Under Construction
MuseBlog is being overhauled so that various components will work nicely together and not explode into a chrono-synclastic infundibulum or something. As a result, things may look odd around here for a while. We regret the inconvenience.

To the last post on the previous thread, Cat’s Meow:
505 – You can have it. It’s pouring. And take the lightning, too.
I lose, too.
Thanks GAPAs!
Although, where did the MuseSicles go?
It’s still hotter that blazes here.
Oh, and I love the picture! It’s so pretty…
THIRD POST!
Oh please, take the rain away from here. It’s no longer welcome. *turns back on the rain*
I love the picture!
2 – Count your blessings. It’s literally blazing here.
Oh! I found two that are the same!
3 actually
Theoretically, there would eventually be/has been a snowflake that looks like Koko, or close…
1- I would gladly take your lightning but I think I’d get maimed for doing so, we had a ton yesterday. They stole our electricity several times those silly things. Including today when there weren’t any storms which was rather odd actually
4 – Ahem, I think not…
Meow, will you accept our rain?
(6) Well, that particular snowflake is not exactly typical. In fact, there are four, but the other one was cropped out. If you click on the image you can see a larger, uncropped version.
I don’t think any two of the snowflakes are identical, but they all look strangely familiar.
I just saw the other Muses in the enlarged version!

Heehee. I also like how the Mimi one’s are holding hands… fitting.
Koko-flakes? Must look into that…
Meow, I bestow upon you the rain of the Great Lakes. Do with it what you will. Just, please, don’t send it back here. Also, no lighting. We already had our power out for a week in that first terrible staorm, and a tree nearly crushed our house. Now I hide in my closet when I hear lightning…
And the Feather ones are staring dumbly at each other.
I just heard a thunderclap. And felt it. It nearly gave me a heart attack. EEK!!! The lightning is frighteningly close… and a “Severe Thunderstorm Alert” just flashed on the TV behind me.
(11) That detail was Robert’s suggestion. Actually, Robert came up with the idea of using snowflakes in the first place.
12 – Hey, Agrrrfishi, what general area are you in? Minnesota? Wisconsin? Michigan?
A question:
Is NationStates worth joining?
WOW! Another great picture! Lady B., how can you keep doing this???
16-No.
Red-tailed HAWK

What’s NationStates?
18-It’s… terrible. A waste of your time.
Red-tailed HAWK

19- Indeed?
What are other people’s opinions?
I forgot all mine several times so now they’re abandoned, as I think is most of the realm of Muse or whatever it was called. There are some active parts, I think, that could be worthwhile if you joined an active existing country or something though.
19 – ??? What IS it?
It doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do. It’s supposed to model real government, but instead turns into just creating the most radical governments possible. The questions they ask are clearly designed to force you to chose a radical answer, and your government is molded into something completely different than you had intended because of the answers you are forced to give. It doesn’t do anything for you, and is just a big waste of time. As I recall, you HAVE to go on fairly frequently or they destroy your government and make you start from scratch.
Please don’t do it. You’ll be sorry later. Trust me.
It’s a bad thing to get involved with.
Red-tailed HAWK

23 – Hmm, that sounds like something I would get bored of quickly.
Still sounds mildly interesting, though…
23- Thanks, I’ll steer clear of it.
25-Good. Sorry to be so harsh. It’s just I had something like Meow’s reaction when I first learned about it. “Hmm, that could be interesting, why not give it a try?”
BAD IDEA.
Thanks for understanding!
Red-tailed HAWK

I actually really like NationStates…at least, I did when I first joined. It gets a bit dull sometimes. There used to be at least 30 people in Land of the Muse, but now there are only 5 of us, I think.
It’s not good if you’re actually trying to make a good government, but I like it to see how corrupt I can make my country. I’m an “Inoffensive Centrist Democracy” right now. Some of my favorites are “Tyranny by Majority,” “Psychotic Dictatorship,” and “Father Knows Best State.”
I think it really depends on what you’re looking for, because it can either be really fun or really disappointing. They’re releasing a NationStates II soon….I have no idea what the difference will be, though.
23 – Sounds mildly interesting, as Meow said.
23-so…if your only issue with it is that it doesn’t model real government well and if you don’t go on it they delete your nation, then why are you so adamant about people not trying it? they can form their own opinions. i don’t have a problem with you stating your opinion that it’s a waste of time, but you seem a bit intense about the whole thing.
also, if you know you’re not going to be on you can set it in vacation mode. just fyi.
and i don’t think the answers “force” you to be radical at all. it’s simply more interesting that way
Actually, you know what? I just made a “Corrupt Dictatorship” on there. This should get interesting…
Someone’s car alarm is going off far away.
And two girls are/were running around in the street in front of our house shrieking about burritos. And they even sort of climbed the stairs but seemed to change their minds, probably because they saw me staring at them through the window.
-wonders if they have been putting notes in my mailbox-
My kitten is playing with my hair. Silly keeten. (Origin of keeten: kitten acts like parrot, becomes parrot-cat. Parrot becomes parakeet, becomes parakeet-cat. Cat becomes kitten, becomes parakeet-kitten. Is shortened to keeten.)
My mom went out to the country and came back with two gallons of raw milk (yum) plus butter. Now we can make our own cheese.
Ah, there we go. The blog was acting up for a bit, which caused me to add two random and ridiculous posts to the Muse Academy Blog.
16-30) I actually like NationStates. I just keep abondoning my countries.
Must have more sleep…..
*dies*
Wow! Awesome pic!
Ingenious!
Tis the weekend! And I’m leaving for my grandparent’s house tomorrow, so I won’t be on for a few days after that…….
Wow! Great picture!
23- I’d better not mention that to some of my friends. They’d probably create world wars and send each other into economic ruin.
NationStates? meh.
I’m Back From Boy Scout CAMP!
Will tell you about it later! Got to catch up!

37) Really? I do all the time. Is that bad? *is nervous*
38- Well, if you haven’t injured your toes yet, then I suppose it’s fine.
I just had an x-ray. They think I have scoliosis.
Meh.
40) What’s that? *is worried*
41 – It’s a bone disease where your spine doesn’t grow right, I think.
But if I do have it, it would probably be minor and only requiring x-rays every six months making sure it doesn’t get worse.
41- I have scoliosis too, but it’s really minor. A lot of poeple have minor cases. (More than you think) It’s really not a big deal, as long as it doesn’t get worse.
43 – Yeah, I think my case is minor.
Howdy! I have returned from vacation! I”m using lots of exclamation points today! I have nothing to say! But I wanted to post! I’m bored! Good day!
…….
Okay, I think the randomness/sugar high/jet lag is pretty much out of my system now. Posting will continue as normal. (normal. ha!)
……..
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! scoliosis!
i think the dolphin at our zoo had scoliosis.
New Pic=Pwnsomeness.
I’m redoing my room Victorian/Gothic style.
505 posts on the last thread, whoa! Was that a new record?
2 – We ate them.
4 – I’d gladly take some of your rain; it’s boiling here. Those snowflakes are looking pretty appealing at this point!
16 – It’s a neat concept at first, but after awhile it gets really repetitive. It’s worth a look if you’re bored.
27 – There was a Land of Muse? If I ever check my account again (or get a new one since the old one’s probably been deleted by now), I’ll join.
37 – Eep, I do that all the time. I have learned the hard way not to wear them to dances, though. :p
44 – Aah!
Hope it goes away (I don’t know anything about it)!
A German teacher from my city’s sister city there came to visit my school today. He said if you want to study history at a German university, you have to be fluent enough in Latin, Greek, or Hebrew to read the original sources! Guess I wouldn’t be studying history if I studied abroad there…8O
OMG!
I wandered into the kitchen, and a raccoon bolted out of the laundry room!
These city raccoons are much too bold. It was inches from the kitten! -clutches kitten-
In broad daylight!
In the house!
-dies-
48- It wasn’t a record, but I think it was fairly close.

