Life, the universe, pies, hot-pink bunnies, world domination, and everything
at least i dont try to ve geeky. I just am smart and like Japanese comic books.
I’m a geek-of-all-trades. I’m a math geek, a drama geek, a music geek, and a computer geek. And that, my friends, is why I am not a populargirl.
haha…me two, except i like american comics like Archie. it’s not that geeky.
i’m more of a math geek…and science. i luuvv science.
are you kidding me?!?!?!? Archi is THE geekiest of all american comics. I like stuff like .Hack, Naruto, etc. anyway I am a GEEK! i have a library card, i speak german, i can hack mozilla firefox, and i read japanese comics! off to do math hw! check out the math & math geek page to see what it is!
Auf Weidersehen! (good bye)
I think the term geek is for comperter nerds. I am a nerd and not a geek!
geek and nerd are very different things. Nerds are smart and know a lot of useful things, geeks pretend to be and know a lot of useless things that make them look smart.
I’m a geek Geek pride!!!
I’m a geek. I speak Michif, for zark’s sake, and I also say things like “for zark’s sake.” I even order stuff from ThinkGeek. I read Megatokyo, the Whatever, Onezumi, AND I do NaNoWriMo. Plus, I am also a nerd, part of SPASM (Society for the Prevention of Asinine Student Movements). I know things like how to make a calculator into a metal detector. In 30 seconds. While listening to Public Image Ltd.
Sometimes, I scare myself.
3- too. me _too_. As in “also”.
3- Haha- LOVE archie.
I am not a math geek, but a geek of everything else, from learning about animals, to drama. Basically a geek-of-all-trades as Kiki said, acceptions to math.
Rock on, Queenie J!
has anyone enterd this month’s muse contest, how to be cool?
I’m a geek/nerd type person. I’m a theatre geek, a math geek, a “nose-in-a-book” type person, I enjoy learning, I do NaNoWriMo, insist on going to a geek camp this summer (I’m taking a creative writing class!, the same one I took last year) I speak Spanish, French and English.
(5) Where are you in the Naruto manga? Post-time skip…?
(6) DENIAL! DENIAL I SAY! XDD
I’m one of those jerks that makes shoddy websites with non-verfied CSS and HTML. Refuse to learn php.
All I do is save pictures of beautiful, beautiful Japanese male singers. Um, 742 at last count. I love myself. Until the day my computer crashes because of too many large image scans. Cry.
the words ‘nerd’ and ‘geek’ seem to have different connotations to different people. To me, geek is a negative term. Nerd is synonymous with geek when used by certain unnerdy people who think nerdiness/geekiness is bad, but when used among people like us, it means someone who is smart and doesn’t think that’s a bad thing, but nerds are also usually nice people. I am proud to be a nerd, but I don’t think I’m much of a geek.
Anyway, I’m mainly a word nerd. I like reading and writing and, most of all, spelling. my school spelling bee is tomorrow, but I’m not too worried because i know it’s all going to come out of a booklet called the Spell-It! and I know all 701 words in Spell-It! after the school bee I’m going to the regional, which i got second place in last year. If i win that, I get to go to the national. Yipeee! I’m not sure if i’ll get there though. I hope so.
I like most other subjects too, but not as much as words. I’m not bad at math, though i don’t think I’m much of a math nerd and I don’t want to be one. We already have one of those in the family and i dont think we need another.
I’m a geek. ‘Nuff said.
J/k…I’m more proficient in computers than my mom and my little brother, know more about cell phones than my dad, and read comics.
5-is not!*pouts*
8- lolol.
go bears! (at least i’m not a sports geek, right?)
I am probably the geekiest/nerdiest (I neither know nor care about the difference) person in my school. I’m not popular, nor am I hated. (That I know of, anyway.) I’m a science nerd, grammar nazi, spelling geek, orch dork (I invented that term myself, although it’s so ingenious that I think someone else must’ve come up with it first), band geek, math geek, drama nerd…the list goes on.
I’m probably more of a nerd than a geek. Well, both. I’m not sure. I’m the kid who does all her work and gets straight-a’s and has no social life outside of school except on the internet and would rather stay home and read than go to a party or something along those lines.
Yay!
733t 5p34k r0x!
DnD, WoW, you name it, I’m a huge web geek. Geek means antisocial. A nerd is a smart geek.
And I can program in Python and I’m learning Java scrip.
“MuseBlog: giving a new meaning to the word ‘normal.'” (Also to the words “mostly harmless.”)
how is anyone at the time-skip yet! i could only find up to twelve published! please tell me who and where you get them from!
axa? I WANT TO KNOW WHERE TO GET MORE NARUTO!!! i hate the tv show, they edit out most of the bloodshed, naruto on the toilet, and the scenes INSIDE the womens’ bath house (teehee! im a toad sage or a Ebisu, i guess)
(24) Kukukukuku, come closer my child… >D
I’ve read the manga auntil about 330…of crouse I skipped a lot because i was so behind, and I had the basic gist of it. -cough- BUT. ALL of the manga is available at NarutoFan for download, though you need to register. I got so bored of it recently though, it was just Naruto training, Shikamaru angsting blah blah blah. Need to read it for the Akatsuki thoug. Oh Hidan. ♥
The Viz manga sucks. Don’t read it anymore than you have to.
