Hello. I’ve just come in from Dr. Marvin’s Experimentary School for Abandoned Strays, but I was expelled because I didn’t fit one the requirements, and someone said that their were some spots open?

The lesson that day in Geek 105 was about when it is okay to quote Star Wars in regular conversation. The teacher covered how quotes from the Expanded Universe should not be used around non-fans, and how you should always ask an adult if they have watched the prequels before quoting one. The homework was to find your favorite quote from each trillogy and be prepared to tell the class why you liked it the next day.

They help when you need to get around quickly!” I call out to Vixen as I walk through the door. It dissapears after I walk through it.

Vixen (23): Each house has its own rule about pets. Spector house has a resident purple dog. Students can have additional pets as well. Though because some students have allergies, most pets live in the school’s Animal House.

so someone explain this to me. i see that there is a big school and classes, and everyone goes around and does stuff, but i just need some orientation to get me going in the right direction. looks simple enough, though.
MA is a school somewhere near Iceland where gifted children (like musers) go. We spend our time interacting with other students, doing various classes, and pranking each other’s houses. There are four houses–Spector house, Coontz house, Lasely house, and Baker house. Take the test on post #24 to see which house you belong in.
((People don’t seem to understand [post 9] that Agag does not have super powers.))
Well, the quiz puts me in Spector House. And if Spector House has a purple dog, can’t I bring my dog, too? She’s only three punds and doesn’t ever bark! Of course, she has that odd trait of sprouting wings and vanishing and reapearing somewhere else, but I think that’s because they gave her some sort of experimentary drug…. And she’s potty trained! (almost…)

On a different note…
l used to follow the typical school of thought in which the GAPAs are practically worshipped. But l realized that they’re only human like me, and that l don’t believe in worship. They are human beings, worthy of deep respect, but no more so than me or any other MBer. They are no less capable of making mistakes than me. l’m sorry, admins. l really am, but just because you decide whether or not my post shows up doesn’t make you gods.))

Everybody, please don’t argue…this thread has been more OOC than in character. I think that people should be allowed to have some talents, but not superpowers like invisibility…gadgets are okay, as long as they’re not way out of the ordinary. For example…

l held up a box.
“These matches burn through quickly, and go out soon. To make a fireball, you take these clear balls, light some matches, put them in… seal it up… and voila!”
l hurled the fireball at a wall near a student, who jumped. The fire quickly went out.
“Next, we’ll work on setting fire to our robes. Mine are fire-resistant, and actually keep fire from burning too long. Some of you Neophytes may have seen me do this already. You start talking, and light one of my special matches with your hands inside these long sleeves, then- WAAAAH!!!! Your sleeve catches on fire!”
“Thirdly, lightning. lf any of you saw me zap Boo on the boat, you might be a bit worried about the strength of the zapping. Well, ghosts attract electricity far better than humans. A zap just feels like a normal static shock.”
“Then why the large lightning bolts?, you might ask. Well the hand that seems to shoot bolts isn’t actually the hand that makes the zap. In the shoulder of these robes, there’s a small generator that makes just enough electricity to make a static shock just big enough to travel to another person without touching them. You stand near a person, create the fake bolts with one hand, and zap them with the other. Or, if you’re too far away, just make the fake bolts miss them by a few inches.”
“In addition to fire and lightning, ice is also a part of black almost-magic. We don’t freeze people in blocks of ice, but we do something more fun: out of season snowballs.”
Some MAers cheered.
“Unfortunately, my technique is far from perfect, and not very magical. You have to make the snow in advance by crushing up ice, and you need to keep the snow in a thermos. But, with a little theatrics, you can make it seem like you can make snow out of thin air.”
“Practice session. Use the techniques l showed you.”
Vixen picked up some of the ice ijn the cooler and crushed it with a brick, she took one of thefireballs and padded snow around it so that it looked like a normal snowball. When, slowly but surely, a snowball fight started, she tossed the “snowball” at Agagabagabag, whose robes promptly caught fire. They very quickly went out again.
“You should have seen the look on your face!” she laughed.
I’m in Coontz house. The Muse Academy thread is sort of dead, so I came here.

