i have 2 beagles. Jade and December. they are twins and they are soooooooooooooooo cute. i have 3 younger siblings who are 11, they are triplets- Jessica, Tyler, and Paul, and my sister, Brooke, who is 17 years old. i also have a horse, Twinings Prince of Wales, who is a 9 year old thoroughbred, who we mostly call October. i show on her almost every weekend, and im out working with her at least 2 hours each day. it ALOT of work

SO people like to joke about those a lot, generally because we like to joke about virtually everything

All her life, Heather Uber loved adventure and the outdoors, so when her older daughter joined the Peace Corps and moved to the West African nation of Cameroon in September 2002, Uber eagerly made plans to travel there.
But that visit ended tragically Thursday morning when Uber, a 55-year old mother of four, was killed by a rampaging elephant while visiting a wildlife park with her husband and daughter.
Uber, of Point Breeze, suffered internal injuries when she was knocked down by the elephant, which suddenly charged at the group from a distance of about 40 feet, said Ned Uber.
“Everything happened so fast,” said Uber, who, along with his daughter, Holly, 23, was able to dodge behind a tree. But his wife and another member of the party were knocked to the ground. “Heather ended up getting bumped by the elephant’s tusk in the lower left abdomen. We all tried to run around a tree, but they’re really fast compared to people.”
It took nearly an hour to get Heather Uber out of the park, and then, another two hours by car over nearly 100 miles of bumpy roads to the nearest hospital in the city of Garoua. Uber, who had lost consciousness during the car ride, died only a few minutes after arriving at the hospital.
“At some point, she thought she wasn’t going to make it, so she started telling us to make sure we told [our other children] she loved them,” her husband said. “And she told us not to blame ourselves for making the trip. And she said a lot of other good things.”
The park is one of several in Cameroon dedicated to protecting and preserving the elephant population, Uber said. Clashes between the animals and humans over a shrinking habitat have increased in recent years, resulting in numerous deaths each year there and in other parts of Africa. Safari operators routinely warn tourists that they run a greater risk of being hurt or killed by charging elephants than by lions or rhinoceroses.
Bill Langbauer, director of science and conservation at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, has spent parts of the last 20 years in Africa researching elephants. He said it’s risky to be close to them under any circumstances.
“Even at 150 feet away, we’d get nervous,” Langbauer said.
“They can go as fast as an Olympic sprinter once they get going. And if you’re that close, and you get between a mother and a baby, it’s very dangerous.”
Unlike horses and other “prey” animals that spook easily, elephants don’t usually get startled by sudden movements, he said.
“When they do act spontaneously like that, there are usually calves involved, or a male who is in ‘must’ — when his testosterone [levels] are up — and he goes into a rage.”
Uber, who brought his wife’s body back to Pittsburgh late Saturday, said he didn’t know if the elephant was a female protecting her young or not.
But he said he and his wife were fully aware of myriad risks presented by visiting a poor country like Cameroon, where the back roads were so dangerous that “we got two flat tires in eight hours of driving before finally deciding to switch to a train instead — and even they are known to derail frequently.”
Uber said he and his wife did their best to take precautions throughout their trip, first when traveling to Ngan-Ha, a village of 1,500 people where their daughter was stationed, and later when visiting the park.
“We made the best decisions about what we knew and understood. The stuff we didn’t know about, well, we did the best we could,” Uber said.
News of Uber’s death spread like wildfire over the weekend through the Swedenborgian church community, where she and her husband were lifetime members. She was also a member of the parish council at that denomination’s 90-member Pittsburgh New Church in Point Breeze and taught at the church’s school.
She was a beloved fixture in her neighborhood, “where you could set your clock each morning by when she walked their dog, Rex,” recalled Polly McQueen.
“She was the quintessential mother and wife, 100 percent devoted to her family,” said McQueen.
Mrs. Uber, a sports enthusiast, faithfully attended cross-country meets at Allderdice High School to watch her children compete, she added. Her daughter, Bronwyn, later became a member of the crew team at Brown University, and Edwin plays football at Carnegie Mellon University, where he is studying for an engineering degree.
“She was a quiet person, but once you got to know her, her feelings were right there,” said McQueen. She recalled that after Uber took her younger son, Swain, to a Swedenborgian high school in Philadelphia, “she showed me a poem he had left for her on the seat of her car. There were big tears in her eyes.”
Uber was also an avid supporter of her children’s public schools — first Reizenstein Middle School in Shadyside, where she was an early member of the Parents’ Care group, which provided support for teachers and staff, and later at Allderdice, where she helped start a similar program and eventually became treasurer of the PTO. And she spent much of the past decade overseeing the Rock Ledge Garden Club’s Seeds for Teachers program, which distributed free seeds for classroom projects for more than 200 teachers.
“It would have never survived without her efforts,” said Helen Lee, a fellow gardener, who said Uber had also become an accomplished flower show judge in recent years.
When Holly Uber left for Africa for her stint in the Peace Corps, “Heather missed her,” Ned Uber said. But her reason for journeying to Cameroon went beyond just a maternal yen to see a child.
“It was really about experiencing what your kids are experiencing, what it’s like to live in a village with no electricity or running water. This was going to be an adventure, not a vacation.
“People talk about dying with your boots on, and that’s what happened here,” he said.
Besides her husband and four children, she is survived by her sister, Candace Ziegler, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and her three brothers, Ronald Nelson, of Bryn Athyn, Montgomery County, and Alvin and Perry Nelson, both of Glenview, Ill.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the Pittsburgh New Church in Point Breeze. Funeral Arrangements are by H. Samson Inc.

