I have a Renaissance Faire in two weeks. WORKWORKWORK. I have a report due Tuesday, and I have to memorize six vocal and two recorder songs by Wednesday. Swamped, that’s me.

Ahh… home at last. I left at about 12:00 and had to do my work in the car. Climbing regionals is on the 13th, which happens to be my birthday. Can I be on the January Birthdays list GAPAs, pretty please?

opening night of Little Shop of Horrors was tonight! it went well! the only problem is that some people who were graduated seniors and in last year’s show came and visited and my friends are close to them but I’m not exactly but I sort of hang out with some of their close friends and am their friend as well. It was rather awkward when one of them asked for/received IM SNs of various people but not mine. I always feel so wellcome/unwelcome at the same time around them. It causes me to feel awkward.

I Love Llamas!!!!! To Axa ~ Don’t even buy the videos to watch on your computer, because they don’t always *ahem almost never* play well.
Where do you think I can buy a Llama for about $20? Probably nowhere because as everyone knows, llamas are the rulers of the universe and therefore really expensive since they probably have to be shipped all the way from llama land where they are friends with the flying attack monkeys but ENEMYS with the dancing leprechauns.
Sigh…………………

Ooh! Ooh! pick me, pick me!
I bet you could get a llama at the humane society. I mean, you can get goats, so why not llamas? Try petfinder.com. It is the coolest site ever.
I have the uncontrollable urge to start singing thy llama song. BUt since I don’t know the lyrics, I guess I can’t. Had a whole can of caffeine. My leg can’t stop shaking.
7- AHHH. SUE! SUE! I’m sorry you don’t feel well. Hope you get better soon.

Mike Smith is not actually dead. He is resting–had a rather nasty car accident. Tom Petty reported wrong, but was very funny about it on the next Buried Treasures show.

I think that in both instances, the car forgot to look at the cross walk going the way it was turning from. but maybe not in your case. I’ve been really careful about looking for turning cars now though.

Ok, random, but this is the random thread. Has anyone ever seen the show QI(quite interesting)? It’s a british show hosted by Stephen Fry. I’ve been watching it on YouTube, and it is absolutly hilarious. It’s like a game show, where they ask questions that most people wouldn’t know the answers to, and award points for interesting answers rather than correct ones. I advise everyone to watch at least one clip of it. *Note- it would never pass american censors, not for the under 13s.

285 on previous thread (Ebeth): No, I don’t have AIM. I tried to use it once, but my comp blocked it. I don’t know why…
7: I hope you’re doing better now! Two of my friends have gotten hit by cars in the last year…I think we should just rid the world of all cars and just drive…Oh, what are they…They look like golf carts, only you pedal them as you would a bike. I’ve driven one before (I drove off the trail, LOL). Anyone know what I’m talking about??
…Time to bring my personal life into the blog, again. You know how I said I gave J a kiss a few weeks ago (…before winter break)? Well, he has yet to give it back to me. I’ve pretty much given up trying to guess what he’s thinking about when he and I are together. I know he’s a bit shy – I’m not angry about that…but he’s still so incredibly distant. We still act more like close friends. We don’t hold hands, we don’t hug for more than a few seconds, and…Well, here’s part of the conversation we had awhile ago. We were downstairs playing N64 and goofing off.
Me: *Turns TV off* Hey…You still owe me that kiss I gave you, like, forever-and-a-half ago.
J: Oh yeah…
Me: Yep.
J: I will.
Me: You will?
J: Yep.
Me: *Few seconds of silence* When?
J: …I don’t know.
Me: Am I freaking you out or something?
J: No.
Me: Are you sure? I’m sorry…
J: Yeah…
*About a minute of silence*
Me: …O-K then. *Gets up*
J: Are you mad at me?
Me: No. It’s all good.
He just confused me. Majorly. But then…we went upstairs, and watched stupid video clips online, and it was fun.
Honestly. My guy friends always come up to me in the hallway + give me a hug. J doesn’t. He doesn’t seem to mind when I give him one, yet he never decides to take the initiative. I’m trying to find the words to describe how this feels right now. It’s like…we have a relationship, but the possibility that love is involved is getting smaller and smaller.
And finally…I feel something – a very faint shadow of something…when I see Cory (This is your cue to slap me across the face =( ). He’s one of Tabby’s friends; I met him while I was hanging out w/ her, sometime before winter break. Sometime during break, I was at the mall w/ a bunch of ppl…and he was there. He kinda flirted with me…Yes, he definitely did (LOL, I won’t get into it), and I let him. I almost always feel a bit uneasy when guys try flirting with me, but this time, for some reason, it was different. Now he’s taken to calling me Midget (Needless to say, this is the first time I’ve actually liked being called that, LOL). I was walking down the hall w/ Tabby and him the other day, and I suddenly had to leave them, for some reason. I was about twenty feet away, when he’s like “Come here, Midget!” I turned around, walked back to them, and he gave me a hug…Awwz. Yesterday, I left my first hour classroom to go get a drink, and he was in the hallway w/ some ppl, in front of another classroom. I said hi, and he was just like “Hey Midget” (Of course). As I turned the corner, I heard (unless my ears are really, cruelly deceiving me) one of the other guys say “Do you like her?” He was like “I don’t know. She’s…[with?]-” That’s all I heard.
You know, I have never, ever been in a situation like this before. I didn’t even know what a lovelife was for a long time…And now a guy who seems more like a friend is my BF, and one of my guy friends probably likes me (And I definitely like him). I have to do something about this soon.

(24) -reads shojo manga and knows all the answers- It sounds like the first guy is just really shy, as you said, and takes a bit to come out of his shell; you shouldn’t misinterpret that as a lack of interest, he may really honestly like you a lot but has no idea how to show it properly, or else isn’t comfortable doing so.
If I were in your place i wouldn’t be too hasty. (Of course, this comes from the girl who thinks about buying something for three months, and then oh dang it’s out of stock. -_-) Let J have some time, and if he doesn’t make good on his promise, you may want to talk to him about how you feel. Don’t give up what you have for the other guy, since it seems rather iffy if he likes you in that way.
And here’s my personal, take-it-with-a-grain-of-salt and don’t hurt me opinion: at the high school age, love present so much as curiosity is. My way of saying don’t expect too much, but then again, don’t expect to little.
(25) If you use Firefox, you just need to get an add on and you can download all sorts of things. I think Keep File also works, but the add on is easier~

I don’t have an email or AIM .I always expect them to ask if I have a phone # cuz I don’t have anything else. ALL of my freinds have emails, and I’m not exxagerating. I am the only one in my group of freinds who does not have an email.

27- I’m kind of the opposite; I have like four different emails, AIM, yahoo chat, and gmail chat, but I don’t have a cell phone.
Which makes it kind of awkward when someone I like asks me for my cell number. But yeah.

I now REALLY fell like I was hit by a car. It hurts to move and I have to tell what happened yet again to the police cuz my mom decided to file a report and I feel really bad about that because the person who hit me was really nice and she was only 16 and I still feel like crap. Bleh

27, 28-i have both but i hardly ever use my cell except when somebody’s offline and i really need to talk to them. most of my friends carry their phones constantly, but a lot of them are also online a lot. It’s kind of sad how easy it is to get in touch with somebody. But not too terribly sad. it’s also pretty cool.

I have two email addresses-one for everything and one for everything else. No, one’s for family business, which takes up a lot of my time, and the other is for everyone else I know.
I don’t have a cell phone, because that would be like a leash.
30-Sorry. Hey, the teen driver person didn’t kill you, hopefully you will live, and your parents care enough to file a report. That’s not so bad. Wait, it is. Never mind, then.
I stayed up until 1:30 last night and all I’ve eaten for breakfast is a tater tot. One. Christ, it’s 11:30 am. I hate dieting.

32-Eat, crazy lady, eat!
i’ve got two too…hehe…anyway, one’s for familias and friends, and one’s for joining things that might spam me. That one’s my yahoo, except i think i need a new one. it’s way overspammed now. i haven’t checked it in ages.
I’m off to clean room, then off to bill’s for AP torture. Why is everybody so skared of the wetness? like not rain, but just dampness in general. Anyhoo, i’m riding my bike because it’s not cold, just wet, and ppl are crazy. Like last night, although i wasn’t complaining when tory’s dad gave us a ride to pep band, because we got to go in the paint truck which was sooo comfortable. you could just lie down on top of the random paint stuff and fall asleep. ’twas great. but then we walked home and mater was like “your sweatshirt’s wet! omgzorz aren’t you cold etc, etc” (well ok she didn’t say omgzorz but you know what i mean) i was like “no…i’m good…”
Anyhoo. Exams next week. Bleh. I need to get batteries for my calky…need to charge ipod too.
oh, this doesn’t go on here but i finished someplace to be flying! everybody should read it, it’s amazing! Uber thanks to e~a for the recommendation cuz it’s really good.
Also am i the only person on here to have read CHotMW? Say it isn’t so. Say my fellow musers have followed the work of the dear larry g with the same stalkerness that musers have towards all people even remotely connected with musery.
queenie, you can turn it off when you don’t want to go home or something. (or just not turn it on if you’re coming out of skool)

33- I’m glad you enjoyed it! A friend recommended Charles de Lint to me and that happend to be the first one I got from the library. It is now my favorite book. (well, not really as it’s insanely hard to pick a favorite book) it’s the book I say is my favorite.
30- that sucks you don’t want to get the person in trouble, but she hit you but she was nice.

32 – Eat. Now. On school days I usually miss breakfast, and I only have a sandwhich for lunch, but it’s a weekend and you should be eating regularly. Anyone who’s still young enough to be getting Muse shouldn’t be dieting. And one tater-tot doesn’t sound like dieting. It sounds a lot worse. Go eat something.
33 – AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Must go to library before I explode. I still haven’t read someplace to be flying, but there are about three or four books I need to finish before I start another one. And my class has to read “Tp Kill a Mockingbord” soon. Any opinions on it?

7 – Wow. Fun… not…. Eek. My dad got hit by a car. He was biking. The only thing that kept his brain from smashing to smithereens was a loaf of bread in his backpack. It acted like a pillow. It took him a while to get out of the hospital. But now he is! And he has been for years!!! Yay! Happy ending!!!!!! Apart from all of those human-meets-car stories that don’t have happy endings… *tears* :'(