Kai heard the Neophyte come in the door.
“Hi. You new?” She asked
He nodded. “I’m Kokonilly.”
“My name is Kai. Welcome to Coontz House. By the way, do you like Star Wars quotes, because I’m doing this assignment…”
I throw a fireball at the wall. The wall bursts into flame. Then I throw a snowball at the fire and put it out. I also master the lightning move, “almost-magic is fun! But what’s next?” I ask. “is there anything with levitation? that might be cool.”
“I’m a SHE, FYI,” Kokonilly replied, annoyed. “Why can’t anyone ever tell?
“And, yes, I know a TON of Star Wars quotes. Why?”
I briefly wondered where all the Spectors were, but then they were forgotten for a moment when I smelled something tangy floating through the air. “What’s that smell?” I whispered to myself. “I think it’s coming from the garden. Well, it’s that or homework, so I think I’ll check this out.”
61- “a neophyte? In my house? Why didn’t anyone tell me? My name’s Vaxid. Welcome to Coontz house, Kokonilly. Here’s some advice: You probably know this already but some students have been hit with pies or have tricks played on them. This is not uncommon here and I suggest you tread carefully and get good at doging projectiles. In addition, there are a few secret passageways in the grounds and the building. Very few people have found even one and no one knows all of them. If you have some time on your hands, you could search for one. If you need to move around quickly, they are very useful. Respect your fellow students and don’t hold a grudge. We try to stay away from rivalries between houses too. And Lastly, always be careful. Some pretty creepy things have happend already. You might have heard we recently were attacked by a ship full of evil ghosts. That’s all I have to say. It was nice to meet you.” I touch the corner of a mural taking up almost the entire wall of the room. It is a mural of a long staircase leading up to a door. I dissapear and reapear on the stairs in the mural. “This leads to the library. A secret passageway to start you off. Don’t tell anyone about it.” I say, as I dissapear behind the door in the mural.

In the scripts it said obi-wan killed your father. At the very end when they filmed it he told james earl jones to say ‘I am your father’ instead. Maybe you’ll get extra credit for presenting that fact along with the quote. Let me know how it goes.”

Taking a deep breath, Kai stood before the class. She had never been very good at public speaking.
“Um, my favorite quote from the Prequels is what Shimi says to Anakin when he leaves with the Jedi- ‘Be brave and don’t look back’. The theme of leaving home to go on an adventure appears in many of Mr. Lucas’ flims, such as THX and American Graffiti, and this quote very much fits with that theme.” She said.
“And your other quote?”
“Anakin’s words to Luke in Jedi ‘Tell your sister… you were right.’ The previous movies all told Anakin’s story, and his redemption brings closure. When we hear him say these words near Endor, we know that the story which began so long ago on Tatooine is over. The circle is now complete.”
“Very good, Kai.”

“Hooray, Kai!!!” the class cheered.
“Oh!” said the teacher. “It appears we have a new student. Meet Kokonilly, class.”
“Hi,” Kokonilly said shyly.
While waiting for another kid to finish their presentation, Kai practiced writting the date on the back of a bookmark at her desk. First the American way, then the European way, and then, because she wanted a challenge, in the Ancient Mayan way.
“Circle, circle. That’s two. Slash mark, then three bars- fifteen- and three circles- eighteen. Another slash mark. Then a bar-five- and two circles- seven.” She thought. “Hm, it’s been a while since I’ve written anything in Mayan glyphs… oh gosh! One of Boo’s papers looked like it was written in the phonetic glyphs!”
I took the test before, but the thread was moving to fast so i didn’t keep up, and eventually quit. but its moving at a more controllable pace now, so i will go with the former results, i don’t think i have changed, I am in Coontz house.
HA! The awkward silences and annoyed glances would go away soon, i thought as i picked up my bags. I was going to MA! I had always dreamed of this. But-finally i had saved up enough to get a train ticket. i was leaving this town behind. and i will never come back.
Then, Kai vaguely noticed a small piece of paper landing on her desk. Unfolding it, she read:

Sitting around in the front hall entertaining myself with a new pieing machine I had made, I heard some footsteps approaching from out the front door. I charged up the stair case with my pack in hand. Settling down, and confidently out of view, I watched as a confused face poked it’s way through the front door. Ooh! I thought, a newbie! This oughta be fun. I readied my pie-tapult and let the pastry sail.

After class, Kokonilly realized she had no idea where she was sleeping, and was still carrying her bags. “Just like myself,” she muttered. “No planning department whatsoever.”
Then, she heard two people talking around the corner. She dove into her biggest bag and hid.
I walk out of my computer programing class when I see Gim getting ready to pie a neophyte. “Your giving him a muse-style welcome to MA I see. Keep up the good work.” I say to Gim. I see Kai walking back from class. “Kai, are we going to have the star party or is it just a fantasy?”

As I moved to throw the pie somebody said something behind me. I wasn’t expecting it and jumped, the pie bounced off the wall and landed right next to the neophyte. Blast. At least he knows we’re there.

“Ha ha ha, sorry Gim.” I grinned widely as I said it. I quickly moved out of the way of any pie attacks. Gim threw another pie at the neophyte and hit him in the face with the gooey pastry.

