If new to the blog, good to see you! Make this thread your first stop to meet the locals, ask any questions you might have, and get initiated into the Ways of the Blog.
Please read The Rules. You might also glance at The HG2MB (Hitchhiker’s Guide to MuseBlog), which contains helpful hints regarding local customs, lingo, and other peculiarities of the blog; smiley information included.
MuseBlog Veterans: Please use this thread only to welcome newcomers as they arrive and answer questions that they ask.
MBers, it’s friendly of you to want to have some greetings ready to welcome newcomers before they arrive, but that’s not how we’re running this thread at the moment. Please wait until somebody new actually shows up.
Hello, peoples.
I is very scared in a pax-ish random way. I is scared because I think I is died and gone to heaven. You peoples seem so very me-ish in a ver individualistic way.
Pax has question now:
How do I sign up, and is this now seen by anyone?
Pax is feeling very stupid and ignorant now, but still Pax-ish-ly scared.
Pax is having to go to bed now before Mommy-Pax hurtses mes.
Pax out!!
And please help
Kay, looking back, Pax’s questions make little sense. She was wondering really- Is Pax now my forever name (not that it would not be chosen anyways)? Is this how everybody else is writing entries every time? Kay, just try to ‘splain ev’rything to poor Paxy, cause she is ver, ver confuzzled.
Okay, Pax, here’s the lowdown:
You don’t need to sign up. Just put your chosen screen name in the name blank, your email in the email blank, and start posting.
Your posts are seen by everyone else as soon as the GAPAs (which is what we call the admins around here–it stands for Great And Powerful Administrators) moderate it, which means to check that it’s not spam or anything bad.
You can change your screen name as many times as you want, but that can get confusing to everyone else, so I wouldn’t recommend doing it too much.
As is mentioned at the top of this thread, you might want to try reading the HG2MB for information on our rather peculiar culture. It won’t tell you absolutely everything, but it is very helpful. If you happen to notice something that you don’t understand, just ask. Most of us will be happy to explain in great detail.
Thankee, thankee!! And now I must really go to bed, because Mommy-Pax has realised I is not in bed and I shall be skinned alive.
Hiya, Pax! Welcome to the ‘Blog.

(the pies are traditional–and friendly)
Also, not to scare you off or anything, but I think I speak for most of the ‘blog when I suggest that you please try to refrain from using baby-talk so much. I’m not saying this to be mean and try and ostracize you, but rather I’m trying to help your transition to ‘blog life be that much quicker and more pleasant.
Enjoy the pies!
Hey,Pax!
Please try to stop that third person thing.
Oops. Try this:
Your comment is awaiting moderation.
Some general tips:
1) There is a thread for talking made-up languages. Try Ble! Newluj-No Fulst!
2) Don’t take pies as an insult.
3) You should feel…somewhat happy here. If you don’t want to come across mad, people, well, you can’t help it. We’re all mad here!
4) HTML–HyperText Mark-up Language. (yes, I know that by heart.) HTML is a form of computer creation. To make your text italic, write ( i ) but using . To make your text bold, do ( b ) with . ‘Kay?
ABOVE ALL, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY!!! ↑
5) Know where your towel is.
There you go! You’re all set for the Musiverse! Have..MWAHAHA! Fun… in the…MWAHAHA!! Beyond…….
Hello, Pax!
Go to HG2MB, firstly.
More tips:
1. Pies aren’t insults. They’re compliments, or friendly injuring (like playfully shoving a friend).
2. Try to avoid chatspeak or a made-up language, that can get a bit annoying. Trust me on that, I used to be a very annoying fellowmuser.
3. Enjoy yourself and have fun!
To correct Eragon’s #4 (as his greater than/less than signs didn’t show up):
4. To make your text italic, write <i>stuff you want italic</i>. To make your text bold, do the same thing, just substitute “i” with “b”.
Pax — now there’s one hoopy frood who really knows where his towel is. (Way to get me started on HG2G, Eragon.) Welcome!
And I would suggest using actual proper grammar, for most of the time.
Hullo, Pax! How d’you do?
Piggy. There you are. Why haven’t you been at the hair and hedgepig lately?
Welcome to MuseBlog, Pax! Well… how are you enjoying yourself?
13- POSOC was doing fine, so I took a quick breather. Hello, neophytes! Oh, and to oldbies: is anyone in the process of recruiting more MBers? If not, you should be.

