in January 16th, 2011 @ 19:15First off I’d like to thank Tesseract for finishing the last thread with some of MLKs I Have A Dream speech. I think it was a great way to finish the thread.
I don’t dream very much any more, and either my dreams are terrifying or magnificent. The terrifying involves me in full costume and make-up for the play panicking uncontrollably and there’s lots of blood but it’s disgusting and you don’t want to hear about it.
The magnificent involves walking through a park on a rainy day and holding my girlfriends hand and showing her the forest and dancing in the rain and laughing.
The best dream I ever had, though, the most important for my waking life was when I was eight (and I’m only mostly convinced it was a dream). A good friend of my family’s had just died. This woman was in many ways my first role model outside of my mom and dad. I absolutely adored her. Anyway, about a week after her death I cried myself to sleep again, as I had every night since she died. In my dream she floated through my window, wearing white like they tell children angels do, and she looked alive again (the last time I had seen her despite still living she looked dead) and I knew her soul was with me, and she sat by my bed and held my hand and told me it would be alright, that she loved me and would look after me for the rest of my life, but I would not see her again as she had to care for her children as well. She held my hand until shortly before I woke up, when she hugged me tight, kissed my forehead and left. I didn’t cry myself to sleep on her account for another four years.
Most of my dreams, though, don’t make any sense and during the dream I know they are nonsensical but I cannot wake up.

Sadly, none of my dreams aren’t very meaningful. It never reflects specific things, but mostly the themes, like stress. One night I had four separate dreams, all involving me partaking in some extremely stressful task that was obviously very important. Every time I woke up sweating and had to calm myself down; it was quite funny.
Only one time I woke up screaming, and I don’t even remember what the actual dream was.
I remember waking up this morning thinking that my dream was awesome. I hate forgetting dreams, but I do so often -_-
Does anyone else control his/her dreams? I used to be able to, but I haven’t done it in a year or so.

To stop this from being a PoPo, I’ll say that no, I can’t control my dreams at all.In fact, I don’t even know that I’m dreaming until I’m awake. If I so much as think about dreams in my dream (which happened once), I do realize that I’m dreaming, but I can’t continue the dream anymore.

in January 31st, 2011 @ 22:58I’ve dreamt, realized I was dreaming, and then continued on with whatever adventure I was having because waking up would be too boring compared to what goes on in my dreams. I don’t really control them, though. I’ve tried, and it works about as well as it does in reality. These dreams are actually the ones I remember best, I suppose because I’m already partially awake.

in January 17th, 2011 @ 01:15I had a dream I was in the kitchen making my boyfriend a sandwich. I’m not even kidding. When I told him, he couldn’t stop laughing at the irony… all those woman jokes…
But then it turned awesome. Because I put cucumbers in his sandwich. And it was only after I told him this dream that I found out he LIKES cucumbers in his sandwiches, whereas I do not. *play eerie music here*

in January 17th, 2011 @ 10:38I had a dream where I had a harmonica. It was exactly like the one I ordered online two days ago. The harmonica and my hands where really in focus, and the rest of it was black smudge. I just kept turning the harmonica around and around in my hands. *has strange dreams*

in January 19th, 2011 @ 22:21I had a dream that I went to a city famous for its tardigrades, had a wonderfully interesting conversation with an expert on tardigrades, and even went to a tardigrade gift shop where I bought a scarf with tardigrades on it and a plush tardigrade, though in real life, I’d have gotten much more. It was awesome…

in April 18th, 2011 @ 22:01Really? Me, too! Mine’s named Urslet. It means little bear, and people once considered using it as a name for tardigrades. Is yours the blue Hypsibius Dujardini, one of the ones with flowers on it, or something else entirely? Mine’s the blue H. Dujardini. The one in the dream was yellow, though.

in January 23rd, 2011 @ 12:50I was at school and my friend won some tickets to the orchestra. I went with her (her parents drove us) and suddenly some evil scientists attacked us. They kidnapped us and put us in their lab, which was my house. My friend and I were trapped in my little sister’s room (oh, the horror!) where they tried to make us eat some radioactive hats (they were itchy and wool.) Then I tried to escape but there was this ugly hairless cat that kept attacking us. Then I threw a hat out the window, and met a friendly blue rope (yeah, you read that right) who let us climb on him to escape out of the room. We ran through my neighborhood and were running when we met up with my other friend who had some Starbucks coupons. We still didn’t have enough to pay for my latte, so we jumped into the ocean and kept running on the sidewalk. Eventually we met some people. I told them about our plight (we were still being chased by the evil scientists) but I exaggerated and said that there were radioactive squirrels, not radioactive hats. Then that was actually true and the scientists did have radioactive squirrels. The squirrels were neon green and glowing with weird light. Then I tried to explain to them and say that it was just an exxageration, but they wouldn’t listen. Sometime around that I woke up.

in January 23rd, 2011 @ 15:40A tardigrade, also known as a water bear or moss piglet, is a microscopic animal that looks sort of like a bear (hence ‘water bear’) and can live almost anywhere and survive all sorts of amazing, extreme things (temperatures of one degree Kelvin, for example, and complete lack of air, and ultraviolet raidation, to name but a few). I’m extremely obsessed with them and actually have a plush tardigrade in real life, and it’s not even close to the only tardigrade item I own, either…
Since I should probably put a dream in this post somewhere, last night, I dreamed that I was given 175 Galleons as a late Christmas gift from my aunt. I went to Gringotts to put them in my vault, but someone said that Professor McGonagall had told me not to. I refused to listen, and they went away eventually, so I put it back. I also had a separate dream that a friend, her dad, and I went to Disney World where a man from an alternate universe tried to kidnap us…

The robotics coordinator said to have more school-related team names (Awesome Bots. Or our school mascot.) But COME ON! I mean, last year we had Cyco Rabid Disco Mango Flavored Bunnies. They eventually shortened their names, but I mean… mascot? Yawn.

in January 23rd, 2011 @ 17:09I had two consecutive dreams, two nights in a row, that my cousins’ cats had begun burrowing into the ground in my front yard, make tunnels like prairie dogs would. It then became the mission of me, my friend and for some reason a unicorn, to find and cover the gopher holes before the cats could infest the whole yard.
No, I’m not even kidding.