“…I was called for by a boy – Beavo, of the Baker House. He apparently needed my advice. …Beavo… purposefully strode towards my house. My grin slipped a notch. This must be important if he, a student, would not stay for a pie fight. “Hey! Wait! Hold on!” I called as I ran after him.
He met me at the door, bouncing impatiently on his toes. “Hold your horses,” I muttered. I first placed him underneath my plastic wrap, as the pies were beginning to stray closer and closer to us. I next pulled out an old fashined key and opened the door. “In you go,” I said to him. Beavo gratefully stepped inside…”Clean yourself up, and I’ll make some hot coco.” I pointed him to my bathroom and set some water on to boil. ”
Okay. Here goes.

Beavo held his hands out from his sides, trying not to spread the banana cream all over his clothes. He watched, pitying Faye as a large glob landed on her beige wall-to-wall carpet.
Once cleaned up in her bathroom (most buildings on the Muse Academy campus had the latest technology in clenliness due to the frequent pie fights), Beavo headed into the small, but cozy living room of Faye’s home. He admired her choice of furniture. Half of it wouldn’t have been out of place in his grandmother’s house. But the other half was distinctly modern, resembling something out of a Picasso cubist painting. Strangly, she had picked each peice carfully as nothing clashed or looked out of place.
The smell of hot chocolate got stronger as he entered Faye’s kitchen. She was sitting patiantly at a glass table, cocoa in hand. An empty cup sat above another chair, tea kettle next to it. A small basket of candy canes resided in the middle of the table.
Beavo smiled reminecently as he sat down; Faye remembered all the times he had frequented her kitchen for a chat last year as a newb– Neophyte.
Faye voiced his memories. “I remember you like to pour it yourself. And I never gave up on the candy cane idea either, it’s wonderful.”
Pouring his own cup of cocoa from the kettle, Beavo’s grin widened. “And you remembered the cinamon too!” The small container holding cinamon sat just behind the kettle.
Faye grabbed a candy cane and waited, the cane held above her cocoa. “Ready?”
Beavo took his own. “Ready.”
Plop! The cane fell into the cocoa.
“Okay, you ignored a pie fight to come see me. What’s going on?” Faye stirred her cup with the cane.
“It was hard, I have to admit,” admited Beavo. “But there’s this kid in Baker house. He wears a lot of black, and I’ve seen his wrists.” Beavo winced. “He reminds me of…” his voice trailed off.
Faye finished for him. “He reminds you of yourself.” Faye had not only been the sort of caretaker for Muse Academy, but she had been a kind of guidence counsoler as well. She knew very well what Beavo had felt like last year, from what she’d heard, this kid was like Beavo’s shadow a year ago.
“It worries me because I think he’s a bit shyer than I was. I want to help him like you helped me. Advice?”
Faye stopped stiring and took a sip.

I didn’t want to look too confused or out of place when I made my first appearance, but I couldn’t help slowly peeking in the door and glancing around before i entered. uh-oh. as i walked in, a pie slammed into the wall next to me, causing me to jump, then another one went SPLAT! right in my face. great. they new i was new, and just as in any other school, i was being attacked. too bad for them, the last time someone did something like this to me, they ended up with a few bluish welts. I turned towards the direction the pies had come from, and began charging the culprit. i may be small, but i sure pack a big punch. boy was i surprised. i wasn’t the only “talented” one.
At the moment I finished letting the pie fly, the new student ran up flew up the stairs, an angered snarl on his face. I pulled out my suction cup bow and shot it at the ceiling, tying it to my belt loop at the back of my jeans. Before I could finish the neophyte had begun pounding it out, though it wasn’t like I couldn’t hold my own. In fact, it looked like I was getting the advantage, while we grappled, I moved in a circle, until I got back to our original spot, then I gave the string a tug. I had circled the string around, and tugging it pulled it tight around his legs, toppling him. I had snipped the string and pulled out a pie-bloon by the time he had gotten to his feet. Then, before he reacted, I slopped the pie in his face.
“Listen, neophyte. I think I understand where you’re coming from, but don’t worry. Pieing at MA is friendly.”
I had grabbed my things and run out of sight before he wiped the pie off his face.
Gim ran around the corner to meet a key lime pie. “It isn’t nice to pick on neophytes, gim!”, I yelled as I sped away, laughing.

Kai saw Kokonilly in the hallway, carrying her bags.
“The Coontz House dorm is over here.” she pointed.
“Did you get my note?” Kokonilly asked
“I was writting the date in Mayan. I learned it from a book. Some of the writting on Boo’s plans looked like the glyph writing, or at least I think it did. I think TMFA still has the plans.”

I Am deep in this puzzle. But I can’t find my maya to English Dictionary. Most of the plans are now in the roman alphabet.

Now I really looked like a neophyte… But maybe it would be better here… I would just have to get used to any weird customs… And learn to control my anger. But I was going to get better, I knew it. Here I might even learn to control my energy, and put it to use. I hoped… Of course, everything could get worse, and I might hurt someone… But now, unlike at the other places, I at least wanted to try and be a good student.