49 -Eek!
49- Yeek! Raccoons! They’re evil! They steal food! They carry diseases!
53- Steal food, yes. Carry diseases, some of them. And they claw out kittens’ eyes.
46 – It does, but the spine is seriously messed up. You can only notice mine when I bend down; and even then only very faintly.
-53 hey! I LOVE Raccoons. Admittedly, I did get chased by a skunk running from our neighbor just this morning, but…
You know what makes me laugh so hard I pee my pants? The Wall of Shame on Mugglenet.com. (for Potter fans only, btw)
yep. But as you say, for Potter fans only!!!!
57 – AHAHAHAHAHA!!!! That is hilarious!!!!
57- that things Awful! Why do people hate HP so much?
60- If you’re looking for rational and considered criticism, don’t go to the Wall of Shame.
61 – I’ll say.
61- I know.
49) A raccoon? Really? In your house? Fascinating. I’ve never known one to actually come inside. They’ve just mostly crawled all over every outside part of our house as they can. I’m glad it didn’t hurt your kitten. The closest one has ever gotten to me was when one was sitting at the other side of my grandmother’s glass door and staring at us out of the corner of it’s eye while it ate the dog food of my grandmother’s pet. Of course, my feeling is that a raccoon or anything of the sort wouldn’t harm me, only the diseases they carry. Bleh. Especially rabies. Beware of rabies.
57) I’m confused.
What is Mugglenet? Why is there a wall of shame? Why do these people care enough about Harry Potter that they want to hate it?
64 – Mugglenet is an HP fansite. The “Wall of Shame” is a list of a lot of idiotic/stupid/just plain hilarious hate mail/mail from Harry/Hermione shippers.
Nice picture! I like the sound of “Boflakes.” The Featherflakes are spiffy, too.
37-
I do that all the time. Nothing’s happened yet though.
49-
Yikes!
57- Yes.
The first one gets to me. Every. Single. Time.
65) Hmmmmmmmm, that site just seems silly.
Well, goodmorning everyone!
Well, I won’t be on for a few days after this, I shall be visiting my grandparents.
My friend was showing me an online game (won’t say which, but it’s multiplayer) and I saw a male character say to a female one theat he wouldn’t do this online dating with her she was only 5 and he was 39
49: similar things have happened to me…
… I know how you feel…
… please pie me.
Hi everyone! I am on my way to Colorado! We’ve been driving for two days and I am now in Salt Lake City! (but since we’re about to leave and I don’t live there, GAPAs please don’t cut it!)
68 – Well, good…but EW.
I’ll post on here if anything interesting happens.
Oh yeah! I hate casinoes. Last night we had to eat dinner in one, and it smelled and was creepy and dark and had 139087428390 mirrors all over the place so you couldn’t see anything normally, and the gift shop contained hot pink bunnies!
I lose.
68 – That game is stupid. Weird.
It is wayyyyyyyyyy to hot where I live. (sighs) I haven’t jumped on the trampoline in forevvvvvvvverrrrrrrr…
“More cool thoughts to take our minds off the heat”
Heat? What heat?
Note – what follows is a random update about my life
Gargh. Our house is being packed into boxes… We had our last Sunday at church today, and everyone was so sweet – especially I and E (4 and 2 years old, roughly). Aww…
Yesterday my friends had a surprise party for me! Yay! I went over to S’s house, because she said that we were just going to watch a DVD, etc, and then eight other people were there!
68) Will do! *pies*
*is happy* *would do a cartwheel, if I knew how* *imagines self trying to do cartwheel* *imagines self getting half way and falling flat on my face* *is still happy anyway*
It’s not too hot where I live.
Heat? What Heat? I agree with Cinamoon
My house recently got packed into boxes to move into our beautiful new house. No surprise party , though.
68- Sick. Sick. Sick.
I’m (hopefully) going to the pool, but it’s going to be jam packed. I wish I were up noooooorth!
Mhmm, heat
Today we have winds going 20-30 mph with tons of sunshine, around 25 degrees Celsius. Perfect day.
Friday it was at least around 32-33 degrees. Playing 4 hours of tennis…
Crazy Illinois weather *grumbles*.
I LOSE.
I think I’m going to try NationStates. Assuming I can think of a name for my country that isn’t already taken.
48 – I remember at least once where there were over 700 posts on one random thread.
51 – NO. BUNNIES GOOD. BUNNIES JUST MISUNDERSTOOD.
57 – I’ll check it out.
LOL. That is seriously funny.
68 – Ick…
49 – In the house?! 8 O I can’t even imagine what would happen if a raccoon got in here….the dogs would probably destroy the kitchen trying to get at it. :p
69 – Aaaah! The Bunny Apocalypse must be near.
79 – Nooo! I lose again.
Bleh, I totally freaked out last night for no good reason. Reading Robert Bloch stories when you’re home alone on a really dark and stormy night is a bad idea.
64- In CA we had a family of raccoons that would come in and eat the cat food and wander around the house.
gnash- -pies-
72- That was what I thought. Until yesterday.
-dies-
Oh, and I lose.
-has no patience for sitting at the computer-
Anyway, last night my mom had an art opening, so I went to be polite, but since I’d already seen all the art in a different gallery, I was bored. But Eva came and we filmed weird things, like the Senior Center with the sign “Crafts for Sale” and Eva jumping into the hedge outside the church and the ****** house. The creepy one. Here is a rather amusing conversation:
Eva: Look, salmonberries. But they’re ****** salmonberries. They’re probably poisoned.
-films-
Eva: Do you think they are poisoned?
Me: Probably.
Eva: Oh well, I like to live dangerously.
Me: Of course you do.
Eva: -eats berry- -spits it out-
Me: Was it poisoned?
Eva: Probably.
And then we went and sat in the park and discussed the ****** house and the ghosts and how they stabbed their kids and the time Eva broke in and all the creepy things she saw (BTW, it’s abandoned). And then we walked home. And eventually Eva’s friend F came over, and after sitting around for a while discussing axe murderers etc we decided to go get pizza. It was 11 PM.
So we walked down in the dark to the river path and lay on our backs and looked at the stars and then started walking again. It was really weird and sort of dreamlike, and we kept being absolutely terrified, and then saying it didn’t matter if we died. And we got downtown and kept walking and then we encountered F’s parents. And we were informed that the curfew was 10 PM (it was now about 12:30) and that the police were looking for us. So we turned around and went back home and ranted about the curfew and how all our lovely alternate realities are spoiled by the authorities (but we didn’t get caught). And we’d just been walking, not doing anything.
And then we had pizza that F’s mom brought us and slept under the stars and watched the meteor shower.
I dunno. I just worry about getting in trouble with the authorities and not being the sensible one anymore. But I talked to my mom about it and she said we’re supposed to have adventures like that, as long as we don’t, like, hurt anyone or do anything criminal. So I guess it’s all good.
It was rather fun, at the least the first half.
(72, 75) The caption does say “take our minds off the heat.” Your results may vary.
lemon ice is cool
andy called today and asked what my shirt size was. so i’m thinking i might get a jew-shirt? which is also pretty cool
the school roof is also pretty cool. /kind of my life now. i’ve been spending waaay too much time up there
oh (double-post, sorry) but i also might get a free computer, although probably not
but bill’s mom either is in or knows of (not sure which) this group that builds comps for fun and then gives them away
pretty cool
61- But it’s still hilarious, even though half of them are probably planned…
Is everybody saying “I lose” because of the Game?
I’ll play if we are.
85 – Of course. Why else would we be saying it?
-loses-
I like the snowflake pic.
I went swimming and got an incipient tan. Meh. That’s what I get for falling asleep on a lawn chair… Now I have a tan back and a pale front.
I lose.
79 – I made “The Empire of Kokonilly”; something like “The People’s Republic of The Vocalization of Feline” should be available.
85- what game?
90 – There are several rules (correct me if I’m wrong, others.):
– You never win; you always lose.
– Tell everyone you know about the Game.
– Whenever you remember about the Game, you have to say “I lose”.
I lose.
Oh, and I JUST WENT TO THE STAR WARS EXHIBIT AT THE SCIENCE MUSEUM.
This was me the whole time:
Yay!!!! I loooove this place! This is sooo cool! *gasp* LOOK! It’s C-3PO! And R2-D2! And Chewbacca! And Darth Vader’s suit! And… the Millenuim Falcon. Oh well. *shrugs* It is merely a replica of the real thing, which is in a museum on Coruscant.

My family:
91- xkcd once ran a comic saying
“YOU WIN THE GAME.
It’s OK. You’re free!”
I’ll try NationStates as well, I think, and form my own opinion.
92-I love R2-D2. He’s my favorite charecter.
95 – I KNOW!!!! Squee!

94 – Good idea. It’s decent if you’re trying to form a corrupt government, not so much for a realistic one.
I feel strangely hyper right now.
425 on last thread (aka Roberto)–Oops…my bad…has Rosanne always lived in CA, or is my memory just that bad??
Okay, I just made a NationStates…
Now what?
98 – Join “The Land of the Muse”.
-resists NationStates trend-
Ha!
BTW, I lose.
Good job, posting I lose, because now I lose.
KERLI FINALLY FINISHED HER ALBUM SQUEE.
*panic*
99 re 98- The password is [snip!]
(97) Effectively always. She’s been there since before any past or present MuseBlogger was born.
102 – Should you post that for the world to see? *gets nervous* *is paranoid*
I lose.
104- The GAPAs can delete it. I assume CM’s seen it by now.
105 – I guess… If she hasn’t… well, I can tell her somehow.
I lose.
*is happy*
I burned basically all of my math homework from the past year in my parent’s brand-new fire pit. It made me feel powerful. And I finally started reading Dracula.
107 – I want to burn my assignments soooo badly. *craves*
I lose.
I probably should burn my assignments. One problem: the fire ban.
*glares at Kokonilly*
I guess I lose, too.
109 – *feels sorry* Good thing it was pouring a couple days ago. I should go somewhere and burn my assignments.
I lose.
99 – I would, if I knew how.
105 – Nah, I missed it. No big deal, though.
-loses-
112 – Meow, what’s your country’s name?
I lose.
113 – The Confederacy of Hot Pink Bunnyness. 8)
Motto: “E Pluribus Pink”
114 – Thank you!
Ooh! I want to play the Game!
I lose.
My legs are really sore from taekwondo. We had an instructor workout and we did about 90 crouches with a medicine ball, then we did 150 calf raises. Tomorrow I’m going running, and then biking into taekwondo early to do more classes. Ouch.
I’m starting to look at colleges with pilot programs. It’s getting me really excited to learn to fly!!! It’s also freaking me out to think that in 3 years I’ll be expected to act like a grown up. I don’t really mind leaving home or taking care of my own place or having a job, but I don’t want to be a normal adult.
I think I’ll be fine in college but I don’t want to stop going to school because I have no idea how to run my life without school there to build my schedule around. When you’re in school you even schedule work around it.
Oh well I guess I’ll get used to it. *mental meltdown*
And I lose again.
116 – It’s not like you have a choice on whether you play The Game or not.
116 – You’re *counts* fifteen? Wow.
People here are old. I’m 12, and I already feel small at school.
I lose as well.
Shadowkat (97), Robert (103): Hi.Yep, I’ve lived in California effectively forever. But way back more than 25 years ago I did live in some other places: Pennsylvania, Maryland and Ohio.
Hey, Rosanne! Good to “see” you!
*pies*
78- *ears perk up* You’re from IL? Do you play high school tennis?
Eh, your area’s probably not the same as mine anyway. Pity.
I won the game. I’m free of it. But yoyu all lose
The first rule is actually, if you think about the game you lose. If you doen’t know what it is, you’re winning (except, of course, I won; xkcd tell sme so and it is the law).
So the only people who win are the ones who go their whole lives not knowing about ituntil they die.
A bittersweet victory, neh?
Here’s a point about the game that my brother and I were debating the other day:
Okay, so in the version of the rules my brother and I have seen, “the point of the game is to have the whole world playing”.
In most games, the once you complete/reach the objective of the game, you win.
However, you cannot win The Game.
So…hypothetically, what happens if the whole world loses? Does everybody win?
122 (Cat’s Meow): That’s really interesting. Kind of like a “if you try to fail and succeed, which have you done” kind of thing.
(116) Don’t worry, many of us manage to avoid becoming “normal” adults. And I’d say being a MuseBlogger gives you a head start.
124 – Phew. I was afraid of being normal later in my life.
I don’t think many people here have to worry about that.
True. Very true.
So far, I really like NationStates. I’ve found that if you want to simulate real government, ignore the lower description- it’s mostly for laughs. Just look at the upper box, where it describes your civil rights, economy, and political freedoms.
I’ve had some fun with laws there. It is HILARIOUS!!! (Please remember I am a bored twelve-year-old Muser with waaaay too much time on my hands, so I pass weird laws.)
I just discovered something really, really cool! The Darian Calendar is a calendar created for timekeeping on Mars that has 24 months of 28 or 27 days!
Today would be the 18th of Mina.
There’s a converter here: www .options4. com/ calendars/ darian.html
129- That’s right, Miss “Compulsory Public Nudity.”
Everyone else: Don’t ask.
130 – Neat! *goes off to look* My birthday’s Pisces 3, 1996.
100-i find it ironic that you “resist the trend” of nationstates, and then turn around and play the Game
personally, i won the game long before xkcd told me i had. srsly, this was the conversation (i forget who it was with, might have been andy or bill)
?: Aww, i just lost the game
everyone else: Oh come on, now i lost the game
Me: I don’t play the game
?: Everybody plays the game
Me: I don’t. I won
?: How do you “win” the game?
Me: By not playing
everybody else: THAT’S CHEAP
Me: I know
here’s something cool, i might be going to a concert with bill, bill’s mom’s ex, and bill’s mom’s ex’s new gf. basically bill’s mom was like “OMGZ you should go!” but she couldn’t go herself, and then she found out her ex (they’re still friends) was going, and she was like “take bill!” so bill was like “meep, hey friends, please come with so it’s not extremely awkward?”
i don’t know the band though, it’s called government mule. i’ll prolly find a torrent sometime today
*Gov’t Mule, sorry. and according to wiki, they’re a southern rock/jam band, which sounds pretty cool
131 –
I know, don’t I rock?!?!?!?!?!

I lose. Thanks, ebeth.
I’m in a semi-hyper mood right now, but I feel like grinning a lot.
123 – Exactly!
Logic rocks.
128 – I know, it’s cool. I just wish it gave you issues more often.
133 – You can also win the game by cheating. If you break Rule #2 (You cannot win. You can only lose.), then you can win!
But losing is more fun.
I LOSE.
136- You can set it to give you issues twice daily.
133- Hmm. Good point. I’m being inconsistent. I’ll have to stop playing the Game.
But how do you stop? I’ll just try …um… announcing it.
I’m not playing the Game anymore. So ha.
Yay!
137 – I did. That’s still not much, though.
(138) Instead of saying “I lose,” you could say “I quit.” Might that work?
137 – That’s what I did.
I LOSE.
140- OK. I quit.
w00t!
-still wants to play NationStates-
Argh. Must not give in to trends….
139 – True. I do wish they would give more.
138 – Once you start, you can never stop. That’s Rule #1: You are always playing the game.