16- I am. Kind of. Please watch for anyone with a name ending with 101. She should be here soon.
11:
The Hitchhiker’s Guide say this about the word “Hoopy”. Hoopy: A really together guy.
A frood is defined as “a really amazingly together guy.”
An example might go:
“Hey you, sass that hoopy Ford Prefect? There’s a frood who really knows where his towel is!”
Don’t ask for the definition of “sass” because that would set off thousands of “inappropriate” alarms.
7- TMFA thinks that third person is cool. TMFA asked for a third person thread once.
TMFA pies (:!: and :?:) Latin for peace the rodent from Syria. (Really bad attempt at a POSOC style name)
Yay, thank you TMFA for knowing Pax. I’ve never known anyone else who knew what that meant. Are hamster’s really from Syria? Interesting factoid, that.
And thanks for supporting the third person thing, but I’ll stop if it annoys everyone else.
I was a bit hyper at the time
Smile gnome in 19?
20–so. I cheated. I looked “pax” up in the dictionary……in addition to being Latin for peace, as TMFA stated, Pax is also the Roman goddess of peace. So: a question. Are you female?…..or male? Not that it matters, just prevents mistakenly using the wrong pronoun……
Anyway, again, welcome to the blog!!!!!!!

Huh?
23 (pax)–was that “huh” to me? probably…..I was rambling. I was just wondering if you were female, as according to the dictionary, Pax is the female goddess of peace.
Luna is saying that she looked up what your name meant, and is asking if you’re a boy or a girl.
Huh? was to 21.
To 22, I’m a 14 year old girl. i was kind of wondering if I’m on the young or old end of the MBers.
(Question- is that proper use of MBers, don’t want to sound stupid, here)
26–Ah, gotcha. In his prior post (19), TMFA had two symbols (an exclamation and a question mark, both surrounded my colons), which are MB HTML for two different smileys. So, in post 21, he was requesting the “smiley gnome” (aka, one of the GAPAs–Great And Powerful Administrators) to fix the smileys so they would show up.
Anyway, as far as your age: I’d say 14 is probably toward the middle of the spectrum. Old would be those of us who are college aged: Groundhog, oxlin, and me (and possibly others I’ve forgotten), as well as the jr/sr highschoolers. Young: I think we have several who are as young as ten, but I don’t pay too much attention to the ages, as I’ve noticed that everyoone on the blog is a lot more mature than one might assume, given their physical age. So we’ve got a large range: 10-20.
Welcome, Pax the Hamster!
19, 20- I gather you also know some Latin? Salvete, amici! (Hello, friends!)
26- I agree with Luna. You’re towards the middle.
That is a proper use of MBers. Wherever you would say “MuseBloggers” or “Muse readers” or “Crazy peeps who are really from Museica, the planet of all things Muse” you can say MBers instead.
18- I know. I just like using it as an adjective. Oh, and I think we should start calling all non-MBers “strags”.
Welcome, o arabic rodent of peace! 29-why strags?
Re: Age: Don’t pay attention to it. POSOC is 13/14 but seems to be older.
29-Finally someone I know who remembers what HG2TG is about! Yee haw!
30- Strag–n. A non-hitchhiker.
“A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value – you can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a mini raft down the slow heavy river Moth; wet it for use in hand-to- hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mindboggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can’t see it, it can’t see you – daft as a bush, but very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.
More importantly, a towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag (strag: non-hitch hiker) discovers that a hitch hiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, face flannel, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet weather gear, space suit etc., etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the hitch hiker any of these or a dozen other items that the hitch hiker might accidentally have “lost”. What the strag will think is that any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still knows where his towel is is surely a force tobe reckoned with.
Yeah, Pax you’re somewhere in between. The youngest MBer here was…um…I’m not sure. The oldest are Oxlin (this excludes the GAPAs) and La Mort. (I think) I’m 11, 12 next September. You’re going to want to give the GAPAs your birthday, that can be done simply by yelling out: “Oh, GAPAaaaaassss! My birthday is…uh…what is my birthday again? Mom! Oh! Yeah! 9/17/97!” and they will add it to a calender. Once a year, on your (around, one day + or -) birthday, they will add your birthday to the blog page.
ok then if 14 is in the middle is 12 younger? ok never mind..stupid question. TKDGirl is typing her thought process. she feels like an idiot. anyway, welcome pax
TKDGirl loves your name by the way. ok, stopping third person. sorry :).
Pax, I’m sure you’re in the middle. I, for one, am 12, 13 in March.
32- Noo… La Mort’s 16/17 and Oxlin’s 18/19. The oldest is probably Faye, I think she’s like 21.
Age is irrelevant.
Wow. That age question provoked a lot of discussion!
Even though it’s almost an entire year from now, I’ll just tell the GAPAs that my birthday is 12/9/94.
