Mostly Harmless: the Theme Park

This is the first time I’ve ever been described as aiding and abetting world domination. Amazing.
So far we have two rides: “Pythagoras,” in the Urania section, and “Pie Mountain” in the Kokopelli section. There are sections for all the Muses.
there should be something having to do with paperclips and proton excelerators in chad’s section….
Ooohhh, what about a HPB ryde? That would be the best ryde ever.

2- The Proton Accelerator, with a track in the shape of a giant bent paperclip.
3- The park will be circular, divided into pie slice-like sections, with a giant HPB ride at the hub. Its name and slogan below.
THE BUNNY
Resistance is Museless
Weee! This is gonna be awesome. Unfortunately I am idea-less at the moment. I will return, though.
The Aeiou ride is Cybereye. You go through all these barrel rolls and then drop into underground tunnels with tons of holographic effects.
In the Feather section, there is a drop-ride thing ten miles tall (
) shaped like a carrot and the part that holds the passengers is shaped like a donut.
In the Craw section, there is a wild roller-coaster with a giant net attached to the front such that it seems like you are always just about to be captured!
Red-tailed HAWK
The rides, while the main attractions, are not the only thing in the park. For instance, there’s the planetarium in Urania, the botanical gardens in Feather, etc.
7- Feather ride is Donut of Doom. Crraw ride is Flight.
We need rides for Bo and Mimi. Pwt’s is THE ANIMAL, which is always printed in capitals. It’s the most likely to cause nausea with all its loop-the-loops.
OOH! How about Bo’s is called Pamplona. (I know she’s not a bull, but still…)
Feather’s Ride #2
A ride through a transperent underground tunnel. It’s more like a baby ride, because there’s a whole bunch of tubers with signs outside them with their Wikipedia article copied and pasted.
At the end, there’s a dounut you ride through and you get sprinkled with sprinkels.
Anyone have a suggestion for Mimi? I’m out of ideas.
12- mimi’s ride start’s out “small world” ess. then kokopelli takes over and the ride goes ut of control.
13- Mimi fans might not like that.
In Pamplona, the last car is a large bull mannequin on tracks, so it looks as if the coaster is being chased by an enraged bull.
(10) Half of Bo’s ancestors were bulls. I’d say that’s close enough.
Mimi’s ride is Peace Out. The track has a ton of zigzags and quick turns near the ground.
How about one of those Tilt-a-Whirl rides designed to look like a big group hug? Except that when you strap in, you also put on headphones that tell you how wonderful you are.

w00t! There’s also pie-throwing booths scattered throughout the park (because, after all, it’s not as if any of the Muses have remained untouched by THAT particular asspect… :lol:)
The Bunny ride would, of course, be hot pink and preferably bunny-shaped.

Pwt’s area has a jungle safari virtual reality ride. There’s seats surrounded by a huge screen on all the walls and the ride tilts so it feels like you’re on a truck moving around.
We should have a restaurant in each area too! Craaaw can have a coffee shop and Koko and Feather can have a pastry shop and the other ones can have stuff.

Bo needs ride.. hmmm Bo makes me think of grass… how about a random field of grass in the middle of the park….jazz it up a bit…. hmmm.. I GOT IT there is a random stretch of grass in the middle of the park with AN ICE CREAM STORE in the middle but little do you know that paintball snipers are waiting on the edges, ready to take you out before you get the ice cream. It’s a WIP. (I have slight problems with mental violence)
How about a ride for Bo with a GIGANTIC slide? You tacke the Boavator up to the top, get in a pod and slide down the track! (Covered with grass to slide faster).
Not bad. I also like PC’s idea of a Pamplona ride, though I probably wouldn’t try it.
Oh gosh. I’ve got it! Kokopelli’s ride… You go through a tunnel in a car shaped like a pie an there are paintball guns that shoot pie at you.

45: Hey, calm down! It’s all right… everyone is nanoing right now, so they’re kinda busy. Plus November seems to be the month that teachers decide to give extra homework (at least in my school). Like, for instance, I have to get ready for an orchestra concert now even though it’s not till this afternoon. So I’ll be back, hopefully soon.

