Life, the universe, pies, hot-pink bunnies, world domination, and everything
Wow am i the first post? Awesome!! Anyway, i was going to say that I took the SAT and got my scores back. I got a 1600 overall, which is good for being in 8th grade. I took it to get into the CTY cmap thingy.
Ha! That’s cool! But why isn’t there- oh, nevermind, Kokopelli’s obviously the flute in the band. w00t! So… anyone here watch food network? Wot’s your favorte sow if you do?
1- Congrats! I took the SAT in 6th grade too, but I’ve log forgotten my scores. VF got hers recently, though.
Meep! Another Ghost Thread!! Will the “Happy B-day D.A. stay there, or will it *poof* disappear too?
yeah. where did the one with the soap go???
1- Your going to CTY? Me too! What location? I think I’m in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (I blame my friends, who say baltimore is too “urban”)
I’m going to the Carlisle one. Lancaster was my second choice. What class r u taking? I’m taking Etymology. I took one about codes last year which was so fun.
Question for the GAPAs. Do you just sit here all day and moderate our comments? it that your job? Or do you do something else… Just asking.
7~ i think the GAPAs must do something else, like write for muse, and eat chocolate
6- Philosophy of Mind
All our other jobs are the price we pay for blogging and chocolate.
ah… both those classes sound awesome. I’d love to take them both. I love etymology and philosophy of mind sounds so cool too! I’m taking creative writing at a local version of CTY (MITY!!) It shall be awesomely fun. Craiggy Wriggy! Craiggy Wriggy!
(7, 8, 10),
As anyone who has ever seen the phrase “Your Comment Is Awaiting Moderation” must have suspected, we do have other jobs. Rosanne edits Stanford Medicine magazine. I’m a news editor at Science magazine. PB&J and Lady Bunniful do various odds and ends. All of us spend a fair amount of time at computers, though, and because we cover a wide range of time zones (U.S. Pacific, U.S. Eastern, and British), we manage to keep the posts flowing, more or less.
plus you have to disied what Q&A your doing and reshersh that
Nice, Purple panda! WOW- you have several things up on the blog now! Hey- I think you’re one of the Quaker-bloggers, aren’t you?
GAPA’s- when I click on the “happy birthday D. A. ” thread, all that comes up is something saying that I was looking for something that isn’t there. Is it just my computer? I want to be able to say happy birthday to him.
It’s not his birthday yet.
12- ah darn. and here i was thinking you were really evil, demented aliens using your “Your Comment Is Awaiting Moderation” message to send subliminal messages to convince everyone on the blog of the fact that choklit is very very bad for us so that you can have more chocklit to dispense to the hungry man-eating aligator that eats the letters that the editors throw into the FMP but are blown away by a cross-breeze into the hot pink bunny make and eventually the planet that you live on, covered in hot pink bunnies, where they are eaten by your man-eating aligator, who is, consequentiantly, pink.
weeeeeeeeeeeeeee mwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! *pies the GAPA* *pies all newcomers* *pies all veterans of the pie war* pies self, for good measure* i looooooooooooooooooooove saturdays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Drat. They’re on to us.
Oooh, another conspiracy! To quote ebeth, “Just what we need!”
Dun dun dun…
why does no one ever quote me with a nice, concise “”?
again, not what I meant to say. Stop changing my expressions!
20+21- ?? Well, we wouldn’t quote you with a Mr. Green ( ) anyway. It would be more of a “”
(17) Technically, it’s a crocodile, but the other details are spot on.
Hmpf. I say something fitting and the admins change it. If Robin Williams can swear, so can I.
(24) But Robin Williams also chooses not to swear, depending on the venue.
17- Actually, your information about the FMP is wrong. I have confirmation from Kokopelli himself.
25: I’m watching some stand up of his on youtube. Funny as hell, and he swears a lot. and it’s really funny.
Well, Fridgey, we’re not saying you can’t swear, just not here…and, look, you got away with a little…now I’m curious as to what you wanted to say…lol.
1- I went to CTY too! i got a 1080 in 7th grade. i took the St. Mary’s river ecology course, but I think it’s gone now. have fun!
is fun and I’m alone here.”>Math and Math Geeks
At mathcounts state today on the bus, a friend said he didn’t understand my sweatshirt. I tried to explain. I said MuseBlog was an online forum. “What’s a forum?” People from all over the world talk to each other by posting comments on threads. He finally after that grasped that it didn’t have a concrete, physical existance. I think he might’ve understood that but was trying to annoy me. He still didn’t get the posts and threads and why it wasn’t better than talking to friends on myspace. I said I wanted to explain by showing him but he didn’t read Muse yet so I couldn’t. I said I’d bring in a copy of the magazine and explain Monday. Do you all have any ideas on how I can explain? I’m thinking of printing a screenshot or two to help. Which issue should I bring, if not the current one? (For some subscription problem, I have double copies of Jan.-Mar. 2007)
I shouldn’t try any fancy HTML that I don’t fully understand. That’s a link to the Math and Math Geeks thread.