I was walking on a road under the Golden Gate Bridge with my best friend C (I went to San Fransisco with her in July). We were all bundled up and hunched together because it was freezing cold and windy. We passed a bunch of hot dog sellers (odd: I’ve never actually seen a hot dog stand) and were happily looking up from below at the framework of the bridge when we heard people screaming. I don’t know from where. Suddenly, an official emerged from the bushes behind us and told us the bridge was going to collapse if we didn’t tighten a bolt at the very bottom of the pilings. I know, I know, the pilings of the GG aren’t underwater… but it was a dream. So she handed me a wrench and C and I both dived into the water. It was freezing and our sweaters dragged us down. The water was murky and green but we kept sinking, down the profile of a dropoff just off the cliff. it must have been a mile down. When I looked around, I could see the shapes of fish and sharks- big ones- circling us. It was almost too dark to see, but I found the bolt with my hands and tightened it. Leaving the wrench there, I grabbed C and we hurtled toward the surface, only to climb out of the water under the other end of the bridge, which is just rocks and dirt under a highway. Soaking wet, we climbed up the metal stairs to a bicycle path, and found ourselves back on the San Fransisco side of the bridge, where we went to a cafe in Ghiradelli Square and ordered hot cocoa and popovers and got them for free because we had saved the bridge, and everybody was clapping… and then we wandered around the city for ages, in Golden Gate Park and the National Academy of Sciences and everything… and that’s when my alarm went off and I started crying.

in January 30th, 2011 @ 13:45I actually like my nightmares. I have very cinematic dreams, and when I have bad dreams they’re always really scary, and it’s like I’m the hero of a horror movie. I never wake up in the middle of nightmares, so i always get to see the end, and everything always turns out fine. They are very epic (I mean this literally, not just in a sense of epic=cool) dreams, and i like scary movies. Call me strange, but I like my bad dreams.

in January 31st, 2011 @ 18:06My worst one was this: I am at the pool and hanging out. There is a door that they keep telling no one to go in. My friends and I go in and find these glowing orbs of light that give you superpowers. Now everyone is playing with them and having superpowers. I know I will be in trouble but I can’t escape.
I know, but it was quite suspenseful actually, like running from the law.

in February 22nd, 2011 @ 19:24I had a bizarre dream, but there was a good part: my very good friend and I were in London together (she was there to look at art and architecture). She was telling me about a wall carving of a Roman soldier, and then Daniel Radcliffe came up to us and told us that J.K. Rowling and Emma Watson wanted to see us. We went over to them and introduced ourselves. She was calm, but I was behaving like a lunatic I was so excited. J.K. Rowling was talking to our teacher, and Emma Watson called me a lesbian.

It was still a cool dream.

in March 10th, 2011 @ 13:21I just dreamed that I was Rose Weasley, except that I went to Salem Witches’ Institute instead of Hogwarts for whatever reason. In the dream, it was apparently know for teaching diction along with all the Hogwarts classes, so I suppose Rose wanted an extra class? That would make sense; it sounds like something Hermione would do, after all, and I really don’t remember Huo even being in the dream, so maybe he takes after Ron. Anyway, she was quite close friends wiht Lorcan Scamander, who for some reason was an adult (an old one, too; he looked a bit like a cross between Xeno and Lupin, actually, and he had a very interesting, colorful house though don’t ask me why it was in American.), and everyone at her school was really amazing at diction… The headmistress was the best at it, though, even though she looked like a cross between Aunt Marge and Madame Maxime, thouhg obviously not as large as the latter.

in March 10th, 2011 @ 14:46Once, since we are on the topic of Harry Potter dreams, I dreamed that I was Hermione, and we were going to Potions class (Snape was still the teacher, btw), and for some reason, Snape gave us all glass crowns. Now, as you might expect, we were so surprised that we (Herry, Ron, Ginny and I) started jumping around, but Ginny’s crown fell of and broke, and she started crying, and I was sort of like *awkwardmoment* and left.
Outside, I saw these huge nests, like one might expect a dragon to have, only they were a) on the ground, in an open field, and b) filled with water (???) coming out of a faucet on the side of each nest. I was looking at these when all of a sudden a giant squirrel, who apparently lived in one of the nests, flew out of the air and tackled me, and I fell into the nest, got all wet, and came out again. Then the squirrel for some reason started following me around for a while, then it left.
I went back inside Hogwarts, but I came to this weird garden filled with sort of 2D-looking, exotic, taller-than-me flowers of all different colors. The really odd part, though, was that Snape was standing there, with a chicken-wire fence rolled up in his hand, and there was a line in the dirt around the flowers like Snape had pulled it out of the ground. Apparently he had seen me, and said “Tell Dumbledore”, and left. This was strange because Dumbledore hadn’t appeared anywhere else in the dream, and besides what was I supposed to tell him anyway?
All I remember about the rest of the dream is looking out the window at a guy in a trash truck and thinking it was Snape, then looking closer and seeing that no, it wasn’t. It was really weird, that dream. It’s amazing that I remember it so clearly from like three years ago.I’m usually able to control my dreams, but first I have to realize that I am in a dream, or else I just happily go along with whatever is happening and haven’t the faintest idea that I’m better than all these fake people and their made-up storyline. He he. Then again, being a character in a story is sometimes more fun than just telling it, don’t you think?