Had the circumstances been any different, Kai would absolutely have stopped as she passed the monitors in the Mostly Harmless Intelligence Room, displaying television news feeds from around the world. Kokonspiracists were crowded around several, trying to figure out how this event or that would effect the plan for World Domination.
But she was eager to get back to translating and did not notice the CNN tab running on the third monitor from the door…
ACCIDENT REPORTED IN EXPERIMENTAL SPACEPLANE FLIGHT

Michael woke up, dressed, and stumbled down the boys’ dormitory stairs. He skidded to a halt just in time to colide with a girl — Cat’s Meow, somebody had called her.
((Meow, you’ll have to talk to him. I don’t want to power-play and Michael is to shy to start a conversation on his own.))
Kai looked up from her scrap paper. The notes were in an older form of Greek, from before the government had standardized grammar.
Needing a break, she turned on a toaster-radio that was sitting nearby.
“Hi!” Cat said to the boy who had just collided with her. “You’re Michael, right? Sorry if I’m wrong. I’m still learning everybody’s names. What house are you in?”
“At 4:00 local time today, a routine test flight of the SpaceShipTwo rocketplane was aborted, due to fears of safety for the crew due to an unexpected solar flare. Earlier reports of a more serious accident now seem to be mere rumours. The five crew members achived a safe landing and are now being tested for adverse effects of radiation at a nearby hospital.

Michael looked up from his shoes, which weren’t that interesting.
“Uh…Baker?”
Cat giggled. “You say that like it’s a question.”
Michael blushed, but didn’t say anything.
“Aw, c’mon. I’m hungry. I hear the breakfast sausage is delicious!”
Now that he thought about it, he was a bit hungry. He shuffled down the stone stairs into the hall with Cat, wondering if he had made a new friend.
“Oh my gosh!” Kai shouted after hearing the radio announcement. “I hope they’re okay!”
Kokonilly, shaking her head, not knowing who was and wasn’t talking to her, walked away.
“What a confusing place,” she muttered to herself.
She sprinted down the hallway, down the stairs, around the corner, and —
WHAM!!! She collided with two people, a boy and a girl chatting.
“Yikes!” she said, picking herself up off the floor checking for bruises. “I am so sorry. I do this a lot, I tend to be hyper sometimes, and I never look where I’m going,” she said quickly.
((Meow and Michael, I think the boy and girl chatting are you. Sorry I got you into this mess, but my subplot was becoming boring, and I needed a little action.))
Nathalie and Kai were walking to the cafeteria the next morning.
“Did you hear that sound?” Nathalie asked
“What sound?” Kai responded
“It was kind of like banging. It sounded like it was underground.”

Kokonilly was asleep when she felt something squishy on her face. She woke up, tasted it… “Pie!” she yelped.

Kokonilly fully awoke. It was 5:00 AM. “Drat,” she said as she got up and got herself ready for the day.

After she had gotten herself dressed, Kokonilly decided to explore the old building and looked for the cafeteria.
She went down the stair, across te hall, around the corner – and found a map.

She picked up the map and examined it carefully. It looked strangely like the Marauder’s Map, with little tiny moving specks. “Hm,” she mumbled. “Where’s Kai on here?” She set off on her little quest to find Kai.
While Kokonilly was looking for Kai, Adeia was looking for the library… Adeia was tired after along school day, looking for her classes, and doging attemps to pelt her with pies… so all she wanted to do was curl up with a good book.
After an hours worth of searching she found the library, unoccupied. When she found the book she was looking for another map fell out!
The map was almost exactly like the one Kokonilly found except it didn’t show people, it showed
items hidden
through out the school!

What is Muse Academy South?
Muse Academy South (MAS) is a unique school built in 2008 to tailor to the extraordinary child. These children are all unique – they alone will one day take over the world and save it from destruction from HBPs. At MAS we nurture them, give them the attention they need, and guide them through life. We are a dedicated school and we offer a wide variety of classes to choose from, all of which take place in our ultra-modern school.

Where Muse Academy South is located:
A small island called Calliope Tenric off the southern tip of Antarctica. This island is 3 miles by 5.98 miles in size (or 17.94 square miles). Calliope Tenric has a rough rocky shore, is always a temperature of 73 degrees Fahrenheit (even when it snows, but the snow doesn’t melt), is usually rainy, has 8 known caves, and has a water temperature of 62 degrees Fahrenheit year round.
What does Muse Academy South look like?
MAS is a large, stone castle that was built in the late 1700s. Because of Calliope Tenric’s unique climate, the castle has fared very well and has been renovated to have all modern and futuristic appliances. All technology is updated every month.
What (if any) is the uniform?
MAS requires all students to wear sensible, smart-looking clothing. We encourage students to wear Muse clothing as it is durable, good looking, and has built in bunny protection. We require all students to wear shoes.