I’m 16, towards the upper range of age. But age isn’t important, as quite a few MBers have pointed out. I think Groundhog is oldest.
I knew “Pax” from Pax Romana, a term that describes a time of relative peace in Europe, because Rome controlled a lot of the big bits.
I’m 12, in the younger range. But I’ve been here longer than most, and I
hopethinkam fairly certain I’m well-respected here.38–You are [well-respected]. By me, anyway (and probably everyone else). And that makes a perfect example of how we go more by maturity than age on here, because if I’d been forced to guess how old you were, I probably would have guessed at least 14.
But hey–age isn’t important on the blog–young, old (not that there is anybody old here, including the GAPAs–they’re all kids at heart), whatever–every Muser’s welcome. Thank goodness there isn’t an “age”, or I would probably be deemed to “old”, seeing as I’m…..almost 19????
That’s kinda scary–I’m practically an adult. *shudder* The horror.
Anyway, I do believe we’re getting a wee bit (or perhaps a lot bit), off topic, so I shall take my leave, and try to refrain from posting on until we get our next ‘phyte.
39 – Why, thank you. And you’re right on two counts: Age is irrelevant here, and so is this conversation. *leaves thread*
Hi…. I’m new… I’m sick, so I was reading my muse archives, and then i succumbed to peer pressure and visited museblog but im a little confused…. y’know, how it runs and stuff.
41- Welcome!
Don’t be confused about this place. You’ll figure it all out in no time. The basic premise is that you write a post, hit the “Submit” button, and a GAPA (Great and Powerful Administrator (Robert Coontz, Rebecca Lasley, Rosanne Spector, or Paul Baker)) later come around and approve your post. They just make sure there’s no strong language or personal information, and that kind of thing. Then, your post appears, and you carry on the conversation! We may all seem a bit scary at first, but just act civil and we’ll all like you just fine. If you have any questions, please ask. Any of us would be very happy to answer.
It’s a pleasure to meet you, Alvida-sama. I hope you never find a live turtle in your soup. What does Alvida mean?
Pleasure to meet you, Alvida-sama. Well. whatever peer pressure you had, I’m glad you’re here.
Alvida is a pirate queen character in one of my favorite animes, OnePiece. (or was it 2 words?)
And piggy, thanks for telling me what that “awaiting moderation” means. i sorta freaked… i was like “did i say something that means something dirty in esperanto?”
44 – And pleased to meet you too, Crazy T!
*banana cream*
45- They have that in the library.
Whatever did peer pressure mean? And I’m hoping you’re better.
Welcome, alvida-sama! Here’s a nice, delicious chocolate cream pie to help you feel better…..
Hello, alvida!
Hi alvia & pax !
s and the most *tries to remember what these are called* s.
Check out the piecraft thread- we´re recruiting and it´s fun & more relaxed then most threads. It also has the worst spelling, the most
ello’ i am Adeia and should really be working on homework
(how does 1 make those pies?)
Hello, Adeia! I do believe we should all probably be working on homework. I know I should be……
The pies are made by : arrow : except without spaces between the colons and the word arrow. Enjoy!
About the age thing: (I forget what post and am too lazy to check) Pax, I’m thirteen, fourteen in May. I’ve been here for… *counts* almost six months. Wow, it’s been that long! *coughamIrespectedcough*But age doesn’t matter too much here. Everyone has different ideas of how old everyone else is.
and
s in multiple posts. Keep it all in one post.
To all neophytes, don’t worry about sounding stupid. We all did it at one point. My first 50 posts were extremely dumb, and my first post was the worst of the lot. Just have fun, you’ll learn the rules eventually! The one thing to remember, though, is that we don’t look too highly on double or triple posting. It gets really annoying. Even on the random thread, please don’t post “Whee! This is a pie!” and then multiple
52- WAIT. You’re not new, are you? Who’s Here says Adeia arrived last March. Aren’t you the same person?
Oh, I’m so confused.
anyway.
My birthday is 1/5/94. For the record, which would make me…. 15 and some. I’m sorta new, but I was on here about two year ago. Any guesses?
56- what do you mean guesses?
57–the pies from the front are made with an exclamation point surrounded by colons. : ! :
58- Thank you. Oh, I love these, but I never manage to memorize them. And I’m too lazy to check.
56- You have GreenQween’s birthday… I don’t suppose you would actually be GreenQween? Because that would be awesome.
52-No I am not new. I was saying hi to the neophytes
pies for all!
61- Oh, OK. That makes sense.
60- Maybe
I changed my name after I read the Looking Glass Wars. And after I left for…a year and some. The story goes like this. I went to camp for three weeks, and then I went to Atlanta for two weeks, and then I got my computer privileges taken away for two weeks. So that added up to a month and a half, so I didn’t feel like coming back. Oh, and my aunt canceled my Muse subscription and the renewed it this Christmas, so I remembered and came back. As Alyss.
So now you know.
63- In that case, welcome back!