That actually happens a lot to me. Also, a week before the Japan tsunami, I had a dream that a bunch of Pokémon were drowning. I think it was a sign.

in April 25th, 2011 @ 18:00I had a dream about a week ago that not only did I play the alto sax, tenor sax, and trombone, but I also played the bass (violin) and the drums. It was pretty crazy- I was, like, the whole jazz band. First time on the drums, I banged a couple of toms, randomly tapped the splash symbol, and the band director kicked out our other percussionist so I could play. But then there was no one to play the bass…
A few nights ago I had a dream that my friend Alto Sax was taken away in a white limo by some random aunt from New Zealand. Then she and some other dude who I think was Max-Ernest from the Secret Series were in this huge restaurant and there were a couple of tables all for them, with empty place settings and no food. Alto Sax and Max-Ernest were wandering around and asking questions, but nobody would answer Alto Sax’s questions and she got really, really emotional and upset, and started to panic. Which was really, really weird because in real life she is the calmest person I know.

in May 13th, 2011 @ 13:15I keep having weird dreams. Well, mostly they’re nightmares. For four nights in a row, they’ve been about M. He’ll shop up in the weirdest places, and although annoying I can’t decide whether I’m so happy to see his face again, or whether I want to cry. They all bring back bad memories.
Last night’s was a weird mix-up. I was going to adopt a puppy, and then Felix and M showed up in my puppy’s pen. So Felix kept the puppy with him and M and I went outside, and then we were in my choir practice rooms. And M was yelling at me and then he kissed me (which is probably one of the weirdest dream experiences one ever has because you can see it, but you can’t feel it).
And, predictably, then I woke up. Guess who had texted me?
Man I am like a walking teen angst factory lately.

I’ve heard several people say that they dream in black-and-white. As far as I know, all my dreams are in color.
It seems odd that dreaming should be so different for different people.

in May 13th, 2011 @ 15:33I definitely see in color, because sometimes, color is the clearest thing I remember about things. I’ve no idea whether I can feel or smell, though, which probably means I can’t. I can taste, but not rationally. For example, I once found a path full of edible stones in a dream, and they tasted like candy.

in May 13th, 2011 @ 15:21I dreamed a while ago that I was drinking a ton of hot chocolate, and it started tasting nasty.
That morning I woke up and went to school. When I came home from school I made myself a mug of hot chocolate like I always do, drank it, and went on the computer. Then my sister came home and wanted some hot chocolate, so I made her some and made myself some, too. I drank mine, but then before she could drink hers she got invited to a friend’s house, and I was left with ANOTHER mug of hot chocolate. So I started to drink it, and some unidentifable clump of meat got into it. I had the same nasty taste as my dream in my mouth all day, and I have never had hot chocolate since.

I really want to be able to lucid dream, but haven’t been able to yet. Also, it might not be a good idea to publicize that I’m interested in lucid dreaming, what with the recent Tuscon shooter and all.

in May 14th, 2011 @ 07:20It’s official. Staying up unreasonably late gives me the best dreams. This time I was in this house, and it was a trainging house, and we were chacing our mentor (who was Obi-wan) around the house. And before that the house was populated by giant snails and spiders. Adn tehre was this awkward bit when we were first visting the house because the daughter who lived there kept trying to hit on me and I had no idea what was goign and brutally rejected her, which made her cry. Taht was wehn I escaped and training in the house of traps and overly large bugs began. We had to eat tadpoles to survive. Then I came back to it twenty years later, when there were no big bugs, though I kept looking for them, but I was young this time and Obi-wan was old–like I said, too much Star Wars lately. Quite clearly I have not recovered. And there was this guide lady, who was amazed that people were coming to the house and also amazed that there were these plants growing there. I ate some of them, so I now know I can taste in my dreams, but not very well. Then the guide lady went crazy, and we were chasing our mentor around the house, and I ordered the other two two with me to outflank him, and right when we were about to catch him I woke up.

in May 14th, 2011 @ 11:07I’ve been writing down my dreams for the past two days, and in doing so, I discovered something.
I have all sorts of fantastic long dreams about magic and sword fights and spaceships. And a few short ones about talking to my friends and shopping and whatnot.
Guess which ones I can easily remember in the morning.

in May 14th, 2011 @ 13:24I dreamed about my grandma last night. We were at the old house, the one at North Lake, and it was her birthday. Except that it couldn’t have been her birthday, because it was spring, and her birthday was in October. Never mind that. I was staying in the blue room (the bedrooms in my grandparents’ old house had different colors–I always stayed in my uncle’s old room, which was blue. I liked it during the day, but at night it scared me) as usual, but for some reason I was up early and ran down the hall to the green bathroom and went in. I think I was dancing in there or something, in front of the mirror, but then some family members came in and I had to go into the blue bathroom (the blue bathroom, you may have already guessed, was the bathroom that accompanied the blue bedroom. I was terrified of the blue bathroom. I only went in when I absolutely needed to, and I never, ever turned out the light while I was in it). But when I walked past the blue bathroom door to go get my clothes, someone was in the shower, but when I went in the shower was dry. It was quite odd. Then I woke up.
More happened in the dream, of course. I talked to my dad and grandma and all, but I don’t remember what kind of interactions they were. I mostly just remember being in the blue bedroom and bathroom and the green bathroom.
Even though it’s been a few years since I’ve been in my grandparents’ old house, just thinking about the blue bathroom still gives me the creeps. Only instead of being a creepy dreamspace, it was a real one.I’m pretty sure I dream in color, after all, last night’s dream was about different colored rooms. True, I would have known the rooms’ colors anyway, but there was definitely color there.
I’m also pretty sure I can feel things when I dream. Not so sure about smelling or tasting though. They always seem realistic though, so I assume I must in some way.

in May 15th, 2011 @ 10:23I had a really, really weird dream last night. But it was long and disconnected and nightmarish so I’ll just tell you about two parts.
One was actually really beautiful. I woke up and went downstairs to see this vivid red light coming in through the windows. It wasn’t pale or diffuse or anything–it was bright red, shading a bit to magenta and purple. It was really beautiful and only lasted for a short period of time. When I started walking down the stairs again the normal sunlight began to cut through the red. That was probably the happiest part of the dream, though now I remember ‘red sky at morning, sailors take warning’ it’s a bit odd.The other part was in a really bizarre way a continuation of a dream I had a few nights ago. In that one I remember walking down a hilly street in what looked vaguely like downtown, with my brother and my friend L. Then I looked up the hill and saw there was a person with a video camera standing there like they were filming the street. In the dream I had last night I was watching TV and I saw that street, and spotted L’s hat and then me in the background. I could see myself looking at the camera, though it was far away. That’s the first time something like that’s carried over into another dream, that I can remember anyway.