I actually thought the dub was worlds better than I thought it would be (I half expected another One Piece ). But I can see why you’d silike it for cutting the violence etc. I’m going to be having a field day once they get to the Itachi bits because that crap is whack. And that’s why we love it.
And I’ve bought the manga untranslated at Kinokuniya, but I don’t know if you have one near you…specialty shops and Japanese stores will have it. I can only read like 1/19859354 of it but it was still owrth it.
Oh lord excuse my spelling, I’m not at my normal computer and it’s messing with me. I’m a perfectionist okay. That’s geekish, right? D:
21 ~ My dad does all that stuff. He was going to teach me Java script but I think I’m hopeless. He does all these poll analysis things with Python, I think.
18-spelling geek? do you do spelling bees?
i spent the day playing some tactics game name of which i forget w/dan and bill and going to the weather forecast on his wii, which is like google earth except a lot cooler and even more fun to spin than webpages. And chipotle. yum. Chipotle’s not geeky though. it just Is.
Pater’s been taking away comp privelages left and right these days, so i won’t be on tomorrow. I really need to work on my nod, smile, ignore tactics. i never seem to get the not talking part of it. or the smiling. or even the nodding. jeeshers.
Found my calky! ’twas hiding under my bed. YOU CAN RUN, BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE! MWAHAHA!!! But omgz, andy lent me his brother’s old one because he didn’t want me stealing his cuz phil’s in my math and last time he took it and deleted everything by accident (he was just trying to put a password on but he messed something up) but then he ended up having to use mark’s too (mark’s his brother) cuz he left his at home. Smart. Anyhoo, it’s so sad! it’s like mutilated! there’s this huge crack in the screen and if you leave it on too long the whole screen just goes black. But it had pacman! i only got to like level 4 (for obvious reasons…the thing was freaking defiled…meeeeh) but i gave it to leeny, phil, and lucy so they can give it to me now that i’ve found mine. Wheeee!
I colored a waterbottle orange. i don’t know how that’s geeky exactly, but it’s certainly weird.
oh, want to know what’s geeky? i have a plushie black beasts of aaaargh. When you pull the string in its mouth, it goes “aaaargh” It’s pretty sweet. i think riet gave me that one.
My opinion is that everyone has some geek/nerd parts of them, just some more then others.
double postage stamp! OH NOEZ! but i’m really bored and don’t want to start history noting. even though i have to b/c i have to do it before bill goes to bed so we can trade off half+half, and she goes to bed at like 10 (crazy lady…). ho hum. mebbe i’ll go watch the commercials on youtube or something. is the superbowl even over yet? ho hums some more.
so what else have i done that’s geeky lately…well there’s KoL and isketch and stuff of course. Been playing solitare a lot. i’m sort of getting back into card games. kind of fell off them for a while. i taught jacobus how to play kings on the corners. And nibbles too. I need to get people to play schmere with me. i swear i’m having withdrawals. Like about a week ago, i started playing open-handed with myself. Yep. Sad.
28 ~ Yeah. I’m not too great though.
I’m probably both, but more geek than nerd. I ♥ math (I’m like the only person in my school with this math obsession, we were talking about it in science because we sit in the last two rows and were supposed to be making this easy graph thing but were all done, and I was being serious, and like math is cool+fun+good+I love it and all the other math people were saying no it doesn’t/isn’t and Brian especially was mocking me, but back on topic…), I’m also like the only person in school who does competitive science fair anymore, I’m slightly a music geek (actually more like nerd, and Brian’s way more so than I am, if he mocks me I’ll retaliate), but I’m in brass ensemble and jazz band and normal band of course and I was in all-county band and I’m doing a NYSSMA solo (only level 3, I started later than like everyone at a low level and got an “outstanding”, I think the top level’s called) and I’m in select chorus. And lego league probably counts as science or math. Absolutely no physical sport interest. I liked the musical, but this year they’re doing a play instead, our town, and it’s depressing and I’d have to quit everything to be in it, so I can’t expose my inner drama geek. That’s why I’m on MuseBlog at odd hours of the night- that’s when I have time. Sleep is for the weak. (my all-time favorite West Wing quote, probably, or at least I use it the most) Oh, and there aren’t school spelling bees so I can’t use my mad spelling skillz to win them, but in third grade at the last tie spelling bees were held, i used to be good with easy words like “triangle”. Third grade just didn’t challenge me. I tied Allison as the fastest one to memorize their multiplication tables to ten, in the fastest time possible, one test a week. Most of elementary school was easy.
haha…you want geeky…i’m watching all the superbowl commercials on youtube. heck yes.