anyone want to hear about the saga of the Watergun? well too bad because i’m going to say it anyway:
Girl ! gets creamed with a water baloon by girls 2 and 3
girl 1 takes revenge by attacking them with a watergun
girl 2 decides that it was girl 3’s fault that the two of them are getting squirted, seizes water gun and squirts girl 3
girl 3 seizes watergun and squirts girl 2
somehow girl 4 gets involved in this and ends up getting chased and squirted by girl 1. she hides behind girl 5 (me) to try and protect herself from girl 1. what actually ends up happening is that both girls get squirted.
girl 6 asks to be squirted and whoever had the watergun then happily obliges.
the bus arrives. everyone gets on. girl 2 seizes water gun, opens a window and starts to squirt girls 7, 8, and 9, who are sitting on the sidewalk.
girl 1 seizes watergun and goes to where girl 3 is sitting and sqirts her in the ear.
girl 10 complains about the childishness of everyone involved, and so they stop.

You know, Meg Cabot is actually an outrageously funny writer, but all of her books have far too similar a plot. Here’s how the typical Cabot Plot goes:
Story starts with teenage girl normally near or at the bottom of the social chain. Girl has big crush on guy who barely acknowledges her existence. Girl usually has a weird best friend and some type of creative talent that most other characters could less about but is really very great. Also has super-popular arch nemesis.
Girl bops along like that for awhile until they are made hugely famous by some totally random, out of the blue occurence. For example, finding that she is the sole heir to the throne of a small European principality.
Girl hates their fame, wants to get rid of it, complains about it a lot. Then, they get caught up in one situation or the other involving their newfound celebrity status, and their normal life crashes.
Girl makes everything right just in time for a happy ending, gets the guy, her creative talent is exposed and admired by at least some of her peers.
THE END
See? Totally predictable.

this is a random thread, so i shall be relatively random.
. i’m reading Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld and it made me want to investigate the boarding school closest to my home. It’s about an hour’s drive south and it’s Emma Willard all-girls’ boarding school. I would love something with higher academic standards, My parents can afford to send me there, and I really need to find out how to take care of myself and acquire a sense of responsibility (i’m an only child and have virtually no chores). Plus, I really want more academic oppotunities class-wise .
What do you think? Should I investigate? What have you heard about boarding schools? Do you know someone who goes to one? Do you go to one? What about the all-girl’s part? Do you think the academic and atmospheric opportunity is worth the money and not living at home?