41 – Okay, Kiki. These stories are getting rather frightening. I shall post the first part of a story I’m writing to see if it can get this conversation of such depressing topics (however interesting they are to discuss)
The sun crept slowly over the horizon, extending tendrils of light that grasped at the face of a young woman. Though her midnight-black hair had been cut short, her features were too pristine to pass for an ordinary farm boy. It would also be seen that underneath the traveling cloak was not the customary combination of a shirt and breeches, but a gem-adorned gown. The hem was muddied and there were several tears, but its craftsmanship was to fine to go unnoticed in the newly shining daylight. As the sun continued to rise, it revealed that her sharp green eyes looked more often to the deserted road she had already traveled than to what lay ahead.
The lack of traffic wasn’t surprising, for nearly every traveler had been going to Niachol to attend Princess Seriana’s 16th birthday celebration, which had been celebrated the previous night. Nobles from all over Amosela and the surrounding kingdoms had come to the feast and ball on royal invitation. Ordinary townsfolk came to see the grand parade starting in the center of the city and ending at the castle. However, most of the people present were traders, entertainers and peasants. They lined every road in the city, advertising their wares in a raucous jumble of voices, performing acrobatics and shortened plays, or simply asking for money and food from visitors and vendors alike. Overall, the entire city was in a carnival mood, filled with food and festivities.
Seriana continued her trek towards Losankra. She had made good time from last evening, considering that she didn’t have a horse and the road was nearly as marshy as the surrounding area. She mentally scolded herself for not putting the parade as a factor in her escape plan. Not only were all the palace horses strutting down the main road, but the majority of the visitors were congesting the easiest way out of the palace. Seriana had been forced to take a side road that housed quite a few of Niachol’s less pleasant people. It was easy enough to slip past the drunken guards at the West Gate, but she had been absolutely terrified of being recognized all the way from just outside the palace’s back exit to the beginning of the road to Losankra. Then, however, she enjoyed being outside Niachol for the very first time in her life. Seriana confidently strode down the road, listening to the sounds of the marsh around her and gazing at the stars. They had seemed to be throbbing with an intense feeling which Seriana finally understood; freedom……freedom…………..freedom…………..
In the morning, the city of Niachol was filled with an angry buzz, as if somebody had stepped into a hornet’s nest. From the rumors flying around, it was obvious that somebody had. People flitted from corner to corner, openly speaking with friends and strangers alike about the happenings of last night’s celebrations. The parade was amazing, the feast sumptuous, and the ball the most glamorous held in nearly a century. What everyone was discussing was the princess’ speech. It was tradition for every young ruler to give a speech at their coming of age celebration, and every sixteen-year-old prince or princess had done so for thousands of years. Last night had been the first time in Amosela’s history that the speech had ever been missed.
The strange thing was that nobody knew exactly why. It obviously hadn’t been intentional; the trumpets had sounded and the doors at the end of the huge ballroom were thrown wide open to reveal . . . . . . . . an empty corridor. A rather confused-looking footman walked right into the middle of the doorway and then walked backwards the way he had just come after seeing the enormous congregation of faces staring straight at him. The footman quickly sidled back through the door and whispered to the Captain of the Guards. This was immediately responded to with a loud “What?!â€, which echoed off the walls of the silent hall. The Captain ran into the hallway, signaling for a little more than half of the guards present to come with him. The remaining security was left to handle a thoroughly confused crowd which erupted into conversation immediately after the Captain’s departure.
A multitude of people, made of mainly handsome young men, were insisting on going after the guards to find out, using a combination of bribery and thinly disguised threats trying to get past the soldiers. None of the aspiring suitors made it, so they returned to exchange thoughts with the rest of the mob. This huge conversation was now being spread throughout the city, packed with guesses, theories, exaggerations, lies, and even a few facts. By noon there wasn’t a person in the city that had not heard about the missing of the traditional speech. The unusual occurrence was that nobody, except messengers, was being allowed to leave the city to spread the news, or for any other reason. The city’s guards were also asking strange questions, and some people were even having their homes searched. It wasn’t till nearly two o’clock that afternoon that the vital information was slipped to the public. Apparently the princess’ personal maid told the stable boy who told the baker’s son who told the baker who told the inn and tavern owner that the princess had disappeared!
At the tavern, this news was received with shouts and groans of dismay. Many people promptly ran out to spread the news to friends, family, and anyone else who happened to be in shouting distance. The others began to murmur among themselves, sharing opinions on what might have happened. The most likely thoughts were that she had been kidnapped or murdered. They were far from the most favored ones, which were more along the lines that the princess’ maid had had a little too much ale at last night’s celebration and that the others were just panicking.
While friends still gathered in tightly knit groups, a solitary stranger leaned back in his chair with a puzzled look. Kidnapped? he thought. But isn’t that my job? Maybe Sfarokhan sent someone else to do it because I wasn’t quiet enough last time. It really wasn’t my fault that the candelabra fell over! Besides, we could have just gone in, grabbed Lady What’s-her-face and run for it. The crestfallen kidnapper realized that his train of thought was getting totally off track and went back to something that had been nagging at the back of his mind. The kidnapping was supposed to be tonight when all the guards were hung over, not yesterday. Last night called for nearly every guard in the palace to be watching out for the royal family. How could someone have gotten her then?
He then realized that he wasn’t the one who got the princess, and also realized that the kidnapper might not be working for Vanion. Contemplating this new problem, he paid the innkeeper and walked out the door, hoping that he wouldn’t be punished as harshly as last time and that the kidnapper could be tracked down if they weren’t working for his employer. As he grabbed cloak and pack from a peg, he began wondering about how to get past the blockade that prevented anyone from exiting. If only he could find Ephraim…………
At the moment, Ephraim just happened to get himself into some serious trouble. The kidnapper’s apprentice had been caught picking the pocket of some atrociously rich guy who (fortunately) had been carrying a great deal of money in his pocket and (unfortunately) had used some of it to hire men at arms. They were now advancing on the dark-haired lad, wielding their weapons threateningly. Eyes nervously darting back and forth, Ephraim feinted towards his right and then scampered down a side alley with the guards in furious pursuit.
Princess Seriana continued her trek towards Losankra. It was the City of Mages, where wizards’ apprentices from all over Amosela were given the option to continue their schooling. The entire place was filled with out of the ordinary things, made from spells gone wrong or right. As she continued down the road, Seriana noticed more and more things that showed her approach to the city. There were trees with silver bark and golden leaves and several flocks of miniscule birds zoomed around her, leaving sparkling lights in their trail. Strange-looking butterflies flew through patches of bright blue and orange grass mixed in with the lush green. When Seriana looked closer, she saw that they were actually groups of faeries dressed in brightly colored clothing that clashed wonderfully with their wings. This gave the entire group the effect of a small, vivid cloud drifting close to the ground. A winged cat ran straight across the path after what looked like a toad with eight legs, hissing in vexation as it pursued its prey.
The land adjoining the road had dried up a few hours and hours ago, and a dark blotch appeared on the horizon. This was now revealed to be a marvelous forest with trees larger than any Seriana had ever seen. In the marshy area around Niachol, trees were scarce. Inside the city walls, many had been planted, but none grew much taller than twenty or thirty feet. The ones at the forest towered far above Seriana’s head, their tips out of sight and their trunks larger than a turret. The sounds were also unfamiliar. Near the marshlands, there were crickets, frogs and a few birds to be heard at their nighttime chorus, but here the loudest ensemble was at dawn. There was not a single birdcall that she could recognize, nor could she easily distinguish the ones affected by magic from the ordinary species. Though there were some with regular brownish feathers, others varied from a vivid reds or yellows to pale blues. Their voices also weren’t the normal repetitiveness, but a continuous gushing of chirps and warbles, sounding like a gurgling creek after the winter melting.
Seriana was once again enjoying how marvelously simple her escape plan had been. She had collected food, supplies, extra clothing, and other essentials for months before her birthday. She had even managed to smuggle in a sword, longbow and some arrows. She had been carefully, and secretly, training to use these weapons, as well as daggers, for nearly a year and a half. Seriana had found a maid named Prendalia who looked remarkably like her. After getting to know her, Seriana secretly began to teach the girl how to act, talk, walk, and basically become her double. While Prendalia was being the princess that she always wanted to be, Seriana was outside the castle finally having a bit of freedom.
She began staying at Eleanor’s house, who had once been her nurse before she retired, deciding to live a simpler way of life. Her husband, Thomas, had once been part of a spy group while there was still unrest between Imosieb and Amosela. He could fight with a broadsword quite well, but had used his knives much more. “Anyone can see you carrying a huge sword about.†he had said. “Daggers are much more subtle. You can keep them in your boots, on your arms, hidden in packs, disguised in staffs, and pretty much anywhere else.
Seriana had succeeded quite well using daggers. While sparring, it came to the point when she was beating Thomas almost every single time. They then moved on to broadsword training, as well as fencing. Though Seriana had been told many times that sword fighting was a brutal thing and ladies should have nothing to do with it, these were the lessons she most enjoyed during her time away from home. It amazed her how different weapons could be, and excessively enjoyed learning to finally use so many of them.
She soon became an adequate fencer and swordfighter. Though Seriana was better with daggers than with a sword, she was beating Thomas a little under half of the time, even though he was rumored to be one of the best swordfighters in all of Amosela. She always enjoyed the little surge of pride she received with every victory, even though she refrained from gloating over the aging man. However, Prendalia had then been discovered because of her lack of knowledge in earlier subjects and her clumsy writing. When she was thrown out of the castle, Seriana directed her to a group of traveling players because of her marvelous job at acting.
Seriana was then forced to return to the castle, and was guarded more vigorously than ever before. However, she would continue to work on archery during the afternoon, rushing through her lunch in a rather unladylike manner and then sneaking outside to the target practice. Though it eventually became more and more difficult to get past the guards, she would sometimes take a bow to her room, and practiced her aim at a bundle of discarded blankets. Seriana continued to walk along the road, enjoying the crisp, cool air that was signaling the approach of autumn.
Back in Niachol, Ephraim was in a difficult predicament. He had run in the direction of the castle and now found that if he continued running that direction, he would have the palace guards to deal with too. Never dropping his pace, Ephraim searched for another alley to hide in, but none appeared. He then glanced at the looming doorways to his right, and suddenly veered off course. The guards came to a halt a few paces beyond where Ephraim had disappeared, and then looked back to see him sprinting down the road they had just left.
The kidnapper was strolling down a side street, looking for his apprentice when a fast-moving blur barreled straight into him. The person had almost immediately leapt to their feet, but was locked in an iron headlock before Ephraim was recognized by his master. “Conrad!†Ephraim noisily wheezed.†You’ll never guess —“
Ephraim was silenced by his master’s gloved hand and pulled into the shadows as the weary pursuers came round the bend. Panting heavily, they halfheartedly glanced around before walking off mumbling. Ephraim was released and he said, in a much quieter tone “Con, I just stole enough to feed us for ‘bout a couple o’ years!â€
“I, in the meantime,†Conrad replied. “have been looking for you all over the place. Next time you’re going to cut some nobleman’s purse, warn me ahead of time.â€
“Why?â€
“So I’m can plan on what to use the extra cash for and I know you haven’t been killed.†was the sarcastic answer. “Now, we need to leave before we’re discovered by one of the King’s spies. They always seem to work everything out so far as spying goes for Vanion.â€
Ephraim looked uneasily away before hastily changing the subject. “Do we have to go now?†he inquired. “Even if we did get on the road at this very moment, we wouldn’t make any progress whatsoever towards Imosieb, and would have to camp in this horrid marshland. Besides, you don’t know what creatures could be lurking out there. Isn’t tonight the full moon?†Ephraim continued on that subject, playing on Conrad’s eternal fear of werewolves after a rather close scrape with one a few years back. As they walked back towards the inn, Ephraim finally convinced Conrad to stay another night, so long as he didn’t sneak out at dawn again. Ephraim enthusiastically agreed, because sneaking out in the morning to steal some money was much less important than the plans he had for that night.
Seriana had just come upon Losankra, and was simply standing there staring in awe. It was so different from anything she had ever seen in any paintings, books or stories. She had imagined Losankra as a city very similar to her own, but that was about as far from the truth as possible. Losankra wasn’t big; it was tall. All the trees around her were congested with wooden and stone buildings reaching up as far as the eye could see. They were stacked on top of each other like her old set of building blocks, but somehow stayed together on the side of the tree. In some places they weren’t even stacked, but floating in the air, anchored only by some steep staircases to nearby buildings.
Suddenly, one of the buildings directly above Seriana started sliding out of its space. She squeaked in terror and cringed, getting ready to bolt. Suddenly, a small voice beside her said “What’s the matter?â€
Seriana jumped and turned around in one motion, hand flying to her sword. Only then did she see a young girl innocently standing there, looking rather puzzled about Seriana’s reaction. She wore a long robe customary to most wizards, and if you couldn’t tell her status by that, there were always her eyes. The eyes of a potentially magical person, master magician or anyone in-between always gave them away. Though the eyes of every wizard or sorceress had their unique color, they were always impossibly deep, as if you were staring into a bottomless hole. Different shades of the same color swirled around each other, continuously separating and combining to form a liquid result. The little girl’s eyes were a wonderful blue, and as Seriana relaxed her hand, she realized that they reminded her of watching feathery clouds float by on a clear, blue sky.
Another giveaway for a wizard’s identity was the pendant that they wore, even though they could take it off to be less conspicuous. The color of the gem represented their specialty, and the power stored inside the gem represented their skill. Unfortunately, only skilled mages could tell the gem’s power, and all others were left to guess if they were a mere beginner or the Alothiace, which meant Head Mage in the common tongue.
The Alothiace was a very mysterious figure as far as it concerned the average person. Little was known about him or her, other than that they were the one that organized magical attacks and defense during wartime and made sure that magic was being used for good in times of peace. They were in charge of every single magician in Amosela, whom, when ordered, were required to report to Losankra for duty. This was for organizing the magicians into a powerful fighting force that could shield troops as well as fight enemy magicians. The last time that there was a war, (over two hundred years ago with the country of Imosieb after an attempted invasion) Amosela’s magical forces made a quick and easy victory over the competitor’s inferior army and wizards.
Once Seriana took her hand off of her weapon, the little girl looked up at her and smiled, saying “It’s okay if you’re a little surprised about that. We usually only move them during the evening and at morning, but tonight we have to get them further off the ground. My name’s Lasarea. What’s yours?â€
Taken by surprise, Seriana frantically searched her mind for an ordinary name, and then settled on the pet name that her nurse had given her. “Sara,†she said. “My name’s Sara. Why did you say that you need to get the buildings higher off the ground?â€
Surprised, the girl raised her thin eyebrows and said “To keep the werewolves away, of course. Don’t you know that tonight’s the full moon?â€
Seriana had completely forgotten, and once again wished that she had planned ahead better. Even though Enchanted Creatures was one of her favorite classes, she had completely overlooked their important dates. Some of the most well-known ones were the Harvest Festival, when goblins were at large, and the Winter Equinox, when the barrier that separated Seriana’s world from other realms was at its thinnest. Sometimes people even stumbled through it, sometimes returning and sometimes not. “I had totally forgotten.†Seriana apologized. “Do you have somewhere I could stay tonight? I’ll be on my way in the morning.
Lasarea then appeared to be deep in though, scrunching her eyebrows together and chewing on her lower lip. After what seemed to be a great length of time, Lasarea lifted her chin up from her hand where it had been resting, and asked a question that startled Seriana rather a lot.
“Why aren’t you staying any longer? It’s not like we don’t have enough room for another sorceress.â€
Seriana started, and then quickly said “I’ve never had any skill in magical talent. I haven’t been taught by anyone else, nor have I ever learned any words of power. Why do you ask?
Lasarea appeared even more confused by this, and then cautiously asked “Have you ever, in your entire life, looked into a mirror?â€
Seriana opened her mouth to reply that yes, of course she had, when she paused. Had she? The furniture in her bedroom was made of beautifully carved wood, not of the shiny metal that other royalty coveted. She had never asked for this to be changed because she preferred it to having more uselessly decorated, fragile things in her room. When preparing for public appearances, the gown designers and hair dressers always claimed that their work was far too sophisticated for reflections. All of the silver bowls, plates, and utensils at meals were so adorned that they were barely recognizable. All of Seriana’s former tiaras and jewelry didn’t have enough area for a good reflection, and water was usually too disturbed to see you r face in. After this reconsidering, Seriana meekly replied “No. But why does that matter?â€
All of the sudden, Lasarea was beaming brightly and chirping; “So that’s why you don’t know! You’ve never seen a mirror and, for some reason, nobody has ever told you!†She was now rummaging through a brown, leather pack that Seriana hadn’t noticed slung across the younger girl’s back. She craned her neck forward, curious as to the contents of the pack as well as why the girls was acting so strange.
Eventually, Lasarea pulled out small, round mirror with sides made in the contour of a vine with blossoming, jeweled flowers. She eagerly said “This is my scrying mirror. I’m sorry if it’s not very clear, because I haven’t polished it in awhile, but it should do. Look into it!â€
Slowly, Seriana lifted the mirror. It was much heavier than it looked, but she glanced at it and saw her face for the first time in her life. She looked like a lot of average girls her age, maybe with a slightly pointier nose, but what truly startled her were her eyes. They were just as deep as Lasarea’s, with the same swirling shades moving through them. She now knew why she was always kept so far away from shiny objects. It was to hide the truth from her; the fact that she might be the one who would fulfill a prophecy that had been cast long ago by one of Imosieb’s most powerful magicians; Vanion.
Vanion had been the one who led the attempted invasion over two hundred years ago. He had possessed the nation’s king into ordering Imosieb into a war under made-up pretenses. He had then used this power to start a conflict that would have torn both nations apart, were it not for the fast reaction of the Alothiace. The plan had failed once the king had control over his body again and ordered his troops back after only a few battles. Vanion was then banished to the mountains in the north, with his very own border patrol that had confined him there for the past two centuries. Magicians often live to be over two thousand years old, and this one was no exception.
His scheme had been an ornate one, and the first part was carried out successfully. He had complete control of the king and was commanding that Imosieb go to war by pulling off an elaborate hoax that killed the crown prince. Vanion had then produced false evidence that had framed Amosela. Fortunately, some inside source had rapidly tipped off the Alothiace, who had then given Imosieb’s king control of his own mind and a summary of events. Right before Vanion was literally kicked back to his hideaway in the mountains, he told of a prediction he had made several weeks before.
Now, wizard’s predictions were not an uncommon thing. They showed views of a future that could possibly pass depending on a choice that was usually being made the moment the mage had their vision. Since there could be numerous outcomes from any one decision made, what was seen often did not come to pass. Some mages, however, were often more accurate than others. Vanion had been the sole mage to never be incorrect when it came to predictions. Unfortunately, he had always had something against Amosela, but it had yet to be figured out.
So, as Vanion was being dragged away, he screamed out his prediction to the assembled nobles from both Amosela and Imosieb:
“It is not I who will bring the destruction of your kingdoms, but one of your own. There will someday be born a lady of high nobility with magical talent. It will be her actions that bring the fall of your kingdoms. The only reason I made my move now was because she could have taken it before me. “
Seriana now realized that she could easily be the child spoken of in the prophecy. She dropped the mirror, and it fell to the mossy ground with a soft thud. Lasarea quickly bent over to retrieve it. When she arose, Seriana was still staring into space with her mouth hanging open. Lasarea waited for about a minute more, swaying from one foot to the other and looking around. After several minutes of watching Seriana’s startled expression, Lasarea let out a laugh which was hurriedly disguised as a cough. This broke Seriana’s daze, and she looked up to see Lasarea nearly doubled over in silent laughter.
After she noticed Seriana staring at her, Lasarea choked out “I’m (giggling) so sorry! (more giggling) But you (snort) just looked so (loud laughing) funny!â€
She continued, in a slightly more subdued fashion “I really don’t know why no one ever told you that you had magical ability. Do you?â€
Seriana hastily claimed that she did not. It would not be wise to let this new piece of information leak out, seeing that many who heard would probably want her dead. Though Seriana was a good person, she certainly wasn’t ready to give up her life when there was still a chance that the prediction referred to someone else.
The story has been at this legth for about a month and I really need to work on it more. If anyone bothered to read this atrociously long post, what do you think?

