Yes!
That’s also my friend Elise’s birthday. I think.

YAY DR SEUSS WE LOVE YOU DON’T DIE OH WAIT YOU ALREADY DID NEVER MIND!!!!!
SEUSSICAL is like the second best musical ever. (WICKED is No. 1)
Actually. make SEUSSICAL No. 3 — can’t forget about PIRATES OF PENZANCE.
PIRATES OF PENZANCE is skiddy dense, Duncan! “I am the very model of a modern major general, I’ve information vegetable and animal and mineral…” It’s really an operetta, though. And RUDDIGORE is the best operetta. “My Eyes Are Fully Open” is so difficult to sing at the recommended pace. I can do it, though.
Happy birthday Dr. Seuss, happy birthday to you! Many happy returns of the day.
Happy birthday DOCTOR SUESS!
My first book was One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.
My first book was Go Dog Go, followed by Little House in the Big Woods.
And Nora’s Stars, too. Awwww.
My first book was a DR. Suess book, although I don’t remember which. It had a parrot on the cover.
Last year, I passed a note to Emily in Science class saying that I didn’t like my teacher’s laugh. She wrote back in Dr. Suess style.
“You do not like that laugh, you say
You do not like that laugh, no way
Would you likeit if it was meaner?
Would you like it if it was cleaner?”
We wrote back and forth to each other in that style for a bit, and ended up with a nice poem. I wish I could find it.
Mine was also One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. I can still recite huge chunks of it. “From there to here, from here to there, / Funny things are everywhere.” So true…
My patron Dr. Seuss book was always “Hop on Pop”. Happy birthday, Dr. Seuss!
happy birthday to you
you live in a zoo!
you smell like a monkey!
aaaand, you look like one too!!!
happy b-day dr. seuss!!!
my first book was… hmmm… i don’t remember… i’ll have to ask my mom. but i remember when my sister was born when i was 3, i read her a lot of dr. seuss books and others as well even though she was asleep half of the time!
Phoenix (11),
“Stop! You must not hop on Pop!”
I loved that one and Fox in Socks: “Please, sir, please, sir, Mister Fox, sir,/ Let’s play tricks with bricks and blocks, sir. / Let’s play tricks with chicks and clocks, sir!”
They don’t write ’em like that anymore.
I liked The Cat in the Hat Comes Back . All the little Cats from A to Z were really funny. And also You’re Only Old Once .
WICKED THE MUSICAL ROCKS!
When I was little we used to always make green eggs and ham for Dr. Seuss day and one year we used too much food dye and the eggs were like a neon green. it was gross. i loved dr. seuss though, but i was always afraid of the grinch, especially the song
When I was little we often used to visit our cousins in La Jolla. One time my parents told me Dr. Seuss lived just a few houses away from them. It was strange to think of him as a real person, living in a real house.
of course. authors aren’t real people. i mean, they are real people, ut they are not to be associated with their books.
i like the green eggs and ham book.. but ever since i looked at the skool’s green eggs and ham…. yikes!
WE also made green eggs and ham on Dr. Suess’s birthday and i would make them really, really green , im talking like bright lime green. my sister would refuse to eat them.
I associate Terry Pratchett with his books.
So, my first and third grade teacher, who now teaches second grade, and is also my neighbor, always celebrates Dr. Suess day with her class. She came to school today wearing a cat in the hat hat, the bow tie, and red and white striped tiights. Her whole class of 7 and 8 year olds were wearing the bow ties.
I found my first Suess book! It was Oh Say Can You Say?
I loved that book. I was so proud of myself when I could actually say the tongue twisters.
Ha, I remember that! Good Ol’ Theodore Giezel. Hop On Pop!
On the fifteenth of May
In the jungle of Nool
In the heat of the day,
In the cool of the pool,
He was splashing
Enjoying the jungle’s great joys
When Horton the elephant
Heard a small noise.
Dr. Seuss did not teach me to read. A.A. Milne did. Sigh. Oh, happy days…still, Ted’s very cool.
I like A. A. Milne. Although in my opinion he made Pooh a little too stupid.
Pooh’s supposed to be stupid. But nice. Which is why his friends work so hard for him. Like Bertie Wooster, but younger and different.
