I LUVS DA SNOWWWWW!! One year, we made a froody suveet huge snowman that didn’t exactly work, but oh well. I have lots of stories about snow, but they aren’t very interesting, so I’ll spare you.
we don’t get snow here.

Taiwan Hippo Fan (my sister) and I make snowmen in the winter all the time! And froody igloos when we get a lot of snow! YAY!
We hardly ever get snow, but last year we got about half a foot. I got up one January morning and since the shades were down on my bedroom window, I didn’t know about the snow until I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and thought “What is that white stuff on the tree branches?”

A suggestion, GAPAs – a picture of snow? I could probaby send one…but since some people haven’t seen it, and it’ll kind of fit in anyway, is there a possibility of that happening?

Last time we had a decent snow, I used the shovelings from the driveway to build four-foot tall snow cats as sentries beside the street. They looked especially cool sparklng in the moonlight. Probably freaked out more than one passerby. An efficient way to clear the driveway, too.
We usually get lotsa snow, but last year we got two feet in November, and about three two-inch dustings throughout the rest of winter.
This is a wierd thread. Anyway, the most snow I’ve ever gotten at my house was about four inches. I have only had one snow day in my life
I like snow the first day. Then it gets all sludgy and nasty and it makes me sad.
We get “Nor’easters” pretty much every winter, resulting in sometimes entire weeks of “snow days.”

We usually get snow, but not until January or February; rather unusual for a coastal city. About 6 inches tops, I would say. It varies throughout the area.

I love tubing in the snow down the big hill at my grandparent’s house in Traverse City. It rox my sox (and soaks them through too)

Once, it snowed on my birthday. It was soooo cool. It only lasted about half an hour, and it all melted as soon as it touched the ground, but still. It was pretty exciting.
It was really funny actually. All the tall cacti’s arms were covered with snow and it was rather ironic looking.
I probably don’t get snow here, but I’m not sure. I just moved here to reno this summer.

after someone messes it up it loses all its wonder. The only reason I go out in the snow is to feel soooo much warmer when I come back in. (my dad keeps the house at 65 year round. He’s crazy.) We get a lot here. Once, we had so many snow days it was declared a state of emergency and we didn’t have to make up the school we missed. That was the best winter EVER!

I get sorta tired of snow after a certain amount of time, then I like it again, and then I start thinking, ONLY 12 MILLION MONTHS UNTIL THE SNOW IS SUPPOSED TO LEAVE!!! and then I either keep counting down and stuff or like it again.

I have NEVER had a snow day, but once I didn’t go to school because it snowed a foot. It was cool, because when I shoveled my neighbor’s driveway, she invited me in, gave me hot cocoa, and then I got to play with her few-weeks-old baby. YAYS!
no snow yet. i want more then one good storm this year- i.e. more then two feet.
admittadly, one foot usually gets a snow day., but it isn’t as much fun. i also hope its packing snow. powdery snow is pretty, but you can’t make sculptures out of it.
32 – There are three kinds of snow: Powdery snow (the bad stuff,) Packing snow (good for making stuff out of,) and slick snow. Everything starts powdery and then gets denser to become packing snow (sometimes it’s never powdery – it starts at packing,) and occasionally it’ll get slick and icy to become perfect rumpbumping/bellywhopping/sledding snow.
We haven’t gotten snow yet, but it’s been getting colder. It snowed a little bit on our 3-day field trip, though.

I LOVE snow! It’s so fun because every year I try to make interesting snowmen. I mostly just try to mimick Calvins snowmen in “Calvin and Hobbes”. He makes very interesting ones. I made the one with the shark and the giant snowman eating little snowmen to name a few. It’s really fun! I also make snow birds, snow dogs, snow cats, snow horses, snow cowboys rounding up snow horses, and snow familys. Maybe this year I could try snow penguins.
36- wow. I would never have the patience to make all those things. Especially when its so cold.

For any one who doesn’t know how to do the snow dance, you spin around in circles slowly, chanting “snow, snow, snow.” Then you spin faster and faster until you fall down onto the nearest couch/chair ect. The faster you spin, the faster you chant. Then you spin the other way. Don’t forget to chant “snow”!! It’s the most important part!
The dance brings snow! Really! Sometimes…

Wow, that all sounds like lots of fun. I wish I lived somewhere where it snowed. It usually snows in the mountains just north of here, but that’s been happening less and less. Yay for global warming. Sometime we go up ski resorts or the Grand Canyon for rodeo break, but other than that, I don’t ever get to see the snow. *is deprived*

The snow looked absolutely dazzling. I rushed outside(after getting boots and gloves on, of course) and began throwing snowballs at my dad. The climax of the day came when I built a two-headed snowman.