in June 22nd, 2011 @ 15:42I had a dream that there was this Disney store or something at this mall and it was all weird and stuff and there was a waterfall in the back and we all dressed up and started acting out these scenes from Disney movies where they snog. Except nobody was snogging!!
But that was okay. And everyone was these girls I know from school like Tenor Sax and Oboe and Baritone Horn and Ponies (the two alto players in my band class. I was first chair reigning over them until I switched to trombone at which I stink, oh wait I’m getting off subject…) anyway, Red played the piano for soundtrack and I played the tenor sax on accompianment except I could actually hit the low notes, and I could hear his chord changes and he was improvising and I was playing along with him. Except the tenor saxophone was glued to the wall. Then everyone was jumping off of the cliff in the back and right underneath it was me and the tenor sax which was glued to the wall of rock.

in August 4th, 2011 @ 11:35I forgot to mention the dream I had on my canoeing trip. I was sleeping off a migraine, and migraines always seem to give me great dreams.
I don’t remember all of it, but: It took place around the turn of the 20th century, and it was about a Mensa-like secret society. To gain access to this society, you had to pass a series of tests, all of which were debates with members of the society. It all took place in a tall building, and once you beat the person on one floor, you’d climb to the next. It reminded me of battling the Elite Four. Anyway, there were two of us trying to become a member. In retrospect, the other person acted a lot like the Rival in Pokemon games–cocky, overconfident, short-tempered. Once you got to the top level, you’d have to go against the head honcho of the place. If you beat him, you were in. But someone along the line told me that you could choose to keep going–go one level higher, to the roof. Apparently that was insane and no one had ever done it. I don’t remember what would happen if you did go that high, but it was impressive.
Oh, did I mention that this entire thing was a musical?

Everyone was living badly, except us. We just went on with our lives. We ate sugary cereals and watched sitcoms. But when we went outside, there were cockroaches bigger than my head swarming around. They didn’t scare me. They only saddened me.
The world was going to end, and we didn’t do anything. We couldn’t do anything. It was too late. The sky and the air were a rusty red. I was sad because the world was going to end. There we were, at the end of the world. I remember thinking how bad it was. And dark. We had done bad things, and now we were paying. Then I woke up and there was sunlight streaming through my window and I thought,
Oh, well that’s all right then.

We have to stop this.

My friend and I went down to a lower deck to look around. It was mostly deserted, except for a few people. One of the maids was vacuuming the carpet. I asked her why she was cleaning and why wasn’t she waiting for a lifeboat, and she told me that she and her boyfriend had resigned themselves to inevitable death and were going to drown together. Water started gushing out of a stairwell. That’s all I remember, but it was really sad.

in August 21st, 2011 @ 06:38So in my dream I was sitting around, just chillin’ with my DSi in hand, when the walls start to warp slightly. I go out of the garage and sure enough, the whole house was tilting and twisting around. So then I go back inside and alert my whole family, including all my cousins and grandparents who were visiting. We all head outside. The warping is worse. A couple of the guys decide to head back in to salvage what they can. It’s raining really hard, so I ask my mom if I can go back to get my umbrella. She says sure.
Inside is chaos. Walls are appearing and disappearing, things are flying everywhere, I nearly got hit by a can of soup from the pantry, which has turned into some sort of monster…anyways, I make it safely up to my room and safely back down. Only the rain has stopped. It’s now glaringly sunny, much to my chagrin. There are stacks of juice boxes in the garage, 12, to be exact, so I take three (since there are 4 cars, each car gets 3 packs of juice boxes) and load them into the car. My mom says we don’t have any money. I say, can’t we just go to a bank? She doesn’t reply, just loads me into the car with my cousin and brother. We drive to this little bank right outside of an overpass before our house, and park. Someone says, now what? and then I wake up.
I have no idea what my brain is trying to tell me.

The only weapons were cutlery and pins and stuff, but someone found a sword that had been hanging on the wall. This other tribute was chasing me through the mansion with the sword, and I had to stab him with a fork and escape into the elevator.

We’re ice skating, indoors, at the lake house, and there were these cameras that were taking video, like security cameras. So I’m skating, and my sisters and my 11yearold cousin A is there too. A is like “I know you like someone, who is it, tell me” and finally I say “[Paperclip]” just to make him be quiet- after all, he’s never going to visit my school or meet Paperclip or anything, right? So he starts singing the name loudly. While ice skating. Then I’m in jazz band and the whole jazz band is asking me the same question and I WON’T tell them because Paperclip is in jazz band. Then my band director pulls out the video.

My band director hooks it up to a projector and the whole jazz band (including paperclip) sees me saying, “Okay fine, his name is [paperclip], will you shut up now? and my cousin saying “[PAPERCLIP PAPERCLIP PAPERCLIP AGENT LIGHTNING LIKES PAPERCLIP AL HAS A CRUSH ON PAPERCLIP] And everyone says “Seriously, AL? [Paperclip]? Seriously?” and then Paperclip won’t make eye contact with me for the rest of the day/week/month/year/century/universe.
Last night I had two dreams. In the first dream, I’m sitting in my garage rummaging through cardboard boxes with Spam (my old enemy/rival who wasted her entire elementary school carreer [she goes to a different middle school] trying to be popular and ended up almost ruining my friendship with Odie {looooong story there} and accusing me of accusing her of having a bad singing voice [really I was accusing myself.] and then went to a different middle school so I never have to see her again.) So we’re rummaging through cardboard boxes of paint in my garage, and she finds a gun and tries to kill me. I woke up when my legs wouldn’t move as she was chasing me through the park.
Then I went back to sleep and dreamed a Doctor Who/Narnia crossover.

