By special request of Alice: a thread for thinking up creative new catch-phrases to put on Muse‘s cover. Right now it’s “The magazine of life, the universe and pie throwing.” That’s not bad — and it’s certainly more exciting than what was there before. Can you do even better?

Hmm. Possibly. I had a good one a few minutes ago, but it’s vanished now. I’ll have to think about that (while researching Liberia!)
Muse Taking Over the World Since 1997
Hmm. How about:
Muse Read and Enjoy – If You Like Being Sticky
Naw . . .
I can’t believe I forgot to say: THANK YOU, GAPAS!
Muse Join the Ranks of the Musers: Read Muse and Vote Koko
Not so very good, but hey, it’s something.
Muse Froody Flamablamous Fun
Muse Enter If You Dare
Muse: Why not?
Muse: The magazine that’s mostly harmless
Muse: Voted world’s best by all voters.
It’s right, isn’t it?
Muse: From Art to Domesticated Zebras
(incidently, who here remembers the zebra artcle? It was from quite a while back I think)
Muse Read Muse: Our World Domination – erm, I mean World will benefit from it
Muse *maniacal laughter* Need I say more?
Muse Abandon all hope of normality ye who enter here!
Muse Pie-ing the world one person at a time.
Muse Educating the people of tomorrow – so they will grow up and start a pie war
Muse Training young pie throwers, I mean, geniuses
Eh, those weren’t very good. I like Alice’s:
Muse Taking Over the World Since 1997
I like the pieing one a day one.
I like:
Other Peoples:
“Training young pie throwers, I mean, geniuses”
“Taking Over the World Since 1997”
“Abandon all hope of normality ye who enter here!”
Trying my luck:
MUSE We jump to conclusions.
I:P
12- We do?
Muse Who needs formal education? Read Muse!
Ergh, not very good.
Or maybe take off the “Read Muse” part to make it better.
Muse The magazine that will educate you as well as school – with the bonus of getting pied.
I like:
Froody Flamablamous Fun
From Art to Domesticated Zebras
Educating the people of tomorrow – so they will grow up and start a pie war
I wanted to try something that didn’t start out with Muse and a colon, but all i can think of to rhyme with musers is losers and boozers. Not a great start.
So, back to the old Muse:
Muse: Don’t laugh at us now, we’ll be elected to office in a few years and have control of the laws governing YOUR life! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
does that give too much away? hmm…
How about a nice cheesy one?
Muse: Your mag for magic
Muse: Your source for science
Muse: Your place for pie wars
Muse: Your journal of joy
Muse: Your periodical of perfection
Muse: Your publication from paradise
Muse: Your ticket through time
Muse: Your THESEAREWAYTOOCHEESY*SPLAT*
i’m having fun with alliteration though, always good
16- *cackles insanely* Cheesy indeed. But so hilarious. “periodical of perfection.” *lapses back into giggles*
16- Also, “users” and “choosers” rhyme with musers…
13- We sure do! But see then we examine things carefully.
Muse: From the Publi-splat!-Where learning meets pie throwing
err… I don’t know if I like the second part of it *that* much but I like the beginning. So, if we can come up with something fun for the end bit, I like the begininning.
And I like all of you guys’! yay for slogan-making!
MUSE: Go to the MB and join teh pwning JS side
MUSE: Go to the MB and join teh friendly Zemtee side
OK now lets not go into that! Can we just stop? We were being good friends and I don’t want another pie war to bring us apart.
NOW for the real slogan…
I like: MUSE: Taking Over the World Since 1997
That is really fr00dy! I can’t beat that, or any of the others on this page!!!
Muse: Muse
Ok, so that was boring
Muse: READ IT RIGHT NOW OR ELSE WE WILL SEND OUR HPBS TO GET YOU!
Ok, ok.
Muse: A pie a page.
Muse: DON’T PANIC!
We talked about this on the thread where it first changed, but I’m too lazy to look it up.
Muse: The only magazine that really matters.
Muse: You know you want to.