AND DID I MENTION I HAVE NO SKEWL TOMORROW!11!!!!11!!!eleventy-one!!!!
Book geek, theatre geek, and slight computer geek. NOT a math geek. That is my horriblest subject ever. That and Religion.
I still have no idea whether I’m a geek or a nerd and I intend to continue using the words interchangeably.
29 ~ I got Sarah the evil killer rabbit plush and Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch plush for Christmas and her birthday. xD
33 ~ You and I have so much in common. o.o You watched the West Wing? I adored that show. We have the first three seasons on DVD.
26-28 is the top level, and yes, it’s called outstanding.
I’m jealous of your MBing-at-odd-hours-of-the-nightness because that’s often when I have time, too, but my parents make me turn the computer off at nine.
And I don’t know how many elementary school grades I could’ve skipped if they’d let me. I think I’ll homeschool my kids someday.
I learn random facts and memorize how to spell really long words. It makes people think you’re uber smart
I also read the dictionary because I want to get really good at scrabble!
I’ve been meaning to memorize the spelling of pneumonoÂultraÂmicroÂscopicÂsilicoÂvolcanoÂconiosis, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Firefox won’t let me add it to the spell checker dictionary thing, either.
We had a good discussion of that word on the “Words & Names” thread last April:
https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=263
39 ~ Ooooh! Can we have a new Words and Names thread, pretty please?
Ah, so you’re a word geek as well? Done!
I am a geek. I correct peoples’ grammar and punctuation, can do math in my head, I am a drama geek, computer geek, a debate geek, band geek, and probably whatever other type of geek you can think of.
Whoa. I just realised how many times I used the word geek.
well, it is the geek thread XD
words are spiffy.
band geeks pwn. totally.
i don’t consider myself a comp geek. i hang out with nuts like andy and danny and my cousin michael. i suppose to slightly saner people i might be a slight comp geek, but not really
I always thought of the words nerd and geek as being interchangable until lately. It seems that the words nerd and geek have aquired more specific meanings in recent years, whereas several years ago ‘geek’ might have just been used as a general insult rather than to mean a specific kind of looked-down-upon person. There is no credible source to back my opinions, but i think of a nerd as someone who is socially inept, not concerned with his/her appearence and as an unusually strong interest in things that are not very popular with most people. For instance, a trekkie would be a specific kind of nerd. I think of a geek as a nerd who has put his/her skils and qualities to practical use. A math nerd would get good grades in math and a computer nerd might be able to get a job working with computers. So a nerd could evolve into a geek. As for myself, i’m probably a little of both. I get good grades, but other than that i don’t have any peculiar interests that will ever do me any good. But that’s no reason to stop being nerdy.
45-i’d have to disagree. trekkies are geeks. speaking klingon, while amusing, isn’t that relevant to the so-called “real world” Geeks live in their own little fantasy worlds. Nerds are just smart. And geeks are so much more interesting. XD
Nerds can be rather popular though. Or at least accepted. Even the popular kids like to get decent grades once in a while. And they trust nerds to give them the right answers, because their friends, while popular and cool and all that, aren’t usually any smarter than they are.
Geeks aren’t popular or accepted (except by kewl people XD). Not useful enough.
I’m definitely a geek. Actually, I usually say nerd, instead of geek. I don’t know why, but anyhow.
I’m definitely a musik / drama nerd. And I’m also a science nerd…In other words, I have two very different areas of interest. And…I have no idea which area to plan my career in. :S
But I do have a “life.” At least I think I do. Dunno if that breaks any geek/nerd rules or not…
Nerd…geek…I probably qualify as both. I always thought that nerds were generally smart people, and geekdom had to do with specialized hobbies or interests.
That being said, I am a chem geek, physics geek, lit geek, and art geek. Oh, and a bit of a Trekkie, but I’m not really on the Klingon-speaking level. Trying to cut back on that show… Oh, who am I kidding? I love Data.
That never leaves the blog.
I do not have a life, and my acquaintances and family joke about it oftenly. I was grounded yesterday and made duct tape wallets. From hot pink duct tape. It’s my new favourite thing ever.
48 ~ I’ve always wanted to make something out of duct tape but I don’t have any non-silver tape so it’d be boring.
I am a geek-of-all-trades. This means that I am geeky in almost all areas of geekiness.
38-Macro? “The very act of pulling down the macros menu causes lights to dim all over North London.”
48-I once made a complete balsa wood model of the starship Enterprise. I think I have pictures somewhere…
I do lots of guy stuff. Building models, shooting off little cannons, bottle rockets, robots, things like that. Horatio Hornblower.
Wait. I really do macho, nerd GUY stuff. Man.