(30) Why not give him those three, if you’ve got spares? Muses are like Girl Scout cookies: one is never enough.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
That’ll probably be good, but maybe start with one. It’s overwhelming. Maybe the most recent? I’m also taking screenshots of the main page, the top of a thread (this one), and the bottom of a thread (this).
The above was a reply to 32.
33- large animal veterinarian, for COWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
14 – yep!
I love doing muse stuff. All my doodles during class (what? I mean, I’m taking notes!) are of the muses and other muse-related things, and I work on MuseCast all the time. I’m also compiling a book of all the muser’s poems and songs from the poems and songs threads. I also like creating graphs, etc. I’m always looking for other things to make graphs about. For some of them I make excel charts organizing all the information, then compile them into graphs.
I cut my hair. Very short. I luv it.
(singing) I have short hair, I have short hair, whee!!
33- I want to be an ornithologist when I grow up. I love those smilie guys!
38- I just grew my hair longer! * does the “I have longer hair, WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dance” *
It’s really cloudy here; I think there is supposed to be rain overnight and in to tommorow. What’s going on where you live?
YAY for the smilie guys!!!
This will now be, a recurring thing. I’m sure of it.
38- I know Isn’t it nice?
38- how short?
Purple Panda: *Looks at banner* We need a Muse Academy that looks like that!
38: That’s cool! Is it just ear/chin length short, or is it spikably (as in, you’re able to put gel in your hair + spike it up) short?
This weekend has been absolutely craptastic. Somebody jacked my calculator from my bag at the mall yesterday…so now I’m REALLY screwed in stats!!(I wasn’t doing so chipper in that class to begin w/!)! And…whoever took the calc also decided to take my penguin button (it was pinned to my bag) as well. I swear, if I EVER find out who jacked my stuff, THEY WILL PAY! Now I have to scrape up $100 for a new calc!
I worked for ~8hrs today. Sometimes, customers will tell me about their personal lives. I figure that maybe they’re just lonely, and need someone to talk to, so I usually don’t mind that much. But today, this lady came in, and she was practically in tears. She started telling me about several of her family members/friends, who had all either recently died, or are dying. And she described it in such detail – way too much detail. After a few minutes of talking to her, I was almost in tears as well, and I had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what to say to her! I just asked if she needed a hug, but I couldn’t think of anything REMOTELY comforting to say…I’m so stupid sometimes.
Well, hopefully next week will be better than this one has been. Maybe I’ll get to buy my prom dress sometime next week. Kelsey and I went to DEB yesterday + tried a few on. I can’t decide between two. One is this wild-looking, form-fitting green dress, w/ black tulle over it, and a TON of sparkles! The hemline is really crazy/asymmetrical/ruffly, too. The other one is silver, and it reminds me of something a Greek Muse would wear…Kinda toga-ish. It’s a bit more romantic than the first one. Augh, which one should I pick?!
I’m thinking about getting purple highlights in my hair before prom…
It smells like summer rain here not winter rain. Can anyone else tell the difference?
Green dress!!! It sound much more pretty, though you didn’t describe the second one very well.
paula: that’s good, i mean, your like, human!
simon: that is absoloutly atrochious.
randy: im going to go both ways, its ok, its human, but the idea is sort of boring.
twighlight rain! DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, GET ANY COLOR OF HIGHLIGHTS THAT ARE NOT BROWN,BLONDE,BRUNETTE, OR WHATEVER COLOR YOUR HAIR IS! U ARE KILLIN ME HERE!
33- Oh, umm, *hides*
44- Ooh, that is a tough situation. I think just listening and talking to those people helps, though.
Ooh, the green one sounds pretty, but I don’t really know what they look like in detail(though, after the feb mag, I do know what you look like (wait- You are emogrl, right? I think that was your name change. but I could be wrong)).
42- Yupsys!
43, 44- A half inch shorter than chin length. It’s POOFY!!!
Me ish watching Star Trek. Very good. More :D.
47- Randy: Yo, your post was OFF DA HOOK, man! Great job.
Paula: I like it! Very entertaining.
Simon: THAT was what was atrocious!
45- Yeah. Summer rain is, well, summer-y, and winter rain is, well, winter-y. Get the idea?
I CANNOT WAIT ONE DARN WEEK LONGER FOR MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got back from my first scuba dive/class today. It’s awesome!
wheeeeee I got accepted into private school yay!!!!!!