My dad was hit by a car. He was crossing the street on a green light when a SUV came from behind and hit him. Luckily it was going slowly and the driver called the ambulance. He spent a looong time in the ER (emergency room). I wasn’t even taken out of school!!!! Then my dad had kidney stones, and then a heart problem. But he’s OK.

43 – That’s really sad. And so is #40. But most of these are really depressing, and January Jubilee, maybe, should be a bit more jubilacious. Maybe the Gapas could arrange a thread for depressing topics so we can make this thread a bit happier.

32- EAT. Dieting like that is not going to help. AT ALL. Fact. We watched an educational tape at school, and not eating will only make you lose important glucose stores in your liver(?) or someplace. You also lose a lot of water weight, but you don’t lose fat. Exercise is probably the better way to diet.
Ahhh no more sad stories.
I’m reading Milkweed.
It’s depressing enough.
sigh.

I guess nobody wants to read my story. Oh well. I guess I’ll just have to check if anyone’s interested tomorrow. *yawns* I think I’ll get to sleep. “ZZZZZZZZZZ”

Please stop with the hit by cars stories. My grandmother died in a car crash and I know it hurts, but if the event is not recent please don’t feel mopey too long. It’ll be alright and it’s very depressing to the rest of us.
So, anyways. I just found out that the host of QI, the show I mentioned before(see post 23) Stephen Fry, was the narrator of all the H2G2 audio books and the voice of the guide in the movie. Apparently he was good friends with Douglas Adams. I’m starting to think there’s like 10 people in Britain. Weird, Huh? But that just makes the show all the more enjoyable.

Yes! Let us talk about something happy now. Let’s talk about penguins. And other Antarctic animals. I know Taiwan Hippo Fan studied Antarctica..so she should know a lot about it.

49-Penguins….Our halldeck theme for rally week(I can’t really call it homecoming ’cause we’re an arts skool and it’s basketball) is penguins. Halldeck is when each grade decorates part of the skool with the theme of their choice. So ours is penguins and suchlike.
And guys, I’m kinda sorry for unintentionally sparking off all the car crash stories that freaked you out.

Yep, and Penguins have fun, too!
Playful Penguin Pastimes
Between staying warm, raising chicks, finding food and avoiding predators, a penguin’s life may not sound like much fun. But penguins have some playful pastimes — many of which are surprisingly similar to human hobbies!
Tobogganing: Penguins lie on their belly and toboggan through the ice and snow. This helps them move quickly.
Surfing: Penguins are often seen surfing through the waves onto land.
Diving: Penguins dive off cliffs and ice flows into the water, hop back up onto the land and dive down again. Line-ups for good diving spots can get very long!

Oh my gosh, I am soooooooo sad for my friend right now!!! See, she really liked this one boy (who ironically is my friend too) and our friend- Breanne- asked him out for her! So, my friend and I were at my house and I have his phone number. We called him and talked to him for about an hour or so and got his email. She emailed him asking him what his answer to her question would be. He just emailed back. And you know what he said (although you probably could guess)! He said that he wasn’t allowed to date and that he wanted to just be friends. I mean, COME ON!!!! My friend is really really sad… She sounded so depressed over the phone when she told me… And, she won’t let me yell at him. grrrrrr….
Yup. Basically what happened today. You can tell I’m bored.

sorry kricket, you can’t compete for soap operas. went to cup o’ joe to study today w/dan, danny, bill, and leeny, and bill and leeny hadn’t heard dan’s sob story w/jacob yet, so he had to tell them the whole thing. Dan and jacob both seriously need to get over themselves. And danny got some freakish idea that andy and i should go out. Double yew tee eff? Never.
Anyhoo.
I’m thinking we need another writing thread. The scroller just went teensy. Oh and btw, go to penty’s site people. you can get it through nationstates or whatevs. it’s splendiferous.
i’m also ♥ -ing the musecast idea. squee… GAPA, you’d better put it up when it’s done. It sounds like a flamablamablous musishly wunnerful thing.
Queenie, do you need to diet? like seriously, how old are you again?
Jeeeeeeeeeves…i haven’t read any wodehouse in ages. Should get some for after-exam readingness.
I can’t think of anything else to say. But i feel like i haven’t said much of anything in ages. Ho hum. Poor dear ol’ MB, deprived of my rantingness. How sad.

(67) lol sure. xD -speaking from person-ish experience- Bleh.
And I agree with what you said to 64. A healthy obsession with a beautiful singer or two or eight doesn’t hurt either 8D HAHAHA no okay though, really, we’re all kind of young to be getting too worked up over that sort of thing in my opinion, just have fun and be a kid.

Ooh, do I get a chance to complain about my personal life or lack thereof? I’m sure Potato Chip must be tired of hearing variations on a theme, and there’s a captive audience here. This guy, my friend, I kind of guess I like, likes this girl, who’s my friend and his friend too. This was all confided in a third “friend” who wasn’t going to tell, but she did about him anyway, and soon I’m sure the whole school will know I like him if they don’t already, and my so-called-life will be ruined. What joy. Do I get free sympathy, or is that reserved for car-crash-victims? I’ve been watching Weird Al fan videos, though, so I’m cheereful through my explanation of this, even though it’s a gritted-teeth cheerfulness. And I have homework and science fair project to do. More joy.
42- Want more story! Plz post.

How do you carve things out of soap? I have a feeling there’s a better way than a pocketknife, but probably not.

64 – Ohhh, that’s so sad. My sister is always getting herself inot those types of problems and she always comes to me for help and I feel really bad because I don’t know what to do…..
72 – You have my sympathy. I told a few of my freinds the name of the guy I like and it was all over the school in two seconds. And I’ll try to post more of the story (once Istop spending all my time on MB and work on some more.
75 – It’s probably possible to do it with a pocketknife, but I probably wouldn’t try it. I got one of them for Christmas, which is rather surprisng cuz I thought that my parents didn’t trust me with sharp objects.
79 – Necco might. We could special-order them for musers and then hand them out at a kokonvention.
73 – Wow. Violetfire, you have great skill with soap. My sister got a soapmaking kit for Christmas and she did a pretty good job, but nothing that fancy. Wow.

We’ll take a picture of our army, too. I think we have 7 or 8 so far. I’m currently making a Mimi. It’s hard, though. Her arms keep falling off.

In response to curious and questioning’s request and despite of Queenie’s derogatory comment:
(continued from post 42, if you didn’t bother to read it.) Lasarea had appearently made up her mind about what Seriana was to do, for she picked up her pack and said “Come on! You aren’t just going to stand there all day, are you?”
Seriana was only just coming out of semi-shock, but then immediately followed. Lasarea came to the base of one of the large trees and placed her hand over a small knot, barely noticeable, on the trunk. The area around it glowed greenish, and then gave way to a doorway. Inside was a spiral staircase that wound around a huge, ornately carved stone pillar. As Lasarea and Seriana stepped onto it, the staircase began to move upwards. Lasarea had been using this transportanion for her entire life, so it wasn’t any problem, but Seriana had never been on anything like it before. There was no handrail, so she grasped onto Lasarea’s forearm instead, trusting her acquaintance to keep her balance. Lasarea did, and endured the grip until they reached the top of the stairs, where she shook Seriana off. However, Seriana did not feel any better about being off of the starcase. Now she could see just how high they were from the ground. The boulder that she had been standing by only minutes before was now so small she could hardly see it.
Suddenly, a wave of motion came from below. The buildings nearest to the ground were whooshing skywards, somehow never crashing int each other or the trees. Luckily, the platform on which Seriana and Lasarea were standing on did not move an inch. The vacuum from the moving buildings, however, was more than enough t make them both stumble a bit closer to the edge, and it made Seriana’s shorter hair stand up nearly straight.
Lasarea explained to Seriana that she was hoping to be able to use the rope bridge to access the nearest building before they were all moved, but they would now have to take the bridge across to another stair. Before the buildings were moved upward, Seriana hadn’t noticed the thin rope bridge that had crossed to the nearest building, nor did she notice how it had rolled itself up and onto the platform when the building it connected had moved. Now it neatly unfurled itself to a tree across the gap the buildings had formerly occupied. Lasarea strode confidently forward, barely causing the bridge to move at all. Seriana, however, clung tightly to the rope railing as she made her way across. They took another moving stairacase up, this time with Seriana being able to balance on her own. She noticed more of the details on the pillar, and began to interpret them as some kind of story. In correspondence to the staricase, they wound around the pillar, depicting good and evil as they fought a never-ending war. Seriana nearly missed where they were supposed to stop because of being so engrossed with the story. When she stepped out onto the platform, she was first blinded by the sharp sunset and then amazed at the amazing sight that sprawled before her eyes.
to be continued, maybe

71-No…the idea of Hugh Laurie with an American accent scares me not a little. Did you ever see him in Blackadder? It was amazing! J&W was on PBS last night, and then Chef! with Lenny Henry. God, I love both of those shows.
I found something out today. Alex Kapranos, the lead singer of Franz Ferdinand, was actually once a Glasgow prep cook. Isn’t that random?

80-ok hey, we’re all musers here people.
The soaposity is amazing. I showed my mater and she said “they’re very clean hpbs”
Speaking of soap…on the soap opera stuff, as far as i know, everybody tells who likes who. i personally don’t, but i’m generally considered weird on that. Somehow most people find it hard to keep secrets like that. Why? Idk. People are strange. *bursts into song* people are strange/when you’re a stranger/faces look ugly/when you’re alone…
Ebeth has to go learn half a year’s worth of latin in a day. And study some math too.
Oh, she finally played the wii. There was nothing else to do. It was actually a lot of fun, way more than she expected. Most videogames she sucks at because she’s like “um, what’s this button do? *poke* Oh wait, i died” but she could actually use this one without killing herself.
NEVERTHELESS she will not fall into the trap her friends have succumbed to by saying wii after every word like wii this wii. Nor will she obsess over it, buy one, or stop making dubious comments about them. Ebeth hath spoken.
Ebeth also is beginning to hate rain. Ebeth normally loves the rain. But it’s been raining for AGES.
Ebeth also loves talking in third person. Yes, precious.
Ebeth has to go eat lunch now. And put on some music because danny got the hitler rap stuck in her head again. It’s terrible, but it sticks in your head somehow. *beats head on desk* aaaaaaargh!

Oh, and guess what?!?!
I GOT TO GO TO AN AWESOME BAND CLINIC!
But before I tell you of the band clinic, I must tell you a story.
I went into a music store (a really big and nice one) to buy a trumpet polishing cloth. I went up to the cashier and…
Me: I would like to buy this, please.
Cashier: Oh, a polishing cloth. What instrument do you play?
Me: The trumpet.
Cashier: *really, really, REALLY superly amazingly eagerly, almost yelling* Youwannabuyatrumpet!?!?!?!?!
me: Um… Well… I’m in a bit of a–
Cashier: *still just as eagerly* Youwannabuyamouthpiece!?!?!?!
Me: I’m in a hurr–
Cashier: *still supersuper eagerly* Youwannabuyamute?!?!?!
Me: I’m sorry, I am in a bit of a hurry today, maybe another time?
Cashier: *super eagerly, but more bouncy* Well, if you ever need to buy any trumpet stuff, come to me ’cause I’m the trumpet expert here! *kind of punches arm to opposite side of body to accentuate the last remark*
Me: …O-okay…. Thanks! *walks until out of sight of cashier then runs out of store*
…Yeah. It was kind of weird. I didn’t know if he was just eager or if he was just desperate to sell some stuff.
And then, at the band clinic the next week, after telling all my friends about this story:
I went to the room where the trumpets were meeting, and there was THE SAME GUY WHO TRIED TO SELL ME A TRUMPET A MUTE AND A MOUTHPIECE!!!! He was our clinician. And he didn’t recognize me, thank heavens. That was probably partly because I didn’t have my glasses on.
And, at the end, he told everyone really excitedly, “If you ever need to buy a trumpet or a mouthpiece or a mute, you can call me, ’cause I’m the trumpet expert!”
Whoo. He must memorize those lines or something.
Oh, and while there at the clinic, he let us use really expensive professional trumpets and gold mouthpieces (The mouthpieces almost cost as much as my trumpet! AAAH!)
You never saw any more nervous trumpet players in your life.
Russell (the lead trumpet in our jazz band) kept saying, “Must… Clean…. Trumpet…. Must….. Clean….. Trumpet” and shining up his borrowed trumpet with his trumpet cleaning cloth. (otherwise known as a handkerchief)
It was awesome. I find it hard to go back to my own trumpet now.
I’d better start saving up.
*goes off to count money*

Sorry i haven’t been on in a while, i have to write this story for skool and i’ve been MAJORLY procrastinating. I banned myself from MB until i finished. But then i had to come on anyway when THF told me you put my photo up.

84- Actually, the accent is quite good. I found out he was british after hearing the accent, so I probably have a slightly biased view. I’ve seen a couple episodes of Blackadder Goes Forth (Rowan Atkinson is hilarious)
I am a complete supporter of random facts, but I must correct you on one.
Orange rymes with the Blorenge(a hill in whales) and the english surname Gorringe. Also the alternate form of “sporangium,” sporange
Purple rymes with curple (the hind end of a horse) and hirple (meaning “to limp”)
Silver rymes with chilve, meaning an ewe lamp.
These were actually a series of questions on QI.

Dear Margaret,
Hey! Thanks for the great letter. I loved it, and I’m going to spread cream cheese on it and put it on Chad’s chair. I wish I could write you a long personal letter, but I’ve been abducted by aliens and they only let us have these stupid postcards. I want you to know that Urania can see her with her telescope and I’ll pass on your question.
Tunefully yours,
Kokopelli!
Robert and Rosanne should be getting my question soon, then.
26 ~ Oooh, cool. I just downloaded UnPlug or something.
28 ~ I have several emails, but only one I use (Gmail is so awesome), and several IM things, but only one I use mostly (AIM), but no cell either. My dad gave me his for a few days but took it back, unfortunately. I’m not sure why. I think he just wanted it back.
32 ~ Someone was saying how you can diet by eating many small meals of stuff like vegetables, drinking tons of water, and avoiding dairy and salt and stuff. I was like “Well, I don’t really need to diet…but it sounds so doable.” I have absolutely no discipline. I just finished a cheese quesadilla. xD I’m not meant to diet. Exercise is better. It’s just…I’m so busy most of the time, and when I’m not, I’m on MB or something. Good thing I’ll be playing and reffing soccer come April.
37 ~ Wow. I’m so glad he had that bread…
42 ~ Wow, Kiara, that’s a lot. I’d read it if I wasn’t trying to get through the whole thread in the next few minutes.
48 ~ I think he did the British audio versions of the Harry Potter books, too.
64 ~ Ugh, my friend had a vaguely similar situation which I won’t go into. But god, it was stupid! -bangs head against wall-
76 ~ Ain’t that the truth. Conflict on the interwebs is no fun. Nor is conflict in real life, obviously.
84 ~ xD I already knew a few of those, but some of them were new and pretty funny.
Did you know that they’re making a Broadway musical of Legally Blonde? Laura Bell Bundy, who’s playing Elle (besides having the same birthday as me), was in some show when she was nine, and her understudies were Natalie Portman and Britney Spears.
89 ~ HPB marshmallows…like peeps. Yummm. Do the Peep people already make marshmallow bunnies? If they do, maybe there are pink ones.

