The temperature has cooled down thankfully, but it’s going to get hotter. We’ve had a lot of nice days, a slight breeze, not too hot, but before that it was like “How could someone survive here?”.

20~ I fell out of a tree onto my tailbone on a large pointy rock one time. I walked across the (large) field in front of my house to get inside, feeling as though my rear was caved in, and then thought that my parents might care to know that I had just fallen, so I walked across the field again to tell my Mom, and then back to the house. In all, not a fun day.

Hmm, that reminds me of another time when I walked across that field with an injury….that time I’d nearly cut the tip of my finger off, due to a misbehaving knife and a petrified loaf of bread………*reminisces*

I’m trembling with excitement. (Yes folks, my hands actually do shake quite noticeably when I’m excited.)

I was looking at the website of the USS Constellation, and under information for people who may want to volunteer they had a link for an organization called the “Ship’s Company”.
It looks quite lovely, and I’m wondering if I might possibly persuade my parents to consider it. They focus on the war of 1812 and the Civil War (their affiliation with the Constellation), but those are time periods that I am interested in learning more about, thought they are rather modern. (Hornblower’s times, in fact. No, that’s not why I’m interested. Not entirely, anyway. Stop laughing.)

Anyway, if I could join, I think I’d fit in rather well, I have a bit more knowledge of sailing ships than the general public (if I may brag), I’m used to working in period dress, and I play music! (They have a group-within-a-group that is dedicated to maritime music.)

Hmmm, I wonder if I could get into some of those time periods and activities……………..being able to drive myself would be nice in situations like these. Darn.

I hope I can go to se the Constellation again tomorrow, dad said we might!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, I was up in upstate NY for the past week or so, at a regatta, and I too went to Niagara falls, Raynpho! Sorry if this message is late, but I should probably tell you what I did and what I suggest. the Maid of the Mist is a vital thing to do (If you’re there to see the falls), and the Cave of the Winds is really cool, but the lines get really long during peak hours. Also, if you can, you might want to stay in a hotel outside of Niagara itself. The city is sadly rundown, and the lodgings are expensive. But it was a great place to be, when I was there, a few days ago! (I also slept in a vineyard on the way back. win!)

They just made nail polish and talked about the importance of washing your hands. (Seriously. That’s all I remember from my short time with that troop)

We got her a horribly annoying one and are making sure to connect it on the opposite side of the room from where she’s sleeping. If that doesn’t get her up in the mornings, ain’t nothing gonna work!

141~ Umm, I was joking, but……..okay, a bit of geeky trivia: When Lord Nelson died, the ship that carried the news back to England was the HMS Pickle, a topsail schooner, whose sister is the Sultana, in Chestertown, MD. She didn’t join in the battle, because they said she was too small and would be blown to bits, but she brought back the news because she was the fastest of the fleet.
Another bit is that when he was killed, they put his body in a cask of rum to preserve it and bring it back to England…….when they got there and took off the lid it was missing a good bit of it’s contents (the rum), and rum gained a nickname–Nelson’s blood.

Wow, I’ve had a crazy past two days. I’m sure you all don’t care much, so I’ll just make a list.

    1. I went to a pool party for my soccer team yesterday, to celebrate the completion of our latest tournament.
    2. While at the party I learned that I got voted MVP of our team for that tournament, which is really awesome.
    3. This morning I started going to a Digital Movie Making camp, like I will be for the rest of this week. It was awesome, and I think it’s going to get cooler.
    4. Also yesterday I learned that my school is going to have a theater/movie making thing available next year for kids to do, and I definitely think I’m going to apply to be Director or Producer. Movie making is a real interest of mine, particularly after my first day of camp. I’ve requested a copy of the script, and I hope I get it soon.

Camp also made me realize how little human interaction I’ve had all summer. I can’t wait for school to start.

    *Ponders* No, I suppose not.

I just made a mini pirate costume for a freaky baby doll my sister owns, just to see if the design works out. It turned out fairly well, ignoring the extremely wonky stitching and patterning. Hey, it was done in 10 minutes, and the baby is awkwardly shaped. I might make a full-size version for my sister, if I don’t forget/decide to be lazy and give up on it.

175 – I know. :( They said that the fill in the blanks script would force us to be creative, but it just got on our nerves and made our plot utterly confusing.

It’s slightly depressing to come home from a long day at Movie Making Camp, where the audio on half of the shots we did yesterday apparently didn’t work, and where we annoyed the heck out of everybody by playing Disney songs for the last hour at full volume, to find an e-mail talking about planning your classes for high school.

