  1. I leave a small wooden box with a green ribbon tastefully tied around it under the tree. The box is about four inches long and wide, and two inches tall. An old map of the world is printed on the top, beneath the bow. When shaken, there is no sound, and the box seems to weigh very little.

  2. This present is a small wooden box, ornately engraved with strange symbols. It has a combination lock on it, and makes no sound when shaken.

      1. You picked my gift!
Inside is a beautiful, glowing ball of light. It is a single wish – use it to wish for anything, and you will have it.

  3. This present is very small, with blue wrapping paper. It’s the type of present usually last opened when you’re with family. But it’s also the type of present, despite outward appearances, that is the most marvelous gift ever.

      1. Ok, that’s me. It is…

Your own private little universe, where you’re a god. You can control the little people, make a civilization, or destroy it. It’s like the ultimate Sims game.

  4. My present is oddly shaped, with green wrapping paper and tied loosly with a black and white string. When shaken, it makes a small rattling sound and it is very light.

  5. My present is large, squarish, and neatly wrapped with gold, ornately-patterned paper. It is tied with shiny green ribbon and there is a six-inch bow on top of it.
    *shakes gift up and down*
Hmm, it makes a rustling sound.

By the way, are we supposed to conceal our identities on this thread? Because I did.

  6. I place a fairly large gift that is shaped like a rectangle under the tree. It is light pink and has a large white bow tied neatly on the top. When shaken it makes a soft rustling sound and the faint swishing of water can be identified.

5 – I do believe that we are supposed to be keeping our identities a secret.

      1. Yup, it was mine!

It was: *drumroll please* a bunny! But don’t worry, it’s not a HPB. It’s just a regular bunny (well, that’s what you’re supposed to think. But it’s actually a good bunny that’s supposed to be fighting off the HPBs…you can use it as a defense mechanism!)

          1. Aww I’m glad you like her! (And I do love her in your avatar by the way!)

Psst…Ginger also comes with a cage and a lifetime supply of food. I’ve decided that she’s very easy to take care of. :)

  7. My gift is in a roughly-4x6x12-inch box. It is wrapped in purple, green, and orange-striped wrapping paper. There is a small bow in the upper right-hand corner and scrawled in the middle with sharpie is: “Joyness to whomever recieves this!!!”

(And weird avatar! That should go on my gift, too.)

  8. The gift I warp through trans-dimensional electronic space is a small truncated rhombic dodecahedronal box, with zinnober green wrapping paper and a tangelo orange ribbon.
A tag reads: To the curious muser who opens this…

Some times the box feels light, other times it feels heavy.

It makes no noise when shaken.

It smells like an item that’s in a truncated rhombic dodecahedronal cardboard box.

  9. I am not actually a box. Instead, I am a heavy gift wrapped in festive red and silver paper. I am curved twice, with a long straight end. I am on my side, for fear I might be damaged if I lay so close to the ground.

There is a tag hanging from beneath the large silver velvet bow stuck to my top. It reads, “To the musical Muser, may this gift bring you glad tidings and joy.”

You would do well not to shake me as I am very fragile, however, if you were to shake me, I would make a small note like a muffled chord. It smells like polish and new pencil shavings, with a hint of minty sheen.

  10. This gift is for all of the Musebloggers and GAPAs. It is small, and light, and lies in a far corner, half forgotten; yet it has a presence that bonds us all together, that makes us all feel a true sense of happiness… I give a gift that is not only restricted to Christmastime, that can be found anytime, if only you search for it… I give the gift that cannot be bought or traded for, the gift that only comes from the heart…

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
    1. Okay, it’s New Year’s Eve. I wanna say that I was ~Christmas giver~ and the gift is Friendship (but you probably knew that already). Also I want to ask the GAPAs, can I open a present if I gave this? Because it isn’t really an item, it’s an everyone thing.

