Life, the universe, pies, hot-pink bunnies, world domination, and everything
ooh, who made that? I really like the bubbles though I’m not that big a fan of the pink.
Second post on the random thread!
Sorry to double post.
I didn’t see the pictire. That water doesn’t look so fine.
Augh, my eyes. Is that a Chihuly piece or what?
No, that’s a Lady Bunniful original. Talk about horrors of the deep!
(1) Oh, well, it’s hard to make Hot Pink Bunnies without pink.
Ah, ice cream. I’m currently having rasberru sorbet and chocolat at the same time.
Oh, wondrful news.
1. Just today l created the worlds most wonderful sandwich. (Second best if you’re gimanator)
2. The leader of the jerks clique is changing schools. Let me explain some background of the posse-
Max- Veeery creepy. He has an earing. He’s homophobic and rascist. He also has very negative leadership skills. He’s like me turned inside out.
Blake and Gabe- Toadies. Want to be in the iraq war. Don’t tallk much.
Kyle- Can’t read and thinks he’s a gangsta despite being racsist. about 4’5″
Cody- Poster child for jerk monthly.
Eric- The baddest mormon on the face of the earth.
Aubert and Shawn- Decent kids turned bad by max.
You see what l put up with? Fortunately, Max is leaving school!
Either few people are moderating, or l’m the only one on.
Yeah, l need more to do. GAPAs, how do you do your day jobs?
Lady Bunniful, you have surpassed yourself!!
8-ah, yes, kyle. The boy with the anger problems. Much like my other friend. I have heard of kyle. Tell me more. Plus, It’s I, man-gator, And thanks for the credit towards my three section sandwhich. (Note: I was never able to eat it all in one sitting)
8-sounds fun. didja say goodbye?
Whoa, dude!!! As soon as I saw that, I knew it was another one of Lady Bunniful’s Marvelous Creations! The bunnies praise you, Rebecca!
:idea::idea::idea: etc.
Don’t forget, dressing up as a bush is a great way to get free pizza!
Awesome picture, Rebecca!
I love it! Especially the bubbles – they’re flamablamablous!
That’s intense, but so beautiful!
In response to part one:
341 ~ I don’t wear makeup…
345 ~ except for plays. I do my own makeup for plays because if I let the actual makeup people do it I end up looking like a scary doll.
349 ~ I love the Golden Compass. I’ve read that trilogy at least three times.
351 ~ I own lip gloss. I just don’t wear it. But some of my friends do. I wear eyeliner like…once a month. (Literally. xD)
371 ~ Let’s see, I read
Muse
New Moon
The New York Times
The New Yorker
-local newspaper that has nothing on the Times except comics-
…I think that’s it.
And I’m not sure if I’ve ever taken pre-algebra. In sixth grade I just took math since it was the only option. xD Seventh grade advanced math was called compressed math, since it was seventh and eighth in one year. I think eighth grade honors was Algebra I, and this year is Geometry Honors. It’s really easy so far.
I think the caption should say: “Go on, drink it down. It’s GOOD for you.”
It is, Robert?
I’d dive in! I’M a fan of the pink! >.
I dont have any homework to do!!!! This is a rare day!!! Oh my gosh though, some of our teachers hate us, they are like holding grudges or something, its wierd. We had two get mad at us today (and we didnt do anything except talk, adn they didnt say anything to us about that, plus, we were talking because we were studying!) and one yesterday. *sigh* And it isnt even me, except for when we were studying.
18-But of course…*gulp*…ahhh…*twitch, jump*…*eyes turn a delightful shade of hot pink*…bunnnnniieeeeessss…buuuuunnnniiiiiieeessssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MY COMMENT GOT CUT OFFF
grrr.
OWOWOW. stupid shots…
meningitis, chicken pox booster, and Gardasil. Contrary to popular belief, *coughcoughpentycoughcough* Gardasil was the one that hurt the least. The meningitis is SORE, tho.
I have way too much homework, and the Lit homework requires a book that I don’t even have.
The pic is cool! What filters did you use, LB?
I got a tetanus shot last month, due to the fact that A. the one I had gotten 11 years previously only was supposed to last 10 years and B. I stepped on a broken glass bottle with my bare foot while walking through the forest. So my arm was sore for several days.
12- Yeah, serious anger issues. Lets see… today he kept insulting C++D, but in sort of a mock serious way. He had his hand on his shoulder, and when he finished, l told C++D he would have to wash that shirt.
13- No, but l would have liked to.
22- I feel extremely bad for you. I got my 2nd Gardasil shot today (for those of you that don’t know, it’s a series of three shots). I got the first one the same day I got a tetanus shot, though.
I haven’t had a shot since I had just left elementary school I think. I haven’t really been to the doctor since then, actually.
alright…so who here has a facebook?
[Let’s not start that subject again, please. — Admin.]
6- I didn’t mean in the piece (HPBs *are* pink) but in general. Pink’s not my favorite. It can be pretty in lots of things; it’s just not my favorite.
18- haha, yes.
24- ah, yes. C++D should react like he beleived what the other person was saying. That species of jerk has not evolved to react to it properly, it’s very humorous.
(22) Kiki, mostly I used the Liquify filter on a photo of a watercolor. My first experiments didn’t look to promising, but I kept adding layers. Today I worked on refining some of my techniques, so maybe I’ll give this basic idea another shot later on.
If you want to give it a try, my starting point was the mirror tool in Liquify. Moving the brush point in a circular motion created a bubble area. Some light touches with “bloat” and “pucker” made it look more three dimensional. Various other tools created the splashes. I brushed on the lighting effects, each round added in a new layer.
(And, yes, it’s irritating, but “liquify” is how Adobe spells the name of the filter.)
30 ~ Are those all photoshop tools? (My real question is whether it’s expensive. Heh heh.)
(31) Yes, it was done in Photoshop which is, sad to say, expensive, though sometimes you can find deals on older versions. But there are lots of decent graphics programs out there at much more reasonable prices.
whoah!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome pic!!
Well. I am sad. Today is September 11. It’s sad thinking about what happened today those few years ago. I guess that all there is to do is to pray for the families of the victums and the soldiers that are fighting at this very moment.
34-yeah, in core today. My class listened to a song by a girl, who I think was in elementary school, but it was about how a girl lost her father in 9/11. It didn’t rhym, but it was touching…
I had a tetanus shot a few years ago, but I had to get zillions of vaccines when I went to South Africa – typhoid was the worst. Bit I haven’t had any for awhile. Except I think I had the Gardasil one or whatever you call it…but I’m not positive.
We had a moment of silence for 9/11 today and we talked about it in World Cultures. It actually got quite annoying because our principal kept calling it nine-one-one instead of nine-eleven, but oh well. Apparantly the death toll for 9/11 went up one more last week, because someone died from lung cancer which they got from the air/fumes.
Rebecca – you, I have to say, are the most talented computer-person I know. How long did it take you to learn all of the photoshop and computer graphics stuff?
Ooo, lovely thread picture.
20,000 Lagomorphs Under the Sea…
My school did nothing for 9/11. Rather saddening. Even if you hate the actions taken, real people died. I can respect and mourn that.
Grant does.
Photoshop is very fun. Some time ago I used it to make a poster for a presumed Internet show my friend and I were thinking of starting. We never really got on it, but the poster is powerful enough to hurt your eyes. It’s got several cool effects, but I’m not going to email it now because it’s on the main computer and I’m using my laptop.
I have nothing to say about 9/11. Absolutely nothing about the fact that it’s now called “Patriot Day,” which name suggests that it’s now a holiday. Nothing whatsoever to say about numerous other things on the subject.
Does anyone here have the Dangerous Book for Boys? That is one of my favorite books. Although right now its only use is assisting in propping up the screen of my laptop, it contains much useful information.
37-That sounds like it would make a good song.
38- Yeah, but l don’t really like it.
38- it has a little ribon in my planer. I was like what is that about? intill i realied it was 9/11.
39- What are you talking about? You mean to tell me you don’t even like the famous battles section? What sort of boy are you, Trevor? Are you Trevor the Vampire, come back from sbemail 10 to mock manliness at its core?
38~ “The Dangerous Book for Boys” keeps popping up in Amazon, but I’ve got no idea what it’s about. It’s got a cool title though. Ah well, I’m a girl, so it doesn’t really matter.
I didn’t do anything for 9/11, most of today I was cleaning my room. So, I guess I could say I could feel for the people that I could feel for the people that helped clean up….
At my school, one of the history teachers made a video for 9/11 that he showed at the beginning or every class period. He invited the other teachers to bring their classes down to the auditorium for it if they wanted to. Only problem was they didn’t organize their class-taking very well…so I ended up seeing it 3 times. It was pretty good though, the first time anyway.
42- I haven’t read it, but from interviews with the author I’d say it’s a book with instructions on how to do fun boy-ish things they just don’t teach you anymore, like building a treehouse or skinning a rabbit.
41- Ummm… Vampire? What? “Searches” No, l don’t admire strongbad… l hardly even know of him. l’m not gay or sissie, but l’m not super manly. lt’s okay, but not the best book in the world.
9:16, California time. Part of one of the “dead spots” on museblog. No MBers, no GAPAs, only me.
46- Hey, you’re not alone. >shouts in Korean….
Um…that should be “my roommate shouts in Korean”
not some sort of random outburst of my own. o_O
I’m on the internet at school! Gasp! We’re allowed, but not on inapproprite sites. I hope the school doesn’t decide to be a poopyhead and call this inapropriate. This computer spell checks everything and it says I just spelled inappropriate wrong twice but I don’t want to fix it. I get out in about 5 minutes. I haven’t been posting much because of school so sorry to everyone, especially the RRRs.
49-ninja proxy is life
i spent most of torch playing tetris. ’twas fun. Also i went down to the band room to get my entertainment books to sell and awkwardly wandered into the middle of a middle school (haha) rehearsal. Little kids stare like crazy. They’ve got the attention span of…well, come to think of it, high schoolers. XD
If you have NO money, check out The Gimp. It’s a full-featured graphics program, and it’s open source, so you just download it and use it. It has most of the features of the professional packages. The user interface isn’t as nice and friendly as the big boys, but it’s useable.
42- It’s a guidebook with the intentions of getting boys aged 7-12 off the computer/tv/ds/psp and into the great outdoors to buld treehouses and tie knots, etc. etc.
I am now obsessed with drawing these little cartoon dinosaur/lizard thingies I made up. I’m just finishing a drawing now.
I GOT A NEW CHARGER FOR MY PHONE WEWT.
45- “l’m not gay or sissie, but l’m not super manly.” err…. what? Not all gay people are not “manly” in the stereotypical sense.
51- that sounds cool, Paul! Though if I used any graphics program I’d probably get confused and have to go get help from Lady Bunniful or Penty or someone…
Jadestone and Gwendolyn of the Eastern Seas, please report to “No, this is pie war”
38- The Dangerous Book for Boys? It was mentioned in a fairly recent issue of TIME about the current status of young male Americans. Sounds quite interesting. Very British, and very mischeivous. I’d like to read it myself sometime, although I am a girl. Or at least, I was the last time I checked…
55- there is a girl one coming out.
(55) I don’t see how girls can resist reading it.
Guess what! I am now a stalker. No joke. My acting assignment is to stalk someone for two weeks, observe how they carry themselves, and then imitate them and the rest of the class has to guess who I am.
The trouble is, I never see this person outside of acting class.
I wonder who’s stalking ME . . .
Re: shots. I had two when I was a baby, I think. Polio and something else. And then when I was five I got a tetanus shot.
And that about sums it up. Yup.
Freshman Transitions is BORING! Today we watched part of a movie about some kid who fell in love with this depressed girl, and then he became depressed (not because of her), and suicidal, and they were running away on the kid’s scooter when we had to stop the movie. It was so boring, I didn’t even watch half the time, but doodled on the edge of my paper.
There’s a kid in acting class named Grant O. It’s really weird. I’m positive it isn’t the MuseBlogger, because he doesn’t look like him and he’s a Freshman, but it’s still kind of creepy . . .
58-haha, we do that in our theater classes…/i don’t take them, but people always complain about it
So today in chem jacob and i were saying “jesus christus” (the spanish way…heysoos chreestoos) because it’s something we used to say all the time…i think freshman year…so we were bringing it back. Then we were talking about how we have thursday off (haha, yesss) and how weird it is because we’ll wake up friday and think it’s the weekend. I said “yeah, i’m going to wake up friday at like ten in the morning because i think it’s the weekend and just go JESUS CHRISTUS I’M LATE” and the last bit came out REALLY loud, even though i didn’t mean it to be that loud. Flores was probably looking at me weirdly but right at that moment the bell rang so i basically ran away it was pretty funny though. Oh, and i said it in an italian accent (why italian, idk. it was spanish. but whatev)
Also highlight of day, in brit lit we listened to floyd’s wish you were here and talked about it. and that’s basically all we did. and in ap l/c we watched part of the wonder years and talked about urban legends. aah, hemmelgarn.
i told everybody the urban legend from muse about the pigeons riding subways
55~ Yeah, sounds fun. I’m weird that way, I’ve always been a tomboy. I don’t really wnt to skin rabbits, though, I’m vegitarian.
There’s a girl one coming out? Hmm, I wonder if it’s all how to sew and curtsy and suchlike. If it is I’d get the boy’s one.
There was a kid in Spanish class who asked to be called Jesus. The teacher let him, but next class he changed his mind and when the teacher asked him what his Spanish name had been he said Zorro. I guess she was too preoccupied to think twice about it because she seemed pretty surprised today when he said his Spanish name was Zorro.
I got lower braces and an upper retainer, and l’m in a very bad mood.
59- Eerie.
64- Indeed.
Is he a fraction as cool as I am?
wow.
im going to a charter school. heres some math.
chart+er+[homework]=
ERROR!! CAN NOT COMPUTE!!
(it means theres no homework!! :-0)
p.s. yes i am a fairy princess. next in line for the throne.
58- That movie sounds bad. And depressing…
67/68- Are you new? *pies*
68-*pies*
I love the artwork. *splash!*
63-I’m due for them soon.
L’SHANAH TOVAH EVERYBODY!
-dr. nick-
wewt no school for me! But sadly I am missing a day of school and they HAD to schedule the Student Council elections today… pewp.
I got the golden shovel in Animal Crossing DS! Yay me!
34-38 et cetera ~ We discussed 9/11 in global, too, and had a moment of silence in the morning (although we have one every day anyway). It’s always really sad to think about and I remember those couple of days so clearly.
38 ~ It’s called Patriot Day? Since when?
