So, the hurricane chamber–what is it, exactly? Does it do anything? Or is it just a little itty bitty capsule which you sit in? Not that wouldn’t be cool, just curious…….
The rock wall looks like lots of fun! We’ve got one at the rec center here on campus–I’ve been meaning to go and get certified (required for use–been meaning to since August) so that I can use it, cuz it would be muy awesome. Judging from the lack of ahrness, though, would I be correct in assuming it is not as tall as the picture makes it out to be? More of a bouldering wall, perhaps? Not that that isn’t just as cool, I don’t men that……

At first, we waited in side the museum. My knees were shaking so hard, I thought that they were going to fall off! Then we got inside we did the initial double take (whoa, she looks like that? I still can’t get over it) and eventually started joking around. Twas fun, but you should’ve seen the pictures we took inside off the triangle thing with the mirrors on all sides!

Yes, the Kokon was a lot of fun. My only regret is that I didn’t get to have the fun of looking for Zinc. While we were in line to get tickets, my mom pointed at a big window and I saw Zinc waving from inside. Oh, and Hibiscus and tangerine are identical twins. Hibiscus is in green, and tangerine is in yellow.

Kokonventions I could get to (cities I go to): I live relatively near Washington, DC and I’m usually able to make it down there. My parents are pro-Muse and MuseBlog, so that makes it rather easier.
I have family in Wisconsin, and if you time it right I might be going through Chicago or Milwaukee, usually in the summer sometime, but I really don’t know when we’ll go visit again.
We were planning on going to Boston sometime, but I don’t know when. Probably spring/summer.
Of course, I also spend time in Williamsburg VA, if there’s anyone down there (or planning to see Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown) I might be able to have a Kokon there.
RE: MissSwan and Red-tailed HAWK’s marriage
Last February 29th (it was a leap year) the GAPAs made a thread about it, and mentioned that Feb. 29 was traditionally the day when girls could propose to their sweethearts.
HAWK posted and said that he was disappointed because no one had proposed to him (I have reason to believe he was being facetious). MissSwann, not wanting him to be sad, proposed, and he accepted. They’ve been engaged since then, but I’m not sure if they were ever married, I don’t think so. Anyway, what started as a joke wasn’t forgotten, so we tease them whenever we get the chance.
Have any Musers ever lived in Michigan or are going to visit? If not I don’t blame you, it’s a boring place, but still, my family doesn’t travel out of state very often.

I’m pretty sure I visited Williamsburg when I was much younger (at least ten years ago), when me, my sis, parents, and grandma went on a trip up the East coast. It was something of an “educational” vacation, where we visited all sorts of historical sites, such as Jamestown (and I think Williamsburg), and drove all the way up to DC, spent a day or so there, then turned around to head back to FL. It was awesome–one of the best vacations of my life. I really, really enjoyed it.

122–“Picture link thing.” Basically, you find a pic, you click it, so its got a window w/ just it, copy the URL, paste into your post, and if the GAPAs are feeling especially generous, or are not particularly busy, they will post it as an image.
I would like to point out, that the GAPAs prefer us not to do this very often, as it does create a fair bit of work for them.

Then, last March, I changed it to “Zinc the… aw, darn brain fart!” During the last May Day Ball, l was Zinc the wizard, until MissSwann thought I was of the opposite gender, so I changed it to Zinc the sorceress (no suns). Leafygreen came, I become a sorceress/vampire, undid that, we became kids who had problems, got rid of Leafy, added suns, and became what I am now. *yay!*

I’m game for the Boston kokon, but I need to talk to my mom and dad and see if they’ll let me……
Over Thanksgiving dinner, a couple of friends and I plotted and acted out a movie called “Night of the Living Sporks.”