137: Well, a friend of the family goes to an all girls boarding school. I havent talked to her in years, but from what Ive hear, she loves it. I think it would be cool. Howver, I would miss my friends, family and house. Also, it could be hard if you dont get along with some of the girls and you have to share a dorm. But, hey looking into it cant hurt!
No worries Gwendolyn… I know what its like to be left out of an inside joke. I must admit that Ive only read the first three of the trilogy (and there are 5. and yes, its still called a trilogy). We love you anyway.

Today is Israeli Independance Day! Yesterday we had to be depressed because it was Israeli Memorial Day for all the soldies who have died EVER, but today we do color war! This day marks the unofficial end of skool!
I still have to write a term paper, though, and take placements tests for highschool, and take finals. Yurgh.
But this summer, I may learn to be a PILOT!!! My parents and I saw this poster sponsered by the Air Force that teaches kids to fly, and sends them on civil missions on home soil. How awesome would that be? I always wanted to be a pilot, and if I start this summer (if my parents allow me to) I could get my liscence by the time I was a junior!

Hullo. My arm is still sorta sore from my stupid tetanus shot yesterday. It’s not too bad, but yesterday, it didn’t exactly hurt really, but it felt like it was falling asleep, and unlike when your arm is really falling asleep, you can’t move it and make it stop feeling that way. Oh, well.
My AP Calc test was this morning. I had to leave my house at 7. I’d set my alarm clock for 6 am last night, so I’d have an hour to get ready. Somehow, though, it ended up not turned on, or something. When my mom got up at 6:30, she came and woke me up, so I had to take a really quick shower and all that and eat in the car. Oh well, I was ready on time, which is surprising. The annoying thing is, I know I double checked my alarm last night and it was set. I probably turned it off in my sleep…
Anyways, I’m not sure how I did. On the first section of multiple choice, there were 28 problems and you couldn’t use a calculator. I skipped 11 I think… On the next section of multiple choice, there were 17 problems and you could use a calculator. I skipped around five or so…The next section was free resonse. You could use a calculator and had 45 minutes to do three multistep problems. No clue how I did on that, I wrote something down for all of them, dunno if it was necessarily right, though…Then there was another free response section. You couldn’t use a calculator and it was three multistep problems also and the same length… Wrote something down for all of them also. I hope I got at least a 2…I’d be relatively happpy with a 2, I’d hate to get a 1, though, that’s the lowest you can get. Anyway, I don’t really have anything else to say, so g’bye peoples.

Today was fun. I didn’t get any homework in Lang-yays! During physics, Headcase and I did this cool lab. We’re in a unit about sound waves now, so the lab involved messing around with tuning forks. Tuning forks are very interesting.

Creative project due Fri. Oh joy. Why i’m starting it tonight, i honestly don’t know. I felt like a bit of procrastinating, and you can’t do that without having something to procrastinate on i guess…oh well. Point being, here i am.
Really tired too…had killer stomachache this morning, was basically dead until gym, where we played tennis (yay! i like tennis) was slightly more active than usual in that class, and resumed deadness for band. We ate outside cuz middle skoolers were testing, so we couldn’t go in the hallway. Math test, easy, although due to my state of being dead, i stared at the first problem wondering what i did wrong for about ten minutes before i figured out that i had mixed up the points…tried to prove MO parallel to M’N’ instead of MN, of course that was impossible. Anyway. Test in science too, nutt bad. Spent most of the remainder of the day lazing around and arguing with my mom over comp privileges.
Not much else up…oh i got to play 1st part in jazz band because there were a total of 2 trumpets again (did i mention this already? Might’ve) Anyway, billy was sick, i don’t know where peter, mike, and sean were but they were most definitely not present, and david apparantely forgot about it completely. Leaving me and aaron. Joy.
Oh yes and Andy can get his temps tomorrow. We figured since he’ll be driving first, he’ll be our free taxi service. He says no, but he’s quite deluded, poor chap. Nobody can withstand the combined might of my Orps and Weetabixes, Lizzy’s pokes and rambling arguments that always win, and jacob’s puppy dog eyes, and our collective stealing of various personal items. It’s in the bag.
Hey gwen, is Ice Age 2 any good? I might go see it if i’m bored…
Time rocks. Yes it does precious. Although not quite as much as muse.