I had an EPIC dream that I was a Planeteer. (It was the strangest thing, I haven’t even thought about Captain Planet for years.) I don’t know if my teammates were the other kids from the show, but the bad guys we were fighting were different, and one of them had an empty Mayonnaise jar for a head. Anyway, I was the Antarctic Planeteer, and, unsurprisingly, my ring had the power to control ice. (This is actually weird, because when I was little and I watched the show, I would pretend to be an Australian with an electricity ring.)
Seriously, though, I was kicking so much butt, and I saved this guy from drowning, and there was this fight in a hot-air balloon… it was awesome.

In it, I went to visit my friend, and he had this odd loft bedroom that I can best describe as “grey” (which he doesn’t). There was a sign on the door saying “Go away or suffer the curse of Cthulhu, pusillanimous toad!” or some such allusion. It used the word pusillanimous, at least. I said, “What if I’m his best friend, idiot?” It was bizarre. There was also a dragon-man.
The second dream is from last night. I dreamed that I, my mom, and a 8-year-old African-American girl I don’t know were being chased all over the world by guys in bowler hats who wanted a magical blue gem and a book related to it that the girl had. I have no clue why my mom and I were doing this. It was very weird. We stopped in Lithuania, Madagascar, Chicago, and Latin America. It was bizarre.

He began copy and pasting a set of extremely complicated rules to a game we all had to play, while I kept trying to make him notice that I was muselover. All of a sudden, I got an email from someone asking if I knew POSOC. I answered yes. He said, “Do you know what he really is?” I said no, and asked what. I never got an answer.

in December 13th, 2011 @ 12:58I had dreams last night! And I remembered them! This is An Event for me.
In the first one, I was reading the paper and one of the stories was about a person called Grant O. being arrested for some series of heinous crimes. I don’t remember what exactly, but they were pretty heinous. Then there was another story about some people somewhere doing charitable work, and for some reason it mentioned that their house was decorated with pies and squids, and I thought to myself, “That has to be Jadestone.”
The second dream was a bit more complex and not MB-related. I was staying in some old haunted-looking mansion with a couple other people. At some point the dream switched over to something like a video game, wherein you had to keep balloons from being stolen by some flying creatures. Anyway, one of the flying creatures stole one of my two companions in the house, and the one girl that was left was pretty devastated. So anyway, I took her for a walk. At some point she had two or three glasses of wine, so she was slightly intoxicated, but not extravagantly so. I remember we walked by some pretty grotesque-looking bus crash. It was weird.
But two remembered dreams in one night! That might be a new record.

They were supposed to do this thing where they had a script of a play, and each visitor was reading one character’s part, and each astronaut (there were two onscreen) was reading for another character, and it looked pretty cool, but something happened and they had to stop halfway through.
I don’t know what happened next, but somehow, I ended up talking to Ellison Onizuka about how annoying Mary Sues were. He agreed with me.
It was a pretty cool dream!

The heroine, who I will call Belle just because I don’t remember her real name, was Jewish. She was celebrating a holiday, I think, because she was eating, and all of her food was shaped like Stars of David for some reason. She lived with her mother instead of her father. She lived in a city instead of a village. It was a modern city, too.
Anyway, the Beast must have wanted exercise, because he was out for a walk in the city for some reason. How he managed to do that without being noticed, I have no idea. Anyway, he saw “Belle” and immediately fell in love with her. She refused. He kept asking, several times, like in the original fairy-tale, but she wouldn’t give in. Finally, he decided he’d have to find out how to lure her to his castle. He somehow discovered (maybe by stalking? I don’t remember) that if he took her boyfriend to the castle, she’d take his place. The Beast kidnapped her boyfriend (I don’t know why he didn’t just take “Belle”), and she rescued him, but she had to stay there forever. It was an amazing castle, with lots of colorful carpets and so on, but there were no servants to make her comfortable or give him advice on how not to act like a monster. She didn’t refuse to come to dinner, which was delicious. Belle somehow learned to trust him anyway, partly because there was no West Wing (although that did mean no life-saving), but she never fell in love with him. Unlike the musical, he made no secret about wanting to fall in love with him, although he didn’t ask her to marry him every single night like the fairy tale. They didn’t get past the “barely even friends” stage. The Beast liked tearing up books to vent. He had a collection. Belle discovered it and went BOOKS YAY, basically. Then he had to explain things… I don’t envy him. She begged him to give her some books, at least, and he relented. For some reason, he wanted at some point to show her how he tore them up, and she realized it was only the covers she damaged, which didn’t matter to her anyway, so she could still read the books he tears and he could still tear the books she reads, so they were all happy. Then a green dwarf–yes, really–came. He was a friend of the Beast’s, and he’d come to say that Belle’s mother really missed her. They noticed some really funny signs that the Beast had hung up, too. Also, some of his relatives came over. They were nice, but they ate rat sandwiches. Belle tried one to be polite because the dream version was a major Mary Sue, and it actually wasn’t that bad.

in February 18th, 2012 @ 12:17I had a dream last night that I was standing on a beach with a bunch of people (maybe my soccer team and our families), just hanging out, when a rocket ship that looked a little like an Apollo Command/Service Module took off somewhere to the left of us. We were watching it go up, but then it seemed to be buffeted by the wind, so it came down, then it powered and went up again, then it did that up/down cycle a few more times. The last time, it seemed to escape whatever was bothering it and take off through the clouds, but the next thing we knew, it was falling again and it fell into the ocean. Everybody was upset, of course. The last thing I remember thinking is “I have to get on MuseBlog. Kai will be so overwrought right now.”