  11. I sneak up to the tree, wrapping a scarf around my head so that I appear ninja-like, and deposit a gift before sneaking away. The gift is large, box-like, and wrapped neatly in the Sunday comics page and tied with a glimmering purple-and-green-striped ribbon tied in a bow. When shaken, it makes a sliding, slippery sound. There is a card attached to the outside, with a note written in long, spidery handwriting:
THIS IS AN OLD MUSE ACADEMY TREASURE.
IT IS TIME IT WAS RETURNED TO YOU.
    MERRY CHRISTMAS.

  12. My gift is small, wraped in metalic gold paper with a light blue bow. When one approaches it, one feels slightly cold, and suddenly develops a craving for soft pretzels. But not to worry, my gift is completely begnine and is not, by any means, a door to the underworld.

Anyway, the tag reads in small, neat handwriting “to ye who so choses to explore”

    1. I’d like to take this one, if that’s okay. I’m not sure if I can take one or not, but if I can, then it’ll be this one.

  13. My gift is about the size of a tissue box, but it is round. It is wrapped in faintly iridescent white paper and tied with a golden bow.

If shaken, the box will emit a muffled thump, accompanied by several frantic quiverings.

    The tag reads:
To someone who isn’t afraid of heights.

    Pie 0

  14. I am here, under the tree.
Red paper is wrapped around me.
    A bow.
    Simple.
There is a tag, that reads:
for a person that is tired of waiting

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  15. I’m here, waiting for someone to come and get me. I am for someone who wishes to patch up their heart, to reconcile them with themselves.

  16. My gift is about 2x3x3″ in size. It is carefully wrapped in green and blue speckled paper, with a hint of purple. It is tied with two thin silver and gold ribbons. It would be best not to shake it for fear of damaging what is inside, but if you did you would hear little. Sometimes it is warm and smells of comforting things like cinnamon and, well, Christmas. Somtimes it is cold, heavy, and smells of wind and rain. The simple white tag reads: For the person who searches for Muserliness outside MA

I put my gift with the others, hoping someone will like it.

  17. The gift I deposit under the trees is wrapped in deep red wrapping paper. It’s a small, cubical box, which, when shaken, emits a slight noise. If shaken more aggressively, there would be a tinkling crash and the clatter of shards, as well as a slight moan from me. It smells faintly of vanilla and gingerbread, but doesn’t have a label.

I hope someone will like it. It’s simple, and what it means to you is what you make of it. It certainly can’t give you wings, but if you let it, it can be a comfort and more. Or it could be a useless lump.

      1. It’s a small, clear glass ball which has moving ribbons of color in it, soothing to watch and probably magic, which explains the permanent smell. It’s also always warm. If you hit it at the right angle (gently) it makes a sound a bit like water glasses (and it sometimes does so of its own accord). It’s not really alive, it just cares about its owner.

  18. So is the rule give one, take one, or is it give as many as you like, as long as you take that many? Both were suggested.

    Pie 0

    1. Hm, I’m supposing that it has morphed back into give one, take one, since everyone’s only posting one.

      Pie 0
      Squid 0
      1. Yeah… But would posting two be allowed? If, hypothetically speaking, I wanted to do so?
Also, when do we start opening? The twenty-ninth again? Earlier?

  19. This gift I sneakily set beneath the tree is small, and the box is shaped like a piglet, although what is inside is not. If shaken, a mellow buzzing can be heard, and if shaken harder, a tinkling sound may be heard, but only by those that listen. The tag reads:

Hello to the Muser who dares to open this powerful treasure, and may it help you on your journeys…

    1. ((Oops, sorry. I’m still figuring out how to use this new computer.))
The gift I place beneath the tree is wrapped in a patchwork cloth. It’s 5 by 6 by 2, and the black tag with silver writing says:
I hope you find this gift enjoyable. Happy Holidays!

  20. My gift is a cubical box, about 25 feet on each side. It shakes a lot, and growling noises come from it. There is a tag saying, “To Koko and Chad, in hopes they will cooperate for once.