I can’t say for sure that this applies in your case, but guys that age often say terrible, hurtful things they don’t mean. It can happen during moments when, well, I guess you’d call it romantic tension builds up between a boy and a girl he likes and who apparently likes him–particularly if other people are around. The boy, being (like most boys that age) thoroughly geeky and graceless in social situations, can’t handle it, thinks “Yow! Get me out of here!”, panics, and tries to turn the whole thing into a joke. But as he’s thoroughly g&g, it’s a lousy, humiliating joke. He’ll feel bad about it later but will be too embarrassed to apologize and will tough it out instead. Forever. It’s sad.

However, I don’t think you really need to be using Xanga all day in school. You have the chance to get a good education; Why waste it? I stayed home from school today because I had a busy last week. I now have an ear infection and a bad cold at the same time.
Since I am too lazy to get a letter in the mail, i thought it might be interesting to see what everyone would think of my Remembering Or Not contest thing . . .
I had this baby china doll in a little blue bunny costume. It was on my dresser, but I liked it so much that i found a way to get it down. (I was little, about 4). So I was walking around my house carrying my baby. Our living room contects with the kitchen and dining room. Living room has carpet and the other two rooms have wood floors. Somehow my little sister got a hold of it and she was running around with me chasing her. I think she was about two. I was yelling “Give it back give it Back!” Of course she wouldn’t, until my dad yelled at her to give it back to me. So then she throws it over her head, in the kitchen, and the baby’s head breaks into many pieces. My mom and I glued the pieces together but found out there was a big piece missing form the back of her head. My dad had thrown it away. I was so very angry at my sister then. It still kinda makes me mad.

Today we had band practice for graduation. FOr osme obscure reason, we’re playing Stairway to Heaven.
You know the very beginning where a fife plays harmony to the guitar? Well, I’m doing the fife on clarinet. Almost all of us are playing by ear, so we listened to the cd of it to see where the drums come in. Then our trumpet player, Zack, said, and I quote: “Oh, what the heck. Let’s wing it and play air guitar!” So we all went insane and started to play air guitar like crazy and grimace musically, except for the pianist, who played air drums (she also is good at the drums). It was sooooo much fun!

On a happier note, I got selected to be a speaker at promotion! You have to try out and Only 3 kids get picked. Im not sure why I wanted to be a speaker- I dont even like my school. Ok my friend wiseman and i are in the same math class, and it’s right after lunch so we usually go from lunch to math together and hang out in the math room (cuz we’re usually the first people there) so we were in there talking about avenue q, which i’d never heard of but is apparently this funny sesame street parody thing, when this one idiot from our math class comes in and is like “oh you guys were kissing in here weren’t you? It’s ok, i’ll leave” and then he switches off the lights and is like “there, that’ll be better” and leaves. So it was really embarrassing and all but then to top it he comes in when the whole rest of the class is there and is like “wiseman and (my last name) were in here making out earlier” and i was like “what? omg no”
Fortunately everybody knows he’s a liar and nobody believes him. But still.
Although it’s really not believable anyway, because while he’s ok and all, he’s a bit of an idiot and i would never date him, much less kiss him.
Well that’s my Story of Embarrassment for the day. Hope you enjoyed laughing at the stupidity of the Race of Upperclassmen Guys. Yep, they get to be their own species. Grant and any other MB guys that will be upperclassmen in the near future-Don’t be idiots. Plz. It would make me terribly depressed to see you sucuumb. (I’m pretty sure i spleled that rong…)
Oh yah and i totally failed latin test today but that’s ok cuz she’s been handing out extra cred like campaign stickers and so i’ll pretty much get an A+ no matter what i do. Ah, it’s times like this i can forget my animosity towards pautsch…
History was terribly depressing as well actually. We learned about, as featherstone put it, “The worst thing you’ve never heard of”, or the genocide in cambodia after/during? whenever. Anyway, it was bad. I was suprised too-nobody in the class had heard of it. Featherstone said to go ask our parents-he said people knew about it, they just didn’t talk about it. Anyway, they killed almost a third of their population-basically everybody who lived in the city and/or was educated/wasn’t a farmer.
Actually come to think of it, my day should’ve majorly sucked, but it didn’t really. And yet there are days when nothing bad happens and i hate life completely. Odd thing, depression…

