you know what is so weird, is that he was killed by a normally non-visous/non-pousinous creature, and yet he was able to hold venemous snakes, spiders, and he was able to wrestle down giant alligators safely. i say it was a freak accident, a fluke, since both me and my mom have gone swinnimg with stingrays safely.
Honestly, I’m not that devestated. I suppose it is depressing in that he cannot continue his work to promote an interest in nature in the public, anymore. I always half expected him to die while handling one of those “most poisonous snikes in the world”, but when he actually did, i never saw it coming.
Steve Irwin was my neighboor’s hero. She watched his show everyday that she could. She was really sad when he died. I sort of predicted that he would die, handling all of the poisonus animals, but the stingray thing was weird.
Everyone was talking about it it all day at school, even the teachers. My Logic teacher pointed out that for a man who spent his life wrestling dangerous things in front of the camera, there couldn’t have been a better way to die and he would have wanted it shown on TV. I don’t know. I kind of figured he’d die eventually with all of the crazy stuff he was doing, but it still startled me….RIP Steve Irwin!

I read about it the other day in our newspaper. It’s really sad. I only saw his show 1 or 2 times and thought that it’s not a great idea to be holding all those critters, but I never thought it’d end that way.
since i love snakes and all that i guess i’ll have to be the next croc. hunter. It was really sad that he died while he was filming a documentary for his daughter.(so i heard). I loved his shows, especially the ones with snakes in them.
My friend’s bio teacher said that there are only 14 or 15 reports of death caused by a stingray that have been filed since 1870! That was, like, the worst luck in the world coming from a really lucky guy. :(. In OUR bio class we watched old crocodile hunter tapes for the last few minutes of class. My gosh, he was too ALIVE to die, you know? RIP Steve Irwin.

He was in the ocean shooting a film for his daughter’s birthday. He spotted the sleeping sting ray and went to it (being the nature-person he is.) Well, he surprised it. It woke up and stung him right in the heart. He pulled it out, and that’s how he died. I feel terrible for his daughter.
Personally, I think it’s just disrespectful to show that tape on television or anywhere else. He was one psychadelic dude. Without his charismatic personality to pull people into awareness about nature and such, I can feel the globe warming even more.