My cousins got the Dangerous Book for Boys for their dad’s birthday when we were in Michigan but we all left too soon after that for me to get a chance to read it.
51 ~ I think I have that but I’ve never used it.
52 ~ I don’t even have a phone. -sniffle- Well, not a cell.
56/57 ~ But the boy one sounds so interesting. The boy one is pretty stereotypical, so I can assume the girl one will be like “How to knit” or do embroidery or something. I already know how to sew anyway though. xD
58 ~ That’s the most awesome assignment ever. I wish they offered an acting class for freshmen.
62 ~ My friend’s brother’s name is Chris but in middle school or something he decided there were too many Chrises so he decided to change his name to Christ (pronounced like Chris with a t at the end). He wrote it on a paper for school and his teacher got really mad and started asking “WHO HERE THINKS THEY’RE CHRIST?” He hadn’t even realised that Christ and Christ are spelled the same (not that Chris+t is really a name to begin with).
63 ~ I feel your pain. -got her braces off in sixth grade- :D
I have to do homework. Happy Rosh Hashanah!
shana tova all you jewish peoples
the snipville copy shop bought &84 worth of ads from me and lizzy! wewt! only &16 to go! (each person has to get &50)
i’m getting contacts but i probably won’t wear them all the time.
we got our shiny marching shoes (yes, we have marching shoes now) they’re blindingly white, and for some odd reason the inside is neon green. guess they felt like adding some color.
aah lunch, i’ll ramble on more later
(73) According to Wikipedia, Congress originally declared September 11 a “National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims Of the Terrorist Attacks.” President Bush renamed it Patriot Day before the first anniversary of the attacks, in 2002.
75- Of prayer? Church and state? Nobody’s forcing you to pray, but I’d prefer if it wasn’t even mentioned. What’s wrong with just a national day of remembrance?
74- Ooo, neon green. Our shoes are black. And I had to polish them after the game. But now they’re shiny.
No school!
Today we picked apples. And now I’m making butter. Because I can.
(76, 73) Sorry, I’ve checked: Wikipedia has it wrong. The National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims of the Terrorist Attacks was September 14, 2001. Congress designated Patriot Day later that year. Appary somebody in the House of Representatives picked the name. It’s not a national holiday — just a discretionary (i.e., optional) day of remembrance. Flags fly at half staff; that’s about all that happens.
By the way, America also has a National Day of Prayer. It’s the first Thursday in May. Some people who oppose the idea protest it by celebrating a “National Day of Reason” on the same day, but it hasn’t caught on in a big way. No greeting cards or anything yet.
77/75- I thought Patriot Day was in april?!
Who here has played Oblivion for PC? It rocks so hard. Still.
I’m hungry. I might go fry some potatoes in olive oil. Has anyone ever done that? It’s g-e-w-d gewd.
We started Othello in English class today, and I get to be Iago. We were making props, and I made myself a Fu Manchu mustache and some angry eyebrows out of pipe cleaners.
Now if you’ll excuse me, the stairs in this building have been burned down by termites. So it looks like I’m gonna have to jump!
That’s Patriots’ Day, a state holiday in Massachusetts, Maine, and Wisconsin. It commemorates the Battles of Lexington and Concord in the American Revolution. It’s also the day of the Boston Marathon.
66- I haven’t the faintest idea. I don’t even know him.
69- It wasn’t actually that depressing, just because it was so bad.
73- Thy don’t offer acting for freshmen at your school? Do they offer creative writing? They don’t let freshmen take that course here. It sucks.
Chris+t might not be a name, but I know a guy named Krist.
I want a historical costume so badly!!!! It’s painful, since I’m kind of bad at sewing and therefore would have to make all sorts of projects that I’m not passionate about to get to making the project that I was passionate about.
Today I had to run a mile. *awful*
On a much happier note, my English class went to the gym and did African dancing with an African dancer who came to the school. And I get to do it tomorrow in Acting! Yay! I’m so happy!
77- I should celebrate that. And make my friends “Happy National Day Of Reason” cards. Would you please add it to the MuseBlog calendar if it isn’t already there?
krist kingle?
81- I don’t think my school *offers* creative writing* But they let you take acting if you’ve taken theatre one which is a tiny bit of acting. You can take theatre two then which is acting. You can also take Theatre IB (without having to take theatre two if you’ve taken theatre one) which is play reading. Then after theatre IB you can take advanced acting. I think you can take Illusion theatre any time after theatre one, though. I take creative writing in the summer, though. It’s amazing. I love my teachers and my classmates and lots of us come back each year. I’ve taken it in 2006 and 2007 and I think I’ll try to take it next year. Sadly, that will have to be my last year because I’m graduating… I’ll definately take creative writing classes in college though… Oh, and the same program that I take creative writing through is a lot like CTY but way smaller and the classes sometimes change though there are various core ones that are usually there. I took Math & Art in 2004 and architecture in 2005 so I’ve been doing the program for years I just have only taken creative writing twice. Yup. That was long…
I think I might suggest the stalker assignment to my teacher in one of my theatre classes this year.
Shana Tova!
81- A mile’s not much at all…. Today I had to run 5 800s at a race pace…. (then again, I’m a cross country runner.
81 (again) – yes! I hate the bad at sewing thing. I run to my friend Rachel for sewing help usually…
83- Yeah, sure.
81 ~ I’m looking through the course guide right now and I can’t find any acting course at all. Creative writing is offered but with English 11 as a prerequisite. But when I’m a senior I’m probably going to be taking AP English…why can’t I take creative writing now instead? (Same thing with Theatre arts, although it says it can be taken with permission of instructor.) There are so many classes in here I want to take though.
Patriot day sounds like some holiday where you get dressed up in american flag patterened boxers and march around your house carrrying an american flag, not a day to remeber the dead.
I couldn’t think of anywhere else to post this.
I’m thinking of leaving the blog. NOT PERMANENTLY. I just think it’s taking up too much of my life, and I want to see if I can discipline myself to stay away from it.
Don’t get me wrong. I love this place. I love being able to talk to people who are actually somewhat intelligent, I love all the writing projects, and I love being crazy without anyone telling me to stop. But anything in excess is bad, and I think I’ve had enough for a while.
Don’t worry. I haven’t even finalized my decision yet, and if I do leave, I will be back. But I just want you to know I’m considering it.
57- Excellent point, actually.
58- lol! Stalking… Speaking of interesting class assignments, we are about to start reading The Odyssey in English. To get everyone in the mood, my English teacher is having us divide into teams. Except they’re not teams, they’re ships. Everyone names their ship, makes a model, then writes and sings a song about it in front of the class. There are also various other writing, art, and athletic competitions. The overall winning team gets little stuffed Aflac ducks, because my English teacher’s daughter works there, and they sometimes hand out promotional items. She has a special upgraded lifeguard duck. I’m very jealous. And we have a lesson on character archetypes (Mary-Sues! I finally get an English class about them!), to study Penelope, and why she’s so perfect and crap.
I have a cold. I FEEL CARPPY.
remedial simpsons, mebbe?
Man. I was too sick to go to Tashlich and that’s the only part of Rosh Hashanah that I really like.
OMG!!! I was outside near my house today saying hi to my friend Sara and there was this black cat outside my next-door-neighbor’s house. It looked at me, I looked at it, and…
It winked at me!!
I’m not kidding or anything! It really did! Seriously! Maybe it’s a sign. SKOKIE MYTH # 4!!
86- for creative writing you could try showing the teacher some of your writing. The prerequsite actually might be a good thing. My school does offer Creative writing but no one ever mentions it and I don’t think it actually exists. A prerequisite assures some quality.
88- I know what you’re talking about. Just taking a break(longer than a day) is a good idea. Eventually, I will actually take a break, like I said I would, because I need to just step away for a little bit.
Re: interesting class assigments, taking a break
I may take a break. Not anytime soon. And probably unanounced. But I’ll be back if I do.
I get to draw a political cartoon for the time period we’re studying! That’s one of my assignmets.
88-we just need to figure out how we’ll substitute you on the pie war threads…
‘nuther comment for lady bunniful the great:
I love how the HPBs are hidden and not noticeble right away. Excellent work!
I have sorted out my affairs in the Pie War, Ships’ Logs, Role-Playing Writing and Museica. I have also removed all MB-related stuff from Paint and Word to avoid temptation. I will now remove the link to MuseBlog from my homepage, and my fasting will begin.
Goodbye, everyone.
(88) We’ll miss the gallant Captain (and your alter egos) and look forward to your return. Fair winds and following seas.
Wow. Call me slow, but I just realized that the picture for this thread was made with pink bunnies.
96-er…when will you be back? how do we know you shall return?
OH NO! You’re leaving! Goodbye dear P.C.
88- I understand completely. I have considered doing that in the past, but in truth, I’m too addicted to my various projects to leave. I could leave almost very thread, but when it came to bidding my RRRs farewell for over a week, my whole plan would crumple.
I wish you wouldn’t leave; you’re a brilliant writer and a cool person, but I understand. *takes out farewell handkerchief* *waves it*
Now I’m depressed. I hate it when someone leaves. Honest, I’m on the verge of tears.
90- My sister had a cat wink at her.
I don’t really feel I need to leave at this point in time. My social and academic life outside of MuseBlog is fine, and I’m no longer obsessed. Someday my ties will probably just snap, and I’ll turn into a drifter like one of the Gen.1ers. But not yet.
I hope that he comes back soon… he makes the rrrs go round robin riting.
Eh. Now I feel like leaving. I just saw Canix’s patchy job with the Role-Playing Writing. I don’t see any other way to fix it, but it’s making me feel even worse than before. Phooey. Bleh. Ugh.
I don’t like health homework.
103-well, you can’t leave. You’re another MB major Writing/over-all thread power. If we loose you too…That’s two big chunks of what MB was to me from the beginning! *Sigh* My MB history is ruined…
88~ I hope to see you again, but I can totally understand how you mean aobut the whole MB taking over life thing. I’ve gotten a lot more addicted lately, but I have breaks just because of my schedule. Good luck, and we’ll look forward to seeing you again.
104- I’m not going to leave, don’t worry. I would never leave just because someone else did.
106~ I’m glad. I’d miss you a lot.
96- goodbye! See you sometime in the future!
Is there anyone moderating? It seems to be going slow. It’s late, though. so I don’t mind too much. I just insist on staying up all night…..
What’s with the clock? lt’s 8:00 here.
I sent a picture.
109- I’m on too! I’m rooting around my school’s website to find the syllabus for Honors English 9, with no result.
That was a while ago, though.
Fire and blood, people won’t leave me alone. If, at the end of a long school day, I want to sit down and use the Internet, should anyone be able to stop me? I don’t see the problem in my staying up until or past 11:00 as long as I get myself up in the morning. Which I do. So there oughtn’t to be a problem. But nooooo, constant badgering is the order of the day.
Same deal. Your posts read 10:01, I got 8:10
(67, 68) Would someone please give weelala a proper MB welcome? Thanks.
115- O’ course, how could it have slipped my mind? *pies weelalafairyprincess with a cream puff*
Why a cream puff, you ask? Because we always used to leave cream puffs out for the fairies on Imbolc. Not necessarily the twinkly fluffy-dressed fairies with glittery wands, but whatever.
This puts me in mind of Smith of Wootton Major.
Day one Of PC’s departure:
Morale is high, though PC’s threads are in shambles. We continue, waiting for him to return…
*Pies weelala*
*Pies weelalafairyprincess with an extra large buffleberry pie with cream topping.
113-It depends.
So what’s it gonna take, silver shadow believer?
I have too much work this weekend, my muscles are gone, and I am slightly sleep-deprived. I think I need to drink more water.
Plus I got the Fratellis CD–Costello Music. Oh yeah.
103- DON”T YOU DARE LEAVE! you mean so much to me, you’ve been here since i started. i look up to you. what would i do without Alice? go die in a hole probably.
this weekend i’m going to an art class thingy from the people who did black ice comics (?) at the library. it will either be lame or fun.
*pies weelalafairyprincess with pumpkin pie*
Alice isn’t leaving, though…
Ok, the time has come for me to take an actual break from MB. Yes, I will be back, but I just need to step aside for a few days. I might be back on Monday, I might be back a week from Monday. Who knows? But I will be back. Au revoir, mes amis.
Why is everyone leaving? People who have been on the blog less than me are leaving!
What happened today: <band>I got audition music for normal band. I want to play first trombone, but I know Brian will and I’m not sure about the other two, they’re from a different middle school. So I’m practicing a lot. And we have a marching band competition in Cicero tomorrow. We don’t get home until 2 a.m. Reportedly the field is one of the two best in the circuit, though. Astroturf and all. I’ve never even walked on astroturf, I think. And there’s a huge arena with lots of other bands… exciting and scary. </band>
That is all.
122- see yay! Monday, or next monday, or the one after that… ^_^
Bye for now, Traggle.
Why is everyone leaving? It’s weird. I’ll be gone for a week, starting next Fri., but that’s because I’ll be at rendezvous.
Zat picz crrrreeeep me out.
Me no likez skool. Skool sux.
Me no likez WMA. WMA sux.
Me no likez piczur day. Piczur day sux.
Me wanna be EMO! Just kidling, me no emo. Me jus reallllly bordz and feelie like tiepin like diss. Fish.
must not leave.
(123, 125) Two people are taking breaks for a little while, that’s all.
120- *sniff* I’m touched, Kagy, But I’m not leaving.
122- Farewell, dear Traggle! Have a nice hiatus!
77- I am so celebrating National Day of Reason.
88- I definitely understand that. My solution is just to post less frequently… but that doesn’t always work, because then I feel the urge to catch up on older threads.
90- I had bad sinuses yesterday, too. So I couldn’t practice violin… and I have chamber music auditions tomorrow. I’m on a practice break now.
The fact that I “know” people online that I don’t know in real life rather scares me. Especially that I know some bloggers on facebook/aim, too. I trust the people on here, though, not to come to my school and stalk me. The blog is almost cult-like, in a way. Except it’s a nerd cult. It is rather addictive though.
I need to get a life. How does one go about that, Potato Chip asks?
Expirement:
There’s nothing to prevent me from typing this: [snip!]
[There’s nothing to prevent us from zapping further experiments in impersonating GAPAs. –Admin.]
130- Getting a life? Go to school, make some friends, do your homework. Voila! Instant life!
watching crappy movie, waiting for dinner to be finished, wincing at pain in sore fingers from guitar lessons.

133- Heard from Romana yet? (In case you don’t check the pertinent thread.)