“Hm… where is Kai on here?” After searching for approximately 5 1/2 minutes, Kokonilly found Kai’s tiny speck. It was lost in a sea of specks… in the cafeteria. Oops, Kokonilly thought, I feel stupid. I forgot to eat. Stowing away the map in one of her many pockets, she headed off to the cafeteria.
220 Attention to all Muse Academy students who are interested in Muse Academy South!
You do NOT have to transfer. We have worked out an agreement with your school for students who are interested in attending both of our schools. If you would like to attend both schools, you have these options.
1. You can attend MSA when MA is on holiday or vice versa. This works because we are a different schedule.
2. You can come to 1 school for 1 term and the other for the next. You will be able to alternate or choose if you would like to come for 1, 2, or 3 terms.
3. You can do one of our exchange programs. Once MSA is fully set up, we will try to coordinate an inter-school exchange. This will mean that interested parties will be able to switch schools with 1 student for a week or 2.
Remember, we are a VERY accommodating school – please don’t hesitate to ask with any questions.

Zoe’s knees were trembling as she walked into MA to put the notice up. She walked through the door and was instantly overwhelmed by a sense of nervousness. “I don’t know anyone here†she thought to herself as she stood in the doorway. “I am an outsiderâ€.
She turned around to go back to the submarine that brought her from Calliope Tenric when she felt a tap on her back an a voice asking if they could help her.

“I have to tell Koko!” (That is what Adeia calls Kokonilly in her mind) Adeia thought. Adeia ran to the cafeteria; it was lunch after all.
When she found Kokonilly she whispered rapidly to her, ” Can we go somewher private to to talk? Like the Library?”
“Aww, Adeia, I just finished my entree! Sigh. No dessert today, I guess.” *gobbles up dessert* “Okay. Never mind. Why are we going to the — Woah!” *is yanked and dragged to the library by Adeia*

Baylee looked around the mess hall. She had just finished her ice cream sundae and was looking for Kokonilly and Adeia. “I wonder where they went…… Oh well. I have to study up for World Domination,” she said to herself. She walked to the library and checked if there were any books left on Hitler and World War II. Her teacher said there were 2 types of World Domination. The Muserly way and the EVIL way. Hitler tried he EVIL way. The Muserly way is when we have every kid in the whole world ordering Muse, and a army of HPBs, NGBs, SBBs, OOBs, RPBs, and HovPBs!!! Then, then, well, we haven’t really gotten to that part yet. She saw a book on the history of MA. “Well, that would be pretty interesting!” It was a old book, way in the back of the bookshelf. She blew off the dust. She opened the book and out fell a map. “I wonder what this is, a map to secret stuff?”

Baylee looked at the map carefully. “It’s just a map of the school,” she said sadly. “Nothing secret or important,” The map was in color code. Hot Pink for the hallways, Neon Green for the 2nd flloor, and it get darker the higher you get until you reach the top of the building which is a dark grey. The first floor is white. Robes represent teachers and Prefects, stick figures for students, and blue stick figures for neophytes, that were walking around the building, with their names under them. “Ah well, just a regular map!” she said. Wait, were the stick figures MOVING??? There’s Kokonilly, Adeia, and Kai! Oh, and there’s Althea!
.Raven walked into the library wondering where her fellow Coontzites were. They hadn’t been in the cafeteria…

“The map seems to show a passageway at the far end of the library, near the big fireplace.”
“Yes, I’m in Baker House as well. Where are these dorms I’ve heard so much about. Volo ire ad cubiculum meum!
“Okay, let’s go!” *skips merrily away*

They stood before the fireplace, which had four tiles built into it for decoration.

“What the heck? Well, let’s see, there’s four, so it’s probably something to do with either classical elements, compass directions, or the MA houses.”
“Well, the menu for the Hare and the Hedgepig shows a hedgepig playing bagpipes, so I believe the hedgepig and the heron are connected somehow. Apart from that, that’s quite a riddle.”
“Yes. Quite a riddle. Hmm…”
“Well, the Heron is Coontz’s house symbol, and the same, to a lesser extent, so could the chemistry set. same with the hedgepig and the bagpipes to baker. the roses are spector, and the hare is lasly.
“Interesting. Hm…” Pondering the possibilities, I thought and —
“Maybe if we bring one student from each house, the tunnel will open.”
“The problem is, we seem to have several Coontzites, and a couple of Bakers. We don’t have any active Spectors or Lasleys.”
“Do the tiles move?” Kai asked out loud, touching one. “Nope. So I guess we don’t have to put them in any sort of order.”
“Ah. That stinks.” *ponders some more*
“I think we need to get at least one member of every house to join us. Otherwise, I don’t think we can do anything.”