I have long hair. down past my shoulders onto my back. Longest hair on a guy in school.
52 – Cool! Where?
53 – Congratulations!
Taiwan Hippo Fan just got her hair cut for Locks of Love. She donated 12 inches.
I’m growing my hair for Locks of Love…it’s taking a really long time. My hair grows really slowly. It’s long enough to cut for Locks of Love now, but I want to have long-ish hair when I’m done cutting it, so…
Is fellowmuser the same person as press3333…? They both have little conversations within their posts.
48-I think any hair coloring is crazy, for a couple of reasons: 1:people don’t really care what your hair color is, 2:hair coloring can damage your hair, and 3:I think it’s kind of silly how much attention people pay to their hair, considering it is dead matter and when we find a hair in our food, we consider it gross. Well, there’s my opinion; I hope I don’t sound too mean!
OK, now, I know there are some Quaker MBers here, so if/when you go to your meeting today, ask if anybody is sombody here and I will too! We could faintly know people who end up having the same interests.
*Click*
GAPAs – we’re finishing up MuseCast, and we were wondering how you pronounce Larry Gonick. We’re pretty sure we know how to say it, but we’re not 100% sure about the o vowel.
(57) Rhymes with “sonic.”
Great, thanks!
54- There’s a guy on my street named Fred who has hair like that. He’s my brother’s idol.
I’m just sittin’ here playing Xmas tunes on my harmonica.
ok, MBers, i gotta go 4 the weekend. c u all l8r!
62-AAAAAAUUUGH! GARY WILL EAT YOUR EYES! DOOOOOOM!
My opinion on hair is another proof of my odd, twisted mind. i like long hair on guys, short for girls. Short hair is so much more comfortable and you don’t have to spend hours every day making it look all pwetty.
60-He’s my idol now too. Just because his name is fred. YAY FRED! i love that name.
me pater’s been editing the high school musical videos (from the middle skool play) and burning like a million bazillion copies, so my comp uses have been few and short…
Xkcd is my life now.
as is BIKING! It’s finally frolicking weather. the first time i went biking in like months was thursday, and jacob and i raced and tied exactly even. we were really close the whole way. it was kind of freaky. But i had a dirtbike so it was harder. when i was on mom’s bike (yestiddy) i went a lot faster. (she has a hybrid) But yeah, and we frolicked at montrose, and played wallball, and danny hit me with it (owww) He was like “nose goes!” and i was last so he goes “i’m germany” and i’m just like “what…i’m confused…oh bleep!” and we went to tory’s and watched shakespeare in love and ate cookies. And i’m not really hyper now, no not at all. we went to contest yestiddy and got a II, II on stage and I in sightreading and i must leave, for ’tis pater again.
44-According to your descriptions of the two, I’d say go with the green dress. It sounds quite pretty! And if it’s sort of a light emerald green type color, ’twill match your hair and skin tone quite nicely.
Hm…purple highlights? I don’t know…maybe, but if you’re gonna go for some crazy color, on you I’d have to say either blue or green…but, of course, it depends on what shade your talking about. Light, or dark?
45-Yes, I can tell the difference, but where are you?
49-Yeah, that was her.
60-Haha! Really? Does he want long hair like Fred? My brother’s always like, “I’m adopting (insert one of my guy-friend’s name here), so now he’s my brother!”…2 days later…”I’ve decided to disown (guy-friend’s name here)!”…it’s pretty amusing.
So I know that we have a few homeschoolers on the Blog, which means they’ll probably understand this story better than most (as it’s pretty much being told for their benefit), but I think everyone else will get something from it, too.
Friday night, I went to my friends 18th b-day party, and pretty much everyone there (except for one person) was homeschooled, so at one point, we were talking about what it was like being homeschooled in different situations. Like, in drivers’ ed, for example, we were like, “My teacher would always be like, ‘You’re homeschooled, so you can drive when the other kids can’t.’, and it got so annoying!”. Also, we talked about when people find out that we’re homeschooled, and they’re like, “Do you, like, have any friends?”, and we’re like, “Nooo, we live alone in our little shacks all day, and we don’t know anyone, and this is actually the first time I’ve been out in a week.”…which one of my friends actually has done before…it was pretty funny.
So, yeah, that was a pretty much pointless story, but I was bored, and felt like telling it, so there.
33- Engineer or theoretical physicist.
38- Wheeeee, short hair!
44- Ugh, sounds horrid. Poor girl… And about Prom: I’d go with the crazy green and black one… Aargh, that reminds me, I should go shopping for a dress, too… The highlights sound ultra-fr00dy! *wishes she had neon blue hair* Seriously. It will look cool.