Happy birthday Dr. Seuss! I’ve always loved the “The 500 Hats of Bartholemew” what ever his name is!
helhola everybody! go dr. suess! he rox my bookshelf!
wicked is the best musical next 2 guys and dolls
happy b-day
wen i was a wee little thing my favorite book was GO DOG GO! (dr suess)
On the fifteenth of May

Heard a smaaaaaaal noise.
My friend still has that memorized…
i think everyone should be required to read the Lorax. the world might be a better place
nooooo. sorry, ave. BYE BYE BIRDIE is wayyy better. (but wicked is better than both.)
Happy birthday Dr. Seuss! Hats off to The Cat in the Hat!!!
Dr. Seuss actually scares me…all those machines with hands…AAAA! He also wrote political cartoons, which I am fond of.
yes…#36, I like your name….it’s very interesting and I wonder if there is anyone who has that for a REAL name. If there is I feel sorry.
Hooray for Dr. Seuss, creator of really catchy ryhmes that helped us all to learn to read!
Happy birthday, Suess Man, even if I am a couple days late. Don’t interrupt my mother while she’s plunking berries in!
I love the Lorax. But Horton Hears a Who is still my favorite. I drew a really good picture of him once, holding the clover in his trunk and with monkeys and jungle animals after him……….I wonder where it is?
Nice name, Roonil Wazlib. Good memories…I love the HP books.
I love dr. Seuss. His books still rule the majority of my bookcase
At school, those dumb kids who think they’re so cool think Dr. Suess is on drugs. It’s sad that just when someone has a good imagination, they atomaticly assume such atrocities.
I like the story he wrote where that guy cuts down all the trees. So sad, (sniff). I fear that’s happening to our world today. Must be the presidents falt.
that’s the Lorax its my favorite too
I’m gonna try to convince everyone that the Lorax is the best. HEYY, EVERYONE, THE LORAX IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Lorax does rock.
I’m also Someone out there, but someone out there was too vague. Just thought I’d say that.
I know someone who is past almost 30 and has the whole Sleep Book memorized. She loves it. She also sleeps at all hours, too.
dr. seuss’s books are good, but his political cartoons are amazing. at least the few i’ve seen…
Yeah……..
the lorax was so sad…
#52 – the lorax was sad…..all the truffula trees……..
I probably sound so ignorant…..I didn’t know that Dr. Seuss (Ted Geisel) wrote political comics.
I bet half the people on teh planet don’t know that. Especially if you count Africa, and Asia, since I don’t think Dr. Suess’ books are around that area.
I didn’t know he wrote cartoons. how can I see some.
The suecical is the coolest thing ever!!!! everything Dr. Suesse did was cool.
DOCTOR SEUSS IS THE MOST DECLASSE THING IN THE WORLD EXCEPT RONALD MCDONALD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHY DOES HE DESERVE HIS OWN THREAD??????????????????
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????////
I PITY THEE, O BRAINWASHED MASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
will give extensive rant for virtual choklit.
truffula trees are cool
DOESN’T ANYONE LISTEN TO ME???????????????????????????
14 — THANK ALL THAT IS HOLY
although, admittedly, how the grinch stole christmas was pretty good.
What do you have against Seuss?
Doctor Seuss books are the best they were my favourite little kid books. I made my parents and sister read them to me constantly. (I think that’s why my sister doesn’t particularly care for Dr. Seuss.)
By the way, speaking of Dr. Seuss, that quote on page 5 in the January 2006 issue (“the comfortable sound of the
Humming-Fish humming”) comes from “The Lorax”. Just thought people might be interested as we supposedly get points for getting that right. Of course, I think my points should go to an all Harry Potter mag. After all, they did a LOTR one.
bluemorpho’sghost- we just dont love you. thats why we ignore you.
Just kidding.
Why do hate Dr Seuss??? He was a genius!! His illustrations are so stylistic! All his characters have awesome fingertips (yes, I do mean that. Go look one of his books). And Im just mentioning that because every one here has already mentioned how great his writing is! Pray, do explain this inexplicable grudge against Dear Dr S.
I LOVE DR. SEUSS!!!!!!!
Welcome, Michelle W.