The day was warm, the sun was shining, and I was walking along the road to my new school. Muse Academy, I thought, interesting name. I’d been told I’d fit right in in Lasley House, with my love of art and––”Oi!” I shouted. “Stupid nasty truck!” and began wiping the mud off my face. Shoot, I thought, way to get splashed with mud on your first day of school.

“Hello? Helloooo??” The halls seemed pretty deserted. I heard some voices to my left and started off. Left turn, right turn, second right… The hallway opened up into a spectacular room, books piled high on shelves. There were a few people peering at a fireplace on the far wall.

I was getting a bit lost, having just arrived at Muse Academy a few days ago, and was looking for a landmark or a person which/who would tell me where to go. I turned a random corner and saw a small crowd staring at something on the wall. I entered the room and saw that it was a fireplace, got thoroughly confused, and then asked someone what was going on. ((I read the posts, so I know what’s going on, but it’s just for the story.))
Noticing a girl (Sorry, Turquoise, that just seemed likely that you were a girl) standing by, I wandered over to her and said
“Hello. I’m Kokonilly, from Coontz house. What’s your name and what house are you in?” Her voice lingered over the latter question, sounding desperate.
I pushed on the Coontz House panel. There was a click. Then, nothing more.
“Well, it did something, so I guess we DO need people from the other houses.”
*pushes on panel with hare sniffing roses* *nothing happens*
“Well, the panel has both Lasely and Spector symbols, so I suppose a Lasely person and a Spector person have to push it at the same time.”
I joined the small group of people gathered around the fireplace.
“Excuse me? I’m new here. Lasley house. Where am I supposed to be?”
I noticed the intricately designed panels on the fireplace. Pretty, but why would someone spend so much time on a fireplace?
“We need a Baker (me) a Lasely, a Coontz, and a Spector to each press their own symbol penecontemporaneously. I think that’ll do the trick.”

“Now, what do we do with the last panel? Perhaps we need someone from each house. Or maybe there’s a symbol that only appears under certain conditions, like ultraviolet light or heat or chemicals. Except heat wouldn’t work, as it’s a fireplace.” I smiled sheepishly.

There was a pop, a click, a grinding of ancient gears, and the entire fireplace, flames and all, thrust outward, sending several unsuspecting MAers flying.

“Ow.” Getting up, she wandered into the tunnel, which had… Oh. Spider webs. But behind the spider webs were…
…a set of stairs, going up. They were spiral stairs, but they spiraled to the left instead of the traditional right. Anyone defending these stairs with swords (or pies, for that matter) would be at a severe disadvantage… unless they were all left-handed. A house in the clouds for a bunch of lefties? Strange.
I kept climbing. It seemed like where we’d climbed to now should be above MA. But the stairs didn’t end, and neither did the elevator-shaftlike thing in which they were enclosed.

“I hope this isn’t one of those creepy Matrix-like things where you keep on going up and up and opening doors and stuff but never really get anywhere.” I said.

Baylee looked inside the tunnel. She slowly hacked away at the spider webs, and gasped. “Guys come here! I think I found something!” She saw a pink light. She squinted and saw it was a RED light, no a pink one, no a red one. Than she realized it was a torch with a pink flame, and a giant ruby right in the middle. “Wow,” she said under her breath. She heard a rustling behind the flame and her heart skipped a beat. “Hello?”
“That’s creepy. Who could make a pink flame? *lapses into Coontzness* Actually, in my science class, my teacher burned different salts and they burned all sorts of colors. But this torch would need a lot of it, because I don’t think anyone has been in to refill it in a really long time. Wait-what was that noise?”
“NOISE?” Panicking, I searched for a way out, but could not find the tunnel again. I hid behind Turquoise.
*waits outside of tunnel* “Found anything in there? Hellooo?” *no reply*
“I heard another noise,” I said fearfully. “What was that?” Quivering, I reach out and grasp a pole, but – what’s this? – it moves!
There was a scraping noise. I looked over to see the pole Kokonilly had grabbed skitter just out of reach. Pole? Okay, maybe not. She wobbled a bit, but righted herself. “Are you all right?” I asked.
“Yes,” she answered dryly, “never better.” We laughed in spite of the creepy atmosphere.
((‘Skitter’ is such a great word.))
“At the risk of sounding cliched, something funny’s going on in this tunnel.” Kai said.
((Who did Kokonilly grab?))
“Where’s the tunnel? This is Department of Mysteries-ish!”
“NO, ya think?” Kokonilly said sarcastically. “This tunnel is absolutely, completely NORMAL. It’s not like a boulder is going to star rolling towards us at a high velocity… right?” She ended fearfully.
“Oh, great, NOW you’ve done it,” mumbled someone.
((Kokonilly grabbed a pole. Which moved. Therefore it’s probably not a pole. See #347.))
“Wait, everyone. Before we go any farther–” I fumbled in my pocket. A few hair clips and a pencil came out, as well as the glow-stick that I knew was in there. You know, the kind you get at Halloween or parties or whatever. I snapped it and it gave off a purple light. Now we could see… ((fill in the blank))

You shall see them wither.’ Maybe it means one after another something dies? And then ‘Until the stone is alive again, you are hexed.’ So unless we do something we are cursed. And then………” She trailed off. She looked at everyone.
“I don’t know Egyptian,” Kokonilly shrugged. “Don’t ask me.”