63- It is you!!!!! -throws confetti and pies- I’d been wondering what happened! I tried to get in contact via the Screnzy website and your Screnzy LiveJournal, but to no avail. Eventually I decided there was no point and gave up…but now you’re back! Huzzah!
54- Very. You seem older on the blog. I thought you were here longer then me, but no. *hackhackdoesanyonelikemesneeze*
Hello Alveda-Sama! You’ll find that you are walking among mad people. If you don’t wish to [walk among mad people], well, you can’t help it. We’re all mad here! You write something in the little box, say a post that says how much you like doughnuts. i.e. (Oh, how much I love donuts! I really, really love donuts. They’re like, totally my life!)
The GAPAs will read my (your) post and decide whether it’s OK to post. Have a good time!
Have anyone seen the new neophyte? (oh, silly me, neophytes are all new) I forgot her name. Well, where ever you are, Welcome!
I’m so glad you took my advice and came. Now I just hope you find this thread like I told you to.
My friend should be coming to the blog today, hopefully. He better find this thread.
Hi, I just got introduced to Muse Blog. I couldn’t find this thread yesterday, so I posted on the Science Fiction thread and You Know You’re Addicted to Y when you X.
63- Hello Alyss Heart.
67- The only neophyte I know is me!
I was recruited by someone who says her name is CTN. Sorry for the three comments in a row.
Yay! More neophytes.
70- I was refering to you. Anyways, welcome! (sorry for double post. that happens too much to me.) And you know who and where I am now.
69 -70 ‘ello

pies for all
smiley gnome for post 74 bitte? (please)
by the waysomeone was looking for you R101 (how I will now call Randomosity 101 if he is ok with dat)
75-74 OK, thanks!
Huh, my comment just got deleted! I was trying to tell Adeia that it was fine to call me that.
Hey muse people!