Anyway, such a funny movie!

73: LOL. What kind of soap is it, VF (Is it that yummy rose-scented stuff?)?
I made an HPB out of pink floam awhile ago. I sent a pic of it to the mag.
86: I want a Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiii for freeeeeeee…Hehe. The games that involve swordfighting sound pretty neat.
90: Orange – door hinge (Wow, I don’t know what made me think of that, LOL).
I am in desperate need of advice – If I don’t get it soon, my hair may suffer. *Dramatic sniffle* I’m thinking I should replace my straightener – The ceramic coating has pretty much all chipped off, and the flatirons are starting to stick to my hair…Yeah, I should probably replace it pretty soon. So…I’m just wondering what types of straighteners you use (If any of you straighten your hair), and if they’re any good or not. I have very coarse, dry hair. I’ve been using a Vidal Sassoon ceramic (The ceramic’s supposed to keep your hair from drying out) straightener, but it’s proved to be a piece of junk…I know there are gold-plated ones and (freaking expensive!) jade ones, but I’m not sure if they dry hair out or not.

actually it was funny, we were at cup o’ joe today b/c it was cold and hot choklit is choklity goodness, and the conversation would be like…
Jacob: Blahdeblah, exams, blah
Me: Yeah, blahblah, easy, blah
Matt: Yeah, blahblah *insert matt joke here*
Me: woohoo! Matt joke!
Jacob: *laughing*
Tory: *is half-asleep and not talking*
*pause*
Andy: So there’s this other game where you have to blahblah
Everybody: BLAHBLAH SO HOW’S LIFE BLAHDEBLAH
I’ve got science and band tomorrow. Andy still hadn’t finished the band exam. Loser. Schneids gives it to us like a week early, and then we just look up all the answers if we’re too stupid to know them, or just write them down cuz they’re insanely easy, turn it in during the optional period, have a rehearsal, and leave before the regular exam starts.
I love band.
So tomorrow i’ll be going it at 8:50 and coming home at 12:20…and a third of that time will be spent eating lunch. ♥ ♥ ♥
I wish i had a snow day…*snibble* We have no snow

I’ve finally caught the killer cold that’s been going around. So has J. We were like the sniffling couple today…It was funny.
I had the weirdest dream last night – I was drugged up on cold medicine, so that was probably why. It kind of reminded me of Chronicles of Narnia – I was in this clearing, in the middle of an enchanted forest. There was this joyful, but slightly creepy musik coming from nowhere…And then there were these cute little animals running around, but they looked kind of satanic at the same time. LOL, it was kinda trippy.

The soap carvings were really fun to make! I made Mimi and Crraw, and some of the bunnies, and Taiwan Hippo Fan made the other bunnies. We painted them with arcrylic paint, expertly mixed by me. (If I do say so myself). We used Ivory soap.

136-Relax. Chillax, if you will.
Today was pretty good. I got a 93 on the Science Test 79% Of The Grade Failed (no joke), I have 2 (due to stuff) delicious cakes to enjoy. On the other hand, I had to talk about Noma in LA class.
Me: blah blah blah, Nigeria, blah, Mengele, etc.
Jillian: Okay, so what is Noma again?
Me: It’s a viral disease causing gangrene of of the cheeks and lips.
Jillian: o_O
Me: It’s a disease you get that rots your face.
Jillian: OMFGLOLBBQ! (something like that, anyway, we all know how great my English is, not) I’m going to get Noma and myfaceisgonnarotandImgonnaDIE!!! DIE!!! AHHHH!!!
Janie: *starts screaming*
Bo: *throws book at them* Geez, will you guys relax!
Me: So, continuing my presentation on Noma (under breath in good old nasal and ugly francais canadien)…blah blah blah.
It was that kind of day.

I got on math team!!! 4th chair? Worse that last year by one, and certain people moved from 4th chair to 2nd chair over the summer. But I was part of a 4 way tie for 4th place for a month or so, and it’s good to finally know I made it. I can hear the sound of crickets chirping and nobody caring, but math counts is my life. Yes, before you ask, I am that pathetic. I ♥ math. The kind you need to think about. I loathe the NYS standardized math test. It’s always on Pi Day and I shouldn’t have to take it after I take the regents next week. It’s so boring. I’m proficient already; drop it!!! This is the standardized test I got all the questions right on last year, so I have a right to say it’s easy.

JADESTONE HATH RETURNED!!! YAY!! *parties*
Finals are over!!! Passed all of ’em. As and Bs. Mind you, the only reason I’m getting Bs and not As are because most of them are honors classes and the work is harder, plus te grading scale goes 84 or lower=C, 93 or lower=B, and you have to be getting at least a 94 nto get an A. But oh well, got an A on one of the Honors ones! w00t! Anywhee, after finals ended(friday) I had to rush stright to michagen for a hockey tournament, then on mon. I had another hockey thing(7 games in 3 1/2 days… urrrrgh…) then I was sick yestiday and had to do makeup work. Meh. But I’m back now! Through parties in my honor! Whee!
“And there was much rejoicing!”

Still another bunny, this one edible (it’s made from a marshmallow).
Taiwan Hippo Fan sent this comment:
I just realized that I forgot to enclose a message in the last email with the
picture of the hot pink bunny marshmallow in it. Well, here it is! And,
erm… I’ll tell you how I made it:
1. Use toothpick to carve out general shape of bunny into marshmallow
2. Eat excess marshmallow
3. Mix white icing with red food coloring to make pink icing
4. Put pink icing on marshmallow bunny
5. Put white icing on bunny, just the two eyes and the mouth
6. Admire hot pink bunny marshmallow
7. Sigh and eat hot pink bunny marshmallow because it looks so deliciously
froody and froodily delicious
Alright. That’s that.

Oh, wait. Sorry for double posting. You were talking about Math Counts. xD Do you compete in Poughkeepsie?
I know I’m going for my school because our Math Counts sucks and is incredibly non-competitive, but so much fun. ♥

144- I think of MathCounts as a game, which might help you. And I will tangentially mention now that I have been wearing my sweatshirt in school everyday the past week, and today my English teacher noticed it and specifically noticed you as purplefinch, so that’s why I tangentially mentioned it now.
150- Math Counts is math team in my writing, and I probably shouldn’t post this, but yes, Margaret, around there. [Sorry! Too much information followed. –Admin.]

Anyone taking part in a big Muserly inter-school activity might consider wearing some subtle identifier (say, an HPB button) as a signal to fellow Musers.
0
0
141-Yeah Jadestone! w00t! You go, girl!
We don’t have Math Counts or Math Team. Sigh. No, nothing of the sort. There’s an Environmental Club, a cheerleading team, sports teams, Debate, and that’s about it. I can’t do debate, clearly, and I have no interest in cheerleading or sports. Plus, I’m an unapologetic breadhead, so that solves that.
867-5309! Have you called Jenny yet?

Too bad I don’t have one. xD
I’ll make my own if I can.

I’ll probably wear my MB sweatshirt, because I seem to always wear it, and I have wavy brownish-yellow hair and wear glasses. I’ll memorize the HPB origami instructions, and fold them instead of hexaflexagons while there, maybe. It will/would be incredibly cool to see you there, but now my inner pessimist takes over and I’ll find out you don’t live here too, and woe will be me, at least temporarily. But Robert-gapa has decided to allow planning to see each other at the math-counts competition, at least, so that’s good.

funny story about my name: i told it to my mom. this what transpired:
well, first she thought I said Arian, Rod of Orkney, so she asked what a Rod of Orkney was. then she thought that instead of “a.d. 900” i said “8900”, which would be like a million years in the future, so she asked me why I was doing that. then we had a mad laughing fit about it.

Skiing tomorrow, finally! I can’t wait.
154 ~ I think our competition is February second, and I’m not getting any Muse stuff until my birthday, unfortunately, so
I’ll probably be wearing my “There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who don’t” shirt. Other than that…either jeans or a short black skirt with leggings and legwarmers, since I like pretending to be preppy like that (I’m more accurately described as a geek, and I’m proud of it!).
0
0
158 ~ It’s a competition. A team of four plus two alternates (I think) from each participating school goes to the regional competition where they participate in different rounds…there are two individual rounds and a team round if I remember correctly. I think winning schools and individuals go on to state competition.

160 – That sounds like my Academic Games elective. I had my last class today, though. I get to do Art next semester. . Do you guys play Equations, Linguishticks, Onsets, Propaganda, Presidesnts, or any other stuff like that?
0
0
159- I thought the info sheet I got said Feb. 7th. Let me go check…
I can’t find the sheet. But “seventh” does sound like “second”. If you went last year (apart from the crispness of you possibly seeing me and I seeing you way before I joined the MB), I could ask you questions on that to see if yours was the same as mine.
Who won 1st individual?
Where was it held?
Was it on a weekday or a weekend?
0
0
161 ~ Vassar, maybe? I think it’s over there somewhere. (I don’t live in Poughkeepsie.) But that’s cool!
162 ~ I don’t think we play any of that, no. Last year we used to play 24 though…have you ever done that?
0
0
160- There’s (up to) 4 team members, 4 individuals, and 2 alternates. The 1st round is sprint- 30 questions, 40 minutes, no calculators, alone. The 2nd round is target- 8 questions in groups of 2, 6 minutes for each group of 2 questions, calculators (not graphing ones; never graphing ones at math counts) allowed, alone. The 3rd round is team- 10 questions, 20 minutes, calculators allowed, the 4 team members are one team, the individuals are another, I’m not sure about the alternates, but only the team’s score counts for the team. And the alternates’ scores on individual stuff don’t count either, I think. The stuff that doesn’t count is for fun. Then there’s the countdown round. 50 questions put up at the same time for all to see, calculators allowed I think but not much use, alone, whoever answers first gets it. Counts toward individual scores but not towards team except for how individual scores influence team. That’s for the chapter level. The top 2 or 3 per chapter go to state. At state level, the countdown round is between only the top 10 or 12 in the state, and obeys its own rules I don’t remember the best. The others are the same, only you can’t bring all the individuals and alternates to State, only the 4 team members and the highest individual as an alternate. I was 119th in the state, so the state competition round doesn’t concern me at all.
0
0
164- You don’t live here? Where do you live that you can post? The chapter round was at Central Hudson energy place thing. The state round was at RPI. The highest chapter round individual was Sameer the freakishly smart. Chapter I missed a day of school for, state was insanely early (for the drive) on a Saturday. What school do you go to??? Initials only, if you must.

We’re only allowed to go in 8th grade (though in our school you have to be in 9th grade math to participate). So I didn’t go last year.
Our first round (I think) will be on a weekend.
How did your teacher specifically note me as purplefinch? Does he/she go on MB? I am confuzzled.
And, by the way, I most likely won’t make it, because I am not one of the top 8, now. Although we are doing another thing to decide that, on Monday or Tuesday.
Maybe I’ll come and watch, though. To see if anybody is a muser.

Ahllo! *Promises to come back + read thread later, b/c she has to go to work now*
Well, J got himself suspended yesterday. I’m not entirely sure what happened, but I know that his parents might make him transfer skools…I’m incredibly angry w/ him right now, but I’m also just plain miserable right now…I think the sadness outweighs the anger by far. If he transfers, it’s probably going to be over…Yes, I’m pretty sure it’s going to be over. I’m going to call him this weekend, and ask if he’s planning on coming back.
I went to the mall after skool yesterday, to see if it would cheer me up any. It did – I ran into Kirsten, who I haven’t really talked w/ since track, two yrs ago. We went to DEB and looked at all the prom dresses – Jaysus, they had an excess of those things…It was like trying to weave your way through an enchanted forest of prom dresses! I think I got lost once…:P Then we went to Kay’s and looked at all the sparkly, über-expensive stuff (“Oo, SHINE-EH!”). We found Dingo, Alyssa, and Cory later…Dingo got this absolutely vile earring…It’s one of those earrings that stretches your lobe out. Ick. I got some ice cream and some new manga later…and that pretty much cheered me up moste of the way. : )…*Is almoste happy*
Meh.

176 ~ I WILL SEE YOU THERE! YES! I finally figured it out. (I don’t actually live in Poughkeepsie…I’m in a different county, but we compete there anyway!) My school’s initials are MCM. I’m at the lab right now. I listened to CarTalk, and I just heard Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me with Al Yankovich. Turns out his father is not Frank Yankovich, though Al plays accordion too. They are not related at all. He was very nice, and didn’t mind Roxanne Roberts’s little slip-up. Nice guy.
I’m going to spend today reading about the U.S. as a world power, listening to radio, watching ‘Wodehouse Playhouse’, ‘High Noon’, and maybe even ‘The Lavender Hill Mob’. Audrey Hepburn does not co-star in that last movie; she has about a microsecond. Stanley Holloway is sitting at a table. Hepburn walks to him, picks up some money, and walks past. Last night I saw ‘Edward Scissorhands.’ Good movie.
Apparently, there are now faux Klingons in the White House, sending real Americans to war. Would it be better if they were real Klingons? Why are these impostors sentencing our countrymen?

We had a sleepover at school last night for the eighth graders. They’ve been doing it for a few years, and supposedly it’s always so much fun, but it really sucked. The best part was rollerblading in the hallways (that was really fun) but the actual sleepover part was so stupid!
They divided the gym so that girls slept on one side and boys on the other and then turned out the lights in the gym at one like they said they were going to, which was all well and good, because we were supposed to be able to do whatever we wanted with those limitations.
But at two or so, my friends and I were happily playing duck-duck-goose (don’t ask) and one of the teachers was like “Oh, well, if you want to pull an all-nighter, you should have ten to twenty minutes of downtime. Be quiet and don’t get up. If you have to move, scoot on your butt.” We were all really pissed, because none of us cared about pulling an all-nighter. We just wanted to have fun and use up the energy from all the soda. (Read: There was no way we could possibly fall asleep, which was obviously what the teacher actually wanted to happen, because they’d given us a lot of caffeine.) So we were complaining and listening to music and stuff (quietly), and there was so much noise coming from the boys’ side of the gym.
We called Pedro on Livy’s cellphone, and he was like “Yeah, we’re having so much fun!”
Then the principal came in and pretty much told us to shut up, because the boys were trying to sleep. They started banging on the wall and the principal was like “Girls, stop banging on the wall! The boys are trying to sleep!”
We called Pedro again. “Yeah, we’re playing gang wars.”
Our twenty minutes of downtime turned into several hours. We ended up going to sleep at four fifteen or so for lack of anything else to do, and then at four thirty, people started screaming that there was a snake in the gym. I have no idea whether or not there was actually a snake in there, by the way. Dx
That woke most of us up. By five AM, a good percentage of the one hundred something people there were, once again, rollerblading in the hallways, which is less fun when so many people are doing it, so I stopped. The time between five and seven in the morning has never seemed so long, I swear.
All day, I’ve been thinking it’s several hours later than it really is.
[/longrantpost]
All done. ♥ Thanks for letting me vent!