I don’t think I really qualify as a band geek, despite my involvement for the past three years. I have last chair and never practise. I do not treasure my French horn; in fact, I have a smashed one hanging on my wall.
I do consider myself a grammer nerd, however. I do so enjoy correcting people on grammer. I also like pointing out logical fallacies. We studied them extensively in my English class.
If I did rocketry more often (weather/finances permitting), I would definately be a rocketry geek.
I’m good at math, but I’m not a nerd about it.
That’s as far as my nerd-dom goes. But I am bright.
However, I am a geek about Crawlspace Eviction. For instance, the fact that one of them left me a happy birthday message on MySpace *shudder* has given my life meaning. I am not kidding. I have a shrine of them above my bed. I go to every single show I can manage and hang around afterwards, waiting for hugs or a conversation. And if any of them ever find this post, I will no longer have a life to have meaning.
Or is “groupie” a better word for the above? Their photographer seems to think so.
Lady Visala of Reverie: Official Member of the Crawlspace Crew, Ist Class; Certified Crawlspace Eviction Groupie and Geek.
Better?
51-hornblower rocks. ♥ pellew!

♥♥♥
I think that the the most part of the 2nd defintion is the best overall.
I think that when people call people geeks and nerds, it’s kind of weird in and of it’s self. Like, there are definitions and stuff(hehe, see above) but calling someone or yourself a geek/nerd is still labeling even if you take pride in it.
but I still love being kind of quirky/smart/bookish!!!!
i just don’t like calling it geekishness/nerdiness
because just because I’m smart, I’m still a tiny bit girly, and like clothes and stuff. just not makeup and boys and stuff like that like some.
where’d you get those?
haha, i bite chikens’ heads off!
axa, thanx. I only have up to 12, but thats in books.
line from my science report. no seriously.
An element would be something such as Einsteinium, Californium, Thorium, and Ytterbium (can you believe the names of some of these elements? I mean seriously!).
if there’s a cheesium, that would be amazingful
60-I now wierder ones. How about gold?? Who in the entire world will call a element gold?? I mean talk about wierd ness….
I am defienetly a math geek. I’m going to state for mathcounts!! yeah!!!
Im a eanglsh neard. abslutoley positievley sre.
I seem to have my perceived definitions of nerd and geek backwards from most people.
60-Ever heard Tom Lehrer sing ‘The Elements’?
I’m sort of a nerd, but I also like clothes and stuff, I know the words to ‘Can’t Touch This’ and I can also do things like dance. And talk to other non-geeks. But I really like ‘Lost In Space,’ and P.G. Wodehouse, and stuff like that.
I have identity ish now. Great.
48: Oh, sweet! I used to have a neon purple duct tape wallet…but it fell apart.
Sometimes the drama nerds (myself included) go hang out in the auditorium during skool – We usually end up standing onstage and screaming about one thing or another, LOL. I’ve hung out there twice – And both times, we got chewed out by one of the principals. Haha, it’s like they have nothing better to do than yell at kids who are having fun (…and not even destroying skool property in the process!).
36-My mom has all seven seasons on DVD, and I’ve started buying the first two seasons off iTunes. They don’t have 3-7, unfortunately. My favorite episodes include The Stackhouse Filibuster, Shibboleth, 20 Hours in America, and The Cracpots And These Women (big block of cheese day!!!). Sorkin-written seasons (first 4) are better. Scarily in common. Someday I should just invite you and Penguini and Potato Chip over for a mini-kokonvention. Busy in late July? (the first time I’m free)
48-ish- I have dark blue and silver duct tape.I want to make a dress, or at least a bag, but I need time and instructions.
51- Salmon of Doubt!!! In mathcounts today I was so tempted to get a problem wrong by making 6×9=42 in part of a factorial.
62- Which state? NY, or rest-of-the-US?
65- MuseBlog is the only place where my peers recognize Tom Lehrer. Except Lisa, who I burned a CD for, and who finds joy in accidentally mixing up the order of numbers in New Math. You can’t take 2 from 3, 3 is less than 2… But she’s been my friend since 5th grade, so it’s OK. I memorized the first 47 elements, too during lunch the past three years. Hydrogen-silver. Yep. Be impressed!
I’m a nerd/geek, and proud of it! I am not a dork, however, at least not in my hearing. And I’m a mathlete to the core.
mathlete- one who enjoys math for math’s sake
Allison said that in mathcounts today too. Sameer and I are mathletes, but she is not, apparently. I’m not quite sure whether it’s a compliment or insult. I’ll take it as a compliment, I guess.