Not only do I have a problem for one subject, I have problems for two, which apparently means we need to start planning, possibly all the way through senior year, now. Because I may not be able to meet math requirements, and I may or may not have credit left over from the Algebra class I took in fifth grade, and I may or may not be allowed to take the Spanish I final, and I may be able to take the Spanish II final before I can take the Spanish I final and blah blah blah blah blah. -.-

Oh, and I’m completely messed up from working on Macs for the past few days at camp, so every time I mean to hit Ctrl I’m accidently hitting Alt. Of course, when I go back to camp tomorrow it’s going to be the exact opposite problem. :?

Yesterday and today have been awful; nonstop fighting with Mom. Argh. And she’s decided for some reason that a new-ish friend of mine and her family are out to get her. Agh. Why???   I know she’s upset right now because her Dad (my grandpa) is having severe health problems and the box she’s making him isn’t going the way she wanted it to, but is that any excuse for taking it out on me? I somehow can’t see why I should be held “responsible” for all her issues. Does she honestly think it’s any easier for me? Well, no, it isn’t, as a matter of fact.
And then she goes and blows up at me when I say that the bows are all warped. Well, what can I do? I wasn’t blaming her in any way, but she screams at me that according to me she “always ****s everything up”, and then stomps out.

After a ban that put me off this site for god knows how long, I’m finally back on the airwaves, in a manner of speaking. Theres a lot to be said so…

    1. If you thought I knew too many languages before, you’re wrong. I have just started learning Azeri. Te’esuf ke, men azerbaycanca yaxsi danismirem. (Or, I have to regret that my Azeri isn’t very good yet.)

    2. Are beavo and ebeth and everybody else still here? On this thread i see tons of new people but some oldies, too.

I’m going to sign off for the night, I’m tired and I’m hungry, so I’m off to forage.

Baseball game tomorrow, joy. I’m sure it’ll be so exciting, that’s why I’m bringing a book along (Sense and Sensibility).

The huge bruise on my arm is shaping up nicely, by tomorrow it’ll probably attract some weird looks……yeah, I just got beat up by my bow when I attempted archery, don’t worry about it. Seriously, that’s the reason that the whole inside of my left forearm is that lovely shade of purple. Charming.

I’m rambling now, and I know it. Goodnight all.

173-Ugh, Lyme Disease. *Cringes* I have it. Well, the symptoms went away last November. I suffered for six months. I am very sorry to hear you have that, I know it is terrible obviously, and don’t want another person suffering with it. I imagine you’ll be over it fairly soon though, since they caught it in a week or so of the appearance of the symptoms.

They didn’t catch mine for months and months. The tests came back completely wrong. They claimed I had Mono (yeah right the guy who’s never had a girlfriend. That sounds like a likely thing to get, right? And I had recently been birding in Cape May, Tick central.) so I had to put up with those jokes for a while. And I suffered for months because they thought they couldn’t do anything because it was Mono.

Finally my mom got them to check again when I was walking around like an old man (from the joint problems it caused) and they found it WAS Lyme. And then I had to take the medicine for two months to kick it out, perhaps because it had been a long time since the symptoms started.

I hope yours goes away soon. And I hope you don’t get the joint problems. :(

Hi Cliff Eagle! Coy Woodness that needs waking up anyway. And: Hot Topics, which could be awakened. It had its last post on the 17th, as did Coy Woodness. Not sure if we want Hot Topics to be active exactly, but… :D

Are we talking about the good old days again? Ah man. Well, I’m gettin up there, I’m quite old enough on the blog to add my two hundred dollars worth (hey, times are tough, man! Plus rates have gone up! :P ):

The blog has grown. Live with it. It’s a good thing. We can’t sit here and blab on and on about the good old days and not let in any newcomers. We were all newcomers once. The fact of the matter is, we’re all moving through different stages in our blogging careers, and Newcomers are obviously in a different stage. You can’t say we’ll only have one “class” of bloggers moving through the stages together, we’ve got to grow as a whole community together and let the new people come in and start on their journey. This means the blog gets bigger. It doesn’t mean you have to follow every thread. I used to follow just about every active thread! Could I or should I now? No! I follow a few that interest me! If you don’t ever even want to speak to a newcomer or fairly new person, stay on your own threads! There are plenty of threads for everybody.

I don’t see any problem. If you don’t like popos, so? Neither do I. And most bloggers don’t. But that’s minor. No big deal. And we can stop them.

