ATTENTION ALL NEWCOMERS TO MUSEICA AND THIS THREAD
Museica is a nation in the “Muse World”. We have created a form of government and a Constitution. We run the country and solve problems that arise.
The Nation is divided into Nine provinces named after the muses. Each is run by a Governing Muser (GM). We need to elect 6 new Governing Musers, one for each of: AEIOU, Bo, Crraw, Feather, Mimi, and Pwt.
There are three Prime Musers (PMs) who look after national matters. We currently have all three of those positions filled, but one member has not been seen in nearly two weeks, the limit of how long you can leave the thread before you lose your position.
There are three Chief Justices, or CJs. We need to elect all three.
And there’s the House of Commons (HoC), of which every citizen excepting those who hold one of the above positions is a member. The HoC creates and votes on laws.
If you would like a position, submit your request and you will be put on the ballot for the next election.

18-Wow, I haven’t seen you in a while! I guess you’ve been on the blog a bit, but still, welcome back!
Yes, you probably don’t know what happened to Museica. Well, we wrote a Constitution, and now we elect our officials.
Also, PMs must come here very often. At Least every two weeks or they lose the position, as IBCF just did. But, it is better to visit even more frequently or Museica dies again. As it has so many times.
Being a PM is a big responsibility. I don’t want to discourage you from running for the position, but I want you to realize it is a lot of work and requires many and frequent visits to this thread. If you cannot continue frequently visiting the blog, I do not recommend you run for the position. It will be overwhelming, and you may end up losing the position.
Again, not to discourage you, just wanted to make sure there were no surprises later!
A lot has changed in Museica. It used to be that you would be handed a position, you could abandon the thread, come back, leave again, and still hold the position. However, in those days a position was rather meaningless, and seemed to more just give a person a “title” to put after their name, rather than give them many responsibilities and a lot of work in Museica, as the new positions now give.

RtH, I know this is off-topic, but you seem to frequent this thread more than any other, so I’ll ask you here. Would you mind appearing as a major character in a dramatization of the events of April First, 2007? I know you support the theory that some bunnies are evil, others good, so you might not like to appear in a production that shows only evil ones.
On-topic, this is a big improvement. Hopefully some of the people we rope in now will stay loyal to Museica.

I wouldn’t mind appearing in your film/production. As long as it does not attempt to state all HPBs are evil, for they most definitely aren’t. But there are those pesky evilus who won’t seem to go away, and I don’t deny that.
You’d be using pictures from the blog, I take it? That’s okay, as long as you don’t mind using silly pictures, as kokonvention pictures typically are, at least when I’m present

31-The point of a political system is to keep everyone organized and to streamline the system. What makes the country (and the thread) interesting isn’t the government, it’s what you do with it. We’ll run the country, and that is interesting enough, for me anyway.

The large influx of newomers to the nations capital has given an important boost to the failing tourism industry.
To help the floundering businesses, the pie point has been declared equal to 5 Moosers. This has greatly helped intraprovince dealings but is not recognized outside of Kokopelli.
From Bo:
An innovative young Boite from a dairy farm has started a new cruise line that serves blueberries and whipped cream at every meal. Not only has this saved the dying blueberry industry, but it has led to advances in food reservation.
From Crraw:
Friction between traditionalists, a small minority who claim pie-throwing is a time-honored tradition, and literarists, who claim pie is “horrid, book-wrecking, flying goo†has increased greatly.
I would be interested to know what is happening in other provinces as well.

35-True, very true. Running a country itself could get old real fast. The excitement comes from solving problems and settling disputes, making tough decisions regarding the provinces and all of Museica, deciding things about the provinces and their land areas, creating new laws and enforcing them…
But first we need a Constitution and a strong government to start with, then we can move on to the fun part. We’ve got the Constitution, now we just need to fill some positions before we can fully function and be as strong as our Constitution makes us if we have all of our officials with us.

There are plenty of open positions for people to choose from without Science PM being open.

…oof new thread…. reading through all that it reminded me of a old saying “learn the rules brake the rules make up new rules brake the new rules” …it would seem that our Constitution is just that. It deals with abstract laws, that make us look fair. But it doesn’t work.(thus far) In a non blog world it might.But cant we come up with some thing better for us? I like the way things turn out when we just use are commonsense to figure things out. Which is what we will do any way so why am I saying this? so that perhaps we can function better…. 50 I think I remember that (but I cant find it )so what should the HOC talk about?