And now I’m going to do my HW. JOY.
Alice, you are not allowed to leave. Not as long as I have anything to say about it. I’d miss you too much.
Such interesting bonds we form with people we’ve never actually met. Is it the Collective Unconcious? We discussed that in English today, and I agree with some parts of the theory. Except for the suicidal part… that doesn’t make an awful lot of sense. I think I prefer Jung’s ideas to Freud’s, which are somewhat sadistic, and pretty nasty at times. There’s got to be more to our motives than having sex, right? Sorry, very weird if you haven’t read any of his stuff.
And PraCan… I am deeply saddened by your absence from the blog. You are a major part of blog culture, and your leave creates a void where you once typed. Come back when you feel, but please make it sometime before next decade.
Traggle bids us a temporary farewell, too. Why am I getting a vague sense of deja vu` akin to MontgomeryGurl’s flight from our little section of blogosphere?
Gah. Now I feel gloomy and somber. Not the best feeling to have on a lovely Friday evening.
Hellooooooooo Weelala! *pies*
131) I’m confused. What do you mean by impersonating GAPA’s?
135) Somber? Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Are you saying that you usually aren’t somber on Fridays? *awkward*
134) Oh. How fun. Homework. *groan* I need to do mine too.
Man! I’m reading SUCH a good book! I’m reading “Gullivers Travels”. I’ve just gotten to the part where Gulliver is being accused of treson, partly because he peed on the miny kings castle in order to stop it from burning to the ground. It is SO hilarious!
131- Ah. Just curious. And the “There’s nothing to prevent” part was part of the expirement. l wanted to see people’s reactions.
135- ‘Tis weird indeed. It’s a strange feeling to be such dear friends with people that I haven’t even met. I don’t know what most of you look like, even.
Okay, now I’m depressed. I need to attend a kokonvention badly.
*depressed*
Calling all Musebloggers! Calling all Musebloggers! Everyone is invited right now to come to the “Ships Logs” thread, where you can assist all the Ship’s Logs crew in exploring the far reaches of the Musiverse! And, of course, eat my scrumptious food made in my trusty ship’s kitchen!
*does a cartwheel*
Why did I just do a cartwheel?
Stop being depressed. it’s not fun.
Lets see, at the moment, I’m loading “Understanding the Fundamentals of Music” onto the iPod, so I can listen to them whle I sew tomorrow; listening to Mom practice her cello, getting ready to turn off the computer and finish up a bit of HW and then watch a movie. Not that anyone cares, but whatever.
Oh god. Part two. I’d go back and finish part one, but I think I should probably catch up on the other threads…
Life update:
Anyway, I’ve been gone a lot, yeah. Tennis after school till five, and on days I don’t have hockey I stay later with Ros and some othe rpeople and hit longer. Till around 6 normally, but today me and Ros stayed till 7 and played some other people who showed up that we sort of knew when the other people on the team left.
(You know, we’ve only had two practices since school started. Today and wednesday. All the onther weekdays have been meets or rained out…)
And on the days I do have hockey, I’m home for about 10 minutes to eat and pack, then leave for dryland and practice and get home around 10:30 to finish hw. Ahg.
Tomarrow we have a tournament for tennis though! It’s freshmen/sophomore only, though me and Ros are still 1st and second singles as we;ve been for all the other meets. ^^ Even though Ros is a freshie and this is her first year playing, she’s really good. So I have that tomorrow, getting to the courts around 7 to practice and getting home around 3 or 3:30. Must remember sunscrean this time. I do not want repeat of lat week… eep.
And on sunday, I have a hockey game at 6:30 in the morning. WHich means I have to be there by 5:30, so I have to get up at 4:30 if I want 30 minutes to get dressed. DX I’m going to die… then at 7:30 pm or so we have a practice. Ahhg.

You have nothing better to do, Beavo? Sad state of affairs, that. I’d give you my homework to do if you’re that desperate, but I don’t trust you with it.
142- Fire and blood! Did you really have to take up so much space?

142) Dang! What was the point of that?
145) Those were the results of what jobs would be good for you? Wow. It doesn’t look like they narrowed it down very well.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I like cheese.
142- Was there any point in that? I’m not even sure precisely what the dialect you were attempting was… Just goes to show, boredom can steer you in any direction.
Hm… I need some new books to read… I’ll surely shrivel up into a withered husk with no one on AIM and no new reading material. Suggestions, anyone?
New MuseBlogger coming soon, possibly, as well as a new subscriber in time.
Victwee! Wejoything!
HPB points to anyone who can tell me what book that came from.
(142, 147) I suspect Beavo dumped the text into an online program that “translates” text into various dialects. That one looks to me like Hillbilly. It might be handy to have a Pirate translator for the rapidly approaching Talk Like a Pirate Day.
130- yay for nerd cults. I don’t know any of the bloggers in real life and probably never will. the feeling on this blog is pretty good, though that’s probably why I keep coming back (and the fact that i have waaaaaay to much spare time) yay for the blog. in that little thought of mine i forgot what your post was actualy about so forgive me if i said something completely random.
the blog taught me how to type fast.
138- yeah. i have no idea what anyof you look like (except for the kokonventioners) but i have this mental image of you, Alice, you’re wearing a pink sweater and a long blue skirt. you have a fair complexion and black hair and eyes. I know i am totaly off, but that’s my mental imige of you.
148- Thankee, GAPA-type person. That’s interesting, actually. I may have to search them.
My friend Rebecca has rescued a baby squirrel, and is keeping him in her garage, feeding him and such. She’s such a saint… *grumbles about how unsaintly everyone else is*
148-Yup! I was waiting for someone to figure it out that I hadn’t actually typed all that out.
I don’t know what post you were talking about this in, but it was around 42. The Dangerous book for boys has another one coming out soon, but it’s the Daring Book for Girls. I want to get it!
I’m not going to be on much because of school. Sorry if I wimp out on the RRRs I’m already in, but I’ll try to avoid joining new ones so as not to mess them up.
Day 2 of PC’s Departure
The Pie war thread has quickly assembled itself, but I dare not venture onto the RPW thread…I personnaly hope he returns soon to fix the wrongs he has done to his threads…
Do those careers seem like I’d like them?
Gwendolyn, books suggestions: Someplace to be Flying -Charles de Lint. Any Diana Wynne Jones. I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith (that one’s not fantasy despite it’s title) Human Croquet by Kate Atkinson Faery Reel edited by Terri Windling and Ellen Datlow (that one’s an anthology) The Priviledge of the Sword by Ellen Kushner Come to think of it, these books apply to anyone who’s interested.
145-I took a quiz like that. According to my personality I could be a dictator, a cia agent, a teacher…there were some more, but those were the ones I remember it said I would be good at.
So the blues brothers show wasn’t too horrible (yes, this is another marching band rant. random side note, the initials of marching band amuse me…it’s funny to walk into band and see MB on the board :D) Hermann and nick dressed up in suits and suchlike. We wore winter uniforms, and it was incredibly hot *dies* johnson put on one of the drummer’s hats (they wear baseball hats backwards because apparently they’re too cool for the regular hats). We lost, of course. Right before halftime when we were standing on the side, seth white got a penalty for starting a fight right next to us, so we had amusing conversations about the stupidity of certain football players. Carolynn wasn’t there, so in his pre-halftime speech, peter dedicated the show to her, or rather a certain part of her anatomy in keeping with the trumept tradition. We also decided that from now on we were going to do a cheer like the football players do before the game, when the coach yells “who are you?” “SNIPVILLE” “who?” “SNIPVILLE” etc and then “what are you going to do?” “WIN” etc. So we’re going to say “trumpets” and then “*** ’em up!” and hurt our voices even more than we normally do…aah, friday nights.
Nobody messed up badly, considering we had four days to learn the drill, and half the band was gone one of those days anyway for rosh hashana. And we learned the dance at the spread. It was an old dance mostly though. I asked lizzy and monica about it third quarter, and they rated us an 8 out of 10, so that’s good. We spent most of third quarter talking to the other band. They were very sparkly. They had sparkly hats and sparkly sashes, and they had flag girls who had sparkly flags. Not nearly as cool as our penguinesque uniforms, but still very shiny.
After the game we were hanging around wondering what to do, and a lot of people went to starbucks but hewitt and i are not starbucks people, besides which there were going to be a few people there that were rather infuriating. So courtney got a call from danny and heard that there was a party going on at her old church, so we went there instead and partied with the lutherans. It was quite interesting how many people i knew there. I went with courtney (an ex-lutheran who hasn’t been there since like kindergarten), hewitt (an apathetic catholic like myself), john (the new kid, plays tenor sax. he’s really good. dunno what religion, but i don’t think he was lutheran), and megan (a methodist). Once we got there, we met up with danny (a jew) and also saw robert and rachel m., (i know both of them, but we don’t really hang out much), hahnz, and maddie. (i think maddie’s jewish too) So altogether i knew three (?) lutherans at the lutheran party, and then there were a few other people i recognized but didn’t know, and a couple i didn’t know at all. So it was more just an all-around party.
there was a pirate pinata that fell off the string three times, so we just stabbed it and threw candy at each other, and there was free pizza (free food is ALWAYS good), ping-pong, and pool. It was good times.
Today i’m basically just being lazy
so [ / life ]
i’m reading the tale of genji again. i never finished it the last time, but it gets confusing with all the different names for the same people, so i’m starting over again.
i think i have library books that have been out for about a month *eep*
i can’t find the scythe on limewire and it makes me sad :'( If there are any european MBers who have the actual cd and have AIM, you should totally send me the songs *nudgenudge* you know you want to.
i wish itunes wouldn’t be all stupid about it…but i guess if they didn’t they wouldn’t make any money…
hey, question: if I were to send in me playing something (violin), would people be interested in listening to it?
question #2: Do people even know who I am any more, since I average about one post per week?
157- I’d love to listen, Liz. And I know who you are. One of the few first-geners who continues to grace us n00bs (comparitively and literally speaking) with her presence. Ah… the good ol’ days, before we got past nine generations. Do you remember what it was like? The old blog, where people who joined commited for some time before running away, and almost always returned eventually, instead of all these weirdo newbies who post once and then dash off, never to be heard from again. Yes, that was MuseBlog at some of its best.
157: Yes, I remember you and yes, I’d love to hear you play the violin. Violins are awesome. I just got a new one, actually. Mine was too small but still the best violin in the whole world. I miss it, in case you couldn’t tell.
We had a cross country meet today. It was good-I came in 14th in the freshman/sophomore race and our team won the aforementioned (ooh, what a cool word) race. I wish I knew what place I came in on the team… I’ll find out on Monday.
156-The Blues Brothers????!!!
157-yes! I know who you are and I would love to hear you play violin.
158-Uh huh.
I have to go finish (okay, start) the Bellerophon Rant.
157-
1: I would love it if you sent something in.
2: I know perfectly well who you are.
158- I’m starting to wish I’d been around in the old days. Or wait–I’ve always wished that. Never mind.
Cheer up. These will be the old days, someday.
157-I know who you are!!! And I would love to listen to it, it would be awesome!!! I love Violins…..
148- Ha, we did some blues brothers songs when we went to northern last year with a bunch of other bands. We were there for the game, and our band was the only one who was standing and sheering even though most of us don’t like football. Everyone else was just sort of sitting there, except for the row behind us who we got to be hyper to. ‘Twas fun.
157- But of cource!
I wish I lived back in the early 1800’s…that would be pretty much amazing…
157- I totaly know who you are. and i would love to hear you play violin.
158- yeah no newbies except for I, man-gator have stayed for long. it bothers me. but I stayed. yay for me.
161- Alice someday we’ll be sitting around a computer going “Ah 2007 what a long time ago. those were good days.” and we’ll see al the newbies on the blog who look up to you. *blushes* I look up to you and i’m not a newb
anyways: I HAVE SO MUCH FRIGGIN’ HOMEWORK TIS WEEKEND. *turns away from key board and swears because it is bad to swear on museblog* GAAAAAHHHHHH MY SOUL IS DYING SOMEONE HELP IT AAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH! OOOOOOH THE PAIN THAT THROBS DEEPLY IN MY CHEST, THE BURNING ANGUISH OF A DYING SOUL! you know, i would probably feel so much better if i just got the [violent swearing deleted] science homework completed. my teachers are all about asking qwestions but in elementry school i was taught not to ask qwestions. my science teacher scares me because she is all into asking qwestions but i’m afraid of being yelled at. anyways my homework vent is over.
I’m getting distance glasses. i already have reading glasses. now i just need holsters.
165- I always feel I was born in the wrong time period.
166~ Wow, you must be really mad at the homework, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you having such a fit.
I should be cleaning my room. Uuggghhhhhhh. I really don’t want to. But, I started, and I have to finish it, or at least do some more, because my stuff is shrewn all over my bed, and on the porch and the whole place looks worse than when I started and I hate cleaning but my room was so incredibly disgusting that I had to do something and I hate cherry pits.
That was the most spectacular run-on sentence I’ve done in long time. Wow, I’m amazed at myself for writing that. Such un-grammatical blather. That sentence that might as well be a paragraph. Ah well. I hate cleaning my room.
165~ (Sorry for the double post) The 19th century is too modern for me. I’m stuck in the 17th and 18th centuries, so go figure. So stuck, in fact, that I never feel properly dressed untill I’m wearing about 3 layers of clothes, and several skirts, and 2 hats, and, and, and……. Music too, all my friends think I’m nuts.
165- Welcome to the club. I think you get a badge . . .
I just got mistaken for a 20-year-old! So weird; this guy comes up to my door, rings the doorbell, and I answer it because my mother is at work. He’s selling cards for a fundraiser, and I say I’ll buy one, just to be nice. I go upstairs, get my purse, and come back downstairs. I pick a very nice card with a pig on it, but it turns out the cards are too expensive.
Me: Oh, I’m sorry, I don’t have enough money.
Guy: Oh. Well . . . we would take a check.
Me: (very aware that I shouldn’t let on I’m home alone) I can’t write checks, I’m too young. And my mother isn’t available right now. (Stupid of me, to be sure. I’m so used to dealing with people over the phone.)
Guy: Oh well, thank you.
Me: Yeah, sorry.
I end up giving him a donation of two dollars.
Guy: Wait, how old are you?
Me: (Thinking: Oh no, I shouldn’t answer this. I shouldn’t answer this. But what else can I do?) Um . . . 14. (Thinking: Great. How stupid of me. I shouldn’t have answered that.)
