  1. First post?….

    Anyways,

    KOKO ADDICTED?

Kokopelli was spotted yesterday by a river shooting random banapple berry pies at a nearby bridge. We are yet to decide whether this was an act of anger, or our dear Koko can not go a day without throwing pies.

In other news, Musecasts one and two where released recently, and the musebloggers are listening excessivley.

NEWZ FLASHEZ! Ebeth is procrastinating. Ebeth is slightly bored. Ebeth thinks even the bball game would have been better than sitting around. Ebeth wonders if there is jazz band. Ebeth thinks probably not, but she feels like going anyway. But she doesn’t want to go and find out there is none. Which there probably is. None, i mean. Ebeth is hungry. Ebeth is getting food. Yay for Ebeth.

  10. MUSEFLASH – Purple Panda has a 2-hour delay. Sadly, unlike yesterday and the day before, this 2-hour delay will not be turned into a cold day. Purple Panda was enjoying the 4-day weekend, and hoping it would turn into a 5-day weekend. But, alas, it didn’t.

  16. MUSEFLASH:

Visala gets another week to analyse an Akhmatova poem, cos there wasn’t any time to present it at the end of class, mostly thanks to Kelsey, Maddy and Andrew. :D Which not only puts off her speech, but it also gives her time to THINK about this poem and do a slightly better job than she did at 11:00 last night.

Visala is also worried that her friend might cast her as the star in her Animal Farm musical. She frets. She is chewing off her own hand in her worry.

Visala had a completely pointless day. Does that count as a worthy Museflash?

Visala frets some more cos the person she is writing a play with has screwed-up internet. “Damn,” Visala thinks.

Visala hates talking in the third person. “Grr,” she says.

Visala used the aspirin she bought at the vending machine today. WOAH!! She did not buy coffee. HOLY POOSH!

Visala is currently obsessed with the songs “Magic Bus, “Pinball Wizard”, “Magic Carpet Ride”, “Houses of the Holy” and “Vertigo.”

Visala’s hero left her a happy birthday comment on the Satanic MySpace. It has given Visala’s life a little more meaning.

Visala’s entire English Class of Undying Love and Fear sang “Happy Birthday” to her today and she DIDN’T TURN RED!!

Visala said something laughter-inducing in her sixth hour for the first ever. She feels smug and happy.

Visala has somehow convinced herself that these things are interesting. Talk about delusion.

  17. museflash- there’s been like three inches total snowfall this winter, one two hour delay that would’ve been nothing in a normal winter, and below-freezing wind chill all week. But no cancellations.
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition! Except me. Once I said that in social studies, and now my teacher associates me with it and I don’t not expect him mentioning it anymore or hearing it in school.

  24. Otzi is angry. Otzi is angry because she is not on the lacrosse team. Because, the coordinator did a lottery system, and though Otzi has played on the team for 2 whole years, she was not selected, as were several other veteran team members. Otzi’s high school of choice does not offer LaX, and so Otzi is unlikely to get a chance to play next year. At Otzi’s school, LaX is a hardcore sport. Several of Otzi’s friends who are similarly veterans- and, like Otzi, LIVE for laX, didn’t make the team, which is now composed mainly of noobs who don’t know how to hold a stick the right way up. Besides, they have next year, and, hello, Otzi and her fellow veterans are going to HIGH SCHOOL. They can play next year. We cant.

  28. I think that censorship is bad, and seriously, people wouldn’t notice curse words if other people didn’t go “OMG HE SAID ___ GAPAS BAN HIM OMG MY INNOCENT MIND IS FOREVER SCARRED OMGOMGOMG” every time someone used one. Seriously. This isn’t that big of a deal. And anyway, that gets into the issue of “what is a curse word”. Do words in other languages count? British curse words? Words that sound bad that aren’t? Hey, since someone might get upset by them, how about the GAPAs start censoring posts that contain anything that someone might disagree with? Or posts about other religions? Hey, it might expose the younguns to different points of views, which is _bad_…. We don’t want openmindedness and diversity here, oh no..

And anyway if they watch TV they probably know pretty much anything you can say already.

  30. (43) I think that once in a while is fin or whatever, but recurrent use of language is not because:
-this site is linked to from musefanpage.com, which is referenced in Muse itself as far as I know. I’m fourteen and so used to language; it doesn’t affect me but I think it’s out of place here.

I agree with you on censorship. Messages should not be omitted etc. People should just tone down. Yeah.

  31. 43-bugger has a pretty bad meaning, but a lot of people don’t even really consider it a swear word. it’s all how you look at it. I personally don’t care if you swear. It’s just another word. But i can see how people could be offended, and i don’t swear often for that reason.

Ebeth’s homecoming is tonight. She might go out to dinner w/ck and weisman because she’s giving them rides, but everybody’s extremely indecisive.

She finally got the bridge in KoL. Happy day.

She freaked out her science teacher. “Messerly! Messsserly! We’re on a bridge, messerly!” She and bill are planning to do the same to featherstone when we next see him.

