The final installment of the August random thread has been cooling on the window ledge a little longer than usual, but we trust there are a few pies left to fill out the month.
Continued from Part 2.
(Users’ Manual: Obey The Rules. Consult The Guide. Have fun!)
First post?
Hey, Robert, we should make that Muse’s new motto, and put it under the name on the cover….
For those of you who have no clue what I’m talking about:
467. Robert Coontz (Administrator) | August 28th, 2008 at 4:59 pm
(465) “Muse Magazine: Ruining Freshman College Lectures Since 1997.â€
It is pouring rain and thundering (faintly) and lightening…….Maybe not quite so faintly now…So fun, I kinda like lightning storms…was a bit scared of them as a child when they would happen when we were on vacation to my grandma’s in FL, but now I think I kinda like them…
Hope this isnt a double post.
Ah, I love fresh threads.
Fiddler, be sure to tell us about your fencing endeavors once you’ve had some.
You know, August is really beginning to grow on me. I think there’s something about the end of summer that’s… refreshing.
Ooh, you know what would be a great name for the September thread? Soliloquy. Well, not really. How about September Syzygy? Yeah, that sounds good. Ha! I love the letter “s”.
please, don’t kill me for triple posting….does first post dance, never gotten one before, I don’t htink.
it’s like constant lightning now, with no break between the flashes….not like the occasional ones we get back home
How faraway is lightning , if it’s approx 6 seconds til the thunder?
A mile and a bit, according to my 1st grade lessons.
Lightning can be so beautiful when you can see it and not get a headache. I actually love thunderstorms. They make things feel cozy when you’re inside, and when you’re outside, well, I try not to be outside during thunderstorms. But in a spring rain without thunder, I love to run/splash around, or just sit and relax, in the rain.
Either 6 or twelve miles, I think.
What kind of thunder are you getting? The booming kind? the rocks-your-house-to-it’s-very-foundations kind? the distant-giant-sneeze kind?
6. Thanks, THF, I forgot the conversion years ago, never having a need for it, given that lightning storms are a rare occurance back home (although, not as rare as they used to be). The lightning is still going strong, and I think the thunder is more or less continuous (but pretty faint, so I can barely hear it–not even entirely sure it is the thunder, and not cars….)
Rockin’ picture! ♥
Yay, new thread and yet another awesome picture! Not that I’ll be able to keep up for very long, but lurking is fun too.
Does a month usually take three Random threads? I have no clue…
11 – Yeah, recently they’ve each had three.
Nice pic.
I started school today! It was cool in some ways. Most ways, actually, except for a few. -dances over to Back to School thread-
Ooh, a new thread. I was wondering when this would be up- only four days left in August!
Lightning is lovely. Just like Luna is lovely… and Luna the Lovely is lovely… ?
Now I am confused. How simply lovely.
My stuffed cow, however, is not coming along lovely…ly. Its first leg is rather demented, and I have no idea how to start the head. Lovely.
Drat. The italics were only supposed to extend after the first “lovely.” HTML gnome, please?
12-Uh-huh. Okay. I imagine it’s more like two in September though, unless more than half the people here are homeschoolers .(? How many people are? I can’t find the Homeschooling thread!)
Summer? What summer? I think we went straight from spring to late autumn.
Nice picture, by the way.
So. Yeah. Just thought I’d check in with you all. School’s been brutal x_x AP US History with Kboch (not real name) is just… ahg. I know he’s trying to teach it as much like a college class as he is able to but I wish he’d actually teach more.
Yeah. First tennis meet today. I freaked out and overthought everything, so I lost. Uhg.
Tired. Smelly, probably. Doing to much again, probably. Don’t expect to see me a lot again… yeah. Maybe going to go find the rants/complaints/spazing thread for another freakout if I can muster up the energy.
7: Oh, gosh, um, well, for the most part, it was just rumbling, but a couple of loud ones that started off really abrupt then faded into rumbling….I dunno.
13: “Luna the lovely is lovely” Why, thank you, Raynpho. *is touched at compliment*
15: I used to be homeschooled, but, alas, no more, as I have entered the dread world of college *shudder*
15- We don’t care about homework.
Wow! Awesome pic!
SEveral bridges have overflowed, including one that was at the entrance to my freind’s street. THey had to be evacuated because there was no other way out.
that would have certainly been a goodk excuse for missing school, huh?
Amazingly I thinkt he rain has finally stopped! It’s been pouring for 2 days straight here!
11 – I think the record is six random threads, in April of two thousand… seven? Okay, 2007 or 2006.
13 – That just means it hascharacter. That’s a good thing!
