I found a really pretty dress, and randomly decided to send it to the GAPAs just in case anyone else wants to wear it. My tux is already rented.
409-I get enough of that at school, thank you very much. *glares at MissWann until her hair falls out*
Kidding, gosh. Ceept about the school part. Thank GOSH my voice dropped as fast as it did. Otherwise I’d be like some sort of short drag queen.
410-*in singsong voice* You’re not answering my QUEstion…………….
407 – Yes. It sounds strange.
410 – You just don’t seem like a girl. I can’t see that, somehow.
GAH! Stupid digital camera! Can someone tell me what the dress website is?
410- No, I was laughing because of the ridiculuosness of you being female. You’re very masculine in my mind, Beev.
Shouldn’t this thread be shut down? I mean the MDB is already happening, we don’t really need to plan anymore…
413 – I agree.
(413) Well, you never know when someone might need to dash off and run an errand or pick up something from home.
411-BOY. BOY BOY BOY.
412-I would hope that you couldn’t see that. Because it isn’t.
415-Or tell people their gender. Because everyone always comes on here and gets gender confused, right?
GIRL. GIRL. GIRL.
Everybody thinks I’m a guy for some reason…
416-Of course! As soon as this thread loaded I had no clue if I was a boy or girl. Gender confusion is hard!
I am off to the ball!
BOY! BOY! BOY!
GIRL GIRL GIRL GIRL!!!
not many people get gender confused with me, but just making sure
420- I thought you were a guy until you sent in your dress.
GIRL! GIRL! GIRL! GIRL! Why would anyone think I’m a guy when I have the word Miss in my name?????
421-Yeah, I was about to say.
This thread is dead. Let’s just face it.
423- Yeah, the May Day Ball already started, so this thread is dead.
“Dead” is such a loaded word. This thread is still valuable as a reference for looking up details such as the menu and the pictures of people’s gowns.
I’ve never understood the point of declaring a thread dead — except as a way of trying to revive it, which in this case nobody seems to be doing.
I’ll officiate at the wedding, if you don’t already have someone!
I say this thread MUST NOT close, and must be open to comments!
yes, it MUST! hmmm…do you think I should ware my black hoodie and tan cargo pants…? very formal. *snigger* *snigger*
GIRL GIRL GIRL
despite semi-popular opinion that I’m a boy…
I haven’t worn a dress in *thinks* *counts on fingers* *runs out of fingers* oh, ages…
428- Yes, you should.
wait…what’s the music?
236- NO JEANS? No holes? No embroidery?
This is a dead thread…but I suppose I could send in some pictures…
MissSwann: Heyyy this thread is STILL OPEN!!!!!!! Yayayayayyyyyyy!!!!! This was one of my fav threads… yay!
432- It’s open! Good for you!
hahahahaha it is. weird.
?
My my, still open?