Funny thing-featherstone must think we’re all REALLY messed in the head. He always comes in at the worst moments of a conversation. (Ok, we are messed in the head, and most of our conversations are the worst moments. But still) So i was talking to bill…

Bill: Yeah, i was telling my mom how we kept inadvertently traumatizing featherstone…
    Me: haha
Me: he always comes in at the wrong time
    Me: What did she say?
    Bill: yeah
Bill: she’s like “that’s so mean! he’s like a puppy!”
    Me: HAHAHAHA
    Me: that is so true
Bill: Yeah, that’s what i said

Anyway. That’s my life. Freaking out teachers, doing the time warp again, and spending an inordinate amount of time online. XD

  32. I’m worried about one of my friends. I know she cut herself once and got help, but yesterday we had art class, and as she tilted her brush to paint, I saw the inside of her arm. Covered with fresh cuts. I asked her what happened (even though I already knew) and she said “grumph” and quickly pulled her sleeve down. Lots of her other friends either carefully avoid looking at her arms or say “I cant believe she’s so depressed. What has SHE got to be depressed about?” Well, I dont see much either- her mom is remarrying this extremely nice German man and his tolerable kids. As stepparents go, he’s probably going to be a pretty good one. I mean, he paid for a bunch of us to all go rock climbing, and he walked a long way through a blizzard to pick my friend up from school when his car spun out. But that really doesnt matter- whether or not she has a reason to be depressed, it’s obvious that she is. Some of us are more resilient than others. I’ve emailed her mom, so if she didn’t know about the cutting, she does now. My friend will be extremely angry with me for “telling”, but I hope she will eventually understand.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  33. 45- I think I agree with you. Like, once in a while you’re really angry, and you half-block a word with asterisks, but the context clues make it clear, and that’s ok, and if you forget asterisks, the GAPAs can add that, but taking out large parts of a post, whole sentences, because of it is bad. Except in extreme cases.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  34. (47) A couple things to point out:

One: It’s good you recognize that it doesn’t matter why; she needs help, and it’s important you help her get it, as a friend.
Two: Just because he’s nice doesn’t mean she’s okay with it. I don’t know her story, but she could be bitter about it, or uncomfortable with it, etc.
Three: Who’s to say it’s necessarily the marriage that bothers her? Most thing that are upsetting people tend to keep to themselves and I am extremely put off by the fact her “friends” wonder what she has to be depressed about. You don’t have to be in a bad home situation to be depressed.

And most important: Act on this now. Tell her parents or a teacher A girl at my school killed herself last year, and her friends heard her talking about suicide but did nothing, and everyone suffered for it. Cutting leads to other things. Don’t let it.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0

  38. I (contrary to what I said earlier) think the GAPAs do a good job of censoring this stuff. They know when too much is too much. I never swear, and don’t like it when other people do, but I think cutting them all out would be unfair censorship. Plus, I imagine it’s probably more work for the GAPAs.

    Pie 0

  39. 52- you know, American teenagers can be depressed too, and it doesn’t always have to be a matter of having a reason – depression, bipolar disease, etc, are a matter of the chemicals in your brain being out of wack or something..

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  40. Wow, fridge. Of course, Swiss teens never cut themselves. Tell me, do you take classes in insensitivity? Depression is a disease. I’ve had it, and it’s pretty much (Speaking of censorship…-Admin). Would you say the same thing if I said I was worried about a friend because they had cancer?

  44. If enough posts are being deleted because people keep swearing, people should just cool their jets. As far as i’m concerned, there is rarely a good reason to swear. I mean, sometimes, the situation permisses it. But under normal circumstances, swearing just makes people sound crude and unintelligent. I, personally, don’t mind a whole lot when people swear. I’ve become rather numb to it. But what reason is there to offend people unnecessarily? So i don’t break my own rule, does anyone consider the word “crap” to be a swear word?

    Pie 0

  45. GREAT job Otzi! You did the right thing by telling. Your friend needs help if she’s cutting herself. And if her mom knew about it already and hadn’t done anything about it then… I probably shouldn’t state what exactly what was going through my head (the exact words, I mean) but… yeah. 52- well you’re a supportive fellow mber. /sarcasm. You know, I consider you and all other mbers a friend and friends to each other and supporting each other is a big part in that. Even though you opinions may be elsewhere, the least you can do is support her during her hard time. It’s incredibly hard to go through this and I’m sure your commentary isn’t helping. In other news ::DAW:: had a two hour delay and has not been enjoying her day at school so far. Though with the probability of homework from teachers is 2 out of my 8 classes. So with the next clas containing a horrible class with a test though was warned about was not studied for because of a snowday yester which ensued children running around outside without normal clothing on. They had their Pjs on thank you very much. If there was a ban on homework now would be the time for such measures. ::DAW:: is approaching a four day weekend at four ‘o clock for she is not leaving the school until then.

I had my jazz band today. One more practice until the school concert. We assigned solos this week. We played too, and stood up, and the school music stands failed yet again to go high enough to see the music properly while standing. And that was on level ground. In the concerts, the music stands are on the riser below you. Fun. I could barely see any music at all the fall concert between my bifocals that I have to look through the top for music and the defective music stands and the risers. We’re a middle school jazz band, though, and we do only the three school concerts a year. It’s an extracurricular. And the third trombone part is easy. I hadn’t had whole notes in forever before this.