142 – *peer pressures into joining NationStates* It’s really fun! I love the things you can do.
142- I take comfort in the fact that I started the trend, so I’m not technically giving into it.
145- And the things you can do outside the official boundaries. Like the buttermilk smuggling industry. Or the Hamster Ball
146 – I don’t care if I give into a trend on MB. I care if it’s at school, but not at MB.
I gave in.
Land of the Muse on NationStates used to have TONS of MBers, then in the past year it dwindled down to only 5. Then, in the last few days our numbers have grown to 12. *excitement*
I gave in too! Yippee!!!! *is
strangelyhyper*107 – Dracula is one of my favorite books.
116 – College scares me, too (but I only have a year before I go, aaaah!). The academics should be fine, but I have no life skills! I need to learn how to cook, at least.
126 – Good!
No time for Nationstates at the moment, but I might join later. While we’re talking about games, who else plays/has played (I haven’t in awhile, so I think my old account got deleted) Kingdom of Loathing?
I do like Nationstates.
150- I made a country, but how do you join the Land of the Muse? *confused*
Just a semi-question- I’m not on the “Who’s here” Page… which might have to do with the fact that I lurked for one or two years before posting more than 5 times, and not on the neophytes thread… is there any way to find out what my first museblog post was?
Aha, never mind the first part of my last post. I found it
May I suggest a NationStates thread?
154 – Please telegram me, The Empire of Kokonilly, and I will tell you the password.
Me to?
(154) You are now in “Who’s Here.” Apologies for the oversight. Your first known post was November 11, 2007, though you mentioned in your comment that you’d been on before but couldn’t remember what name you used. We couldn’t find anything earlier either.
159 – I don’t think MARFwarrior is there either.
Last time I checked my name was messed up on the Who’s Here page. It says “La Mort, La Vie, La Mort”.
Never mind.
Thank you, GAPAs!
159- Thanks! That seems about right. The earlier posts don’t really count, anyways
Yes, I joined NationStations.
Yes, I just lost.
Yes, today has been boring.
*runs by in cameo appearance*
But you need a PASSWORD to join the Land of Muse! I found it, but I can’t join… *confused*
I bet it’s something obvious.
Oh, right, I just saw Kokonilly’s message. Sorry for double posting.
Ugh. NationStates is freaking out on me and saying that it’s not available.
hint: muse the fist to letters of that muses name, then nz. all on word.
168 – It does that sometimes.
169 – He knows already; it’s fine.
The old NS thread is open again! We can discuss things without clogging up the LOTM board!
170-Thank you. Does it do this often? *worried*
NationStates isn’t working right now for me.
It’s odd when it does that.
I wonder what would happen if you zapped a pile of muffins with a beam of pure krypton.
Just curious.
174- Krypton is a noble gas. How would you get it to become a beam?
Make it really really cold?
FINE.
-gives in-
Now I just need to think of a name and stuff.
Agh, kitten drama. Except not with my kitten.
Today Eva and Opal and I went down to Safeway. We bought some stuff and sat outside eating and laughing at the vending machine that doesn’t behave properly (Opal pressed “Key Lime” and got “Wild Cherry” and I pressed “Wild Cherry” and got “Key Lime”. And sugar substitutes make drinks taste funny). Anyway, some people were giving out kittens and Eva, who didn’t want them to be taken by some evil person who was going to torture them, took one. And then couldn’t keep it. So Opal tried to find a home, and Eva and I tried to get it away from Opal long enough to take it back, and it was a mess, until Eva just decided to call the animal shelter.
After all, it’s a kitten. It’ll get adopted very quickly.
I went to a rummage sale today.
I got a set of 4 blue suitcases, a pocket cribbage board, a grey skirt, a pair of dark blue ankle boots, a ton of turquoise and blue and yellow and silver bangles, and a rag rug.
For $6.
And now I need to go wash my hair.
But I’ll do NationStates first.
176- That would make it a solid. Unless you’re thinking “beam” as in “beam of wood?”
175- Squirt it with a solution of dinitrate hydrocarbonated fritos. Or just add lots of energy, whichever seems more plausable to you. (Noble gases can make compounds, whatever your chem teacher tells you. It’s been done. A beam on the other hand….)
176- If that’s true then they should be blueberry muffins.
178- But muffins are already solid…..
I suppose that if it were to be a beam like a beam of wood that it would be freezing cold since krypton is a gas.
is nationstates free?
Yes, it is.
177- Tell us your name, when you get one
Nationstates is actually nicer than I had expected. Especially after the first five minutes when I can’t find anything.
All Nation States Conversation: Please move to NationStates thread at https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=119!
177 – Telegram me when you get there; I’m The Empire of Kokonilly.
NationStates? I must have missed something.
So, I am now in Denver, CO. This hotel has a very, very small pool. Tomorrow, we’re going to the Nature and Science Museum. (so if anyone randomly happens to be at the museum tomorrow, I may possibly see you there.)
I’m going to go look up NationStates.
my schedule is mostly figured out yay!
1. AP music theory OR latin III
Parents want me to do latin so i can get an honors diploma. i’m gonna ask if i can get the honors by doing a year of a different language instead, since i’ve tried to take my third year twice and there’s been a conflict both times. but there’s no way i’m giving up music theory.
2. AP euro history
3. AP stats
4. ??? nothing so far, but i’m not doing study hall, so i might take a couple semester classes here, or maybe a different language if they let me do that.
5. band
6. AP lit
7. torch (newspaper)
OMG a spider just dropped onto my screen!!!
He’s one of the little jumping zebra ones… aww!
Ahahahaha I can make him run around the screen with my cursor! He’s afraid of it! Hehehehehe!
I shall call him Loepold.
Nooo where’d he go?! Oh he’s on the back of the comp. Come here little guy… hehe he tickles… now he’s hiding in my napkin ^^
[snip] where’d I drop him oh there he is. Now where’d mom hide the cameras…
NOOOO I can’t find him anywhere! I only left for a second to try to find the camera (a failed mission)!
Now I can’t get off the chair, what if I crush him?
Goodbye, Leopold… I’ll miss you.
In other spider-related news, I found the one I accidentally dropped in my bed a while ago! He had found his way into the curtain (I have curtains around my bed for absolute darkness).
Is it just that nobody’s posting, or is moderation slow?
Whoops, ignore that post.
*sigh* *is bored*
Hi Kokonilly! *is bored too* Where is everybody?
I’m eating a jumbo jawbreaker for no good reason and working on my novel. Everybody go to the Books In Progress thread and read it!
What Happened to the RC?
It’s back.
187- Aw…
On the Ashland trip HG and JO found a bug and named him Paton.
190- TOO LONG. -dies- I have a short attention span!
Going off line!
Did the Muse Fanfiction thread die?
I watched Pippin (my all time favorite musical) for the first time in a while today. The Bob Fosse one… wans’t Rebecca in Caberet? That was Bob Fosse also, I think. I ♥ Bob Fosse.
I do level two latin… anywho…I JUST LEARNED HOW TO SHOOT ARROWS WITH MY MIND!!!
Back on.
196- That sounds like a very useful skill.
193- I saw him again, later, on the ceiling. But he didn’t stay there long so I’ve no idea where he’s at now. It was fun playing with him while it lasted though : /
Sometimes I name the bugs/arachnids, sometimes not… there was this one dead bug I found on the bathroom floor I called… Robert? (no relation to Mr. Coontz, though) I think Robert but it might have been Fred. Fred doesn’t sound quite right but the F part does *stops rambling*