Okay, scratch that, it was five random threads, April Showers, 2007. But that was when the GAPAs ended threads at around 300 posts, because there was something different about the server or something.
(11, 22) In fact, we’ve had five random threads at least four times: April Showers, 2007; October Foliage, 2006; April Foolery, 2006; Forwaaard, March!, 2006.
Multiple random threads began in February 2006, when the first installment ran to 722 comments, causing problems for slow Internet connections.
Later, a few bloggers became obsessed with beating the record and stuffed the threads with pointless posts in order to drive up the count. Therefore, in June 2007 we adopted the three-random-threads-per-month strategy.
23 – And also the PoPoPo, and the 15 seconds rule, that sort of thing. I didn’t realize that it was deliberately set to 3 threads.
(24) The Pointless Posts Police (a.k.a. the PoPoPo) entered the picture much earlier, in November 2006, when Museblog was barely more than a year old.
Hey, MBers! I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday…and I’m actually doin’ pretty good…how are you?
I feel sick.
I just woke up today and realised that I want my hair back, and now I think I look funny. I want it to grow back. Yeah, it sounds strange, but I really want it to be long again. Chad, please invent a hair-growth formula for me!
I watched the scorpion king 2 recently. It was badly written and the special effects were kinda crappy. I liked the costumes but they deffinitely didn’t spend the time and money needed on the sword. yeaah. wasn’t good don’t see it.
I was reading this book: ‘cheiro’s number’s’ which is pretty interesting. It’s all about the significance of numbers in life and stuff. the thing is, as interesting as I find the book the way it is written is really condescending. The author writes as though he’s better and smarter than you and doesn’t mind letting you know that his book is a special thing because he is sharing his vast knowledge. If you can stomach his tone of voice then it is worth reading. I’m not done but I find it fascinating.
I vote for September Synergy or September Surprises.
Three of my younger sister’s friends are over.
Help.
My cow is a mutated, wrinkly ploof of misery. Maybe I’ll just give up and make her something simple.
30) NEVER GIVE UP!! Actually you can, but I just had to put something in from my homeroom teacher.
23-WOW. There must have been an awful lot of people going on, like, every two hours. How does the three-threads-per-month work? I mean, do you just start a new thread when the comment count reaches four hundred, or what?
(32) Yes, it was a busy time, but there were also fewer alternative threads.
We usually try to begin the second and third parts on the 11th and 21st, respectively, though this varies, usually because a certain GAPA *coughRebeccacough* is trying to finish the graphics (though if the comments are piling up too high, we find another option). August was somewhat off kilter as an unusual amount of outside obligations competed for my time.
474~ I know. I was making a joke, and she thought that I was all violent because I wanted to learn to fence. I know it’s not violent, and neither am I, I think it’s a neat sport and I’d like to try it out.
3~ I don’t know if I actually will be able to, they say they have to have a certain amount of people call in before they’ll start a beginner’s class…….and I have no idea how long I’ll even be in WI, it could be several weeks or it could be only the remainder of this one. It all really depends on what is happening with Grandpa (they do say he’s doing much, much better and improving every day, so that’s good). I will most definitely tell you all if I do get to do some fencing, here or somewhere at home.
26~ Fine. Hey, I’m in Wisconsin, bored out of my mind and alone all day, how far away are you from, say, Madison? Kokonvention possibility? Hmm, send me an email if you want.
30~ Trust me, I’ve had projects that were going much worse, but that ended up all right. Just see if you can get it to work.
So. Curses. The library will be closed tomorrow, Sunday and Monday for Labor day weekend. Snip.
At the library I have internet, with the internet I have MuseBlog, with MuseBlog I have a link to sanity (yes, sanity compared to what I’m getting elsewhere, *coughthiswholemiserablevisitcough*).
And besides, I’m lonely. My mom and Grandma have been gone all day to the hospital to visit Grandpa, and I’m left at the house all day, my high point is coming to the library, having air conditioning and being able to communicate in some way to the outside world.
Yesterday they left at 2 and came back after 9. I don’t have many friends here, and even the ones I don know I don’t know that well. My best friend is at school in the day, and at her dad’s this weekend, so I couldn’t call her even if I was able to use the phone and make long distance calls and talk for hours. I haven’t asked, but I doubt they’d be happy with that.
I hate being in town. I don’t want to wander around town by myself, and there’s not much to do in the house. Homework, reading, tv, big whoop. Tv can only hold my attention for a little bit and then I get fed up with the ads, reading is fun and I love it dearly, but you can only read so much in a day and not start seeing double. Homework, of course is okay, but after a few hours of it it’s hard to concentrate.
