Glad to hear it! It was inspired by a conversation that started back in February on the Skool thread and then continued on “Rebuilding Civilization.” We couldn’t build a school, but Rebecca and I decided that something ought to exist.

Here’s how it works: Assuming “Musery Loves Company” gets up and running, any payments from customers will go directly to CafePress, the company that hosts the Web site and prints and ships all the products. CafePress also charges rent for the online storefront, so we’ll add a little to the price of the products to cover that. If my calculations are correct, there won’t be any profits.
Of course, my calculations could be wrong. Maybe hot-pink bunnies will turn out to be the next “Hello Kitty.” But we’re not counting on that.

13-I have to agree with you on this one. Muse has dissapointed me lately. The T-Shirts of Urania and Koko were fine, they’re in true Muser spirit. I think the Attack of the Smart Pies was okay, but it made the world of the characters too broad. They belong in the margins, not Kokonino County or whatever. Now this is sort of annoying. They’re awesome and all, but I don’t want my favorite magazine going all merchandisey.
But I must admit, the Mostly Harmless and Hot Pink Bunny stuff is cool. ^^ Hmmm…perhaps I will add them to my Christmas list?
I want a lot of that stuff, especially the magnets to put in my locker. What’s next? When can you actually order this stuff? How have you created this amazing franchise? Can you advertise it in Muse? It’s unofficial, unlike the Koko and Uraina t-shirts advertised, right?

I should explain that this isn’t something that Muse asked Rebecca and me to do; it’s something we’re asking the magazine to let us do. If the idea is approved, then it will be official and could well be advertised in the magazine. Before we went any further with it, though, we wanted to bounce it off some readers to see what they thought.
That’s where MBers come in. If most of you agree that it’s a Really Bad Idea, then we’ll scrap it. If most think that it looks like fun, then we’ll go ahead. If everyone disagrees, as seems typical on the blog, well, we’ll just have to muddle through as usual.

I think it’s great and should be up before christmas. Because honestly, this is christmasy stuff. Or holiday stuff at least. Birthdays, etc. Special occasions.
And i think it is very much in the spirit of musery. Just expensive enough to cover the cost of making it. It’s really for us musers, not for the company. And i think that’s uber-kewl.

I love it! Ok, now I definitly have something to add to my wish list! But the truth is, I would hate to see non musers wearing it. Sorry, but what if muse clothes really take off (whenever I wear my koko or urania shirts people always try to read them. I have never seen anybody do this to anyone wearing anything else) and then everyone starts reading muse? It would be a total catastrophe! Its extremely unlikely, considering that the clothes will not be sold in stores. Whatever, Please don’t stop selling them till after the holidays! The clothes are seriously awesome.
Wait, sorry, that sounds wrong. I want more people to read muse, but only if they are really musers on the inside. What if we had more tiffanys and laneys? And muse had to start bowing down to their requests?

25-i doubt it’ll become uber-popular like that. for one thing, it’s a little teeny online store. who buys stuff online? like seriously, i think i’ve seen one person wearing a homestar runner shirt, and that’s pretty much all i’ve seen. i know people do buy stuff like that, but rarely and usually only if they think it’s actually worth it. which they won’t if they don’t understand it. As for the mag, well, not to sound mean or anything but it’s for intelligent people, which won’t make it popular. That’s the sad truth. With all due respect to the general population, most of them aren’t really interested in museish stuff. Sounds unbelievable, i know. I can’t imagine not being interested in muse. But such people exist, and in large portions.
I, however, will be hopefully getting a pwt pwns hoodie and possibly a muse academy or mostly harmless t-shirt or bag. *fingers crossed* XD

Wow, that’s awesome. I do have a few suggestions:
Make the Muser Academy stuff a color that you can really see. I like the red, but the only thing I can see the outlines of is Koko.
Make a 1000000000 pack of Koko for prez buttons. Or at least a 1000 pack. People don’t want to waste their time asking people for 10 or 100 or 1000 100 packs! (j/k. But it would be nice…)
Make a Koko that looks like Uncle Sam, with his flute pointing out or something, and make him say, “The Kokonspiracy wants YOU” with the Mostly Harmless thing behind it. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

I have a question…what is the difference between a “value t-shirt” and a regular t-shirt? It’s cheaper..but is there any other difference?

Love to, but for now we’re stuck with the products that CafePress offers, which don’t include notebooks, binders, book covers, or other school supplies. Of course, you can buy (or make) a sticker and slap it on anything you like, but it’s not the same.

yes, they do offer notebooks. They’re called journals (on the store thing). I created a store solely for the purpose of finding out if they had notebooks. And they do! They also have black shirts, but I assume the design would be hard to see on that kind of shirt. They also have funny things, like aprons, bibs, dog shirts, liscense plate covers, “and more!”
