MuseBlog is being overhauled so that various components will work nicely together and not explode into a chrono-synclastic infundibulum or something. As a result, things may look odd around here for a while. We regret the inconvenience.

AWESOME PIC!!!!!
First post?
That is awesome! I want one!
Yummy Musesicles….
(first post?)
Ooh, nice pic Lady Bunniful! Skills in computer graphic programs evade me. Woe is me. (First post?)
Wow. What’s the muse on the left?
I do believe that is Chad.
So, earlier today, Opal comes rushing in.
“Alice! Alice! I need you to help you rescue a kitten!”
My response to this was: “Why does the kitten need rescuing!”
“It’s stuck in some bushes,” she says, and, seeing as bushes probably don’t hinder many kittens, I decided not to help.
Well, guess what.
We have a kitten!
Wow!
That is a completely and entirely incredible picture. *retires eating muse-sicle*
Sugar Free? Aw…
It’s now CA law to use hands-free phones.
Yeah. Well, the weathers not hot!
I made stinging nettle soup the other day. First, I went to the animal garden, which is a really nice wood with deer and rabbits and a couple of elk right out of the city, and I picked a bunch of stinging nettles. And then I rinsed the, boiled them for ten minutes, immediately rinsed them with cold water, and put them in a soup. It’s a traditional danish dish, but because it’s kinda difficult to prepare (ie, you HAVE to pick the nettles yourself) it’s not very popular. It tasted very good.
Neh. I am cutting out all sugar, all creams, all butters and margarines, and all excesive fats. Bleh. I wouldn’t have to, but this stewing that I’ve been doing lately has left it’s mark, and I’m horrably out of shape.
Plus, I’ve just quit my job, and since I’m starting boarding school and going on vacation, there’s no chance of me getting ajob for the next three weeks. Therefore, I hav eto rely on babysitting. But I only have around sixhundred kroner (around a hundred dollars) in my bank account, and I have to get new riding gloves and that’s around ahundred kroner, and then if my friends and i are going to the ammusement park, that’s twohundred kroner, so then there’s threehundred kroner left. Oh. That’s not very much at all…
*prints out adds to hang in library and other places.*
Awesome pic! I want to eat it!
Awesome picture! But sugar free? Really?
That takes all the fun out of everything.
AHH WHOA AHHHHH YAYAYAY NICE IMAGE LADY B.!!!!!!!!!!
I would hate to eat those Musesicles! They’re too nice.
1, 2, 3-Clearly, including “First post?” in your post does not guarantee your post will automatically become the first post.
I find it amusing that three posts in a row included exactly the same phrase. I think we all need to switch our thinking from “first post is cool” to “Most interesting post is cool.” Because an interesting post would require some thought and effort, wouldn’t be a one-line post, and would add to the blog positively. *Gently fines 1 small piece of virtual chocolate apiece*
10-Stinging nettle soup?!? I guess Zemtee’s Chief of Fire and other hazards would be careful.
Can I have some soup?
11-Could you eat a Musesicle at least?
MWAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! I will be 5,000 TOMORROW!!!
Red-tailed HAWK

(13) Strangely enough, when I went on my photoshoot at the grocery store, the one taste treat I could NOT find was plain ol’ traditional, sugar-filled popsicles. I considered cloning out the phrase, but to my warped mind at least there is something rather droll about the idea of sugar-free Muses.
Curious, isn’t it, how so many of my MB graphics start out in a grocery store….
Hey everybody, I’m back!
15-It is hard to find something that isn’t a weird flavor, fat-free, sugar-free, low-sodium, “light,” smaller than it used to be, expensive, or recalled. And I’m sure that’s just a small part of the list.
I imagine the images begin in the grocery store because that is one place Muser-age people must find things to buy, and lots of them. Even if they fall into the above list, we must have lots of things to eat! Speaking of which, I should soon go forage in the kitchen…
I had one of those oatmeal breakfast bars, the square ones, this morning. I think it is 50% smaller than those in the box we bought last week. At least 50% smaller than they were in the past.
Red-tailed HAWK

16-Hi! Where were you? *Welcome back pies*
Red-tailed HAWK

10- I love nettles. They’re good in tea too if you mix them with something astringent, but not just by themselves.
Opal named the kitten Riley, but I can’t bring myself to call him that, so I just call him Gatito.
He doesn’t want to eat regular food, not even the wet stuff or dry stuff greatly softened. My mom’s gone to get kitten formula, and until then he will nurse off my eyelid (ow).
Would Koko-sicles be too thin for real life popsicles?
19- Aww! Can I have a virtual snuggle?
20- Sure, but be careful. He has sharp claws and is likely to bit your nose.
Maybe I’ll send in a picture.
Nice picture, although I admit it gave me a bit of a shock when I saw it, I’d gotten so used to the Sumer is a Cumin’ In one….
Alice~ Aww, a kitten! What color is he? *reaches through computer screen to pet the new kitten*
10~ I’ve had nettle soup before, it’s so good. My mom made it at a living history event, and it was the first time during the week that I’d been properly full, yum. (When we go to those I tend to be too busy visiting and looking around to remember to eat.)
So, I was feeding the kitten with the bottle Mom brought home, and he BIT OFF and SWALLOWED the ENTIRE NIPPLE. And then he walked over to his dish full of softened dry food and ate that.
And now he’s climbing up my back. Or was. By the time I finished typing that he’d moved on. Aw.
22- He’s white and tabby. [Here I was forced to pause because he had jumped up and my typing arm and was clawing me in an attempt to stay on.] His legs are and belly are all white, his back is mostly tabby with a few spots of white, and his face is mostly tabby with a white nose. He’s as cute as buttons on a wung!
LOL, I like the Chadsicle.
I need to renew my Muse subscription.
23- Ohmygosh, that’s really funny!
23~ He sounds adorable! *melts*
By the way, I posted more on the history thread that we’ve taken over and turned into a wishing-for-a-kokonvention-and-a-job-on-a-tall-ship thread….
25- I noticed. The thing is, I’m not sure how much School will interfere with my tall-ship-availability. I wonder if they can take crew members just for the summer… I’ll have to see.
hey guys, I’m kinda-sorta back now. I’ve been really busy lately, so it’s not a lack of love for all of you Musers that has kept my at bay! By the way, Lady Bunniful, I love the popsicle picture!
15- What! What store did you go to?
Oh, by the way, I may or may not have internet for the next couple of days.
27- Hi, greekgurl! *lots of pies*
26~ I’d imagine you could set a time frame that you would work….
16 – *attempts to argue* *fails* *pays off debt*
23 – Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww… *melts*
27 – Hi!
Love the banner!
9) It’s the LAW
How many signs on the freeway have told me this? haha. I wonder how many tickets will go out today.
10) Picking nettles does not sound fun, but the soup sounds good. And on your other post, I always want to cut out bad stuff from my diet but it never quite works out that way…so kudos to you for having the willpower!
23) Awww he sounds so cute! and somewhat vicious for his size whoa
-headdesk- So we have a planned power outage in about twenty minutes. It’s supposed to last till three..I’ll try to type this quick.
More importantly, the LotR screening was awesome. Parking was a hassle, but we did eventually get there! It was being held at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences theatre in Beverly Hills. (Let me make it clear that I have never been to Beverly Hills so I was very much :0 at everything. I guess we weren’t in the super ritzy part but the homes we saw were very nice.)
So we gave them out tickets and went inside…they had movie posters in the lobby and it was so cool to see those in public again! They were interviewing the…I think it was the producer of the movie? Yeah they had the producer, art directors, film editors, people like that…no PJ though haha XD
Then we went upstairs. I was looking at the movie poster on the side walls and practically fell over…sadly. We were given a nice kind of flyer on good paper that had a few stills from the movies and the movie title, with more info on the back.
The actual screening itself was AWESOME. Everybody cheered when Aragorn finally decapitated the uruk-hai at the end…The sound was really good too, and despite having my view somewhat blocked at times it was an amazing experience. There was a panel at the end and they talked about various things, but I was practically falling asleep because by that time it was getting on towards 11 and I had been sitting there for three glorious hours already.
And I lived happily ever after, to the end of my days 8D It was really cool, sorry for going on for so long.
See y’all later….I’m off to actually act like I have a life apart from MuseBlog. (Meaning, I’ve convinced myself that the mail MIGHT have gotten here by now, and my Muse MIGHT have come, and it MIGHT be there waiting for me, and I MIGHT be able to read it and then post about it later….yes, I’m totally pathetic.) (I like parentheses.) (Can you tell?)
Wow, great picture!
So Alice has a kitten. What’s its name?
I’m going to the beach today. I think. If the new Muse is in the mail, I’m staying home and reading it. But I need to go to the beach. It’s freaking hot here! I need one of those Musicles…
I Googled “Myers-Briggs test” and took a free version… no downloading… and my personality type is ESTJ.
No, it was different. Wait.
It actually was ENTP. My mistake…
33- Ooh sounds fun! Wish I could’ve been there… ( ♥ LOTR.)
We just got back from taking Riley to the VET. He’s six weeks old and has no fleas or ear mites. Plus the fact that he bit the nipple off the bottle is no problem, so yay! And my dad’s coming over, so double yay!
*munches MuseSicle*
-19 you got a new kitten? I ♥ all cats…
-33
HAPPY CANADA DAY! I doubt any of you knew that was today but it is and there will be fireworks. Nice pic Lady B.
(41) By coincidence, I just now had a Canadian visitor here at the museum and we commented on the fact that today is Canada Day.
23- Bit it off and swallowed it, too. That’s an intense kitten you have there.
*Readies the armor for virtual-snuggle*
…That kind of makes me wish I actually owned a set of armor.
[Snip. References to off-blog contacts are strongly discouraged. –Admin.]
-41 I knew! it’s marked clearly on my calendar.
i am going to make flavors for the musesicles
urania-catnip
chad-eggpalnt
koko-blackberry pie
crraw-pansy
pwt-coke
aeiou-pomegranite (did i spell that right?)
bo- grass
mimi-pizza
feather-doughnut
(i don
41-Canada day? What does it celebrate?
He he he- I remember when my cat had kittens. They can be quite the little demons… *winces at memories of tiny, pointed, claws*
(oops double post_
sorry about the “(i don” at the end. it was supposed to be (i don’t like dunkin’ doughnuts) but the typing box got really narrow and i couldnt see anything so i hit the backspace button in an attempt to make it wider but it didn’t work
oops, double post, but since Rt-H is being so sensitive about posts…
I’m forgetting a Muse! All I’ve got is Feather, Chad, Kokopelli, Pwt, Crraw, Mimi, Aeiou and Urania. That’s only 8!
[Snip. References to off-blog contacts are strongly discouraged. –Admin.]
49- Bo.
Sorry… double post… but:
48 – It does that on Internet Explorer. Or I think it DID. I didn’t think it did that anymore. I use Firefox.
50- I see. I’m going out to lunch right now, but I’ll look later!
53 – Thanks!
46-No. It’s “pomegranate”. I think. But it definitely does not have an “i” in it.
Hi. I’m NAPOI.
You know me. But not under this name. I have been rapidly changing my name recently. I don’t know. It’s probably just a phase.
Hi, Athenian Psycho!
46~ Aww, I’m allergic to eggplant. (That would certainly make an interesting flavor for a frozen desert though!)
I ♥ pomegranate!! There’s this great soy ice cream that comes in the best flavors, and one of the is pomegranate and dark chocolate chips…..*dies*
Oh, oh, oh! Speaking of that ice cream, the other day we found out that they make, get get this, KEY LIME PIE FLAVORED ICE CREAM!!!!!!!! (I hope that turned out green like I meant it too…)
Anyway, I thought that was a significant advance for Mostly Harmless…..even if they don’t know it, heh, heh, heh!
Great picture! I admit, though…I think it might be a bit creepy to eat a Muse.
Alice (6): Flamablamablous! Does he like to be held?
49-Bo!
46- interesting, here’s what I would choose…
Urania- Star Berries
Kokopelli-Banana Cream
Bo: Grass or Chocolate
Craww: blackberry
Mimi: Steak (don’t ask me why, she’s Australian and Australia has good steak, not that I know it’s good steak, because I’m a vegetarian, people say it’s good steak and meat stuff)
AEIOU: mixed berry
Pwt: Mustard (again don’t ask.)
Feather: Of course, Jelly filled sprinkle donuts *sigh* I wish I had one right now…
[Snip. References to off-blog contacts are strongly discouraged. –Admin.]
62- We probably shouldn’t discuss it here.
63 – Okay…
59- Well, when he’s sleepy he does. When he’s awake he just wants to run around and utterly defies any attempt to be held.
58- Ooh! I love key lime pie ice cream!
Actually, I like key lime pie in general.
I just like pie in general.
I was in the car for 5 hours today. I am done.
61- i think one of the muses should be mango but i’m not sure which….
Hello! yes, do have internet!
Whew! I just got back from NYC. I was there with my choir, singing in Carnegie Hall. It was AWESOME but now I am sick. I lost my voice but gained a fever. :p bleah
I think that Kokopelli would either be licorice or pepper, probably due to his color. And AEIOU would be raspberry–again, because of the hot pink probably. I’m too tired (and lazy) to think of something more imaginative.
9 – But people can still text, right? Strange.
10 – I don’t know if we have stinging nettles around here, but that soup sounds really good!
16 – Hello again!
23 – Awww! Fierce but cute
26 – Tallship? Crew members? *wants to sail* Except I get seasick, so maybe that would be a bad idea, but it would be worth it to get to be on a tallship!
27 – Hi!
35 – Beach? *envies* It’s hot here, but I’m landlocked.
38 – I’m INTP. We’re almost twins!
46 – Mmm, I want a Kokosicle.
I found “Attack of the Smart Pies” on the library shelf the other day. It made me happy! Now if they would only subscribe to Muse, too.
What’s a Myers-Brigg test?
Ok Kokonilly’s snipped posts just gave me deja-vu about 3 times.
Yay for Alice having a kitty!
Ok it’s 12:30 so I’m leaving.
71: It’a a personality test; I can’t be bothered to explain it…google it?
73- Oh yes, I googled and took it, but it didn’t make a lot of sense…
Alice, you saved a kitty? aw….. He sounds so cute!
*cuddles my old, fat cat* *hiss* *AH :shock:*
OH NO!