((Yes, I know they cooperated in AOTSP, but Chad was still working as a double agent.))

  21. This gift is about the size of a large guinea pig. It is almost squishy feeling (it’s not a guinea pig, don’t worry). It will make no noise when shaken. It’s wrapped in green tissue paper. It is a small gift but can bring comfort, especially on chilly days.

    (I like this avatar!)

  22. I am wrapped in blue paper with silver snowflakes, and on top of my is a bit of snow from being outside. I am a box as big as the average Harry Potter book and make a faint rattling noise when shaken. If the lights are turned of a faint, flickering glow can be seen emanating from the folds in the paper. On my bottom is the following code:

    2519034167312583664809124375028164056291847
    QQQQQT

The code is written in small, even letters that seem to flicker like whatever is inside the box.

  23. My gift is about 15x14x15. It has air holes poked in the top, but no sounds can be heard. The present is wrapped in gold and silver wrapping paper, tied with a red curly ribbon. On the top, the card says, “To whomever is here first.”

  24. My gift is wrapped in a wooden box, with carvings on it. It has a silvery latch. It is perhaps 6x4x1”, and makes no sound when you shake it. It is rather heavy for its size.

    1. ((I hit the wrong button by accident. My apologies!))

The gift I leave under the tree is wrapped in paper with a geometric square pattern. The box is aromatic and the contents are fragile.
It weighs two pounds, four ounces.

      A tag says: I’m tasty.

On the flip side: To a muser who likes ( )*.

*font on the tag in the parentheses is written in white.

  25. I wear a silver and pink masquerade mask, with barely noticeable ears, and a mischievous smile dancing across my lips. I quickly drop a present down under the tree and scurry away.

The present itself is in a circular box, pink fur covering the lid. The outside is silver and cool to the touch. No one can tell what it sounds like, for no one dares touch it. A small tag on top reads:
For one who isn’t scared of a little pink, happy holidays.

I smile to myself. Suspicious fools! I sniff the air, and one scent interests me. I follow it to a 10 by 9 by 8 box. I read the tag. I hope they wrote chocolate.

  27. The gift I sneakily lay underneath the tree is about 8x9x12 and is shaped like a large telephone. When shaken, only those who listen hard enough can hear any sound at all. It is wrapped in light brown wrapping paper, and has an orange bow glued smack-dab in the middle. If touched, the gift will release a strong wave of heat.
There is a small yellow tag that reads the words; “To whomever dares to picks me up. Prepare to be surprised.” in small black letters.

  28. My present is a small box wrapped in blue wrapping paper, with some snowmen on it. On the front, there is a bio hazard sticker, and if you turn it around, you see a Radioactive sign. If you shake it, and then put a megaphone up to it, you may be able to hear a small squeak.

      1. I’m sorry, LBK, but I took this gift at 12:35 with post #54.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  31. The gift is small, wrapped in deep blue wrapping paper. Silver snowflakes dance across it on silver wind. It is unadorned, and when picked up, feels rather light. It smells of wrapping paper, and when shaken, there is a very faint chiming sound which you almost think you imagined.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  32. The gift is wrapped in a nondescript paper of a muddy color, but when shaken, a lovely, musical sound comes from inside.
“Meh, I didn’t want it anyway,” I mutter, and inside, there is a tinkling sound–did something break?
The tag reads “RIP L.A.” On the back, there’s a smudged, crossed-out inscription, of which nothing can be read. Or is that….
    “Draw—–D—-n——–worth—–”
    “Couldn———-gif—–Llya—–”
    “—–tell——ies——ha—–“

All in all, it rather reminds one of Eustace’s failed attempts to describe his situation… although it has nothing to do with those books.

Can you guess what I just finished rereading? :D

        1. Nope. I said it didn’t have anything to do with them…. it’s actually a reference to Lloyd Alexander’s Chronicles of Prydain.