Guy: Oh, I thought you were like 20 or something. *leaves*
Looking back, I handled the situation very badly. I can think of several things I should have done differently, but honestly, it wouldn’t have made much difference in the end. I would have had to tell him my mother wasn’t available anyway, just to explain why I couldn’t buy a card.
The thing is, no matter what the situation, I have to be polite.
I feel very stupid and inexperienced. Hopefully my use of the word available made it seem like she was in the bathroom or something.
Agh. I need reassurance. How many people have been stupid enough to as good as tell someone that they were home alone? Or wait– hold that thought. *goes and locks the front door* *comes back* Now, you were saying?
170~ I’m not usually home alone, and when I am, nothing happens. Nobody comes to our door, seeing as we live in the middle of nowhere and our driveway looks like one of the places you just don’t go. As in, it’s a long curvy gravel road in the middle of nowhere.
I think one time the UPS man came when I was alone. If I remember correctly, I hid. Real mature, aren’t I? Usually I just have to answer the phone, then I do the same thing, “She’s not able to come to the phone at the moment, can I take a message?” Geez, I sound like a secratary.
I haven’t been on in forever. or at least for a whole thread. so sad.
So i just got a shirt that says “Leci n’est pas une pipe”, below a mario brother pipe. no one gets it. so sad. maybe people on the blog know about dada though? hello cultured people? or at least interested
169- Yeah, I really want to be in the eighteenth century, but whatever. The club is basically called “People who want to live in history.” Or something along those lines.
*jumps back to topic of her previous post*
I really couldn’t have said anything else. I could have been a little bit more inventive and said something like, “She’s busy,” but that wouldn’t have made a big difference.
hey, you did better than I probably would have!
Ooh, can I join the club? That would be fun. I’m going to be able to live in the 18th century for a week, starting next Fri. I’ll be at a rendezvous, YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait!
Personally, I do not answer the door unless I know who’s there.
174- ‘Course you can join! Total list of members:
Midnight Fiddler
Shadowkat
Alice
W00t w00t.
I’m not too worried anymore. He didn’t seem like a creep, there was nothing else I could have said, and I didn’t actually say I was home alone.
175- I looked through the window, but by then he’d seen me and I couldn’t escape.
This has nothing to do with anything that is happening on this thread, including locked doors (what?) but I was looking around on RinkWorks and I found this guide to persuasion thing, and here’s one of the tips.
Name Calling
Name calling is an efficient way of pointing out your opponents’ weaknesses and call into question the authority with which they dispute your position. By encouraging your opponents to doubt their competence, you can undermine a contrary argument from the inside. For example:
You: “I believe all short people should be beaten with rocks until they bleed.”
Opponent: “I think that’s a very horrible and malicious idea.”
You: “Well, you’re fat! Fatty fat doo doo head!”
Opponent: (sobs)
At this I literallly had to run out of the room to avoid being told off for cracking up without warning in the middle of my mother’s transcription. It took me about five minutes to shut up. And then I read this:
Random Comments
The interjection of random comments is a useful diversionary tactic. Although the best way to win an argument is for your opponents to concede the debate to you, this last ditch effort can be used in an emergency to secure a secondary victory by disorienting your opponents so much they don’t know how to proceed. This tactic has the side benefit of presenting yourself as knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects, so observers are bound to be impressed by your breadth of expertise.
You: “School lunches suck.”
Opponent: “Despite the taste, school lunches are, in actuality, very nutritional.”
You: “On the contrary! Mahogany is one of Honduras’ primary lumber exports.”
Opponent: “Mahogany? Honduras? This has nothing to do with school lunches!”
You: “Yeah, well, I could beat you at arm wrestling!”
Opponent: “What does– But– You–”
At this, I had to reapeat the first comment about laughing.
Speaking of laughing, I participated in my first (I think) karate demo! *dances* (Why that reminded me of laughing, I know not.) We all drove to the Bluemont Fair and performed with our weapons, street defence, and board breaking. And I pulled off the best flying side-kick I have ever done while breaking a board at the SAME TIME.
And then since it was really randomly rainy WINDY, it was kind of cold, and the wind blew this broken branch off a tree and hit Dan upside the head. *bwahahaha* He’s like six foot five and screamed like a two year old girl. Uuber funny. But you had to be there.
176~ I’ll go off and make my official “I Belong to the MB ‘I Want to Live In The 18th Century’ Club” right now! YIPPIE!!!! *skips away humming*
Actually, what I need to do is go out and keep cleaning my room. Uuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh. *suddenly loses all energy and flops onto keyboard*
erijgseiuthgjnbpeorituhghpoeirtuhjgspoitrjgywo8eywpoiejbp
(that was the result of my collapse onto the keys) (see what having to clean my room does to me?!)
‘Night, all. See you tomorrow, unless I don’t. Yours Truly &c.
(177) Of course, you’re still not required to answer. It took me a long time to figure that out. (But I do try not to be seen — all the while resenting the fact that I’m hiding inside my own house just to avoid seeming rude to someone I did not invite to show up at my door in the first place.)
179- Wow, my keyboard never does that when I collapse on it!
180- REALLY? You don’t have to answer??? Wow! Amazing! What a revelation! *is dazzled*
181-Yeah, my computor always makes a little *bleep* and comes up with about five hundred error messages that says stuff like “your spaghetti is burning” and “did you know that george is gay?” Creepy, eh? Just kidding.
8kju.
That was the result of my collapse of my head on the keyboard. Not very impressive.
157- Yes, I would love to hear you play and yes, I know who you are. I think of you as, besides an early MBer, a violin MBer.
Speaking of violin, I recorded myself last night and sent it to some MBers over AIM… problem is, it’s in .wav format, so about 56MB for 5 and a 1/2 minutes, way too big to email. I could either convert it to mp3 or upload it somewhere for the GAPAs to download. I’ll probably convert it.
157- of course on both counts! ^_^
I look out the window when the doorbell rings and I’m alone but you can’t really see much from the window. They can’t see you though.
Grant liked the film Superbad which he saw tonight. Grant is not in the clearest state of mind right now, but Grant will make his best effort to be coherent. : D : D : D
*ACK!* l google blog searched museblog. While not finding the blog itself, l found a blasphemous post from an unnamed museblogger. Under the list things they hate, they say, “Museblog: Was l really that dumb when l was 12?” Only the GAPAs may know who this is.
l also found the alternate MB, by glassboro.
l can’t post links, but the GAPAs might not snip this.
GAPAs- l’m unaware if l should post this. Please just snip it without much ado if it’s a problem. l’m trying to improve my image in your eyes.
I’m almost done with Ebeth’s novel. I’m sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired. I should probably go to bed, but I’m sort of absorbed in the book and I don’t want to lose my place.
Ebeth, the book is good, but it doesn’t make an awful lot of sense and there were some things that were blatantly filler. These things aren’t necessarily bad, though.
There are also things that are slightly less blatant filler, like Marvin’s one three three seven, which I had to translate into numbers before I could translate into words, but which I didn’t want to ignore because it could have been important.
Some pieces of the book are absolutely brilliant and others are absolutely hilarious, and some parts are annoying and spoil the whole mood, until you hit another very good spot.
Good job!
(186) The GAPAs know about these things but don’t think about them very much.
Well, except that the end isn’t really the end. We never hear about the important future that Zor kept referencing, we never find out if Marvin stops thinking Iris is leet, we never figure out . . .
Et cetera. I think you get the point. I agree with c+q when she says it stops in the middle.
I am going to bed now. It’s almost midnight. Good night (or good morning, in eight minutes).
Is puple panda still around? I haven’t seen her in ages.
189) Wow! You stayed up late!
Good morning everyone!
170- One time, I was home alone and was on the phone with my mom, and as I walked into the kitchen I saw this person wearing a baseball hat ducking behind the window. I was really freaked out, and left the kitchen and didn’t reply to my mom’s question for a long time. Then they stood back up (I was sort of watching from another room) and went out to our street, got in a van and drove away. I finally realized that it had been a meter reader, but I was still pretty nervous.
175- Me also, but the way our house is built you can’t see who’s at the door unless you look out the wavy-glass next to our front door or the big picture window that they could probably see through also. Very irritating.
180- …I never really thought about it like that (hiding in own house, ect), but you’re so right.
WooT! I started a club!!!
Hey, what if we had a thread where we started at, say, the year 1769, and took the story of the American Revolution and lived it out from there? We could choose our side (Tory or Whig), and write journals, and interact on the streets, and do all sorts of stuff. It wouldn’t be like an RRR, or anything, but just for fun! What do you say?
193 – like a RPG?
okay, as soon as I have something recorded I’ll send it in (I’ll be doing competitions so I’ll have to make a CD for that but I don’t have anything I wouldn’t be embarrassed sharing right now); will probably be Saint-Saens no. 3, I doubt my paganini concerto will be up to snuff anytime soon.
OMG. If there’s an I Want To Live In The 18th Century club, then there’s no reason why there can’t be a Maximum Ride fanclub!! I AM THE FIRST MEMBAR!!!
186 – yeah, I feel like that most days. I went back and read the gaboomba a few months ago and it was like *shudder* what was I thinking.. and then I realized that no, the blog hasn’t acutally gotten younger in age, I’ve gotten older and what I thought was oh-so-mature-and-sophisticated or whatever I thought it was I now just think is silly..
.
maybe I should stop talking now.
187-woah hey, i remember that deterioration into randomness! wewt. I couldn’t write for about a week and a half, so the entire last part was done in a huge rush of “i am NOT going to lose now after i wrote half a freaking novel”
186, 196-ha, it’s like watching disney movies again and thinking “i can’t believe i ever thought that was the saddest thing ever” or “i can’t believe i missed that dirty joke” or “i can’t believe i actually wanted them to win”
Also seeing small people and going “my god, was i EVER that short? impossible”
193- sounds like fun….. must go find out what you’re talking about ( I know nothing about american history- mabe there could be a small explenation at the begging of the thread) it would be like ships log but not. COOOOLLLLL now me is excited. *digs out american history books* aw man all I have is a dear america about pearl harbor.
I just thought of an idea for a thread. this might be lame but i’m not sure. It’s like writing theme with variations but it’s short answer.basicaly one person would go : “This is an apple” and the everyone would think of a problem that the apple could cause such as: “Thanks Eve, *bites into the apple* God?” does that make sense?
196, 197- But you guys are still around. I sort of know what you’re talking about, and I read past threads and think how immature I sounded, or how stiff, or something. Some days I look at th blog and I say, “I don’t really care anymore”, but then an hour later I’m sitting at the computer typing like mad.
198- I know nothing about canadian history. Teach me?
186, 196- yup. and yet I remain here.
200- sure, let’s have a canadian/ american history thread where we can tell eachother about that stuff. PLEASE GAPAs’?
Hi all!
I’m going to post about marching band at Cicero later today. It was a lot different than last time, and quite enjoyable. If the GAPAs want, they could make a marching band thread so Ebeth and I don’t have to keep posting in the random thread and diverting conversation, but I don’t particularly mind posting here.
Right now I’m going to do homework and hopefully get enough done that I’m allowed to go to see a trombone ensemble at 3. Which means leaving MB now. I don’t know if there’s even time to get homework done first. Anyway, bye, ttyl.

This morning I found what I believe to be a poorly constructed Molotov cocktail in the driveway. It was a glass bottle scorched around the mouth with a dry-looking rag inside. Apparently some drunken wastrels from the bar down the street tried to make one and set my driveway on fire but the glass bottle failed to break. The fact that my driveway is made of gravel probably helped. Or perhaps it was some kids from my school. Either way, they were consummate idiots.
204- Actually, that sort of reminds me of stories my dad tells, about when he was young and stupid and had a fireworks war with his neighbors. They won ’cause they had better fireworks but it sounded highly amusing.
204-lol. molotov cocktails are cool though………..
so im going to an edguy concert. ought to be pretty awesome.
I usually like to read through all the posts that I missed but there are so many. I’m too out of it. My stupid sister gave me a cold. Oops, she’s coming up the stairs. But yeah, I’ve had a good weekend. I went to Taylor’s house Friday night for her birthday and had fun. My first football game went great. I wasn’t playing football, obviously. I was there with the band. Our team lost 28-0, which is to be expected since the visitors were number two in the state and we…aren’t. xD And then we went to the Eddie From Ohio concert which was great. Except this morning I woke up with a cold. And I have band rehearsal in an hour and it’s cold outside. (Sort of.)
Ohmygod my weekend was the best ever.
Here’s what happened:
Friday- I pick up my best friend and go home where we hang out and one of my favorite shows has been recorded. So we watch a little tv, hang out, talk, you know. Then we go to my old school’s football game, where I see a tonnn of my friends and get bombarded with hugs and friendliness and get a lot of compliments on my hair/jacket…. but I get to see sooo many of my friends and one of the friends who I didn’t get to see texted me saying she wished she could be there when she found out I was there. We won the game 41:6, which is unbelievable cus our team blows hard. Also, I kept wishing we would get one more point for an even 42.
Saturday- Go to the mall with Alison and my mom. My mom ends up buying me two pairs of shoes (yay!) and Jamba Juice alllll around! Then I go to B’s (for everyone who doesn’t read R&R, B is my crush and friend) house, and see a lot more friends. Like, people who I didn’t see at the game. So that was a lot of fun…. there was Guitar Hero 3 (omg love), and pizza, and B imitations (“B2, you’re a bad girlfriend! -twitch–sunglasses- I’m a ninjew! I’ll use my jewdoo powers!” [b2= friend of mine who was there])
so when I got home, like half an hour later he came on (everyone had left) and asked me to homecoming!!!!!!!!
okay. yayyyy
fantastic bloody weekend.
206- Molotov cocktails are cool in theory, but they are incredibly dangerous. Fire oughtn’t to be messed around with. This comes from a guy whose field was set on fire several years ago during spring break and who had to try and beat it out with a shovel until the fire department arrived. We never caught the punks who did it. Seriously, though: pyromania may sound fun, but it is not the way to go.
209-I nearly had my tent burn down because two pyros at boy scout camp in my patrol kept on flicking matches…arrrrg…
I’d join the 18th century club, if I can have a computer. Otherwise, I can’t post on MB(the horror!)!
I have been thinking about previous comments posted. PC was a large chunk of what MB has been to me, along with a few other people, that I could consider my MB-friends, yet I never actually knew them. Also, if I left, what kind of reaction would I make among other MBers? What have I appeared as to all of you? Who considers me a MB-friend? Am I still a noob? If I leave now, how many people on MB will remember me as a distinct part of MB? The mind wanders…I want to know other peoples answers…[/Questioning] In other news…
209- Ooh, ouch.