Muse: Ok, maybe you don’t want to, but the HPBs will force you to read it anyway.
Muse: Chances are, you know one of us. And if you don’t join us, that person knows where you live.
Enough read-muse-or-die slogans.
Muse: The highest quality magazine for future dictators.
That didn’t really stop, did it? Someone post something non-violent, quick!
Muse : Mostly Harmless, Much entertainment, Meraculous learning. Alice, I probably spelled three things wrong here. Help me out?
I like Ebeth’s super cheesy ones. They are excellent. And I like Muse: Who needs formal education? (without the “Read Muse” bit)
What does cheese have to do with muse? (just wonderin)
26- Actually, the only thing you spelled wrong was Miraculous.
Completely irrelevant, but I just realized Ebeth’s current name creates a paradox, because ‘Ebeth the titleless” is a title.
now, back on topic:
muse: what rocks may or may not do.
I can’t think of an others. I like the one they have now.
teehee. *feels sneaky with a titleless title*
ooh, i vote Muse: Who needs a formal education?
This sounds fun! I like Alice’s-Muse: Taking Over The World Since 1997
Muse: For those in need of a pie in the face
Muse: Half of your subscription fee funds homeless HPBs
Muse: Half of your subscription fee funds Mostly Harmless
Muse: Danger! Kokopelli ahead!
Muse: You are now entering the Pie Zone
What do you guys think?
Muse – Where Nerds unite.
20: I get it! A throwback to the old slogan! That one and Alice’s “since 1997” are my favs.
I’m flattered. Everyone likes my slogan!
33-I like that one! Hilarious!
These are all funny, but I can’t beleive nobody has yet quoted Shakespere!!! (Was that a double negative?)
Muse; “Though this be madness, there is mehod in’t” *SPLAT*
Or, wait a minute, IS there any method in Muse?!?!?!
Maybe I could parody the old one:
Muse: from the creators of learning, craziness, and pie wars
Muse: O brave new mag that has such weirdness in it.
Muse: Hitchhikers Guide to the Planet.
Muse: Abandon all ignorance, ye who enter here.
Muse: HPBs
need I say more?
Muse: Home of the Hot Pink Bunnies
Muse: Once you enter you won’t want to leave
Muse: Silly rabbit! Muse is for kids!
muse: Don’t Panic- we haven’t pied you. Yet.
muse: Encouraging insanity since 1997.
Well, I’ll try my luck.
Muse Knowledge or Insanity? Why not both?
Welcome to Muse. We are busy throwing pies, can I take a message?
Does that second one even fit the right format?
43- it may not fit into the current format, but muse wouldn’t be were it is now if it weren’t flexible. it’s a good slogan too.
Muse – Improbability Drive Engaged.
Muse – Pwning you.
Muse: Mwa ha ha ha ha!
Muse: Tee hee hee
Muse: This is life. The rest is only details.
Muse: Don’t worry. The pies come later.
Muse: it’s smaller now!
48 – lol
Muse: The magazine of
life, the universe, andpie throwingI like Alice’s Muse: Taking Over The World Since 1997
Muse: The Land of the Bunnies and the Home of the Pie Throwers
Muse: Mostly Harmless (Most of the Time)
Muse: Your Key to Insanity
Muse: More Than Just Paper
Muse: Oy. Vey.
Muse: Welcome to Museland
Muse: Handle With Care
Muse: NOT ORIGAMI PAPER!
Muse: Surrender or Be Assimilated
I like Muse: Your Key to Insanity.
Somehow I feel that these aren’t going to want to make people but Muse…
47-I like those last two!
52-Hmm, I guess. Most of them are inside jokes.
Muse: Did you really think there was anything else?
Muse: You must be a Muse reader. Your insanity level is off the charts.
Muse: Did you honestly think we would put something smart-sounding here?
This is a list of slogans I especially like. (Other people’s.)
