June is history, the frenzy has passed, scripts are done. Or not. If you’d like other MBers to read your finished (or unfinished) oeuvre, email it to gapa @ musefanpage.com (delete the spaces).
In order to preserve the formatting and to make these easier to read, the scripts are set up as stand alone documents. Click on the link.
purplefinch’s script
A Fabulous, Amazing, Chaotic, Magnificent and Frantic Fiftieth Bi-Annual Vlascar Race: The Totally Fake and Dramatized Version!
Mirabelle, the divine Qween of Green’s script (now complete)
Esperanza Claudia Anastasia Trishia Millentando the Third Goes on an Adventure
Alice’s script (partial)
Jillie’s Amazing Talking Journal
Hmm, I don’t think I’ll be uploading mine; I finally finished it, but it’s, well, atrocious, to say the least… *goes off to read purplefinch’s script*
Why is it that the scripts always cause a browser bogdown when they are in comments, but not when they are in seperate docs?
I haven’t time to read it yet, but I will! It looks amazingly funny. Huzzah!
I’ll also send my unfinished script. *sniff*
I sent it. It is probably a thousand times more atrocious than SM’s, and unfinished to boot, but I got halfway through; that’s an accomplishment.
purplefinch, you are amazingly talented. That is hilarious beyond belief. *reads on eagerly*
I nevr did one…
Dammit! 2nd post!
3 – It does look funny!
Hehe! This is much amusing. ♥
I finished it! Hurrah! It was really, really, really, really, really, really, funny!
Shall! I! Talk! With! Exclamation! Points! In! Between! Every! Word?!
(4) Alice, got your email but the attachment apparently didn’t send properly as it came up as a 0 KB file. You want to try again?
Also, was it a Celtx or Word file? It had both extensions.
Don’t feel bad about not completing the script. You got a lot farther than I did and probably wrote more than the vast majority of the entrants. An important part of the philosophy behind NaNo/SF is to risk making something truly atrocious. It’s an essential step toward making the good things happen.
10- Ah. I could have foreseen that. It was a Celtx file, I think, because Word ruins the formatting.
I’ll resend it, but I’ll send it to myself first.
(11) I have Celtx so we can try that.
It didn’t work. Celtx couldn’t open the file. I may have to resort to Word. *sigh*
Why is it that purplefinches script is but 92 pages long, whereas mine is 129 and not yet 20,000 words? It is not fair!
It is? That’s strange. Mine was only about 50 pages. Then again, my characters talked for long amounts of time and I also single-spaced everything, and used a small font…
Another reason I didn’t send it was my prodigious use of the word “Belgium.” Not really. But you get the point…
GAPAs, have you gotten mine yet? I think I emailed it this morning.
I haven’t emailed mine yet. I’m too lazy to hunt it down and move it to my desktop. But I’ll send it eventually, just without the nice format.
I sent it.
It’s really bad, maybe I should rewrite it.
We have Green Qween’s and Alice’s scripts and will post them as soon as we can.
19-Yay!
Green Qween and Alice, your scripts are now posted. The links are at the top of the page.
Since the original formating didn’t hold up in the transition, I used italics for actions to set them off from speech in hope that will make them easier to follow.
21- Thanks! *goes to look at it*
There were a few good scenes written when I was at the height of my powers, but most of it is utterly boring and fake.
*wait for Mirabelle to finish*
(24) No more waiting. Green Qween’s script is now complete.
I’ll definitely read all the scripts, and send mine in (as soon as I’ve finished editing it…yes, I’m a perfectionist writer person).
Near the end I added a bunch of long and winded and boring description stage direction-y things, so I’ll take those out too. (Yes, I was desperate for words because I had to finish 10 days early).
26- Editing… *blissful look* I didn’t bother editing mine, since I don’t really think it’s worth it, but yeah. *sigh*
5-thank you!
I can’t wait to read the scripts everybody else wrote!
Yeah. I should probably edit mine…
if u give me an idea i might be able to write one
This was a short-lived thread. I wonder when Pan will submit hers…
I just signed up for Script Frenzy. Kinda a bit late, but I did. So there.
31- don;t you mean early?
Sure. Either way, it’s not exactly June, is it?
33- isn’t it in april?
CAn we please have a Script frenzy thread?
(34) Script Frenzy starts in April, so let’s wait until March to start a brainstorming thread. Does that sound reasonable? We opened the NaNoBraSto thread in late September but that seemed a little early, even with many more participants than are likely for Script Frenzy. I’ve put a reminder in the calendar.
By the way, I see they’ve opened the event to all types of scripts this year. That should liven things up.
35- what was it last year?
hey have a realy funny website:
From the FAQs:
Is Script Frenzy going to steal my brilliant idea?
and
How can I scramble my script before submitting it to your untrustworthy word-counting goons?
so is NaNo’s FAQ:
Did you know there is a group in Vancouver that writes novels in a weekend?
Yes, and they are fools. Everyone knows that any deep and lasting work of art takes an entire month to make.
I’d love to do this. An amazing total of 4 minutes and 386 words into NaNoWriMo, my computer crashed. It’s still dead.
39-
and
Alice- read your script-