I have to write a paper about camp. For school. It’s going to be SO inappropriate…

AAH!!! I’m in Math Counts! February 17! If any of you are gonna be at the College of Lake County I’ll see you there. I’ll wear my Muse Academy shirt if i can, they might give me a mathlete t-shirt or something though. if so, i’ll bring hpb stickers. Ha, JS, you said i was a nerd for this, but i’m gonna meet these MBers there, so HA.

I never said you were a nerd. I said you were a Mathleet. Why would I pay you unmessicary compliments?
0

188- Unfortunately, I think Margaret and I will be at a different competition. And of course you are a nerd. Mathletes are nerds, or geeks, or weird (I have been called this so many times because I enjoy math), or whatever you call it. It’s a trait we have in common with MuseBloggers and those who participate in science olympiad. At least mostly. And, yet again for those who did not read my old rant a while back, Math Counts is nothing like in Mean Girls, especially not the state competition. There’s several hundred more teams than two, and at that level, only the top ten or twelve individuals would be on stage. At state, the top individuals are put into a team to go to National, I think is the next level up, and she was obviously not one of them if she was failing math tests. And no self-respecting math coach would take someone who’s failing to a competition. I loathe that movie, I hate it, I despise it, we had to see it in the health class I also hate, loathe, despise etc. One more week of health!!!

Hey, hey, hey! I’ve been up for, like, 15 hours and 15 minutes by now, cuz I had to get up at 5:15am to go to Solo & Ensemble Festival with a singing quartet that I’m in, but it was soooo worth it, cuz we got a 1, the highest grade you can get!!!!! We’re going to State S&E in April, and I’m so excited!!! Sorry, really happy over here…and hyper, too, believe it or not. You know when you’re so tired, you feel like you could stay awake for hours? That’s me, right now. Tehe.
0

Oh, wait…I guess just cuz I’m hyper doesn’t mean my brain is fully engaged (lol)…I’ve been up for 15 hours and close to 30 minutes. Heh, heh…

Have any of you (Mathcounts people) done AoPs before? Just curious.

193- I know. Me too. I’ll be able to see you and I’ll give you my email so we can stay in touch and since I’ll then know 3 other musebloggers, we can plan kokonventions and othersuch stuff where we can meet and it’ll be great and I’m counting my chickens before they hatch. Now I’ll have no chance to talk to you if I even recognize you when I’m there.
196- Never heard of an AoP. What’s it stand for? *is curious*

THIS JUST IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PWT IS MALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“The book Attack of the Smart Pies clearly states that Pwt is a “he.” ” ‘Hfgh!’ coughed Pwt. He, too, had a pie.” (Page 182, Attack of the Smart Pies)
Also: In the February 2003 issue of Muse, Crraw recites this awful poem:
“I would never wish anyone ill,
But for this crow, Pwt’s cold is a thrill! His running has slowed His nose needs to be, um, blowed,
So please! No one give him a pill!” (Page 15, February 2003, Muse magazine)
These two passages show that Pwt is, in fact, male.
Squeeeee!

197 ~ Well, I’ll wear the skirt and leggings and leg warmers and a purple scarf, if I can find it. That way I’ll look really distinctive and you’ll be able to find me and we can talk and exchange emails over munchkins (yum…I hope they have them again this year) during the break. ♥

197- It’s a website where you can take online math classes. Sometimes they offer classes for people doing MathCounts. I took two of their classes, and some of the people there were doing Mathcounts. I was wondering if I had somehow met someone who is a Muser, too.

203 ~ Do they have any MathCounts ones right now? And are they free?

Y’all are talking about MathCounts? My best friend made it to state. I could never do it. My brain isn’t wired right. Made second in Geography bee though. Not enough to get me to state, but good given that I was told about it the day it happened and I was the youngest person there.
0
0
205 ~ I’ll never make it to state. xD My school is entirely non-competitive. We do it for fun. And for the free food.
It’s just an added bonus that my crush joined this year.
(Seriously. I’d never join something like this for a boy. I joined before he did.)
I made it to spelling regionals. Actually, I’m still bitter about my fifth place finish at regionals – I got out on the word “siccative.” Firefox’s spell checker doesn’t even recognize it. The kid who won got the word “atrocious” in that same round. He and the kid who came in second could hardly spell. When it came down to the final two:
A gets a word and misspells it
B misspells it too
B gets a word and misspells it
A spells it right and gets a second word, which, if he spells it correctly will make him the winner
A misspells the word
It just happened over and over, while all of us who were out banged our heads against the wall until the pronouncer had to go back to the easier words. The kid ended up winning with “charismatic.” Needless to say, he got out pretty quickly at nationals.
It was pretty sad. xD

I just went ice skating! It was really fun!

Allright… time to check my itinerary…
-894 pinapple pies
-7,496 key-lime pies
-several pie cannons, because everyone on my side gets a pie cannon free when they join.
-1 pie over that only makes pies for me
-1 pie slingshot, which aims automaticly and readjusts course depending on if the person moves, constructed skillfully by Queenie J from the first pie war when I joined up with the neutrals
-1 pie polar bear, named Ishtar who stays with me in battle
BEHOLD!!! THE TRADEMARKED CANNON OF DOOM!!! For use of the Jadestone side. PIE!! *pies all*

4- Did you right-click and format the videos in your playlist for the iPod?
7- Aaaah, ouch. How are you now? *gives virtual choklit*
I have a cell phone, but I only use it to call my mom if I need a ride home from school or something…
35- I thought To Kill A Mockingbird was boring when we had to read it, except for the court case. That was probably the only good part.
These car hitting stories are very depressing. I won’t share on this topic.
45- Yeah, it was a depressing book.
Hmm, I should get back to Nationstates…
64/72- *sympathy*
68- Gosh, how do you all find these sites? I need to improve my stalking-skills. *pokes around on NaNo profiles* Oooo
74- Sweet.
84- Strange. [about the guy from FF] But I heart the random thread random facts I must now save the edible banana!
Telling people things you’ve been sworn not to is majorly uncool.
89- Haha, trumpet guy pwns.
99- WOW. *_*
106- I have no idea what kind of straightener I have….I think it’s by Revlon…I mostly commandeer my sister’s…I think they both have ceramic plates. Hmm, I’m confused. No wonder my hair looks horrid all the time.
We had some flurries on Friday, but nothing major. Monday and Tuesday are Act-80 days, though! Whooo!
126- Weeeird. I had a dream about sliding down a slide. Over and over. And then I went to a slide museum. Randomness.
140- That’s still good, though!
141- Ack, I hate that new grading system.
MathCounts. Did that in like 7th grade. 12th place, personally, sadly. I don’t remember what our team got, though….
155- Musewear is addicting. I’m almost always in my HPB zipper hoodie.
178- Well, if that works…*sigh* i honestly do not know what to tell you.
181- NPR pwns! I usually listen to the Car Talk peoples.
184- Ack. Sorry, but your principal is kind-of an idiot. Or chauvinist. Or both.
200- Lohan? Hot? I think I have just lost all respect for you.
I want snow.
Oh, and the Musery sculptures and marshmallows are wonderful.
[And, now that I’ve read through and responded to the thread, I shall babble about life in general……..]
I’m back. Finallys. After the d00mish finals. But I’m fairly certain I have over a 90 in all my classes; it’s all good. Actually, I’m probably failing chem for this semester because I forgot to hand in our only assignments…but I was in a test at the time, so I have an excuse…ish….
Not much else happened in my boring life. xD.
I need to finish my PJAS…
Oh, and I found out what competitions I’m in, in the Science Olympiad. It’s going to be funnnnnnn. Astronomy, Experimental Design, and “Write It Do It.” And it’s all in teams, so two brains are better than one and all that…… w00t. And the people in my groups are quite competent. Probably overly so. Fun. Any other HS Musers in NEPA doing the Olympiad?
Time after finals was fun. I hung out in the Gifted room [coolest place in the whole zarking school!] and associated with pretty much anyone present. ‘t was fun. Card games, mostly.
Anything else? hmm. *thinks*
Oh. Right. That guy with whom I went to that dance asked me out again. My one friend convinced me to go. Ack, I think we’re seeing that stupid movie with Will Smith where they spell happiness incorrectly. I hate “inspirational” films.
This is a really long post. And I am Captain Obvious.

213 ~ I must have used one of those brackets again. I think the rest of the post pretty much said: I WANT A SNOWDAY.
218 ~ My principal isn’t normally an idiot, but that was pretty shockingly stupid yesterday.
I forget what place I came in last year. I did a lot worse than you, I think. xD My school came in…fourth? I think so anyway.
Also, at least someone asked you out. I haven’t been asked out since sixth grade, by a kid I didn’t even know. (I said no, of course.)

(218) You only just finished finals? Wow. Impressive.
It rained today! All afternoon! And- this is really incredible- it almost snowed! Ish. Like, the rain got all icy and slushy. It was pretty cool.
I went to winter formal last night. It was pretty fun, but kind of reminded why I don’t really like my school. I went to IHOP afterwards with a group of 15 kids and we ate pancakes at 1:30 in the morning. Good times.

My computer lied to me.
“Now in [mytown], NY
Snow, 22 F
Wind N, 3 mph”
In. Your. Dreams. It’s not even going to snow tonight! Stupid ForecastFox extension thing. As soon as if popped up I ran downstairs like a madwoman, and for what? Only to find out that we aren’t having a snowday tomorrow. Dx

223-science fiction, oldish stuff, really good.
Ebeth is even more happy. She just discovered that she doesn’t have skool tomorrow (yes, she’s a noob) Some kind of teacher meeting thing. This she knew, but she didn’t know it was tomorrow. She thought it was next week. Or last week. Or something. She doesn’t pay much attention to that stuff…

Oh yes, and she just watched the mouse that roared, which she thought was a pretty funny movie. She offically loves TCM, her pater, and the dvd recorder. XD We have soooo many random old movies now. It’s great.

214 – I thought the UP got more snow than we do down here. Yep, we call u guys Yoopers and my freind as a “Yooperman” shirt because she was originally from up there. My dad says that you call us trolls because we live “under the bridge”. Is that true?

Penty’s returned and has not read all two-hundred-and-twenty-nine posts of backlog. For shame.
She has a hundred pages of reading for bio that she should start. And she has to finish the prologue to Dreamlandscape and write that stupid lab report. Penty hates stress. And Naruto is eating her soul.
225 (Ebeth)- Penty is jealous.
And referring to herself in the third person.

227-Native yooper. Who now lives in ohio. So yah, they get more snow but i’m down here, celebrating wildly the least little flake. And i have no idea about the trolls. Probably true, but i left when i was like five and i don’t really talk to my parentals friends much…
231-No penty! Don’t let your soul be eaten! Ach!
i have no idea why i’m awake. i don’t have skool. i should be sleeping in until like lunchtime. But i guess i’ve been sleeping in for a week b/c of exams. so i don’t really need to.

NUUUUUUU I slept (in) through two-and-a-half classes because my alarm didn’t go off. And now my English teacher is going to hate me forever, and my history teacher more than he already does. ARRGH.
So now I’m doing my chem homework and surfing Museblog. B’nurg. Why am I so outrageously intelligent?

180: He didn’t really do anything…My friend just told me what happened. She, J, and J’s friend were all in the auditorium (in the catwalk), skipping third hour. A teacher caught them, and thought that J and his friend were doing stuff w/ my friend (I know that they would never do something like that!)…So all three of them are suspended for two days. Some of the teachers at my skool can be really assinine. X(
184: Spending the night at skool? That sounds a little creepy, esp w/ teachers there. But, maybe the teachers at your skool are nicer than the ones here. Some of the other ppl in Thespians (I’m in the Thespian club) want to have an overnight in the auditorium sometime…That might actually be fun, as long as there aren’t any teachers/principals there.
194: Sweet! *Applauseapplause*
206: Yays, spellers unite! I won my skool’s spelling bee in seventh and eighth grade…But I was in a small skool at the time, so it wasn’t such a big deal.
218: That’s sweet. What’s he like?
It’s been snowing nonstop here for the last two days…But eggzams are this week, so I don’t think we’ll be having any snow days.
I think I’m addicted to DDR musik now – Tabby let me copy her DDR mix, which has 42 tracks on it…I’ve been listening to it nonstop this afternoon. It makes me wish that I was talented enough to actually play the game, LOL.
I got 94% on my Spanish eggzam!! *Dies of happiness*

235 (Kiara)- Recordar, with an ar.
234 (metalfairy)- DDR music is terribly addictive. So is J-pop. (Although they’re often interchangeable…) My roomie burned me a J-pop CD and I am listening to it constantly.

238 (Axa)- Erm…Right now, Gackt. ♥ I think there’s some Do as Infinity and Asian Kung Fu Generation and Pillows, and the rest of the songs I don’t recognize. (it does not come with titles.) I’m still not caught up on the Naruto manga, so I cannot say for its boringness.

230- w00t. They’re really froody.
233- Ohnoes!
234- Pretty shy. And a Star Wars obsessionist. But really nice. Oh, and great job on your Spanish exam!
240- Revolutionary.
Whooo.
Yesterday afternoon/night was weird. Alkward silence to the power of seventeen. And I forgot to not order dressing on my salad so I pretty much had to endure whatever it was they put on it….at least I remembered to ask them not to put chicken on it xD But I thought they always put dressing on the side…alas… I think it was something with cheese, because the whole thing looked cheese-filled…. I just hope there wasn’t anything dead in it…. *shudder/tear* Oh, well — what’s done is done. Still… *once again, shudder/tear* Then we meandered aimlessly around the [nearly empty on Mondyays] mall.
Yeah, basically it was alkward. Because we’re both really shy. But we finally started talking, so it was all good. In all, a pretty fun time.

arggh…. in gym class my brother was happily floor hockey-ing along. He scored a goal! and out of nowhere *wham* a kid, angry that the goal was scored hits him in the shin. Now, you can be upset at having someone score a goal on you but do you really need to whack someone else in the shin and prevent them from playing floor hockey, skiing (my brother and I are both on the cross country ski team and he had to miss a meet because of this), walking comfortably? couldn’t you just swing at the air making sure no one is there to be hit?

I could, and we could (and should) all send him (President Bush) letters, under our MuseBlog names, with our countries as the return-address, and make them all related to the same thing (whether or not the War in Iraq was only started because Bush was bored), and see what happens! MBers who don’t know what I’m talking about, go to the PPP4 thread, and check some of the recent posts. Then let me know if you’ll do it. P*ease? (See? I didn’t even say it.)

253 – I would do it, I really would. But there’s just a few slight problems:
1. He doesn’t check his mail. He’ll never actually read it. And if he does, he’ll just pretend, because THE DARN GUY CAN’T READ!!!!!
2. If we put our countries as the return address, our mailman won’t let it through, which is usually a good thing, but not for this.
3. If the topic doesn’t even have a touch of sensible politics in it, it won’t even have a chance of anyone writing back or anything.
4. All of these MuseBloggers put together is a small number of letters to Bush.
5. If we explained our countries and stuff, they could search us, and then we would be in big trouble for hating him
0
0
254-No, you can put whatever you want as a return address for the U.S. mail. And anyway, the Feds are the least of our problems.
I hate being a Canadian in a U.S. public school. We were talking about the U.S.-American war in SS today, and my teacher was all, “And what did we make Cuba sign?” and I said, “We, Tonto?”
and he didn’t get it. But anyway, I make a point of never saying ‘We’ to mean the US. Or Canada. It’s weird. It’s just an odd thing to do, and it sounds really nationalist and odd.