SO people like to joke about those a lot, generally because we like to joke about virtually everything

All her life, Heather Uber loved adventure and the outdoors, so when her older daughter joined the Peace Corps and moved to the West African nation of Cameroon in September 2002, Uber eagerly made plans to travel there.
But that visit ended tragically Thursday morning when Uber, a 55-year old mother of four, was killed by a rampaging elephant while visiting a wildlife park with her husband and daughter.
Uber, of Point Breeze, suffered internal injuries when she was knocked down by the elephant, which suddenly charged at the group from a distance of about 40 feet, said Ned Uber.
“Everything happened so fast,” said Uber, who, along with his daughter, Holly, 23, was able to dodge behind a tree. But his wife and another member of the party were knocked to the ground. “Heather ended up getting bumped by the elephant’s tusk in the lower left abdomen. We all tried to run around a tree, but they’re really fast compared to people.”
It took nearly an hour to get Heather Uber out of the park, and then, another two hours by car over nearly 100 miles of bumpy roads to the nearest hospital in the city of Garoua. Uber, who had lost consciousness during the car ride, died only a few minutes after arriving at the hospital.
“At some point, she thought she wasn’t going to make it, so she started telling us to make sure we told [our other children] she loved them,” her husband said. “And she told us not to blame ourselves for making the trip. And she said a lot of other good things.”
The park is one of several in Cameroon dedicated to protecting and preserving the elephant population, Uber said. Clashes between the animals and humans over a shrinking habitat have increased in recent years, resulting in numerous deaths each year there and in other parts of Africa. Safari operators routinely warn tourists that they run a greater risk of being hurt or killed by charging elephants than by lions or rhinoceroses.
Bill Langbauer, director of science and conservation at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, has spent parts of the last 20 years in Africa researching elephants. He said it’s risky to be close to them under any circumstances.
“Even at 150 feet away, we’d get nervous,” Langbauer said.
“They can go as fast as an Olympic sprinter once they get going. And if you’re that close, and you get between a mother and a baby, it’s very dangerous.”
Unlike horses and other “prey” animals that spook easily, elephants don’t usually get startled by sudden movements, he said.
“When they do act spontaneously like that, there are usually calves involved, or a male who is in ‘must’ — when his testosterone [levels] are up — and he goes into a rage.”
Uber, who brought his wife’s body back to Pittsburgh late Saturday, said he didn’t know if the elephant was a female protecting her young or not.
But he said he and his wife were fully aware of myriad risks presented by visiting a poor country like Cameroon, where the back roads were so dangerous that “we got two flat tires in eight hours of driving before finally deciding to switch to a train instead — and even they are known to derail frequently.”
Uber said he and his wife did their best to take precautions throughout their trip, first when traveling to Ngan-Ha, a village of 1,500 people where their daughter was stationed, and later when visiting the park.
“We made the best decisions about what we knew and understood. The stuff we didn’t know about, well, we did the best we could,” Uber said.
News of Uber’s death spread like wildfire over the weekend through the Swedenborgian church community, where she and her husband were lifetime members. She was also a member of the parish council at that denomination’s 90-member Pittsburgh New Church in Point Breeze and taught at the church’s school.
She was a beloved fixture in her neighborhood, “where you could set your clock each morning by when she walked their dog, Rex,” recalled Polly McQueen.
“She was the quintessential mother and wife, 100 percent devoted to her family,” said McQueen.
Mrs. Uber, a sports enthusiast, faithfully attended cross-country meets at Allderdice High School to watch her children compete, she added. Her daughter, Bronwyn, later became a member of the crew team at Brown University, and Edwin plays football at Carnegie Mellon University, where he is studying for an engineering degree.
“She was a quiet person, but once you got to know her, her feelings were right there,” said McQueen. She recalled that after Uber took her younger son, Swain, to a Swedenborgian high school in Philadelphia, “she showed me a poem he had left for her on the seat of her car. There were big tears in her eyes.”
Uber was also an avid supporter of her children’s public schools — first Reizenstein Middle School in Shadyside, where she was an early member of the Parents’ Care group, which provided support for teachers and staff, and later at Allderdice, where she helped start a similar program and eventually became treasurer of the PTO. And she spent much of the past decade overseeing the Rock Ledge Garden Club’s Seeds for Teachers program, which distributed free seeds for classroom projects for more than 200 teachers.
“It would have never survived without her efforts,” said Helen Lee, a fellow gardener, who said Uber had also become an accomplished flower show judge in recent years.
When Holly Uber left for Africa for her stint in the Peace Corps, “Heather missed her,” Ned Uber said. But her reason for journeying to Cameroon went beyond just a maternal yen to see a child.
“It was really about experiencing what your kids are experiencing, what it’s like to live in a village with no electricity or running water. This was going to be an adventure, not a vacation.
“People talk about dying with your boots on, and that’s what happened here,” he said.
Besides her husband and four children, she is survived by her sister, Candace Ziegler, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and her three brothers, Ronald Nelson, of Bryn Athyn, Montgomery County, and Alvin and Perry Nelson, both of Glenview, Ill.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the Pittsburgh New Church in Point Breeze. Funeral Arrangements are by H. Samson Inc.