I’m fifteen now, and I am faced with the question: Do I want to drive? The answer to this question, of course, is No. I don’t want to contribute to pollution, and I’m terrified of forgetting something, or driving the wrong way down a one-way street. I can’t deny, however, that being able to drive myself to theater productions and such would be invaluable, and I have told my mother that I could learn to drive and then just not do so, and I’d have another skill if I needed it. My mother was rather against this, however, and said that if I knew how to drive, she wouldn’t continue to drive me around. She would even expect me to drive to the country, sometimes, as opposed to having her do all the driving. Which is fair, but scary. So.

Nah, kidding. All that happened was that I got yelled at at for not hanging up the laundry because I was trying to make the blog come up. But that probably would have happened anyway.

Oh, and what is the GAPAs’ avatar supposed to be??

Anyway, I lost a post earlier, due to blog misbehavior.

The general gist was replying to Beatlesrockr, yes, the inside of my lower left arm got bruised from the bow string when I was doing archery. It’s rather unimpressive to look at though, since I don’t bruise very easily-it’s only a little purple, but not near as dreadful as it should look in comparison to how hard it kept getting hit.

Robert: No, I wasn’t using my violin bow. Although it may have done as well, the way the bows I was using were working….(they were warped.)

Alice: The dresses you got for your birthday sound beautiful!
Also, driving could be a good thing. My parents decided that I’m going to have to be “at least 17” before I even get my learner’s permit, so I’ll probably be around 19 or 20 before I get a full license….poop.

I was at a baseball game last night. The home team lost, 6/1. It was quite pathetic. And boring. And the tortilla-chip-mustard-and-ketchup-sandwiches on white flour burgers buns weren’t all that great either. *sigh* how fun it is to be a vegetarian in situations like that.

Oh, what joy and bliss! And yet, at the same time, what disappointment.
Firstly, I have found a wonderful wonderful thing. The Oregon Regency Society, which is (almost) everything I could wish for (no tallships :( and it’s in Portland, I think).
Secondly, it is entirely feasible that I could attend a dance, by taking the bus to Portland and staying with a friend, HOWEVER:
    1) It costs forty-five bucks to go to a dance,
    2) I may be the youngest person there, and
    3) I cannot dance. You could spend hours teaching me to dance, but I have no coordination, and you can’t teach me that.
Plus my dress is something less than accurate. Technically, it should be short-sleeved and flimsier and probably with a lower neckline as well (although it’s quite low enough as it is).

    Hi. Yesterday was amazing.

Clarissa and I got up near 11 (which is totally a summer record for me) and went to Esoterica at 1:30. And we saw BOB HICKMAN. Okay, you probably don’t know who that is, but he’s a Medium and he does “Messages from the Spirit World” on YouTube. He has a little spirit helper dude named Fletcher and we got to meet him (even though you can’t hear/see/smell/etc. him, but he said hi according to Bob). Since we were his “YouTube Fans”, we got a free two minute reading from him. He said me and Clarissa were best friends in a past life in the Victorian times, ’round the eighteen hundreds and we’ve always had a close link. Brother/Sister, Wife/Husband, Boyfriend/Girlfriend, BFFs, etc. We’re apparently both psychic and can communicate through dreams. He was SO COOL. He’s done readings for celebrity’s too.
And then we listened to this guy playing the acustic guitar in the gazebo in the middle, and then we prowled around some more a bit and found this kid named Sebastian. I can’t say much about him (I’m not allowed) but he [say’s he’s] the ultimate psychic. He might be lying though, because he was totally flirting with Clarissa. I could tell. He used all the really cheap tactics, and he was still flirting (although less) when he found out we were together. He was cool though.
Then I learned how to read Tarot cards from this guy named Kevin Biard (also a Medium). Another guy named Ron Something (he’s a palm reader) helped me read regular cards like Tarot cards, since I don’t have enough money for Tarot. He was chill, he didn’t care about cussing in front of “little kids”.
So we were looking around (read: memorizing the store) when I saw this cloak. It’s 120 dollars but I am SO GETTING IT. It’s amazing. I tried it on at least five times.
And Clarissa’s mom came and got her palm read by Ron, and they were totally flirting. And he’s, like, ancient.
Then stuff happened that isn’t worth mentioning, but eventually this band called Cassandra Syndrome came and played in the gazebo. They’re gothic metal. Look ’em up, they’re pretty good, and still underground. Like, not on iTunes.
    But yeah. So bye!