  34. The box is large, square, and about 5 inches thick. When shaken, you can hear that the object fills almost all of the box and is the same shape. Shaking it for very long is, however, somewhat difficult due to its weight. The tag says
    “Impossibilities are not always impossible”

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  35. My gift is round, with shiny blue wrapping paper and a green bow. It gives off a powerful aurora of time and space. It sometimes weighs almost nothing, and sometimes you can’t even pick it up. If rattled, a slight squeaking sound can be heard, then something jabbering.

  36. Yay, New Year’s Eve!!! I was, “Gifts Galore!,””An Oddly Shaped Gift,” and “A Really Large Gift,”, and it was an abandonded wung in need of a home, a whistle to save one endangered species from extinction forever, and a small, blue and green dragon, respectively. And I want *Joy to the world, Barney is dead … I shot him in the head!*’s gift, if it’s not already claimed. And the one shaped like a piglet, given by “A gift.” And since I gave three, and get to take three (), I would like Anonymous Gift’s present. :D

      1. I was Stumbler. :)

As the bow is untied, the shimmering box slides open of its own accord. It reveals two nearly-transparent golden sock-like things. At first glance, the socks appear to be quite unextraordinary. However, after a closer examination you may notice that each sock has two small wings attached at the heel. The wings are made of delicate golden wire interwoven with small feathers.
The socks are very excited to see you, and flutter their wings happily.

A small note can be seen beneath the socks. It reads:
        These are not socks.
They are made to be slipped on over your shoes, and will merge into them invisibly. (aside from the wings)
If you wish to, you may use them to fly.
        Enjoy your gift.

P.S. When you want to take the wing socks off, pull twice at the base of the wings.

  52. 29.1- Ah, that present? ‘Twas mine. I now describe it…

Inside, there is a book. A simple book, with a plain cover. The book contains any story you want it to, at any time. It always remains the same size, however, so it is convenient to cary around.

    I think… Right, I can’t resist the dragon, (A Really Large Gift), and… (Yes, I gave two) Holiday Cheer-In-A-Box. Number 9.

  53. 40.1- Ah, good choice. Very good choice. I gave that. It took me a long time to find, but when I did, I knew it was the perfect choice.
Unwrapped, it is revealed to be a glass bottle, carefully wrapped in a assortment of packing materials, as if it broke, it would be terrible. Inside the bottle, softly glowing lights move slowly about. Close inspection reveals that they are miniscule figures, fairies, in fact. Becoming tired of pollution, they retired to this bottle. They brighten when you want light, and they can also heat up if you are cold. The number of fairies changes sometimes, as if they are coming in and going out…

    I hope you enjoy!

    1. Yes, Keiffer, you may take “gift: small and green” that I left.

The gift you chose is a dark silver digital watch that turns the wearer invisible and weightless (which could be helpful if the wearer is infiltrating nonexistent semievil headquarters, such as the HPB’s  (such headquarters usually have traps such as: laser beams, motion sensors, pressure sensors, moats*…)).
Features this tangibly virtual watch has:
      A nonexistent warranty,
Hot pink bunny shaped “function” buttons (which set the time, changes the screen display, etc.),
An oval red “action” button at the top,
and water resistivity up to 300+ m.

To activate weightless invisibility, tap the watch face, and hit the red “action” button.

      I hope you enjoy.

*watch does not help against any moats filled with piranha, sharks or gators.

      1. Wow! That’s awesome, thanks! Completely the best present I’ve ever gotten.
*activates weightless invisibility* “Hey look, piranha!”
(And I’m not primitive Pseudonym, wherever you are!)

  55. Sorry LBK, this is really late, but I just remembered that I was “A Gift”, so:
This gift is a robotic was that is about as big as your hand. It will become great friends with you, and sting whomever you want it to. It likes to nibble on your toes when you sleep.

How strange, both my gifts are robotic. yay.