I never was a big fan of pyromania. Maybe I spent too much of my childhood in northern California. I’m kind of scared of fire. I wouldn’t light a match until I was nine or ten.
211-
Wow. Here, I’ll answer those in order:
1) I’m honestly not sure what my reaction would be. You’re not such an integral part of my favorite threads that it would make it impossible to continue with stuff, but I would miss you. But I wouldn’t notice your absence in the same way I would notice some people’s, because on the long list of my favorite threads, only a few of them are threads that you frequently visit. If you left with a bang for an indefinite amount of time, I would be sad.
2) A normal Muser, albeit a Muse-deprived one, who happens to like writing rather gory things and doesn’t hang out a lot on my threads, but who is cool nonetheless.
3) I do!
4) No. I don’t think you are, anyway.
5) I think I would. When I think of the MBers, a list of people pops into my mind. You are on that list.
psh, screw safety, I love fire!
213-well, actually that was quite the reaction that I expected, therefore I didn’t expect it. It’s confusing. Oh, well. Thank you, anyhoo, I appreciate it. Now to see what other people think…I still need to read muse, though, as you suggest.
I nearly forgot!
PC’s Departure
day 3.
The pie war thread has patched up mostly, though PC dissapearence will take some serious editing on the book. I still have not checked the other ruined threads, but PC has left an imprint that makes me want to ask a lot of questions about MB and myself…
Aww, my stalxzor comments were deleted. oh well.
ooh, a marching band thread would be spiffy.
i’m a pyro, but a moderate one. I set off fireworks and stuff, but i’m generally not stupid about it, and try to talk some of my stupid friends out of the more ridiculous stuff.
So i really like a lot of my songs that start with B. I’m almost done with the B’s now. I know that’s not exactly far in, but so far i’d have to say the B’s are my fav letter.
211- I’ve been wondering the same sort of things. I’m not sure if I’d notice your absence as much as I do Penty’s or Morbid’s (though Penty didn’t leave she just doesn’t go here much and Morbid didn’t leave she just doesn’t come here except on her birthday) I would miss you though. I consider you a friend but we are sort of seperated MB generation wise enough. I would definately miss you and notice and be saddened by your absence. Oddly, I remember you better as Gimanator. You would definately be on my MBer list as Alice put it.
(off topic of reply to your post) You don’t get Muse? You should!
What would peoples reaction be if I left? Gosh, I’ve been here for years, since Dec 03 or so in the gaboomba era. Am I an MB friend? Or am I one of the people you see around, think of as an MBer but am not really in your closer friend circle? Just curious, as I, man-gator (can’t stop thinking of you as gimanator…) said.
As for my name. I *am* Oxlin but feel free to call me e~a if that’s what you’re used to. or widdershins if you’d like. Of course, my real life name is none of those.
ya pyros rock
i love pi!! This is how much i have memorized!
218- I consider you my friend, definitely. I would be very sad if you left but not at all surprised, since you’ve been around for years and you’re getting quite–how to put it…oh, what the heck–old. For a MuseBlogger.
Sorry I forgot to say this in my previous comment.
What about me?
204- that’s like the time people egged my house but they only egged my window….. who would want to be mean to Grant O. anyways?? you’re a nice guy.
211- I would miss you soooooooo much. like actually, i’m not kidding. You’re such a big part of my MB now, basicaly because… actualy i have no idea…. you post a lot(?) I think you’re pretty cool. you aren’t a noob, you post too much to be a noob. i consider you an MBfriend. I think of you as a distinct mart of MB.
218- It would be weird if you left I would be all “Where did e~a go?” I think of you more as a ‘role model’ or ‘person I look up to’ than a friend. it’s like youre a senior in the company and I’m a lowly intern…..or something along those lines. you are very much respected by me.
What would people feel like if I left (not that I’m going to, i’m too adicted)? does anyone consider me an MBfriend?(don’t feel pressured to say yes.) What kind of an impression have I made on you guys? am I a distinct part of MB?
I ♥ my thread ideas!!!
GAPA’s, por favor?
@_@
213- Am l on that list? l feel like l wouldn’t be. l’m like lisa simpson. She tries hard, but homer is always famous for doing ridiculous things.
l’m actually considering leaving.
222: Alice! OK. My big speech (don’t anyone be offended): I have always liked you specially because (as you already know) you remind me of myself in many ways. Not just that, but you are always kind to everyone and never mean or rude. And you made me feel welcome when I first came just a few months ago. If you ever consider leaving I’ll never want to get on Muse Blog again. It just wouldn’t be the same.
223: You too! Do not leave! Why is everyone leaving???? *sigh*
226-DONT LEAVE!!!
GAPAs, can we have another dance thread? I am dying to talk about it!!!
Why not?
My mom found another failed Molotov cocktail. The sheriff was notified. Those arsonists suck at life.
229-what’s the point of you leaving? We all enjoy you being here. *Will answer other people’s questions after shower*
Since l don’t feel wanted here, that was a test.
223- Well, you’re not rilly my friend… it’s kinda neutral.
We’re not all leaving, we’re just curious.
Alice- you are definately an MB friend
Kagy- you too.
Both of you are definate mbers that it’d be weird and sad to see gone.
err… I’ll elaborate later. Right now I should be doing homework/taking shower/organizing the stuff on my bed/sleeping. yeah.
Widdershins-I remember this name better. I would be sad if you left, it’s true. Each of you is a peice of MB. I really wish I could get to know You better because I don’t often look at your posts, I feel kinda bad about that…
Alice -Face it. You are MB. Every MBer looks up to you, even if they’re older. You post on nearly every thread. You post more than me. And that’s actually saying something, based on past patterns. If I do post, you’re usually the first to respond. I can count on you.
Kagomix-Again, I wish you would post a bit more, but I am getting to know you better. Like all other MBers I would be really sad if you left, so please don’t.
Every MBer is a distinct part of MB. yet, the more you post, the more we know about you guys.
Again, thank you all for your support, I feel a lot more comftarble(misspelled, could you fix that, Alice?). Oh, heck-I’ll go back to GImanator. You can Take I, man-gator off my Identity lists, GAPAs…
Lady Cinnamon – I posted earlier this morning in response to your question about me, but my comment must have been sucked up by the wordpress gremlins. I’m here, but I post more often on weekend than during the week, because of homework. I seem to be doing a lot of lurking, though, because I often find nothing insightful to say.
I, man-gator: I definitely consider you a part of MuseBlog, and would miss you if you left. Though, I don’t seem to go on the same threads as you, you’re a dedicated MBer and definitely make up this great community.
I definitely have a smaller circle of MBers who I feel I know more and would miss more, but everyone who posts regularly (or used to post regularly) is a big part of MuseBlog, and it would be weird without everyone.
Like when MG left, it was really weird because, obviously, she wasn’t there anymore, and it was like an empty space.
THF and I often talk about the MBers we would most like to meet. It’s fun
Would people miss me?
Grant is doing something that not only is a verb but also is a noun describing a type of tree.
I feel that nobody can ever be too old for a place where they can tell anecdotal stories to complete strangers. They’ll be back. Why do you think I keep coming back? Because I can whine as much as I want and nothing will come of it.
Except when vicious, backstabbing traitors rat me out. Don’t worry though- I will find them. I will then bide my time and when the opportunity arises, I will retaliate with the savage ferocity of a wounded bear. I suspect they knew this would probably happen, which is why they decided to hide behind the cowardly screen of anonymity.
I will continue to talk about that until it has been resolved.
235- Am I frequently discussed in that subject? The one about the MBers you’d most like to meet, I mean.
Kagy- I consider you a friend, and you are a distinct part of MB. For a very long time I didn’t know you very well but sometime about a month or two ago I started to get to know you better, and now I most certainly consider you a friend. If you left I’d be confused and sad and start wondering where you were and stalking you to make sure you weren’t dead. Or perhaps not to that extreme. I’ll leave the stalking to Ebeth, but I would try to find your comics eventually.
225- You are indeed on that list. Just because I don’t always reply to your posts and a lot of your ideas aren’t accepted doesn’t mean I don’t notice you.
226- Don’t leave!
227- Aw, gee, thanks, Momo. Not all of that is technically true, but it makes me happy.
229- Because you’re a cool person. You’re not always terribly *nice*, to be completely honest, but no one is, and I don’t really care, honestly.
230- Why exactly are people trying to light your driveway on fire? It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. It seems a rather joyless goal.
234- (Ooh, you have a nice post number; I always love that kind) It’s nice to know I’m loved. It’s kind of weird, though, to be thought of as a role model or something. A bit disturbing, actually.
209-how about controlled pyromania?
238: I don’t know. Probably they were drunk and angry about the fact that they suck at life and I don’t.
(239) You’d have to call it something else — “pyrophilia,” maybe.
GAPAs, l wanted to show my mom my happy birthday thing, but now l can’t find it.
(242) Do you mean the thread or something else?
It’s one of those things that say, “Happy birthday, abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz!” and look like threads, but when you click on them, it only shows a page that has the title and the fold on it.
(244) Sorry, agagabagabag, but those are taken down after a few days.
Oh, l didn’t realize that.
I’ve been feeling a bit… lurker-ish(?) lately, and I tend to read posts more then I actually post. Of course, there was a period of about a week where I couldn’t go on the computer because I hadn’t cleaned my room yet (That ended on Thursday). So I think that while people know of me, I’m not the person they’d choose if they could only meet one MBer in real life.
On a brighter note, my Global teacher asked on the first day of school: “What did your father smell like if your mother was a hamster?”. I felt very proud to know the answer.
I also finally watched an episode of the Flying Circus, where the normal people are turned into Scots-people, and I am fervently hoping that it is not considered offensive to people from Scotland, because I found it quite amusing. My father says, however, that I would appreciate some of the humor even more if I grew up with the BBC. Seeing as I didn’t, however, well, oh well.
And I was going to put that on the Monty Python thread, but it was closed.
hi guyz im taking a chance and posting at school, hopefully they won’t notice me… miss you.
good news: we’re getting a new computer that will actually WORK so hopefully i can post again. everyone probably forgot about me though because i posted rather sparsely, and it was way back in august. oh well.
alice, it was funny to read your comment about friends (238) because my mom is convinced that all you guys are online stalkers and i should be spending my time talking to real people that i’ll actually meet. i told her about the kokonvention, but she seems to have forgotten that.
wow, everyone’s talk is so depressing, everybody’s leaving. 218- penty left?!?! or sort of? aww, that’s sad. she’s cool.
i wonder if anyone missed me, but it’s ok if you didn’t cuz i didn’t post a lot.
Purple Panda-Yes. I consider you a part of MB. You’ve been on for quite a while, and have contributed to many threads. So, I would be sad if you left.
Hmmm-kagomix is more like kagy if you want to remember her…sooo…yes I shall remember you by this name.
If I had to pick a MBer to see in person, I guess it would be someone who posts a lot, like PC, or Alice…hmmmm…
*Waits to see if PC is back later today*
248-to tell the truth, I didn’t know who you were. But, now I do.
I am exhausted. I’m writing on the school computers. This is the first time I’ve been able to write forever!
Rosh Hashanah gets longer every year.
Librarian lady is making evil eyes at me and I don’t know if I’m techinically allowed on here. (that shows you how often I come on the sucky school computers)
I can say it’s educational. Meh. I’ve got algebra next. ewww.
235- I was asking because I saw the blog thing when I did a google blog search for museblog, and I was wondering what that was about?
Would people miss me if I left? (Don’t worry, I’m not leaving)
(248) How could we forget someone named “killerchipmunk”? Bienvenue! Ça fait plaisir de te revoir.
One of the difficulties of a close community — absences are the more keenly felt. A couple of MBers took temporary leave, and the blog is trying to adjust to the loss.
On the other hand, a small group like this one is all the more cheered when old friends find their way back. Many veteran MBers stopped by during the summer and will likely visit again once school settles in, if history is any guide. Some, like Gwendolyn and Grant O., have made more visible reappearances of late.
Maybe if you showed your mom pictures from the kokonvention….
247 ~ That’s among my favourite sketches ever. “Charles! Charles, Mummy’s turned into a Scotsman!” and of course the tennis playing blancmanges. xD
I hate when people start asking everyone else’s opinions of them, tempting as it is. It always turns out badly. You all are doing very well though. Haha.
DEPRESSING TOPIC = LEAVING
247- LOL my fave sketch EVAH.
It’s astounding…
time is fleeting, etc.
TIME WARP XD j/k.
What’s really astounding is the fact that I had almost NO HOMEWORK today. Probably b/c I finished everything in class. YAY FO’ ME!
Plus I rode my bike to school today. AWESOMENESS IN A COMPACT METAL FRAME.
253- Yay! GAPA speaking French!
And now, the question that everybody is asking, and that I have wanted to ask for a long time: Am I an important part of MB? What do you think of me as an MBer? You can be as brutally honest as you want, I want to hear it.
Good news, bad news time. Both the good and bad news is the fact that I am completely addicted to MB, and since I started reading other people’s post, I decided I had to post. Why is this bad news? Because I am addicted. I know I need to take a break, and stop getting so emotionally involved in conversations with people I have never met. But I can’t take a break, because whenever I start reading comments, I feel the need to post. Any advice?
241-heh…no.i just looked up pyrophilia. reminiscent of necrophilia.
227- I can’t leave. I’m addicted. if I left I would get MB withdrawl symptoms and die. I love this place too much to leave!
232- i would SOOOO miss you if you left. I want you here.
234- I post basicaly everyday, but I don’t post on every thread I guess is what you mean. yeah, if a thread is too long I won’t read it unless I know i’ve posted before, but eventualy I post everywhere.
238- thanks, I’d stalk you too if you left. just to make sure you hadn’t died. in february I started posting but then I think I stopped and then, this summer I came back and got so adicted it’s not funny. Someday I will be published and when that happens I will notify you guys. you are so awsome, I hope you know that.
256- w00t, we have the same problem. there should be an MB rehab thread. ah the irony (that’s the right word right?)
248- Penty didn’t leave she just doesn’t post much.
elaborations and things:
Alice, you are such a cheerful person and, though you came later than some, a great part of MB.
Kagy, though you (and probably no one else either) don’t have as many posts as Alice, I do see you around as a part of MB and as a friend.
Purple Panda! You’re one of the people that I’ve known for ages and grow close to over all the years months. (Museblog hasn’t been around *that* long…)
I definitely agree that absences in a close/small-group of people are more noticed. And really, MuseBlog wouldn’t be the same without everyone, and I don’t even want to think about what would happen if I had to leave, or if MuseBlog shut down or something (in which case, I would probably die).