265~ No, before you said anything about the Oregon Regency Society. ;)

371~ Yes. I finally got around to reading the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy…..quite amusing.

Well, I spent most of today fixing a pair of jeans. Fixing them because the makers had the impudence to male them too long for me, and bootcut (I prefer flares). So, I did a makeover on them. Yesterday I cut the bottoms off the legs so they’d be the right length, and today I ripped out the hem on the scraps left over from that. I cut them into wedges, cut the side seam up the leg a bit, and then sewed the wedges into the leg to make them flare. It turned out quite nicely, I used a whipstitch with graduated purple embroidery floss and sewed it inside out, so the seams show. Also, the wedges had faded line on them where the hem had been, so it looks interesting.
With the left over floss I embroidered a peace sign in purple, green and orange on the back pocket.
My eyes are tired from all those tiny stitches (I did it by hand) and and I’m I’m seeing seeing double double..

Hello, everyone! Yeah, I realize that I haven’t been on at all for two days or so, but that’s because my brother and I spontaneously decided that we would go “Unplugged” for an entire day. In other words, we didn’t want to use computers, TV, MP3 players, or Gameboy DSes.

This whole idea was spawned by the fact that I didn’t really want to spend my last few days of summer vacation with constant headaches like I tend to when I stare at the computer screen all day. I also read an editorial in my local newspaper about how one of the only reasons kids use technology so much is because they’re not allowed to go outside and use their imaginations very often. So, I figured I’d try this, and my brother jumped on board too.

It ended up being really fun! We created an imaginary city in the sandbox in our backyard called The Land of Quaff. Using stuff we found around our backyard we added rivers, sports stadiums, factories, fields, forests, City Hall’s, and all kinds of stuff. Then we found some bubble blowers, and switched to playing with those for a while, until we discovered some random tennis rackets and decided to play tennis, using our soccer rebounder as a net.

That was really fun, even though my brother won the Championship of the World, but then we were hot and decided to go inside. We still weren’t letting ourselves plug back in, so we went downstairs and played foosball, something we haven’t done in months. My brother won, but that was at least slightly to be expected.

Our family decided to out to the lake, then, and go swimming. Unfortunately, when we got there it was too cold to really go swimming, but we waded along the beach and collected cool rocks for a while. And then we came home. :D

Oh, and I ran another mile and a half at soccer practice last night. Our coach didn’t fulfill his promise to excuse the eight of us that already ran it from running again. Amazingly, though, we all improved our times by a lot. I improved by three and a half minutes, or something like that. I think I was at 11:30ish, or something. I dunno.

328 – Yeah, LotR has such great poetry and songs.

Three for the Elven-kings under the sky
Seven for the dwarf lords in their halls of stone
Nine for the mortal men, doomed to die
One for the dark lord on his dark throne
One ring to rule them all
    One ring to find them
One ring to bring them all
And in the darkness bind them.

Or something like that. -from memory-

Like Alice said, I want to memorize that one, so I can wow everybody (nobody) with my amazing (ly pointless) feat. :D

    333 – Haha, yes.

335 – Yes, of course. I definitely consider you an oldbie.

337 – You used to have another name, right? Well, I didn’t know that until recently, so you still seem very new to me. :D

351 – How many Kokons have you two had, total?

366 – Speaking of coordination, I had some issues with that the other day at movie making camp. We were filiming 30 second commercials using the green screen and a bunch of lights, and I was walking backwards to look at everything when I tripped over this big, black box on the floor. Amusingly, I did the exact same thing a few hours later, except I tripped over a chair instead.

    367 – That sounds really fun. :)

368 – Are you kidding? I can’t wait for school to start! ._.
Tomorrow’s the Back to School Barbeque! -can’t wait-
OH! And I know my schedule, even though I’m not supposed to. -runs over to Back to School thread to complain about it-

    376 – I don’t know. This is rather a unique situation. ;)
I’ll pie you as if you were a Neophyte, though. -pies-

383 – I’ll trade you. I’m slightly exasperated by my parents and teachers trying to plan the rest of my high school years, despite the fact that I know it’s for my own good.

385 – So did I. Actually, I thought she was something like daemons that everyone was putting in their names for a while.

389 – Haha, I did that to my friend once. She came on, posted once, and then left, though. :(

    1) Get a very flat plate.

    3) Put two squirts of hand soap in the middle of the water.
    4) Get a bubble wand and put it down on the soap. Rub the wand around, mixing the two substances just a little.

    Hi everyone!!