I wish I had my bike with me, it’s a beautiful walk and all, but it’s almost a mile. My feet hurt, from walking on the pavement and it’s so hot outside that I’m drenched in sweat by the time I get here. I can’t swim, because there aren’t any adults at home, besides, the lake is full or plants and has a gross-looking bottom.
Sorry to complain, but I. am. just. not. happy. right. now.
Oh, I forgot to say before, beautiful picture, Rebecca! I like it.
There’s an Irish pub in town. I just looked them up. They have sessions on Thursday nights. At 7:30. And I probably won’t go. Because my grandmother would have a cow if I went to a bar, even if it was just to play music. She’s been totally uptight about everything and arguing with mom, so I don’t think adding another conflict would really be a good idea. Damn. Besides, I haven’t practiced for awhile, I’ll have to do that when I get back. *makes mental note*
Ah ha, relocation to a place with a power outlet, bloggin longer yesss, this is good.
35- would your grandmother have to know? If your parents are fine with you playing at a pub do you have to tell her? You shouldn’t let someone stop you from doing something you really want to do. that’s my advice.
you know what would be the coolest job ever? being a voice actor! That would totaly be the best ever. (change of topic) are we still able to sent in MB signatures be cause I have had mine done for a while I’m just kinda lazy. Is it possible for me to send it in? and who am I supposed to send it to? Thanks.
37~ Here’s the situation: I am in Wisconsin to visit my Grandmother. Mostly though, I came because she didn’t want my Mom to drive across the country alone. My Grandpa is in the hospital right now and my Mom and Grandma are gone most of every day to visit him there. I’m not going because he doesn’t want me to see him in the state he’s in. I would love to visit him, but he doesn’t want he to, so I’m mostly here to keep my Mom company to and from Maryland to Wisconsin.
My Momm would probably come with me if I went to the session, because although I have plenty of experience with drunk people she doesn’t want me to drink. I don’t want to either, so she’s really got nothing to worry about.
If we both went, Grandma would demand to know were we were going.
And, if she didn’t have a fit, she’s probably go along.
I can deal with people drinking, as long as they don’t get violent or start asking me for…..umm, favors like happened once. Mom is okay with it to some extent, as long as it doesn’t get too crazy, or course, I’d leave then too.
Grandma, on the other hand, would not be okay with even slightly drunk people. She seems to think that she can’t ever expose herself to things she doesn’t completely agree with.
So, I don’t think it’s going to work out. I don’t know what the session is like, it might be really laid back and sober, it might not be, but grandma is worried about me enough, she doesn’t need her “little girl” going off to the pub, for whatever reason I give. I don’t mind that much, it’s just annoying.
Hey all, just a question, if I download the new version of iTunes, would I still be able to sync my iPod? It’s been nagging me to download the new iPod software, I haven’t done that yet (and I didn’t bring the cord, drat), but will it still work if I get the new iTunes and still have the old iPod software? My violin teacher (whose husband is a computer guy) thinks yes, any ideas, or should I just wait and download the new iPod software and then iTunes?
Okay, I’m off. I’ll not download it yet.
I won’t be able to get on (probably) tomorrow, Saturday or Sunday.
Darn. Anyway, have fun, I’ll miss you!
38- oh. okay. I hope your grandpa gets better.
I’m sure you’ve all visited here before (I’m sure I did once upon a time), but it is definitely worth a revisit–so hilarious!!!!
https://musefanpage.com/NewFiles/quotations.html
Nice picture!
Sooooooooooo tired, x-country practices just started and I”ve fallen victim to the NC heat! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
39- when did you get your iPod? I’ll check for you. 2005+ should work, not sure about earlier.
Speaking of School, We had a Pop Quiz in history. I got 9/9. I was the only one who got 9/9. If you got 9/9 you don’t have to do any homework over the weekend. I don’t have to do any homework. everyone else does. Everybody hates me.
You know, I was just thinking (again): MuseBlog is unbelievably diverse. I mean, for one thing, people post (or have posted) regularly from at least… five (correct me if I’m wrong) different countries, and from all over the USA. The MB has posters from incredibly different backgrounds, races, religions, living styles, and, well, everything else. This is such a cool virtual place.
Oh, yeah, and I love the pie picture.
Nice pic, Lady B!
47- As you said. MuseBlog is simply
magicalMuseical. Finally, a 3-day weekend. And I only have homework for two classes! And it’s Friday! And it’s my birthday! And my friends are coming over! And I have computer time!
49- Nthanda and I were hoping to sometime get around to doing a SoCal Kokon at the LA museum of Natural History, but we haven’t figured out when.