THF and I talk about how much of our lives it has become…and it’s great because you always know you have flamablamablous friends all the time, with whom you can have both intelligent and silly discussions. But also, it’s kind of strange to see how obsessed you are with something, especially something that isn’t as trustworthy (internet vs. real physical life) like the internet. But still, it’s such a fantastic place and I love it so much
…I can see Robert thinking “These kids are crazy,” because he was saying at the Kokonvention that some people are too serious about MB and need to go outside a little… Robert – I would be outside right now, (with my computer) but it’s quite cold.
(261) Maybe I really meant that I need to get outside more.
235- I would most definitely miss you. You were the first person to pie me, actually. (Nice as it would be, I don’t remember that. I saw it when I looked at the first thread I posted on.) I didn’t actually feel like I knew you till SF, though.
I don’t talk to Opal about MB a lot, but I think far too much about which MuseBloggers I would want to meet, and in what circumstances. It’s sort of interesting to see the different imaginary kokons I plan depending on who was attending.
236- What are you talking about? *bewildered*
237- Mm. True, you sort of fade into the background, but when you do come out I like to hear what you have to say. I think it would be fun to meet you, espcially in a bookstore. Or a library.
I’ve never seen that Monty Python skit.
248- Actually, I am a stalker. Not an online one, and not an evil one, but I am a stalker. I’m really bad at it, too. I can’t find the girl I’m supposed to be stalking. I think I’m sort of getting it down, though. She reminds me of what I always thought Shadowkat would be like, before seeing the kokon pictures.
I did wonder vaguely where you were, but I never really knew you well enough to “miss” you. Only I guess I did miss you, seeing as I started to wonder what happened to you…
252- Blog thing? Maybe I should search MB.
Yes, I would miss you.
253- Agreed.
254- I held out as long as I could, but there’s definitely a spark of vanity in me, and I wanted to know what people’s perceptions of me were. I’d be just as happy to know someone hated me as I would be to know someone looked up to me. Of course, then I would pry even deeper.
256- I know, it’s AWFUL. I find it so hard not to post. Little laptop computers with touchpads help, though.
259- On MB? That’s sad, Kagy. Really sad.
Just kidding. I understand completely.
Okay, so it’s still a bit pathetic, and yes, ironic, but I would probably be one of the addict, so I shouldn’t say that.
261- What! *gives long lectures about how she walks to school every day, uphill both ways, in the snow* Not really. But I do walk into town a lot.
I actually think, in a blasphemous way, that it would be good for us MB shut down. However, I would be horrified and miserable if it did, so I hope it won’t.
Freshman Transitions was actually FUN today. We had to draw shapes without looking at the paper except in a mirror. It was really hard.
(263) But, Alice, if the blog shut down, what would happen to the MB-addicted GAPAs?
Hmm. Guess they could start the MBRB, the MB Rehab Blog.
253- I’m terribly flattered to be grouped with the Man of the Chair, even if it is by such a loose categorization as returning. Makes me feel all special.
IMPORTANT TO GWEN’S WARPED INNER PSYCHE
Would anybody miss me if I left? I doubt it, as I’m not the most incredible blogger that ever lived. I’d like to think somebody would occasionally go “hey, what happened to Gwen?”, though. I miss the Skipper, Penty, and Otzi very much. Such wonderful bloggers. Oh, emogrl, too. She had irrepressible wit, and I lurved it.
My younger sister has a fever of 104.7 from a virus that’s going around here. Poor little thing… she’s only four.
264- I hate to say this, but they would probably be too busy escaping their kidnappers to do anything of the sort. Why else would the blog shut down?
And we would rescue you, of course.
And that would be good for us because we would finally get outside.
Except for that little matter of MB no longer being around for communication.
Yes, that plan has flaws. Try not to get kidnapped, GAPAs dear.
That last post was supposed to be under this name, not that one.
265- I would miss you a lot, Gwen. We’ve sort of clicked.
(266) We’ll do our best to stay kidnap-free.
And thanks, best laugh I’ve had in a couple of days, especially that bit about finally getting outside.
Hey Alice, do you think about meeting me? if so, where?
268- I’m ever so glad. About all of that.
I just saw a video of a girl I know rolling a kayak with a bowling ball. Jeez. I can’t even roll with a paddle.
She can also roll with a flip-flop, a squirt gun, and assorted other misc. items. These last I have seen.
269- Yup! On a roof, of course. Or else in a bookstore, or a tea shop.
(263) I’m gearing up to upgrade our WordPress software, so it’s perfectly possible that the blog will shut down for a little while. Such things never work perfectly on the first try. Any weekend now… I’ll post a warning beforehand so you’ll know we haven’t been abducted by bunnies. (Of course, knowing the bunnies, that’s just when they’ll make their move. Insidious devils.)
I asked this in post 256, but didn’t get an answer, and I have wanted to ask it for a long time: Am I an important part of MB? What do you think of me as an MBer? You can be as brutally honest as you want, I want to hear it.
265-OH NO WE NEED YOU DOCTOR COME BACK PLEASE!!!!!!!!! Can’t you help your sister?
272-Ooh, what will change?
273-You’re RavenHawk, right? Or is that wrong? *confused* anyway, I like either one or both of you, or if you’re the same person, you’re still an important part of the blog. Was that ok? Ok, that meant “yes” in english
Sorry for being away for so long…
Nice picture!
RtH
272- *gulp* Oh no! And oh yes. What will the upgrade be like?
273- Oh yeah. Sorry, I forgot.
You are an important part of MB, as is everyone, but you don’t post so much that I feel like I know you really well. I’d like to know you better, but you don’t say much. You’re just a figure sitting at one end of the table, engrossed in your homework/book/magazine, occasionally joining in a heated debate, sometimes getting up and leaving for a short time, and every so often coming out of your world to ask a question or two and say something and then drifting back into yourself.
I love envisioning the blog as a big room with a round table in the middle and all sorts of couches and bookshelves and desks all around. It’s so much fun to imagine where everyone is sitting. Not necessarily with a “center of the conversation”, but more going by personality and mood. Most of the time I would sit in a big armchair off to the side of the table a little, with a big book, and talk from there (I don’t get much reading done), but I would get up and join random conversations, or move over to sit somewhere else if there was something interesting going on.
Woah. Got a little carried away there. Anyway, where do you think you would sit?
HAWK! You’re back! *gives big gift-wrapped box of chocolate* What were you doing that kept you away so long?
274- Yes, I was Ravenhawk, and originally I was Random Dark Cloud.
274- Only if you start posting more on the blog in general, darlin’. And, as I’ve said before, I’m not a real doctor, I only play one on MB.
275- Very interesting description. I like that very much, actually.
265, and 273-Don’t go away. Even if I don’t know you quite as well as I’d like(Gwen-Angry at me on pie war?I’m not sure Traggle-You left a little while, but I appreciate your concern for civility on MB) I’d miss you both, you guys are a chunk of the blog that I don’t want to see go away, even if you are foreign.
I feel so left out all of a sudden. People 50 posts back are being curious and asking questions and not even considering that I should be there. Not my fault that I have something after school pretty much every day. And high school’s harder.
I will, eventually, write about Cicero. I’m sure you’re all dying to find out. (:)) Right now I still have homework. This is a break after 45 minutes of practicing my seating audition for concert band.
I’m an important part of the blog, right? Haven’t I passed some sort of one year mark where I become part of the MuseBlog scenery…?
*ego and vanity wait to be fed* I know I’m being self-centered but I need to ask anyway…
She’s describing the student lounge at Muse Academy. That’s in addition to the four Common Rooms, one for each house.
attention!
the oldest RRRs on the MuseBlog have been REOPENED! please use the search box in the upper right connor and search for RRR, go to the second page, and click on anthing from free form to 2006.5!
‘riters of the blog, go!
Good news everyone! My cooking skills have been upgraded from pasta and canned soup to cooking things in olive oil. Mostly okra, potatoes, chicken, and eggs. With hot sauce.
(275) Well, I’d be sitting on the floor, shoes off, near the fireplace, whether there is a fire burning or not. From time to time I’d just lean against a chair and listen to the music of all those conversations.
275- in a hard plastic chair, at a table somewere.
I prefer to think of museblog as a lot of rooms, and people move from one room to the next.
AACCKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!! Geez, gone for two days and look what happens! A billion posts to read…. Ah well, I’m back for the moment.
287- yeah, and we still have three days on this therd!
284~ Wow, you have surpassed me. I can make: Hash browns, potatoes, rice, toast, frozen veggies, ravioli from a premade container and beans out of a can. *bows* I had to make my own dinner tonight.
I’m freezing. It’s been super cold here all of a sudden. Brrrr. *shivers*
The big, comfortable room would correspond to the monthly random thread.
By the way, Lasley House is reputed to have the best fireplace at MA.
GAPAS, could ou put post 283 on the main page?
jeeshers people, i would miss you ALL. Every single person here is a part of the blog, and there will always be a hole when somebody leaves, whether it’s after a week or a year. The museblog is naturally inclusive, and it really feels like people become members after their third or fourth post (or perhaps their welcome pie :D) And when people do decide to leave, the blog does go on, but there’s always something missing. (Yes, even with fridgey)
Ooh, i’d probably be sitting around awkwardly trying to listen to three or four conversations at once, and maybe commenting once or twice. Either that or over in Alice’s book corner If there’s a window, i’ll be near it. I’d probably be listening to music too. I’d be in the Barefoot Club (w00t rebecca!) and probably be curled up in a big, squishy chair. Either that or jumping around, depending on how hyper i am
Bill had her trenchcoat today, so we played Trenchcoat Tag at lunch. Trenchcoat Tag is where you tag the person with the trenchcoat, and then they take it off and you put it on. Everybody has to stay where they are while you put it on, and then you start running around again. It works best with less people. It’s usually me, bill, and michelle
272 (Robert) – what new features come with the new wordpress software?
282 (Robert) – why only 4 Muse Academy houses? That seems strange – what are the houses? If I were creating Muse Academy houses, I would have 9 – one for each Muse!
And while we’re talking about how much we love other MBers and such, I would like to take time to appreciate our flamablamablously amazing GAPAs.
THF and I were talking today (yes, basically the only thing we talk about is MuseBlog, we’re really that obsessed), and we were talking about who inspires us most/is our “hero” type person. (Well, the conversation didn’t start as a MB conversation, but soon migrated there). And as we were thinking, I thought about how Robert is really someone who inspires me and such – you/he is just so cool and fantastic and brilliant, and everything like that. Also, Robert has a supercool career, and works for Muse, which is what I want to do when I “grow up.” And, well, he’s just a really amazing person
Other GAPAs – you’re flamablamablous too, you just weren’t our current topic of conversation.
Ohhhh…I see why there are 4 houses – one for each GAPA! But then wouldn’t it be MuseBlog Academy, instead of just regular Muse Academy? Ahh, well. I get it now
…Sorry for the double post.
I think the Lasley house would also be the most visual-artistic, with the best-decorated common room!
Hmmm…I’d probably be sitting in a beanbag chair next to a small group of people…and fiddling with something…like a book/laptop/voodoo doll…hmmm, actually since there’s an Alice corner where people are, I’d be over there…hmmm…it’s kinda hard for me.
on second thought. It’d be more like everywhere at once, but distracted with something…what do other people picture me as doing…I’m not entirely sure…
There are always four houses in British schools. J. K. Rowling didn’t invent that convention for Hogwarts. And it’s only fair to name them after GAPAS: the Academy is likely to exist in cyberspace long before it reaches the bricks-and-mortar stage.
Thanks for the extremely kind and most affecting words, by the way.
gee. Which one am I in? Maybe the Robert one?
All the GAPAs are so amazing.
Hmm, so how wold the students bo ‘sorted” into the houses? And, would they get time with the other GAPAs as well? I’d probably be in Paul’s, because of my obsession with historical music.
Yes, I kind of figured that 4 houses were common, but I was thinking there would be one for each Muse, (sorry, I forgot about the GAPAs), and I thought it was strange because some of the Muses would be left out. But I DEFINITELY think the GAPAs deserve to have the houses named after them. After all, they practically founded it
Could we have a Muse Academy thread? We could formulate a curriculum and discuss houses, etc. – it would be fun!
I wonder which house I would be in…what do people think?
I have to say, this has been one of the most focused-topic random threads I have ever seen in MuseBlog history. Which, I counted yesterday, has been 19 months (of my MB time). That seems like so little…
And Baker is a family name for me! Don’t worry, it’s not my name, and I doubt you’ll be able to find me by that.
Okay, sorry for the double post, if it turns out to be one.
(300) A house for each Muse does make sense. We GAPAs are strictly bloggish creatures. You can sort out the details on the MA thread, which I’ll create now and then go to bed.
K i got really bored and made a “what MA house are you in?” quiz, can i post the url? i think it’s got an ad, but i don’t remember…
What? It’s not that late!! Oh, well, maybe it is…goodnight.
(284) Mmmmm. Okra. I’ve been cooking up a lot of that lately too, USEGO. The farmer’s market here has some that are purple but turn dartk green as you cook them (preferably sauteed in olive oil with some onions and tomatoes). It’s like a magic trick.
It’s 11:11 where i am
oh wait, now it’s 11:12 :'(
Speaking of houses, that RPG forum my friend Edmund started had a school with only 2: those of Fire and Blood. He was forced to delete it after not being able to inspire enough interest. It was my idea, but he was supposed to run the show. I suppose it’d make good book material.
(284, 305) Have either of you tried roasted okra? It is amazing. Like no other okra I’ve ever had. Not the teensiest bit slimy either.
I toss the okra lightly with oil, vinegar, and some dried herbs (whatever is handy, I especially like the mix called herbes de Provence) then roast them at 450 degrees about 10 minutes. Asparagus does well that way, too (adjusting time depending on how skinny the stalks are).
307-i thought he was your cousin…
300-Lasley house! Or at least, I think you should be there.
308- I heat up some olive oil in a frying pan, keeping a lid close by. I then put the okra, which I have chopped into pieces as long as the last joint on my middle finger, into it, along with whatever else I may be cooking (possibilities include potatoes or chicken). I lightly salt the ensemble, cover it, and turn down the heat before it spits and stings. After it has been cooked to my taste, I put it on a plate and sprinkle hot sauce over it. Delicious. We grow our own okra, but last year the rabbits ate the stalks so we didn’t get any.
309- He was my cousin’s friend, but now I count him among mine.