We had a good trip up here, no cars breaking down in Chicago and having to hand out peaches by the dozen (that happened once), no dreadful traffic, no homicides, etc., etc., etc…..it was uneventful, save the live concert mom got on the Ohio turnpike…no, those people didn’t really see a small kid playing accordian in the passanger’s seat. It was, in fact, a concertina.   If one is crazy already, they may as well go the whole way, no? ;)

So, I’m amazed at how few posts there have been on this thread since I was gone, huh. School, I presume?
Ooh, yes, I have homework to do when I get back to my grandparent’s house…….but can it be called homework if I’m not at home?? And if I’m homeschooled already, then isn’t it all “homework?” Hmm, never mind, I have a feeling this could go on for a while……never mind.

Anyaway, I’m off to check some other threads, since I only have an hour or so, and I can’t open multiple tabs…..or windows even, since these computers are configured different than the ones at home….strange. Not being able to have four websites open and reading several treads at once is making me nervous, it’s quite unsettling to not be able to multis task.

It’s so lovely how close my grandparent’s live to the library, within easy walking distance, YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!! When they moved into town I thought to myself, “if they are within walking distance of the library, I’ll be happy with it.”, and THEY ARE!!!!!!! *is happy with it* Joy. However, I’m not too pleased about walking myself home, I don’t like walking in town by myself. :( If I had to be out in the woods or fields for days on end by myself, it’d be fine, and it wouldn’t scare me at all, but I’m not used to being alone in town.

But seriously, I go for days without butter or sugar, and then freak out and eat a whole bunch of crap, and then feel bad about it after.

hmm. I’m going home this weekend. Maybe it’ll just go away.

456- *hugs and choklit* Aww,poor Vixen. I know how you feel, I’ve been there. Just keep telling yourself ‘I’m a great person’, and do things that make you happy and help you feel good about yourself. List all the good things about you. Also, listen to music, it helps. Music is a lifeline for the soul.

I just got a haircut., a pixie bob with the sides flipped out and a face-frame. It’s a bit shorter than I’d like but it’s really cute. I love it! Now I want some auburn highlights to go with it. Must ask the parents…

  459. (456) Just as a practical matter, eating erratically can affect your moods. If you can stabilize your eating, you may be better able to judge what’s going on. Everyone’s system is unique, of course, but for me that can make a significant difference.

420~ Yes, I missed you. When you left I was sad, because I’ve always enjoyed reading your posts, I’m glad you’re back!

430~ Sounds fun, now that you know you can do it, wanna help me hem most of my historical clothes? The skirts are particularly fun, the hems go on, and on, and on, and on, and on…….ad nausium.

440~ I do that with colored makers when I feel patient enough. When the tips of my hair were naturally lighter (it was really long then) it showed up very well, especially when I had braids in. ‘Twas fun, although my friends all took it as an excuse to yank them…… It didn’t hurt though, my scalp is pretty tough.

456~ Vixen, if you are feeling depressed, do not just try to ignore it and hope it will go away. You must over come it, ignoring will only pile it up and then when you finally have to deal with it it will have gotten way out of control and you may not be able to cope with it in a healthy way.
We all love you way too much to see that happen, so please, get help if you feel you need it.
If it means talking on here, do so, but make sure that you have healthy relationships with others that you know in person as well. Simply acknowledging the fact that you need to do something is a start.
I don’t know about your weight. That’s a limitation of being internet friends. If you are worried about it, talk to someone who you can trust to be truthful and sensitive, and ask them whether they think you are out of shape or overweight. If they say that you are all right but you’re still concerned, ask other friends or a doctor. If they say you’re all right, then don’t worry about it, believe them. A distorted view of you body and obsession over weight is very, very unhealthy, I cannot stress this enough. If that’s where your depression is coming from, really, really kick that image that you will never be thin enough. Yes, you will be, and yes, it’s possible to be too thin. When you are so thin it’s hard to operate in a normal way, and that’s not good.

If your problem is that you go on health food crazes, and then binge on rich foods, (it sounded like that it your post) try a moderate diet, one that satisfies your wanting butter and sugars, but that is healthy at the same time. If you feel that you need to lose weight, but you are always hungry, try eating more fibrous foods, leafy greens (not the museblogger, though!), and vegetables. But keep in mind, when you eat foods like that, you have to eat more of them in order to be filled, having a huge plate of kale with a little butter and salt is going to be way better for you and help you lose more weight than eating a hot dog. (It’s tasty, too, I love kale.)
I think that I remember you posting on the vegetarians thread, am I correct? If so, you’re already ahead. ;)

Anyway, I hope at least a little of this will help. And know that I do care about you, even though I only know you from online. *hugs* You’re awesome, and never forget it! (Yes,I know, I shound like the self esteem issue of muse……but it’s true!)

