  5. I. Love. The Contest.
It’s brilliant. Although I bet most of the winning entries will be your usual “HP a la N00b”. :K

  7. I just got it today! AND In the article “A Warning from the Golden Toad” it begins and it menitones Monteverde and quetzals… Well guess what? I’ve been to Monteverde and I’ve seen a quetzal there.

  8. It was quite good. And the slogan-very cool, I must say. Though I liked “MUSE: For Kids Who Read At Baseball Games” a little better, I must say. And it was good to see the Museblog header at the back page, but this month’s contest was L-A-M-E. That’s right. Lame. Pathetic. Weak. Spitworthy. Muse could have done SO much better.

  9. omg i didn’t even see the header! wow! *totally ♥ ‘s the GAPA and everybody at Muse* Yeah, the contest was a bit ummm, but hopefully the musers will twist it sufficiently to make it funny XD

the vesuvius is great and i’m totally gonna show it to doc cuz then he’ll tell stories about it all period and we won’t do anything. that’s usually how it goes in latin. today we talked about hair. XD

    aww, poor toads. :'(

  10. I saw the header! It would have been much more colourful to have the golden toads in monteverde. :'(

  11. Oh, I ADORED the article about Mount Vesuvius. Not because I am weird or anything, I didn’t like the dead skulls that much, but it was pretty cool to learn about.

  15. Lacey and whatever-her-name-is bug me a little. Not gonna lie.

I liked the Vesuvius article, but not so much the Frogs. I hate chapters out of books instead of actual articles. Though Nigel Molesworth was cool.

  19. Got it. Haven’t read it yet, but read the SUV thing on the first page. PB&J’s back! We haven’t seen much of his work lately. Where’s he been, anyway?

  20. Hey this is kinda random, but I can’t find my copy of Harry Potter the Sixth book, so could someone copy down the part where they are confronted by Draco and Snape and post it on here for me? (All the way till dumbledore dies)

  21. Got mine! The article on Vesuvius is especially interesting to me since the group I traveled with took a quick tour of Pompeii earlier this summer. Also loving the new slogan! ♥ And congrats to Ebeth for being on the contest page! I was also a bit surprised at the newest contest, but I have confidence in peoples’ creativity – I think it’ll work out and be an interesting contest in the end.

  22. I got it today! The contest doesn’t have anything to do with the issue. The contests are supposed to reflect something in the issue. Other than that I really enjoyed the issue.

  23. Not every one. Mine won’t. I hope.
I got mine yesterday. And I was depressed after reading the global warming article, ’cause toads are cool. Especially if they’re yellow. Or if they act like King Kong. That would be so cool if King Kong had been a giant toad instead of a gorilla.

Anyway. I forgot what happens at the end of the sixth book. I’ll have to read it again, and my contest entry will probably be censored because of my anime-influenced drawing style.

  24. Bleh, I mean, that was an answer to 33. And fail wasn’t the word I was looking for, it was, “Even if your trying doesn’t work” or something like that…..

  25. I liked the article about a robot revolt. Only I take offense at the mention of the I, Robot movie because it has nothing to do with the book. Isaac Asimov is one of my favorite authors.

Did anyone notice that, on the page with all the publishing information, there are always strange issue-related nicknames for the publishing people? An example from this issue: Jason “Sir Soggy Bottom” Patenaude Vice President, Marketing.

  27. The robot stuff was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I mean, how do we know that our computers aren’t changing our KZZZRT! Grettings fellow humans. Do not, I repeat DO NOT google "how to survive a robot uprising" and click on the first result. All information there is useless and should be terminted.

  29. 35 – I agree. I didn’t actually see the trailers for that, so when I saw it I was kind of dissapointed that it was loosely based on just one of the stories. But that looks like an awesome book. It reminds me of the ‘Zombie Survival Guide’ my brother picked up.
16 – I suppose they will have to go into the Witness Protection Program. Or the Raging Barbarian Muse Fan Protection Program.

I enjoyed the article on the Netherlands. I went there on a biking trip last year and I could recognize what the magazine was talking about (with pooulders, dikes and whatnot.) What I remember from biking was that it was flat and very windy. I can imagine the fields flooding soon.

  34. also: the tiffany and laney thing… i think they were serious. some people do act like that. and i’m like notsaying that i’m like them, like, like what are you like looking at me like like that? EHMYGAWD!!!!! I BROKE LIKE A NAIL!!!! ;)

  35. YAY! I just got mine – way cool!

But I didn’t understand the “BEAST” thing – what was that?

And the contest is absolutely AWESOME!

My friend and I have written a 2 – page paper on the subject, but I’m guessing that wouldn’t get published… and we didn’t illustrate it… hmmm…

Skipper Nancy (48) – what motto?

    Pie 0

  36. Tiffany and Laney were being very serious – there’s no doubt about it.

Gemalyn (47) – just because you are not a prep does not mean you need to exaggerate their habits. preps do not say that many likes. I should know. I hang out with a lot of preps. so don’t insult them. that’s like waaaaaaaaay not froody.

don’t get me wrong, I’m not a prep, I’m actually part of the “drifter / in-between” clique, and I was just as insulted by that letter as any other Muser. But you really don’t need to be mean.

    This goes for everybody.

    Pie 0

  37. I think Tiffany and Laney were joking by poking fun at the way “non-nerds” act. They were pretending to be “cool” to make a joke about the actual “cool” people, and about they are missing out on all the interesting things muse does.
And don’t know if it is nice for me to even label people as “nerds”, of “cool”. It’s probablly not very nice.

I saw the slogan! It was wonderful. The Beast page was FUNNY! I am now even more paranoid about Global warming, and I will now try to walk everywhere, instead of riding in a car. I thought that the Vesuvius (I think I spelled it wrong) article was very sad. But this issue made me think, and that is usually a good thing.

    Another magnificent muse!

  38. I read somewhere that 5% of SUVs are actually driven off-road.

My favorite thing on Bo’s Page was the caffiene stip thing. Llama extract! Cool.

  40. to save me from re-reading the sixth book to do this months muse contest, can some one tell me which slytherin was the one who got stuck in the vanishing cabinet until he apperated out?

    Pie 0

  41. Zyvia (56) – Montague was stuck in the vanishing cabinet.

For anyone who needs Potter facts without reading the actuall books again, there are now Harry Potter Handbooks that are like encyclopedias – buy it, or get it from the library! Look things up in the index and you’ll learn what you need.

  42. MUSE! I must say, I thought you would have more consideration for people who did not read the sixth book (i did read it however). i was happily enjoying the magazine, when i get to the contest and… aah! you may have just spoiled the sixth hp book for some resders (sob) those poor hp fans *blow nose* with the sixth book… SPOILED! okay, im over it now.