*you didn’t see anything*
47- quite possibly something to do with confederation? I never pay attention in history. *is embaressed*
58- There’s an icecream place I know that ocasionaly makes pies flavoured iceceram but they put bits of the crust in it which is just plain weird.
Can one of the Muse’s have an Oreo flavor? i’ve seen the ice cream but not the popsicle. By the way, the ice cream is REALLY GOOD!!! thats all.
Hi. I’m on Internet Explorer trying to find out if the comment box is actually shrinking. It’s not.
Weird…
Hm. Maybe I should write more.
Nope. It’s not shrinking.
79~ I think it’s only the new version of IE. The best way to tel if you’ll have comment box shrinkage is to hold down the Enter bar. If you do get shrinkage, it’s quite disconcerting and strange.
77~ This one that we got has little bits of crust in, I thought it was pretty cool, actually.
80 – I was using IE 7.
My dad made me go biking today. He loves it. Me? I hate biking. I hate bikes. Hate the exhilaration, hate the crashes, and hate the fact that my dad gets mad at me half the time.
82~ I like to ride my bike around for fun and to get around, but I’ve never been seriously “biking” along a trail or anything. I don’t think that would be very much fun, especially on my balloon tire bike from 1939, that would be rather strange.
Maybe try telling your dad that you want to spend time with him, but you can’t stand biking, and find something that you can both enjoy.
Wow, the blog is slow right now. Only about three people are posting.
Me, I’m looking over this thing like a hawk, eagerly awaiting any new comments… (I’m bored…)
I should eat lunch now… sorry for the double post…
I’m on, for a little bit. How’s the moderation though, it seems pretty fast…..
I’m back from lunch.
3 new comments.
WOW…. nobody’s here. It’s a desert.
75 (“hippo”)- Actually, my sister saved him. I was never of the impression that he needed saving, until my mom explained to me that he would otherwise have spent his entire life on the streets.
82- I like biking. Not in town, though, with, like, streets and everything.
I like biking through the neighborhood. I want to bike to Target soon. We live near enough. But my parents won’t let me.
There really isn’t that much activity on the blog right now….huh.
I wonder when Mom will decide to com into the house, she said she was coming abut an hour ago…….
I’m hungry. *forages in kitchen* *is still hungry*
“Mo-om!”
86-The moderation IS pretty fast!
If people don’t start posting more, I’m going to take over the “Recent Comments” bar!
Slow day…
I just spent the afternoon in the woods, digging up old stuff from a maple sugar shack that burned down in the 1920’s.
My cousin and I found a syrup bucket, barrel hoops, and old bed springs.
Tommorrow we are going to go collect cow bones, start a moss garden, and pick a wildflower boquet.
I luv the country…
and the city….
and everything else…
whoa…I( just tried IE 7. what is up with it? I’m a Firefox user through and through.
92- That sounds like fun. I’m in the country too, but I’m making rather different use of my time.
I should be ashamed of myself.
I’m going outside now.
Hi, musers! It’s me, Gingersnap. I’ve been gone for a really long time. (three monthes, I think) So, I just thought I’d swing by and see how everything’s going. See if anyone remembers me. It’s nice to be back.
Hi Gingersnap! I remember you!
[Reference to off-the-blog Web site snipped. –Admin.]
ok, with that outta the way,
Hi Gingersnap, I do rememeber you though I have vague memories…
Hi Gingersnap!
Who wrote that mile-long post and why didn’t they think about the comments bar?
98 – Bookworm, I think.
71-It’s a test that, by a simple series of four questions, that identifies your personality type. I’m an INTJ! If you tell me yours, I can make a reasonable explanation!
95-*Pies Gingersnap* Was I around three months ago? *Thinks* Yes! Yes, my three-month blogaversarry passed on June 29th!
ENTP, I am, Bookworm!
101-Extraverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving
by Marina Margaret Heiss
“Clever” is the word that perhaps describes ENTPs best. The professor who juggles half a dozen ideas for research papers and grant proposals in his mind while giving a highly entertaining lecture on an abstruse subject is a classic example of the type. So is the stand-up comedian whose lampoons are not only funny, but incisively accurate.
ENTPs are usually verbally as well as cerebrally quick, and generally love to argue–both for its own sake, and to show off their often-impressive skills. They tend to have a perverse sense of humor as well, and enjoy playing devil’s advocate. They sometimes confuse, even inadvertently hurt, those who don’t understand or accept the concept of argument as a sport.
ENTPs are as innovative and ingenious at problem-solving as they are at verbal gymnastics; on occasion, however, they manage to outsmart themselves. This can take the form of getting found out at “sharp practice”–ENTPs have been known to cut corners without regard to the rules if it’s expedient — or simply in the collapse of an over-ambitious juggling act. Both at work and at home, ENTPs are very fond of “toys”–physical or intellectual, the more sophisticated the better. They tend to tire of these quickly, however, and move on to new ones.
ENTPs are basically optimists, but in spite of this (perhaps because of it?), they tend to become extremely petulant about small setbacks and inconveniences. (Major setbacks they tend to regard as challenges, and tackle with determin- ation.) ENTPs have little patience with those they consider wrongheaded or unintelligent, and show little restraint in demonstrating this. However, they do tend to be extremely genial, if not charming, when not being harassed by life in general.
In terms of their relationships with others, ENTPs are capable of bonding very closely and, initially, suddenly, with their loved ones. Some appear to be deceptively offhand with their nearest and dearest; others are so demonstrative that they succeed in shocking co-workers who’ve only seen their professional side. ENTPs are also good at acquiring friends who are as clever and entertaining as they are. Aside from those two areas, ENTPs tend to be oblivious of the rest of humanity, except as an audience — good, bad, or potential.
Some Famous ENTPs:
Alexander the Great_Confederate General J. E. B. Stuart_Sir Walter Raleigh
Fictional:
Mercutio, from Romeo and Juliet_Horace Rumpole, from John Mortimer’s Rumpole of the Bailey series_Dorothy L. Sayers’s detective Lord Peter Wimsey
A Functional Analysis — by Joe Butt
Extraverted iNtuition
ENTPs are nothing if not unique. Brave new associations flow freely from the unconscious into the world of the living. Making, discovering and developing connections between and among two or more of anything is virtually automatic. The product of intuition is merely an icon of process; ENTPs are in the business of change, improvement, experimentation.
The attraction Extraverted iNtuition has toward the real and physical amounts to a cosmic non sequitur: theory is drawn to practice. Such encounters are clearly puzzling. Both parties–the intuitor and the realist–are aware of a xenic quality in their meeting, with reactions ranging from recoil to reverie.
Introverted Thinking
Thinking is iNtuition’s ready assistant, an embodiment of the sort of logic found in laws, boards and circuits. Thinking’s job is to lend focus and direction to iNtuition’s critical mass. The temporary habitations of changeling iNtuition are constructed of Boolean materials from Thinking’s storehouse. Ultimately, Thinking is no match for iNtuition’s prodigiousness. Systems lie in various states of disarray, fragmentary traces of Thinking’s feverish attempts to shadow and undergird the leaps of the dominant function. One can only suppose that Thinking must continue to work during REM sleep pulling together iNtuition’s brainchildren into integral wholes.
Extraverted Feeling
To the extent that Feeling is developed, ENTPs extravert Feeling judgment. As a result, it is not uncommon to find affability and bonhomie in members of this species. Tertiary functions are potentially utilitarian. Their limitations appear in their relative underdevelopment, diminished endurance, and vulnerability. ENTPs may harness Feeling’s good will in areas such as sales, service, drama, humor and art. ENTP loyalty often runs high and can be hooked by those the ENTP counts as friends.
Introverted Sensing
Like a tail on the kite of iNtuition, Introverted Sensing counterweighs these beings drawn to nonconformity and anarchy. These shadowy sensory forms, so familiar to SJ types, serve as lodestones which many ENTPs employ Herculean measures to escape. “Question authority! (then do exactly what it tells you)” sums up the dilemma in which ENTPs may find themselves by attempting to best the tarbaby Sensing. Occasionally acknowledging awareness of norms and abnormality could, in theory, be potentially freeing.
Additionally, I’ve noticed that ENTPs have the need to have areas of expertise/excellence/uniqueness in which one is second to none. I’ve never beaten an ENTP at his/her own game–not in the final analysis. (e.g., just tonight, my neighbor who is recuperating from an illness received a call from an ENTP friend offering his special recipe for tea. The instructions required only the finest ingredients, a particular brand of orange juice, tea made with a ball–none of those horrid teabags–…, which will of course make the best tea of which he himself drinks 50 gallons each winter!)
A Few More Famous ENTPs

See you all later! I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time on the computer today, so I’m going to go and do whatever I should have been doing earlier….oops.
100- I’m INTJ too! But I already read the explanation, so posting it is absolutely unneccessary.
Yay! I’m like Bugs, Wile E. Coyote, and Garfield!
102- Joe Butt… gosh, it must stink to have that last name. “Butt.” *chuckles*
Good mooooooooooooooorning everyone!
*hyper attack*
Arg! There is a very long post a little ways up on that page but I can’t sit still long ,enough to read it……..
*jumps up and down*
ajfhikdabslifjdsaoirj;dsfmnflkdashjnfl;mda;l!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ENFP, if I remember correctly. Extroverted, ‘Ntuitive, Feeling, Perceptive.
107–Gooooood morning, good moooorning! Ain’t it great to stay up late? Gooood morning, good morning, to you! (And you and you and you!)
107- Good morning Kiwi!
The kitty is here with me in the country. He’s muy muy adorable.
Hey everyone! I’m getting ready to leave for Anime Expo in about half an hour…dunno if you guys are really interested in that, but I’ll be gone for the next couple days, and then it’s Arizona/New Mexico (and hopefully many koko sightings)
argh I’m so excited…gotta focus on not ruining my cosplay…
anyway, bye everybody! 8DDD/
(and alice, I wish I could see your kitten, he sounds so cute…)
110- Bye!
He’s very cute; right now he’s sitting on my shoulder. Asleep, I think. Sweet of him, if a trifle inconvenient.
107- Good morning! Or good afternoon if you’re in my time zone!
109- Lucky. All I’ve got is a lazy bum dog. (And an evil bird, but I don’t count her)
I’m an INFP I think. I’m not positive.
Grk. I do not like Great Expectations. I’m only on Ch. 8 and there’s like 29385729387 chapters.
I love the Dragonriders of Pern series!
I wish I had a kitten! But both my parents are allergic to cats.
Ah well. I do have a bunny!
My puppy is very hyper I must say. Though she goes on two loooooooong walks a day, and only gets 1 1/4 cups of food, she’s still a tiny bit over weight. She loves to run around in the yard till she has to plomp down in the shade and sleep for 2 hours.
I’m too lazy to read all the posts that have been posted while I was gone. What’s more, I’m too lazy to post a “summary” of my trip (although it would probably end of spanning several very long posts). But it’s suffice to say that I’m back, and rather tired.
113~ I’m reading Great Expectations right now too! Although I’m in the 50s, as far as chapters go.
Our library has a summer “book club” program where you get points for reviews you write about books, and points for ow many hours you spend reading. I’m over the 100 point marker just in reading alone…….they only have 15 spaces for an hour of reading FOR THE WHOLE SUMMER!!!! I’m gonna have to get another form……
115~ Good to see you back, I’ve missed reading your posts!
115- Hiya!
I’m going to read Great Expectations too…eventually…
117~ I’ve got so many “to read eventually” books it’s not even funny. *shudders* just for starters there’s Les Misrables, Hitch Hicker’s Guide to the Galaxy….I want to see what all this is about 42!!
Urgh, the mouse for my computer broke, and I’ve been using the evil little touchpad…….I HATE IT. It goes all over the place and is evil in general. I think it was designed by HPBs.
NOT FUNNY. (I ran away screaming… they looked at me oddly…)
115) Welcome back Cat’s Meow!
Sounds like you had fun!
I do believe that my hyper attack is gone, so I can sit down long enough to read all of these posts! *reads posts*
102) Wow. That went right over my head.
Ack, violin lesson…..now. I gotta go, see yiz all later!!!!
118- I have to read it for school, and it doesn’t look bad, but I just need to get hold of it somehow…
111- Aww. *is jealous of Alice/kitty* I love my fishy, but you can’t quite cuddle him. Or rather, you could, but I’m not quite sure he would enjoy it too much…
118- Ugh, the laptop touchpad is the pure brainchild of some HPB. Whenever I’m trying to type, or move the little red cursor-stick in the middle of the keyboard, my right palm brushes it and the cursor moves EVERYWHERE, or clicks random buttons. Very irking.
re: books
i have so many books to read this summer…besides the six for summer reading, i have all these books i’ve been putting off saying “i’ll read it in the summer when i have time”
and now i’m spending all my time on the comp. typical.
actually i have been reading a TON more recently. but y’know. there’s always something else to read.
i liked both great expectations and dragonriders of pern (i have pretty much everything ever in that series)
Speaking of books, has anyone read The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck? I just finished reading it (summer reading assignment) and didn’t like it so much, but I’d like to hear some other opinions.
Laptop touchpads, grrr. They’re so hard to control. Stupid cursor never goes where I want it…
74 – It’s basically just a test that groups people by personality type; I think it’s meant to help people understand/get along with each other better.
82 – I like casual biking around the neighborhood, but I’d probably freak out if I went on city streets or rugged trails.
90 – Sounds like me at the moment. I guess I really should be learning to make food for myself, but I’m lazy. :p
95 – Hi! I don’t immediately recall you, but I’m bad at keeping up with everyone, and three months ago I was still on hiatus from the blog.
110 – Anime expo???? Take me with you!!! *stows away* *gets thrown out by TSA* Anyways, have fun!
118 – Same here; my “to read” list is longer than my “have read” this summer! :/
How do I always end up spending three hours on the MB? I need to get off and read now. Anybody familiar with Theophile Gautier? I picked up a volume of his work with no idea what to expect and ended up loving it. I’m in the middle of “Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell” now. I got it for that book discussion ages ago, but I’m only just now reading it. Typical.
I just took the Myers-Brigg Test. I’m a INTP.

I last took Myers-Briggs in January, and at that time I was a tie between INTJ and INFJ.