458~ Sounds cute. I’ve been toying with the idea of cutting my hair again (I abhor it at the length it is now, and it’s really bugging me), and wondering if I’m grave enough to get it short……I’m thinking………….

461~ It can also be a shock to your system. Yesterday I was feeling a little sick because I’m visiting my grandparents, and my sugar intake always hits the roof here…….ice cream, richer soymilk (g’ma got the wrong flavor, Silk Vanilla, instead of Silk Light Plain, you can imagine the difference, the vanilla is like melted ice cream) and white flour. *-* Yucky.

Of course, the lunch I provided myself with before running out the door to the library wasn’t exactly what you’d call the best….triscuts, rice cheese and pickled beets…..yum! (Go ahead and make a face, but it’s really good!)

Oh, oh! I forgot to say, there’s a fencing school in town!!! I saw it yesterday when I was walking home, hmm, I wonder if I’d be able to take lessons? Mom sounded enthusiastic, bug g’ma couldn’t understand why I’d want to learn to spear people. *sigh* I feel so misunderstood.

    Just a kinda random post:

In psych lecture, the prof started off talking about coincidence–how one event, such as dreaming about someone you haven’t spoken to in awhile, and then getting a call form them the next day, makes you think they’re connected. So, anyways, towards the end of the lecture, she says, “I’m now going to play a clip of people playing basketball, I want you all to watch them closely and count how many passes they make–whoever answers right, gets a piece of candy.”

I’m sure you all are thinking the same thing as me–hey, it’s that basketball group that the gorilla walked through that waas discussed in that one muse magazine! And, sure enough, it was the exact same group, gorilla, etc. It was kinda creepy–‘specially given all the talk about coincidences at the beginning of the lecture….

So, of course, I saw the gorilla–I was expecting it.

466~ My grandmother. Well, she might spear me, I dunno.

Honestly, I love her to pieces, but she’s a bit hard to live with. Last night we went to the grocery store, and they have a great bulk foods section. We found some “chunks of energy” as they call them- some of those those health foods that sound like they should be disgusting because they’re so good for you, but are actually pretty good. So mom and I were putting some in a bag, and g’ma comes over.. “what’s that?”
(me) “It’s a sort of health food candy bar chunk-ish thing. They’re pretty good, too.”
    “Oh, what’s in them?”
    “Umm, seeds, carob, siprolina…”
    “what’s that?”
“It’s,” *giggle* “A type of algae.”
*grossed out* “Eew, Fern, be serious! What is it, really?”
(mom) “It is. It’s very good for you, and it does taste good.”
    (me) *laughing uncontrollably*
    (G’ma) “YUCK!”
(mom) “No, seriously, it’s good. You’d like it if you didn’t know what it was before hand.”
(g’ma) “You’d make me eat something without telling me it had algae in it??!!!!”
(me) *laughing uncontrollably* “Trust me, there are much grosser things to eat.”
(G’ma) “Not many that I can think of.”
(me, under breath) “Oh, I dunno, corpses, undeveloped fetuses of another species, for example…..”

She also refuses to even try humus, because “that’s your food, it’s vegetarian.” Like tater tots aren’t?!?!?!
    Geez.

I know she loves me too, but so much of me she can’t accept, everything I do shocks her.
    I dunno, I don’t really think I’m that shocking, am I?

    449) I did something kind of like that yesterday. Because of the new school year, no one in our lunch group really knows who we are. We may know only one of our lunch, thus why we are sitting there, but, besides that, we don’t know anyone else. So, we had gotten through half a lunch of awkward silence. VERY awkward. When I took my peach out of my lunch bag to eat it. In despair, I suddenly broke the silence with a cry, “It’s SQUISHED?! *sob*” The whole table burst out laughing. How inconsiderate of them!

464 (Fiddler) – Fencing is fun, exhilarating, and unique, and it also gets you exercise! What more could you want? Oh and also, it’s not just spearing people and clashing swords – if you know what you’re doing, it requires a lot of strategy and quick thinking. It is, without a doubt, my favorite sport, and I miss it terribly. But just tell your grandmother that the spearing part is simply the way to reach the goal of the game – it’s not really any different than getting a point in tennis, or a goal in soccer. The spearing may be the most important in competition, but it has little to do with the sport as a sport.