My friend told me about an awesome website about life, the universe and everything, and I wanted to join so here I am.
I’m really excited about seeing the crazy amount of threads there are. I’ve checked out the books in progress thread and I want to join in.
Well. That’s me!!!!!!!
SORRY DAISY CHAIN!!!!!
66- How long have you been here?
78,79- Yay you came!
*pies in welcome*
Feel free to ask questions about anything and everything!!
Enjoy the madness!
(and don’t worry, the people are nice and you’ll fit right in soon enough!)
I’ve only been here since 4:40.
And between then and now I have accomplished to: take over a small planet named Froog, capture an HPB, and bake a pie to throw at myself!
Interesting.

What kind of pie?
Cherry?
Apple?
Banana Cream?
Why throw it at yourself? Throwing it at other people (in jest, of course) is much more fun!
*triple splat in the face of TFAtF42*
You know, your name is very hard to abbreviate. *pouts*
Preferably pumpkin. I like to throw things at myself to remind me that the HPBs are coming… And there’s not much time.
83–It could be abbreviate Fish42–that is, as long as that is fine with TFATF42.
84–Welcome to the blog! I see by your name that you are an H2G2 fan, although I confess I have not read the books.
Anyway, welcome to the pwnage that is MuseBlog! and have a nice, moist pumpkin pie…..
with a bunny hidden inside…..
84- Welcome, Thanks for All the Fish 42!

85- I haven’t either. But NAPOI (also known as athenianpsycho) could probably lend it to me.
I want to get in on the HPB thread but there is so much info to it that it would take me forever to catch up. What should I do? Should I just not get involved??????
87-usally you just ask what is going on and/or skim it
87–d’you mean Bunny Apocalypse? I’ve not got a clue.
87- If you’re talking about Bunny Apocalypse, then I must warn you that it is extremely fast-paced. I was once in it, but then I missed a few days and couldnt catch up. Then I disappeared for months.
90: Same here, my friend. I was thinking about getting involved again, but I dunno… I’ll do it tomorrow, perhaps.
Goodnight!
Oh, please. HPBs are WOMBATs.
87) The thread is VERY fast-paced, except during mid-terms and some holidays. Here’s a short summary though:
(I’ll leave out names to make it easier):
The parents were kidnapped, then rescued (threads 1-2). Then, everyone returned to the base (several small battles, threads 2-3). There was a council, then a big battle at the base (3-4). Now the HPBs are attacking the base with gas and troops. Some are fleeing, others are fighting and some are still buried in mid-term homework.
Now might not be the best time to join, but maybe after this battle. Try reading up the beginning (thread 1) and the end (thread 4) to get a rough idea, then jump in at a good time. Since some MBers are gone for a while, others post summaries. You can try to read only those (on the older threads) if you don’t have enough time. Always read all the new posts and avoid PoPoing. Good luck !
If you want to check out other threads, the World of Piecraft and the Alchemy RRR need members
93- Thanks!!!!!
I started reading the first one and I realize how long the story is…. I think it would be rude to start a new character story in the middle of the complex strory that they have all tried so hard to stay on track. Has anybody joined in the New generation while not being a member of the original threads?????
How about you daisy-chain? Have you ever posted anything on that thread? (we’re friends)
94) Thread-chrashers so far (in the middle of the story):
Me
YodaShmoda
Daisy*chain
94- I joined without being a member of the original threads, then left because it went so fast.
96) But you joined at the beginning, not randomly in the middle !
97- True…
Two words: Scooby Stories. No, I’m not talking about scooby doo! It’s this thing from a camp I was in. Ask me if you want more info.
94-
I posted on the latest BA thread (#4), if that’s what you mean.
I didn’t post on any of the other past threads because they happened a long time ago, and while they were happening I didn’t know about them.
Lots of people join several threads in, it’s absolutely normal! If you couldn’t join, it would be very unfair.
It’s true, the thread is very fast paced, so you need to check in often, and it’s often confusing as to what is happening because of the multiple point-of-views.
If you want to join, you should read maybe 10 posts or so back to find out what is currently happening. Now, however, we are in the middle of a battle of sorts, so you may want to wait a while before plunging in. You might want to read the current posts so that when the battle ends you can jump right in and you will be more or less up to date.
Hey neophytes (and anyone else), anyone want to join the RPG Alternative or Lunar Muse Academy/Sdrawkcab Ymedaca Esum RPG? Both need members.
75- If I understand correctly who R101 is, then R101 is a she.
103 – I don’t know… en seemed like a he…..
Threads that need members:
World of piecraft
Alchemy RRR
103- That is correct
OK, why don’t we post summaries of each RPG that needs members?
RPG Alternative:
Who: Right now, we only have three active members: me (Gail Thompson), Aggie (Jean Stevens), and Zinc (Zinc Caraway).
What: A steampunk/jungle RPG.
When: Victorian or Edwardian era, in a parallel universe. Click here to find out what steampunk is.
Where: Here.
Summary: The characters left on an exploration voyage, then were shipwrecked by mechanical eels and captured by natives in the jungle. The natives wanted to sacrifice Zinc, but all the characters got away and were left standing on top of a volcano. Zinc figured out that it wasn’t a volcano; she tested her theory by falling in. Aggie jumped in after her and found that you could breathe underneath the red liquid. Gail thinks it’s actually a lake, and wants some rope for some purpose only I know (I’ll RP it as soon as someone else posts).
Muse Academy Lunar:
Who: Right now, we’re just getting started; it’s me (Sabrina White), Aggie (Klara Rehfus), POSOC (Eric… ?), Alice (Sophie Johnson), and Zinc (Zinc Cyprus).
What: A lunar Muse Academy.
When: Pretty near future.
Where: Here.
Summary: See this and here.
im not on the list of membes is there a reason?
108- The GAPAs don’t update it continuously, you’ll be on there soon enough.
I like the name “R101.”
103- Welcome back!
Hey everyone!!!!!!!!! I’m a newbie, but if you see this, Muse editors, PUT A PIN ON YOUR MAP!!!! Why am I sure I will put a new pin on? BECAUSE I AM FROM EGYPT!!!!!!!!!!! That’s right, you now have a Middle Easterner as a reader of Muse. And to think I started reading Muse as the result of a homework project I was freaking out about… That, and I want more origami articles. That origami dragon was AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

