Happy Birthday, Sir Paul McCartney!

Bet he never thought he’d be a knight.

He’s 65 years old today (June 18). Do we still need him, will we still feed him, now that he’s no longer 64?

4 – Weird. Is the name purpously mis-spelled?

5- I think so. Something about “beetles with a beat” I believe. (Whoa, I knew that? Freaky.)

  8. Rebecca Lasley (Administrator) says:

(5, 7) The group went through a variety of earlier incarnations, including The Silver Beetles, which may have been in reference to Buddy Holly and the Crickets. (I say “may have been” because almost any story you hear about those days is open to question.)

    (6) For “service to music.”

I didn’t know there were many people who haven’t heard of them either. I have heard of them, and heard them, but I’m not that big of a fan…probably because I’m a classical-and-folk-music person.

    (14) Well, he was divorced before I turned 64, but yes it is a tad ironic.

I read an interview with him on an airplane recently. You know, I don’t think there ever was quite such a pair as him and john. Like butter and toast.

He owns property near where I live, but I don’t know if he ever comes here. I haven’t the faintest idea why he would want to. It’s so hot (particularly right now…blllaaaaaahhh)

Oh well, at least you know now. Go listen to some Beatles music, it’s good stuff. :D

17- I know about the Beatles! I even knew that there was member of the Beatles called Paul. But I didn’t know his last name, or that he would become a KNIGHT of all things! I like one Beatles song. Strawberry Fields. And that other one, whatsitcalled. But listening to the Beatles as often as I used to, (courtesy of my sis, naturally) plus the fact that they are what they are, on top of the fact that I heard Abbey Road about 15 times in the space of three days when staying with a four-year-old who was bugging me to say the very least, has soured what appreciation I had.

I looooooooooooooooove the beatles, meant to be misspelled by the band btw, especially Rubber Soul album. If u think it’s weird that Paul McCartney was knighted think about this: ELTON JOHN WAS KNIGHTED!!!!! the guy is AWFUL in his personal life and isn’t what ur supposed to knight somebody 4? I mean Paul was pretty bad too taking LSD & stuff but still ELTON JOHN?