125- I like the grapes of wrath. Ma and Pa got on my nerves at times but i thought it was amazingly written and I like Casey.
108-That’s the same as my brother, L!
113-I finished Great Expectations! I’m just starting David Copperfield! Are you at the part with Miss H. yet?
119-Nooooooo…
126-I’m going to read that soon… Oh, and, I just got Twilight! I will now see what the fuss is about…
Guess what?
I’m doing a performing arts camp (we’re doing Seussical, and I’m Mayzie!?!!) and there’s this guy who’s in the camp too and he gets Muse too! And it was really weird because the camp’s been going for almost 2 weeks and he just noticed this necklace that I got in Arizona with Koko on it and he said it reminded him of a magazine and I said Muse? and he said yeah. I should have known, though, because he’s smart.
An unknown Muser? Pie him and bring him aboard!
132- performing arts camp! almost all of my friends are theater people…. suesical is a fun show and who wouldn’t want to sing “amazing mayzie”?
132-Awesome!! Tell him to come on the blog!!
Today was icky. I had guitar lessons and my sister decided that it was a good idea to bike there. It was not a good idea to bike there. My sister had a great time because she has a 3rd leg that is called a bike. I had a horrible time because it was pouring rain and there were an extra 2 miles between my house and the music center that weren’t there in my head.
I called my mom and got her to take me home, but I scratched the bumper of her new car with my bike. This is very bad because she’s had her other car for years and years without getting a scratch, and then she has a new one for a month and the bumper looks like it’s been attacked by a cat.
Ok that’s enough of my whining. How was everyone else’s day?
132- You have a kokopelli necklace?
-132 Yes pie him, ten convince him to come on here, then you’d be having a kokon!
HI!
I’m back.
Oh, God, it’s good to be back. So did anybody miss me? I missed, like, everything about home. MuseBlog, Clarissa, clean bathrooms, Ramen noodles…
Anyway. I picked up a few catchphrases and words like “Bangin” and “Chill” and “intense” and “What are you?” and “Calm down, crazytown!” and “FALSE.”
Anyway.
138- HI! Welcome back! *pies*
138 – Welcome back!
138- *pies* Welcome back!
119- Don’t panic, but it sounds like your cousin is under the control of the HPBs. Or she just has really bad decorating taste.
132- Yeah, show him to the blog! We could use a few more guys around here…
138- Welcome back Beavo! And I agree, Ramen noodles are worth missing.
I’m very jumpy right now. And I want to go outside and play soccer, in the hopes that my leg will stop twitching. But it’s very hot outdoors. And there’s not a lot of soccer that I can play by myself. So I came back indoors to look up drills that I can do by myself. And there wasn’t a lot that you can do without cones. -sigh-
I kind of feel like climbing a tree or something. Or lying on a rock next to a stream under a bunch of trees with a nice breeze. Or doing something besides sitting in my room with the windows barely open so that it’s rather dark in here, typing on the computer like I’ve been doing all day. -sighhhhh-
Welcome back Beavo! I did notice that you weren’t posting, where were you? *pies*
113–I feel your pain. I had to read it freshman year, it is the LOOOOOOOONGEST book in existance. Except for maybe…well, no, it’s the longest.
126–Wasn’t Theophile Gautier the guy who was in the Mona Lisa article? The one who saw strange and mysterious women everywhere?
131–Advice: Read Twilight when you have lots of time. A day or two, depending on how fast you read. You’ll be completely addicted and won’t be able to put it down, even if you’re supposed to be doing something important, like eating.
For my summer reading I have to read Life of Pi, Brave New World, and this really interesting book called How to Read like an English Literature Professor. It’s actually pretty good, it’s giving me ideas for my writing.
As for books I actually wanted to read, I just read Uglies. It was kind of boring at the beginning (it’s kind of simply-written) but it picked up in the end, and now I want the second book because I want to know what happens!
And as for choice catch phrases–has anyone ever heard of saying “totes” instead of totally? My British friend just started using it and said it’s actually an American term, like East Coast (wouldn’t know, I’m southern CA). We were in New York City and he was going around saying how everything was “totes redic” (totally ridiculous). Sounds really wierd to me…
145-totes? what? I usually say completely, but then I’m not all jiggy with the hip lingo. *would be really embarrassing to children*
Oh man, if I ever have kids I’m going to pull my pants up to my nose and ask all their friends if they think I’m jiggy with the cool cats. I’ll also keep baby pictures of them on hand at all times, even more so at awkward times. *plans mental damage of children*
145 – I’ve never heard of it. (Then again, I’m from Eastern Washington, but still.)
ggg gfdsdfghjmnbvc dfrtfffffffffffffffffff
Ergh. Organizing my room… My thumbs are in great pain from sticking hundreds of thousands of pushpins into the wall.
*faints*
*pies Beavo* Welcome back!
146- Heehee.
144-Nerd camp!
Totes? False. Wrong. Incorrect. Zero totes, sir.
Welcome welcome Beavo! *pies*
Hmmmm. Should I take this Myers Briggs thing?
It did confuse me though………
Mwhahahaha!
I did it!

Awesomenessness!
I saw Wall-E last night… ‘Twas adorable, but so was the little, tiny, small town theater I went to.
Happy 4th of July, y’all.
Cheese. cheese. Cheeseity. Cheese!
145- it may be one of the longest books, but it is definitily worth it.
And “totes”? not where I live…. which is somewhere where “the city” means Manhattan.
*pies everyone with special fourth of July pies*
Happy Independence Day!
155-Holy Swiss Cheese!!!
I’m in the 4th of July parade woo!
Yay! Happy 4th! *Pies all with raspberry, blueberry, and cream pie* (that actually sounds kind of good…)
Heh I have a list of what I’m NOT going to do when I’m a parent. I mark it everytime my parents do something and I think I AM NEVER DOING THAT TO MY KIDS!!!! Like not letting them watch certain PG-13 movies even though they are almost 17…
Happy Fourth of July! *Waves flag*
Happy Independence Day!
158- Which movie did your parents not let you see, then?
Happy Independence day! We went to see fireworks last night, and it started raining just after they ended. Good timing, eh?
There was a huge crowd as everyone was leaving, it was like some great exodus of the firework-watchers, trekking halfway across town
GAPAs, have I sent you my “koko” picture?
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!! The Musesicles look as tasty as Kokopelli’s pies!!!!!! Still, since my parents don’t let me eat anything sugar-free, I guess I could’nt try them.
(162) Is this the one you mean?
163- you parents don’t let you have suger free stuff? Weird.
(164) I’m not putting that stuff in my mouth!
153- Hey, you’re INFJ too! *high five*
164- Neat!
I refuse to celebrate the fourth of July.
…
But I’ll still go watch the fireworks.
I’m uploading pictures from a CD on my computer to my computer. And it’s making lots of funny noises.
The reason behind this is that my mom is “strongly encouraging” me to make a scrapbook of what happened in DC. So I can achieve “closure”, or something like that.
But, for some reason, the computer thinks that I’m uploading 1200 pictures, when it should really only be about 400. I’m betting that videos have something to do with that.
-158 I hate it when parents do that. It’s like, “gee, it’s just pictures on a screen.”
-157 Wow! I have a 4th o’ July parade too, but I haven’t got permission to set off some of my h
memade fireworks for it…. *laughs maniacally*

I have done nothing remotely patriotic today, and I have no intentions to.
So far today, I’ve played tennis, tennis golf, and chess.
160–all the good ones. The Prestige. All the superhero movies. (which are my FAVORITES, like Spiderman and Batman and all that stuff). My mom thinks they’re too violent. I beg to differ, since I’ve seen them and she hasn’t
165–Well, Splenda and all that stuff is worse than sugar, really. I probably wouldn’t want my kids having that stuff too much either.
It’s the fourth?
Wow. I think I lost track of time worse than I thought I did. Dear me.
I just sent out a BIG email to everyone at SEP who’s email I had.
I’m just showing my cousin MuseBlog! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I’m editing pictures of my trip right now, for the scrapbook I’m going to eventually make.
I swear, CD and CJ have red-eye in every. single. picture.
4th of July… okay then…
I got a Swatch watch today! You ca nsee the gears and everything!!!!
167- why don’t you celebrate the fourth?
I went to the county fair yesterday. It was fun, mainly due to the fact that I was with two of my best friends all day.
It was awesome.
But scary. I saw this pink stuff poking out of the ground, and I thought it was HPB fur and freaked out and scared my non-Muser friends. On closer inspection, it turned out to be fake pink plastic grass.
Is it somehow related to the HPBs? Do they eat it? The world may never know.
(Darn. I just realized. I could have taken a sample of it over to Off With Their Heads!)
176- Because I don’t like patriotism. Government irritates me. All of it. it shouldn’t be necessary.
Soooo…I blew up a bottle with a bottle rocket. My best guy friend came over and we were like “Hmm, I wonder what would happen if you put a bottle rocket in the bottle upside down”
Turns out, it blows up and makes my dad really mad that we got glass all over the street.
And my BGF is staying at his friend’s house tonight.
I was really happy to see him because he’s visiting from North Carolina.
I really want to hang out with him again before he leaves.
Ha. I went to the Fourth of July Parade in Cabot. (The town with the Cabot factory in it. Don’t worry GAPAs, I’m not visiting anywhere close to there.)
Anyway, it was cute. The Cabot chesse truck threw cheese at us.
Then I went to a pre-wedding barbeque. It was also cute. I went swimming in the river there, and being the amazing clumsy person that I am, scraped myself up…
*wanders off*
I saw the fireworks yesterday in Chicago. They were beautiful. Than toady we went to the Taste of Chicago for the 3rd year in a row. I did not want to go.
I’m going down to the river to watch the fireworks and wave a little flag that says “Go Iceland” on it.
Really, it should say “Go MA” but oh well.
132-Amazing Mayzie… Break a Leg!
145-I already read while eating! ALL THE TIME… I also subconsciously start humming.
Well, actually, I didn’t. Firstly, I felt weird because I’m not Icelandic and am wholly against patriotism even if I was, and I felt that I was probably offending all sorts of people (If anyone saw, and I don’t think anyone did), so I handed my flag off to Eva, who didn’t care. And then we decided it was a failure and went home. The fireworks weren’t even happening yet.
First time ever getting burned by a sparkler
*joins the ranks*
Oh, my poor kitty.
The rubber nipple that he bit off and swallowed is, I dunno, stuck, or something. So he can’t… get rid of food in the normal way, and keeps throwing up. I don’t know what one is supposed to do in such a situation. The laxative the vet told my mom to give him didn’t do any good… So I really don’t know. Do we just hope he gets better after a while, or what? It’s so depressing…
Oh no, Alice! (
186- Oh, that’s terrible
I’m not good with animal health or anything, so I can’t really help… but tell Kitty to get well soon!
186~ Aww, the poor little baby!
I got a new mouse, and it’s really fast, like a cheetah on steroids. Who wants to guess where that quote came from??
‘Night all! I’m off for the day…or night, whatever.
186- Oh noes! How horrible. Our most heartfelt apologies. I won’t be coming on in about… hm, 10 days. See ya!
Zinc and Leafygreen(I’ve always wanted to try that!)I didn’t realise it was the fourth of july yesterday until I came here. It doesn’t matter, I’m like Alice. I don’t like fourth of jly becasue I think that loyalty to country is part of that which starts wars, but I don’t have a problem with loyalty to community. I’m not exactly sure what Alice’s ideas are, though….
17- which is why it is preferable to pick your own produce. Out in the woods. With protective gloves.
Seriously, my stinging Nettle soup was really good.
18- My family went to the outer banks for a week. It was really really fun, and I got to go jet skiing.
I don't really like the Fourth of July. It doesn't really seem holidæc to me. Or maybe I'm just against "my country"!164) *is suspicious* Is it safe?
167) Why don’t you wanna celebrate? July 4th is one of my favorites! Of course, we’re pretty much celebrating today. We didn’t even get to watch our towns fireworks because they were canceled! All we did yesterday was go over to my grandmother’s fancy nursing home and eat bad hotdogs and hamburgers. Today, we’re going over to our other grandparents house to cookout. My uncle, aunt, and cousins will be there too!
I love going to their house!
173) Hi cousin!
178) But you have to understand, that if we didn’t have a government we would be running around like crazy with no rules and…… it would just be a mess. I mean, I know that our leaders are corrupt, but, hey, they’re much better then some!
186) Oh No! We must help him!
Arg! *DONT READ THIS JUST LET ME RANT*
OK. It seems that a lot of people here aren’t patriotic! That annoys me so MUCH! I mean, at my school, we have to recite the Pledge of Alliegance every day and it irks me so much that maybe only 2 of 3 people actually stand in my classroom, much less say it. And then, some of those people are making fun of it! They don’t think about how good they’ve got it, compared to other countries! They don’t think about how there are soldiers from our country right now dying for them! They don’t even care! It drives me crazy when people tell me that they don’t like their country, when millions of other people from all over the world would die to live here! In fact, I know a lot of people from other countries in my hometown that are trying their hardest to be able to stay in America, but can’t! I know that our government has a lot of flaws, but no government is perfect! When I look around myself, it appears that, all in all, we have it pretty good. I love my land, and I am proud of it.
170–you used a GLASS bottle? o_O
184–Last year while we were on vacation, we went to Crowley Lake (in Northern CA) for fireworks. We went to a little park above the lake that we always go to, but this particular year things got really crazy, with like people drinking and all sorts of stuff. Anyways, every time a firework would go off, the people in front of us would yell, “VIVA MEXICO!!!!” and like everyone would cheer and drink some more. It was quite an experience.
Well, today we’re going camping. As usual. Only trouble is, Fremont’s higher than it’s ever been, so there aren’t any beaches to camp on… Also, the pontoon sunk. So we have a slight dilemma there.
I can’t post on the Muse Chess thread. Are you making a new one?
192- I don’t mind celebrating the community either, but… well yeah. Basically I agree with everything you just said.
193- My mom does it without gloves. It’s madness.
196 (re 178)- See, that’s the thing. Anarchy would only work if everyone had enough self-control etc. to not make a mess of things, and that would never happen. There are probably only a few people who could actually function in a situation with no government, and they wouldn’t be able to do it if other people didn’t behave. It wouldn’t really work. It’d be like LOTF or something. But I still don’t like government.