girl 2 decides that it was girl 3’s fault that the two of them are getting squirted, seizes water gun and squirts girl 3

somehow girl 4 gets involved in this and ends up getting chased and squirted by girl 1. she hides behind girl 5 (me) to try and protect herself from girl 1. what actually ends up happening is that both girls get squirted.

You know, Meg Cabot is actually an outrageously funny writer, but all of her books have far too similar a plot. Here’s how the typical Cabot Plot goes:
Story starts with teenage girl normally near or at the bottom of the social chain. Girl has big crush on guy who barely acknowledges her existence. Girl usually has a weird best friend and some type of creative talent that most other characters could less about but is really very great. Also has super-popular arch nemesis.
Girl bops along like that for awhile until they are made hugely famous by some totally random, out of the blue occurence. For example, finding that she is the sole heir to the throne of a small European principality.
Girl hates their fame, wants to get rid of it, complains about it a lot. Then, they get caught up in one situation or the other involving their newfound celebrity status, and their normal life crashes.
Girl makes everything right just in time for a happy ending, gets the guy, her creative talent is exposed and admired by at least some of her peers.

this is a random thread, so i shall be relatively random.
. i’m reading Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld and it made me want to investigate the boarding school closest to my home. It’s about an hour’s drive south and it’s Emma Willard all-girls’ boarding school. I would love something with higher academic standards, My parents can afford to send me there, and I really need to find out how to take care of myself and acquire a sense of responsibility (i’m an only child and have virtually no chores). Plus, I really want more academic oppotunities class-wise .
What do you think? Should I investigate? What have you heard about boarding schools? Do you know someone who goes to one? Do you go to one? What about the all-girl’s part? Do you think the academic and atmospheric opportunity is worth the money and not living at home?