8-how!?!!?!?!? tell me!!! i need to know.
i am a geek. nerds are.. dunno weird. 1 aspect. computers. my computer that i built myself has been overclocked 500mhz. and it dual boots with ubuntu. and whenever i see an old computer on the street i cannot help but drool over it and see if there is anything at all useful inside. i find it reasonable to spend 20 dollars on an ide cable. i know what an ide cable is!!!! i tried to do the python thing, but had hwk. i can get anything off of the internet for free. i spend at least 2 hours playing wc3. music geek. ive got 3k songs on my itunes. starting in november, when my hard drive died. umm. book geek, i read 2-3 hours a day. err. i am more inteligent than everyone in my class. including about half of my teachers. uhh smart geek? oh yes, and i built a trebuchet. it shoots 300 yards. there. done. now to reply to comments!!
55-#3 thats me!
58-ummm hehe…. avain influenza!!!! runa awway!!!!!!!!!
oops sorry. but
36-west wing?!?!!? zomg i loved that. dunno why, but twas awesome.
Oh, yes. I am a Monty python geek. It is terminal.
So’m I. And HG2G.
And I. Monty Python, H2G2 geek. Not enough to get the DVDs, though. Too expensive. I’m already saving and planning to get that iPod battery that added like a day of playing video reviewed in Wired last year and a connect cable for my TI-83+.
Glad to be an
Elegant
Elephant who is
Kidding if she should ever
Say that she isn’t a
Reading maniac,
Underage annoyer,
Listmaking optimist and an
Exstatic GEEK!
67-I sang it in front of the class. My teacher was so impressed he gave me 25 extra credit points. And it’s in the 8th grade video. *cackles evilly*
Is it bad my favorite thing to do is set off bottle rockets? There’s a park at the end of my street, and it has two fields. The nearer one I can see from my house, the farther one I can’t. One day, around March, I go out there and test my newest. It’s bright blue. The guys playing football see it go up and hit it. So I have no choice but to go over there and pick it up. That’s how much of a geek I am.
67 ~ I tend to have very full summers, so I’ll get back to you on that!
Oh, and were you taking a survey on the compliment/insult thing? I took it as a compliment, as I said.
69-72 ~ West Wing, Monty Python, and HG2G ftw. :3
got pacman today. i was depressed b/c andy said his comp lost it, but then i remembered that i’d given it to leeny when i was using mark’s so i stole it from her. and was happy. whee, pacman! then messerly came over in science and starts up this random conversation about videogames. she’s rambling about how she just has old systems and how cool they still are and whatever and i’m just like “yeeah, i don’t have ANY system.” so she talked to leeny about arcades instead. I despise arcades, but i like comp and calky games.
i got the orcish frat boy costume on KoL. Which, in case i haven’t mentioned, is life. Also got into the Obligatory Pirate’s Cove and got the swashbuckling costume. The hippies don’t want to give up their clothes though. Odd, considering…but you only need the hat and pants for the hippy costume and i’ve got the hat. And i beat the boss bat. and the king of cobb’s knob. and i got the meatcar. it was a very profitable day for me. i had about 200 adv. to start. ’twas good.
Oh! i read ender’s game last night. It was really good. and i was able to read the whole thing straight through (skipping a good bit of hw, true, but you can’t have everything) First time i’ve been able to do that in a while. i’ve been actually going to bed. Like, at a semi-decent time. although actually i read two plays straight through though. So it’s not really the first in a long time at all…but whatever. it’s still special, ok? Gosh, nobody appreciates me! How would you all feel if i just went and jumped off a cliff? You’d laugh! you’d probably be glad to be rid of me! You’d probably throw a party! Well you’re not going to get rid of me! I’m just going to go into this corner and cry! I mean it’s not like anybody appreciates me! Nobody cares what i think! So i’ll just go sit over here and cry! You’re so mean to me! Why on earth would you want to make me cry? That’s barbaric! I should slap you! Low-down piece of dirt! Making a poor child cry! You ought to be ashamed of yourself! What if i HAD jumped off that cliff? You’d be in trouble, that’s what! You’d be in jail! It would be all your fault! Well i’m just going to go poetry about you, that’s what i’m going to do. ANGRY poetry! And i’ll post it online! And then maybe people will sympathize with me! But nobody will, because nobody cares. Nobody appreciates my talent.
I don’t know where on earth that came from. Sugar, probably. XD let’s hope i can ramble that much on my essay too.
74- You memorized the whole thing? *awe* I could probably if I put my mind to it, but I’d probably mix up the verses and crack up when I started to sing in front of the class and my earth science teacher wouldn’t give me extra credit- you can’t get extra credit in regents classes. According to this teacher. And it’s not exactly earth science, more like chem.
75- Not a survey exactly, but Helen and Allison said take it either way, and Mark I think would probably say something in the tone of you’re so good bitterly and say just take it as a compliment, and you were closer than Lisa, so I acted on an impulse and asked you, because I thought you were probably enough of a mathlete to give the right answer, and I’d take it either way if someone told me to- I wasn’t sure.