50- Whooooo, Star Trek! *live long and prosper sign*
54- Wheee. There are a few guys with hair about that long in my school… I fully approve of guys having long hair, and occasionally advocate it. Agh, one of my friends had the nicest hair, and then he cut it! I was so sad…. DON’T cut your hair!
63- I agree! My hair is pretty short…really short in the back, and angled down in the front. I’m debating just pixie-cutting it… But I’d rather dye it if I did that. Neon blue.
I have two essays to type, and I’m procrastinating once more. I was pretty much gone from the house for the last two days…*sigh*
Yesterday was fun, though. I went to art, worked on my school project [line designs of d00m], and then stopped at home before going over a friend’s house for a party. Heh, only 5 people were there, and I actually knew all but one of them. And the person I didn’t know was cool, because he and I got into discussing what did and didn’t happen between the HP books and movies. Then the girl who was having the party and I started going on about Star Trek, which was really quite fun. Yay for geeky parties!
Hmm, what else? We were on YouTube. Heh, found a video of Rocket Man being performed by the Shat. It was so funny. We were literally crying with laughter. Also found a video of Bowie and Bing Crosby singing some variation of The Little Drummer Boy, which was weird, mostly because Bowie looked more or less “normal.”
Then came the customary roast of my mother. Always funny. Ahh, the stories I could tell…
On the downside, my friend talked me into this annoying thing called “casual dating,” which I had not intended to participate in. I hate when friends do that. I have a few who can talk me in/out of more or less anything. Or just guilt me in/out of it, which works just as well. Meh. Yay, boredom party?
I really need to get on with my family history project. I can do the paragrabs on each side of the family, but, as for the intro, conclusion, and other paragrab about “how these ‘roots’ nourished” me, I am lost. Hopelessly. It’s due tomorrow, and has to be typed.
I also need to do the NHS essay. It’s all a load of pomp. Ugh. And someone signed my paper in blue, when it’s clearly stated that only black ink is to be used. Guess who’s going to take a hairline brush to it to fix that? SM!
PSSAs next week. Will probably finish my long rant and post it tomorrow on the TWL/DL thread. It has a section on the PSSAs.
Also trying to talk mumsy into letting me go see 300 later today….
Hmm. I should get to work. I like procrastination, though. It’s relaxing.
I made pancakes for the last few weekends. I’m getting less messy! Whooooo!
Anyone have a good website about general astronomy? It’s the one event in which I am totally screwed. Wheee, Science Olympiad. Anyone else doing that?
I’m off to type up my schoolwork now. Really, I am! Ugh.
63: Congratulations for your II on stage & I in sight reading!! What kind of contest though? Band? Orchestra? Choir?? Hope you had a good time!
Speaking of musical contests, Friday was orchestra festival for eighth grade. We got a one in sight reading and on stage, which, according to our instructor, was a “frickin miricle” Then we went to Buddy’s Pizza and spilled about three cups of pop, got sugar packets all over the floor, some kids decided to have a spitball fight (eew), and ate four pizzas. The waiters/waitresses were relieved when we left. Oh! And we bought our teacher a sundae because it was his idea to take us there. All in all, it was one of the best days of my life.
33- Biotechnologist
Hello March!
It’s finally beginning to feel like spring where I am.
44-No idea. I really cannot help you there. I’m not even going to my 8th grade graduation, to tell you the truth. So there you have it–I am not a fashion expert by any means.
65-Try the NASA website, or Space.com. It’s my experience that the questions are usually concentrated on the solar system, if that helps. As for your essay, I would recommend you ball shamelessly and wax nostalgic about how your grandmother was a factory worker, your grandfather a drunk, your family climbed to greatness helped by the footholds of labor on the great cliff face of the American Dream, etc. etc.
I have ISAT testing next week. Prepare for boredom. Also, my Lord of the Flies take-home test was astounding, even if I do say so myself.
aside from PB&J, i think i have the most name changes of all the MBers!!! w00t!!!
68 – i’m not going 2 have 2 read LF until 8th grade, but i think i might just read it for fun. would u reccommend it?
65- *remembers her nhs essay* it was terrible. I got in though. Maybe it wasn’t as terrible as I thought…
thf and pp! great musecast for march! I went to the web site and heard it .I think it’s odd how many people think pwt is I boy.And I liked how you ponound pwt.
56- I think not. I am THE one and only Samantha… who is about to head off to piano competition. Wish me luck!
I saw a sneak peek of The Last Mimzy yesterday. Did I say that already?
63- Didn’t I introduce you to that? (xkcd, I mean)
My tamagotchi is an apple.
I just saw something HILARIOUS on YouTube. Kricket saw it too. Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show!
“Talk to the hot dog, it can read minds!”
LOL.