111- Wow, Egypt? That’s totally cool. I’m a neophyte myself. You’re right, the oragami dragon WAS awesome.
So, when do you stop being a neophyte? How long do you have to be on this website? I don’t want to stop being a neophyte EVER!
111) Cool: it’s good to have someone in the same (or a neighboring) time zone. So far we’ve got:
America
Canada
(aren’t there some MBers from Australia and New Zeland ?)
Egypt
Austria
If you don’t know where Austria is, I’ll pie you !
(114) Don’t forget Denmark.
(111) Egypt, eh? Ahlan wa sahlan! I used to live in Cairo (Zamalek) and Alexandria.
115) Who’s from Denmark ?
116–I think Vixen in the Eyes of the Moon, is, unless I’m much mistaken. And yes, we have a New Zealander for sure (Sam, now going by Elwing), and I was thinking Insane MLDM (sorry if those letters are wrong) was from Australia from a comment she made.
115–Really? For how long? Did you go visit the pyramids?
I’m afraid most of my knowledge of Egypt is most certainly not up to date….my mental image of Egypt is pharaohs and pyramids (yes, I know, those are still around) and basically, I think of it back as it was in ancient times. Of course, I know that it has cities just like any other modern country, I just can’t picture it.
(117) I worked there for a year in the 1980s. In my free time I visited all sorts of pyramids, including a bent pyramid, the step pyramid at Saqqara, and a later (New Kingdom) brick pyramid that hadn’t held up so well. I also acted in plays with the Cairo community theater, including an Agatha Christie murder mystery (“Spider’s Web”) in which the female lead was Nancy Kangas’s first cousin!
113) You can pick. Usually, you stop being a -phyte after a month or so. some people skip being -phytes, others are still -phytes after several months… just tell us.
111-Welcome!

