5 – Awesome. First we met at the carousel and went on it once, and then we went to lunch. Then we went walking for a little while until we came to the library, where we hopped on the laptops Alice and I brought and went on MuseBlog. (Where else?) Then we went to IBCF’s house, had pie and ice cream and explored his tree house (adding our own drawings of hot pink bunnies and Koko as well) and then blogged some more. It was fun.

1- Why, thank you! It’s nice to have your hair be compared to a GAPA’s hair.
5- Lots of stuff! We rode on a merry-go-round, ate lunch, went to a library and posted on our laptops, and then went to my house, where we ate pie and ice cream.
6- On a bridge over a raging river, obviously.

Hello, hello! Yes, Daddy is emailing the GAPAs right now, I believe…

THAT WAS AWESOME. There are no words to describe how awesome that was. It was so weird to actually be…open, in real life. Usually I’m very quiet, and there I was talking a mile a minute and was actually comfortable around people outside the blog. And we did record ourselves singing the Spector House Song, but it went rather badly. We sang out of tune and I laughed in the middle. And then IBCF’s brother came out of his room and stared at us.
It was amazing. I am so, so happy. And I ate IBCF’s chocolate bunny on the way home. I ate the head last but it sort of crumbled so I couldn’t take a picture of the bodiless rabbit.

21- Thank you. It’s my favorite sweater. I got rather hot in it, though.

22- Lots and lots.

26- My style is made hard to copy by the fact that I get most of my clothes second-hand… I think the sweater came from a thriftstore.

There are a LOT of pictures! Haha.

I’m sorry I haven’t sent in the recording yet; yesterday my computer went wonky and refused to accept the fact that it was hooked up to a wireless connection. Hopefully it’ll work when we get home to the ethernet.

My hair became increasingly tangled as the day went on.

I wish I could go to Kokonventions, but my parents would never let me plan a meeting with a bunch of people I only met online. I can understand their reasoning, too… I mean, that’s the classic scenario for pedophiles and kidnappers to ensnare their victims.

58-PC, I agree with you to some extent. This kokonvention’s bloggers were very brave to go off to a kokonvention with no GAPAs. But Kokonventions with GAPAs and many parents and such are a bit safer. The GAPAs can enforce rules such as that every kid must have a parent along, so it would be extremely unlikely anything would happen. What I find scary is how the whole email thing happened. And that is harder to control.

61- We did contact the GAPAs first, and we brought our parents, so it’s not that bad. And I’ve always been careful with emails, and Meow and IBCf don’t have anyone else’s emails, I don’t think, so the email thing will not happen again (that was scary, though… I didn’t want to check my email for a long time after that).

I don’t think it was that bad, or we were very reckless. It didn’t have any GAPAs, sure, but each of us had one adult we could trust before we set out, so nothing terribly bad could really have happened even if some of us did turn out to be scary evil people, which we didn’t.

I think we did a good job of making sure we were all safe, since we all had adults with us and the GAPAs knew the parents were involved and stuff. It would have been way different if Alice had hitchhiked across the state and our parents didn’t know where we were or anything like that.

72-I might go there for a few days, along with DC (for sure) and Philadelphia (maybe).

My sister is going to a music camp in DC so I’m tagging along. My mom says she might take me to NYC and my dad says he might visit his sister in Philly and have my mom leave me with him on the way back or something.

I move 9000 miles away and I happen to be in the same town, school, classes, and we are both in the Science Club and we just happened to be the two people picked for the Marine Biology Program. Its REALLY scary if you ask me. I beleive in fate though (sometimes) so I just think that it happened for a reason. Maybe our lifes goal is to create a branch of Mostly Harmless down in boring old (snip) or maybe there will be a New Zealand invasion of HPBs???