73-don’t think so, no. /if you did, i wasn’t paying attention XD
66-band
So people…BIKING. I lurves it. How about you peoples? Snipville is the most amazing place to bike because it’s got a whole bunch of random alleys and little side streets and long driveways that go all the way through, but you can’t get too lost because everything’s just straight lines. Anyhoo, bill and i went to her grandpa’s house where she’s gonna live for a while and then wandered around aimlessly. Because biking wins at life.
The Last Mimzy looks good. When does it come out? 62. I’m in VA. It rained last night but it’s 70 today!!! It’s actually warm!! We had our band festival yesterday and we got all superiors!!! Yay!! Random question, does anyone have a teacher that, um, uses foul language? My science teacher told me that i did a, and i quote, “Damn good job” On one of my papers, in from of the class. And he reffered to a female dog as a b****, which isn’t bad, but one of the girls asked if he could use another word and he wouldn’t!! He makes me mad.
any1 seen “charlie the unicorn” on youtube???????????????
any1 play runescape?
SHHHHUUUNNN the non believer!!! SSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!
76- You must be new. Welcome! *pies* You should look at the last march medley thread; wherein the video to which you allude is discussed at length.
yo any1 home?????
hello?
i`ve been waiting…
yo yo yo yo !
sad so happy/happy so sad?
shadowkat- i am homeschooled and I know what you mean!
whenever anyone finds that I’m homeschooled they give one of the following responses:
kids:
1.What?
2.You’re sooooo lucky!
3.Why? (the most annoying)
4.That would be so cool, but I’d miss my friends.
adults:
1.what?
2.I’d love to do that with my kids, but I just don’t have the patience
3. …or we don’t get along
4. …or I’m too busy
People just don’t get it.
I get a kick out of how doctors are so concerned about ‘socialism’ and stuff. i mean, I go to places with my mom or dad everyday, and I see more people and learn more things than I would if I was cooped up in school all day. BUT, I DO do schoolwork. I was in dance with my friend the other day, and this other girl found out that she was homeschooled and she was like “that’s so cool! It would be so awesome if I didn’t have to do schoolwork!” heheh.
Oh, and there’s also the standard questions I get asked:
1.What time do you have to get up?
2.Do you have to take tests?
As for hair/hair dying, I think a lot of guys look great with long hair. And I want to get blue streaks in my hair as an experiment, but I might not because I & hearts ; my present hair which is dark blonde. I hate that everybody is dying their hair blonde. People should just stick with their natural color. My mom has gray hair and she looks GREAT.
Although, I have to admit I like being known as blonde, which I discovered the other day when somebody said I had brown hair. grgh.
76- I have.
Sshhhhuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnuh.

76 – don’t you dare bring that up again!!! i was scarred for life when i saw that video. (the reason being that i said “chaaarlieeee…chaaarlieeee…” to someone i know and they shoved their pencil up my ##########. (you don’t want to know.)
forry- this is not a chatroom and therefore responses won’t appear right away. Please don’t post one word posts.
85-Oh, I know! that happens aaaaalllllllllllllll the time! It’s so annoying, and there all like, “Man, I wish I could sleep in every day!”, and I’m like, “Nooo…”. It’s pretty amusing, actually, when you think about it. What state do you live in?
GAPA’s, did anyone get my HPB work of art (’cause it’s not technically a drawing, per se…)?
Charlie the Unicorn is my LIFE. All my friends have seen it at least once, and at least five of us know the entire candy mountain song (and sing it every chance we get) XD
Forry, please stop with the random lines of punctuation and multiple one-sentence posts. And no, i don’t play runescape although i must have at least five characters by now. None of them have gotten beyond the training thing though, either i got bored and left or my comp went whacko.
75-schneids does sometimes, but it’s band, so we usually deserve it. but i don’t really care about language one way or the other. it annoys me when people swear just for the sake of swearing, or to try to shock/offend people, but otherwise i really don’t care how people express themselves.
It’s girl scout cookie time! What’s everybody’s fav? I like thin mints and tagalongs (the peanut butter choklit ones) XD
45: Yeah, I know what you mean. I think winter rain smells more strong/fresh…It smells like winter rain here right now.
46: Yeah, I probably will go for the green! The silver one is pretty, but I think it’s a bit too “sweet” for me (and the green dress is cheaper!).
48: Why?(I’m really weird; I love crazy stuff like that!)?
49: Yep, I’m emogrl.
50: Sweet, you could spike it!
55: Good for her! I donated mine a few yrs ago, but I only managed ten inches.
56: Some of my friends think about hair like that. And then there are strange people like myself, who enjoy seeing what they look like w/ various hair colors/body piercings (I haven’t started experimenting w/ the body piercings yet, but I plan to after my bday this summer).