76- KoL=Kingdom of Loathing? I was randomly online late one night (well technically early one morning) a few weeks ago, and found this page in this might be a wiki on TMBG references in KoL, and from there got to the KoL wiki page, and it sounded weird/freaky/cool but I didn’t think anyone I knew would recognize it. That’s interesting. What do you think of it? You have rekindled my curiosity.
“Be nice to nerds. You’ll probably end up working for one”
-Bill Gates
76 ~ Whoa. -walks away slowly- Ender’s Game is really good, though. I’ve read it about fifty times. xD
78 ~ Amen!
xD I would love it if I became like Bill Gates and some of the popular preppy girls in my school were working for me.
I have no aspirations to become a computer genius, but you know…it’d be funny.
Bill Gates= My best friend ever.
80 ~ I want to go to his house so badly. xD
Go Bill Gates! Whew! Go Bill Gates! Whew! It’s you birthday! Whew! Not really! Whew! But go anyway! Whewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
Gosh. I am NOT doing that again. (unless you ask me to )
I’m a band geek, a grammar geek, a spelling geek, an all-round English geek, and a bit of a history geek. Just a BIT.
Oh, and I loveth the little SuSE logo- the Geeko. *geekogeeko*
Today I was trying (and failing yet again) to get calculator games from Robert before band (actually this time it was the periodic table of elements) , and the band teacher came up and said, you’re both great, no offense, but when you’re standing in the hallway with your calculators connected transfering programs, it looks really dorky. I said, well that’s OK, I’m a dork. It was interesting + somewhat funny. There’s just not enough memory. *cry* Do any of you know of a way to add memory to a TI-83+?
77-Freaking amazing. It is life.
Bill Gates=not my best friend ever. but i’ll give a w00ty w00t anyway. why not? w00ty w00t!
sooooooo tiiiiired.
TGIAF

idk. whatever…
doc didn’t really take 20 pts off. that made me happy. and made him teh pwnage again.
oh, we had a big assembly for black history month. we had the athletic person guy from OSU, so we (meaning the hardcore band geeks) played the notre dame (where he’s from) and OSU fight songs. go us. He gave a speech, and there was another speech by a girl who had moved here in 6th grade from the ghetto and now coaches track at some college or other that i forget, and some dancing. quincy was the only dancer i knew, but cheese knew another one, and the girl that does announcements was another.
oh and cheese and i skipped about half of study hall and got mildly admonished-more disapprovingly looked at really-but we’re gonna leave from the cafeteria now instead of the library and go down to the band room or something. cuz they don’t let you do ANYTHING in study hall any more. that crazy lady is making study halls all over into a complete joke. like the librarians actually care now. or almos does at least. nolan’s still pretty cool, but he’s not around as much.
i think jacob’s idea was good, asking for the costume room keys, but i doubt we’d get them. still think we should try though.
*sigh* such is life.
84-i don’t, but i think andy might. i’ll ask. XD
oh speaking of andy, it was really funny, alon was blabbing about various comp facts and whatnot that nobody cares about and andy’s like “ok alone. just let me say this. You have no life” and i turned around and was like “and you do?” He couldn’t argue that. total pwnage. ’twas amusing.
*that’s “ok alon, not ok alone. i’m not used to typing his name, and it always seems like a typo for alone.
curious and questioning-
google “overclocking ti-83’s” – i found a website once, but it does involve taking apart the calculator, funky pieces of processing, and blowtorches. maybe u should upgrade to… TI-84+ silver edition!!! (u can also buy funky covers for this model to pimp it out)
i guess if im talking this much about graphing calculators, im on the right thread
p.s. if anybody knows how to program in ti-basic, post sum’n – it seems like only the hardcore (like me) know stuff like that
p.p.s. why is some stuff (monty python, especially) considered “nerdy/geeky”? i guess if u only watched it in your mom’s basement it would be, but any python is awesome with some friends – it does not mean no social interaction
quick thought – does being a “nerd/geek” = being completely shut out from society? for instance, im the captain of my cross country and lacrosse team – but im also the captain of the math team. i listen to the arctic monkeys (british post-punk band) – but take piano lessons. i think that’s the great thing about MUSE in general – compromises.
89: I’m having visions of a hit TV show…”Pimp my calculator!”
90-not necessarily. i’m a geek, but i have friends. They’re just geeky friends. XD
91-OMGYESSSS
my calky is not pimped at all. It does have pacman though. I’m thinking of deleting everything but pacman and tetris (and possibly snood) and trying to put all the mario back on. i don’t know if anybody still has that though.
I am not a nerd I CHEERLEADER!
93. Ohhh…and that’s much better…(note sarcasm)
90. I’d agree with the compromise thing…
89- Thanks, I guess. I doubt my parents would let me play with a blowtorch and an expensive calculator. I also doubt they’d buy another more-expensive calculator for me. I wish I’d gotten a ti-84+ to begin with. Why is it that a ti-83+ has around 20000 bytes of memory, but on the ti website with downloadable apps, they have all these for the “ti-83 and 84 family” that I know for a fact by checking other people’s calcs take up like 60000 bytes. I’m seriously considering deleting some of the less-used stuff that came with it. Only archived stuff like those don’t take up RAM. What does that I can safely delete?