The ice cream truck just went by.
33-Oh. I see. Um, I’m a bit late in saying this, but the picture is awesome. As well as Musesome.
Beautiful Picture! I love how Koko’s holding up the pie, that’s great!!!
Red-tailed HAWK

51- Ice cream trucks really annoy me. There little bells are annoying, and I’ve only seen one in *snip*. And another in Irvine, where I don’t live. And I’ve seen quite a few in Santa Ana, and again, I live in *snip*, not Santa Ana.
very random post–i just googled myself, and it’s incredible how many hits there are–only two actually being of me, as far as I could tell, and not till like one of the last pages….i’ve googled myself in the past, and there have been maybe two or three hits, most just being hits to the local paper, cuz i won fair ribbons. and maybe one being of someone else with the same name…
now it gets zillions of hits for some british model….really disturbing, there is even someone with my name who has facebook…..very, very creepy
Just for the fun of it, here’s the photo I started with, featuring a lovely apple pie from the Sweet Shoppe Bakery.
56-Wow! That’s amazing!
Mmmm, apple pie!
Red-tailed HAWK

28) OMG!
that kis SUCH a conincedense! OK, we went to pick up my sister at UNC and the students at the front desk of her dorm were watching that exact same movie and comenting on the crazy stuff Japanese people can do in movies. Weird………… Then they started talking about scorpian men and stuff like that…… Quite interesting…….
35) Pubs are nice. We went to tons in Ireland, of course, that was during the hours when children are allowed. When it gets about 7:30, children aren’t allowed. Anyway, that was when my familly went to Ireland. It was quite nice. There are also some quite good pubs in England. I recall one in Wales. We stayed in a small, isolated town where we rented a cottage. This town was one of those towns, there were many by the way, that was full of one lane streets. If you met a vehicle going in the opposite direction, beware. Anyway, there was only one restaurant, this pub, and you could tell that this was where all the townspeople met. Every day, after exploring the area, we would stop by the pub for a drink. (soda of course for my sister and I) We stayed in that town for a week and by the end knew all the bar maids and several of the town’s people. Usually the old people, who were the only ones, save a group of raggedy teenagers, to be in the pub so early. Not that the old poeple were drinking. Mostly they were just in there gossiping.
51) REALLY?!
I thought they’d stopped doing that due to gas prices! I haven’t seen one in FOREVER!
I miss them.
I used to love them. Icecream trucks just don’t come to little towns anymore.
55) Google yourself? Are you bored?
56) I wants it.
CALLING ALL RESISTANCE MEMBERS! CALLING ALL RESISTANCE MEMBERS! ALL RESISTANCE MEMBERS, PLEASE REPORT TO BUNNY APOCALYPSE! YOU ARE NEEDED!!!!!
Yes, I used all exclamation points on purpose. I want the whole thing to show up on the recent comments.
58: You could say that–I just didn’t feel like doing my homework–turning my bio notes into complete sentences (done now), still have to do that with geog notes, and I don’t even want to think about all the stupid, boring, totally pointless math problems I have to do…..Only 27 this time, though, that’s not too bad. Stupid functions, not even difficult, just pointless–that is, they might be difficult for some of you younger musers, I don’t remember what grade functions are first introduced, but when you have done all math up through calc, and are in what is supposed to become a calc course, it is frustratingly boring (even though I dread the calc problems we will soon be doing)
I love the pic!
GAPAs, could you please send me an attachment of the pic? I’m not at my computer right now, so I can’t save it like i usually would, and I’ll only get back to my comp in September.
Re: Pubs: My mom works at one. Kids can be there ’till ten PM, but they won’t seat us after 9. It has delicious food.
Mmm, googling myself? I’ve done it a fair few times, but I always end up with people from movies, and no one else has the same exact name. Except I remember some author from Australia, but I’m not even sure about that.
55- I googled myself once. Apparently there’s already soemone with my name who’s a famous author. Grrr…Why didn’t I get there first? I guess I’ll just have to use an alias.
out of boredom (I’m procrastinating going to bed), I was just looking back at the first couple posts I ever made on MuseBlog (on the IAT thread for the March 2006 contest)
Here is an excerpt that I found strangely amusing from my second ever post:
I’m just glad they didn’t list ‘pencil’ because that would most definitely be a weapon. You could stab someobdy in the jugular vein in their neck and kill them or, this sounds more interesting, stab them in the eye, and it would go straight into their brain, and then you could wiggle it a round and give them permanent brain damage. Not to give anybody any ideas or anything… I wouldn’t actually DO any of those things, though.
I scare myself sometimes….