I saw Superbad on Saturday, before I somehow became less coherent than usual. It was off the (*******) chain! \m/ *…* \m/
Okra is okay, but it can get so slimy, eew. I’ve had it a few times when it’s actually really good. I love the mix Herbs de Provance, yumyumyum. Now I’m all hungry. *looks around for food, preferably warm* *ends up eating an apple and shivering*
G’night all, it’s 12:30, and I’m falling asleep on the keyboard.
Midnight Fiddler (313): I could see that you wouldn’t like okra if you don’t like slime. Lucky for me, I like slime fine.
USEGO (311): Sounds delish, especially with the hot sauce.
I forgot to mention, I sprinkle cayenne pepper and salt on the okra/veggie mix just before eating. And for a special bonus (don’t read this, vegetarians) I dice smoked ham and mix that in during the sauteeing phase. It’s from humanely raised pigs, so I don’t feel grossed out and guilty. It’s so good — I’ve been eating this okra dish nearly every day for the past two weeks!
254-I was laughing so much when I saw it!
272-Oooh. But why would the bunnies… ? *is abducted by pink fluffy creatures with two long ears* Oh no! Help!
As a transplant from the east coast to south it is my sworn duty to hate okra with a passion.
I will admit, it is slightly biased on my part, but I have never tried it.
When is the weekend coming? Grrrrr
(313, 315) I swear, though, roasted okra retains no trace of slime.
265- Penty’s still here! And Skipper too. They’re just sporadic.
OMG sweaty sweaty sweaty. It’s FREAKING 80 DEGREES OUT
and I had to bike home from school with a sweater around my neck! *dies of heatstroke*
I’m doing more photoshopping now than ever, though it’s mostly maximum ride-themed.
315-vinegar? odd.
319-maximum ride…. there’s a new one, and i have to wait till the library gets it…
PLeeeaaaaasssseeee can we have another dance thread?
I throw in some almonds, but I don’t know if that’s a typical okra addition.
I think Heinen’s bacon is from humanely raised pigs. I have no problem with eating meat, because I make a point of not thinking about where it comes from. Fried okra as I have described it retains no vestiges of slime whatsoever.
Yesterday in Sociology we were talking about organ theft. It made that demmed sympathetic reaction my nervous system does kick in. So I lay on the floor for about five minutes. I was told I turned a shade of green, which some people had never seen before. This made me wonder: what color do I usually turn? Once before I was told I got really pale, which didn’t surprise me.
Okay. In French class today we played a game where everyone had a name tag only they didn’t know who was on it (they were all celebrities that everyone’d previously written on there) I was some guy in the Office which I’d never seen. Of course, everyone had to gape and say “you haven’t *heard* of him?!?” That really annoys me. I didn’t write down Jane Yolen because I wanted to write down someone that everyone would know. Tom Cruise would be a much better answer than the guy from the Office because he’s been in many more mainstream movies than just one tv show. I guess it’s not just this situation either; it’s people’s faces when they find out I haven’t seen Disney’s Beauty and the Beast or Disney’s The Little Mermaid though I know both stories. Just because something is mainstream doesn’t mean that absolutely everyone has seen it and just because someone hasn’t seen/heard of something doesn’t mean you need to gape at them and say “OMG OMG HOW have you not seen that? EVERYONE has!!! You must be some sort of outcast….”
I hate that.
Yes, I’m sorry I haven’t been on in so long. School takes a bit more time than last year now, and I have been spending some time outside. We are also planning for a yard sale on Saturday.
But I do have a bit of “exciting” news for you: I have just been diagnosed with Lyme Disease. That explains the “mono” symptoms earlier this summer, as well as all of the joint problems. I am taking the medicine now.
276-Yay! I was missed! *Gobbles chocolate*
It is a bit chilly here…
Okra? I have never tried it. I’ll ask the Parental Units…
Red-tailed HAWK
I say, has there ever been a Pirates vs Ninja thread? Well, it has just been rendered obsolete by words of wisdom from Cap’n Slappy, creator of TLAPD: “…the fact remains that Pirates and Ninjas have an evil enemy which will require them to join forces to stave off the madness that this enemy intends to inflict upon us all!
‘Who be this ruthless force for wickedness in the universe?’ ye may ask. Clowns. They must be stopped!”
I think a much better question is this one right here. Which would win- Pirates or Norsemen?
274- DUDE! YOU’RE BACK! i missed you.
275- I would be sitting in an armchair with my knees close to my chest drawing or flipping through comics at the table. probably close to you or R-tH or Cappy. and probably accross from Giminator and agagabagabag.
281- c+q- you’re totaly awesomely there.
I don’t know what okra is.
What house would I be in? I think the Lastly one.
I’d be sitting somewhere writing, or flipping through a book or drawing or something off to the side near the books. I’d be near-ish to some interesting conversations though not in the center of everything.
327- *Faints* You included me!
Slooow day. l guess this is my punishment from the homework goddess for blogging when l should be working.
326-and what of ninja pirates?
327-C++D would be sitting next to me, too, likely. Same with Trojan Tiger, I think. And soon-to-be-fellow-MBer, and my sister “Ieatcatflavoredtangerines”. I’ve got quite a group of people, now, that follow me.
I’d be standing by the door, slowly walking in, and then hanging upside by the biggest window, then suddenly darting then back out because my writer;s block has dissapeared our the kitchens have blown up or something, then I’d go back to hanging.
Note: would each thread be a seperate room? Or would they just be conversations in the common room?
280- I’m an angry child. Don’t take it personally.
Hm… I’d be engrossed in my TIME magazine, ranting inchoerently about world issues every now and again. Lying on my stomach near a window. It’d be a rainy window, and I would be on the carpet. Wehn I grew bored with reading TIME, I’d move on to Muse, and then I would set about the room with my hair gewgaws, committing cosmetological atrocities to any MBer whose hair was long enough. And I wouldn’t warn you. I’d just randomly come behind you and start messing with it.
each MBer has a personal climate, it seems.
275 ~ Your description of Traggle sounds like me mostly. I would be off to the side, maybe lying on a rug, reading a book and maybe listening to some music, but every once in a while sitting up to add my two cents. Maybe somewhere near c+q to make her explain various mathematical-ish things that I don’t understand. xD (My high school does have a math team btw. I don’t know if I can go to the meeting though…) In real life I would be like that half the time and bouncing around trying to talk to everyone the other half. I’m not so great at that online though. Heh.
281 ~ You’re the person I know best on MB and we seem to have a ton in common so I would definitely miss you a lot if you left, although I’m sure we’d still bump into each other at band competitions! xD
everyone else ~ Since I’ve been away a lot, I don’t know a lot of you all that well and I’m sure the same is true about me for you guys for the same reason, but I always enjoy reading your posts and every person who leaves does leave an empty niche in such a close-knit group as this.
284 ~ I can usually follow a recipe but I can barely do anything in the kitchen without instructions.
303 ~ I was just thinking not even fifteen seconds ago that someone should do that. :D
312 ~ I really wanted to see that but…I didn’t. I guess it’s still in theatres but I doubt I’ll have time before it’s gone.
319 and other weather comments ~ It’s been cold here but it’s getting warmer. I have mixed feelings about this.
323 ~ When I get bad migraines I turn pale and greenish and start throwing up. Thankfully that’s only happened two or three times.
324 ~ Never seen The Office either. Although I’ve heard of Steve Carell if that’s who it was (the only person that I know is on the Office).
332- What about me?
338-you, my follower, were already included in the previous comment.
Look bub. l only follow you in the pie wars. Without me, none of you would be here. l’m the only MBer in town who actually reads muse, and l Gimanator is the big-shot. This isn’t right. If anything, you should be my follower. Get it right: I DON’T FOLLOW YOU!!!! If you run a group, l’m either not a follower or not in it.
Uh, yeah, um, Office Space is much better… than The Office….. yeah. In fact, I’m going to just go ahead and need you to…… not claim otherwise. Yeah, if you could do that, that would be great.
326-Vikings
335-ooh, time lurve
one of the editors is coming to our library to talk about a book he helped write or something like that, i’m not very well-informed…anyhoo
342- I concur. I once had a long argument with someone on this subject. They ended up being succulently crushed underneath my delicious logic.
281- I don’t feel that I know you very well, no offense. Once again, 87. Midnight Fiddler | September 17th, 2007 at 9:01 pm
AACCKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!! Geez, gone for two days and look what happit’s just that we don’t hang out on the same threads. I do think that I would notice your absence, though, so you must have become part of the scenery sometime or other!
Just kidding. You’re a lot more than scenery, c+q.
282- Sweet!
283- This is going to lose me my place as Amazing Juggler of Hundreds of RRRs and Reviver of Dead Stories, but – I think you should leave them alone. They died ages ago; why do we need to stir them up again?
284- Splendid! I love okra.
I made an onion-less stir-fry once.
286- I’ve thought of it as that, too, but it doesn’t seem as cozy.
303- Ooh! Fun! A quiz!
315- Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm………..
Re: Okra = slim. I’ve only had fresh okra. Provided it was okra at all, which I am beginning to doubt.
323- Sounds unpleasant. I don’t believe I have ever turned green.
325- Oh NO! Lyme disease! *sends more chocolate to help you get better*
332- But do these followers read Muse? I’m deeply disturbed by the recruiting of MuseBloggers who haven’t read Muse.
335- Don’t you TOUCH my hair, Gwen. NO ONE can touch my hair.
I am very mad because they don’t play any music worth hearing (IMHO) at school dances.
341- *goes into a hysterical fir of laughter* I LOVE that movie!
344- because there are good stories!
241- I didn’t say anything about the Office being good. I’ve never even seen it. Which was my point. I said I was bothered by people assuming I’d seen it and gaping at me when they found out I hadn’t. And I’ve seen a bit of Office Space (the only reason I hadn’t seen all was that I had to leave the place where they were showing it, my friend’s house that is) and I liked it.
It’s raining. Grrrr.
241- haven’t seen that either.
340-You just don’t want to admit it.Yarr. *Snort* At least you’re under me on the pie wars.Yarr.
344-not yet they don’t sorry Alice. Yarr.
(275, 293) The new version of WordPress is supposed to have better security features and nicer control panels for moderating — things only GAPAs will notice. We’ll also be on the lookout for new plug-ins to make the blog more fun, useful, and/or navigable.
hi, im a hot pink bunny fan!
Cinnamon Moon
That was my friend, a non muse reader (but that may change!) I keep telling her about MuseBlog and hot pink bunnies, so she wanted to post on MuseBlog.
Red-tailed HAWK! Oh no! I’ve been paranoid about getting lyme disease ever since I first heard about it. But it seems like you’re okay…? *pies with medicine pie*
I’d be reading, or perhaps talking with people, if I had gotten over my shyness. Then, I would be laughing. I had a dream a llloooooooooong time ago that I went to a bad boarding school, and then a nice councilor came, and had me transfer to Muse Academy (That looked suprisingly like Hogwarts). And I was so excited, and then we all went on a boat to a gigantic library. I was really upset, then, when I woke up, because it was a dream. I can’t remember why I didn’t share this on MB earlier. Maybe I did…
325- OMGOMGOMG are you ok?
Hey GAPAs, can you please remove the underscores in my name on the birthday calendar? And the lowercase letters? It should look like this:
Oct 1. Kiki the Great’s birthday etc. etc.
fanks.
I have finished most of my Maximum Ride Awesome Photoshopping and will be sending it shortly. Can you make a PHOTOSHOP THREAD for it to be posted on prlzzzzzzz?? *puppy dog eyes*
329- yeah. I read what you say a lot. because you post a lot. I guess I think of you as an MB friend.
332- so you and your posse would be accross from me. yay!
R-t H~ Of COURSE we would miss you. I hope you’re feeling better. Some of my friends have had that, and it was okay, so I guess you can get over it. Have some more choklit. *hands some over* Better? Good.
I’m feeling rather uninspired. Maybe I’m just weirded out because I’m not on here at my coustomary late hour….. *moseys off to check some other comments*
Greetings, Hotpinkbunnyfan. I’ve got a blueberry pie topped with whipped cream that’s got your name on it. And it’s heading your way. SPLAT. Welcome to MuseBlog.
Am I anyone’s Museblog friend, or do I just qualify as a weird, sometimes amusing guy who keeps hanging around?
you’re definately my MB friend USECGO!! You’re the only one who’s been here longer than I! (minus GAPAs of course) You’re funny and nice and a great MBer and fellow gen 0 er.
*presents self for beating*
I’ve forgotten which issue the article on the Caltech pranks was in. The article involved ‘stacking’ and the line If at all possible involve a cow. I believe one of the pictures associated with it is a pyramid wrapped in hieroglyphics and surrounded by students with books. It is hand drawn. That is all I can remember about it.
I don’t think it was in the last year.
*is pied*
October 2004. You can find it listed here:
https://musefanpage.com/NewFiles/back_issues.html#8.8
speaking of back issues does anyone know where the article on the Alice that Alice in Wonderland was based off of is? maybe it’s in cricket…
357~ I consider any MBer or Muser my friend. Whether I talk to them regularly or not. Therefore, yes, you are my friend. If you want to be.
Hmm, do people feel like they know me?
326- As ebeth said, you can’t beat the Vikings.
Grant, I count you as a friend also. As I do most everyone here. I’m not going to go back up and list you all, even though I just read this whole thread… just be content knowing I’d miss you if you left.
Oh deers, I’m turinging into one of those people who doesn’t come on very much, albeit’s becaue of tennis, hockey, and homeowrk… which I should be doing…
Ooh, I’m getting rich in chocolate! Thanks!
The medicine pie is working!
GAPAs: Maybe this can’t be done, but is there some way to add a spelling checker thing so people with sticky keyboards can quickly check their posts?
RtH of the LivinG dEaD!
(364) I’m not sure whether the new version of WordPress includes a spellcheck option, but I’ll make sure to include one if it’s available.
365~ How much will this change the blog?
And, do people think they know me?
365-Great! Thanks, from Those of the Sticky Keyboards Society! No, somehow my keyboard resists typing certain letters certain days. Either that or my hands don’t hit the keys right.
*munches chocolate*
Uh. Am debugging dish washer. Is making grumbly rattly noises. it sounds like it ate a piece of plastic. No plastic.
366-Know you? Why, yes!
364- the free web browser firefox has a spellcheck.
357- I’m starting to feel like I know you, and you’re not just this cynical figure standing in the background.
359- The Mystery of Osiris. One of the best Muse articles ever.
362- You’re only one of the most active MuseBloggers here. I feel like I know you very well indeed. You also share a lot of my fashion and music tastes. *cougheighteenthcenturycough*
HAWK- You may be able to add a spellcheck to your browser.
the dishwasher is now in many pieces.