I won’t reply to your rant, because you told me not to read it, but I really want to.
Non-patriotic Americans upset me. Doesn’t anybody care about American history? The bloody battles we fought in the revolution? How great our country is, despite the DIRPs we have in our government? It’s ungrateful, if you ask me. At least you have the freedom to say you hate our country. Why don’t you move to Cuba, where you’ll be thrown in prison for complaining? Or how about Uganda? For every one of you, there’s a thousand Mexicans or Chinese who risk their lives to get here. I’m sure they’d gladly trade places with you.
119 – Oh, that stinks!
186 – Aww. Poor kitty.
201- Oh, I know. Our country is a whole lot freer than a lot of other countries, and until the economy crashed, we were a lot richer too (actually we probably still are….hmm). My problem isn’t with America, it’s with the whole idea of being told what to do, by people I don’t know. Or by the whole majority thing. If the majority says they want to do something – to elect a president, to pass a law – then everyone else just has to suffer along with it.
Like I said, government irks me.
I have two problems with America:
1) The number of natives that we displaced to live here. By the time we got here, they were practically all dead from diseases that we accidentally gave them, and then we had to go kill most of the rest of them so that we could spread further and grab more land.
2) Our views on secession. America started with secession, and less than a hundred years later, when a few states attempted to secede themselves, we fought them. Which makes sense, really. After all, England fought America when they broke off, and the only real difference is that this time the one that what was trying to leave lost, but honestly, you’d think we’d have some sympathy (although I can’t agree with the slave trade, it’s not as though the Union wasn’t keeping slaves, or at least being horrible to their ex-slaves).
3) (Yeah, I forgot about this one…) We have a dumb name. The United States? Honestly.
There it is. I’m sorry if I made anyone mad. I didn’t mean to.
I have no problem with patriotism. But, I’m bugged by the fact that Americans force their views (i.e. “America rocks”, “We are the best”, etc. etc.) on others and are totally insensitive of other’s views. People here make jokes about deportation a lot. Well, what if your parents are immigrants and you could be deported? Is that funny? Thought not.
I can totally see why the rest of the world hates us. I don’t hate us. But I can see why people hate us. Half of the celebrities helping third-world countries are doing it simply to jump on the bandwagon.
I didn’t mean to offend anyone, but it’s hard not to with a touchy topic like patriotism.
(186) Alice, if kitty isn’t doing any better and can’t keep food down, I’d call back the vet.
204 – When we were studying the Civil War in history class this year we did it a lot from the Confederate perspective, because that’s the side we were representing in our reenactment. It’s too easy to think of those people as “The Confederates”, who were only fighting to be an irritation to the Union.
In reality, they were people with faces and names who were fighting for their independance, and for what they thought their rights should be. In their minds, it was just a second Revolutionary War. I don’t think that slavery is right, but too often it’s just taught that they seceded because they didn’t like what the United States was doing. Which was true, but that’s the same reason the US declared indepenace from Britan. The United states tends to support other countries declaring their independance (Kosovo, for example) but it’s clearly quite different when it’s happening to your own country.
205 – It bothers me what a bad perspective people at my school have on immigrants, Mexican immigrants in particular. We have exactly one Cuban immigrant, one African American, and a few people that could be considered Asian at my school. Out of 230 kids. Not because our school is racist or anything, but just because there aren’t a lot of Mexicans or African Americans in the area.
But, because of that, kids have a really bad opinion of most immigrants. It hurts me when they talk about illegal Mexican immigrants as being “evil” – or even legal Mexican immigrants. They don’t distinguish very well. See, I basically grew up in Mexican culture from Kindergarten to 4th grade. Most of the kids in my class were first or second generation immigrants. Most of them still have family in Mexico that wanted to come to the U.S. And yet, a lot of people in the United States don’t seem to get they they are people too. =/
Wow. Those were semi-random rants.
205- good point, but if your parents are immigrants, but you were born here, then you’re an American citizen, and can’t be deported.
206- Yeah, it may come to that. But I think he’s doing better today… or maybe it was just my dream where he made a miraculous recovery imposing itself on my perception of reality. I dunno. He was rooting around in my hair like he used to.
See, I’m trying to think of other options, and if the laxative doesn’t work, it probably comes down to an operation or something. And I’m 99% sure that my mom would have him put down instead.
I’m really sorry this ever happened. I’ve become totally attached now.
207 – I know! Here in MN, there aren’t exactly a ton of Asians. Or African-Americans. I’m a first-generation US citizen. And, yes, there is some racism! It bugs me to no end. Immigrants are not evil. I have family still in the Philippines, and they’re content. My uncle recently moved from Rhode Island to the Philippines. They’re still people. In the debate unit, some people were calling for tighter borders, even to wall off the US from the rest of the world. I think that is so stupid. Even on Monday, my parents are having an interview so that they can be permanent residents of the US.
It’s not their fault they’re not US citizens. They were just unlucky enough not to be born here.
The Philippines is a third-world country, and we’re doing fine here. Both of my parents have well-paying jobs, have a lot of friends, and have basically made a home in the US.
But that’s just personal experience. Honestly, I can’t see why people say immigration is bad, drawing upon my experience.
208 – I would NOT want my parents to be out of the country and me to be here. I would want to stay with them. (sorry, double post)
Randomly cool! Dad bought diplomacy (the board game). i’m about halfway through reading the rules, and i think i understand most of it. it’s pretty complicated though, and i’ll probably suck at it XD
209-ouch! poor kitty…hope he gets better
(209) I know what you mean [referring to your last paragraph]. Been there, more than once. Did the vet give you a time frame as to how long it might take the laxative to work? If not, you might want to find that much out at least. Other than that, from my experience, appetite, keeping food down, and energy levels are the key things to watch. Of course, I forget, you’ve spent a lot of time around animals, so you probably know all that. *hopes for the best*
212- Ooh! Diplomacy!
213- Yeah… Appetite’s good, energy’s decent… Keeping food down, not so much.
The thing about the laxative is that it makes him sick. Sicker than usual, I mean. I don’t think it stays down long enough to work.
210 – I’m not an immigrant, but I understand exactly what you mean because of my elementary school. I mean, what’s the point of walling the US off from the rest of the world? Yeah, like that’s going to improve our international image.
209 – *sends Alice’s kitty Get Well Soon cards*
214 – Oh no! Poor kitty!! *melts*
215 – I know. What IS the point?!?! I mean, enough people hate us already, why make them hate us more?
Hello, everybody! I’m back!
Poor kitty.
*sends healing choklit*
I had a dream about a Kokon! It made me happy!
And also we’re selling our chickens today.
Alas, I am being forcibly removed from this computer. I’ll be back in a few minutes.
Hi, La Mort! Long time no read! *pies with welcome back pies*
Heh, I’m only back temporarily, though. Two weeks and one day from now will be the start of CTY for me. And exactly two weeks from now, I’ll be in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. and the day before that, I’ll be driving down to Pennsylvania. But I”ll try to hang around here and post as often as possible in the 13 days left before CTY.
217- Whoa! Hi La Mort! *pies*
I can’t cook. Seriously. I put SIX EGGS in the dish I just made. It didn’t look eggy…
I’m back!
Random: Last night I calculated that I will be 5,000 days old on July 25, 2009.
Nonrandom: Welcome back, La Mort!
Turquoise — I think your 5K day is May 6, 2009. You were born on August 29, 1995, right?
Gah…
It’s like I’m suffering from Post-eCyberMission Withdrawl or something. Ever since we left the CS group last Wednesday (10 days ago) I haven’t wanted to do anything but shut myself up in my room. Like that’s worked. My parents still managed to drag me around D.C. for another week, and now they’re already planning where to drag me each day for the whole freakin’ summer.
I miss it all so much. Especially C. But I even miss A and T, despite the fact that they teased me all week, and, to a lesser degree, CD, CJ, and K. And I miss AD and SI and M too, even though I barely got to know them before we had to leave.
And I haven’t been able to do anything useful with myself, besides get dragged around to who-knows-where. Except for, as I said, shut myself up in my room, cry, and put together photo albums and videos of the trip. I haven’t even felt like eating. I’m just indifferent about everything, and that scares me.
I need to get over it all. It’s over, it’s done with, so I’m stuck with my family for the rest of the summer. Not much is going to change that. Lucky me, huh?
What I miss most is the independance. While we still had schedules and rules and high security and stuff, we could still decide to go swimming on a whim, or go walk by the White House and the Washington Monument at midnight. Now there’s no such thing as independance. My mother insists on planning everything out three months beforehand, and then gets mad at me for being upset that I’m getting dragged places I could care less about. My dad just calls me “Sulky”, and my brother annoys the heck out of me. And the only place I can go is my room, and the only things I can do are use the computer or read. Or look through the photo album I made of the trip for the 50th time. Or watch the video I made of the trip for the 94th time. Or cry.
Yeah. Like that’s going to help.
I wish school had never ended. No, scratch that, I wish the eCyberMission trip had never ended.
I miss…well, everything. Just everything.
-sigh- I’ll shut up now…
(199) Sorry, IBCF! The chess thread seems to have closed itself off for a few hours. I don’t know why, but things on the blog tend to go all wung buttons whenever I moderate from my Treo. Anyway, Muse Chess is back in business now (and for now).
224- I know how you feel. Not right now, but often.
I really want to sit up straight.
226 – Hey, at least that means I’m not entirely crazy.
…
Scratch that. It means we’re both crazy.
*puts thumb in mouth and hugs Xandria*
Stuffed animals must be angels in plush form.
(No offense intended to anybody)
Noooo! Poor Alice’s kitty.
I’m kinda patriotic… I just don’t like where the country is going, so it makes it a bit harder to be patriotic. But I celebrated the Fourth of July like I always do, because we are luckier than others.
And I see a lot of immigration problems- where I live is full of Cubans, (mostly legal immigrants and Americans citizens, though) so it’s a big issue.
I can’t get my trip to downtown outta my head. And my puppy seemed to love it with all them dogs. She’s only been there 4 times. She seems to be depressed right now. I have no idea why.
She also got bitten by a dog that was 3 times smaller than her and she has a little cut. She’s going to the vet soon for her monthly check-up.
227- But we knew that.
I agree with you about stuffed animals. I got rid of a lot of them a while ago, but I still have a ton, some on my bed, some on my other bed, and some sitting in the shop waiting to be washed.
One of my favorites is a huge stuffed tiger. He’s so wonderful to hug.
I think Meerkat is hungry. He’s climbed up on my shoulder and stuck his face in my ear. Or maybe he’s just uncomfortable, but I’m going to feed him anyway.
Poor baby. I wish he’d been left with his mom. Even if it meant he lived on the street, that couldn’t have been worse than this.
228 – What problems does your area see with so many Cuban immigrants? Language barrier? Or what?
230 – Aye.
Most of mine are still downstairs, but most of my favorites have migrated upstairs with me to my new room. I was obsessed with pandas for a few years when I was younger, so I have tons of them floating around. I also have a huge elephant named Ollie, a dog that doesn’t really have a name, and…a bunch of others. I just posted them on the Muser Profile thread.
Is Meerkat the kitten?
I’m hungry.
Sorry if this is a double post. Alice’s post wasn’t up when I posted.
*long complaining post deleted* Suffice to say, I basically feel just like Meow described.
I’m going to clean up. Maybe a clean, fresh house will make me feel better.
And water. Lots of water.
I think eating chocolate was a bad idea. I feel all weird now, like I just drank coffee or something, only less hyper.
Dusting….
Sweeping…
Washing dishes…
it’s funny to think that these things will make me feel better.
233 – Go hug a stuffed animal.
Advice needed: Which is a better name for a country, Kiwi or The Republic of Kiwi?
234- Is it a fictionalized New Zealand?
Wait until no one is home, and then try this:
1. Open the windows. Even if it’s raining. Fresh air will do you good.
2. Put on some lively music. I like Old Blind Dogs, but I don’t know how many other people do. On NO ACCOUNT play something slow, or something that brings back a lot of memories.
3. Sing along. Even if it’s out of tune. it doesn’t matter.
NOTE: Stay away from whatever is bothering you. Don’t go sit in the living room and pet your sick kitten and cry. Don’t go up to your room and lock the door and stare at photo albums. Don’t attempt to cheer yourself up by consuming massive amounts of tea with honey and half-and-half or eating whole jars of Nutella. Stay away from family members.
This works for me. I’m sure other people have different methods, but this has cheered me up, for a while at least.
234- The Republic of Kiwi.
NOTICE:
I will be at camp from sunday to Saturday. I might be here EARLY tomorrow. I’ll be on for the rest of the day, on and off.
235 – No, not really. It’s a seperate country made up of California and Hawaii. I couldn’t think of a name for it, so I went to a random word generator and came up with Kiwi. It’s probably going to change, though.
236 – Yeah, that’s a good idea. Especially the last part. After I posted 224 I went and wrote my Muser Profile, and started world building for this story I’m writing. There’s quite a bit of world building to do, too, so it should keep me occupied for a while.
238- Have fun at camp.
204/201–Yeah, I like living here, but 1) our heritage is zip compared to the civilizations that have been around for thousands of years and 2) we’re pretty arrogant in spite of this. I mean, we kicked out the Native Americans, after infecting them with fatal diseases. Not something to really celebrate. On the other hand, it’s pretty cool to live somewhere where all races can live in (relative) harmony. Also–re#3 on Alice’s post…we do have another name (America) besides just the US. But yes, the United States is a rather lame title.
Yaaaay I’m going to San Francisco for a week, starting tomorrow. It’s pretty much my fave city in the US.
*Sends telepathic healing rays to Alice’s kitty*
239- Which last part? Stay away from family members?
(241) We’re sort of stuck. Canada and Mexico don’t like us to call ourselves America, because geographically both are also part of North America. Meanwhile, Mexico doesn’t like us to call ourselves the United States, because Mexico’s official name is los Estados Unidos de Mexico (the United States of Mexico).
240- Thanks!
I’m happy right now, and I don’t know why. It’s a good feeling.
I feel so weird now. My best friend is visiting and I’m really happy to see him, but on Wednesday he is leaving and I’ll be really sad. He lives in North Carolina and I live in Ohio.