Anyway, Robert/Fred was on the floor in there for about a week.
But then he was gone
I think I may have posted something about naming him after I found him a while ago…
Moderation is extraordinarily slow…it’s behind at least 2 hours…
3, in fact.
201 – No, 4 minutes.
201 – Really? Must me the time zone confusion.
HORRENDOUS TYPO ALERT.
*be
Sorry.
200 (Cat’s Meow): Yes, I was wondering about that. I kept checking the Chess thread to see if Black had moved yet, but then after a few hours I figured it was a lost cause. And now, I’m off to sleep.
-falls over in exhaustion-
186 – Is Latin III Vergil? It’ll be fun if it is.
196 – Teach me! *makes list of things she wants to shoot* My chemistry textbook…yes, I definitely want to shoot that…
206 – Don’t SHOOT it; BURN it!!!
57 – I love the Wall of Shame!
Captain Obvious to the rescue!
In other news, I’m going to be in mountains for about 1 1/2 weeks, so there either won’t be Internet or I won’t have access due to family reunion things. So I’m not going to be here for awhile.
And my friend showed my YuGiOh Abridged a couple weeks ago. It is insanely, dumbly hilarious.
And my brother and dad are both reading over my shoulder.
Oh, no! Not Chemistry! Save the Chemistry book. Burn something else.
*chemistry geek*
193-Well, I did warn everyone…
My birthday party’s today! Squee!
206-not sure. but i probably won’t be able to take it anyway
211-happy birthday to yoooou
i’m gonna stalk you to your houuuuusee
i waaant a piece of pieeeee
and i aaam not aaa mouuuuuuuse
208 – My brother and I used to watch Yugioh Abridged, but then my parents banned it.
211 – Wait, when’s your birthday?
I just finished writing my first letter to my mentee for school. I didn’t do very well with my mentee last year, and my mentee the year before that didn’t need any help, so I’m determined to do better this year.
AP scores! two more fours (gov and lang/comp)
I finally finished Day 4 of my eCyberMission Diary.
The sad thing is that it has been 3 weeks, and I’m still not even done with the eCyberMisison part of the trip. (Admittedly, the last 6 days will be shorter, because didn’t do as much, but Days 5 and 6 will still be really long.)
Wow I’ve been back for several days but haven’t posted yet…my laziness overwhelms even myself. In any case many kokos were spotted across Arizona and New Mexico. I even found some koko stuffed animals, although I initially thought they were raccoons drinking something or other. I took pictures of those, maybe I can send them in.
214) congrats!
Anyone else get AP scores back? I know there were more people who took tests and whatnot.
216- Hi! -pies-
Eva has a purse with two Kokopellis on it. O.O
Hello everyone! I’m back after a week of swimming, sailing, and not knowing what time of day it is. Or even what day it was. And tanning. I’m sure I’m tanned, but you just can’t see it under the burn….
One day, a few hours without sunscreen, wearing sunglasses, and now I look like an inverted raccoon. Grr. It’s not too noticeable, but just enough that if you look hard enough you can see it. *sigh* oh well, it was a fun week.
We got a sailboat a few years ago, and this week was the first time we’d taken it out, so there were a few, umm, interesting adventures that we had.
The first day we had to sail it to the cabin from a public boat launch, and then get to the other side of a bridge, well, the boat was most definitely not going to fit, (the mast is way tall) so we had to put the mast down, get it under the bridge, and then set it up again…..whew. In the water. Like I said, INTERESTING would describe it.
Then last night (well, early this morning, we got in late) I got a letter from a friend who I haven’t seen or heard from in two years. That was a pleasant surprise…..
Anyway, I have to wade through all the emails I got while I was away, and if anyone cares to sum up what’s been going on around here I’d be eternally indebted.
218- -jealous-
Anyway, a summary. A lot of people talked about NationStates, and POSOC got Victory of Eagles, and some people talked about Wall-E, and there was a conversation about the Game, and Jade found a spider and named it Leopold but if vanished, and, um, probably some other stuff happened.
211-HAPPY BIRTHDAY NILLY! *pies profusely* It IS your birthdau right? *hopes she didn’t miss it*
219~ Thanks….umm, sounds fun.
The spider sounds nice, Leopold, what a name.
Uugh, I’m tired……we got home at 2 or s in the morning, and then i wnet to bed, but couldn’t fall asleep because of Circles (the cat) who was sitting on my doorstep and mewing all night….then in later in the morning (but still way before I wanted to get up) he starts mewing AGAIN and woke me up and I couldn’t get back to sleep at all. But I love him, what can I say….. *is tired*
Hello everyone! I am officially back!
222~ Welcome back, where have you been?
Hey, see you all later!! I’m off now, I’ve got other stuff to do (urgh) but I’ll be back! It’s so ice to be able to come on here again….I missed it while I was gone, but I was reading the HG2G books, so I felt that I was getting a sufficient amount of muserly humor and whatnot……
One of my friends personalitites is named leopold.
I liked the Muse-sicles. who was the green one? and the pink one? I couldnt tell.
I met with the governor of Ohio today, we talked about the future of renewable energy! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I’m going to karate again for the first time in ages.
Mom accused me of being anorexic today because I’M NOT HUNGRY. This is getting stupid, she really can’t think of anything else to bug me with so she tells me I have a disorder.
Just because I don’t eat breakfast the SECOND I GET UP dosn’t mean I’m anorexic.
228- I don’t eat breakfast, but I’m not anorexic.
I went to the Bosnian restaurant today. ♥ spinach pie.
I’m super sleepy now…
Apollo (Eva’s kitten) and Kittenday (ours) are getting along splendidly. Mother says we won’t be able to give Apollo back to Eva because they’ll get so attached to each other. Which is slightly problematic.
212 – *gasp* *runs*
213 – 13 days ago. But we had a family conflict, so we couldn’t have a party ’til now. Tell ’em about it, MARFwarrior!
220 – Um, it was 13 days ago.
228 – My mom accuses me of having ADD. And I accuse her back. You know, we actually show quite a few of the symptoms of ADD/ADHD.
Hello all!
we got pictures of her soaking wet.
We just washed our dog in out backyard today. She smells really good now. *inhales deeply* She started going crazy when we tried to dry her off. She loves water though. Now her fur is silky smooth.
227- Lucky.
229- So you have two kittens now?
Okay, so I just signed up for this one website and I had to take an online safety quiz as part of my registration.
Question #1: Why is it important to never meet people in real life that you only known online?
1. Because I could get murdered
2. Because I could get kidnapped
3. All of the above
I started cracking up…
223) I’ve been at my grandparents.
227) Wow. How did you get to do that? That must have been awesome!
233) Hee hee. That’s hilarious!
Although, seriously, that could happen.
227- Rockin’!
233, 234- I agree, it’s hilarious, but all too real.
On this day in 1969, the Apollo 11 crew took off for the moon.
233 – *gasp* Deadly Kokons!
232- Yup.
233- That’s why it’s important never to meet people that you’ve only known online if your parents aren’t with you.
234, 235, 236, 237 – Yeah, I know. I mean, the Kokons I’ve been to have been really safe, because we’ve had at least three parents at each of them, but I just found it kind of funny that the question didn’t distinguish at all.
Oh. I’m so hungry.
It’s strange that during school time went by SO QUICKLY, and now that it’s summer it just goes on and on..
Speaking of which, *skips onto Homeschool thread*
239 – The last two weeks of school just flew by for me. I guess it’s true that the more fun you’re having, the faster the time goes.
238 – Yeah, I guess.
But I think I’m meeting Beat at the Field Museum – w/out my parents.
Ah well, at least I’ll be with a responsible adult — my chaperone.
It’s thunderstorming again.
57-Oh god. This makes me feel like “losing faith in the human race”.
241 – Just make sure that your parent and chaperone know what you’re doing…
(244, 241) Yes. Please. We GAPAs worry about you.
Hello all! And goodbye at the same time, because today is probably the last day that I’ll be able to post for three weeks. I’ll be here on and off for the rest of the day, and at the latest 10:30 or 11:00.
244 – Okay.
245 – Yes, SIR!
246- Bye!!!
I’m going to dye a sheet green and then make a very simple dress out of it. Then I’m going to stitch green tulle to the outside, and maybe some green ribbons and I don’t know what else. And then I’m going to braid strands of my hair and paint my face and put glitter and stuff on my arms and hair. All I need are the proper shoes…
246 – Bye!
I’m bored. And listening to “The Tide is High”, which, coincidentally, was also playing at Valleyfair yesterday.
234- If I said you could probably find out my real name, but it was pretty cool he says he thinks that one day renewable energy will be more widespread than fossil fuels are today! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I have returned!
From where, thou might ask. Well, my friend: er, from life. Yeah, it’s time-consuming. And impossible to avoid, so you might as well go along with it and have a great time while you’re at it!
How have you been?
GAPAs? Can we have a gardening thread? I know I would like it, and hopefully others would too. I thought I saw Kiwimuncher saying something about gardening somewhere.
Red-tailed HAWK

248) Why are you dressing up?
250) Well, most definately! I mean, it’d have to be, since the supplies of fossil fuels will eventually run out. Even if that were a long time from now, it would happen eventually.
250 – That’s cool. I got to meet my state’s representative when she came to my school, and then again when I went to Washington DC. Governer must be even cooler than that, though.
252-You’re concerned about fossil fuels and such?? Wow!
I agree, fossil fuels will surely run out. I do believe oil (and thus Gas) will run out within 50 years. Unless we all plan on having extremely short lives, we have a VERY real problem on our hands.
I’d put this on the Global warming thread, but I’m sure that’s dead. Let me check…
Red-tailed HAWK