Muse Froody Flamablamous Fun
Muse: From Art to Domesticated Zebras
Muse Educating the people of tomorrow – so they will grow up and start a pie war
Muse Training young pie throwers, I mean, geniuses
Muse: From the Publi-splat!-Where learning meets pie throwing
Muse: What rocks may or may not do
Muse – Where Nerds unite
Muse; “Though this be madness, there is method in’t” *SPLAT*
Muse: from the creators of learning, craziness, and pie wars
Muse: O brave new mag that has such weirdness in it
Muse: Encouraging insanity since 1997
Muse Knowledge or Insanity? Why not both?
Muse: Don’t Panic- we haven’t pied you. Yet.
Muse: Don’t worry. The pies come later
Muse: Your Key to Insanity
Muse: More Than Just Paper
Muse: You must be a Muse reader. Your insanity level is off the charts.
And of course there is the bitter humor of R-tH’s “Muse: It’s smaller now!”
55-but muse is smaller now! it’s 40 pages, justbiger than cricket
Muse: Once upon a time there was a pie. The rest is history.
I dunno, I’m uninspired right now.
Has Cricket shrunk, too?
58-no just muse.not cricket,ladybug,click,sipder,ask,or the others
i LOOOVE:
MUSE: Taking Over the World Since 1997
Muse: encouraging insanity since 1997
41- ithink that would work better: Silly BUNNIES muse is for kids. haha. HPBs get it?mahaha. not actualy funny. kagy goes and hangs her head.
Muse: because we’re smarter.
Muse:it’s easy as pie
not very inspired but whatever
“Muse: United We SPLAT!“
Muse: Not for Popular Kids over 3 years
60-Good idea.
61-LOL
Muse: Love pies, hate hot pink bunnies? This magazine is for you! (And possibly people who like strange facts)
58~ I’m not sure about Cricket, (I get just about all the mags from Carus Pub.) but Footsteps dissapeared a while ago, and Faces and Calliope have gotten bigger. In format at least. Muse is my favourite one though.
Most of these slogans only make sense to us because we’re already musers, but for newbies I really don’t think they’d get it.
I kinda like what’s on there now, Muse, the maazine of life, the universe and Pie throwing” because it is zany enough and old time musers can chortle over it, but newbies gan grasp it as well. Geez, i seem to be in the mood for long posts tonight….
Wow. All those subscriptions must cost your family hundreds of dollars a year.
By the way, Cicada is about to disappear, too.
66-It is? =/ Well, I don’t get it, anyways.. I get Cricket, Muse, and Ask. And I might get Click and/or Spider…I forgot. I think we get Spider but not Click. Idk.
66- *gasp* NO! Well, I’ve never got Cicada, but I’m almost the right age for it.
66-I got Cricket (still do) and I liked it, I guess. Now I’m waiting at my mailbox for Muse. When I get a Cricket, I usually get it with Muse. Guess which one I pick up first.
I used to get Cricket, but my subscription expired, and due to Cricket’s steady decline in the past few years, I did not bother to renew it. Nor did my (now deceased) grandmother, from whom I got the subscription in the first place.
Interesting. What sort of decline? If the publishers are putting out a less attractive product, then readers ought to tell them for their own good.
AAHHHH…..
“Creating people who think for themselves”
“Thinking outside normal magazines”
“Taking over the world since 1997” is really good.
71- I’m not really sure . . . I’ll think about it and post it on the previous thread.
74-What previous thread?
Muse: 10 years of pies.
Muse: It’s got its own blog.
Muse: How the world works with pie on the side.
75- I mean the other thread – Muse’s Cousins.
66~ Cicada is going to disappear?!?!?! NOO!!!!!!! I was just going to start it! Why are they axing it? That’s really too bad. Oh, and I didn’t mean I got ALL the magazines. I get Muse, Cricket, Calliope, Faces, Odysey, [sp?] and Cobblestone. I am going to start Cicada too. And most likely I won’t be geting all of them anymore, my Mom and I decided that I wasn’t always reading them enough. But I’ll keep Muse!!!!!!
70~ what do you mean Cricket’s steady decline?! I still like it, true, my veiw about it has changed, I’m not reading it as a younger reader, so some of it’s stories are seming a bit pathetic to me now, but that’s not the writing, it’s my changing veiws on literature and the world in general.