63: I love short hair, too. I can’t stand it when my hair is below my shoulders.
64: Well, I’m glad so many ppl think I should go for the green one, b/c that’s the one I’m probably going to get! Blue would be a neat color for highlights, too, but I’d probably look like an elf or something if they were green!
65: Try looking for a dress at DEB – Most of the dresses at the one here are
There must be some conspiracy among the higher levels of the Girl Scouts and the cookie manufactures. There has to be something addictive added, because I’ve tried to eat just one or two, and I can’t. You always end up eating the whole box.
92- Carmel DeLites. Yummmmmmmmmmmmm…..
I’d love bright red highlights.
76-78, 80-84, 87, 88: Welcome! (I’m guessing you’re new to the blog). Please visit the “Welcome, Newcomers!” thread and read the rules and HG2MB.
Oh, Samoas are da bomb!!!
55- Texas but I’m pretty sure that PADI (dive organization) has shops/offices all over the place. Next week is open water diving. Fun!
And on the topic of girl scout cookies, we got ours yesterday. Thin Mints and those lemon ones. They are half gone already.
I’m homeschooled. Yeah, people usually ask me:
1. Do you get to sleep late? (NO)
2. But what about friends and stuff? (I get around. Groups and stuff. And climbing.)
The biggest benefits I get out of homeschooling are
1. Flexible schedule.
2. Sometimes go work at the library or bookstore.
3. move at my own pace.
The one thing I don’t like about it is that almost everyone who homeschools does it for “religious” reasons. The homeschool groups are ALL fundamentalist Christian. It’s a bit annoying.
I want to go to school for high school though.
SPRING BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
64- I know what you mean!
44- The silver one.
98- i used to home school, but then mom was like: no, u need to enlarge ur social circle so u can be like me and talk and talk and talk and *i fall asleep* [three hours later] and talk and talk and HEY! look at me when i’m talking to you! *i wake up* anyhoo, u need more friends *cough* and so…. *i get plunked in nasty germ infested middle school*
seriously, i used to never get sick. NOW i permanently have a cold, or the flu, or strep, or some terminal disease that no ones ever thought to look for. i swear, those public schools are giant bacteria/virus incubators. () and also a “healthy” dose of social-ness seems to include:
1. gossip about people i a. have never met, b. don’t want to meet, and c. dont want to know about.
2. germs
3. germophobia, due to #2
4. rubber lunches at the cost of talking to friends instead of having a “responsible” adult drive to nearest resturaunt
and
5. people with no sense of what is good to read constantly asking, “why do you have hot pink bunnies/pwt pwns/campaign stickers all over your binder/locker?”
ok im done ranting against public schools. sigh……………………
ahhhhhhhhhhhh i ♥ ♥ ♥ weekends and holidays… to bad i have school 2morrow…..
98-Yeah, I know what you mean…everyone automatically assumes I’m Christian, but I’m not, and it’s like, agh! Yeah.
57- Can I give you anything?
I would love to be homeschooled, but I would miss my friends.
97- “samoas” is not PC. They’re Carmel DeLites now.
What? Samoas=Samoas. There’s a box within walking distance. It says samoas like it always did and is purple. I=confused.
I like public school. Mostly. I can’t imagine not seeing these people every day. And we’d never have even met without school. We’re all different religions and we don’t really have anything in common that we’d still be at if not for school. I’d be so lonely.
forry? The blog is like, sometimes kind of silent for long periods of time.
I heart girl scout cookies. My faves are thin mints, tagalongs, and samoas (my box said samoas, not carmel delites or whatever).
I really need a hug. People can be so idiotic sometimes.
UNSTUNSTUNSTIREALLYLIKECHICKENNOODLEUNSTUNST.
(85) Oh yeah at long hair. No srsly best thing since sliced bread.
I am on so many types of crazy right now so everyone just pretned I’m not here.
Oh NO! PLEASE don’t talk about girlscout cookies! I gave up all sweets for Lent!
I’m SO HAPPY! Friday was the best day EVER! Our school’s team went to it’s county Battle of the Books and we WON! So 2 weeks from now my team mates and I are going to the regionals! And that’s not all! That night our achool had its talent show and I won 3rd place!
(106) I will not only give you a hug, I will give you this giant vertual chocolate bar!
Did the blog time get changed to daylight savings’? I can’t really tell… OOOOOOOOOO, thin mints!!!!!!!!!!!
LENT!!!!
Hay… “Lent” sounds like “Lint” huh? Am I right? Eh?
111- Ha ha ha ha….. ha. Real funny. :I
True. Just as “bent” sounds like “bint,” “dent” sounds like “dint,” and “meant” sounds like “mint.” The point being..?