I pondered the problem. “Maybe it’s not an actual stone… maybe some animal that looks like a stone, i.e. a hippopotamus, or an elephant, or a whale. Or there are those plants that grow in the desert called living stones.

“Rats, I used up the only gum I had in the fight on the ghost ship! Does anybody else have any?”
“I do.” I fished deep into my pockets.
((I finished writing my riddle in hieroglyphs! It took forever.))
I began freaking out. “Where’s that voice coming from? How do we give it gum if we don’t know where it is!? What if it’s luring us closer to eat us!? Oh my god we’re going to die!!” Someone smacked me across the face. “Thank you, I needed that. Sorry everyone. What do we do now?”
“Naw, the real question is, why does it want this gum, and,” I added, so that the voice could hear (if it was intelligent at all) “what’s in it for us?“
I just hope the answer to that question isn’t “I’ll sick the T-rex on you if you don’t”

I imitated Uncle Vernon in Book 1 and made a noise like a mouse being trodden on. ((Wow, my character is a wimp. I should fix that.))
“Um… I have more, but YOU can’t have it,” I squeaked.
I sighed. “Guys, I still don’t think this is a good idea… What if that rock decides to kill us all?” The other students continued to pay no heed. Ah well. I shrugged and went along with it.
I turned to Nora. “You are SO pessimistic. Reeeee-laaaaaaaax.”
*continues waiting outside of tunnel* “Okay, that’s it. They’re taking way too long. I’m going in there–” *fireplace suddenly slams shut* “Hm, too late.” *shrugs*
“What was that noise? It sounded like a fireplace slamming shut. Wait! It did! We’re trapped in here with the stone!”
“There’s a little problem, guys.’ I said,”I am The Bookworm, from Baker House, and there’s no way to go! The tunnel is really a room, which now has rock on all sides, so we’re kinda trapped…’

“Phobos! All those nightmares I’ve ever had about being trapped underground… were prophetic, it seems.”
“Sright! I hope it doesn’t devour us!”
While everyone else talks about nightmares and freaks out about being trapped, I listen to the noises I hear… To the left I hear the stone heads happily chewing and to the right I hear everyone talking, to the back is the fireplace. But to the front nothing…
“Anyone have a flashlight?†I ask.
“I do,†Kokonilly replies as she fishes into one of her many pockets.
“Thanks.†I turn on the flash light and feel my way along the wall in front of me and with the flashlight look for any significant symbols….
I find what I’m looking for… one of those slider puzzles with house symbols…
“Brilliant!” I yell, startling most of the others. “Another puzzle!”
“Anyone here good at slider puzzles? I stink !”
‘Me too,” she started whistling a tune to Help! When Baylee gets agitated she picks a song that’s right for the disaster. She got so agitated, she finally began to sing. “HELP! I need somebody.
Help! Not just anybody.
Help! You know I need someone, heeeeellllp!
When I was younger so much younger than tooooday, (I never need!) I never needed anybodies help in any way!
But now I’m older and I’m not so self assured
Now I’ve find, I’ve changed my mind,

Help, me if you can! I’m feeling down!” She finally realized some people were getting annoyed. “Oh, sorry,” she just whistled instead.
“I’m awful at them, but it’s probably the only way we can get out…”
“Is anyone here at them?”

“I’ll try, I never really have done it much, but I’ll try,’ she looked at the wall and and started sliding pieces back and forth, down, and sideway finally she stopped and said, “I’ve got most of it. It looks to be a picture of Kokopelli. But i haven’t gotten the whole thing because, well, again, I stink at these puzzles. Can anyone else do it? There’s just two more pieces.”