Our first frost was a couple days ago. When I went trick-or treating, I stopped sinking into the ground with my high heels at around 7:00 because it had frozen solid. I was wearing short sleeves. I nearly died.

I don’t really like the snow …*shovel, shovel*…it’s not really good for anything. I think my favorite season is Spring, because there’s not really much you have to do. In Summer you mow the lawn. In Fall, you rake the leaves. In Winter, you shovel the snow. But in Spring, there’s not really all that much to do, ‘cept for weeding, and that’s not that bad.
(The snow’s not actually to the point where I have to shovel it, yet, but it’s coming…*shiver*….)

I hate snow!!! It just started snowing here today, the yard was white one minute and white literally 5 minutes later. It is the first snow of the year. I was carying feed to my cows and I slipped down the hill, hurt my leg, and spilled the feed

I ♥ snow and Calvin and Hobbes. It snowed once already but it melted as it fell. It rained today. The only context in which I like rain is when it keeps my gym class inside, only this year gym is standing around outside talking with friends and I want to go outside. I dig holes through the snowbanks that the plow leaves. Once I made it through, but then it collapsed and I was sad.

I’ve been skiing since I was a pre-muser. And since I’ve been one ever since I was 5, (a Muser, that is- my sister got a gift subscription, didn’t read them, and I stole them, read them and usurped her subscription) that has been a long time. I ♥ skiing!
I love where I live. All the seasons are pretty and the climate is really varied from season to season, and we have lots of forests so we get very diverse animal life. Sometimes when it snows, the deer come right into our backyard.
i have hated snow since october.
I like snow. And I’ve always wished that I had enough good, wet snow to make a Calvin-style snowman. Actually, I probably do have enough snow for most of the winter. Now my problem is time. Since my high school schedule sometimes requires me to attend for more than twelve hours a day, I’ll probably have to wait until a winter vacation to do some extreme snowmanmaking. Luckily, I have very long vacations.
Back in the days of elementary school (when I was immune to the cold like all other small children) I loved to stay out all day with my brother and make snow caves. I’d make a big pile of snow, usually starting with what the plow pushed up, and hollow out a cavey hole to hide in. Sometimes we made tunnels. Snowballs, too. Like Calvin, I wished that I had more enemies.
Funny…I enjoyed the process far more than the product. I got bored just sitting in a hole.

We had a snow day on November seventeenth last year – Earliest snow day I can remember. Maybe we can beat that this year…*Crosses fingers*
One time my mom and I made a snowman that threw snowballs!
It was really cool, we rigged it with a trip line and sat it up so it’d hit people.

I want to try to build a giant penguin! penguins are my passion. I have a convenient little hill in the backyard that is perfect for tobogganing down. it snows a lot around here, but I wish i lived in Minnesota, where it snows a ton. I love snow!!!!!!! last year on December 9 it was snowing in the mornin but the principal didn’t cancel school. we went to school, and in the middle of the day, it turned into a gigantic blizzard! we were almost stuck at school. My mom came to pick me up early, and the 20-minute drive took us an hour and a half! Of course, the snow stopped as soon as we got home.

the coldest it gets is like 60? or something, so fall feels like winter……..but snow is cool and snow days sound awsome!!!!!!!!! and some o’ the calvin & hobbes snow cartoons must be the funniset eeeeeevvvvvvveeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

60 Digging holes through snowbanks is great fun. Once my sister and I made two in one day, then they froze in the freezing rain overnight. They were so sturdy we could walk over them like a bridge, and they were icy inside. We could run from across the yard and dive through them.
Has anyone gone downhill/cross country skiing? If so, is it hard? And which is more fun, downhill or cross country? I’ve never gone skiing, but I want to this winter.

I LOVE SNOW!!!!!!! although… someone *ahem* should stop lying about how much snow we get. We get a good amount of snow in the mountains… but in the city it just rains… and rains adn rains and keeps on doing it until summer, when it’s verrrrry, verrrrrrry hot and dry. And then in september it rains again. recently, we had a lot of flooding… majorly uncouth…but in a place that rains so much, It was bound to happen… guess where I live (sarcastic/rhetoric)

85-I’ve done both. I prefer cross-country, but that might just be because i’ve done it more often (and have my own skis, which are absolutely useless here grrrr). But downhill’s a lot of fun too. It’s harder in some ways, but i think overall it’s easier. It’s harder to go fast cross country. Plus you don’t have to go up hills in downhill. Hence, “downhill”.