Yesterday he came over with his friend, and we decided to put a bottle rocket inside a bottle upside down. It made the bottle explode and my dad started freaking out. Then his friend tried to throw a bottle rocket but it fell and we thought it was a dud, then we realized it wasn’t and it exploded.
And after that we were cleaning up the glass from the bottle and I cut my finger.
Best 4th of July ever!
242 – The whole “NOTE:” section.
Ahh, lots of posts….I can’t keep up. Eurgh.
I spent all day on our sailboat. I wasn’t sailing though, I was scrubbing.
we got this boat a few years back and still aven’t ben out sailing in it, but this next week I’m going to a lake house that we share with Dad’s siblings so we’ll go sailing then.
However, this boat was filthy, a few years or grime that had accumilated over the years and needed to be washed off.
Thus, I spent the day up to my elbows in soap suds and decaying leaves scrubbing out the grime while being all scrunched up in the tiny crawl space of the cubby up front. Fun.
Anyway, that was my day…….I’m now very tired and my wrists hurt.
127 – Yay, me too!
138 – Welcome back!
145 – I don’t know, but now I have a reason to go back and read that Muse.
“Totes”…haven’t heard it around here, but KY is notoriously behind on slang.
217 – Welcome back!
243 – That reminds me of a song, “I am not an American” by the Arrogant Worms.
How’s the kitty, Alice? Any better?
Meh, I’m not patriotic. Normally I don’t bother celebrating the 4th, but this time my family went to a Weird Al concert, which was awesome.
*Zinc and Leafygreen break out in song*
The GAPAs are
slow posting again.
Much to our
chagrin.
We’ve been posting
for 30 minutes but they
haven’t moderated.
*bows*
*crickets*
I was visiting with some friends yesterday for the 4th. We watched 1776 and saw fireworks off the 16th story of her apartment. It was fun, we were all dressed up in red, white and blue (I wore the skirt I wore to the latest Kokonvention) and had a picnic on the porch because it was raining.
I’ll see you all later, the moderation is really slow, or there’s no one posting. I’m getting tired of just refreshing the page a million times, plus it’s hard to use the computer because of the lack of a address bar in my browser, and IE still has comment box shrinkage. Oh crap, was that all one sentence? Ugh, it was. I’m tired too, can you tell?
*falls asleep*
251: That sounds like fun!
Yesterday
me and my sistermy sister and I went through two packages of sparklers and watched people at the park set of fireworks that were really cool, but probably illegal. Also, we ran back and forth up our street a few times. At ten at night. This may not sound very entertanining to you, but in our boring old city it was like the party of the summer.(“The party of the summer?!” wow… I should get out more…)
231- I probably could have worded that better. There aren’t many problems, just the whole immigration issue is much stronger.
249- You got to see Weird Al? No fair. I’ve only been to one major concert, and I hope I get to see him play someday.
253- Only ten at night? At the last party I was at, we did that at one in the morning.
254- the last time i did something similar, a group of friends and I started walking at about 12:30. then someone declared that she really wanted a lawn chair to sit in the middle of the road, and somehow we suddenly found ourselves sitting in a circle in the middle of an intersection. twas great fun.
Hi… I was gone for a couple hours and about fifty posts show up.
Weird.
My brother just managed to convince my parents to rent The Brave Little Toaster from the video store. Yes. That’s right. The Brave Little Toaster.
-sigh-
257 – I REMEMBER THE ADS FOR THAT MOVIE!!!! I was maybe 4, but I remember that movie!!! It was ridiculously annoying!!!!
I just looked it up. 1987??? I think the ads I saw were for it going onto VHS…
Ah, the old days… when DVDs were nonexistent…
257/258–You have to wonder who came up with that idea. Imagine the sales pitch. “I know! Let’s make a movie about a household appliance!” “Ooookay, buddy, you do that.” POOF instant classic!
Sigh…no fireworks allowed in dry CA. For good reason, tho, last night at the public fireworks display, a grass fire started and like five firetrucks had to go up and put it out. Ick, I hate fire season (although now it’s more like fire year).
Although really no one pays attention to the law. My neighbors get real fireworks from who knows where (probably Nevada or Mexico or something) and shoot them off at the park near my house. They were green and purple this year (go figure).
257 – isn’t that the animated movie with the blue toaster and the yellow electric blanket?
259 – Well, we got it on DVD. And there were some sequels that were made in the 1990s (early or late, I don’t remember which) so maybe that’s what you saw? Or maybe just the DVD version. Yeah.
260 – Well, it was based on a novella. But it’s still a seriously odd concept.
261 – Yeah. And a lamp, and a vacuum, and a radio.
It was certainly the oddest movie I have watched in a while. Mostly amusing, but there were some parts that seriously would have scared a little 5 year old. It was utterly…bizarre.
I also find it funny that all of you people have heard of it.
261 – Yup.
263- *cackles* I don’t remember anything about that movie, except the toaster and the electric blanket
260) Fire year is right…we saw a lot of fireworks coming home from the convention center last night. It was pretty, but I really wish people would realize this is not the best place to do that. Listen to the Governator, c’mon. :/
I had an awesome time at AX but am leaving right away, so goodbye for awhile again! XD
Brave Little TOASTER ???
Oh dear. What is this world coming to.
Oh yeah. It was the Fourth on the fourth, wasn’t it? I kind of forgot.
(267) What, don’t the British celebrate “Good Riddance Day”?
(257) By the way, “The Brave Little Toaster” was written by Thomas Disch, the author of some much harder-edged adult science-fiction.
Went to a wedding yesterday between a buddhist and a catholic. ‘Twas most amusing…
Ugh. My head is so stuffed up from allergies… *sniff* I wanna cut my head off.
BLT was the worst film by Steven Spelberg.
Yup, he was the producer. I think
*Goes check IMDb*
Nope, I was wrong.
~~~
I’m on until tenish.
269- poor kitty. *sends over tissues and tea* try some horseraddish.
I just watched Mr.Magoriums Wonder Emporium
*sigh*
*claps hands*
IT WAS AWESOMELY AWESOME!
268 – That’s odd.
172 – Really? I heard that it wasn’t very good.
272 – I heard it was lame. But I really, really like the actress Natalie Portman. (And not just because she was in Star Wars — oh, who am I kidding?)
I think my problem is that I have nothing to do. I have waaaaay too much down time, and that’s often dedicated to thinking, and that thinking is often about the very things that bother me. Which is not good.
So now I need something to do, which is not good either, because I can’t think of anything.
-googles “How to Stop Being Bored”-
Oh, here are some interesting ideas.
-Write goodbye letters to all the people you have ever known in case you die of boredom
-Practice being a living statue
-Spin around for as long as you can without passing out, and then sit down and close your eyes.
-Make faces in the mirror
-Spin around in a desk chair
-Draw your own cartoon
-Start a fungas form
-Make a really silly video. Then play it backwards.
-Make up a language.
That last one sounds fun. I think I’ll do that.
275 – Hey, those are good ideas! *tries*
Oi! Beavo! Need a ittle help on the RRSSSS! I’ll be gone for 9 days!
Semirandom almost fourth of July related observation-
In the state of Ohio, it is illegal to privately set off fireworks. That’s good, right? Keeps people from blowing themselves up.
Yet, these same fireworks that are illegal to set off are sold in the grocery store. What do they think, we’ll take’em over the border into Pennsylvania to set them off?
Is there anyone on now? Or is moderation just slow at the moment.......Oh well, I wonder if this will actually work and show up in a different font. And green.
The skin on my fingers is peeling off and being all flaky and gross, eww. It's from all that scrubbing on the boat yesterday, I'm definitely feeling it now....ouch.
Anyway, I have to go vacuum the house.....
Hey, it worked!!!! I’m sorry if I annoyed anyone with changing the font on my last post, I won’t do it often, I promise.
And of course you have no reason to doubt me, do you??
278-“In the state of Ohio, it is illegal to privately set off fireworks.”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHA! HA! You’re funny, State of Ohio.
although where do you buy them in ohio? i thought you did have to go to pennsylvania to get them (that’s where megan always gets hers)
Aaaah! I spent the entire day on the internet… My eyes are glued open!
*dies*
282 – Welcome to my world.
I’m bored enough that I’m actually going to post a full “summary” (if a summary is the length of a short novel) of my 12-day trip to Washington DC. Not in this post. I’ll start typing it as soon as I send this one.
281: You know what else is funny? It’s illegal to buy them in Michigan, but not to set them off. And in Ohio I guess it’s illegal to set them off, but not to buy them.
Anywho, I just had a very productive afternoon. I packed my suitcase for vacation, read The Witch of Blackbird Pond, wrote a connection, and typed a reading response. Curse you, summer reading assignment!! At least I’m almost done.
284- So do Michiganders sneak over the border and buy fireworks, then come back and fire them off?
285~ Probably.
Where I live, it’s illegal both to buy and set off fireworks.
That’s what Pennsylvania is for
Cat’s Meow’s “Summary” of her Trip to Washington D.C.
Day 1: Well, first of all, we had to wake up at 5am on a Friday morning. Ickk. My family carpooled to the airport with C (another boy from my school who was going on the trip) and his mom. We got to the airport, and met up with CD, CJ, and K, who were the other boys from C’s team in the math and science competition that we were going to D.C. for. Actually, I think I forgot to mention that, but suffice to say that they were the 8th grade winners for the Northwest Region, and my team was the winning team for 7th grade. And it was seriously cool that we had two teams from one school. Anyways.
One of the Language Arts teacher from our school (our team’s team advisor for this competition) was there too (I’ll call her S), and A and T (my team members) showed up a little while later. So then we got on our plane. And then the plane sat there for an hour because of “technical difficulties”. And we happened to have a 40 minute connection to get onto our second plane at the Seattle Airport. So, after the hour-long flight, we found out that we were going to be stuck there for a while until the next plane that was headed to D.C. showed up. Definition of “a while”: 5 hours.
So we hung out in the airport’s food court area, and played cards and took random pictures and talked for 5 hours. Hurrah. (Actually, it was sort of fun. This was, oddly enough, one of my favorite days of the trip, because we were just hanging out.) And then our plane finally showed up (not before I managed to render my brand new cell phone unusable, though) and we got on the plane. And then we were on that plane for another 5 hours. On the first plane we had been in two rows, like this:
C CD CJ| |K x x (x = random person)
T S .A.| |M x x (M = Meow)
With the boys behind the girls. And that thing in the middle is an aisle. But on the second plane, our seating was a little odder.
Row 11:
T S A| |M K C
Row 29 (Last row on the plane):
x CD CJ| |x x x
So, yeah. I was with K and C, and trying my best to ignore A and T, who were making American Girl Doll videos for the whole plane ride. I amused myself by reading, talking to C and K a little (mostly C; K slept for some of it), and doing Word Search puzzles with C. Speaking of which, it was C’s first time on a plane, so it was really funny to watch him. He, almost literally, had his nose pressed to the window the whole time.
We headed down to the baggage claim to get our stuff (although we weren’t even sure if it had made it onto our new plane in Seattle) and met E, a guy from the eCyberMission competition, and C’s dad. We hadn’t expected C’s dad to be there, and he revealed that he had walked 2 hours from the hotel just to meet us!
We got our bags and went out to meet the shuttle bus that was going to take us to the hotel. It was just us eight and E on the whole shuttle, so we each got our own seat. C took the whole back row, and just laid down. We could see the Washington Monument and stuff from there, and it was really cool.
When we got to our hotel and got out, a photographer showed up and started taking pictures of us! We were all tired and pretty frazzled, but it was still so cool! Believe me, we got quite used to photographers by the end of the week.
Anyways, it was about 11 o’clock at night (D.C. time; it was only about 8 o’clock our time) by this point, and we hadn’t eaten for at least 6 hours. They took us up to the eCyberMission Event Office, gave us sweet purple and black half-backpacks (one strap that goes over your shoulder, and I can’t really describe it much more then that) and room keys and schedules and stuff.
Then they told us that we could have room service, so the boys went to their rooms and the girls (and S) went to S’s room to order pizza. And then I went to my room to meet my roommate for the night (which was a different from my roommate for the rest of the week). Her name was M.
I went back to S’s room, and we ate pizza, and then went to the ice room to get some ice for our drinks. While we were there we happened to notice a room service cart in front of two of the rooms down the hall a little ways. We assumed that those were the boys’ rooms (CD was sharing with C and K was sharing with CJ) and walked over there to see what they had been eating. We started cracking up when we saw the chicken wings, for no real reason, and C and CD appeared at the door to their room in pajamas and with toothbrushes in their mouths.
We started cracking up even more, and running down the hall to get away from them. The funniest thing was that they started chasing us down the hall, in their pajamas. But then E and MI, another of the eCyberMission organizers, stuck their heads out of their respective hotel rooms and asked us if we could pretty please shut up because it was 11 o’clock at night and people were trying to sleep. So we started cracking up again, but quieter, and the boys went back to their rooms, and we went back to our rooms (A and T were staying together) and I finally got M to turn the TV off, and we all went to sleep.
THE END
(Of Day 1)
Gee, I wasn’t kidding when I said this would be a short novel. You have my utmost congratulations if you stayed awake through my explanation of Day 1. But don’t worry: I won’t have nearly that much detail for Day 2. I hope. (Actually I remember quite a lot about all of the days. But the first 6 days are going to be the longest.)
This is getting quite long, (And this is the EDITED version!)and I already feel sorry for the GAPA that has to read it. So I’m going to send it already and start Day 2 in another post.
Oh, yeah. I used to live in Michigan when I was little. I never saw fireworks except for when we went on a trip to Chicago to see our Grandparents during the 4th of July weekend.
Here, on the 4th of July, our city shoots off fireworks. So do the neighboring cities. It’s perfectly legal. A ton of people shoot off fireworks.
Lots of places around here shoot off fireworks, and people do too.
The 4th of July and New Year’s are pretty much the only times you can get away with it, because any other time it’s considered a noise disturbance.
Dairy Queen blizzards are yummy! Go eat them!
I just got payed twenty five dollars for helping my dad work with wires.
For five hours. *collapses*
I just got back from Space Academy! It was AWESOME! I tried to take a picture of myself reading Muse in a replica of a Space Station module, but I didn’t use the flash, so the picture was lost forever. Now I feel like a really bad photographer.
Welcome back, KaiYves! I guess that means we’ll have to give you Moon Pies.