Then my dream shifted. I was a toy version of Mrs. Potts outwardly, but I was a child inwardly–a very young child. My 2 best friends were male leaves. We played. It was fun.

in February 18th, 2012 @ 13:05I dreamed last night that I was ice-skating in an otherwise empty rink, and suddenly I looked down to find, right under the clear layer of ice, the MuseBlog. As in, I was skating on top of the Random Thready. Suddenly the rink was infinitely large- just a huge expanse of ice- and I was skating over a very long comment by Fiddler, whose avatar was more than five feet across.
Then the ice melted away under my feet and I fell into the ‘Blog. Suddenly I was in a twisted, weirdly shaped space where all the surfaces were sort of ethereal and made out of old threads. All the other ‘Bloggers were wandering around in this weird zombie-like state. That is when I woke up.
Blog-ception? It was actually kind of scary.

in February 18th, 2012 @ 14:20I dreamed that my entire class… I guess we were on vacation or something and we slept in sleeping bags on a misty beach with a lighthouse. Going back, I had to go through airport security, except it was sorted by which nationality you said you were. I was with Padma Patil, who was wearing a purple sari, because the Hogwarts class of ’98 was joining us in the park. I was friends with her and considered going through the Indian control with her because I knew a few phrases of Hindi, enough to fake it and I thought it might be faster. But I decided to go through the international/American one after all- where I nice lady just let me walk through the gate which led to the UN cafeteria and after that I met up with Padma again. We were in a park close to school, but then someone came and told us that we were going to be camping in the park in front of the school instead. We were going to sleep on the tennis tables, since they were somehow bigger now and there were four of them, so we were sorting by Hogwarts house- since Padma and I both already identified as Ravenclaws, we could head over and occupy the Ravenclaw table right away, since so far only M. and T. (from my class) had set up the Gryffindor table so we had second pick and could decide on which side we wanted to be. Everything was still a little bit chaotic since none of us had had any prior experience or training to be bums, but every class had a destiny and it was our turn to live in the park and frighten people with our homelessness. But we were all pretty eager and had warm sleeping bags. We were all pretty pysched.
This was the best dream I’ve had in ages…

And I went to their wedding and I was sitting next to The Doctor and we wentinto the TARDIS and he had a nyan cat and everyone ate bacon the food and not the person and I played dodgeball agianst slytherin and we were in the common room and we all started diving into a huge melted candle and making wax molds of our self, andPeeta mellark proposed to one of my friends, yhen another friend who I actually ship with her starts to bawl and curls ip on a ball were Nepeta comforts him… and I’m sorry thos keuboard is so shiny, and yhen river and karkat start waltzing and the Doctor snogs bacon. And i woke up i the drea and ate breatfast in the great hal and when i walked out into thschool cafeteeia and i turn aroumd and see the TARDIS and then i ate some caamel craers and i have no caing idea what that is, amd then Twilight Sparkle comes over and screams, LETS HAVE ADVENTURES amd I was in the adventure theme.

in February 22nd, 2012 @ 13:22A few nights ago I dreamed that I was driving back to my dorm from church, as I do every week, when I decide to take one of the side roads, just to see what it’s like. As I turn the corner onto the side road, I briefly glance at the sign–it said “[something] NWR”, and it took me a second to remember that NWR stands for National Wildlife Refuge. It turns out this side road turns immediately into a single-lane bridge that was preposterously long, and rather dangerous in spots. At times the bridge wasn’t so much a roadway as two parallel planks you had to balance on. I decided to just drive fast to get it over with. Eventually I get to the end (a dead end) and manage to turn around and go back safely. I don’t remember exactly how it fits in, but in my dream I do some research on this wildlife refuge, and it turns out it was made in the 1930s or so to house animals that had some kind of supernatural nature about them. For instance, I was reading the journal of a farmer from the early ’40s and he said that a certain bird sat in one place and stared at him for an entire night. Just creepy things like that. It was surreal, and I felt creeped out for a while after I woke up.

I had an incredibly creepy dream a few years ago, as in I still suppress a shiver when I think about it levels of creepy. I think I might’ve posted it before, but not in much detail.
At the dream’s beginning, I was in the den at my grandparents’ cottage with some other family members. We were getting ready to watch a movie. One of my uncles- from the other side of the family, oddly- was there, and he was explaining some of what happened in the movie to us, since he’d seen it before. When the movie began, I saw it in third person, though the den had vanished and I was viewing it from within the movie-world. I was still myself, and kept wondering when a certain scene my uncle had mentioned was going to happen, but I never felt disturbed by the movie’s events.
The main character was a young boy with black hair, who was the son of a professor. They lived together in a large house in the country, seemingly in the past, though I’m not sure when. The boy was happy until one day his father hired an assistant to help him with his work. The assistant seemed nice at first, but began threatening the boy while the professor suspected nothing. Eventually the assistant attacked the boy, almost killing him. The professor found his son unconscious and desperately employed some of his new medical disocoveries to save his life. After hours of surgery, the boy emerged from the operating room. He had been saved, but at a price. He was wrapped head to foot in white mummy-like bandages, with only his eyes showing, round and pupilless and glowing green. A long tube- some kind of breathing apparatus- stuck out from his mouth. None of this could ever be removed. “Father was clever to save me when my arm was ripped off… and my head,” said the living mummy.
Then the movie jumped forward to the scene I had so anticipated. The boy was shipwrecked at sea. He washed up alone on the beach of a deserted island. He felt, for some reason, that he needed to remove his bandages. Beneath, his skin was dark grey and slimy. His eyes still glowed.