(239) GACKT. YES. I love Gackt. He’s so ridiculous. And yet I worship him anyways. D: D: D: Do you happen to know that song name? -botherbother-
Asian Kung-Fu Generation is seriously one of my favorite bands. I haven’t heard much of the Pillows though, sadly.
(251) Yep. Also, j-rock, though they’re broad terms. Also applicable for Korean and Chinese music. K-pop etc.
I just want everyone to know that when I got out to buy cds, it cost me about 35 on average for each. I bought three cds last week and it cost 100 dollars. This is what my fandom does to me.
(255) Yeah, saying “we” has always come of strange to me. It’s like how royalty types in books say “we”.

(257) Yes! I’m in California and it’s been FREEZING. It SNOWED in places it hasn’t snowed fro in a very long time…-shivers-
(258) Ha! I love that song! I think it was his first solo song after Malice Mizer.
I’ve unfortunately only heard one Taiwanese song that M&M pointed me to… by Farenheit? o_o It’s awesome though. -needs more-
(259) NO MY MUZAK IZ KEWLER DAN URZ OKAY!!!11 :C :C

Hey J-pop / rock lovers! Have any of you heard of a band (They might have disbanded, though) called Malice Mizer? They’re a Japanese goth band, and they supposedly influenced I Am Ghost (one of my favourite bands at the moment), so I want to give some of their musik a listen…but I can’t find it anywhere.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…
It is so aggravating!!!
I have to register for high school classes, and I know I’m qualified to take this one class, But NO, It’s only for 10th-12th graders.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…

Today:
I lost points because I wouldn’t tell my LA teacher what religion I was, the SS teacher made fun of me, and I nearly hit several people. Not a great day, in other words. And then I had some turkey tetrazini, and a chocolate ice cream sandwich. But I’m going to the library tonight, and I just got “Rio” by Duran Duran.
259-What, like Lorki?
264-Welcome to life. Circumvent?

(263) I know about them! Gackt was the vocalist of Malice Mizer for a time, but they disbanded in 2001.They were actually in the genre of visual-kei (visual style) which is hard to explain, but it’s very showy, glam type stuff I guess. So says the revered wiki: refers to a movement in Japanese popular culture characterized by the use of eccentric, sometimes flamboyant looks. This usually involves striking make-up, unusual hair styles and elaborate costumes, often, but not always, coupled with androgyny or distinctively feminine or bishÅnen aesthetics.[1]
HAIL ANDROGYNY. XDD I actually haven’t heard anything that they’ve done (Mana scares me like nothing else), so I can’t vouch for if they were influenced by that band. I know that they’re considered to be an important facet to the visual kei culture and etc though.
-breathes-
Also, FS, I’m sorry if I can off stupid, but music elitism is made of fail, and it bugs me.

251- Righto. Ha, I finally got the courage to call him yesterday, and we managed to be awkwardly silent over the phone. But laughing at the SotU worked… Bush and his blue tie….. And McCain sleeping……
252- Those overly-aggressive kids are horrible. Hyper-competitive people annoy me so much. It’s only gym class!
255- I do concur.
261- Good luck with that. I’m usually too lazy for my contacts and only wear them on weekends/daysofffromschool…
264- Get your parents to call the school and push for you to get in. It worked for me in a few classes… As long as they are polite and convincing, it should work, I hope.
This semester is going to suck. With a capital SUCK.
I am chapfallen indeed. Art is not a blow-off class. It’s a let’s draw the outline of a shoe for a bigillion hours class. No fun at all.
Eeengleesh, I hope I can get out of….. We’re doing The Crucible again this year. I HATED that play. But The Scarlett Letter makes up for that. And a project we’ll have to do on an aphorism. I hope she doesn’t shoot down to craunch the marmoset!
I have a calc quiz tomorrow, but that shouldn’t be a problem…
We got new seats in chem…. I hate mine. I’m on the other side of the room now, and in the middle row. I miss my old seat — the last one in the row right in front of the door, always my seat of preference. *sigh* And my new lab partner is annoying.
Meh.

264-have u asked whoever teaches the class? sometimes if you’re spiffy-smart they’ll let you in. my friend celia’s taking brit lit this year, and that’s a senior class. and shirin (a freshie in my latin) is in bio, which is a sophomore class.
Ebeth is happy. Doc read this book and really liked it, so he said he’d give extra credit to anybody who read it, and later i was like “were you serious about that?” and he was like “yeah, 15 extra credit points” i was like “sawheeeeeeeeeeet” But the library doesn’t have it. But i’ll get it. Eventually. Because Ebeth needs extra credit in latin.
Ebeth is also sad at the insane amount of hw she has.
But happy that she has a study hall.
So have i told you people about horger’s quote of the day? She always has one up in her classroom. Andy, Jacob and i always had a contest to see who could get to her room to read the quote first. But now we’re not in her class, but Andy and i both have history 3rd hour on the second floor in rooms right next to each other (he was a loser and didn’t take AP). So today we raced out after history and ran like all the way down the hallway. i got to her room first and shouted out the quote (yes, i pwn), horger was like “oh hi guys!” we were like “hi!” and raced all the way down the stairs to band to get to Jacob first. Lots of running involved. This is the plan now for the second semester. Because it’s the Quote. You have to read the Quote. And you have to read it before the other two. Or try to. XD Todays was “The search for happiness is the key to unhappiness”

There aren’t enough limericks on this thread.
A young schizophrenic named Struther,
Who learned of the death of his Brother,
Said, “I know that its bad,
But I don’t feel too sad.
After all, I still have each other.”
There’s a wonderful family called Stein:
There’s Gert and there’s Ep and there’s Ein.
Gert’s poems are bunk,
Ep’s statues are junk,
And no one can understand Ein.
Archimedes, the well known truth-seeker,
Jumping out of his bath, cried “Eureka!”
He ran half a mile,
Wearing only a smile,
And became the very first streaker.
The great poet, John Donne,
Was wont to admonish the Sunne,
“You busie old foole,
lie still and keep coole,
For i am in bed, having funne.”
There’s also the one about the young man from Saint-Paul, which would be self-contradictory if it were told at all.

268- You think you’ve got it bad? Take comfort from that fact you are not in a class where, this is 100% true, the teacher’s idea of a fun ceramics project are gargoyle planters. And my english teacher has the brains of trout. And we’re going to read ender’s game. Which I have already read and know for a fact that it is a book read in elementary schools. Not that it’s a horrible book, but definitly not on-level reading for an honors class. Plus, they coach us through shakespeare line by line as if we couldn’t understand it without help. And I’m the only person in the class who has actually read a shakespeare play on their own free time. And performed one. And been to the globe. And paid attention to the bazillion shakespeare facts they repeat EVERY SINGLE YEAR! Sorry, just a little miffed that I am almost certain that my teacher did not recieve A’s in her HS english classes. Not that she’s giving me A’s. No. The quote must go before the analysis and if you forget to put a title you might as well forget about it. Rant over.

265: That’s Lordi, and they’re VERY good. Dude has massive songwriting talent.
And actually, this is a subjective discussion, as the music level in Scandinavia is a lot higher than the rest of the world. Kids start really early and the mainstream music is metal, the style that requires the most technical skill after classical. So Scandinavians are immeresed in technicality from birth, with the result that most musicians with a non-professional training, or even self taught (like Jani Liimatainen or Alexi Laiho) are the equal or the superior of what say, Spanish, Italian or American professional conservatories are pumping out.

You know what you people should read? Nordic Sagas. Very important for the developement of Anglo-European literature. So far I’ve read one, Saga Of The Volsungs: The Norse Epic Of Sigurd The Dragon Slayer, and it’s bloody fantastic. The book has a bunch of University professors (well known ones) comparing it to Dante, Homer, Chaucer and Shakespeare. Plus, it’s the background for Beowulf.
Now I wouldn’t recommend reading it in the original Old Norse, but the English translations are very readable.

277-if there’s ever a muse academy, i agree that there had better be some shakespeare studied without treating us like idiots. I’m not the only one to have read shakespeare outside of class-far from it-and yet smallwood still thinks we can’t understand a word of it without his help.
279-old norse would be sweet to learn. So would a lot of things…but yeah. Nordic sagas? I’ll probably look that up this summer when i have absolutely nothing to do XD

(280) I’d love to teach that Shakespeare course. First I’d have to write a textbook called…let’s see…The Incomplete Non-Idiot’s Guide to Shakespeare.
Have you discovered the New Variorum editions of Shakespeare? Amazing footnotes and in some cases reproductions of the original printings. You might also enjoy Asimov’s Guide to Shakespeare. Isaac Asimov wrote a lot more than science-fiction, and he wrote about everything.
(279) FS, when you mentioned languages you were interested in learning, I was surprised to see that the list didn’t include Icelandic. That’s very close to Old Norse.

And actually, this is a subjective discussion, as the music level in Scandinavia is a lot higher than the rest of the world
You can’t say that without knowing EVERTHING about ALL genres of music in EVERY country. And even then it’s still you opinion. I respect that you have pride for that music and that you like it, but don’t bash everything else because you don’t like it.

278-I’m offended by the idea that metal demands a high skill level. Ever tried jazz? Or reggae? Bix Beiderick is harder than any metal band you would care to name any day. Count Basie, too.
279-My half-brother’s called Sigurd. I hate Norse sagas. And epics. Ever read Tom Holt’s ‘Who’s Afraid of Beowulf’? You should. You’d like it. Glad you have Scandinavian pride, even though you live in Switzerland.
283-How do you play dulcimer? It sounds like lots of fun, though. Rock on, Kiki.
Her name is Rio, and she dances on the sand…

I’m interested in hearing just what exactly you (plural) like/dislike about sagas and epics. A discussion like that could clog up the random thread, though, so I’m going to create a special thread for them.

I recently saw the film version of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. ‘Hem. Some points:
1. I am not racist, but is Ford Prefect supposed to be black? I got the impression he was white, so as to make his cover story of being from Surrey more believable. Maybe I misunderstood that bit, and I only read it once some years ago, but yeah.
2. I was under the impression that Trillian was a Limey. Could be wrong, but hey. Whatsername did a great job in the role, but still.
3. Humma Kavula, as portrayed by the reeaaallly creeeeepy John Malkovitch, was an unfamiliar character. I’d even go so far as to say he didn’t exist in the novel, as didn’t his planet. Also, a trip to Vogsphere was never mentioned in the book.
4. Point of View Gun? Good idea, but since Humma Kavula didn’t exist neither did it. I want a gun like that. Then people would finally realize how much they’re making my blood boil and STOP already.
5. I like the shorts Trillian wears just after Ford and Arthur are picked up. Oooooooeeeee! And blue is my favorite color too!
6. Is it really possible to be as spineless as Arthur Dent? If someone insulted me, made a peace offering then hit me in the face, then threatened me, I’d fly off the handle and beat him with whatever was available. Then again, maybe he was making a sympathy play for Trillian’s attention. If so, good plan. I’ve tried it, dropping my act of being happy for a minute so I can wallow in all-too-real misery.
7. Egads! I had no idea Vogons were supposed to be that UGLY!

287- that’s funny.
Okay this is really random but because Skipper mentioned a wombat, I just had to say it.
When we were on the charter bus for a school field trip to a coal mine (I know, so exciting), my friend who I was sitting next to, Alyssa, and I were playing with her electronical hangman game. The category was animals and we had gotten a few right and a few wrong when we got to one that we could not guess at all. It was a mystery! Obviously we lost and it turned out that the word was Wallaby (sp?). So we’re like, “What’s a wallaby?” and we ask John and Sean who were sitting in front of us what a wallaby is. Of course they didn’t know. So then, they yell up to the front of the bus to our social studies teacher asking what a wallaby was. I don’t think he knew either. And then John and Sean were making a joke out of it saying that the next animal/form of life that they saw out the window was a wallaby. Alyssa and I were laughing about that of course. Then, they started joking and saying that there were wallabies in the coal mine. Then they mixed the words wallaby with dwarf and came up with wallawarfs. They were then saying that wallawarfs lived in the coal mine. They were like, “Beware of the Wallawarfs! They live in the coal mine!!!” We were still laughing. Anyways, then on the way down into the coal mine on the cart, John was like, “Watch out for the Wallawarfs!” Everyone started laughing. When we got back to the bus, John had this giant cooler that he had brought with him. So Sean and John were shaking the cooler around and yelling that there was a wallaby in the cooler. Then John stuck his hand in the cooler and quickly pulled it out saying that a wallaby bit his finger. So they were shaking it around and someone said to our social studies teacher, “John has a wallaby in the cooler!” Then we went home. Everytime we say the word wallaby or wallawarf now, we both start laughing.
Yeah. Random. But somehow the wombat thing reminded me of that.

I took the Math A regents today. It was fun.
218- Like formatting makes things play right. I tried that with my mpeg of the pi song. iPods play mpeg-4, so it took me four hours before I managed to bring the clip into iTunes, find out it wouldn’t play on iPod, right-click and convert it to an mpeg4 to find the sound (the reason I want it) is gone and the colors are funny, install Adobe Premeire Elements, bring the clip in, export it as a .mov quicktime file, bring that into iTunes, and convert it to an .aac file so it was iPod compatible. Audio only. 4 hours spent on a 30 second song.

In other news, I was just on one of my fave author’s web sites, and in the part where they listed their favorite musik it had a band called Muse, along with Coldplay and the Beatles, both of which I love. So I’m skipping off to iTunes to check them out now.