Baylee looked at the too. “That piece goes there, a that goes there, simple,” Just as she finished moving the pieces, the wall slid down, the ceiling was gone and they were turned upside down. They were falling, falling, falling, into the abyss.
I joined Beatlesrockr.
“Help me if you can, I’m feeling down
Help me get my feet back on the groud
Won’t you PLEEEEEEEZE, pleeeeeze help me (help me)” and slowly trailed off with the glares.
“I’ll finish it.” Quickly, I finished the puzzle, and… ((someone continue))
Our fall stoped and the stone heads started talking again…((continue))
“YOU HAVE PASSED THE POINT OF NO RETURN,” they boomed.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” someone mumbled. “Ever seen Indiana Jones? I’ve been practicing to be like him.”
Everyone turned and stared.
“I’ve been practicing the way of the Jedi,” She started singing the rest of the song while the stone head from the Easter Islands kept talking. “And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,”
“No, Gum gum, no return,”
“My Independence seems to vanish in the haze,”
“NO RETURN, NO RETURN!”
“But every now and then I feel so insecure,”
The Eastern Island statue started snoring. “I know that I just need you, like I’ve never done before!” The Big head was sound asleep. Baylee followed the snoring and saw it. She pushed its nose to make sure it was asleep. A loud grounding noise could be heard, and a long tunnel appeared. “I guess we have to go in,”

“Beatlesrockr, I like those songs too, but can you please keep it down? Maybe a monster’s lurking in that tunnel? Ever heard of Shelob?”

“It’s basically a giant angry spider who lives in the mountains surrounding Mordor and eats everyone. Not a nice bug by any means.”

I’ve never been on any MA thread before. Could someone tell me how to enroll and what is going on?
“Technically, she is a giant spider that bit Frodo in the loard of the rings,” “WOAH! There is another pink light. This time, it’s a very bright one.” she looked around and saw small skeletons, all with long ears. “Uh, guys, I think this wasn’t such a good idea,” she looked around and bent over one of the skeletons. “This ones fresh. The age of it, maybe 5 years. Probably killed 2 days ago,” Suddenly she could feel something breathing and her neck. Baylee turned her eyes open wide with terror. “GUYS GET OUT OF HERE!!!!” It was a cannibal HPB, but it probably ate other kinds of meat too. She was trapped in the room with Kokonilly, but everyone else were behind it. Then she calmed down there was a narrow opening……..

((My neophyte post 234)) Ven looked around and saw it was supper time. He looked at the map in the hall way and saw he was in Baker. He quickly found the dorms, set his stuff in there, and ran off to the mess hall.
Hyperventilating, I whisper fearfully, “Beatlesrockr? What’s behind us?”
I leaned into the wall to see if I could hear anything, “Are you guys OK?”All of a sudden the wall opened and the room started to tilt…((continue someone!))
I pulled out my Swiss Army Knife, holding up the saw part.
“Stay back, you creepy thing! Stay back!” I shouted, although my voice stuttered. I didn’t have the nerve to attack the HPB. I just hoped it didn’t know that.
Then everyone fell in the room long enough to distract the mutant, large, scary, HPB from Kokonilly and Baylee to ((continue!))

… Beatlesrockr singing another song.
I heard a faint noise. “Hey Jude…” I knew it was Beatlesrockr. I joined in. “Don’t make it bad… take a sad song… and make it better… remember (remember) to let her into your heart… then you can start… to make it better…”
As I looked on, the mutant HPB squeaked and ran at the sound of Beatlesrockr’s singing.
“Well that’s that beast conquered!” I say in an attempt to cheer up all.
Baylee grinned. She knew that singing could make things better, but she didn’t know that it could make THIS better. But she finally realized why the HPB had run away. “Guys, get through that opening QUICK!” Her singing had awoken more stone heads. And one had somehow awoken a Thing, and that Thing probably hit a booby trap, and now she could here a faint rumble then a crack, and a giant stone ball was heading there way. “HURRY!”

“Um, anyone got a bullwhip?”
“Nope! Run away, run away, run away!”

I didn’t have time to tell Kokonilly “No”. I just took off as fast as I could. The ground was fairly bumpy, but three years in cross country had gotten me used to running on much rougher terrain than this.
I started to run, but froze. There was another slider puzzle on a stone head. There was also a small door next to it. I opened it and dashed inside. Cautiously.
((By “small door”, do you mean just small or miniture, like in Alice in Wonderland?))
As I ran blindly from the huge stone ball rolling towards me, I felt something under my feet. I knelt down to touch it, hoping it would get me out of here. And it did! I felt myself tossed up in the air.. ((To be continued…))
The tunnel suddenly split, one part going downwards, deeper into the castle. The other branch sloped up suddenly, and we dashed up that. The stone ball came a short way up, then rolled backwards down the downwards tunnel.
((Whoa! Okay, I’m back now.))
I crossed my arms and looked at everyone. “See? I TOLD you this wasn’t a good idea. Mutant bunnies trying to eat us, giant stone balls…”
Okay, so I was acting like a brat, but it was my first day at a new school and I’d almost gotten killed too many times for my liking.
((Heh. My character is the brat! Awesome!))
As I was soaring, apparently catapulted, I looked around. I saw Nora and Turquoise on the ground, and the stone ball rolling. Eventually, I felt myself falling…