in February 23rd, 2012 @ 14:44Last nightt I dreamed that Paperclip asked to copy my homework. I, being smitten with him, obliged, and then immmediately regretted it, spending the rest of the dream in a state of panic until, much to my relief, the dream ended.
In the next dream, the band had been asked to play at an important event. We were all set up on stage, but Paperclip wasn’t there, nor was the other trombonist. I had to learn the trombone 1 part, which consisted mostly of high G’s and A’s, when in fact I barely knew the song in the first place. When I woke up, I was much relieved.
In the third dream, I was on some sort of Starfleet ship. The crew was looking for something, or perhaps just cruising around on the ground, when we happened upon some salt marshes. Our specialist went to go look for something, and through a lot of chaos ended up dying. Then some strange sea creature rose up and declared itself our god. The specialist, as I said, died, but some scrolling credits across the screen and a disembodied voice kindly reminded us that this was a sci-fi show, anything could happen, and for now we should write fanfics about what we think really happened to her until her inevitable reappearance in the next season.
A few nights ago I dreamed that I was taking a tour of my old elementary school. Down the hallway thre was a massive Kokon. I asked my mom to let me join them and she let me for ten minutes. (It was only after I had woken up that I realized I might have been crashing a party.) So I walked over and I was all, “Hey guys, I’m here!” It was great.
Then I went on a field trip with my school and we were visiting this brewery where illegal alcohol and explosives were made and then stored in large barns. I was in a group with Paperclip and a really annoying popular person from our school.
John and Hank Green, our tour guides, instructed us to, while still in the storage barn, light cigarettes and throw them onto flammable substances on the count of three. (We were assured that there would be plenty of time to safely escape the barn.) On the count of three, I simply threw my unlit cigarette onto the ground and tried to get the cake out of there. Unfortunately, I had to wait for my group members, who were taking their own sweet time igniting the bootlegged alcohol as well as bales of dried out hay and carelessly strewn barrels of gasoline. Then we repeated thd process, but in a barn with firecrackers.

in February 25th, 2012 @ 07:53SFTDP: New dream. This is probably boring to read, but I feel the urge to post and it beats trying to tell my family about it, seeing as they would get up and walk away halfway through.
Last night, I dreamed that my friend’s homeschool co-op was putting on a production, and I was invited to be in it. However, they seemed to think I wouldn’t need to go to any rehearsals or know who I was playing, so during the performance I just ran around and tried to stay out of trouble.
As the show was doing its final musical number, I went backstage were people were also dancing, and I wondered why people should be dancing if they couldn’t be seen on stage. Just in case, I started dancing, too.
At the end of the show, my dad (who was wearing these pajama pants that I am currently sewing for myself; I ran out the door in shame when I saw how badly the pants had turned out) took my sister and I away in our car.
Another girl from the production was there, as well as our cat, and another cat, which we were all calling a dog for some reason. I was scared that it had rabies or something, since nobody would tell me where it came from, but I assume it didn’t.
The girl from the production pretty much begged us to go to this frozen yogurt shop where the rest of the cast was meeting, but we kept getting lost.
Later, I figured out what all the dogs were about: it was some sort of Dog Appricieation Day, and the dogs (who, for some reason, grew from fleas that appeared in the air instead of how dogs are normally made) were being appricieated, cared for, and adopted. The whole neighborhood had dressed up for the occasion- and by this I mean that people had dressed their houses up as dogs.
I’ve been dreaming a lot lately and I’m not sure quite why, but I like it because I like my dreams.

in February 25th, 2012 @ 13:03I dreamed that MuseBlog bought another mansion (why was I never informed that we had a mansion?!).
So there were many MuseBloggers (I recall Keiffer and a guy whose pseudonym starts with ‘M’?) rushing around trying to figure out what to do with our supplies. That being said, our supplies consisted mostly of varieties of sweets, like colorful sugary marshmallows shaped like chicks but not named “Peeps” (none were pink), millions of tiny chocolate pieces with pictures of cars and stars and galaxies and nebulae and tardigrades and maps and bicycles and compasses and all sorts of interesting steampunk (I think) gadgets each about a square centimeter wide and tasting like dark chocolate, Valentine sets with fake roses in pretty glass vases of greenness and green angel-shaped gummies and other such lovely items, extra milk chocolate Easter Eggs with a rainbow of shiny wrapping colors, huge bags of the assortments of Halloween candy which included Reese’s and Hershey’s and Milky Way and Twix and a lot lot more, etc. (I am surprised to not recall any squidlike objects). Our way of figuring out what to with the supplies was, of course, nom nom nomming, which was great because I seem to have some sense of taste in dreams. What we didn’t devour, we stored away to devour later. I think someone was on the phone with Robert because our wonderful GAPA was worried we would eat it all immediately.
It was heaven. I was annoyed when my mom woke me up.

That’s all the dream was, was me looking her up on Wikipedia and seeing “Died because of a hit from a giant pie” and me thinking “well, that’s not a bad way to go”.
I have no idea what to make of this.

in March 9th, 2012 @ 01:46I had a really confusing/disturbing dream last night. The whole thing was taking place in the elementary school building. It started with a choir of girls, many of whom I recognized because they were once my campers, practicing for a performance. Then we went over the the costume rack where these very pretty navy blue satin dresses with matching fur around the necks were hanging. But what was weird was that the dresses were designated for religion x and the girls singing were all religion y, so why would they wear the other religion’s performance clothes? Then we went to the lunch room and one of my current teachers was there and I tried asking her about the dress thing, but other people kept asking her things so I never got the chance.
Then the dream shifted a bit and suddenly there was a fire. Everyone was evacuating the building, but a class of little kids got stuck in the building. In the end they were rescued, but I remember seeing a few being put into ambulances.
Then I was standing in a kitchen by the sink with a baby. A voice in the backround said something about SIDs and how the mother of the stricken baby was unable to wash her child before burial because it almost seemed like she was drowning the child. And somehow I was that mother and I felt like I was torn apart inside and I was blinded by tears. I handed the baby to someone and then ran and ran and I ended up at the elementary building again but the part of the building I was in was now gutted and under construction (perhaps from the earlier fire?). I stood there staring at the square hole in the wood which would later be a window, but I couldn’t stand right next to it because there was a deep space about 5 feet wide between me and it. And then this guy appeared who commented that he hoped they would finish this up soon because it is supposed to be the new gym and they have a game soon.

in March 10th, 2012 @ 06:27I think I find that as I get older, I dream more and more about real life, specifically details from the previous day that I would not have remembered otherwise.
I just woke up from a fabulous dream in which, among other things, Randomosity101 bestowed presents on each of my sisters. My youngest sister got a Rosetta Stone curriculum thing for learning Swahili. Then my eleven year old sister got, I think, some sort of gold bricks on Minecraft. She later dumped them in a hole. She kept saying that they had been given to her by a friend at school named “Ossity”.
Also, this sister recieved from R101 a bunch of Thursday Night Opera DVD’s.
This is all made up of little details from my life.
-On the way to Fake MPA on Thursday, my mom switched on the radio, and I heard maybe one second of Thursday Night Opera before she changed it to something else.
-The whole “throwing away treasure” thing was from the Doctor Who episode that I watched last night.
-In jazz rehearsal yesterday, Paperclip referenced the fact that he knows Swahili.
-It was my sister’s birthday recently. She turned eleven and got many presents from friends at school.

that’s weird! she had that dream after she went on a healh-diet and she explained in her dream she was at a party and all of her relatives were there. everyone was eating things she couldn’t have (the diet remember?) and she was taking bites out of her glasses and thinking “is this nutricious?”