I also get Dig, by the way…
Cricket is maybe running out of ideas? Also, the only times I’ve asked people if they get cricket, they either don’t know what I’m talking about or they say something about it being stupid, pathetic, lame, or dull. It’s pretty sad.
How about this (it is a combination of some other slogans)???
Muse: Educating you ( to take over the world, throw the best pies, and hate hot pink bunnies)
I LOVE HOT PINK BUNNIES!
I STILL LIKE “Mostly Harmless (Most of the Time)”
MUSE- Where Oceans Meet Fires and Hot Pink Bunnies rule.
NAAAHHHHHH:
Muse- The newest conspiracy to hit the newstand.
MUSE- How the young people have conspiracies, too.
MUSE- Hot Pink Bunnies, conspiracies, and pies for the world.
MUSE- A Big Pie In The Face Of The World.
MUSE: Celebrating a decade of learning, knowledge, and SPLAT!
75-Good ones!
82-I like the newest conspiracy one.
Muse: Life through the eyes of the pies.
83. I like that one, too.
MUSE: the abnormal, atypical, and awesome magazine!
MUSE: Massively Unusual Stories upon Entrance
I know the u’s in there but ya know!
or
MUSE: Containing the random facts that make life liveable
Muse The ultimate mag for conspirators
I really like this one!!!!!!
MUSE- Hot Pink Bunnies, conspiracies, and pies for the world.
AAugh!!!!!!! My smiley face did not come out right!!!!!!!! Let me try again
It still didn’t work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any suggestions?
Muse: Because everyone could use a little insanity in thier life.
90-I have tried. Many times. It is just about impossible to put a smiley in your name, sadly…
Muse : So good, you will want to recommend it to random hobos on the street!
…nah.
Testing smiley-in-name…
I like the “since 1997”, “can I take a message?” and “United we Splat” ones.
I’m gonna leave this open and put them in as they come…
Muse Don’t worry, we’re all strange here, too.
Muse Enter if you dare
Hello, Muse speaking, could you talk fast?–we’ve got reality holding on the other line
Muse the Subtitle-less
Muse [snip! No personal links. –Admin.]
Muse ’nuff said.
Muse It’s an acquired taste
Muse The only magazine where people come up with subtitles for it.
What do you think? I kinda stole some of my ideas from other people, but that’s okay, right?
92-Lets see if an arrow works
Aaugh, it didn’t work!!!! What about a heart??
It worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am about to launch the great Muse campaign in [no way am I telling you the name of the town!]. We will pick slogans to put on the posters. Such as, “Do Not Anger the Hot-Pink Bunnies!” only probably not that one. Or the world domination one.
I love the one that they have now but I still horrible of thinking up new ones, but how about:
“Muse: The magazine for all pie throwers alike! And maybe a few muses too!”
See I told you I’m horrible! Oh, well… At least I was brave enough to think of something, thats a first!
How about
“ Muse : We couldn’t think of a slogan”
What about Muse: A world under Koko.
thats a good one lawrence
Muse: Expect the Unexpected!
104-I agree with that.
But I think it’s fine the way it is right now.
MUSE: Think outside the bunny.
MUSE: The magazine of the upper pie crust.
MUSE: The only magazine where pies go POP!
MUSE: What’s Normalcy?
MUSE: Just read it and forget about the slogan!
MUSE: You read slogans?
MUSE: Remember, we’re all musers he-*SPLAT*
MUSE Creating distractions for people who should be working on their NaNo. *headdesk*
MUSE: What? World domination? We wouldn’t do that…
MUSE: People, pies, and puffin puffs. (Puls, Pwt pwns!)
MUSE: What are YOU looking at?
MUSE: Where plans of world domination are as common as pie.
MUSE: Watch out.
They’re not great, but they make me laugh!
MUSE: Ignoring the norm since 1996.
MUSE: When you use words like “jocoserious,” everyone knows a) it is a real word and b) exactly what you mean.