254 – Ooh, that is worrying. *worries*
254- That is why we must be self-sufficient, so when we can’t get food from other places we’ll still survive.
-drinks raw milk-
-visits farmer’s market-
The smileys are currently messed up on my computer. They’re blurry and stuff.
SEE? That one was blurry!
258) No it isn’t!
254) Does that surprise you?
I mean, if you think about it, our whole economy revolves around that automobile. Whole towns are built around the car! I mean, there is no way for my family to make it to my towns downtown without driving, unless I want to walk 45 minutes to get there. And we’re relatively close compared to other people! Plus, almost every worker in my town is a commuter. How would they get to work without their car? The answer is, they can’t! But this shouldn’t be so! There should be adequate public transportation systems around our country, but they can only be found in big cities. Our country used to have a good train system, but no longer as I see it. My town was built around the train, but it doesn’t even stop there anymore. I mean, that’s how it is where I am, and I don’t expect that it’s that much different anywhere else in this country. And no one is making many effort to change this!
Plus, why doesn’t the government start investing in solar energy? No one hears about us making solar energy farms? Why? I can tell you right now that we have the space.
259 – It’s on-off!!!!
At least ONE of those will be blurry.
Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikessssssssss……….bbIIIIIIIIIIkkkkkkkkeeeeeeSSSSSSS!!!!
259- Solor is really expensive right now. a new type is comeing out soon for less.
Doctor Horrible
’nuff said
also, i’m going to visit a couple colleges oh joy >.<
but flogging molly apparently has two openers so we might be able to do the parent concert thing and still get there before they start playing. it starts at 5 and the band thing’s at 6, we’ll probably get there around 6:30 or 7 so things don’t look too terrible. the openers will probably start around 5:30 or 6 and go until around when we show up, if we’re lucky.
GOING TO CTD TOMORROW.
So lucky.
265 – Me? Really? How?
266- The Gifted thing I was going to do this summer was Canceled.
267 – Aww… too bad… *sympathy*
See yeah! Remember to put NationStates on Vacation Mode!
Just “watched” the launch on YouTube. Some kind person put up the actual ABC TV broadcast a pre-Muser would have seen.
Hallo. I’m off to NationStates.
Goodbye.
271~ Hello. Goodbye. It was nice seeing you.
I’m off, to go and, umm, do something other than stare at a screen and wait for new comments. I’m not sure what, but something.
Maybe I’ll go find something to eat, that would be a good idea. Or practice, because I have a recital coming up on Sunday, and I don’t want to totally screw it up. Or read, but I need to get the book from the library before I an do that…..or something. Maybe I’ll lie on my back and stare into space wondering what the opposite of lasagna is. Or something like that. Okay, this is getting long and rambling…..
259- We are continously building out. That’s our problem. We’re making things worse. *sigh* Everything is messed up. When I’m older, I’m going to find a way to fix whatever I can.
272) But how could lasagna have an opposite? Maybe space has the answer. *stares into space*
Spent 4 hours playing tennis in 90 degree weather, which gave me a bad headache, so when I got home I had to lay down as it turned into one of my migraines. Which meant that when I tried to take some medicine, my stomach rebelled and I spent from 12-7 o’ clock alternately throwing up the contents of my stomach (hardly anything but uhhhhg) and whimpering from the pounding in my head.
But better now thankfully… headache almost all the way gone… eating some crackers and water…
if you haven’t already seen it, go watch Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. Only up (for free) until the 20th. Created by Joss Whedon, creator of Firefly. Go and entertain thyselves.
I’ve seen it. It’s very funny.
274- random story about staring into space:
A: Why are you staring at me?
B: I’m staring into space. You’re in the way.
A: Omg, I’m so sorry.
True story. Some people just don’t understand sarcasm. Or lasagna.
The “Freeze Ray Laundromat Song,” hunh?
The oposite of lasagna is angasal.
Hi.
I don’t like lasagna, but I like staring into space.
275-Aww *crackers since chocolate might make you sick again*
275) that is so horrible…I get borderline migraines sometimes but I have headaches all the time too, it is so not fun…I hope you feel better
275- Aw, that sucks. -sympathy-
My dad is teaching me to play Poker.
I’m beating him. Or I was, until recently.
Poker? Hmmmmmm. I’ve never played that, although, I like Bridge.
283- I learned poker with my friend from two of my other friends. (Whoa, that sounded confusing.) It was at school, and we got to skip three classes to save seats in the gym for the little-kids play. Of course, we just played Poker. Nobody wanted to sit in the bleachers at the end of the gym anyway.
I won our game.
And I got Eights and Aces.
Although I had a red Ace and the wrong fifth card, which I’m glad of.
Today I’m going to dye my sheet and then try to remember how to make my dress. I made something like it before, but I can’t remember how. It’ll have a little yoke, and then a huge circle-ish skirt coming down from it, if there’s enough fabric. It’ll be sort of like my nightgown, only without a ruffle or sleeves. And then I’ll have a braided belt (I think) and maybe some ribbons and tulle and stuff. I’m excited.
I learned poker in Peru from the guys on the trip with us. For some reason every time I go on a group trip or a camp I make friends with more guys than girls.
My mom says after I get my driver’s license I can start flying, but she wants me to be able to drive myself there. So I’m hoping that I get a bunch of money for Christmas and my birthday because they’re near the same time. Then I can fly!!!! Woo!!!
Re: poker: I don’t know how to play.
Re: driver’s license: 4 years!
I’m bored, so I’m randomly going to list all of the injuries I currently have.
Pointer Finger of Left Hand: Small, reddish mark about the size of a sesame seed. Hurts when I touch it.
Explanation: I originally cut it on my braces, two days ago. Ironically, my friends and I had just been discussing the potential danger of wires sticking out on braces, and right as I said it probably wasn’t that dangerous I cut my finger on it. It started to heal, but I opened it again when I slid during my soccer game yesterday.
Left Knee: Probably extremely dirty, because I put a bandage on it before I took a shower and haven’t been able to get it off since, with bits of scabs.
Explanation: I fell during a soccer game. That’s where most of my injuries come from.
Middle Finger of Right Hand: Hard to see, 1/4 inch long scratch/cut in the middle of the finger tip. Appears to be going away, because it’s better then yesterday.
Explanation: I have no idea.
Thumb of Right Hand: Teeny tiny cut to the right of the thumb, as you’re looking at the underside.
Explanation: I have no idea, except to say that my hands are getting extraordinarily damaged lately.
Just Above my Left Knee: Black and blue mark.
Explanation: Probably the same injury that made my knee bleed the other day.
Right Ankle: Big black and blue mark.
Explanation: Soccer, most likely.
Big scab on my thigh: A bug bit me the other day, and it itched, so I scratched a bunch. And it started bleeding.
Wow, that was really random. But, yeah, I’m getting hurt more then usually lately.
Alas. I now have my permit but I dread using it. I’m a HORRIBLE driver. You guys have no idea. Although, it was hilarious the first time I drove with my mother. She immediately started shouting at me to slow down the car and break and then I turned……… but I didn’t see the pothole in the road on my mom’s side. She had actually startled me so much with her screaming that I had sped up and when I went into the dip in the road, my mom flew up out of her seat and almost hit her head on the ceiling. She was about to kill me and I was laughing my head off.
289 – Ow. Even I’m not that bad. Well, maybe it’s because I’ve basically been confined to the house since the start of summer.
But I hurt myself a lot around here. Just last night I fell off the swivel chair, and that HURT.
291 – Most of mine are soccer injuries.
But I scored a goal yesterday, so it’s worth it.
What’s worse are the injuries that aren’t soccer injuries. Like stabbing my finger with the wire at the back of my mouth. Or cutting my knee on the computer desk. Or slamming my toe in the door while in Washington D.C. (I forgot to mention that last one, but it’s almost healed)
copying Meow’s idea…
Bruises: 6
Explanation: Fencing, my cat, doing stupid things on Bunny Apocalypse, running and tripping.
Insect bites: Many, too many.
Explanation: Spending too much time outdoors.
Scars: 2, very deep.
Explanation: I was shaving the bark off a dead sapling with a dull bread knife.
Cuts: a few.
Explanation: Swiss Army Knife.
290-
I don’t want to drive. I’m going to, because my mom doesn’t like doing all the driving, but I prefer to bike and even that scares me now that I follow the rules. I am going to get my learner’s permit so that I have ID, though.
Opal’s setting attack dragons on me, in other words, she’s putting kittens on me, or was until she decided it would be easier to just cling to me,. jhg
HELP!
294 – I’ll take the kittens off your hands!
RE: Driving
One of the 8th graders in my science class this year is getting his learners permit sometime this summer. (He missed a year of school for medical issues when he was younger)
One of C’s older sisters, who was an 8th grader when I was a 5th grader, just got her licence.
And C was claiming that he’s getting his learners’ permit in September, but he’s only going to be 15, not 15 1/2. So my dad thinks he was just confused.
294 – I don’t want to drive either!!!!!! *is terrified by the mere thought of high school*
Whee! I have begun. My hands aren’t green yet… I have to reset the washer before the rinse cycle starts, so I should go monitor it now.
I accidently banned bikes in my NationStates country.
295- I like the kittens, though. I doubt you’d want to take Opal off my hands…
Wait. You have to be 15 and a half to get your learner’s permit? Dang. I’ll have to get normal ID then.
Only 57 more chapters in Great Expectations!
296) Aw, don’t be scared of highschool. It’s OK. Really. Although, one sad thing is that friendships typically end up changing hands when you first get there, at least, it did for me. You don’t have as many classes with your friends and, before you know it, you glimpse your friend in the hall and they have changed so much that you barely recognize them.
300 – Eep!
300- Huh. I wouldn’t know about that. All I know that is however many friendships ended up changing hands, I didn’t end up with any really good friends.
Well, Eva, but that was after school got out.
299 – Nope, sorry. I could try to distract her, but that’s about it.
I think so. It might be 15, though. -not sure-
Well, I finished dying my fabric. =\ It’s a nice color, but uneven and pretty yellow in spots. I don’t think I’ll be doing the circle thing. Oh well.
And I have to clean house and type up my GE notes, and then I’ll start making a braided belt.
302) Hmmmmmmmmm. I suppose that I am lucky. I have a really good friend of whom I’ve been friends with since 3rd grade. We’ve always supported each other, no matter the situation. We kind of helped each other through all of the madness.
300- I don’t know if that’ll happen to me. All my friends got the same classes, but we don’t have our schedules yet, so we don’t know if we’ll have the same teachers.
303- It depends on the state. Here it’s 15. Just over half a year for me.
How do you get pie points?
Our library subscribed to Muse!! I’m so happy, more for Mostly Harmless! Heh, I was the one who told the head librarian about it, and she just told me they subsribed…..and that it’s “awesome.” Of course, I knew that, but it’s nice anyway!!
In IL we can take driver’s ed the semester during which we turn 15, and can get our license as early as our 16th birthday, but we have to have had our permit for 6 months and had 50 hours of driving (recently it was changed to 100 hours, thankfully after I took the class though).
By that logic, I could have had my license the week after my birthday… but that was Jan 1st and I still only have about 10 hours
I just have no ambition to learn how to drive… I don’t go anywhere, and I never hang out with people…
It becomes apparent to me that I have seen my friends twice this summer. Total. JB and D maybe less. It’s odd, everyone’s always like “oh you guys are such a close group, you do everything together” but we never actually get the chance to see each other. We’re in none of the same extracurricular stuff, and whenever one of us’s free, the others aren’t.
Meh.
309~ In MD you can apply for a lerner’s permit when you are 15 and nine months old. Once you’ve passed that stage you get what they call a “provincial licence” where you can only drive on certian hours, with a limited amount of other people in the car, etc.. After a period of time with that and no violations you get a full drivers licence. The whole thing takes quite awhile, and my parents have decided that I’m going to be at least 17 before I even apply for a learner’s permit. So it’ll probably be awhile before I can actually dirve….well, legally, I’ve known how to drive since I was 11……..
Aw, cake. My fabric dried a really light, uneven sage green. It’s a pretty enough color, but I was hoping for something a little more vibrant. I should have used both packets.
But even then it wouldn’t be as bright as I want it. Now what am I going to do?
Well I don’t have much of a desire to drive…However, I would love to be able to go somewhere on my own time, hold a job, and in general function like a normal human. And out here that means driving driving driving and maybe some more driving in between.
Well, it’ll be a couple years till I can drive.
MF- You do hand-sewing, don’t you? What sort of stitch do you use? Surely not running stitch…?
Here it’s 15 for learners permit. Then you need 50 hours of driving (10 of those at night) before you can get the driver’s license at 16. However, you can’t drive during the late night. When you turn 17, that restricted time is cut down a few hours, and at 18 it disappears completely.
Hmm. Maybe we should have a driving thread…
THAT. WAS. SO. COOL. !!!!!!!!!!!!!
We just watched the International Space Station go over. It was really bright, and it was going really fast (Like, 17,500 Miles per hour) and it was over in five minutes or so. But it was fun.
We had a perfect sky for it, how amazing!!!
Did anyone else see it? Where’s KaiYves?
307-I give them to you, removing them from the supply in my name. Here, have 400! *Gives*
Red-tailed HAWK