Also, last night I had a really complicated dream, but it was a lot of fun.
Somebody locked me in a closet with a bunch of zombified teenage girls who were all wearing hot pink. They kept rushing at me the way zombies and creepers do in Minecraft, but I killed them all by poking holes in them. It was fun but pretty exhausting.

in March 26th, 2012 @ 19:33My dreams have become both dramatically more frequent and more people-oriented recently. Already I have had three dreams just this year! Three! In as many months! I never dream more than once a year, if that! And they were all about people, real people that my sleeping brain didn’t just make up to populate the dream! And they weren’t nightmares. Up ’till now, about 80% of my dreams involving real people have been nightmares. (Though, interestingly, none of my MB – related dreams have been anything other than wonderful.) Oh, and one was actually a recurring daydream I like to have, rendered in dream form. Which is also a first. I have no idea how to interpret this.

in March 30th, 2012 @ 13:13I had a really nice dream a few nights ago. I think it involved the Hunger Games, and some sort of jungle path, and sand blocks like in Minecraft. Also, there were some sort of houses that we stopped in along the jungle path and we learned about LotR and all the rings. It was quite pleasant. When I got home, I discovered that my sister had bought me a Hunger Games t-shirt and some rather distasteful plaid shorts to go with it.

in April 27th, 2012 @ 20:34i once dreamed about this girl who was friends with an albino lion with black tiger stripes (a liger) and a living car named mansion. the girl was captured on a train and she was walking along the back of the car trying to find a way out. when suddenly the white liger was there and it hugged her and said “i sure hate to see you this way” and the car honked it’s horn and she turned around and there was Mansion the car. then a bunch of people holding crocidiles came and the liger kkilled them all and then i woke up!

Alice in Wonderland theme. Although, with some Wicked mixed in: Glinda did give me pie. And squids made of felt.
While walking around, I met bookgirl and we talked and talked and talked about something intelligent, I can’t remember what but it was awesome.
The dance floor was chessboarded. There was a lot of candy to devour.
I have great dreams.

in May 7th, 2012 @ 14:26A few weeks ago, on a Wednesday evening, one of my teachers brought in the movie Defiance to wathc as a sort of intro into Yom Ha’Sho’ah – Holocaust Rememberance Day in Israel. I don’t know how many of you have seen it. It is about two hours long and all I could manage to say afterward was, “Whoa…” I was literally speechless, that’s how good it was. It is incredibly well done and emotional. We started watching at around 10:00pm and finished at midnight.
I mention this prelude because all I dreamed that night was Defiance. I was there, in the movie, reliving it the entire night. Not exactly the most pleasant experience. I remember waking up and thinking, “I guess this is really appropriate for Holocaust Rememberance Day, but I’m miserable.” And then closer to morning, when the dream seemed to finally be ending, it switched to this horrific thing of being in the passenger seat of my neighbor’s big gray 15 seater van and someone strange (and evil) was driving it into school and then driving it up over sidewalks and through crosswalks, running kids over and I couldn’t do anything but yell, “STOP!!!” and pray that people weren’t being hit because I was strapped in too tightly.
Suffice to say that I did not get much sleep that night.

in May 15th, 2012 @ 16:20Have I already told you guys about the dream with the mathematical functions wearing red and blue bathing? Because I could’ve sworn I posted it here at some point… Eh, never mind. It didn’t involve world domination anyway.
Last night I dreamed that I was somehow taking a walk with my old family in a semi-tropical area (my family as they were when I was 10 years old) and at some point, my I-pod shuffle and some sort f olive-green, roundish electronic device that was also important to me fell into the lagoon. I retrieved the olive-colored thing first, since I trusted my I-pod to hold out longer against the water, then dived back down to get it. The shuffle wasn’t in very deep water (10 ft or so), but it was all tangled in a big old cast-iron propellor that was mildly beset by fungus. I was up to my elbow in the machine untangling the headphones said I-pod, but very determined and not at all afraid. At some point, my dad dived down with scuba gear and offered me the octopus (i.e., the spare regulator), but I turned him down- I would do this on my own and I didn’t need his help. Pretty soon, I freed the I-pod, swam to the surface and woke up.

in May 15th, 2012 @ 17:16I had a dream last night that John Lennon hadn’t been shot and killed but instead lived until the present time. But he died (of old age I guess) in the time my dream occurred. I was absolutely devastated when my dad told me, and I went through my drawers and found a t-shirt that had been signed by all the members of the Beatles. I wore that and a different Beatles shirt for the rest of the week.
I woke up in the night and remembered thinking, “Thank goodness, this is only a dream.†Two seconds later I remembered that in real life Lennon had been murdered and had not died of natural causes and I didn’t have a shirt signed by all of the Beatles.
And then my dream changed abruptly to my friend describing how she had to wake up at 2 a.m. to get ready for school.

in May 15th, 2012 @ 19:43A few days ago I cried myself to sleep (depression relapse) and then had a bizarre dream, the only part of which that I can remember was running around and between tables in some generic cafeteria. They were the kind with attached seating in the form of three round stools on either side of the table. They were grey with green stool-tops. There was nobody else in the cafeteria, but I was running like I was being chased by someone – as a game. I was laughing. When I woke up I was in a much better mood than when I had gone to sleep.