So. Besides the rides, there will be museums and stuff. In Kokopelli, a history of the pie. Chad and Aeiou share an Exploratorium-like building. Urania has a planetarium. Feather has botanical gardens. Crraw has a library. Pwt has a wild animal park (over which the ride goes). Bo’s Miscellaneous Museum contains everything that didn’t fit into any other museum but was just too cool to leave out.
Now for an important question: Where do we put it?

One can enter through four gates. Each gate has two sub-gates which lead into different sections of the park. Coontz Gate, in the north, leads into Chad and Urania. Lasley Gate, in the west, leads into Aeiou and Feather. Spector Gate, in the south, leads into Mimi and Pwt. And Baker Gate, in the east, leads into Crraw and Bo. Kokopelli is at the center.
All gates can be reached from any point on the outside of the park, because a scenic sidewalk runs around the circumference. This is called Prokopiw Path.

We can have an IMAX dome with special seats for the IMAX film Cosmic Collisions. Urania would like that. (And Koko might, too, because stuff blows up.)

We can have an annual picnic day where everybody hangs around and makes Muse themed food, crafts, and we can have some of those corny mini contests like they have at fairs, but with actually interesting stuff like writing and poetry.
And everything about the park would be pubished with it’s own column in the Moos Noos, headed by Bo, of course.
An arcade would be cool.
We should definitely make a map…
Are each of the Muse’s areas going to be the same size or are some (Kokopelli, Urania, Chad, Feather) going to be bigger than others (Craww, Aeiou, Pwt, Mimi, Bo)
I just sent two e-mails, one of which contained the map I just very quickly made, and the other of which I forgot to attach the map to. GAPAs, you can ignore the one without the image, but I would appreciate it a ton if you could post the other one here. ^_^

Back to the whole thing, I think there should be a music center in the center. Since there are seven muses, there should be a day of music for each of them. Koko’s would be a day of percussion with a section of recorders. Also, Mimi needs more stuff!! She’s proboaly the most forgotten muse! A rainbow ferris wheel, perhaps? And every pod would be sorta themed around something nice, like peace and chocklit? And why aren’t Pwt and Crraw near each other? Why deprive Pwt? But on the more positive note, Chad should have the Alley of Inventiveness. It would contain those giant bubble wands, a speedometer, and a whole lotta big strofoam building blocks so you can build stuff. I saw something like it at youth expo. Ohdarn, shrinking comment box!!!

Mimi Section
A rollercoaster with two trains on it. Each of the trains tracks are shaped like half of a heart ♥ (sorry, had to do that) and at the zenith of the heart the carts come whisking right next to eachother. The idea is to high-five someone in the moment before one goes hurtling off again.
Something like that, anyway. These things never sound as brilliant when you write them down.

there should be wungs running free over the whole thing! ore something like that.i went to a zoo once and there were golden lion tamarins running around everywhere. it was really cool.
there also should be a lot of diffrent food places. and it should not be very expensive. (i hate it when food is expensive at amusement parks.
and it should be advertised as educational so schools will take feild trips there and parents will take their kids there.
118- That’s actually a really funny idea. Advertise, “Come and bring your kids! We’re educational!” So, the people bring the children there and the greeters whisper to the children, “Run away as fast as you can.” So, the kid does so, and the kid has more fun. We MIGHT be educational, if we wanted to, but the “Come bring your kids we’re educational” might just be a load of phooey. If the parents ue because they didn’t think it was educational, ask them to define “educational.” In my Webster’s dictionary, it defines educational as this- “(root word educate): 1: Give instruction to, 2: Develop mentally or morally.” So, basically, we aren’t lying. (Of course, this particular dictionary was published in 1995, so… yeah.)

It could be basically “Small World” with Museish stuff, and then a giant Koko pops up, and the puppet things start hurling pies at you (holographic ones, to reduce mess), and it ends in a huge drop where you get splashed, and then you see an animatronic Mimi threatening not to invite Koko to her birthday party.

Indeed it does. Someone really ought to turn those RPGs and RRRs into books, not to mention the really good discussion threads and SSSS.
In one of his books, Christopher Hart, the manga artist, said that the difference between amusement parks and theme parks is that theme parks create a sense of actually being in a special place. At EPCOT on The Living Seas, there were moments I actually did believe I was in an underwater colony.
I think we should have several attractions like that- no action, just a place that feels like somewhere completely different, probably a good place to put a restaurant.