293- *pies with moon pie*
*pies Kai with moon pie*
Beat and I were thinking of a Chicago Kokon between July 20 and August 8 on a weekend.
-adds moon pie to pile-
yeah, since she’s going to be in Chicago and all, we might as well try and have a kokon!
*pies Kai*
290- Where I live, proffesional companies can shoot off fireworks but regualr people can’t.
Notto brag, my city shoots off some of the best fireworks around.I just went outside and played soccer for 2 hours. It felt good. And I almost matched my record at juggling. I got 82, and my record is 83.
Myyounger brother’s record, of course, is 111.
Any response to the call for a Chicago Kokon?
-sigh- I just got back from the 1st Annual Harold and Maude Party, where Eva, Opal, my mom, Eva’s mom, and I all dress up and go watch Harold and Maude. Which is a wonderful movie. -sniffle-
Although I’m not sure the overall message sank in, I just know that I found the majority of it immensely funny.
I can’t believe I haven’t broken down in tears yet.
Hello hello everyone!
Tis a very very happy day! My piano tuner is coming! My tuner is coming! No longer will my piano emit sour notes! Ahh. It always gives me a happy feeling to play piano after our tuner has come. It feels like the wool has been lifted from my eyes! Like my fingers can fly over the keys! Like………..
*moon pie pies KaiYves*
299- My city’s are better. Unless you live in DC or NYC or something.
304- You should see the ones that go off over Lake Michigan…. Magnificent!
Any one can shoot off fireworks in England on Guy Fawkes day… And New Years… and on any other day up until a certain time.
Oh boy. I have quite a task to accomplish.
See, I used to have one e-mail adress that I used for everything. Ironically, it’s still the one I use for MuseBlog, because I haven’t bothered to change it. And then I got a new school e-mail, and I’ve started using that for everything. But e-mails have still been piling up in my old Inbox since last October. And it’s really getting quite full. (486 messages)
So I’m going to clear it all out. And, yes, I’m expecting it to take quite a while.
307 – Good luck!
Hmmm…
A little while ago I heard a loud shriek coming from the backdoor. My cousin was standing there, holding a boot and saying “When I put my foot in, something moved!” Sure enough, when I dropped the boot, there was a strange clicking noise. It turns out, there is a tiny terrified Bat in the toe of the boot.
We’re leaving it alone till nightfall.
Is it a fruit bat? No, a boot bat!
A bat in a boot? Does it bite? You bet. Shall we use it for bait for a bit in the boat? No, Bart…
310 – …okay then…
307- there was this one e-mail I barely used to check. When I finally decided to check it, there was one thousand something e-mails, (most of it was junk) so I just pressed select all, and unselected the ones I wanted. It went pretty fast.
CHICAGO KOKON? SERIOUSLY, GUYS, IF THIS IS GONNA HAPPEN, WE NEED TO START PLANNING.
I just got done downloading a whole bunch of songs. So now my life has no point.
Except muffins, of course. There’s always the muffins.
*bored* *as if you couldn’t tell*
308 – Eh, it wasn’t actually that bad. Most of it was junk forwards and e-mails from my soccer coach, so I e-mailed people telling them to e-mail me at my current e-mail and was done with it.
315 – I hate chain mail.
316 – Yeah, it drives me nuts. Some of it is cute, but the “SEND THIS TO 1,000,000 PEOPLE OR YOUR HEAD WILL BLOW UP!!!!!!!!11!!!!111!” ones get on my nerves.
316- I agree, two of my friends send me at least 50 chain letters a day, it’s so annoying seeing “send this to 10 friends and something special will happen” and “You’ll get 100 dollars in the next 2 hours if you send this to 5 friends” I mean, seriously?
317, 318 –
I know. I’ve gotten several that say
“If you send this to 20 people and press F5 within twenty seconds, you will get good luck for twenty years!!”
319 – Those are the worst.
I can tolerate the ones with cute pictures, or whatever, but the ones that aren’t even cute or funny are just pointless.
I hate chain mail, but the night before I asked Clarissa out, she got one saying that if she forwarded it to ten people she would get asked out by her crush. Scary.
But otherwise, they’re just stupid. I hate the ones that try to scare you into sending them, like naming people and who they got murdered when they didn’t send it…
This is really random, but who else would like a sibling(s) thread?
I hate chain mail too. It’s so annoying and superstitious.
I got like 10 emails saying “I’m sending this to you because you’re my friend, but if you don’t send it back to me and 9285720938 other people then I guess I’m not your friend” or something. I hate them. (the emails, not my friends)
I don’t like the religious ones. Most of the time I don’t think my people actually read them before sending chain mail to you.
I love the Dragonriders of Pern! It’s my new favorite series, pretty much. Except for Harry Potter, and Artemis Fowl, and Stravaganza, and the Tiffany Aching books, and all of Tamora Pierce’s books, and etc.
I’ve only ever got a few chain mail thingies, and one of them was a word game.
Chain mail is really bad. There are some emails that say like “If you don’t send this to 15 people in 30 minutes, _______ will come to your room and kill you” This makes people scared and they send it, but nothing will really happen.
The strangest chain mail i get is from my grandmother, who forwards things without reading them. I open emails up to see some random risque things and am shocked that my grandmother is the one sending them to me.
I hate humidity. It’s horrid and nasty out. The humidity is scattering the light so that i have to squint no matter where I look. And its cloudy so I can’t even wear sunglasses. grrr.
323-i need to have a tamora pierce marathon some night…haven’t read it in ages. oh the memories
Chain mail? Funny, as I read that I just got a note from one of my Dad’s friends that’s all these funny pictures….called “Idiots of the world unite!’. Because of the slow internet connection it didn’t load them all, but it actully looks funny.
Although I threatened that if I don’t send it to all my friends a dog will come an pee on my computer. Hmm, I think not.
320 – Yeah. I agree.
262-I didn’t see the movie, but I read the book. I recall weirdness…
284-I read that last year! Did you like it? I thought it was pretty good.
294-I feel like everyone is doing awesome things this summer: National Spelling Bee, CTY, CTD, Space Academy, eCyber Mission, etc. How do you get to do all of this?
327-Yeah! Tamora Pierce!
My Musery loves Company shirts got here today!! I’ll be wearing the Hare & Hedgepig tomorrow, and hopefully bring both it and the Mostly harmless to the lake when we go…..like I’ll actually see anyone there, since it’s in the middle of nowhere. The cabin is, anyway.
Anyway, I’m happy about that!!
I hate chain mail. Especially the ones that beg you to “Don’t break the chain!”
I always break the chain.
326- Humidity. As if heat alone wasn’t enough.
332- Welcome to the East Coast. I’m moving to Alaska when I grow up.
chain mail’s just dumb. the oldest rick in the book.
I especially hate the ones that trick you into shutting your computer down…
333~ What state are you in?
330 – Yay for CTD!
Ow. Ow. My body hurts. Ow.
2 hours of tennis this morning after sitting in a car/hospital all of the 5th and 6th, then an hour of hockey practice tonight.
Owww.
In other news, I see lightnings wooo. No thunder at all though, even though there’s a flash like every 3 seconds. Kinda freaky in a cool sort of way.
Goodnight all, I’m off to take a bath and fall into bed.
Rebecca, my parents say “Bye for now” and wish you the best.
I got some shirts from Musery Loves Company, and I’m looking forward to wearing some of Lady B.’s fun artwork.
And I really, really, really need to wash my flip-flops before I go to the lake. That was random, I must be really tired……if I had enough time I would write a SSSS, I’m certainly tired enough that things aren’t exactly normal…..but I don’t have time, so I’ll postpone it.
Pies, peace and Hot Pink Bunnies!!!!!
Aw, my kitten is well again. And he eats normal food now…wow, that was fast. It’s only been a little over a week since we got him, and only a few days ago he was being fed with an eye-dropper! Now he’s curled up on my right shoulder meowing at my mom (he doesn’t like my left shoulder at all). I think he’s part Siamese.
339- I left my flip-flops in the country.
I’m going to be Miss Lughnasa at the annual Lughnasa Festival. Rather a silly concept really (Miss Lughnasa), but it should be fun, especially dressing up.
RANDOM DISCONNECTED SENTENCES THAT NO ONE NEEDS TO READ IF THEY DON’T WANT TO:
I feel detached from the current conversation.
I have a hair appointment tomorrow.’
Wise Child is an amazing book (so is Juniper).
I have two weeks of nothingness ahead of me.
END RANDOM SENTENCES.
340 – Yay!!!
Double post. Sorry ’bout that.
Re: Myers-Brigg test (yes, I know it’s a bit of an old topic)
Here are my percentages. I just dug them up.
Your personality type is ENTP.
Extraverted (E) 75% Introverted (I) 25%
Intuitive (N) 55% Sensing (S) 45%
Thinking (T) 60% Feeling (F) 40%
Perceiving (P) 73% Judging (J) 27%
257- Oh, I remember seeing the ads for that while watching… some Disney movie on VHS, circa age 6. I vaguely recall wanting to see it… maybe I will. If I have nothing better to do
340- Yay for kitty!
I have two months of near-nothingness ahead of me. *explodes with nonexistant joy*
I should go to sleep. Nearly 1:00. Sleepy… Yesss sleep is goood.
Typos are badd. Chain mail is bad. Books are good. Humidity is bad. There, I’ve responded to most of the topics discussed recently. I feel accomplished.
The only thing I forgot to mention, methinks.
INTP:
Introverted (I) 93% Extraverted (E) 7%
Intuitive (N) 55% Sensing (S) 45%
Thinking (T) 75% Feeling (F) 25%
Perceiving (P) 82% Judging (J) 18%
That was interesting. I’m not really surprised at all with the results, though.
Sleep shall ensue now.
So……pretty much….I’m at my friend’s house, and she has another friend over, and I’ve been kicked out or the room where they’re talking, so I’m hanging out w/ her brother, EagleEye (for those of you who remember him), and writing this…anyone on? Maybe my West-Coasters?
Hello, Shadowkat! I’m sorry that I wasn’t around to greet you last night. How are you doing?
Shadowkat’s back (again)! YAY! *pies*
I’m pretty sure I’m a little more introverted (I have no idea why) than extroverted. It’s a bit odd, I always thought myself more extroverted…
309) Awwwww. Poor mister bat! One time, we had one roosting behind a poll on our porch. It freaked everyone out for about a week because no one could figure out where or what it was, since it kept squeeking eerily.
323) Oooooooo, you like Stravaganza too? Erg. It’s really annoying because I read the second one without knowing which one it was. (though I was hopelessly confused throughout the whole beginning) How, I can’t find any of the other books. In fact, everywhere I’ve gone, all I can find is the second one. And then, if I can find more of them, they’re in hardback. (way too expensive. eep.
)Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
340) Yay kitten! Meow. Meow!
345) Hey! That’s not fair! Bad friend! besides, you shouldn’t be up now anyway! Tisk tisk!
Welcome back!
(340) Two weeks of near-nothingness with a healthy kitten sitting on my shoulder sounds like Heaven to me. Congratulations, Alice!
345-Hi Shadowkat!!!
AD! TAKE ME! TAKE ME!
Hello everyone! I have a lot of time and creativity on my hands and I would like to somehow use it! Is there by chance any other RRR that needs a fresh writer? Alchemy is kind of slow right now and Searoc’s editing, so……. I’m ready to buckle down and write!
345~ Hey Shadowkat! It’s good to see you again, I’ve been thinking abut you lately. (Oh, and yes I remember EagleEye, he came to the Kokonvention last year. It’s not that nice of your friend to kick you out of the room though, humph.)
*tries to think up something original to say* *fails* I’ll come back to that later….
324 – Yeah, word games are fun. But most are pretty pointless.
327 – Ooh, me too. I should really get them all from the library again.
330 – Well, I can only speak for myself, but my school just happened to be really lucky that we had 2 teams win eCyberMission and get to go to Nationals. We’re a project based school, so it kinda makes sense, I guess. That doesn’t really answer your question, does it?
340 – YAY! KITTEN!
I feel mildly detached from about half the conversations, but luckily there are enough going on that I can still be involved in several.
I read Wise Child a while ago, and liked it. And then I started Juniper, and lost the book or something, so I never finished it.
I do too. And I’m going to be really bored.
RE: Myers-Brigg
I’m pretty sure that I’m INFP.
350- He eats so much now! That was probably part of his problem, actually. There was no way in a million years we could have fed him as much food as he needed with our little eyedropper.
352- Terraformed, Etheterre, SMAS-TT…
Now I have a hair appointment, so I have to go…
145 – You’re right, Gautier is in the Mona Lisa Muse! I forgot all about that, thanks for the reminder *gives 20 pie points*. Incidentally, the stories mentioned in the article are two of the ones that I read. It’s amazing how many seemingly random interests I develop can be traced back to Muse eventually. ^.^
251 – My friend watches 1776 on the 4th, too!
254 – That was my first major concert….I definitely want to try to go to more now! Except major bands don’t come to my insignificant city very often. :p
262 – It sounds so weird I kind of want to go see it now.
269 – *anti-allergy pies*
I don’t know if private fireworks are illegal in KY; if they are, they must not enforce the law at all because a ton of them were going off.
293 – *moon pie*
319 – Gah, I’ve gotten so tired of those. Most of my e-mail is just chain mail these days.
345 – *hello pies*
Aaaaaaah college search time!!! *panics* I guess I always vaguely knew this was coming, but it seemed like high school would go on forever. I do still have a year, but I can’t believe that’s all. I have no idea where I want to go or what I want to do after graduation. I wish Miskatonic University were real so I could just go there! On the bright side, though, college visits might mean Kokon time depending on which campuses I end up visiting *crosses fingers hopefully*.
340- Awesome! Kitty’s alive! Everyone’s happy!
I’m happy for no real reason right now! I had baked beans for lunch with a side of grilled cheese. I am crazy today. Anybody else crazy?
I GOT BRACES.
So, anyway, I went and took that Myers-Brigg test and got INFJ.
They repeated a lot of questions and I still have braces.
I don’t like braces.
357 – Umph. That sounds yummy.
356 – Wait, how old are you?
330- For Space Academy, your parents have to send in an application and a few thousand dollars six months beforehand.
357~ I’m always crazy.