Today the funniest thing happened. In band, we started playing a piece for the next concert. Let me preface the song title by saying that I just finished work on a soon-to-be-due band project on an american composer. I convinced my partner we should choose John Philip Sousa as our person to do the project on. I wanted him because of Monty Python. So we got the music for the concert.
“The Liberty Bell”, by John Philip Sousa. I cracked up. Only one other person that I know of got it. Thankfully, he sits next to me and I’m on the end of a row, so I didn’t have to try to explain. I was laughing too hard to explain it. It was an effort to calm down enough to play.
103,104,106-The names and kinds of GS cookies vary from place to place, even district-wise. Trust me, I know…I used to be a GS.
over here, they’re samoas.
lilbro, have to add something to your rant against skools (even though i’ve always been to one)-DRAMA. Guess what guys! MATT and TORY broke up AGAIN because tory decided for the 209487243th time (involving various guys, not just hewwit) that she really likes JACOB, and DAN is getting all involved because he’s DAN and likes to feel involved but he’s just making everything worse so TORY thinks that people aren’t talking to her and MATT thinks that everybody hates him and EVERYBODY is being extremely pissy and/or emo and/or OVERLY DRAMATIC. Oh and PHIL is being PHIL, namely just being at the bank (that’s an at money money for strags who don’t know. If you still don’t get that, i declare you either unaware of your brain or *gasp* could it be that pure, innocent children still exist? Naaah)
None of you cared about any of that, did you? SAAAAAME! Everybody needs to stop being jerks to each other.
On another note, bill’s moving back to south! yaaay! south pride to bill.
on another another note i really hate skool.
on another another another note i took the national latin exam today, and don’t think i failed too badly. Andrew Scott was being so freaking annoying though, he kept talking all through the test and saying/doing the stupidest things. Ugh.
Y’know what? People bug me. I’m thinking a bike ride is in order. And some GS cookies. XD
My mom was cookie chairperson for my Girl Scout troop when we lived in Charleston, SC. Not sure how that happened — not the sort of thing she usually took on — even ironic since I dreaded selling door to door as we were expected to do in those days, and my sales totals were reliably dismal as a result.
Imagine the torture: a garage full of cookies, and I couldn’t touch them!
68- Righto. Thanks.
forry4601, hello! *pies*
85- Sounds like my hair! Except I’m in denial that it’s blonde, or so I’ve heard. At least call it ash….
92- I never really got the whole Girl Scout cookie obsession thing…ugh.
93- Righto.
So I went to see 300 yesterday. It was more of a slaughter-fest than a gore-fest, but with multiple decapitations. As expected. I gave up on historical inaccuracies shortly into it. Took a while to convince mumsy to let me go, as it was rated R and I was the youngest person in the group going. Also the only female. Which brings up a lovely story.
In the car on the way to the movies:
mum: “Olivia, this is, like, a guy movie…”
me: *shrugs* “Riiiight…..” *rolls eyes*
mum: “You aren’t….like….a guy, now, are you?!”
me: *dies laughing*
I’m dead serious, too. I couldn’t make this stuff up. My mother is brilliant, yes?
But I liked the cinematography. And Xerxes was absolutely beautiful. Really. *stares* It was surreal. He was supertall, though, which was weird. And shiny. If it were a fashion show, the Persians would have pwned Sparta several times over.
Especially because the Spartans let their nice red capes drag on the ground. Ugh!
And there was lots of slow-motion dying.
Anyway, what else?
PSSAs were boooring. Easy-peasy math stuff.
I hung out in Gifted from about 11 to the end of the day today, which pwnd. My friend and I glittered things, and then walked aimlessly around the school. For more glitter and paint.
And exchanged iPods for the majority of the time there. My music taste is much better : )
I missed chem and have no idea how to do the hw. Missed because of the PSSAs, not Gifted, mind you!
Since the GAPAs cut this out of my other one on the account of it being too random, I’ll just put it here.
Does anyone around here live in tornado alley, cause we’re doing a project on it in school. Just wondering. And when are they going to start a part 3 for this one? It’s getting a bit full.
119 (iwanttobeamuffin) – new threads aren’t usually made until there are about 300 posts. I’m not sure when that came into effect (once there are more than 300 posts, it tends to slow down some people’s computers), but there were some threads last year that had 700 posts!
119. I’m not exactly sure what tornado alley is… I live in N. Indiana and we have tornado sightings about 4 times a year…they hardly ever touch down in my area though.
54-Unless it goes over halfway down your back it’s shorter than some of the guys at my school. Long hair is hott, if anyone really wants my opinion.
74- Biking is cool. Every few weeks in the summer we go to the forest preserve and do 5-10 miles or so. Other than that just around my friends subdivision… we live near a really busy road so I can’t just randomly take off though .