168 – Not really. I just turned 13, and IBCF and Alice are a year-year and a half older than me. Plus I’m really short, so I could probably be mistaken for 11. But it wasn’t bad at all. Alice was about my height, and, honestly, if you judge someone on age/height, you’re not a very good MuseBlogger.
Especially since, on the blog, we’ve learned to know and like people without knowing what they look like. I’ve found (from the one Kokon I’ve had, and I can guess what would happen with other people) that if you can like someone without caring what they look like online, you can probably like someone without caring what the look like offline.

Wow, that was almost a rant, wasn’t it?

180 – The summer Kokon that IBCF, Alice, and I are planning is going to take place in Oregon. If only there was an easy way to tell you where it was taking place…

And, actually, there aren’t many MBers on the west coast, comparatively. There have been tons of Kokons in Chicago and D.C., but the Spokane one was the first one on the west coast that we know of. Alice and I were wishing for a west coast/Washington Kokon for ages, but everyone was spread out enough that it wasn’t really worth it to just have a 2 person Kokon if you have to drive all that way.

188- Well, she works in a restaurant, if it’s closed on Memorial day I will be very surprised. But the main reason why it won’t work is Opal. While Mother and I are frolicking through Southern California, Opal will be sitting in the country with her eyes glued to a screen. Therefore, we must get home ASAP so that she spends a minimum amount of time with her eyes glued to a screen.
Well, it’ll have to be summer, because between now and mid-June, Memorial day is my only day off. The 4th of July might work.

Not the exact day. I don’t get out of summer camp until about 10:00 pm. It’s a music camp where we stay in dorms, and that night is our final concert, which is a relief because for the past two years I had to be in camp for the 4th. We couldn’t stay up past 9:00.

Portland Kokon: The Oregon Kokon is July 14th-18th, right? The second or third day we were there would probably be the best. So the 15th or 16th, maybe?
IBCF Grades: I hope they do too. IBCF, if there’s anything we can do to help, let us know. But if you end up not being able to go…hmm…it feels a little stranger to go all the way across the state to only have a Kokon with Alice for a week, and then MLS for a day.
We should, like…pick up MLS when we go to Oregon, and then let her stay at Alice’s house for the rest of the week.

231- Oh, no. See, the plan, whether we go through with it or not, was that Meow’s and IBCF’s parents were taking them to my hometown for a week, and during that time we would go to Portland and meet you. This plan was concocted because we had about five hours to hang out during the March kokon, which was saddening.

232- I forgot too. But I still carried a towel with me…to the pool.

Naw, I’m not doing it. My school district has a tight budget. I would mention some things they have cut, but that might lead to serious geographical specificity.

Umm, I don’t think I’m doing anything in early August, but I really don’t know. I’ll ask my parents when we’re going to California. I know I’m going on labor day, but I think I’m going in earlier August, too.

Say, on your tour of Oregon, are you going to the Shakespeare festival? My mom and I are going to see a play there in late August. My dad’s coming to Ashland, too, but he doesn’t like plays.

257- The Elizabethan! I’m so jealous! We got a tour of it, but it was cold and empty, although it did appeal to my ASM side, except that now I can’t remember the organization techniques.

Actually, a theater near me is doing Our Town. I really want to see A Comedy of Errors or Othello. And gosh, but I’d like to see Midsummer again.

No…. Not again. I can’t come in August, either. It turns out that my parents are leaving for home from California on the 4th of August, but I stay for two weeks until the 17th when we’re seeing the play in Ashland. That’s great, because I only see my Grandparents and cousins once a year, but bad because I have to miss the Kokon. I’ll probably come to the projected November one, though!

The camp I’m going to is very selective, so maybe I won’t get in! I wrote a really bad 100 word paragraph, so that might be enough. Then again, I have a 4.0 GPA, so it’s a bit iffy.

It was slightly disappointing, actually, because even if I had seen the shop before we left, there would have been no way of finding you. Did you happen to see a large group of wet, bedraggled-looking teenagers in dirty clothes wandering through the streets sometime around the 18th, 17th, or thereabouts? That was us.