Oh, I forgot to say, I’m so relieved that the Alice’s kitty is all right!! I hope he stays in good health, he sounds like a sweetie. *virtual kitty hugs*
330 – You have to send in an application, get a certain score on the SAT/ACT, write a 250-word essay explaining why you want to go to CTD ( I just did a bulleted list), and pay $3000.
358 – I’M GETTING MINE OUT IN TWO AND A HALF MONTHS!!! *rubs in face*
340- Alice, your kitten sounds amazing!!!! I like the virtual hugs idea…I hope he stays well and happy!
357- lol I’m crazy, or so I like to claim. Many people agree.
Everyone’s crazy and nobody knows it. (Paradox!)
358- Heh who does like braces? They will be exceedingly strange and annoying for a week, then they’ll just be bothersome, then you won’t even remember you have them. Much fun, they are. I got mine in 3rd grade, got them off and got a retainer, got them on again, and just got them back off finally in March (9th grade.) Apparently I have to wear a retainer until I stop growing though…
Good luck with yours, don’t chew on pens/pencils!
Ok, random…who likes Scrabble? I love Scrabble beyond belief, despite the fact that my mom often gets two seven letter words in one game. But one time I got three seven letter words in one game, and she got one. That was a WEIRD game, our second game of the night, and it ended at one in the morning XD…final score was 310 to 403. Scrabble is totally Random Cool Stuff.
364 – Are you new? *pies*
365- No. At least, some reputable MBer deigned that I was no longer a neophyte. I am guilty of forgetting who that was, apologies…
I just don’t end up with much time for MuseBlog (which is a terrible thing), so I don’t think many people know me.
*pies back* What kind of pie is this which sits upon me in delicious pastry-ish globs?
To change the subject, it just started pouring! I love rain…*sits at window staring at and listening to rain*
366 – Ah. I like rain!
Random double post, but…
I’m thinking of making a Muse Monopoly!
358 – Don’t worry. They get better after a few days.
Until they get tightened, like mine did yesterday. Mmph.
364 – Yeah, Scrabble is kewl.
366 – I didn’t know you…but I know you know! I’m Cat’s Meow/Meow. Welcome (back) to MuseBlog!
368 – Cool!
I’m feeling excesively perky lately. -shudders-
369 – It’s already in the works.
356- Good luck with your search!
Alice’s kitty is better! *throws confetti*
366- I love rain also.
370 – Post it when you’re done.
And I’ll be happy to provide assistance if you need any.
I’m apparently ENFJ, but I diddn’t know what a lot of the words ment.
369-
Thank you for now knowing me! And for liking Scrabble.
What is this ENFJ/INFJ stuffs?
374 – It’s the Myers-Brigg test. Google it.
Scrabble’s neat, but nobody will play it with me at home.
374 – It’s the results from this personality test thing that we took, called the Myers-Briggs test. It identifies key traits in your personality. Or something like that.
374- I think I know you fomr before…..
Humidity update: My salt shaker no longer works.
377 – Ick…that’s serious humidity.
377 –
Woah.
364- I love Scrabble! Oh, and yes, I remember you well. We had a conversation about Edward Eager and you thought he was made up.
377~ We don’t use salt shakers anymore, they kept getting clogged. Now we use a little bowl with salt in it and we just pinch what we need. This works fine, right? Yes, until the other day I found a PUDDLE in the bowl. A PUDDLE, for goodnesses sake, and that was no water added.
That, my friends, is what I call humidity. *melts in a boiling puddle on the floor*
Double post, but what do you guys think should be the properties for Muse-Opoly?
Boardwalk = Kokonino Desert
Park Place = Muse Academy (or Muse headquarters, I dunno yet)
382 – Boardwalk should be MA. Park Place should be Muse HQ.
Other ideas:
-HPB land
-Peaceful Pie Planet
-Museica
-Something from the RRRs (Sphaere, North American Confederacy, an asteroid from TerraFORMED, etc)
-Photoshop
-Kokonino Desert, like you said
marvin gardens should be mervin gerdens. i always call it that when i play
383- The utilities could be Photoshop and Paint, or something.
I got my hair cut. Now it’s all soft and swishy and layered. And parted at the side again. Last year I got into the habit of parting it at the side and then sort of stopped. It’s been a year since my last haircut, wow.
385 – Oh, that’s a good idea! And what about Random Thread/Chameleon Thread/Neophytes Thread/Birthday Thread for the railroads?
It’s been several years since my last hair cut. My mom just trims it every once in a while to even it up.
383, 385 – Good ideas, guys!!!! But I still think that Boardwalk should be Kokonino County.
384 – You started that when you mispronounced it. I caught the error, and it’s been tradition since then.
Here are the pieces:
All nine Muses
Devil
An HPB
Is eleven too many?
387 – Oh, wait. I agree with that. I was confused when you said Kokonino Desert.
!!!
HPB HQ can be the jail!
388 – YES!!!
ALICE, it’s 8:00!!! *hint hint* *cough* Sorry, GAPAs.
390 (Kokonilly): Very subtle…
391 – I know.
That’s what we thought. Don’t push your luck.
393 – Yes, O Mighty GAPA! *bows*
368-Cool Idea!
380-Edward Eager? Made Up? But if he was made up, how could he have written all those WONDERFUL Books?
I just watched Young Frankenstein! So funny!
377- Whoa. Now that’s humid.
387- Chad’s workshop should be something. (I don’t know the Monopoly properties very well) And maybe Dog Counter/Cat Counter as Chance/Community Chest?
396 – Good idea. *writes down*
So I just watched Little Miss Sunshine. Good movie, I recommend it (rating of R for language but nothing more than you hear in middle school hallways, so…).
Also I think it gave me a bit of a crush on Dwayne. Will probably ware off in a few days. Poor kid, though.
-390 Slick.
398- Ohmigosh! I love that movie.
Especially…well, I won’t go into it, but it’s hilarious.
377- Try putting a pinch of uncooked rice in with the salt in the shaker. I don’t know why this works, but it does.
I went canoeing yesterday. My shoulders hurt…
364) Oooooooooh! I lurve Scrabble! I can almost always beat everyone I know (almost) except the computer, but who can beat the computer anyway?
401) It works because the rice sucks up the water in the air like a sponge.
375- Aw, that’s unfortunate. My mom begs me to play Scrabble XD and my dad just laughs at us. He plays sometimes, though.
375/376- Ah, will do.
377- Yay! Lol worse humidity than Florida? Or maybe you’re in Florida…
380- w00t so many Scrabble players!! Yay, I remember that too! I don’t remember why I thought he was made up though…I hope it wasn’t as silly as it seems now…:D
I love all the Museopoly ideas! That would be so cool, I would totally buy it. XD I used to play Pokemon Monopoly…
407 – My science teacher has an Animalopoly and a SCUBAopoly. It’s cool.
GAPAs, I sent you an image and a discription that I think should be posted. Or, rather, shouldn’t be posted, but must be for the good of mankind.
407, 408 – I never knew about those versions! Neat!
409 – Yeah, there’s about a million of them.
410 – I once saw a Lost Monopoly.
I know! There are so many versions, it’s ridiculous!
412 – One I really dislike is “Electronic Banking Monopoly”. I mean, what’s the fun when you can’t throw money at people, only a credit card?
413 – I KNOW! That’s no fun at all.
358 – Ouch. I’ve never had braces, but if it’s any consolation, my friends who have had them insist that they’re fun after you get used to them.
360 – I’m 17, so I still have my senior year to go, but apparently I was supposed to start thinking about college junior year, so now I really have to get to work. o.O
364 – Scrabble is awesome!!!! I played Latin Scrabble once; one person got 64 points just from a four letter word! I guess that’s what happens when you play in a language with plenty of “qu-” words.
366 – I like rain too; I actually prefer it to sunny weather. I don’t think I knew you, so *hello pies*!
368 – Post pictures when it’s done!
377 – 8) Whoa, and I thought the humidity here was bad!
414 – Exactly. It’s realistic, ergo it’s boring.
415 – Your friends are crazy. Braces aren’t fun. Mine hurt, even now. And o.0. You’re old. And, actually, Meow’s making the board. We’re collaborating.
407-10
me and my sister and a couple friends are making Warriors monopoply. as in the cat book series. it is for a birthday present.
my mom also has a university of oregon “duckopoly”
417 – A birthday present??? For WHO???
I mean for whom. Sorry for the double post.
Triple post, sorry, but why can’t I post on The Kokonspiracy thread?
Quadruple post! So sorry! But I can post now.
(421) Maybe you tried the wrong one? The most recent is https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1267
Robert-That’s alright! I didn’t really expect it to be moderated, since all the GAPA’s live either on the East Coast of in England. But, I’m ok, just busy with classes and stuff…how are you?
To everyone else who answered post #345–Thanks, guys, but I don’t know if “back” is the bets way to put it…I’m just dropping in, I think. And, yes, it wasn’t very good of her to kick me out, but I had this huge important discussion with EagleEye as a result, so it’s all good-ish.
I think your post did get moderated overnight. (Rosanne lives in California.) Anyway, it’s glad to hear that you’re fine. All is well with me and here at Science.
I just started reading the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy It’s pretty funny, I’ll probably have it done in the next few days….oh well. I wish it would last the whole week at the lake, but I doubt that that will be so. Anyway, it’s great. Than;s for the recommendation. *cough, threats, cough*
Today was the torturous ordeal of swimsuit shopping. with my Dad. *horror* I finally ended up with a swimsuit that I won’t want to kill, or at least the urge will be controllable. *sigh* I simply hate wearing a swimsuit.
More good news though, I got What’s the Rumpus? at Borders, and I’m importing it to iTunes now, joy!! Now we’ll have to see what gets kicked off the iPod to make room for the new……bummer. I’m already pared down the my favorites, I don’t want to take anything off, blasted storage space limit…..I wish I had a faster internet connection at HOME so I could get the new version of iTunes, and then use my new iPod that has more space…..space, yess, space is good.
Okay, I’m sorry about all that, I’m really tired for some reason…..*groans, falls asleep*
Why is iTunes being so darned slow importing my new CD???? I wanna HEAR IT!!!!!!
I saw a “Lost” the Game.
Someone wrote a ‘you’ on the box in front.
*waits, grinning, for comprehension*
427 –
Greeting Musites!
I like the Popsicle box. What flavor do you suppose Chad is?
429 – Hi! Haven’t seen you in a while.
427 –
I lose.
429 – Grape. Or blackberry. Or huckleberry.
I think Urania is Lemon/Lime!
426- I hate swimsuits too. They make me all self-conscious.
427-
431- -remembers the Game- -ignores-
433~ ANOTHER similarity!! If your swimsuit is a light purple halter tankini with teal bottoms, I’ll really be freaked out.
I’m eating lima beans right now. Eww. I like lima beans but these got stuck in the freezer that doesn’t freeze things, so they got all dried out and taste a bit worse than cardboard. The soysauce doesn’t help as much as I though it would, either. (Yes, witness my nonexistent cooking skills….)
Hey, I’ll be leaving to go to a lake cabin tomorrow, probably in the morning. I’m bringing the computer, but only to watch movies on, I seriously doubt that there’ll be any internet where I’m going (in the middle of nowhere in Garret County, MD.) so I’ll not be on the blog for a week unless I find a library.
Love ya all! (I may post a little more on other threads for the next few minutes, but then I’m gone.)
Oh, I was so busy being confused and feeling left out that I totally forgot to post about my NEW BIKE!!!
Actually it’s an old bike, from the ’50s or ’60s, and it’s been laying around in our basement for ages, but I got it fixed today. It was my grandma’s. It’s blue, with a thin frame, skinny wheels, silver fenders, and a great deal of dust and rust. It only has three speeds which are very hard to shift in and out of, and the brakes squeal and are slow to react, but I love it. ♥
It really isn’t a very smooth bike, sort of squeaky and wobbly, but it’s really gorgeous.
And I have a shiny helmet. I wanted to get a blue one, but they all had flowers, so I got a silver one.
435 – Wow, that sounds really nice, Alice!
Nice bike, Alice!
new thread?
Alice- That sounds great! Bikes are flamablamablous.
434 – HEY! That’s MY swimsuit!
435~ Sounds great!! Old? *scoffs* you seem to forget that my “new” bike is from the late 30s.
It’s different though, mine doesn’t have gears, and it’s a balloon tire. So we have the old bikes similarity, but the bikes are different….yours sounds nice though…..fenders are good, they let you ride in the rain and not get a muddy stripe down your back.
Unrelated incident:
My mother and I have the same general taste in shoes and have two pairs of shoes that are exactly the same, except for sizes. Just a few moments ago Mom came in the house and tripped over a pair of plaid Rocket Dog shoes. She then tells me off, saying that right by the door is a bad place to put shoes, etc. Sitting innocently by the computer, (wearing my plaid Rocket Dog shoes, I might add) I heartily agreed with her, and raised my foot so she could admire my shoes. A groan issued from deep inside her and we both cracked up.
Anyway, this is my last post for the week, see post 434 for the reason. See ya, love ya, bye!!
440- Wow. We really need to get together sometime… And bicycle around the neighborhood on our old bikes.
Bye!
I just made honors!!!!!!!!
*pies myself out of happiness!*
Math, I mean…
. . Algebra 1 honors!!! .
442, 443 – Good for you! What grade are you in?
405- Perfect! But will the money be muse-themed bills, or something more creative?
407- I am in Florida. And that’s still worse.
427-
435- Old things always seem better looking, don’t they?
440-
Great story! I’m still laughing!
445 – I was thinking pies.
401- probably because the rice absorbs the water….
443- Congrats!
445- I’m not in Florida. Today was a pretty good day. It rained and I can tell where my sweat ends and the air begins
390-I’m missing something, aren’t I?
Mmm. Yeah, I have nothing to post. Sorry, PoPo. *five pounds of choklit*
448 – Aah, just ignore it.
Gooooooooooooooooooooooood morning everyone! Such a loverly loverly day!
Alas, this beautiful day is dampened by myself being infected with *shudder* poison ivy. Sadly, I was weeding 2 days ago and didn’t wear gloves. (well hey, I don’t like gloves, they’re so annoying!) Well, anyway, I woke up yesterday and felt a small, itchy spot near my nose. I had a bad feeling, but I told myself it was nothing. (you see, sometimes, it works. I have poison ivy, but I tell myself that I don’t have it, so I don’t scratch it, and, therefore, I don’t itch, leaving it to fade away.) Unfortunately, my sister had to get all bossy and say,
“Hey, you have poison ivy on your nose!”