297- tell me about it. We were learning about coal. I mean, what’s interesting about coal? Geez… Last year in 7th grade we learned about rocks. Earlier this year we learned about coal. I would have thought that the teachers would have realized that no one really cares about it by then. Ah well.
I don’t feel like doing anything. I’m trying to stalk this one kid from my tennis class that goes to my school, but he’s in 6th grade so I can’t stalk him efficiently.
Hey has anyone read the book called “The Last Templar”? I am going to get it from the library when I have time to get to the library. Hehe… Please don’t ask why I have a sudden interest in that book. Just don’t. Although if you ask, I’ll probably tell you, so don’t.

we have 311 comments. Thats wierd. I’m bored. Its the week end. Yayayyayay.
w00t!! Part two!
CURSE YOU IPOD AND YOUR TRICKERY.
Sigh. I thought I could play videos but noooo.
I’m sorry for the random post but ARGH. -headdesk-
5th post!
1- That sounds like alot….
3- What’s Little Shop of Horrors ?
4- nano?
Hey wait a second..don’t you have school SupremeMuser2000, the All Mighty Queen of Museicalifornia and Wungy? Ha, I got the whole name this time.
(snow day here)
Oh my gosh. I was hit by a car. I was walking to skool and a car going around a corner just hit me. I just got back from the hospital. I’m ok now. I’ve got a huge scrape on my knee and I ache all over and it’s icing and I feel awful.
Forgot to change my name on post 7. Yes I am MyNameIsbob and I don’t really care right now.
7 ~ Wow. What a nightmare! I’m so glad you’re okay.
7- WHOA. I’m glad you’re okay!
1-No sweat. You have Muser superpowers.
7-Sorry about that. Is there anything we can do?
Mike Smith is not actually dead. He is resting–had a rather nasty car accident. Tom Petty reported wrong, but was very funny about it on the next Buried Treasures show.
7-Oh, wow. You’re lucky you weren’t hurt more. Are you feeling any better, now?
Thanks guys, Its been a really stressful day, but I think I’m mostly ok now, *sniffs* just still in slight shock. The car was only going 10 miles an hour.
wowza!
that is kind of scary!
i guess
my buddy got in a car crash
(she isn’t dead)
nighty night
(ok it is not night but my friedns are trying to sleep)
i know the lama song
heres a lasma theres a lama and another little lama

7- are you allright? I hope you’re feeling better! did you break anything? my brother’s friend got crashed into by a car and his rib and arm were broken. I think that in both instances, the car forgot to look at the cross walk going the way it was turning from. but maybe not in your case. I’ve been really careful about looking for turning cars now though.
4~ no, CURSE YOU, LIBRARY COMPUTER, FOR NOT LETTING ME INSTALL ITUNES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7 – AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Freaky!!! A few days ago when my mom was driving me home from karate, there was this homeless guy who was nearly hit by a car next to us. He started swearing at them and yelling. He wasn’t hurt though, and I’m glad about that.
2 – Me too!?!?!?!?! Mine’s on the fifteenth.
(6) Yesss it lied to me! D:
(7) Oh my gosh, I hope you feel better! That’s awful….
(9) I buy nothing from iTunes. -shifty glances- I downloaded it off of YouTube with my amazing ability. xD Yes.
(20) DX That’s annoying too! ARGH.
7 — ooh, not good. hope you get better and everything
i am sick. it is icky-poo. and i have a model un conference tomorrow in delaware . . . not looking forward to that . . .and after that i have to do all my hw, so really i have nothing to look forward to. just endless kegs of drudgery.
Axa- For cereal?? You can download stuff from youtube..?
*leaps off to go try*
Metalfaery- aww. Do you know which one you like more? Sounds like a tough situation…hope you resolve it soon!
But yeah.
tired. very tired. bleh. meh. Ah geez. At least it’s Saturday. *goes off to watch Mythbusters*
35 (Kiara) – I loved To Kill a Mockingbird! It’s one of my favorite books. But, like e~a, I can’t really pick favorite books. But it’s high up on the list of books I like.
7 – Wow. Fun… not…. Apart from all of those human-meets-car stories that don’t have happy endings… *tears* :'(
Once again thanks for the sympathy, guys. I needed it.
i almost got hit today. somebody in a dark blue car was pulling out into the road over by cap and it was dark and drizzling. we both saw each other at the same time and stopped.
My grandpa was on a bike and was hit by a car…his brain broke in 5 places….and he died *sobs*
It was really sad.
you’re skaring me w/ all these hit-by-a-car stories.
It’s depressing enough.
sigh.
45 – I loved Milkweed. I didn’t think it was very depressing…
42-That is really good! I like it.
I have socks with penguins on them.
42- Great story! It’s very interesting! It took a while to read though. Ah well, it was worth it!
Well. This thread has gotten of to a rather weird start…
And by the way, thanks a bunch Axa for finally noticing me, I was beginning to think nobody would see me even though I was making so many comments.
/gradster(1)
The penguins are taking over, you know.
help?
I can’t get in to Land of the Muse!!!
It says “land_of_the_muse” (which is not quite what I typed in) no longer exists. Help?
Threads everyone must visit that I am posting everywhere:
The Chronicles of Museica, Part The Third
“Mostly Harmless,” v.2006.2
Monty Python
57- It should exist
The password is [snipped. –Admin.]. make sure you’re in region search first tho.
46- I just finished it today. I thought the parts with the dead bodies/hanging/other sad stuff was depressing ;__;
57-Make sure you were searching region, not country.
(54) Ah so it is with MB. XD
Cheese is teh yum. Which is why I am eating it.
Choklit is better than cheese!!! CHOKLIT!!!!!
42-“Midnight-black hair”? Hellooo? I have been dropped into a Dixon novel and I can’t get out.
45-I’m doing that too. Hey, water weight is weight, okay?
48-He was also Jeeves on Jeeves&Wooster, did you know that? With the incomparable Hugh Laurie, who did a lot of stuff.
sorry kricket, you can’t compete for soap operas. went to cup o’ joe to study today w/dan, danny, bill, and leeny, and bill and leeny hadn’t heard dan’s sob story w/jacob yet, so he had to tell them the whole thing.
How sad.
26 (Axa): “at the high school age, love present so much as curiosity is. My way of saying don’t expect too much, but then again, don’t expect to little.”
…Well said (Can I put that in my quote book?)!
64: Gaah, why can’t love ever be fair?? Hey, there are always other fish in the sea…Don’t let her sink into depression just b/c of one guy.
(67) lol sure. xD -speaking from person-ish experience- Bleh.
And I agree with what you said to 64.
A healthy obsession with a beautiful singer or two or eight doesn’t hurt either 8DHAHAHA no okay though, really, we’re all kind of young to be getting too worked up over that sort of thing in my opinion, just have fun and be a kid.(66) Eh? Penty has a site? Is this a Xanga, because I know of people’s Xangas.
68- it’s a writing site. Tis teh spiffey.
60,61-Thanks. I’ll try that.
65- Yes, actually. My mother is a huge Hugh Laurie fan. We bought her the first season of Jeeves and Wooster for her birthday. Have you seen House? Amazing show.
Plz post.
Violetfire has sent us this picture of three hot-pink bunnies she carved out of soap. The random thread seems as good a place as any for them. Nice work, VF!
I just noticed that we’re on Technorati…. cool.
How do you carve things out of soap? I have a feeling there’s a better way than a pocketknife, but probably not.
On a random note, the calendar should have more weird holidays. Do a google search for weird holidays and you’ll see what I mean. I really should get offline though, seeing as it is midnight.
(72) Oh that sucks. That’s one of those difficult situations…That friend who told is…wow. That’s not good. My sympathies. ;__;
(73) THAT IS AMAZING. I tried making a boat out of soap once…hard stuff, that. I admire your work! And the pink is the exactly right shade!
I ahte conflict on the internet. Never get yourself into one, kids, it’s no fun. -shakes old granny cane at you all-
Six months later. -sighs-
(73) THAT”S PHANTASTIQUE!! I love it when people find original ways to make things… great job VF!
Love the soap!
I have never tried to carve any soap. Do you just use regular soap?
hmmmm…Every sentace so far has ended with the word “soap”.
Must find Penty’s site…Soap.
They look like something you might get for Valentine’s Day, don’t they? Made of candy and stamped with little messages? (“Resistance is Useless” would be a good one.) Hm, I wonder whether the Necco people might…
65 – Helloooo? FYI it’s called description. Try reading sometime.
My sister is always getting herself inot those types of problems and she always comes to me for help and I feel really bad because I don’t know what to do…..

64 – Ohhh, that’s so sad.
Wow.
Great, Job, Violefire!!!!
But, I think we get some credit to…(Taiwan Hippo Fan and I)…we gave her the idea and told her how to do it.
We’ll take a picture of our army, too. I think we have 7 or 8 so far. I’m currently making a Mimi. It’s hard, though. Her arms keep falling off.
Robert – did you get the “mail” yet? It has a hpb that THF made inside it!
(81),
I’ve been on vacation, but I’ll probably get your mail when I go back to the office tomorrow.

Nice story, Kiara. Speaking of stories, could you OEADS make a new writing thread? I have a great story that I want to post.
72 ~ That used to happen to me sometimes. I never tell anyone anything anymore.
I only saw that post – I’ll read the rest when I’m not talking on the phone.
84-Maybe they’re really BIG boats…
I like rain too. And it’s snowing here!!! YAY!
Someone needs to make hot-pink-bunny marshmallows.
84- For the betterment of poets everywhere, I will take it upon myself to find rhymes for those words.
month-quanth
silver- rilver
purple- sirrpul
orange- korandj
Definitions later.
Thanks for putting my picture on, Bobby. It’s kind of blurry though. Also, THF and PPanda made a lot of soap hpbs too. That’s where i got the idea. All together, we have a pretty big army of them.
Sorry i haven’t been on in a while, i have to write this story for skool and i’ve been MAJORLY procrastinating. I banned myself from MB until i finished. But then i had to come on anyway when THF told me you put my photo up.
oh, also, i named them after you guys. The one on the left is Bobby, the middle one is Rosie, and the right one is Rebecca.
84 — we had to read it over the summer. it SUCKED. i’m sorry, but it should never have gotten published.
Hey, guuuuyyyysssss!!!!!!! The Alter Ego thread still exists!
*hint, hint*
*wink, wink*
hi guys and gals I’m back
Iwwonder what this HTML dose
92: Awww, Violetfire. Thanks. I’m tickled pink. It looks like Rebecca and Robert are too.

These were actually a series of questions on QI.

hello: If at first you don't succed then skydiving may not be for youblast it didn’t work lets test these HTMLs out hi there
this too howdy
If they do, maybe there are pink ones.
hey allof you GAPA people how do i use the top line of the HTML ?
99 ~ Have you ever seen Keeping Mum? Rowan Atkinson’s in it, and Maggie Smith, too. Also Patrick Swaze (or whatever his name is) but he’s just creepy.
I mailed the picture of the Muse-related soap carvings we (Taiwan Hippo Fan and I) made to the GAPAs. Did you get it yet?
We’ve got them, but we won’t have time to post them for another day or two. So many bunnies…
I had a dream we got a wii.
We are snowed in!!! Yay no school double yay.
73- I have the sudden urge to eat it.
Don’t ask.
For the rest of your days.
It’s a problem free, philosophy,

Snow day again. Never ending snow.
100-My friend has a t-shirt with that on it!!! He also has one that says: “You’re unique. Just like everyone else.” Lol.
109-knew it! it’s a conspiracy! brainwashing! Aaaaaah!
actually it was funny, we were at cup o’ joe today b/c it was cold and hot choklit is choklity goodness, and the conversation would be like…
Jacob: Blahdeblah, exams, blah
Meh. Nothing interesting’s going on. Meh. I also have a headache. Meh.
106-Sorry, can’t help you there. I would reccommend a metal one; they’re supposed to be the best (google search).
We’re doing cup stacking in gym. Anyone ever tried cup stacking? It’s boring. I hate it.
AFIHORUHEWNIEBA NEWS STOP MAKING ME SING TO YOUR BAD ENGLISH.

