May-hem

MuseBlog’s monthly random thread gives a nod to (1) the blog’s penchant for outbreaks of chaos and (2) Muse Academy’s long-awaited May Day Ball, taking place all month long (in regular universe-time) on a thread of its own.

(Users’ Manual: Obey The Rules. Consult The Guide. Have fun!)

except i had a chem test today, and making up chem tests is WAY more trouble than it’s worth, so i went in for the first 2 periods (chem is 2nd) and then left. it was funny, because i went down to the office to sign out and jake was there signing out too (he’s a kid in my chem class). he must’ve come in just for the test too.

but then i remembered i had to buy a prom ticket, because they don’t sell them at the door (which is dumb but whatever) so i went back at lunch.

kind of funny, everybody in our group is kind of like “meh, prom but rocky horror’s gonna be awesome!” (that’s our after-party. the official school one is at a fitness center, which is so lame. it’s usually gameworks but i guess we couldn’t get it this year)

I love my project. I just love it. Which is strange, considering up until about half an hour ago I hated it.

I was…really upset. Really, really upset. Among other things, my soccer team just lost two close games in a row, our leading scorer is out for the rest of the season and will be on a different team after that, one of my best friends and I just had a fight, and my brother is being an idiot. Other than that, almost everything is fine.

Since I obviously couldn’t talk to my friend…since he and I are fighting…and MuseBlog moderation was slow, I decided to work on my project. Well, the first part of the project, the part I’m working on right now, involves finding inspirational quotes about leadership.

There is no better way to feel a little bit happier when you’re upset then reading 80 inspiration quotes about leadership.

95 – Ooh, that was a spelling word. And it was the word of the day at some point during Bee Week last year. *searches* Ah, here we go. May 29:

a musical note with the time value of 1/64 of a whole note : sixty-fourth note

    It adds:
Hemidemisemiquavers are the fastest musical notes that are commonly played, and performing them well can stretch human technique to its limit. The term is mainly used in Britain, where eighth notes are called “quavers,” sixteenth notes are called “semiquavers,” and thirty-second notes are called “demisemiquavers.” In the United States, “hemidemisemiquaver” is likely to be used humorously, occurring especially as a clever substitute for “moment” or “bit,” as in “the concert ended not a hemidemisemiquaver too soon.”

Basically, you answer questions about vocabulary (the words are hard! Trust me!) and for every question you get right they donate 20 grains of rice to the UN World Food Program that’s trying to end world hunger. I highly recommend that all of you check it out. ;)

I’M TIRED OF HOMEWORK. even though I haven’t done a whole lot of it yet today. Ugh. I typed up the paper that I’ve supposed to have been writing forever ago, and that took longer than I expected, but it’s done. Or very near to anyway, if mom isn’t satisfied with it this way.

On another note, my normally straight hair is all curly today. We experimented with rag curls, and I look like my head exploded. More so on the right side, because the left didn’t work as well. It’s amusing, and because it’s raining here it’s gotten all limp again, save a few determined loops.

I think I’ll go have some more of that cheesecake, I’m hungry again……and do homework, eew.

OK, funny story. First you ought to know that our assistant principal is a very funny but rather intimidating man. He has a perpetual poker face, and so it is impossible to tell whether he approves or disapproves of anything. So today, all the seniors went to see a movie. That meant that Elijah was not in Acting class, and so all we could do was run lines. And, well, we got distracted. Mariah found a bunch of metal rods, a hockey stick, a rubber chicken, and a ball of yarn, and the entire practice session degenerated into chaos. Here is a brief description of the chaos:
-Will and I are dueling with two of the metal rods.
-Mariah is using the ball of yarn as a ball and the hockey stick as a bat
-Haley is playing with the chicken and a metal rod
    -The assistant principal walks in

My back was to the house (we were in the auditorium), so I had no idea until I heard Will say, “Hey, it’s J-.”
-Haley throws the rubber chicken offstage
-Will and I are frozen, our dueling rods still in position
    -There is nervous laughter
Assistant principal (J-): *doesn’t appear to notice chaos* Is C– S– here?

It was hilarious, although it does lose something in translation.

it rains way too much here. WAY too much. like every day too much. we went out on the roof today because it was only sprinkling, but then it started pouring. so we had to walk back to bill’s. and while i love walking in the rain, it was really cold in her basement. walking home kind of sucked as well. wet…cold…early…not much fun.

i have to do my story too…this weekend, because they’re due to section editors tues. (we just trade, there are at least 2 editors per section). and i have a poll to pass out monday to 100 people. lauren and lizzy said they’d pass it out to their classes too though so it should be ok

  311. Faye Beauchamp says:

    Hullo there.

I just thought I’d stop by and send my greetings and love to all.

Things have been going well for me. I’ve been accepted into several schools, but have chosen to attend Berklee, the school of music, to study rock and cello. The others (including the New England Conservatory, the Peabody Institute, and Rice University) weren’t as heavy in alternative forms of music as I would have liked. So Berklee it is.

My boyfriend asked me to marry him. I said no. We love each other very much and we’ve been together for five years, but I’m just not ready to make such a huge and serious commitment as matrimony. We’ve agreed to spend some time apart, to allow ourselves to get to know other people before we discuss engagement again.

I’ve been kicked out of the house by my parents. We got into a huge fight, and so I’m now staying with a friend. It’s okay – my friend is part of my band, so we just rock out more often. But it’s tough, fighting with your parents.

I finally got to see an Apocalyptica concert. Apocalyptica was the band who first put me onto this rock cellist track – they’re a quartet of four cellists who will rock your socks off. It was… really inspirational. I’ve been motivated to work even harder.

Voice is now my seventh instrument. I’ve been taking lessons and am told I have a lot of talent. I dunno about that – I just wanted to improve my singing so that when I randomly burst into song, I don’t annoy people. lawl. But we’ll see where that goes.

My band and I are working on another CD, this one entitled “The Noble House of Black”. It’s our first (and probably last) Wizard Rock album, in which I am Bellatrix Lestrange, my boyfriend is Sirius Black, the pianist is Narcissa Malfoy, and our drummer is Kreacher. We’re having a lot of fun producing it. Don’t know if we’ll ever finish, but hey, it’s some spiffness.

    I suppose that’s it.

    Peace to the pies.

    HPBs forever.

    Love,

    – Faye

313- Wow. Good luck in college, and music, and life in general. Hope to see you here now and then. Or more often, depending on how busy you are.

I found my $50 from Christmas. In a card, in an envelope, in a drawer I haven’t looked in for weeks or even months.
I finally turned in my job application. Huzzah. And I learned that references didn’t have to be employers. Double huzzah.
There is a new addition to my favorite movies list: Bon Voyage. It’s a very light, funny, exciting French film set right before WWII. I recommend it highly. :)