362- Well, you’re like the first and third person to respond to my posts, so you’re pretty much the person I know most (not like that’s saying anything). So, maybe.
366~ Thank you, I feel special. I was mostly meaning people that I haven’t met in person. But it’s good to hear that you think you know me!
371~ That’s neat, I also feel like I know you pretty well. I find myself often agreeing with you and looking forward to what you’ll say about something. Thanks to you, as well!
341-*is in absoloute agreement*
326-norsemen! pirates wouldn’t have an ice pop’s chance in hell.
umm.yeah.
about lyme disease… yeah. that sucks. my friend got it… and his leg was messed up for a while. a long while…. his knee had to be drained… huh. yea. it was a bad case of it, antibiotics didnt work, so ill stop scaring you.
370-yep! open source ftw! (i think the new ie and safari ahve it too, but dont tell anyone…) firefox pwnz!!!
373~ Really? That’s cool, I hope you stay.
Lyme disease: My brother had it, took antibiotics and was fine.
373- *pies Andrew with pumpkin pie* Welcome!
357-I would consider you a part of MB. Um…starting to get to know you. You’ve been around a while, but I just started to get to know you…so yeah.
Okay all, I’m going to go before my Mom comes home and finds me still on the computer……. I hope to be back before we leave for rendezvous, but I’m not sure.
I will be away from the blog from Sept. 21-30th. In that time I will be having a wonderful time at a living history event, though missing you all.
That should do it. If I’m not on again before then, fare thee well, hugs, choklit, pies, &c.
357- You would qualify as my MB friend if I knew you better…Sorry…I think you would be a great MB friend, but not knowing you is a little bit of a problem…
I would dearly love to impose my logic upon my PE teacher. I’m not brave enough, though. She’d probably give me a stern answer and an F.
So, in lieu of actually telling her what I would like to tell her, I will tell you guys what I would like to tell her about her fitness-focused PE classes.
I would say something like this:
“Mrs M., why do are we focusing on fitness? If we just played active games more, then we would get the same amount of exercise as if we ran a mile every day, and more people would enjoy the class. And if more people enjoyed the class, then more people would show up, and if more people showed up, then more people would get good grades and you wouldn’t have to fail as many people. And more people would like you, and your PE class would go down in history as the one PE class that everyone enjoyed, and everyone would be happier. Anyone who takes your health class is going to learn about fitness anyway. So why don’t we just play a game?”
You can see why I would never say that, but hopefully you can also see why I wish I could.
What does it mean if Muse doesn’t reply to your letter that you sent in? Does it mean -hopes desperately- that they’re going to publish it? Or does it mean that they just didn’t feel like replying? *dies of suspense*
382 (Alice) – I was wondering the same thing!! I sent a letter in, and didn’t get a reply (it was by e-mail). Does that mean they didn’t get it, or they just don’t feel like replying?
they usually send postcards, right? but they can’t if they don’t have your address…
I was going to say something meaningful here, but by the time I’d read all the comments it was past time to leave for marching band. I meant well, at least. Someday I’ll write about Cicero. Johnstown is this Saturday, hopefully before then. Expect me back in maybe five hours, after marching band and my individual practice. I have to set up stuff.
What? Does no one miss me?! Or did they just figure that if there was any chance of my getting on the computer again I’d do it?
Ah well, anyway, I’m covered in flour. Mom’s baking, oh, only 120 loaves or so. See why she’s called the Bread Lady?!
386- Well, sometimes I’m too lazy to reply something someone else says, and also with two days before you leave, you’re sure to get on sometime.
That’s a lot of bread.
I’m really tired, even though I get out of school early on Thursdays. This may account for my (presumedly) rather morose/glazed look that makes everyone who sees my expression ask if I’m okay. Yes! I’m okay!
Presumedly is not a word, according to spellcheck, but it’s the only one that fits. I can’t see my expression, and I’m really only going on people’s reactions.
I apologize sincerely for not reading all the posts.
School+music=stress. Gah. and no time for MuseBlog.
Gack. I’m dying. Stomach flu. My little sister is still sick with an unrelated illness (she has a nasty cough and a high fever; I have little fever to speak of but have felt like hurling and have had to rushing to the bathroom all day.) All I’ve done is read Nicholas Sparks and catch up on homework. Erglack.
387~ I’m leaving tomorrow. I doubt that I’ll be able to get on again untill Oct. Tomorrow’s going to be hectic, I’m sure.
yes, lots of bread. Mom makes it and then sells it so we can keep doing rendezvous. Rendezvous= ♥
Why didn’t it work? I tried to do one of those hearts….. Oh well.
389~ Oh, I wish you felt better, that sounds awful. *sends choklit*
389- Ugh. Get better soon!
381- more polite way to say it: “Ms.M, I was wondring why we run marathons(or whatever you said) in gym class. I think we would have more fun if we played active games. *smile*
389- Aww. that’s anoying/aweful.
393- True. But it lacks the logic.
Oh dear… I haven’t been on recently, have I? Is the pie war still going on? Have people missed me too much?
Yeah, where were you?
HEAR YE, HEAR YE! I will be gone untill the 1st or 2nd of Oct.
In that time, I will be a rendezvous, playing music every night and having a grand time and spending time with friends, both new and old. I will also do my first paid performance on Fri. Sept. 28, wish me luck. *freaks out* I will return, but untill then, pies, cholkit for those who need it, etc. etc. etc….
Umm…Do I have to explain?
Mom says to add that it is a solo performance. I stand corrected, last year the both of us got paid for playing Christmas carols.
I might point out that a solo performance is much scarier and therefore I will probably mess up more, but now I’m scaring myself….
Anyway, untill then, fondest regards. MF
395- Yes you haven’t, yes it is, and while I have thought about you quite a bit, the actual thought, “Where’s Glassboro?” never crossed my mind.
Bit weird, that.
397- That long? Oh well, ‘bye, have a nice time! (Lucky duck…)
399- Eep.
ah, yes. be seeing you MF.
382- yeah. It probably means they’re gonna publish it. Good for you!
AHHH YOM KIPPUR IS TOMORROW!!!
*dies*
At least I don’t have to fast… I could never do that. eurgh.
402- YES! I knew sending in the birthday HPB would do the trick!
397/399- Good luck! Performance is always fun.
398- Yes, you do have to explain. I did wonder where you were, and the reluctance to do so promises an interesting story.
<trombone and band>
So, I’ll write about Cicero instead of practicing my seating audition because I’m tired. GAPAs, I’m a little unsure what level I should censor this to. I don’t put our school’s name, but I have other school’s and people’s names in there, and somewhat unique competition details.
Got there around 8:45ish, put away garment bag and bag and pretty much everything except trombone, dot book, and water in cafeteria A. Practiced like we would any day until 11:something (lost the paper I wrote all this down on), then we got our stuff and went on the buses. They were coach buses. It was a four hour drive. We did go to a rest stop on the way there. Two meals were eaten in the bus. I sat next to penguini. We played chess with her portable board. I won one game (by the way, we’re both really bad at chess) and the second it depends on the scoring, either she won or it was a draw. Then we played Uno with us and Vinayik, who was in a nearby seat. We ignored the movies being played. I think I listened to music for an hour or so, too. Once there, we changed into full uniforms (it was kind of cold) and looked around the field and practiced some stuff. It was a turf field, it was very bright green and flat. We went on at 8 pm. It almost passed in a dreamlike state for me. Not that it felt surreal or like someone else was doing it, but in the third part I remember being surprised we’d gotten this far. It was easier then I expected, the field was very nice as I’ve said, I liked not having to worry about the elevation changes our practice field has (the new turf field at home will be done next week!). I had been slightly cold before, I was slightly warm after, but even after was nothing compared to what it had been like before we started marching at the football game. Then we talked, got more water (the band parents, I think, had provided water bottles that we shared), watched the home band play their show (not bad, slower than ours and I think a little less tricky moves). Then there were awards. There were six bands in our category (national, for big schools as I understand it) and we got second. **** beat us by two or three points (as I recall, we got a 79.6 and they got 82.something). Then we changed out of uniforms the way we had into them (on the bus, obviously segregated by gender) and drove four hours home. At one point they played the show for us, it looked good but the screen was so tiny I couldn’t find myself even when I knew the formations. I listened to music (especially some Coldplay songs Jadestone had recently sent) and tried to sleep the whole way back. No luck. Then, almost in a daze, I gathered my belongings and found a parent, at slightly past two in the morning. Talking to mom on the drive home, she said **** had a slower show and an easier one, but they did with the colorguard. (Our theme is Color Series, we sometimes pass through the colorguard and once spin as their flags go up. Their theme is The Flight of Icarus, reportedly the costumes have wings. Not fair. Our colorguard costumes were late, they hadn’t even come in yet. You can’t take off points for that!)
Anyway, that was Cicero. Next is Johnstown, on Yom Kippur. I think we’re the only band in our category there, we should do well.
In other random news: Dad says that maybe after marching season is over in November or December, we can take his trombone to the instrument place and get the slide undented and it maybe refinished so it’s shiny again and a new non-moldy case so I can use it better for concert band in school. Joy! * In concert band our section needs to find a way to put up a shelf in the communal locker. People who don’t have convenient real lockers are using it for that purpose and while that’s OK and there’s much space at the top, there’s only room for the 4 trombones to fit standing up on the bottom. * We had a marching band sectional on Wednesday. It was very fun but I’ll be sensitive to the fact that we have elementary-school-aged bloggers here and not repeat the best parts, which are definitely not appropriate. * Marching band on Thursdays is not fun. I’m so not in the mood to march for the last hour. I never could quite get the hang of Thursdays.
My feet are very cold. My toes are practically numb. WHY? WHY? WHY must it be so cold in September?
I should probably study for the Health test tomorrow or clean my room or something, but my feet are too cold to move, so there.
Tomorrow is the fun day! We have Science (bottle rockets), Acting, Frehsman Trans (two thumbs way down), and Spanish (easy but fun). A 75% score isn’t too bad, and better than Thursday’s and Tuesday’s 50% score.
Oh, I should go compose my outfit for tomorrow. Will that get me out of my chair? Noooooooooo…
We have a housewarming party on Saturday. Wheefun. Especially if B can come.
My house really needs warming, too.
Speaking of friends, one of these days I am going to ride the L bus with K and go hang out downtown and maybe go get a wasabi-ginger-ale from my mother’s work. Mmmm.
Grant is beginning to lose all hope. Ah, elusive, wonderful 42, why must you torment me in this way?
Wow, quick moderation. Am l your only source of entertainment at tis hour?
ungh… I’ve got a nasty bug. Probably the flu. Every year I get the flu at least twice. I’m the only one in my family who gets it.
I couldn’t sleep and I am insanely bored.
402- yom kippur starts today funfun fun. Luckily, since I’ve been sick I don’t have to fast. Though now that I think about it, I’d prefer fasting to being sick.
408- Yeah, I had the flu about a day before I started coming here regularly (about two days ago).
SQUEEEE!
I just found out that my school library has Muse archives!! Going all the way back to 2000! OMGOMGOMG! I think I’ll go there every day after school and read an issue. XD
Gah. Still- sick. Must- heal- so I- can watch- movies- with- my- friends- tomorrow! Must- stop- talking- with- only- a few- syllables- at a- time!
411-Oh! I hope you are better soon! Being sick is awful!!!!!!!!!
Oh no!!! Sorry for the double post by the way, but the vegetarianism thread is dead!!!!
404 ~ You’re going to be at my competition tomorrow I think. You guys are competing about 45 minutes after us. I’m not sure if we’re staying after we’re done though, as we certainly won’t be receiving awards since it’s our first competition and our band isn’t as competitive (well, that’s a euphemism. I mean good. You got a 79.6 in your first show. Well, according to our band boosters website, last year we got a 76.3 in our last show, and that was the highest score) as yours anyway. Based on what time we’re supposed to get home though I’d say we’ll be there. Maybe I’ll see you.
Why are all the schools getting new turf except us? You guys are and the place where the competition is tomorrow is…our football field is pretty nice though. I think. (The turf is springy! Hehe!) But yeah, we had all these rumours going around that the -c+q’s school- invitational was going to be at our field since you’re getting new turf. But…it’s not. We’re having our own invitational in two years or something.
Our team actually won a football game last night. A landslide victory of 13-10. :’D
I’m failling Spanish. Which means I won’t get into High School next year. We have a huge test coming up and I’m clueless.
415- I can try to help if you wish.
416-That would be great! I having a lot of trouble with spelling, so if you know anything that would help, i would appreciate it.

That’s all I’m typing for now. If you’d give me actual words you needed help with, I have my Spanish dictionary right here and all of my notes from 4 years of it are in the closet behind me
Wow. Thanks. I’m getting the list of words that might be on the test on monday.
Whew. My computer got a virus, that’s why I haven’t been on la computadora. How is everyone?
by the by, this is Elentari speaking. I’m trying out new names.
I can help too. I went to an immersion school and am pretty fluent and in Spanish six. Do you need other tenses? differences between ser/estar (ser is permanent; estar is not. You would say “Eres muy bonita” and not “Estas muy bonita.” because prettiness (suposedly, well you don’t want to indicate that someone fluctuates between pretty and ugly a lot…) is permanent.
Spelling: the letters usually sound the same way all of the time (they don’t change sounds like in English) If you are having trouble with accents in spelling think about the difference between papa (potato) and papá (father, dad). Papa is pronounced with no emphasis on any part (pa-pa). Papá on the other hand is pronounced with an accent (hence the term accent mark I suppose) on the last “pa” sound (pa-PA).
err… If you want more specific help just ask. I explained two random things I could think of that you might be having troubles with. Good luck! I hope you pass!
leer- to read
ciéncia – science
arte- art
escribir – to write
jugar fútbol – to play soccer
jugar béisbol- to play baseball
tocar un instrumento – to play an instrument
No quiero vivir como esto. No puedo vivir como esto. Este no es una carta de suicidio, yo quiero simplamente decir a alguien como sentirme.
Ah! Spanish! I like Spanish. Speaking of which, I need to do my Spa. HW sometime before next Friday. Ooh, big pressure.
We had our first acting assignment today. Basically, we played ourselves in a highly abbreviated version of a school period.
We had to walk onto stage, sit in one of the two desks, switch desks, raise our hand and be ignored, and walk off stage. We all had our backpacks with paper and pen and stuff to help, and it was much fun.
If I ever become a raving lunatic, blame my sister.