“Do not!” I say “It doesn’t itch!”
“Yeah right!” she retorts. “You’re just in denile!”
“Am not!” I say desperately.
(oh no! She’s ruining my plan!)
But it was too late, I couldn’t convince myself otherwise anymore. Just thinking about the possibility of it being poison ivy made my nose prickle.
Anyway, by the end of the day, practically my whole face was red and blotchy. *sigh* *resists urge to poke my nose*
No! No! Will not poke!
(wait, wait, it’s just a poke, it won’t spread it that bad)
No! No! Must RESIST! Go away bad conscious! You’re doing this deliberately!
430- I know. I’ve been away for a really long time. My summer has been waay too busy. I have to get up at 5:30 in the morning to go to swim practice, and after that all I do is sleep and write. Not much fun if you ask me, but my novels are going well!
431-I like to think of Chad as more of a huckleberry-grape mixture.
450-Aww. I hope your poison ivy goes away fast!
Oh!!! I’m really excited because I just found out that I’m going to get a job teaching taekwondo, and by the end of the year my friend and I are taking over SWAT and DELTA which is the training program for new instructors. Woooooo!!!!
The ATA is about to officially own my life. It already owns about half of it, but when I’m getting paid the other half will get owned too.
433 – Aww. You’re no fun.
-loses again-
435 – That sounds a lot like my bike.
Except for maybe the silver fenders; I don’t remember about that.
450 – That stinks. I’ve never had poison ivy before, and I don’t plan to get it. -knock on wood-
Ow. Ow. Ow.
Yesterday I went riding around for hours and hours. It was a beautiful sunny day, and I was wearing a sleeveless shirt.
When I got home, I noticed my shoulders were a little pink. Oh well, it was only a small sunburn and it didn’t hurt even when the kitten clawed me.
Then I went over to Eva’s, taking pains to avoid exposing my arms further.
And by the time we settled down to watch a movie they hurt a lot. And guys, coconut oil doesn’t help, although it does smell lovely and probably made my skin very soft.
So then I got cold and put a sweater on, exposing my sunburned arms to wool, which didn’t help. And it’s a little better today, but it was very painful.
ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN. OR AT LEAST A T-SHIRT. IT HURTS.
450-Ouchies. I reeeealy HATE poison ivy, so hard not to scratch…
454-I sunburn easily. Not very fun at all. Poor Alice.
454-cocoa butter. my mom got burned like all over when she was a baby (my uncle set a wastebasket on fire. he was like four at the time) and she said grandma put cocoa butter all over her for years and it helped. that’s what she did last time i got a bad sunburn, which was like sixth grade (i don’t burn much. mostly because i stay inside. pale geeks ftw!)
(454) Aloe works best for me.
446- Weird, so was I.
454- Try Aloe Vera. I’ve had my share of sunburns, and Aloe works pretty well. (And it may work for you too kiwimuncher, I’m not sure, but it’s worth a try.)
There are random yard-work-people in my backyard. My dog is driving me crazy barking his head off. And I have nothing to do. Oh, now my dog’s begging for me to scratch him. And since I can’t scratch and type at the same time, I guess I’m done. *stops typing and scratches dog*
Whoa, posts 455-457 weren’t there a minute ago. Weird.
454- I’m in the same situation as you D:
Outside for ~3 hours yesterday for tennis in bright sun with no screen at all. Owwwwowowwwoww. Another 3 hours today, and while I wore spf 50 I may have sweated it off (waterproof? ha).
Mom has some pretty good lotion I’ve been applying liberally (it’s more of an ointment, really, it’s good). I also break open aloe leaves and put them on the worst bits in between lotion application.
And more tennis at 6 woo. My legs are tired. I should go do push-ups/sit-ups and get myself in shape. It is raining. I love rain. But where were these clouds this morning?
An odd effect the sunburn seemed to have when I came home was, after making me all tingly all over for a bit (verrrrry odd), I got really cold. Yay fleece blankets.
Hmmmmmm, that reminds me of this summer. Part of our vacation invovled the beach and I got slightly sunburned. One of the places where I got sunburned was around my face. In fact, my whole face was red, except, strangely, around my eyes, where my glasses were. (not sunglasses either) I looked like a red coon for several weeks after ward.
I really want it to rain tonight, for my soccer game. It’ll be extraordinarily hot, otherwise…
460- Same thing. Tennis. I have a tournament tomorrow, that lasts 4 hours, practice is 3 hours (every day of the week except tournament days and weekends) and today, we ran at least a mile for punishment because some people didn’t help clean up. EVERYONE had to run, after that we did suicides, and I drank all my water before we ran
my coaches are so mean. And than there’s this one kid who just got to sit and watch us saying “bye” as we ran by, because she had to leave early, though she was there for the first 5 minutes teasing us. *groans* when I got home (and this was from 9am till 12 pm.) I felt like I was about to pass out ’cause I was seeing black splotches. Turns out I never got to sleep because I had to clean. I have to get into shape!
I HATE sunscreen. I hate it. The only thing I hate worse is sunburn and then the creamish stuff you have to put on afterwards.
Mercy just got spayed. So now she’s all tired.
444: seventh
463 – Geez! You do more conditioning then I do, and I play soccer!
440-Bye!
443-Yay!
454-Ow!
464- Me too. It’s all greasy and white and icky.
460- Yeah, I was cold today too, while Opal and Eva wandered around in short sleeves and I burrowed deeper into my mom’s shawl. But that was probably just the wind.
RE: Aloe: I don’t think we have any, but St John’s Wort oil works really well for me so I put some of that on earlier. it hurts again though.
Our cat Willy is missing.
Aloe is definitely best for burns of any kind. We have an aloe plant and, thankfully, we don’t have to use it very often. But when we do, it’s great!
Alice- I hope you find Willy! *sends good searching vibes*
New Thread? we’ve got 470 posts!
-464 I sympathize.
-460 You’re so lucky. Us here in Oregon are getting ROASTED right now. See you at the BBQ.
-450 Poison Ivy? *shuddders* ‘Tis an invention of the devil’s apprentice. Which is my cat, by the way. I only have poison oak where I am.
(471) We do three random threads a month, regardless of how many comments. We’ll get a new one started sometime tomorrow.
Trust me, ZVX, Oregon is not getting roasted nearly as bad as Eastern Washington.
We are getting literally roasted.
A huge amount of the area has been subjected to mandatory evacuations for fire. My soccer scrimmage got canceled half way through because the other team had to go home so that they knew their houses weren’t burning. Some of my friends from school are on the very edge of the evacuation zone, and one of my brother’s soccer teammates has his house right in the path of the fire.
There’s an eerie glow over the hills, and the TV just said that over 1000 acres are on fire. It’s so…creepy…
That does sound threatening. Keep us informed, please.
473) Oh NO! I hope you’re OK! Let’s just hope that it doesn’t spread much more!
463- Yeah, thankfully our camp isn’t that bad since it’s just for our high school team and we haven’t technically started the season yet, it’s just an intramural technically.
But from August 3 – 7th I’m going tot a sleep away tennis camp at U of I. Whee! But I really have to get in shape for that… started doing 20 push-ups/50 sit-ups a day but I don’t think it’s going to do much >.<
*sigh* Okay, guys. Yesterday I had an appointment, right? So I went there. The doctor had just come in when we NEEDED TO GO INTO THE HALLWAY; THERE WAS A SEVERE T-STORM WARNING. So we waited… and waited… then: STAY THERE FOR A BIT LONGER. THERE IS A TORNADO WARNING. So we stayed there for another hour and went back. Fine.
Then, I got home, arms aching, and THE INTERNET WAS OUT.
After 10 minutes, it was back on. After 2 hours, it went out again and remained so for the rest of the night.
Half of MARFwarrior’s front tree got ripped down by that storm.
475 – I, personally, am fine. It wasn’t anywhere near my house. One of my brother’s soccer teammates had his house right in the path of the fire. I just got up; so I don’t know what the status on their house is yet. But at least 13 houses in the area have been confirmed burned.
I don’t know a lot of people who live in the evacuation area, because most of my friends from school are outside it. But C’s family is just outside it, and was potentially in the next set of evacuations. My mom called them at about 9pm last night to tell tham that if they got evacuated they were welcome to come to our house, no matter the time. That didn’t happen, but it would have been chaotic: They have 5 kids, and at least 2 more kids were spending the night.
C’s mom said he was pretty freaked about the fire when he got home from soccer practice. Who wouldn’t be? After all, you could see huge amounts of smoke from the soccer complex we were practicing at. We could even see a plane dropping water on the fire – and, honestly, it didn’t seem to help that much.
Oh, wow. I just looked at the evacuation map online and it looks like it might have been expanded more overnight.
Anyways, the fire has burned over 1,200 acres so far. And I believe it is still going…
My, either moderation is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaally slow right now or nobody’s on.
Double post, sorry.
My dad took me to see WALL-E a few days ago. It wasn’t too bad, but I hated how they portrayed the humans. They portrayed us as, in 700 years: people who can’t even walk, so they have to go everywhere on their hover-chairs; they can only talk to people who are even only two feet away on video screens; they can’t chew, so they need to get everything in slushie-like drinks; and they know nothing about the planet they came from. SERIOUSLY, PEOPLE. In 700 years, we will probably have blown the Earth up or saved it.
479 – I’m not sure. I think it’s a combination of the two.
478 – Oh no! That’s awful!
Part of the evacuation area was told that they can go home.
That’s good, but much of the rest of the area is still evacuated.
426 – Ack, swimsuit shopping is the worst. I’m beginning to think there is no such thing as a swimsuit that actually looks good on a non-model person.
427 –
433 – Aaah! Just when I thought I was free….I lose too.
435 – Sweet bike!
443 – Congrats! *pies*
450 – Agh, not fun. Try some anti-itch cream – that always makes mine quiet down for awhile.
454 – Ouch, sunburn! People with darker skin are so lucky; I get sunburned just walking down the street on particularly bright days. :p
473 – Yikes! Hope everybody’s okay.
471- -basks in cool wind- -gloats- Move to the coast, ZVX. It’s nice and cool here.
473-
That’s scary… Eastern Washington is too dry.
Wow. -wanders off in terrified daze- It’s La Niña! It’s supposed to be cold!
485- Now I’VE remembered again…
Argh. Curse the inventor of the Game.
477- Aw, that’s not so bad. We get at least two severe thunderstorm warnings a week.
478- Oooh, that seems bad. At least you’re outside the evac zone.
473-They set the house next to mine on fire on purpose because they were going to build a Synogauge there (sorry about the spelling…:oops:You’d think someone with a mostly Jewish family could spell that.) and the glow was really eerie. I see what you mean by “It was creepy”. That’s awful though!
Yeah, so my life is pretty boring right now, so I’m just going to click submit instead of rambling about something random.
Supposedly when our house burnt down my dad could see it from across the river, like, miles away.
I didn’t get to see it from far away. So not fair.
486-Argh! You just made me lose too!
478) Well that’s good. I hope you don’t have to be evacuated!
*sends some of NCs rain*
Oh my! I have the coolest dad! He LOVES to cook and experiment with his cooking! He’s so funny because his cooking goes in waves! He’ll find one dish that he wants to make and he repeats it over and over again, tweeking the recipe each time to make it just perfect. Well, right now, he’s on a pudding/custard wave. OMG! IT’S SO GOOD! He’s never been on a dessert wave before, unless you count his scone wave, which is more of a dessert thing. Except his cinnamon ones. Those were good. And he made this really good drizzle to put over them. *drools*
Oh. Oops.
I meant that the scones were more of a breakfast thing, I just had too many desserts on my mind…….
480- I personally liked the irony of the way humans were portrayed. And in the movie, we did, effectively, destroy it. It was only because we’d left that things got back under control, once we were gone.
482- Mmmmenvy.
I have started a spiriling chain of losing!
Yes!
XD
Which reminds me of a poem from someone’s signiture on xkcd…
I would say don’t read this but if you’ve gotten this far in my post you’ve probably lost, but if you haven’t and don’t want to, then STOP
“There’s a meme of some internet fame
which incites much resentment and blame
but I’ll take no excuse
for your verbal abuse
when you realize you’ve just lost–“
491 – Scones! *also drools*
493 – Nice rhyme. Although it did just make me lose, yet again.
483 – Yeah, it way too dry right now. It wasn’t helped by the fact that there were 55 – 75 mph winds yesterday. 75 mph is hurricane speed.
486, 490 – I lose.
493 – That poem rocks!
495- :O 75 miles an hour???? Geez. Your area is getting hammered.
493- Nice rhyme! But what are we losing?
THE INTERNET’S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After 8 hours, I have my preciousssssssss back!!!
But now we have a tornado watch in our area.
496- -loses again-
You don’t even wanna know. In fact, I’m going to do you a public service and not tell you the rules. If only Emma had had such pity on us last summer…
Wait. Did I just say I’d “do you a public service”?
That’s bad.
496 – No kidding.
Besides, the 55 mile per hour wind didn’t exactly make our soccer game great. xP
496 (again) – ‘Cuz that’s what the game is.
And, because I know someone is going to ask, here are The Rules for The Game:
1. Congratulations! You are now playing the game, if you weren’t already.
2. You are always playing the game.
3. You cannot win. You can only lose.
4. Whenever you remember the game, you have to announce out loud “I lose”.
5. After you lose, you have 30 minutes during which you can remember the game without losing.
6. As soon as you mention the game to anyone, they begin playing as well.
7. The goal of the game is to have everyone on Earth playing.
*loses* Dangit!
500 – You have it worse than we do. Much, much worse.
It’s raaaaining…
Needless to say, I don’t like the rain.
502 – My area would be overjoyed to take your rain from you. Seriously.
The fire is currently about 10% contained, but there’s still a large area that’s burning. No more houses have been confirmed to be burnt besides the 13 that I mentioned earlier, but there are at least 10 that have suffered “significant heat damage”.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning for my area.
504 – We’ll take your rain too. But you can keep the lightning.
I lose.
I’m trying to further write in my diary about the D.C. trip, but I keep getting utterly distracted.