137: Well, a friend of the family goes to an all girls boarding school. I havent talked to her in years, but from what Ive hear, she loves it. I think it would be cool. 17. More. Days. Of. School.
Today is Israeli Independance Day! Yesterday we had to be depressed because it was Israeli Memorial Day for all the soldies who have died EVER, but today we do color war! This day marks the unofficial end of skool!
I still have to write a term paper, though, and take placements tests for highschool, and take finals. Yurgh.
But this summer, I may learn to be a PILOT!!! My parents and I saw this poster sponsered by the Air Force that teaches kids to fly, and sends them on civil missions on home soil. How awesome would that be? I always wanted to be a pilot, and if I start this summer (if my parents allow me to) I could get my liscence by the time I was a junior!

Hullo. My arm is still sorta sore from my stupid tetanus shot yesterday. It’s not too bad, but yesterday, it didn’t exactly hurt really, but it felt like it was falling asleep, and unlike when your arm is really falling asleep, you can’t move it and make it stop feeling that way. Oh, well.
My AP Calc test was this morning. I had to leave my house at 7. I’d set my alarm clock for 6 am last night, so I’d have an hour to get ready. Somehow, though, it ended up not turned on, or something. When my mom got up at 6:30, she came and woke me up, so I had to take a really quick shower and all that and eat in the car. Oh well, I was ready on time, which is surprising. The annoying thing is, I know I double checked my alarm last night and it was set. I probably turned it off in my sleep…
Anyways, I’m not sure how I did. On the first section of multiple choice, there were 28 problems and you couldn’t use a calculator. I skipped 11 I think… On the next section of multiple choice, there were 17 problems and you could use a calculator. I skipped around five or so…The next section was free resonse. You could use a calculator and had 45 minutes to do three multistep problems. No clue how I did on that, I wrote something down for all of them, dunno if it was necessarily right, though…Then there was another free response section. You couldn’t use a calculator and it was three multistep problems also and the same length… Wrote something down for all of them also. I hope I got at least a 2…I’d be relatively happpy with a 2, I’d hate to get a 1, though, that’s the lowest you can get. Anyway, I don’t really have anything else to say, so g’bye peoples.

Today was fun. I didn’t get any homework in Lang-yays! During physics, Headcase and I did this cool lab. We’re in a unit about sound waves now, so the lab involved messing around with tuning forks. Tuning forks are very interesting.

Creative project due Fri. Oh joy. Why i’m starting it tonight, i honestly don’t know. I felt like a bit of procrastinating, and you can’t do that without having something to procrastinate on i guess…oh well. Point being, here i am.
Really tired too…had killer stomachache this morning, was basically dead until gym, where we played tennis (yay! i like tennis) was slightly more active than usual in that class, and resumed deadness for band. We ate outside cuz middle skoolers were testing, so we couldn’t go in the hallway. Math test, easy, although due to my state of being dead, i stared at the first problem wondering what i did wrong for about ten minutes before i figured out that i had mixed up the points…tried to prove MO parallel to M’N’ instead of MN, of course that was impossible. Anyway. Test in science too, nutt bad. Spent most of the remainder of the day lazing around and arguing with my mom over comp privileges.
Not much else up…oh i got to play 1st part in jazz band because there were a total of 2 trumpets again (did i mention this already? Might’ve) Anyway, billy was sick, i don’t know where peter, mike, and sean were but they were most definitely not present, and david apparantely forgot about it completely. Leaving me and aaron. Joy.
Oh yes and Andy can get his temps tomorrow. We figured since he’ll be driving first, he’ll be our free taxi service. He says no, but he’s quite deluded, poor chap. Nobody can withstand the combined might of my Orps and Weetabixes, Lizzy’s pokes and rambling arguments that always win, and jacob’s puppy dog eyes, and our collective stealing of various personal items. It’s in the bag.