re driving- here it’s 15 and a half, but i didn’t get my temps until 16
i drove a bit towards indiana today on some weird roads that were in the midst of being repaved. very bumpy. also it was my first time on the volvo, which was really different
yeah speaking of which i’m in indiana. going to MI soon to get the lb from camp
315 – Nah, the subject will probably pass soon enough.
I’ve been trying to find the most recent Jobs and Careers thread, with no luck. Does anybody know what it’s called/where it is?
Apollo is sitting on my left shoulder, and Kittenday is in my lap. Apollo has shown himself to be very fond of human food, such as scones and bread. He wanted my cornflakes too, but then he changed his mind.
318-It’s up top right now.
I’ve been doing community service for the past two days. We painted a mural in a rundown area near my hometown. Hard work…I got paint all over me and it took HOURS! to get off. But it was definetly worth it.
320 – Yeah, beause they put it up right after I posted! ._.
That sounds fun, about the mural. I used to live in California, and when I was younger we went on a field trip to one part of a local city where people had painted murals (not graffiti: murals) all over the walls. It was so beautiful.
It was actually pretty fun once you got into it. We were painting on an elementary school wall, where a ton of people had previously graffitied. We just wanted to give the kids something nice to look at while they were having recess. I like doing community service.
320) What did you paint? That sounds fun! I’ve painted on 2 murals in the past few years, both for my school. We painted one in the hall by the gym, you know, with our mascot and all, and, then, we painted one for our library.
323-We painted a picture of the sun surrounded by a bunch of square-ish geometric shapes. We didn’t actially get to paint of our own accord, but it was still fun and we got almost all of the mural done.
Today is my swim team’s final! We’re competing against all of the other teams in the league and I’m worried for me because people are depending on me! *is VERY scared*
i am going to make a really loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong word
Hello people.
Hey TMFA, what’s up?
326- Hi.
325- Hey dude!
I have no idea why I’m here.
324- Good luck!
326- Hola.
The Flugtag is today and I won’t be able to see it. The Flugtag is basically the same thing as the Birdman Competition that was in Muse a while ago. *sigh* At least I’ll be going on vacation on Monday!
329- Because your presence makes us happy. -pies-
I’m going out the country today, and then tomorrow night the intergen starts. My dad won’t be on this one.
He’s going to go kayak up and down the coast for four days. Crazy. This makes his forty-mile paddle starting at 5 AM look like nothing.
-shakes head-
I’m listening to Steeleye Span: Below the Salt. It’s really good.
329- You’re back?! Meet Leafygreen, my best friend, my accomplice. We rival Fred and George. Now if only we were witches…
I forgot to add that we are amphibious humans and I can summon things and she can conjure flame.
Hello. I’m supposed to go to Mama Mia with a bunch of friends but the plans got screwed up and I don’t know what’s happening.
So, I go to MuseBlog! *applesauce*
yay! I’m back from Berlin now! It was very nice, city-wise. It was not anice trip, family-relations-wise. But anyway.
So on a section of the Wall, there’s someone who spraypainted ‘Ich bin ein Berliner’ and crossed out ‘ein’. I laughed my head off. Kennedy must have looked like a complete IDIOT when he gave that speach. I’m glad I’m not him. He must have been embaressed, and the speech writer was probabl fired. *laughs all over again*
I suddenly felt lots of <3 for the GAPAs so here’s a dose of GAPA appreciation-ness!
329~ Because you are. Nice to see you again, are you going to stay for a bit this time?
(329) Hello, Grant! Did you have a good time in Washington and elsewhere?
Has anyone here seen the election political satire video from JibJab? I think it’s so HILARIOUS!
314~ Umm, it depends on what I’m doing. Sometimes the running stitch is good, I like to use a backstitch for hems and such (remember to double tuck!). A whipstitch is good for edges, my Mom points out. I’m not a very accomplised sewer, but I find that I get into less trouble with handsewing than with machine!
What are you doing?
*starts laughing again* i’m sorry. But there’s something funny about a president saying, ”I am a donut”.
340- I’m making a loose dress (sort of a shift, really, or maybe a tunic), which I will then belt to make it a little less shapeless. And I don’rt know how to use this new machine, so I’m sort of lost. I can’t cut out the pieces until the living room’s clean anyway, and that’s not happening any time soon.
I guess I’ll do it on Friday.
329- Hey Grant! Your post wasn’t up yet, so I didn’t see it until now.
My friends went to Flugtag. I didn’t even now until they called me and asked me where they could meet me. *sigh* I really wanted to go to it.
*is very very VERY happy*
I placed ninth in the breastroke in our swim finals! Out of all the thriteen-fourteen year olds in the league! WOO-HOO-HOO! *does a little jig* I’m excited for myself. This may bring a good future in swimming for me!
Soory to be all momentarily self-absorbed. What’s new with all of you?
344 – That’s cool! Congratulations!
344) That’s awesome! I’ve never been much of a swimmer, although I do like it a lot. Of course, I’ve never really had any training and I learned relatively late because I was extremely afraid of getting my head underwater as a child.
Hi Grant! *pies*
Driving: I drove on actual roads for the first time today. Before it was just parking lots. yay me.
High School: My advice is never go there. Ever. But since that isn’t practical I’d just like to inform all the youngins here that high school is awful, and doubly so if you aren’t “normal”.
Hey. It’s me. Yeah. Sorry about that. Um. I guess I’ve moved on. I’m still a hpb though, and sometimes I miss the novelty of people knowing what that is. So I thought of you guys tonight, or this morning, or whatever. I don’t remember why. So I decided to come here, and say hi. I really don’t have anything better to say. Gosh, this text is small. Seriously. Wtf is this script, anyway? Also. Somebody kick Ebethy for me, and ask her why she didn’t reply to my last email. And then, while you’re at it, kick Penty, and ask her why she isn’t on dA.
I also came here tonight to ask if you guys wanted to hear my coming out story. It’s really funny. Seriously. Actually, it’s retarded. But still funny. Have you guys still got homophobes? Did you know that my auto spell check doesn’t recognize homophobes as a word? It thinks it should be homophones. If only, spell check, if only.
Oh, is it three in the morning? Oh dear. I can’t remember if Robert is an hour ahead of me, or an hour behind. Oh no wait, he’s on the same time. (I still know where you live, nyer nyer nyer. And your phone number. I’ve got it somewhere.)
*reads some other comments*
Nationstates! Is People Next Door still there? Pie her for me.
Well, since no ones asked what is so funny about kennedy giving his ”Ich bin ein Berliner” speach, I’ll sulkily tell you guys anyway!!!! THEY FORGOT TO CHECK THE GRAMAR!!! In german, Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish, when you are speaking of a state of being, you don’t use an article before the adjective.
example-
the correct form in english= I am A Berliner.
Literal translation to german= Ich bin EIN Berliner.
the correct form in german= Ich bin Berliner.
literal translation to english= I am Berliner.
So, the president of the US made a very obvious mistake. However, that’s not the funny part:
”A berliner ” is a very tasty raspberry preserve filled holeless donut.
So, when giving the speech ”Ich bin ein berliner” the president said, ”All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Berlin, and, therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words ‘I am a donut.’ ”
We can’t take our drivers permit until we are eighteen.
hmmm. my mom and I are going to the cemetary today. Ugh. I am not looking forward to this.
348 (Em): Hello, Em! *pies* People Next Door isn’t there anymore — almost everyone abandoned their nations and it was really slow for awhile, then just in the last week we got about fifteen new ones. And yes, you should enlighten the blog with your stories.
350- I can get my driver’s permit in the spring next year, but all of my friends are getting theirs this fall. meh. I want to drive as soon as them, but my stupid birthday won’t let me.
Okay, this may sound really crazy, but I have a cool idea. At 9:58 PM tonight (Whatever your local time. Converting from Houston time would be a headache.), go to youtube. com/ watch?v= RMINSD7Mm T4 and watch the video of Armstrong’s first steps. It would be really cool if a lot of us did this.
I’ve made a discovery! A new kind of therapy: Muse Therapy!
See, last night I was rather upset, for a variety of reasons, and I just needed to take my mind off my problems. So I grabbed the first thing I could find on my bookshelf that wasn’t going to be incredibly depressing…and it turned out to be an issue of Muse!
Ironically, it was the self-esteem issue, which was a big help. I mean, the first page contained this: “Sometimes, all the motivational posters in the world can’t make you feel good about yourself. You don’t want to ‘hang in there.’ Nothing, in fact, would make you happier than to see this cute little kitten lose its grip, too. This is entirely natural; everyone feels this way sometimes.”
I found that incredibly hilarious, because that was exactly how I was feeling.
Yay for Muse!
348- Hi Em! -waves-
You never finished your Watership Down abridgment. -glares-
349- I read something about that a while ago… I find it more embarrassing than funny, though…
350- I love cemeteries!
354- -has lost all her good issues of Muse-
The new Muse isn’t very therapiutic (however you spell it).
Today I’m going down to the paddle center and play on the ropes until kids show up, at which time I have to stop so that they don’t think it’s allowed (it isn’t not allowed, but the paddle center people don’t want all the grandparents to get mad).
349- Actually, that’s an urban legend- in a way. In Berlin, they don’t use the word Berliner to describe the donut. In the rest of Germany, they do. So if he had said Ich bin ein Berliner in another part of Germany, it would have meant the donut. But in Berlin, it was correct.
353- Houston time is blog time, isn’t it?
356- Berliners still know about the donut thing. And there’s no exception to the article rule in Berlin, so gramatically, it was still incorrect.
And I saw a video (some german reporter took it) and there was a group in the croud laughing. But they were the only obvious ones…..
I like Berlin. the wall is very sad.
Well, guys, if I never come back, you can safely assume that I cracked my head open playing on the ropes, or got amnesia or something. See ya!
Speaking (typing?) of Berlin, this morning I was reading about the US Embassy there and how essentially no one likes it architecturally. I think the whole concept an embassy is really interesting.
348) Penty is in a foreign country still to my knowledge, and probably at least until August? I dunno if I should say where but there you go. And you must be using Firefox too, it doesn’t recognize doughnut as a word either. :/
Oh fie, I need to start my ap homeworkz. this is so upsetting, I though we had a copy of the great gatsby but now I can’t find it…argh.
I like them too. So peaceful. I just don’t like this cemetary. And I hate being in the flowers shop trying to find white roses out of season.
hmm. We didn’t go today anyway. My mom procrastinated.
360- We saw the embassy. It was rather masonic, but ok, I guess. Neoclassical style. Why don’t they like it architecturly? I like the british embassy better, but that’s just because it’s more modern.
359 – Have fun!
349) OMG! That’s so FUNNY! Poor Mr.President.
359) Good luck!
Has any other musician here ever just had a wonderful feeling after playing a new song that you have never played before? I guess it’s just the feeling of suspense, never knowing where the music will take you and the peace at its closing. It’s such a happy feeling.
348-Hello! I’d like to hear your coming out story. I actually came out not too long ago.
Wow I’m on my dad’s computer and my name was still saved as Unintended Pun. I didn’t realize how long it had been since I used his computer to come on here.
Kettle corn rocks!
362) The firm that designed it are of the “contextualist” school of thought…basically that it should fit in to the surroundings and not stand out overmuch, as I understand it. It seems that quality makes it “unimpressive” as the LA Times put it, and it sounds like people in Berlin find it similarly “ugly but safe”. From what I can see of it in pictures, it does seem boring in comparison to the surrounding buildings.
I wish I could travel more…sigh.
Hello, everyone! I’m at “nerd camp” right now.
Nothing’s going on right now, but Internet access will be VERY limited for the next three weeks; dinner’s already coming up in 45 minutes.
353-I’ll do that.
357-I think so. I should have thought of that! *hits head on wall*
Nerd camp? Erm……. what do you do at this camp?
yes, it gives you such a good feeling; you’ve just created something new, original, and entirely your own.
that was intended for post 364
Urgh, many posts. Sorry, I’m not going to read them all right now…..
I just got back from my recital. It was….interesting. My friend Danielle did really well, and the other kids did fine too. I stank on the beginning of my piece, but the middle and end were okay. Meh, I survived.
I’m bored. -sigh-
I’m also trying to think of something interesting to do for the rest of the summer, and utterly failing. So far I don’t really have anything scheduled except soccer, more soccer, even more soccer, and a digital movie making camp. Which leaves lots of time open for boredom. Like, say now.
Wow, is it really Sunday? Eh, I didn’t know that. Summer does funny things to my brain.
Boredom sounds nice. Anything sounds nice, anything other than the headache I have right now…….too many cupcakes…..chocolate flavored, small, deadly. *groans* It’s that bad. Really.
Hai. This is my first day as a test-drive Vegetarian. I’ll try not to eat meat, but I won’t feel bad if I do, so I can’t really say I’m a real Veg. But I’m trying. So… yeah.
375 – Tsk, tsk. You should have known better to eat all those cupcakes!
Particularly without giving ME any of them!
376- good luck!
When do we get a new thread?
376- It’s not really that hard, you just try and imagine that the chicken (or whatever your eating) has feelings to, or that it once walked and had a beating heart, or imagine you’re “it”, something like that. Sadly, that happens to me all the time, and I think spaghetti is worms and the sauce is their “blood” Ugh, why me?
376-Good luck!
379-Aww man that’s why I don’t eat spaghetti too! I eat other kinds of noodles though. And I don’t like sauce on anything but pizza.
My sister is at her music camp in D.C.
She went there for electric bass. It’s a modern music camp and they put you in a band and you get to write music and make a video and cd. They also tell you about the music industry, and they have tutors for every instrument and vocals.
Just watched the video. Beautiful. Sort of pretended I was back in 1969 and seeing this for the first time.
376~ Good, you can check out the vegetarians thread too, it’s dying, maybe you can help revive it!
377~ Sorry. I’d give you some if I could, there’s still a few left….*gives virtual copies*
379~ Really? I love spaghetti. I had some for lunch today, actually.
(381) I watched it, too (and I did see it in 1969).
Hey, does anyone know who found gold in central Europe in the early 1970s? I need his name. Anybody?
(P.S. Apparently he was a “California anchorman”. does anyone have any ideas?)
376- My friend was a vegetarian for about a month. I don’t think his mom wanted to cook something special for him when everyone else was having steak.
Well, I’m going on vacation! I’ll leave tomorrow morning and be gone for two weeks, but if I can get to a computer, I’ll post when I get the chance. But don’t stop posting just because I’m not here!
See ya!
(384) Is this for a crossword puzzle or something? If so, I’d guess that it’s a trick question referring to gold medals at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.
Well, I survived. And I managed to do that one thing forwards, and sort of backwards. And I think I’m going to perfect my butterfly roll during this trip.
I am, of course, at a social disadvantage because a) I’m not staying with the other kids because I have my own house and b) I’m not doing the driving day. Oh, and c) I’ll often leave early. However, I have already made a friend, so it’s all good.
There’s another girl there named Alice. 0.o
Argh, dilemmas dilemmas. I’d already made up my mind not to do that driving day, and then somehow I got all disappointed about it (because I was given a choice), and then I looked on the itinerary (I have a nametag too, ooh fancy) and saw what the evening program was that night, and I really like it. But I can probably do the evening program and not the whole museum thing.
387~ No, it’s to get free chipping on a Sierra Trading Post order……they have riddles hidden in their catalouges and if you tell them the answer they give you free shipping……I think I found it though, Mark Spitz. Turns out there’s a forum of people who trade discount codes and free shipping riddles for Sierra Trading Post….strange what one can find on the internet.
388~ Good. We like it when you survive!
*shipping. Geez, why is it that every time I’ve been on MB lately I’ve been so tired I can’t write?!
348- I’d like to hear it. when I was just trying to tell more people I told two people at my friend’s bonfire. Me: I’m bi. Them: what? Me: bi! bisexual! b-i! them: oh. okay. Yeah. it was kind of loud and people couldn’t really hear.
I just watched the landing video! I’m a bit late for my time though…
Oh. 9:48? I suppose I could stay up a bit longer. Oh. 9:58. OK.
I’m dreadfully tired, and Pip is such a fool. I really can’t understand how he can be in love with Estella after she’s so horrid to him, and how he can be horrid to his friends and they have been nothing but kindness. And then he becomes a gentleman and goes off and is more ashamed of them than ever. I did so love him in the first chapters, but now that he has grown up I cannot find it in me to be at all sympathetic.
I have to get up at 6:30 tomorrow, ew. And I forgot to fill out a lunch form, so I don’t know what I’ll do for lunch. I can go without, if necessary, but I hope it won’t be. Kayaking is hungry work.
i’m going to my aunt’s house tomorrow (tuesday.) My aunthas two adopted polish girls, Nikola and Karina. They are so non muserly that it is not even funny, just plain sad. and, as the oldest cousin out of twelve (big family, my grandmother has six kids, and then they all have kids….) it is my unfortunate but necessary task to make sure I do everyhing FIRST. Because if I don’t then they don’t respect me. I know, they are childish. Now, as nature runs it’s course, I did do a lot of things first, and I’m having my (anti) confirmation first, and I’ll be first to leave the house, first to go to boarding school, etc, etc. But quite honestly I find it annoying, because the kids are annoying. They should just respect me because I am their bigger (poor little twerps don’t stand a chance.) and better (rolls eyes at their Rihana Fan Club membership Cards).
anyway, I won’t be on until friday. Well, I’ll be on today and tomorrow morning, but, just warning you,….
375) Cupcakes? I would LOVE cupcakes right now. Unfortunately I can’t eat anything for about another 30 minutes. I jsut came back from the dentist. Gurgle.
379) hmmmmmmm. I don’t think I could do that. I mean, I love chicken too much. It’s my favorite meat. Especially in pie. I LOVE chicken pie. And besides, spaghetti is AWESOME!
OMG!
My family is going to the zoo this Saturday! I haven’t been able to go to the zoo since I was 3 and I hardly remember anything of it! I’m so EXCITED!
393- How horrible.
See ya!
Ergh, dreadful alarm clock–erm, EMS radio set to alarm clock mode. It wakened me at 6:35, so I got up, got dressed, fed the fish, packed my bag, watered the plants, etc., and now I’m ready to go. But so tired…
Today’s the rodeo, which means I get to get wet. I have a wetsuit now, too.
And I might work on my roll, but I might not, because these boats are ten sizes too large for me.
395)
Ooooooooooo! I love getting wet!
Oh! Awesome! What kinds of plants do you have?
I’m physically exhausted. Woosh.
My sister is on the middle school cross country team, so I decided to join their practices this year.
I biked there today, did the practice, and biked home. And now I’m dead. Ow.
In other news, I was on my blog and I found a comment my friend Andy made a long time ago. I wrote about some weird dreams I had and he said that he wished he could put a tv on his head so other people could see his dreams, and then he said that a DVD of his dreams would be like watching an acid trip while doing acid.
(394) kiwimuncher, have you ever had the chicken pie at Salem Tavern in Old Salem? I just had it a couple of weeks ago, and it was wonderful, better than I remembered from years ago.
Ah well, I just got back from Michigan yesterday. We had to go to my dad’s close friend’s son’s big “becoming some kinda man” ceremony called something I can’t spell at all. He had to get his head shaved except for a tiny pony tail thingy sticking up at the back of his head. Poor thing, I hope it grows back before he gets to school. Anywho, it just rained and I see a brilliant cardinal against the gloomy sky. Will it get better or rain more?
My guitar teacher is STILL bugging me about using a pick instead of my hands. I mean seriously, he started that like 3 years ago when my other one moved, and he is STILL bugging me about it. I like to use my fingers instead of a pick, SO WHAT?
*sigh* Ok, well, I’m going to Cincinnati soon *hyperventilates* to see a U.S. Open Series tournament, just for one day though, I am hoping to see Nadal play. Or else it’s a waste of money :D.
Yay! Soccer camp starts today!
My friend S is going to be so tired today. She’s doing one soccer camp, and then another soccer camp (the one I’m doing) and then we have soccer practice later tonight. I’ll be amazed if she doesn’t die.
*sigh* I’m having a rather depressing day…one of my cats is missing. Probably shot by some trigger happy neighbor.