65-I do too. My theme song goes (part of it):
I’m STRANGE, and I like it, that’s just the way I am, I’m STRANGE, and I like it, that’s just the way I am. Don’t try to get over it, don’t try to understand-I’m STRANGE, and I like it, that’s just the way I am.
Yup. Definite theme song.
60) Fascinating! I’m covering the exact same thing in Algebra 2 right now. Yes, they are quite annoying. But surely not pointless!
65) *backs away very slowly*
Good morning everyone! It’s SATURDAY! And a long weekend! Ahhhh. The joys of life.
Oh man… tennis meet this morning… eepeepeep… O.o
*has freakout*
i start school on tuesday. we had to go to school on wenesday to get my schedule and locker and such because we were on vvacation during orientation. we then realized that my schedule was moot because it had 8th grade math and english but i took 8th grade math and englishlast year but they supposedly already had my 9th grade classes scheduled. we then walked down the hall to the high school and talked to the principal and he was trying to get me to take spanish because i wouldnt be able to take band because they only had 8th grade band the last 2 hours of the day but i had math and english then so it wouldn’t work. then we went to meet the math teacher and he said he didn’t have a last hour class so we went to talk to the assistant principal and we got it figured out in 45 minutes. but my 2 high school classes are separated by i hour so i will be late for 3rd hour and lunch every day for the whole year. tehy couldn’t give me gym 3rd hour because then i would be late so i would not be able to go outside or go bowling but i wanted to have a full hour for art so they gave me art 3rd hour 1st tri and gym/health3rd hour 2nd and 3rd tri. so i wil l be late to study hall and world language.
sorry about that. i just had to say that to somebody
(61) We could send you the picture, or you can copy it whenever you like from my Photobucket album.
42- aha, the quotes page. I remember that.
Last night I watched the last of Firefly and then I cuddled. it was cozy.
70-Thanks!
66- Hey, that’s one of my theme songs! My other one is Baroque Hoedown by They Might Be Giants. Here are the lyrics-
A bear with a honey pot stuck on his head
A large green hippo with blinking eyes
Some tiny tiny people swinging tiny tiny lanterns on the
Main Street
Eletrical Parade!
The rest of it’s funny beeping noises.
I get a few results when I Google myself, but not a ton.
63- I’ve tried that. I get a few newspaper articles about our track team and one from an event at my mom’s museum. Searching for my handle gives me a lot more hits.
man., this really annoys me: I was all set to scan my Mb signature except for one thing: I CAN’T FIND MY SKETCH BOOK!!!!!!! meh. I’ll find it eventually…..
74- there are results but they aren’t me. There are several other people with my name in the world.
45~ Yeah, I got it about two years ago. It’s a first or second generation nano.
Oh, HAWK, we had a few more of those wonderful cherry tomatoes today for lunch, yum. Those are good!
As you can see, I’m on today (yay!) even though I thought I wouldn’t be able to……..I’m sitting in the shade of a birch tree next to our church using the wireless connection there. They said I could use it, so that’s good. I had to change locations though, since it was so weak it kept disconnecting me. Ah well, it’s not as far away as the library!
I might go home earlier. Dad has said he’d come and get me, but if I do go home to Maryland, he’ll be at work, so I’d still be spending time alone. However, I’d be able to actually get things done, and it would be nice to be at home.
So, I don’t know what to do. We don’t know how long we’ll be in Wisconsin (probably a few more weeks), and there’s really nothing that I can do here. Save homework and walking the two mile loop around the lake, which is only so exciting.
Urgh, how can I decide what’ll be best? Darn.
What the heck is going on here, there are a few little girls on the playground and a moment ago they were barking like dogs. At least I assumed it was supposed to sound like dogs, it was a bit more screamish than that……do I want to know?
Oh, I got a pair of shoes today, green sandals. They’re the ones made by Keen, and I’ll be able to wear them in the creek, yay! Now I won’t kill my feet every time I go swimming, this is a very good thing.
*going to take sister back to UNC* already.
Oh well. No worries!
Bye for now!
77-I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying them! Wow, my tomatoes are traveling quite a distance! I’m honored! And so is the plant!
And that’s nice of your dad to offer that! I can imagine it’s not terribly much fun being away from home and not being able to even visit your grandfather. A trail around a lake does sound nice, but you can only go around so many times in a row without wanting a change, I’m sure!
Red-tailed HAWK

80~ Mm hmm. I still don’t know what to do though, I’ll have to call him again and say whether I’m going home or not.
OUCH! These dratted ants are crawling in my clothes. Ow, ow, OW! They’re biting me! *swats* *gets odd looks from passerby* Well, it hurts!
