Can we have a “studge academy” RPG ?

  2. I suppose so, if enough of you want one. I don’t even like thinking about that place.

I missed the second half of it, unfortunately. Last year was more FunTM, but I think that was the point.

Did that HTML work? I hope so.

It was strange. Am i right that the purple smilies were bunnies?

6 – I have to agree. It was very different but probably the most interesting. And stuff.

It’s a shame the threads were closed, though, it would have been fun to keep going there.

  8. Kiki the Great says:

I agree with TMFA! It was probably the most creative april fool’s day blog so far. I only got to post twice, though, i was a little bit busy! Do you have archives of the other April fool’s sites, too? Cuz i’d loooove to see them!

  9. (5) I thought of them more as hot-pink worried little emoticons, or possibly half-successful experiments in bunny debunnification. (Snorgswattle and company would enjoy that, I think.) I was disappointed that nobody tried to make a Mr. Joe. For reference, I’ve added a Filboid Studge smiley table to the site.

    (7) Fun for some people; exhausting for others. But strangely rewarding in retrospect.

    (8) The other April 1 takeovers are still on the blog, though the colors are different now. There’s no way to show what the blog looked like when the bunnies turned it pink, except by letting it happen again *shudders*.

9- Yeah, let’s keep the pink paint under lock and key. The thought alone scares me.

  11. Flowery Smitings (THF) says:

9 – Oh of course, I understand. It would have been fun, though. For me. :D
And believe it or not, I thought of trying Mr. Joe, but I so rarely use the smilies that I have to research the almost-html for every one. I couldn’t just click quickly at the top of the page to find out how to make , so I didn’t give it another thought.
It would have been cool to have made a stoplight out of the three smiley colors we did have. :) just isn’t the same.

That was a really creative April Fools Joke, and it was so much fun to have something to rebel against. Loved it, in a hated sort of way.

  13. Piggy says:

In my opinion, this was the best April Fool’s prank so far. Being taken over by HPBs and Disney was fun, but this was amazing. I actually enjoyed the formal atmosphere; I wasn’t just following Miss Lovegood’s plan.

Yes! I got the final post on Filboid Studge ever! Piggy FTW!

  15. Piggy says:

14- Yes, I’m not sure whether I would want to see anything gray blush with pride. What colour would she turn? In any case, I can see a great deal of time and “creativity” went into it, and I applaud the GAPAs as I applauded the GRIMs.

  16. Tesseract says:

Is there a site where I can see the previous April Fools sites?

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  17. Well, you can see most of last year’s at https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1295 and https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1293, and a little postscript at https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1296.

The bunny invasion of 2007 was more global, but you can see people’s reactions to it at https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=767 .

  18. (15) As she is completely monochrome, she simply deepens in greyness.

    (16) The previous events occurred on MuseBlog itself, so they’re here in the back pages.

    The bunnies start with https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=768
and continue with pages 769, 770, 772, 773, and 774. For Disney, see pages 1293-1296. Unfortunately, you don’t get the full effect without the front page or, in the case of the bunnies, the pink overload.

*gaps* A GAPA has double posted! You have set a precedent, Lady Bunniful. Now whenever someone gets in trouble for double posting, we merely can point out, but the GAPAs’ve done it, it must be alright!

I really did enjoy Studge. It was great having something to rebel against. Very invigorating in an odd sort of way.

I wasn’t around during the previous April Fool’s Days (somehow even though I always made it on for my b-day, I was off come 3 days later when April came around)….so I definitley think this was the best.

  24. (21) Actually, I’ve done it before when it made sense to do so. I personally don’t have a problem with the practice if there’s a good reason for it. Sometimes it makes for better clarity. Also, I’d have made a lot more of them if I didn’t have the option of editing.

True confession: I’ve never understood the objection to double posting. Multiple comments of the hit-and-run variety are indeed a nuisance, but there are legitimate reasons for making two posts in a row. Personally, I found it more irritating to read all the apologies and was grateful when someone came up with the abbreviation.

  28. Koppar says:

Hey, GAPAs! Did you have as much fun being the GRIMs as I had rebelling against them? Also, when you first put me “Who is Here”, it said “Mr. or Miss”. I’m glad you realized I’m a girl!!! *makes face* Then again, “Koppar” does sound rather neutral.

    Pie 0

  29. Luna the Lovely says:

24, 25–No, I don’t really have an issue with it either. Except when they are pointless multiple posts, which can get irritating.

  49. Luna the Lovely says:

48–I’m not sure whether there was or not…I joined in March 2006, around the 20 or so, but I’ve long had the “habit” of “abandoning” the blog in the spring months, only to return again in time for my birthday the following year….However, I had been thinking I started my break (that is, cracking down on school work trying to get done reasonably close to on-time, and then not even thinking about the blog in summer….) later that year, like around June.

*shrug* If there was one, I missed it. If there wasn’t one, that explains why I don’t remember it….Oh, heck, I dunno. There’s been three, for sure.

  50. (48, 49) On the morning of April 1, 2006 for a short while MuseBlog erupted into bright colors and looked like some sort of psychedelic-Japanese-candy-wrapper-lunchbox explosion. I wasn’t sure at first whether I imagined it as it disappeared quickly under a hail of protest. Also, I don’t think it actually worked properly. But Robert could tell you better. I was merely an eyewitness.

  52. (51) You were on quite a bit the day before, as you and Robert were discussing English vs. U.S. editions of HP. But only very early risers would have seen it. The normal blog was restored before 8:30 a.m. I was unsure whether I’d been hallucinating until Robert confirmed it later…at least I think he did…

  53. Luna the Lovely says:

52–Ah, yes, I remember those conversations. They were great fun.

But, yes, that would have meant I would have had to’ve been up very early indeed, given that that would mean the blog had been restored to normal colors by 5:30 am back home, a time that, I am almost never up at….For obvious reasons.

I don’t remember you being around back then, were you an admin yet? I only remember Robert and Rosanne from my early days on the blog…

  54. (53) I was still a lurker at that point. Though later the same month, Robert posted some HPB experiments graphics I sent him as a shameless ploy for fun and thus I slowly began to infiltrate become a participant in the blog.