6- Not last week….. went to school at one for Exams.
So I tried to get in to the Land of the Muse, and things aren’t working out…yes, I made sure I was using “region”, but I’m not sure if I’m putting it in the right place. Will somebody post the link to wherever you sign in on Nation States?
We Administrators have tolerated the recent spate of NationStates-related posts, but we draw the line at links. Sorry!
Something about Technorati? I am confused. Yet again.
ELA tomorrow and the day after. Going half to math counts tomorrow, which I love and half to all-county, which is mandatory.
No snow. Rain if anything. Warm.
There should be a NationStates thread.
This is the random thread.
HEY remember that post where i asked what movie this was and nobody answered
? well i will tell all of you what movie it is ahem JURASSIC PARKhere it is againJURASSIC PARK
We should have a Legend of Zelda thread
115 ~ Ugh. Not cup stacking. It fails so hard. Dx
118 ~ Do a nation search for Purple Spaghetti. It’s in the Muse region.
115- I like cupstacking!
What movie what was?
122-Mafia chickens! Wheee!
115: Cup-stacking? Is that supposed to be a new-age sport or something? Haha…
122: Dude, I second that! I’ve beaten O of T twice, and now I’m working on Majora’s Mask.
I like cup stacking! It’s fun!
Here are some more soap carvings, this time by Purple Panda and Taiwan Hippo Fan:
I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking that the world needs a Mimi cookie cutter.
Yes…. strangely enough I want to eat that soap Mimi but..it’s soap. O_o They all look delicious actually. Good job!
hmmmm…yummy.
They look great! How did you change the colors?
Yeah, it looks like that bunny on the bottom has an ear bitten off. Somebody needs to make cookies!
Sweet, good carvings.
I made a bracelet out of orgami hot pink bunies half and in tall it’s cute.
he he guess what guys I’M AT SCHOOL of course this is fun but i better hurry this up i can’t remember where it is Ebeth but check around the previous blogs i’ll look when i get home:mrgreen:
Nice Soap!
WOW! I haven’t been on here in forever!
Hot pink bunnies are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We need a hot pink bunnie face that we can post.
() ()
*o*
I hope that turns out okay.
i feel slightly hyserical right now. like i’m gonna have a nervous breakdown or something. probably b/c we have midterms and i’m freaking b/c my friend from another skool wants to go to our dance and i hafta handle her guest form and crap. also i dont want to tell her to just give it up cuz that would kinda suck . . . but when/if she calls me back i think i’m gonna be like, no. just no. its not working.
Hi. My internet kicks the bucket in one minute. I have nothing meaningful to say.
~ THF
HAHAHAHA I should be studying for finals but instead I’m watching thedvd that came with the é›…-miyaivi- cd I bought today and IOGENGAELKNAG IT IS BEAUTIFUL I ♥ YOU MEEV.
Yay verily for de-stressing! You guys should take a break every so often and have a nice snack or just chill for an hour.
(142) I want to eat that… So much right now. And I still want to eat that soap. XD
140- My teacher was just talking about the Math Counts. If I’m superhyperincredibly lucky, I might make it. But I can’t do math under stress, so, well, so much for that. But you never know…
142-YAY! Looks very yummy.
I like all the marshmallows and soaps! I want one.
Tis muy froody!
Anna, I wish you told me you ate it, because I wanted to have some. *sobs* I guess I’ll have to make my own. Do you still have some of the pink icing?
You should put that podcast on Itunes. Then I can get it.
w00t! me luvs de fluffy marsh-bunny-mallow. *drools*
140 ~ I love math enough to do Math Counts, which I guess is comparable to Math Team. ♥
And I want to eat that bunny so badly.
151 ~ Hmm. That’s an interesting idea.
Hey, anyone planning on going to CTY lancaster? My friends have convinced me to sign up but I can’t figure out how! Help please?
What exactly is Math Counts?
Skiing tomorrow, finally! I can’t wait.
154 ~ I think our competition is February second, and I’m not getting any Muse stuff until my birthday, unfortunately, so
I’ll probably be wearing my “There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who don’t” shirt. Other than that…either jeans or a short black skirt with leggings and legwarmers, since I like pretending to be preppy like that (I’m more accurately described as a geek, and I’m proud of it!).
158 ~ It’s a competition. A team of four plus two alternates (I think) from each participating school goes to the regional competition where they participate in different rounds…there are two individual rounds and a team round if I remember correctly. I think winning schools and individuals go on to state competition.
D: Oh me and m typos…sigh. I spell all names wrong remember that when reading my posts.
(150) o__o My brother’s college is there…whoa. WHOA. I was there this summer that’s odd.
160 – That sounds like my Academic Games elective. I had my last class today, though. I get to do Art next semester.
. Do you guys play Equations, Linguishticks, Onsets, Propaganda, Presidesnts, or any other stuff like that?
159- I thought the info sheet I got said Feb. 7th. Let me go check…
I can’t find the sheet. But “seventh” does sound like “second”. If you went last year (apart from the crispness of you possibly seeing me and I seeing you way before I joined the MB), I could ask you questions on that to see if yours was the same as mine.
Who won 1st individual?
Where was it held?
Was it on a weekday or a weekend?
161 ~ Vassar, maybe? I think it’s over there somewhere. (I don’t live in Poughkeepsie.) But that’s cool!
162 ~ I don’t think we play any of that, no. Last year we used to play 24 though…have you ever done that?
(164) Ha, yes! It’s a really nice school. Yes random random of me but I thought it was weird aflhjakglad.
-goes to study-
We’re only allowed to go in 8th grade (though in our school you have to be in 9th grade math to participate).
GAPAs, my mom sent in permission for ze MuseCast. Post it!
Done!
hmm all these soaps are making me hungry. Like lemon sherbet chapstick from jamba juice.
I think I should make hot pink bunny sugar cookies and send them in
I was actually thinking about making a banana cream pie with a choklit kokopelli stuck on top.
hoorah for fridays.
what happened to the musecast thread? I didn’t find it anywhere here…and was able to get it because I bookmarked it, but it wouldn’t let me post something. hmm. *thinks hard.*
oh well
168- She saw your name on my shirt. I don’t think she’s here.
ooh. the comic for this muse gave me an inspiration. maybe we could make a online “store” and could make a menu of all the things you could buy at the “store”, and make cool things. ooh that sounds so fun.
Cupcakes…$5
Cakes $5
and then you could kinda make a story with this. yeah. it’s a good idea.
please, Mr. GAPA? i beg ye. i get on my hands and pray to thy almighty-ness. please, by the will of McDoogalotshimagderraloos, (whoever that is), PLEASE!
List of comments:
1. Where is the Musecast? I searched the MB, to no avail.
2. Margaret, where are you, and will I see you at the math counts competition?? What’s going on with that? First, you ask if I’ll be there, and then you say you don’t live in this area.
3. Another random calendar comment: Squirrel Appreciation Day is the 21st of January.
(138 Queenie) I sympathize. People are…people, well, we’ve established what people are, there’s no need to reiterate. But congrats on having cake! I have pie. Yum.
Winter formal’s tomorrow. I’m going shopping for crazy tights to wear with my dress.
I went to a poetry reading last night. Naomi Shihab Nye. Anyone know her?
(I hope this all is okay, since obviously an interschool competition kind of thing will be crawling with adults, and my mom has no problem with us meeting in a situation like that.)
178- oh wow, what happened? What’d he do?
GGGGRRRRRRR
They predicted ten inches of snow and Do you know what we get? 40ºweather and train!
AGGGGGGHHHHHH
Our Winter Glitter dance is today! YAYSIES! My dress is blue, my jewelry is silver, I am happy! First we go to a dinner, and then the dance, and then an afterparty! Yay!
By the way, my ski trip was really fun, but everything was really icy. I only fell once, which is not bad considering how utterly inexperienced and control-less I am. =D
[longrantpost]
All done. ♥ Thanks for letting me vent!
that was extremily long. (-:
I really adore pink bunnies
183-That sounds like lots of fun. Who’s your date?
184-Zarquon.
185-Hello. Are you new to the blog, or are you a reformed lurker?
Hey, PB&J?!?!?!
WEE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!
I need permission to use your Bog Snorkeling article in the tenth anniversary Muse in a science project.
Or one of the Gapas articles.
Hm, what do you say?
Oh, deear. My computer is beeing weird. It is giving me too many ee’s and I am having troublees with the Ee key.
EEeeke!
Buenas noches!
190 ~ I’m looking forward to this so so so much!
Tehe.
His running has slowed
His nose needs to be, um, blowed,
So please! No one give him a pill!” (Page 15, February 2003, Muse magazine)
These two passages show that Pwt is, in fact, male.
Squeeeee!
190-It’s set where I live, and we don’t even have a math team. Anyway, that is so not Old Orchard shopping mall, I can’t even tell you. It’s a horrible movie.
You’re talking about Mean Girls? With Lindsay Lohan? She’s hot, but the movie was laaaaaaaameee and painfully bad… augh! hatehatehatehate!!!!!!!
mehmehmehmehmeh,
198- Phan. How phantastic. lol.
It was pretty sad. xD
204- They have a MathCounts class coming up this summer. Unfortunately, they’re not free.
You can more for yourself at artofproblemsolving.com
IT’S SNOWING! IT’S SNOWING! HALLELUJAH!
curious and questioning, what about your teacher?? Why did she/he mention me?? I am still confuzzled!
Is it snowing for Bobby too?
208 – fr00dy! I finally got to go snowboarding today! w00t!
(210),
Yes, we have snow. I think we’re supposed to get about an inch. I was just about to put on my boots and go for a walk.
207 ~ It won’t help me this summer anyway, unless I fail eighth grade (ain’t gonna happen), so it doesn’t matter how much they cost.
208 ~ D
We got snow! we got snow! we got snow! we got snow!
Sorry. Ebeth is insanely happy. Think about it. She’s a native yooper who’s just seen real snow for the first time in about two years. What more can she say?
It’s snowing here, too! And we’ve got a lot of snow on the ground.
PIE!! *pies all*

Hmm… while I’m in here I should make some more pies for my side…
Oh my! I guess everyone is getting snow! do you all live near me? Well, Ohio’s not exactly near me, so I guess not.
[about the guy from FF] But I heart the random thread random facts
I must now save the edible banana!
Dx
It’s snowing here, too. Huzzah!
meh. me is bored.
I went to Half-Priced Books. Got two Heinleins, one Adams, and one Pratchett. Yayayay!!
222 ~ Lucky. The books sound good.
Although I can’t say I know who Heinlein is.
220 – we haven’t even had finals yet! We have them this week. *dies*
So you may not see me much.
I want tomorrow off so badly.
226- yay, Peter Sellers. I haven’t seen it, but I’ve read the book..
(218),
The bunny hoodies are Musery’s most popular single item, I think. I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying yours.
234 – Congrats on the grade. I had an espanol quiz today and I hope that I did okay. Is recordar an “ar” of “er” ended verb? We had to conjugate, like, everything.
blergish. piano being tuned. brought hammered dulcimer to skool. people gawked etc. got Sir Thursday out of skool library, they FINALLY got it, ‘ooray, planning to read my new shiny heinlein soon, going over to sara’s, no homework, ‘ooray, tired, v. tired actually, have to have mom sign progress report, it’s an a+ anyways, ren faire thursday, meh, getting animal crossing sunday, ‘ooray
and that’s the news for today.
235 (Kiara)- Recordar, with an ar.
234 (metalfairy)- DDR music is terribly addictive. So is J-pop. (Although they’re often interchangeable…) My roomie burned me a J-pop CD and I am listening to it constantly.
(237) Ooh who’s on that CD?
-is shamelessAnd Naruto ate my soul for about a year and then the recent manga got boring and it stopped alkdjghadga but now I need to get back into it for the timeskip anime OHMANFSHS;AJKWHAT.238 (Axa)- Erm…Right now, Gackt. ♥ I think there’s some Do as Infinity and Asian Kung Fu Generation and Pillows, and the rest of the songs I don’t recognize. (it does not come with titles.) I’m still not caught up on the Naruto manga, so I cannot say for its boringness.
Is anyone going to respond to my amazing thing about Pwt’s gender? ANYONE, ANYONE??????? Fine. If you think it’s less than amazing, BE THAT WAY. Hmph.
237- Meep. We were reading an article in jazz band one day, and it talked about DDR. My band teacher said, “What’s that? Dunces and Dragons?”
Harharhar.
238-YAY Naruto.
236-Which book did you get?
239-Do As Infinity! Gotta love it.
J-pop is addictive. It really is.
241-? That’s all i have to say. Just ? Meaning, your band teacher did not just diss D&D and DDR all in one go. It must have been a big mistake. Really.
Math Counts is February sixth, according to my math teacher. The website says February second. Oh noes!
244-I don’t know anything about MathCounts dates, but I do know tht there is a different important math competition on February 6 and it seems odd that both would be on the same day. Your math teacher is probably confused.
Just really fast…
can someone tell me which issue the article on chochineal (not sure it that’s how you spell it) bugs was in? My history teacher was talking about them and I can’t find it. Thx.
March 2005: “Seeing Red,” by Tom Eisner. Cochineal.
Thanks much!
219- Oh, okay then
220- Yeah. Painful.
244-Ha! Ha! Someone else is in mathcounts ha!
/gradster(1)
237: What’s J-pop? Japanese pop?
249: Thankies. Ah, shy guys. Just try to make him laugh! Say something stupid / funny. Seriously, it works.
arggh…. in gym class my brother was happily floor hockey-ing along.
5. If we explained our countries and stuff, they could search us, and then we would be in big trouble for hating him
254-No, you can put whatever you want as a return address for the U.S.
Hi everyone! WOW! I haven’t been here in a long time! I’ve had tons of stuff going on! Do any of you guys have crazy weather? The daffodils had started blooming when it snowed afew days ago. How weird is that? Hey! It’s January! Have any of you guys had robins in your yard yet?
256 (Axa)- Ah…Mizerable…? …Maybe?
AHH TAIWANESE ROCK BANDS ARE AWESOME. Not to mention hawtzorz.
I always say ‘America’ or ‘U.s.’ or ‘Dear Leader’, depending on context.
258: awesome… not! scandinavian bands are far superior
SNARK SPORK.
All you need is love. And punctuation.
259 (FS)- [Insert deity] forbid that someone else’s tastes in music should differ from yours.
Yeah, February sixth.
I might be going to the glasses place to start the contact getting process. -crosses fingers-
Talkin ’bout respect, sistas~!
Circumvent?
you won’t believe this, but i’m typing this on a wii. awesome.
266: i didn’t know you could type on wiis. i thought they were videogames or something?
266-nice. Make a mii of me! short brown hair, brown eyes, glasses. XD
There aren’t enough limericks on this thread.
A young schizophrenic named Struther,
Who learned of the death of his Brother,
Said, “I know that its bad,
But I don’t feel too sad.
After all, I still have each other.”
There’s a wonderful family called Stein:
There’s Gert and there’s Ep and there’s Ein.
Gert’s poems are bunk,
Ep’s statues are junk,
And no one can understand Ein.
Archimedes, the well known truth-seeker,
Jumping out of his bath, cried “Eureka!”
He ran half a mile,
Wearing only a smile,
And became the very first streaker.
The great poet, John Donne,
Was wont to admonish the Sunne,
“You busie old foole,
lie still and keep coole,
For i am in bed, having funne.”
There’s also the one about the young man from Saint-Paul, which would be self-contradictory if it were told at all.
270- They are videogame plaforms, but they have internet access.
I carved Chad out of soap this weekend. I also send a picture to the GAPAs. GAPAs? Did you like him? His arms are rather messed up.
He’s lovely. I’ll post him when I get a chance. It may not be until the weekend, though.
curious and questioning, I am STILL confused about what your teacher said. And you live one or two hours away from where I live, according to the MP thread that I was lurking on this morning.
That’s very close to Old Norse.
search “cthulhu license plate” on google image search and look at the license plates and laugh. It’s hilarious
Meh. Ren Faire tonight. Nobody knows the dances. It’s gonna suck like he**. Seriously. I’m playing the dulcimer, tho. That’s pretty kool. I also have an immensely fr00dy dress.
(272 Queenie) I know I’ve posted it a million times, but seeing as it’s my favorite…
There once was a man from Melbourne
Who was hit on the head with a wombat
when they asked him if it hurt,
he said “no not bit
you can do it again if you like”
I recently saw the film version of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Hello y’all. It feels like I haven’t been on in ages, but Oh well.
I’m preparing for National History Day contest, which is the 31st. I really want to make it to the state competition. My topic is the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. Anyone heard of that?
Bleh. Off to do homework.
ah . . . does anyone know what a Zwinky is?
290 ~ Yeah, I know about that. I learned about it in history. Pretty morbidly interesting. Good luck!
Sigurd is an awesome name. If I ever have a son, I have been thoroughly tempted for years to name him Thor. Not just after the god, but after the eminent Thor Heyerdahl.
I interviewed a mechanical engineer named Sigurdur for an upcoming Muse Q&A. He goes by Siggi, though. He’s from Iceland.
225- Henlein varies. It’s not all good. Stranger in a Strange Land sucked *still disappointed*. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress pwned.
226- The mouse that roared was a good, funny book. Movie?
244- Website? *googles it* Ooh. *adds to favorites*
I have to get offline.
The Ren Faire went pretty well. People actually remembered the words to the songs. omg. And we actually got the brannel right. Everyone clapped after I played the hammered dulcimer. ‘ooray. At least it’s over. *whew*
(289) Man, your school needs to plan better field trips. Although, it is good to know how horrible coal mines are…And wallabies are marsupials of some sort, right? GAPAs? XD -guessing here-
(290) Ugh, I remember NHD. Horrible horrible essay writing. Didn’t help that my teacher had never heard of my topic. T_T Good luck, though~!
(on 216) GRRR. I could have sworn I posted that on the pie war thread. Sorry, people. I guess I clicked the wrong window… meh.
In other news, I was just on one of my fave author’s web sites, and in the part where they listed their favorite musik it had a band called Muse, along with Coldplay and the Beatles, both of which I love. So I’m skipping off to iTunes to check them out now.
Penty- yesshhh fahrenheit.
drool.
Have you ever heard of them?
298- which author?
293: as in the author of Kon-Tiki? coolness.
Ebeth- Nah, he’s just not hip with the new technology
¡Tenemos una demora!
277-Misery. I’d be outraged, too. Yesterday, in PHY 105, I was teaching people how to convert square cm to square m. It was horrid. And these were college kids. Aack!
Kiki- Sweet. Ren. Faires pwn. Especially in costume… I miss ours…
285- Whooo, Count Basie!
290- Nat. History Day? *celebrates*
23 Jan, 1989 : Salvador Dalà died. *mourns* I had the date wrong, and thought it was tomorrow….. *mourns more*
11 May, 1904 was his birthday.
291- Aren’t they those little chatroom people advertised on random sites?
Delaydelaydelay *does calc hw*
I’m loving how it’s almost the end of the month, and we’re still on the second version of this thread. Ahh, blessed peace~
303 — i know that . . . are they safe? what exactly do they do?
also, GAPAs, how do you start a new RRR story?
295 ~ Lucky! My stupid school doesn’t let us take it until next January. fail
What’s the date of Math Counts for you? (final test) Mine is the sixth…
(306),
Generally by asking for one.
309 — because i have a couple of stories i started that we could use. in theory, anyway
Ooh, I almost forgot! My drama/band director picked me to do this playwriting workshop which should be awesome. We’re going to learn about character development and stuff, which I’m sure a lot of you are already experts at, but this should be really good for me.
we have 311 comments. Thats wierd. I’m bored. Its the week end. Yayayyayay.