They’re probably weirded out by the movie sounds coming from my computer already.
Well, I needed something farmiliar, I remembered Alice saying she watches Hornblower in YouTube…….yay, familiar faces and voices. How sad is that?
81-Ouch! Biting bugs are annoying! *Alliteration*
I’m sure it’s a tough choice. Do let us know what you decide!
Red-tailed HAWK

I don’t have any thing from google.
Okay, I have to go, battery dying and no plugs,
.
So, I’ll probably be able to connect tomorrow with the chruch’s signal…..see you then.
84- im pretty sure that’s a commandment- Thou shalt not steal wifi from churches? Maybe its in leviticus.
81- Sad? Pshaw. It’s normal.
…
Well, maybe not “normal.”
I finally finished typing up my notes! Thank heavens. Now I just need to write an essay. -dies-
A rather dismally fair-themed episode, but ah well. I want ice cream.
), standing up with my head on the center console (until I nearly fell backwards into the river), or laying in the bows with the anchor digging into my neck (until annoying little flies started landing on me). And then the crab pots were stolen. Again. Today I didn’t go, and of course today is lovely and sunny.
I’m listening to Prairie Home Companion.
Yesterday I went fishing with my dad and uncle. It was…wet. We didn’t catch anything (we didn’t expect to), and I learned how to sleep in highly uncomfortable places, leaning against the motor (until my dad started steering again
Oh well.
Last night I finished the zipper of my other broken-zippered dress, which is also floor-length and old-fashioned, in a slightly Edwardian style.
85- It’s even more dismally when you live in the prairie were they were just at the fair.
85- Nah, all the Commandments are in Exodus, I think *Confesses that she is not a Bible Scholar and does not pretend to be one*.
This reminds me of the first west wing show:
SOME CRISTAIN: The first comandment is “Honor you mother and father”
SOME WHITE HOUSE PERSON: I thought it was thou shall not steal.
PRESIDENT (OFF SCREEN): YOU SHALL have no god before me.
SWHP: Hello Mr. president.
(Or something like that. President’s bartlet is the only line I’m sure about.)
89: You actually remember back to the first West Wing show????? The first episode I remember is when one of the white house people is on a plane, and is using his computer–or was it his cell phone?–and the stewardess is like, sir, you need to turn that off for take off/landing, and he’s like I’m on the phone with the president–or somethihng like that, anyway…..
90- only because it was repeated the day the last one was on.
OMG! Has anyone here read the book, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid?” I mean, a few years ago, my sister and I found a thing with it on line where the author posted a small section everyday on this website. THis was before it was every published. At the end, he wrote all of the readers a small note that pretty much said, “Thanks for you support, I’m going to try and get this published so maybe you’ll see it on the shelves eventually.” Well, I couldn’t believe it! I was bored while today because my Mom took my sister and I to Walmart, so I walked to their lame book section. Suddenly, I looked down and saw the books!
I couldn’t believe it!
92- Geez, that book is HILAREEUS! They’re really great. Have you just begun reading, or have you already finished?
I’ve been doing a bit of digging (because the threads are moving kinda slow and I have nothing to do), and I think I finally found the first coment I made! Of course, I can’t be sure. But this sounds like it.
‘my happy face is so turned on today!!!!!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
watch
I’m a newbie ! HOOORAH! PIES!
~agrrrfishi, Quadrant 5, sector4, arago nebulo
(yes, the signature took a very long time to type every single post, so I got rid of it.)
92- I read “Diary of a Frantic Kid Sister.” It sucked.
93) Oh, yeah, I’ve read all of them before, I mean, online, not as a book, they are so hilarious! I was surprised though. I thought that there was only one book, but apparently, the writer spaced out all that he had written on the original website into more then one book. Kind of confusing.
Wowsers! I just went back on the old website and the writer has written that he’s converting what he’s written on the website into 3 different books and that he’s going to write 2 more. Gosh. I’ve already read 3/5 of the series and the 3rd book isn’t even out yet.
sorry, random post, but I just watched/listened to the llama song for the first time–totally hilarious!!!!
do you know, I think I’m the only one on now, including GAPAs–maybe that’s a hint that i should go to bed–which I probably should, I’m just enjoying not having a roomie over the weekend, and not feeling guilty if I stay up past like 10:30/11 when she has usually been going to bed. Guess I shouldn’t feel bad, she gets up super early (like 6:30–which is apparently sleeping in) and I don’t get up til 8:30 (on school days, which is early for me–today I didn’t get up til like 10:30). Anyways, I s’pose I ought to go to bed….