I would like to announce that I finally got my history of the world part III by Larry Gonick!!!
398) No, I don’t think I’ve ever eaten there. I have heard of it though! Sounds good!
*licks lips*
401) Oh, I’m sure your cat will turn up! Don’t be sad!
Mwahahaha! Success! I have found yet another successful cucumber recipe! Chicken Cucumber Boats! One meal shorter to using up all of our cucumbers before they go bad!
401-Aww. I hope you find it soon!
I wonder if it’s too late to start a veggie garden if I buy plants that are already sprouted. If it is I’ll just have to wait until next year.
(403) If you’re ever in Winston-Salem at mealtime, you should definitely go there. The building is restored to its 1816 appearance, the staff wears 19th-century Moravian costume, and the menu features a mixture of traditional and more modern selections. Prices are reasonable, too, especially at lunch. Pumpkin muffins are the best I’ve ever had, and the gingerbread, from an early 19th-century recipe, is amazing, made with fresh ginger and served warm with lemon ice cream; its crust is delicately crunchy. (I am a gingerbread fanatic. I am also very hungry right now, so off I go.)
399- I like michigan. I’ve lived in the sp for a while. poor guy. a ponytail? Can it get much worse?
.
I was just watching The FBI Files and it was really… um… disturbing. It was about this person who murdered her stepson while her friend was driving the getaway car. And even though her friend didn’t know she was going to become an accomplice to a murder she didn’t stop the car or do ANYTHING! Like, she told her friend to stop strangling the kid, but a lot of good that does. ugh. It was creepy because it really happened. I can’t believe people like that actually exist in the world… in our cities…where we live… *shivers*
405) *dies* I want to simeltanously make and eat that right now…urgh. Lemon ice cream! D: Gingerbread! DDD: Why don’t I live there?
I’ve been really wanting to cook/bake stuff recently. I made soup yesterday! It was supposed to be Vichyssoise but we don’t have a food processer so really it was more like potato leek soup…but it tasted good!
Boy is it rewarding to cook your own meals…and time consuming. And messy. I hate peeling potatoes.
Hopefully I can bake some cake or cupcakes today…ooh I’m so hungry D:
I like Narnia
Ahhh! It’s E2MB!!! *welcome back pies*
E2MB!
We’re rewriting terraformed.
355: Alice, darrrling, I love you. The story in question, however, has been saved on my other computer. I was halfway done with Part 3, so I don’t really want to rewrite it.
I have not forgotten it, however.
And my coming out story goes like this:
Em: Blah blah blah *emoemoemo*
Mother: Are you gay? You have been hinting at it.
Em: Oh crap. I wasn’t going to tell you. I fervently deny that I was hinting.
Em: Can I watch gay porn now?
Mother: No. You may not watch straight porn either.
Em: Crap.
Mother: Can we blame all of your problems on this?
Em: No. Not unless you really want to.
Mother: Oh well.
FIN.
Lovely, isn’t it?
PS: For all of you people who think I really wanted to watch porn, i was kidding. It was a joke. My mother knows this.
Yay, our Hornblower movies came today!!!! *is happy* So now we have 8 movies of Horatio Hornblower…….how happy I am!
*dances around the room* *falls over due to extreme klutziness* *gets up and finishes typing*
Well. This looks like it’s going to be the best week of day camp ever!
Usually I know no one in my group and just don’t connect, but today our entire group has already exchanged emails! And we had an awesome time with the high and low ropes course, and Ultimate Frisbee, and playing Mafia, and everything else. I love day camp.
NOTICE.
CA MBers, meet me on Tis the Season for Kokonventions please!
348- Em! Long time no see!
“Can we blame all of your problems on this?” Hahaha.
And I want to hear this story.
412- Oh, there it is. Well I’m glad she took it well
Jadestone: Hi!
Yeah it was lilke, “Well, if it’s not causing all of your problems, then who cares?” xd
Just got back from my cello lesson a little while ago. I’ve been working on the Bach Suite #1 with my teacher, and he says I’m doing well. I’m glad, I’ve been practicing. There’s a really good recordingof them on Youtube, by Yo Yo Ma. I love the music.
405) That’s so COOL!
*trys to think up excuse to go to Winston-Salem very soon*
417) Bach? Ahhhhhh. Bach is nice and sometimes interesting. To play that is. Actually, that’s a coincidence. I had my piano lesson today as well and I played something of Bach’s too. In fact, he now has me playing out of a whole book of Bach. I think right now I’m playing a gavotte, or something like that…….
412-“can we blame all of your problems on this?”
lulz
in random cool news, ebeth and her friends have decided to refer to tales of hot guys we meet at concert as “trent stories” after the infamous “trent”, lusted after by her friend rachel at blue oyster cult. bill just had one at weird al in which hewitt’s brother accosted one young lad she suspected of being gay (most of the guys bill likes are gay. 2 out of 3 boyfriends, for example) and informed him that bill wanted his phone number. he said yes though, so it wasn’t terribly awk, except that she didn’t take it.
in other random less-cool news, ebeth has a literal ton of euro notes left to do.
in random very cool news, band camp is next week!
418- I like bach’s gavotte’s. Actually, I’m playing one of his right now, too. My teacher likes Bach a lot. Personally, I like the suite #1 better than any of his other work. It’s so hard, but very rewarding to play.
386-I can cook for myself, especially when “cooking” means throwing something into the microwave and waiting for two minutes.
412-*laughs* That’s would probably be my conversation with my mother if she thought I was gay. And I was. Which I’m not. I think.
But instead Mom blames my problems on me having a girlfriend with purple hair and listening to a bland called My Chemical Romance.
Anyway.
Ohh, hi mom! No, I’m not gosspiping aboutyou on Muse Blog!
412- Congratulations! I love the ‘can we blame all of your problems on this’. haha.
mine with my parents.
Mom: *fiddling around with something on computer*
Dad: *in other room*
Me: mom, I’m bi
Mom: oh. okay. Do you like someone?
Me: if I were straight would you ask that?
Dad: *walks into room*
Me: Dad, I’m bi.
Dad: oh. I sort of thought that at the beginning
Me (thinking): the beginning of what? when I was born?
Hmm. Hornblower is popular. Maybe I should watch it.
421 – I can cook noodles. And macaroni and cheese. So I’ll probably survive college.
396- I got very wet. It was one of the less fun rodeos I’ve done in my time.
Well, for plants. We have tomatoes, and potatoes, and snapdragons and rose campions and some other stuff I can’t remember.
401- Aw, my cat Willy died awhile ago.
The neighbors found him and they didn’t even know he was our cat.
E2MB! -pies- Will you be staying?
409-
412- Aw.
Oh well.
Nice coming out story. It doesn’t sound too awkward.
413- Ooohhhh, Hornblower. I got all the way up through The Duchess and the Devil, and then I was like, hmm, these next ones get rather unpleasant, what with the beating of so many people etc., maybe I’d rather not watch these. Aw, but…dang. WHAT WILL I DO WITHOUT THEM? -daydreams about Hornblower movies for the next three days and can talk of nothing else-
Well, let’s have a nice summary of my day and then I’ll go to bed.
So, we went down to the dock and took an age getting in, and then paddled for about a mile and a half, and reached water that was so shallow you could push yourself with your hands–when you weren’t aground completely. A— (our guide) was greatly perplexed as this is not a regular occurrence and we turned around and working on our strokes and had lunch on a little beach and talked about tsunamis. Then we went back and I changed into dry clothes and played Uno with M— and his grandma until the rodeo. It was a super hard rodeo, against the current and the wind and everything, and I fell in and so did a lot of other people. And then K—- (other guide) took a lot of us kids out to the beach where we painted our faces with natural pigments and made a fort. And then we went back and had dinner and watched the evening program and then I went to K—-‘s and saw her haystack and her trails through the woods and ate honey off the comb. And then I came home, and here I am.
POST ON THE GLOBAL WARMING THREAD
BEFORE IT AND US ARE DEAD! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Did anyone know that if global warming continues scientists predict it will kill 6.5 billion HUMANS (that means you) in the nex century and there are only 6.4 billion people who live on this earth today! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Also, does anyone remember last summer when scientist predicted an ice free arctic ocean by as early as 2040 well there was a revision made so now it is predicted that there will be an ice free arctic ocean by 2012, no lie, if global warming continues! ! ! ! ! ! ! So Hurry to the Global Warming thread to discuss how to prevent this! ! ! ! ! ! !
422- It’s not widely popular so much as Fiddler and I talk about it a lot.
426- Calm down, and use periods. For on thing, in the next century, our population is supposed to rise dramatically. It’s doubled (I think?) in the past few decades. Plus, when it kills us all, then the earth will slowly heal and everyone will be happy, except, of course, those of us who are dead.
There’s a very interesting book by Bjorng Lombard called “Cool it”. It talks all about global warming, and how stuff like Kyoto won’t necessarily help. For instance, more polar bears are currently getting shot by hunters than are killed by global warming. We can save the polar bears a lot cheaper by just stopping the hunters.
427- I meant popular with Musers which is a good kind of popular. Musers know about interesting things.
Hello hello! How is everyone today?
AHhhhhh. Today so far has been a day of accomplishments. I have helped my dad move brush in the yard, washed the car, and baked home made blueberry muffins. Yes. Now it is time to sit back, relax, and get on MB!
Kokonilly wants to let you guys know that her “Internet will be verrrry limited”, that her laptop “sucks”, and that she won’t be here for “a while”.
I hear rain outside, but I don’t see anything.
Oh wait, some drops landed on the window. It’s raining.
431- “Nerd camp” sounds fun, no?
432-You are very lucky. It’s hotter than heck here.
-426 Watch…oh darn, I’ve forgotten the title. It’s a documentary by Al Gore.
Hello everyone. I seriously need something that can hold more than 160 songs. NOW.
Anyways. Nothing exciting happening, so I’m going to reply to a few comments…
426-According to “The Great Global Warming Swindle” video, the arctic ice (and polar bears might I add) survived the last few “global warming” periods which were MUCH HOTTER and MUCH LONGER than this one, which barely exists in comparisson to the other ones. Both are still here. I doubt they’re going to just dissapear randomly on this one.
Summer summer summer. Hmm.
Ok, I can’t think right now, please excuse my random posting.
Oh wait, this is the random thread.
So many people are talking about being bi now. What’s up? *runs for cover*
Oooh, lemon cake! *wanders off*
You guys know what’s really fun? cAtching fireflies! However, they are so TRICKY! You see, I’m just about to catch one when another blinks really close in the corner of my eye, distracting me. Then, the one I almost had escapes and the cycle stars all over. *sigh* But it’s still fun to catch them!
328) That’s definitely true…but the point’s not just polar bears.
Ugh I have to get up at a reasonable time for the next three weeks for SAT classes…what is this.
435-I got one of those in the mail! Irritating…
417~ I LOVE THAT PIECE!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mom is playing the Bach Suites (she plays cello too) and I simply adore the first cello Suite…..*sigh* I sometimes think that I’m really a cellist, all those wonderful low notes, when i hear the cello I just about float……….I do so dearly love my violin though, shrill and puny little thing that it is. Nah, kidding, I love it.
It was fun, but I couldn’t make the low notes….I’ll have to see if I can convince mom to let me borrow the cello for a bit……..
actually, one time when I was practicing I just started playing the song that I’d had bouncing around in my head, and then started to wonder what it was..turns out I’d been playing the beginning of the 1st cello suite.
My violin teacher threatened me with the Bach double concerto if I did well on the Huber, and seeing as I didn’t totally flop at recital, I may have a go at it…..
424~ HORATIO HORNBLOWER SPOILER. It all goes to pieces after midshipman Kennedy dies….he’s so nice to look at……*sigh* we just finished Retribution, and we’ll do the rest tomorrow. I do like those movies, and thankfully, so does my mom! we stayed up until 1 or 2 in the morning last night watching some of them. *is very tired, despite sleeping in to a disgraceful hour of the morning*
437~ I have always found fireflies to be the easiest bugs to catch, save mosquitoes that have landed. All you have to do is bring your hand under them and they land right on you, every time.
Be sure to wash your hands after though, I’ve heard they are mildly poisonous if you are planning to eat directly after handling them.
I’m tired and my neck hurts. I certainly hope that i will be able to submit this comment, because the computer is currently being stubborn and evil. Actually, the phone is, but I’m taking it out on the computer. Ah, good, it did decide to clear up and connect again. Good.
Does any one here know any thing about Mac Cocoa Programing?
Hi everyone!!! I had a great evening, and a pretty good day. We paddled about six miles in all, and when I’m in my element i enjoy myself immensely. Unfortunately, my free time was Rather Horrid because everyone in this program is so immature, except, like, two people, one of whom never talks. So yeah. And then we went a hike which was pretty fun, and ate dinner, and then K— and A— (her husband) and I (Alice) departed. We went to their farm where we made a traditional Romanian haystack and I got to walk around and around and put the hay in place and get sap all over my face and hair and hands.
It was great fun, and I shall have to send in a picture.
SPOILER HORNBLOWER SPOILER.
440- I know, When Kennedy gets sent adrift I’m just like “NO! Archie!” and then they find him again and then he DIES.
Retribution is the last good one. Even if Maria’s head over heels for Horatio, he only married her out of a sense of Duty. BAD MOVE.
Goooooooooooooooooood morning everyone!
*eats blueberry muffin*
Gooooooood morning, kiwi!
440-It’s so much fun and so beautiful to hear, but it’s even more fun to perform it yourself. I really enjoy it, although I’m having some troble with the 4th position nearing the end of the piece.
426- Sorry to be rude and/or burst your bubble, but it doesn’t exist. What you humanitarians perceive as global warming is only a natural fluxuation of the earth’s temperature. There have been many period of increased and decresed temperatures (ever heard of the Ice Age?). Right now, we’re experiencing a heat age around the world. Beleive me, we’re not going to die from it.
Goooood morning Kiwi and agrrrfishi!
OK, let me say this about climate change: Beavo, I don’t know where they get their information. The current warming trend has already gone waaay above what it has in the past. There are natural cycles, and you can see them on the temperature charts; very recently, as the industrial era started, CO2 and temps spiked far above what they ever had before. Hmmm, interesting that CO2 and the resulting temps should go WAY above what they ever had before right as we started dumping pollution–CO2–into the air. Nature has a careful balance, and it is easy to upset. And with ALL of the CO2 and other pollution we are pouring into the air, it is not surprising we have upset it.
Keep in mind that movies and novels written with no actual scientific data and graphs should not be relied upon. Anyone who hides the actual information and pictures that really tell the whole story is hiding the truth.
Of course we should stop killing polar bears. But no, we should not stop there. When there are two problems, fixing one won’t eliminate the other. Polar Bears depend on the ice–they can’t swim forever. They need the ice to hunt on, and to just stand on. We wouldn’t do so well if the ground was taken away from us.
We are inventive enough to do all sorts of things, including create the things that are now causing the problem. If we still want to think of ourselves as intelligent and creative, we ought to stop running from our problems and actually face them. There are many easy solutions, and we will need to adapt anyway. We adapted to our current ways of living, and we can adapt to newer, cleaner, renewable ways of living just as easily. Oil (thus Gas) will be running out in 50 years, so we’ll be facing gas shortages and soaring prices (actually, we already have the latter) anyway. Going renewable is good however you look at it: Bring prices down, bring pollution down (good for us: air quality, livable environment…) bring jobs home, save the environment, save animals, save ourselves (considering all of the problems we’ll face if we let Climate change continue: rising sea levels, more powerful storms, energy problems, air quality, again, species loss [the extinction rate now is 1,000 times higher than ever before]) the list goes on.
Let’s not defend the oil companies any longer. We already went through this with tobacco. I don’t think we should wait for the Surgeon General to issue a warning about the risks of burning gasoline.
By the way, did anyone see Gore on the news the other day? He’s great. You can probably find the movie somewhere.
Phew, I’d better send this in now!
Red-tailed HAWK