I can’t say for sure that this applies in your case, but guys that age often say terrible, hurtful things they don’t mean. It can happen during moments when, well, I guess you’d call it romantic tension builds up between a boy and a girl he likes and who apparently likes him–particularly if other people are around. The boy, being (like most boys that age) thoroughly geeky and graceless in social situations, can’t handle it, thinks “Yow! Get me out of here!”, panics, and tries to turn the whole thing into a joke. But as he’s thoroughly g&g, it’s a lousy, humiliating joke. He’ll feel bad about it later but will be too embarrassed to apologize and will tough it out instead. Forever. It’s sad.

I had this baby china doll in a little blue bunny costume. It was on my dresser, but I liked it so much that i found a way to get it down. (I was little, about 4). So I was walking around my house carrying my baby. Our living room contects with the kitchen and dining room. Living room has carpet and the other two rooms have wood floors. Somehow my little sister got a hold of it and she was running around with me chasing her. I think she was about two. I was yelling “Give it back give it Back!” Of course she wouldn’t, until my dad yelled at her to give it back to me. So then she throws it over her head, in the kitchen, and the baby’s head breaks into many pieces. My mom and I glued the pieces together but found out there was a big piece missing form the back of her head. My dad had thrown it away. I was so very angry at my sister then. It still kinda makes me mad.

Today we had band practice for graduation. FOr osme obscure reason, we’re playing Stairway to Heaven.
You know the very beginning where a fife plays harmony to the guitar? Well, I’m doing the fife on clarinet. Almost all of us are playing by ear, so we listened to the cd of it to see where the drums come in. Then our trumpet player, Zack, said, and I quote: “Oh, what the heck. Let’s wing it and play air guitar!” So we all went insane and started to play air guitar like crazy and grimace musically, except for the pianist, who played air drums (she also is good at the drums). It was sooooo much fun!
I was in the middle school band, just for graduation.

my brother’s birthday is really cool. he was born in 2000, so when he’s 3 years old it’ll be 2003. When he’s 55 years old, it’ll be 2055. I wish my birthday was like that, because whenever people are talking about something, for example, that happened in 1997, I always have a hard time figuring out how old I was then.

This is the only place I’d be even remotely willing to post about who I like…weird. I wouldn’t even share that with my closest friends, but I would on here… and I’ve never even met any of you peoples. Kina cool, actually.
I haven’t been able to do any painting for weeks!!! And I’m falling behind in bass clarinet and clarinet pracice. And I completely failed this math test (and Im pretty good at math!) because I made a lot of seriously thoughtless mistakes.

On a happier note, I got selected to be a speaker at promotion! You have to try out and Only 3 kids get picked. Im not sure why I wanted to be a speaker- I dont even like my school. I guess I wnated to feel like I had left some type of impression on the school (which I wont have, really, but this way I can feel like it).

Ok my friend wiseman and i are in the same math class, and it’s right after lunch so we usually go from lunch to math together and hang out in the math room (cuz we’re usually the first people there) so we were in there talking about avenue q, which i’d never heard of but is apparently this funny sesame street parody thing, when this one idiot from our math class comes in and is like “oh you guys were kissing in here weren’t you? It’s ok, i’ll leave” and then he switches off the lights and is like “there, that’ll be better” and leaves. So it was really embarrassing and all but then to top it he comes in when the whole rest of the class is there and is like “wiseman and (my last name) were in here making out earlier” and i was like “what? omg no”
Fortunately everybody knows he’s a liar and nobody believes him. But still.
Although it’s really not believable anyway, because while he’s ok and all, he’s a bit of an idiot and i would never date him, much less kiss him.

History was terribly depressing as well actually. We learned about, as featherstone put it, “The worst thing you’ve never heard of”, or the genocide in cambodia after/during? whenever. Anyway, it was bad. I was suprised too-nobody in the class had heard of it. Featherstone said to go ask our parents-he said people knew about it, they just didn’t talk about it. Anyway, they killed almost a third of their population-basically everybody who lived in the city and/or was educated/wasn’t a farmer.
Actually come to think of it, my day should’ve majorly sucked, but it didn’t really. And yet there are days when nothing bad happens and i hate life completely. Odd thing, depression…