College/kokons/parental consent:
The problem is more of stalkers reading the blog, not being members of our community, that being why we can’t post personal details such as where we live or are going and what we are wearing on a certain day. (for example if I said I was going to the NGA and wearing a purple tanktop and blue sneakers along with a description of myself, it would get snipped. As it is, I’m wearing a purple tanktop and barefoot, you can easily tell what I look like by searching through old threads, but I’m sitting in my room at home, and you don’t know where that is in any more detail that I live in MD, not too far away from Washington, DC and near a few state lines. Thus, this shouldn’t get snipped.)
It would be awesome to go to college with other musers, I’m sure it would be very interesting. Since when you’re over 18 here on MB you’re supposed to ask the GAPAs to retain your pseudonym and are able to reveal full names, I assume they consider that (to some extent) adulthood. Faye, who only drops by occasionally used her full name because she joined after turning 18.
I don’t know how they would do on kokonventions though, since that’s a rather more tricky thing. See, if any one of us turns out to be a stalker/rapist/other such unsavory character and one of us gets hurt, one the GAPAs would feel terrible about it, and two, they would have to worry about legal dealings in case you decided to sue them for having MB.
I suppose that after turning 18 you could reveal your full name, make a facebook or myspace account and allow other musers to look you up off-blog in order to arrange a kokonvention betwixt yourselves. I’m not saying that’s realy the best way, it’s just one possibility that would leave the GAPAs free of guilt if anything happened, and I seriously doubt that any of the musers are stalkers so that shouldn’t be too risky.
I’d love to meet as many MBers as I can, I think you’re an awesome bunch of people and I consider you good friends.
151) Oh yes that’s quite another thing about college. I think there’s a good few of us who will being going to college at the same time (how strange to say that, though!). But I don’t want to worry any of the GAPAs with snippable stuff so that’s all for now.
But I totally understand it…likely the outside means (facebook or some such, though I abhor most “social networking ” ) is more sensible. I’m just a bit curious, is all.

Gah, going to college at the same time as other musers. Scary thought, I know, but true. I’ll be headed in that direction in just a few years. *horror* I have no idea where I want to go, except this one place, and I know it’s a bad idea to have all your hopes on one school, but……it looks awesome. *sigh* I’ll have to look up other places too of course, but I don’t even know what’s out there! Gah, I know what I’d like (history and music, preferably with overlap, other classes as well, interesting student body, affordable tuition and nice campus, for starters), but I really don’t know where to find it. Oh, and the Eastern Kentucky University has nasty dorms and really bad public computers, as of 5 years ago.
I stayed there once for a Blacksmithing convention that was held on the campus–mom went and dad and I trailed along.

I think it would be after noon though, because we’ll be at the Wellesley reunion thing. We’ve all agreed that it’s at the Science Museum, right? Friday or Saturday might also work, but I can’t say for sure until we find out more about reunion. August… I’m pretty sure that’s still on as well, but we have no idea when the wedding is so I don’t know when I’m going to be there yet, nor do I know where/when it would be possible to meet up.

Okay then, points to consider about the date of the Boston kokon:
A weekend (the 13th) might be easier for some people to get to.
However, the museum would probably be less crowded on a weekday (the 11th/12th).
My mom says that if we’re doing weekdays, the 12th is easier for us than the 11th, but we can do any of them if other people have stronger reasons. (My mom has a yoga class on Thursdays and I have a capoeira class. Both cancelable.)
GAPAs, my parents emailed you about four months ago, but if that somehow got lost in your e-mailbox, I can get them to do it again. Just tell me if it’s necessary.
222- Yes, I’d say the 12th is probably best. I’m not entirely sure whether…. oh, right. Yeah. Um, so, we’re leaving Thursday the 11th in the morning, so late afternoon on the 11th or maybe early afternoon if we actually leave before 10 (we’re quite slow on trip mornings). The 12th would be good probably any time, and the museum is open till 9. The 13th there’s not much of a slot, because of the reunion stuff at Wellesley, but if there is we could Kokonvene… whenever that is. The 14th is probably not good, but could be engineered.

263-The only good thing about them (that I can think of) is that they make your teeth pretty and straight.
264- Yeah, I don’t really want braces, but I have semi-buckteeth which I get annoyed with periodically, and then I wish they could get fixed somehow. (When I read the–I forget, 4th? Harry Potter book, I was so jealous of Hermione, because her teeth got fixed instantaneously.) But my parents have a moral objection to braces, so I doubt I’ll be getting any, despite the fact that basically all my friends have them. Our dentist hates my family, because we refuse to take Novocain when having cavities done and won’t get X-rayed or take our fluoride treatments. (Because fluoride is a toxic byproduct (I forget what of) that used to be used in nuclear waste treatment factories but ultimately was banned as being too hazardous to your health, so now they put it in toothpaste. Logical, right? This is actually true.)
I wanna go! I’ll have my mom email the GAPAs and tell them… er, what, exactly is she supposed to tell you? Just that I have permission to go?
Okay, my mom sent in her e-mail and she said it was recieved. She also said the GAPAs told her to tell me to remind everybody else going to the Kokon who hasn’t already sent in their e-mail to send it ASAP.

Eleven? Nine? I thought they’d all be about 2 years older than that.
271- mm. I’m old in comparison. This feeling is the opposite of how I was feeling all weekend which I spent around people in an age range of their 80s to kids. There were mostly people in their 30s through 50s though.