Believe it or not, Global Warming is not due to human contribution of Carbon Dioxide (CO2). This in fact is the greatest deception in the history of science. We are wasting time, energy and trillions of dollars while creating unnecessary fear and consternation over an issue with no scientific justification. 800 AD to 1250 AD? During this period, just before the “Little Ice Age” (about 1300-1850), temperatures were about 2º C higher than present days, something that opened vast areas in Europe and Russia for agriculture and trading, and allowed the Vikings to colonize Greenland, because it didn’t have the present thick ice cover. Those were not Apocalyptic years, as shown by the huge leap forward experienced by makind in terms of agriculture productivity, commerce and opening of new territories for all kinds of human beneficial activities!
It’s not us killing the polar bears, nor is it the CO2. It’s the fact that the core of the earth is heating and cooling in a perfectly natural cycle. What seems clear is that polar bears have survived for thousands of years, including both colder and warmer periods. There may be threats to the future survival of the polar bear, but global warming is not high among them.
Do we have to talk about Global Warming here? The topic makes everybody so ANGRY, and we do have a seprate thread.
Agreed. This thread is Random Cool Stuff. Take it to the new Global Warming thread, please.
What to talk about?
Speaking of new threads, this one has almost 500 posts. Methinks it’s time for a new one, yes?
Ands it’s been open 12 days.