(93) ♪~Grammar is the most wonderful thing~♪
I deleted the finance thing. We haven’t used it yet, and i doubt we ever will. Unless i take hardcore math stuff, which i won’t. I don’t know if there’s anything else i deleted…the only apps i’ve got on there right now are the first one, name of which i forget, mirage, and the puzzle pack.
97- What calculator do you have?
I just spent an hour looking stuff up online. Overclocking increases speed of apps. Don’t care much about speed. I just want games(at least one) on my TI-83+. I need memory. I read something on ticalc.com, I think it was, about a mem adder program, but I couldn’t find it. I am now looking at games on ticalc.com that will fit on my calculator, having given up on changing something within, the memory. Do apps go into archive memory place or normal ram? I thought ram, but maybe not.

You guy are weird like I said I’m not a geek I’m a CHEERLEADER! Also I am no good in school..so! I HATE MATH!
107 – why are we weird? Geekness is awesom! In the muse-world, geekness pwns!
Not being good in school and hating math definitely are not things to be proud of here…in my opinion.
Don’t hate math.
Because:

As Urban Dictionary so eloquently puts it:
Geeks are pretty much people who have a real understanding for a certain topic eg Films, music, cars. It’s usually that they are totally obsessed about the topic, or it’s just something they think alot on.
Therefore, cheerleading=geek activity if you enjoy it quite a bit. ☆

*Goes into drama geek mode* I think the auditorium is my favourite place to hang out nowadays. I was in there w/ Ashley during second lunch yesterday. We were sitting underneath the light box / room thingie (above the stage), when all these random pieces of paper / old scripts started falling on our heads! I have yet to go up in the catwalk, though. Have to do that sometime before graduation.

SCIENCE GEEKS WILL RULE THE WORLD!
It’s funny. At my school, being a combination science (but violently opposed to math)/band/totally fashion unconscious geek puts you at the bottom of the heap. At the high school, however, band geeks are the most popular people there are.
I don’t want to be popular. I think of popularity as the worst curse that could be laid on a person.

everyone of my sisters friiends has a nickname… her’s is “tuz”, ryan (a girl) is “gee” (don’t ask), dinah is “dr.”, sarah is…. well she talks to walls. and mimi is “trevor”. well, i wanted a name, and so did my friend jocelyn. so we learned to speak some made up languages (Simlish, like in Sims computer game; and Hsilgne-Hsilgne, or backwards language). then we made up nicknames. mine is “Dren” (nerd backwards), and hers is “Krod” (strange, but dork backwards). my sister, “tuz” is “enasni” or insane. describes her perfectly.
i don’t really kno that krod is a dork, but w/e she liked it. i am a nerd, very smart if i do say so myself. i rigged the laptops provided by my school (and it’s a public school, too) to i could go online whenever i wanted, and go to blocked sites and personalize my desktop and many other things that i can’t remember. why this is important i don’t kno.
reading is my thing! a book a day keeps summer school away, unlness of course you want summer school because you miss school so much… which i might. but my plethoras of summer camps (and classes at the community college w/ my mom) including at NOAA…. yada yada yada.
my friend says that i am not a true nerd because i hoped for a sno day, in fact i am always hoping for a sno day. even in june. who knos? it could happen!!! freak sno storms are POSSIBLE, after all.
what i wanna know is why i can’t be popular *and* smart. i like reading, math, science, art, social studies, science, reading, english, science, and basically everything except gym. blah. we have to wrestle. with boys. enough said.
but i like makeup and clothes, and doing my hair, and makeovers, and girly stuff, and romance novels…. about as much as Jules Verne. my other fave author Meg Cabot. female heros who arenot typical (go girls!). coolishness.
now i’m just typing for the sake of ding something becaus neither Cabot or Verne is calling to me. i would like to try Nietzche, but when i asked my mom, she just looked at me funny and had me google him.

1. You’d rather go to the book store than the mall.

2. Billy Bob Joe and Fred both invite you over. Billy Bob Joe is hott and likes you, but Fred has a Wii. Whose house do you go to?
OK, first of all, these are two people of the opposite gender, and they invite me over? That never happens. Second, I don’t grok “hott”. I just don’t get it and nobody has been able to explain. Third, I’ve found the examples in the definitions of “hott” are usually people not on honor roll, and I wouldn’t consider them for even a second. Fourth, nobody that I know likes me, in all probability. I’m not even sure they’re sure I’m human and not vulcan. Fifth, nobody I know has a wii. Sixth, I have never played a video game not on computer, so I’d be kind of lost. Seventh, how do I feel about them? Lastly, I’d probably get one of them to reschedule so I can see them both or have too much homework to see either.