Rachael, my apologies! I didn’t welcome you to the blog in my last post!
That was an unintentional oversight, I think I was in too much of a rush to go take a nap before my next class.
So, I”ll make up for it with extra pies!
Welcome!

111- Welcome! I’m RoseQuartz. Some people may refer to me as LadyG because my previous blogname was LadyGaladriel. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
111 – Welcome to the blog!

By the way, GAPAs, could one of you please capitalize my name on the “Who’s Here” list? Thanks!
113 (and any other ‘phytes)- I disagree with 119. You stop being a neophyte when you stop acting like one. Most neophytes (myself included, when I was one) have a very distinct style of posting, which becomes apparent as you stay here longer. When you lose that style, stop trying to fit in, and, thus, actually do fit in well, you’re no longer a neophyte.
Does the Muse staff keep some sort of a list of reader locations? I know there are many more diverse people who read than come here. There was someone from South Korea a few issues back, and someone from France. I wonder where else Musers reside?
Hello, MBers! I recently decided to come check Musublog out after a while on Chaterbox! I get pies now, right? *bounces up and down excitedly* PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE! I like pie. Not Pi. Pi is too mathsy. But Pie is good. Like apple pie? Apple pie rules. Not as much as regular apples though. Mmm… Apples… Is there an apple smiley? Didn’t think so… Bleah.
125- Welcome!
I got started on MB the same way! Do you get Muse? I didn’t when I first started.
Nope. I get Cricket, and I was extremely reluctant to graduate to that. Didn’t do so until I was twelve, (which I still am) and my Spider subscription ran out. Now I quite possibly wouldn’t go back to spider if I did still get it, but I get set in my ways. Anyway… I should be doing school. BUTMUSEBLOGISSOMUCHMORE
FUN!! Sorry, my words tend to run together when I’m excited. Which I usually am. I try to remain coherent though. I need a new name. I tire of this one. Perhaps… Eros? Greek god of dawn, you know. I like greek mythology. Probably I’ll use something from there.
127- Wow, you sound exactly like I did when I started!!!! Yes, M\useBlog is so much more fun.
Soo…. The pie throwing symbol is like this?
Did that work?
But they weren’t being thrown! HOW DO YOU DO THAT???? School is blah. But I have to do it. I’m homeschooled, by the way, which is how I’m on here. Reminds me, they could come on MB, and catch me in the act. I must be off.
127) Cool.
If you like pies, check out the world of piecraft !
Hm…
Did that work?
It did! I saw it, but nobody would explain what it was about, so I didn’t stay long. I keep checking back though. Will no one help a poor neophyte? I throw pies until you do.

Wait, that’s a waste of good pies. I stop now. *eats rest of pies*
WHAT?!? Why did half of my pies turn in to the coding thing? *sobs*
[Dry your tears. A Smiley Gnome took pity on your distress.]
133) You need to leave one space between
s and text, and TWO spaces between
. Don’t worry, it’s happened to everyone at least once.
124- Wait, I don’t try to fit in. I try to STAND OUT. Does that mean I’m *gulp* NOT a neophyte? I wanna still be one! GRR!!!!
136) I´ll refer to you as a -phyte as long as you want.
s the -phyte above her, aka R101*
*
137- Thanks!
136–Fear not. Whatever you have been doing, [and I say this at the risk of sounding like a grumpy, annoying long-term MBer–but you did say you want to be thought of as a ‘phyte] you have, in my mind, succeeded in almost every post you’ve made to make it quite apparent that you are a ‘phyte.
Welcome, StarFire!