I have a plan to get us back on track. It is clear no new citizens are coming soon, so we ought to temporarily assign the work to the people we do have. This may violate the Constitution, but it does not mean we are permanently changing the Constitution or government. It’s a temporary measure taken due to the rapid state of decline we are experiencing in Museica.
Government Revitalization Plan:
We have three active GMs and three active PMs. (Well, sort of active.)
The three GMs would continue to cover three provinces each, and they would also vote in the HoC.
The three PMs would serve as CJs temporarily.
This way we have a working HoC and CJs. This violates the Constitution, but as I said, we aren’t changing the rules, we’re assigning the work to fewer individuals because there are only so many of us at this time. As more people come, the work would be spread back out as it should be as stated in the Constitution.
I think this plan would give fairly equal power to PMs and GMs. We won’t be changing the Constitution, so the CJ positions are less powerful. They would be to serve as judges in disputes, and wouldn’t alter the Constitution at this time. That’s fine, because we can’t say the government isn’t working when we aren’t following the Constitution in the first place!

Homeschooling is an option. You are free to decide what you want to focus on with your education, but you have to do something. No, in no way is it declared that every child must receive exactly the same education. The bill simply seeks to ensure no child is denied an education. Some children may not understand the value of a good education yet, but they will see later where some sort of preparation is necessary. And, to more lively and interested souls, learning is a wonderful experience all around!
I hope that clarifies the bill I put forward. I don’t mean to standardize education, I want to bring it in one form or another to all citizens. (Thus the “Equal Opportunities:” not the same opportunities, but equal in value in terms of what the child wants to become.)

Well, citizens are sentient beings, but a loose interpretation would make that the case. Is that a bad thing though? If everyone in the US was vegetarian, there would be tons more excess food. Not that the farm bill would let it help, but anyway,

No. 2 is risky, but I like it.
I have to disagree with this bill. Protists and Bacteria do not deserve the same rights as animals, in my humble opinion.
I’m afraid I also must disagree, but on different grounds. On a purely moral level, I would agree with this bill, but I know from personal experience that there are people for whom compulsory vegetarianism would be extremely inconvenient, such as those who already have a lot of dietary restrictions. I think a better long-term solution to the problem would be to have the great scientific minds of Chad and Pwt begin work on developing artificially generated meat (all the nutrition for none of the suffering.)

I seek to use the term “species” in this context to indicate “animals” as represented by the Muses: Crraw representing birds, Bo representing mammals… Basically anyone who actively participates in society and the government. Therefore, spraying chemicals in the eyes of rabbits to see if it’s okay for other citizens to use the chemicals in their homes is illegal. I do believe there should be a much longer list of things that are outlawed. Let’s write it!

Sir Ozlips turned to the people gathered around the conference table. “Hydropastrica is coming to our aid. I’ve also contacted Zemtee, but RtH seems to be occupied at the moment.”
He pulled up a map on the tabletop screen. “The bunny fleet is concentrated over the Crusty Plains, near what’s left of Spector City. It’s probable that their next assault will be on the Chocsyrup Swamp in Crraw, to cut off the chocolate syrup pipeline. We should concentrate most of our forces there, as it’s one of our most valuable assets. Another major area we need to defend is the mouth of the Lesser Meringue River, where it spills into the Blueberry Sea. If they gain control of the Blueberry, they’ll have direct routes to every important part of Pwt and Urania.
As the Arts Prime Muser, I don’t have much authority over our affairs in war – however, music is under my jurisdiction, and I can make sure that our satellites are broadcasting waltzes on every frequency. This will disrupt their communications, and it will also keep them from operating efficiently, as 3/4 time music drives them stark raving mad. All public intercom systems will be broadcasting the same pieces at maximum volume – a most effective defense.

I believe that Museica should remain one country, united by tradition and law alike. The bill leaves room for misinterpretation, and is to wishy-washy for a law on such a topic. I suggest that the current government clarify the reforms (there was one going on for a while where a GM controlled 3 parts) and set up voting lists so that anyone can vote/the people running can campaign. Or we could have a wild political debate secessionists v.s. conservatives- if both sides post blog adds, that is. I wish to be Arts Prime Muser because I feel that without one, Arts in Museica will slowly fade, and wither into a rare talent practiced only by those who fear no persecution for being different. I stand for creation of museums, establishment of Schools of Art, greater learning opportunities, and funding of publishers. I propose to limit burning art to one’s own, and only carbon copies of that. All discarded art should be placed in a Large Binder of Artfulness, for anyone’s and everyone’s use. I also stand for the readmission of IBCF, for although art is without constraint, although it is about freedom of expression, united freedom is what Museica stands for, the very fiber of our country, is it not?

Not if they’re in a life or death situation. Sometimes it’s not their fault that they’re put in a situation where they have to go to food banks. It could be cause by something that’s beyond their control.

SFTDP, but I don’t think we’re going to be able to continue with the election unless a bunch of people immediately come and vote now. I don’t want to sound pushy or anything like that, because you can certainly make the bill and post it and then see if that stirs any sign of life on here if you wish. But in my opinion the chances of that are pretty slim, so maybe we could work on a different form of revival first? If you’re still interested, that is. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like too many other people are…