3. You spend more time talking to your friends online than you do in real life or even on the phone.
In all likelihood. Actually, it seems I have two sets of friends, those I know online and see rarely, and those I see everyday in school who never check their email or whose email I don’t know.
4. You have perfected the art of playing games in math class, right down to pausing from time to time to scratch your head and maybe scribble something. You never get caught.
If only I had games on my calculator. *wistful sigh* I pay attention in class, though, and I’m like the only person to volunteer.
5. You can understand the bad jokes that your teachers make about whatever it is you’re studying.
Too true. My social studies teacher has forever asociated me with Monty Python. Not that it’s a bad thing, but I’ll never live it down. It is funny, though. This is the same teacher that thinks I’m like the smartest person there. *not bursting his bubble*

-Internet geek — I’m hip to (most) of the shock sites out there! No way you’re surprising me with a gross picture!
-Humor/comedy geek! Angst and emo are astoundingly boring. Bring on the funny!
-Love-and-peace rights-for-all geek, although I’m not sure that’s even geeky. Still, the fact remains that people who call things “gay” need to find a new insult. We know you’re insecure, you don’t need to exploit innocent words to prove it.
-Book geek! I read Memoirs of a Geisha in two days.
-Politics geek — it’s just a part of my Truthiness.
Wow, I guess I cover almost every base of geekiness that there is. I’m a socially maladjusted, unathletic geeky girl but this is not news to me.
(166) y hello thar, fellow internet/anime geek. 8D/ And I thank you for saying the bit about “omg gay!!1” because that’s both annoying and nonsensical.
76-KOL! WHOOOOOOO!
I’ve ascended twice so far, and am around level 8 currently.
166- are you new? I agree with many of those comments of yours in that post though I’m not an anime geek. Oh, and list the bands! and see if between everyone here, we’ve heard of them. (I’m just curious, we may have.) oh and would of does bother me as does improper use of the word gay (it means cheerful or homosexual, people. Go look in a dictionary for once!)
I don’t like the word “gay”. It can be insulting to some people. Oh, and I agree with the sock monkey. Look in the dictionary.
I have a few friends who are homo / bisexual, so it really bothers me when ppl misuse the word “gay.”
Yes, one of my closest friends is homosexual, plus I’m a member of my school’s GSA so misuse bothers me a lot. I don’t mind the word, there’s nothing wrong with it as long as you use it right. Used in a derogatory way, however, bothers me.
I don’t think the word gay should be such a big deal to everyone. It’s the person’s own business if they are gay or not and people shouldn’t talk about it all the time like it’s funny or even important to them. My school has a GSA and I’m not part of it for these reasons. Also, it bugs me how they have a “national day of silence” for gay people. Most people just do it for attention or to be like everyone else or so that they don’t have to answer any questions in classes. But for the people that really mean it, it’s like people honoring gay people. I know, I know, it’s to protest the mistreatment of gays and all that, but, as I said, it’s none of our business. If they’re gonna have a day of silence for gays, they might as well have one for Middle eastern people, Mexican migrants, rednecks, people that are technically retards, idiots, morons, etc.Jews, Christians, Muslims, and everyone else that fall under a category that are made fun of by other people.
My friends uncle is, and i’ve met him. He’s really nice. So, yes sock monkey and all u others who don’t like the word “gay” being misused, I agree.
is anyone on?
hellooo?
bye

174-78. this is a forum, not a chat room. ao noone will reaspond to you within a minute. also, try to post once as opposed to four times.
166- You sound loudly crisp. You’d be surprised about the bands, though. I ♥ TMBG. At least most of what I’ve heard so far. example: Have you ever heard of Tom Lehrer? I thought I was the only one, but he’s practially common knowledge here.

As a girl in high school, I must post my philosophy on adolescent males: all nice guys are homosexual.
However, I’d be happy to be proven wrong on a forum, because I haven’t met anyone. -nods-
I just checked and the science thread from Nov. 2005 I found was closed to posts. Renewal please?
Oh, and 182 is unfamiliar to me, so *pies*. She’s also 1337. I know basic leet, like 3=e, 7=t, 1=l or i, 8=b and pwns, but I’m nowhere near fluent. Will you help teach me more then, valent1ne?
Am I the only one who seeks out the geek threads? Am I that uch of a geek? Yes, apparently so. *echoes*
weirdness and nerdiness rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn’t this make your eyes hurt?
yeah it does
Science fair today. Neither Korrora nor I won anything, but that’s OK. What really bothers me is that certain people, who I shall not name, who heard my angry rants every time the other fair was brought up, still went to the MSTE and not the competitive fair. When I see them on Monday I’m going to be very angry.
hey let’s make a list of what is geeky. here’s #1:
buttoning the very top button on you collar (or even wearing a shirt that HAS a top button like that)