I’m still on. I plan to put my three-day weekend to the best use possible- namely, surrendering to my circadian rhythms for three blissful nights. And mornings. Actually, on a few occasions, my sleep cycle has included the afternoon.
98- No, I’m here too. And if you’re up late, it’s 1:39 AM here for me. Of course, you probably have things to do tomorrow, wheras I… Meh.
31, 34- Thanks, but eh, I gave up. I might have continued if I knew what I was doing, but alas. Plus, I can’t find any suitable stuffing in the house anyway, so it mostly worked out. I drew her a last-minute picture of a cow parachuting from one of those oldie-vintage style single-person airplanes instead. It turned out much better than the other cow would have, thank goodness
Luna- I have the same problem. She sleeps in though so I don’t feel too guilty.
There was a swing and other ballroom styles dance tonight. (Polka’s so much fun!) ‘Twas excellent. As was cuddling in the SFF club’s house afterwards. the people there are awesome. (note to GAPAs, it is not called the SFF club. I almost typed it’s real name but then remembered that that would be google-able.) Dancing and cuddling lead to extreme late-ness and therefore roommate guilt. No one ever tells you about the roommate guilt.
101: Wow, you guys actually have real dancing? Thus far, the two dances I’ve attended here (I was trying to be sociable, and they had all these activities for freshies)–have consisted of like rap and hard rock and stuff played so loud that you can’t even hear yourself when you yell at the top of your lungs…..not really my scene
98,99- I was up then, too, but I was reading Shakespeare and not checking MB very often.
Was up, got off of MB around 9:30.
Owww oww ow.
So. That tennis meet I mentioned yesterday in post… 68? Something. Well yeah, it was quad, so there were 3 other teams there that we would play. I’m second singles, and we don’t have any alternates, so I’d play 3 matches that day.
So, went to school, rode to the school it was being held at (let’s call it… Lake.) and got there around 8:20. I started my first match about 9:00, against a girl from Lake. The first set (uhm, tennis (varsity at least) scoring goes: 4 points to a game (love(0), 15, 30, 40, if it gets to 40/40 it’s called duece(sp?) and then there’s add-in/add-out but we’ll not get into that), 6 games to a set, 3 sets to match but if one person wins the first two you stop. If you get to 6/6 games, you have a tie breaker, which I will also not get into.)
Anyway, the first set ended up going to tiebreaker, which I won 7-5. About 10 minutes before it went into the tie breaker, my coach came over and was like “You’re almost done?”
“No, this is still the first set.”
“It’s… what>?” O.o
By that time first singles and two of our doubles teams had apparently already finished… it’d taken us over an hour to play the first set. So we both went to get more water and I went through the same conversation with Ros and T and our manager >.<
Then we played the second set, which lasted about another hourand she won 6-2
I was so tired by that point… we were both just hitting it back to each other every time, some of the points lasted at least a minutes, ahhhg… x_x
So then, because she’d won the second set, we had to play a third. we’d both pretty much given up trying to hit really good winning shots because our accuracy wasn’t so good by then, and there was some wind. So we both just were hitting it back over sie-to-side and up/down to make the other person run and mess up. *dies* But I had more endurance from hockey and stuff, so she wore out first and I finally won the last one 6-4.
So that whole match lasted about 3 and a half ours. When I finished, got water, and colapsed in the shade Ros and T were already starting their 3rd match x_x
So I had a 15 minute break, then a second match that took a bit over an hour… it was aginst this really good town, so I got creamed, uhg. Then I had a 20 minute break, an apple, and then had to play this girl from wisconsin, which ended up lasting like2 and a half hours. We were the only ones playing for like an hour, eveyone else was finished and just sitting down. I was shaking so bad during that match… which she ended up winning, even though I would have been able to beat her if I wasn’t so tired.
But yeah. I was dead. And when we finished I couldn’t even sit down, cause they had the medals and stuff right after we were done (it was around 4 when we finished… so I played from 9-4 with less than a half hour of rest. *kills self*). I did end up tying for silver though, with two ohers since we kind of beat each other in a circle.
Anyway, yeah. I can’t walk. And I sunburned through the spf 50 I coated myself with and always managed to sweat off in the first half hour >.<
My skin is now all tingly… and the part in my hair is bright red and painful and it’ll probably peel and then I will die. x_x ANd my tan line from my tennis socks is… well, my legs are dark tan and my feet are white and there is a distinct line between the two.
Also, I bought a sword today, but I’ll talk about it later.
*goes to corner to die*

Ho hum. Last day of August. Whatever.

oops the “thats too bad” is for 107 sorry double post
BIG IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT BUNNY APOCALYPSE.