Welcome yourself -*CTN*-! …Well, not exactly ‘welcome’ but…

I figured out a new name! I am now Errata! I think it’s the plural of ‘Errors’… It sounds cool.
142- Well, in Latin, yes. The singular is erratum.
Ahh. *notices she put the plural of the word she was saying was singular, if that makes sense* *blushes*
I embarrassed now. *hides under HPB in shame*
Ookay, umm…
144- *hides under HPB in shame* Um, strange. I would rather fling myself off a cliff into a pit of fire ants than hide under a HPB. *shutter*
I’m waiting for a couple of people to come, but I don’t know when.
147- A couple?? Who else did you tell?
147- You lucky, they actually listened to you? My friends all thought I was crazy
149- so did mine, and then I got one to join me! *cackles*
I got a friend to join too! *joins in cackling* (cackling looks kind of strange. I wonder.)
And before that, my friend got me to join! Hooray for AthenianPsycho!
Yeah, CTN recruited me.
Hi! I just came. How do you put signs.
Please reply
Hello gamingnewt!!
*pies in welcome*
If by signs you mean smiley-faces and such, go to the HG2MB
*fervently hopes the link worked*
153,4- Welcome to MuseBlog!
I’m glad to see you found your way here just fine. First of all, please use proper punctuation, grammar, spelling, etc., on MuseBlog. You’ll be much more widely liked if you do so. Second, I assume that by “signs” you mean emoticons, or smilies. To do so, go to the Hitchhiker’s Guide to MuseBlog and scroll to the bottom. There are numerous codes for smilies. To use them, simply type a colon, or “:”, the word inside the colons, and then another colon. Make sure that there are two spaces between your smilie and any other text/smilies, otherwise they will not work. Just hang in there and you’ll soon become “one of us”…
153 – Hello, gamingnewt!
And this blog is like a forum, replies do not come immediately. I’m afraid you’ll have to be more patient in the future.
(155) It worked indeed, Daisy*chain. Good job!
158- Thank you!
I’m going to make a guide (in Word) on how to do HTML so I don’t forget again…
153- Hello, gamingnewt!

Err… I don;’t have much to say. Well, Welcome!
Welcome, all neophytes! I hope everyone likes MB, and doesn’t act confused for too long. o-LAAAY, o-LAAAY!
Welcome, gamingnewt! Please receive my welcoming pie… IN THE FACE!! But you’ll be okay if you just know this:

Devil is awesome, yes.
Well, it appears that there are a lot of new people here! Welcome all! I present you all with my very special gift, my famous chocolate kiwi pie! *pies*
Pie!
*sob* How dare you close down the February Random Thread before we achieved our desired 500 posts! We were only a mere 4 away. *sniffle*
Welcome, ‘phytes! Please, do have some pie….
I know this isn’t this thread’s purpose, but the random thread is, of course, not up yet…..
For a second there when I first hit refresh, I thought perhaps we were back to normal colors, but I see that that is not the case. I’m sure you’re still working on ’em, but I would suggest darkening the comment box and the colors around the posts–they’re a bit too pale, blending into the white background a little too much. But I do like the change!
(174) Actually, if you’re going to be off topic, it’s better to go to the H&H. As for the colors, all I did was click to return to the default setting.
Helloooo, my small gaming newt! I like newts and gaming! (as I’m sure we all do) Welcome to the blog. Of course I arrived late, as usual, and missed the pies and tips, so…uh, well, I got nothing. *pies gamingnewt with belatedDevil pie* Have fun!
What in the world is this place? Is tehre a person under the name of TNö?
177-There certainly is! How do you do, Thunderleaf? It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Red-tailed HAWK, RtH and/or HAWK for short. Welcome to MuseBlog! Did TNO send you?
Hello, young Thunderleaf!
I assume TNO has told you about the welcome pies.
177) Bonjour!
How’re you? Welcome welcome! *pies*
Yes, a person that goes by the TNO is here somewhere.
In case you didn’t know, my blogname is kiwimuncher!
*pies again*
177- Welcome, ThunderLeaf!

Ever since I was welcomed here less than a year ago, I felt that I should welcome every neophyte I can!
So…welcome!
*pies*
TNO must be here somewhere, don’t worry.
And this is MuseBlog ! (obviously)