Recently, the RPGers on BA have reached some kind of conclusion. People are debating about vampires, wizards, etc. etc. and if they should be allowed. Some people are leaving because it is getting “too silly.” Please, BA RPGers, go over to Bunny Apocalypse and make your decision. Everyone who’s leaving, go with IBCF and POSOC. Everyone who’s staying, please go to BA when you have the chance. T’ank you.
107: That sucks. Get better soon!
ok, anybody who is against anti-Potter peoples–go https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1444#comment-358
Dunno if that worked, cuz I have no clue…..
well, my linkys there, but not the way I intended it–I was going for the linky as a word, but whatever
111- But where are IBCF and POSOC going?
Gah, it took me three tries to type IBCF, because all the letters on my keyboard are so faded.
I cleaned my compy today! Now it’s shiny and there aren’t any spots on the screen. Unfortunately, I made the trackpad too clean and it wasn’t working.
I was walking in town with my family and our dog when this elderly couple stopped us and started talking about German Shepard Dogs with my parents. Anyway, it turned out the man was a former Grumman (that’s a big aircraft-design company based around here) employee and he’d helped build the Lunar Module! Awesomeness!
114- I don’t know. They’re going sowhere else, exiting the thread, etc. etc.
(111, 114) They can go to the new thread we’ve created for that purpose.
85~ Thou shalt not steal church wifi. I totally agree. I’m at our church, and they told me specifically that I could use it. I’m not stealing! Really, I wouldn’t connect to it without permission.
Soooo, I went swimming today. And rode a buoy. Buoys are fun to sit on, it turns out, although the nasty slimy algae in them is a bit gross.
Umm, what else did I do today? Not really that much. Went to church (Sunday school was good today) and, umm, started watching Seabiscut, and the stupid media player made it go all the way back to the beginning when I turned it off, so now I have to find where I was. Oh well.
So, that’s what’s new in my prodigiously boring life, how’s stuff with you?
I’m feeling much better now, after sleeping for…well, several hours. I’m not exactly sure how long.
I’m pathetic.
Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic.
I cannot stay off the blog. I’m addicted.
AND PROUD OF IT!
I’m going now, see you later!
118 – I’ve used my school’s Wi-Fi before, during summer vacation nonetheless. It was for school purposes, though, so I don’t really think it was stealing.
It was a pain to find, too. At my school, the Wi-Fi is actually better outside the building then in many places inside.
118-Hi!!!

120-That doesn’t have to be pathetic! It can be good in some ways! I am to some extent!
Red-tailed HAWK

120-So am I. Addicted, not pathetic. Is there something wrong with liking MB? I hope not!!!
Eh, I hate to think of myself as addicted, but I rather am. I don’t mind coming on every once in a while, but it bothers me when I spend the entire day online.
120, 123, 124- Hurrah, I’m pathetic as well! *highfives*
“That doesn’t have to be pathetic! It can be good in some ways!”
“Is there something wrong with liking MB? I hope not!!!”
Nope, but there’s probably something pathetically wrong with going on the computer, then checking the blog every 2 minutes or so, for maybe 4 hours at a time, a couple times a day! *prances around*
Today’s my sister’s birthday. I think she liked my picture. We got a cake from an elite sort of Parisian-style gourmet pastry-cafe shop . Our family gets a cake there pretty much for every birthday, and we are disappointed and throw half the cake out… almost every time. They are way overrated, and yet we continue to buy their mousse-overladen, no-actual-cake involved cakes four times a year. Why?
At least their apple turnovers are to die for. That goes for their fruit tarts as well, where it’s pretty impossible to stick mousse anywhere.
Re- Pathetic: No, seriously. I have no willpower whatsoever. I can feebily hold on to an argument, then drop it and start weakly laughing as I rush off to the library. Well, if that happened now, I would go somewhere else. But in school, I would go to the library. It’s a very nice library. I give it nine out of ten, and it gets points for having copies of Muse. It has most of the Redwall series, but notice I said MOST, not all. That’s were it loses points, along with the fact that most of the books are fifth grade level. I got th scores for my CSTs, and they say my reading level is 10. My LA score is 437, my math score was 450, and my science score was 506. Not the best, but better than some. And what’s surprising is that I consider LA my strongest subject, and I consider math my weakest. So how the flarp did math come out better than LA? Well, the LA stuff they gave us was really marpy. There was something about yams in there! *shakes head* And if you don’t know, CST means California Standerized Tests. Second grade+ takes it. I started with me being pathetic and ended up with CST scores. Next time you have a conversation, try at any given point in the conversation, try to remember how you started it. I can’t 50% of the time.