92- I looooooooooooved the emon ones, but they took them away!!!
106- *hugs* What happened? Don’t explain if you don’t want to. *sends virtual choklit*
117- Ooooohhhoohooo…. *hugs* Not cool.
No, fellowmuser and I are not the same person. this goes out to red-tailed HAWK the swift. Peace of pies out! (Kokopelli threw um’.)
Jadestone- i aggree with u on the whole long hair is hot thing…………….its a proverbial hairstyle. But it makes boys look strange though……..just voicing my opinion. I hope i don’t sound mean.
Rant of the Southern Californian:
IT’S SOOOOOOOOO HOT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
End rant.
Hey GAPAs I’m going to send you my alphabet so please put ti on the Runes and symbols page
Long hair is a hott, if the guy takes care of it. This one guy…long wazy hair…looks super greasy (dont think he washes or combs it regularly)…
Tornado Alley is the area in the middle of the US. I lived in Missouri and we got about 5-6 tornados per year, and only 1-2 touched down. Once the sirens had gone off and my dad went out side. He was like oh that’s awesome and went to get the camera when the tornado was huge in front of our house. I’m like dad get inside!! But he wanted his picture so he ran out soooo close and took a pic. The next day we went to town and the roof had been ripped off of one of the manufacturers plants and there was insulation all ov3er.
can someone tell me where the Googlewhacking posts are? I wanted to say that I won with “cornets pseudonyms”, but I can’t find where I was on MuseBlog before I tried Googlewhack.
I won again with “contractor supercalafragalisticexpealadocious”.
118 – Just out of curiosity, why did you want to go see “300”?
(129),
There was a short discussion of googlewhacking on the February Welcome, Newcomers! thread, which included a link back to a longer discussion on the November Discussion Thread.
I’m horrible at googlewhacking.
I just had a LONG rehearsal. The play’s on Friday, ZOMG. Ben kept forgetting his lines. Same with Molly. And practically ALL of the main characters are sick. Vince went home early, Molly’s had a feer for the pst few days, Ben has a sore throat and ditto for Erin. *dies*
I’m getting very excited. NAB is coming up. You know, the consumer electronics show in Los Vegas? Apple’s hosting a “special event”. leopardleopardleopardleopard…
Why does it take an hour to start with a .m4v song and a powerpoint, without song, on the same computer, and end with said song in .mp3 format, on a CD with said powerpoint, now playing the song upon starting the slide show? And why do you have to do things of questionable legality with DRM to get there? Asking hypothetically, of course. :):D:lol:
mwah ha ha! mwah hahahahahahahahahha!! *diabolical laughter*
NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*more diabolical laughter*
*ahem* oooooooooooookay. *gets up on speech to make a platform* i am really terrible at hw and am therefore procrastinizing on this veeeeeeeery time consuming blog, while apparently doing my process paper for history day, that was due two days ago (even though that was sunday) and i realy should do. *thinks*

I stand upon this speech to make a platform. The train I arrived in has not yet come, so I took a bus. I come before you to stand behind you … I forget. What was it again? Something about a whole bunch of issues that I don’t understand, maybe. That just reminded me of it, post 135.
94: See, I was in GS for nine yrs, so whatever addictive chemicals they put in the cookies don’t work on me! GS cookies…Man, do I hate those things. Esp those 2x choklit thingies – They’re like freaking hockey pucks. Gross…
116: That sounds like one of those little soap summeries in the TV Guide. LOL.
Bleh. It was a typical Monday for me. Dude, no one…No one said hi to me today! It was really weird (and kinda depressing!) I mean, I can think of at least four times that I was walking down the hall today, walked past one of my friends, said hi, and they either didn’t say anything, or looked at me like “Whazza…” Maybe I was just depressed b/c it’s the beginning of the week, but it was still weird.
But something happened at the end of the day that cheered me up a bit. I met Corey on the way to the bus this afternoon. We just hadn’t talked in a long time…I had thought he was avoiding me, b/c ehm…I kinda have this thing for him, and I figured that maybe I was making this a bit more obvious than I thought. Maybe he’s not scared of me after all, LOL (…Yaaaay!
(139) Hi!
It is now officially Tuesday! Don’t you giys just love Day Light Savings Time? It’s about 6:25, no, wait, it’s &:25. What?! Eeek!
No! haha! It’s 7:25!
138- I was in girlscouts brownies(kindergarten) through when I would have flown up to cadets (6th?) I’m still addicted.
No one has mentioned Do-si-dos. As far as I’m concerned, they’re right up there with Samoas and Thin Mints in the trio of wonderfulness. All others fall far behind.
Who decided that girl scouts had to sell cookies in order to raise money?
(144) This question and many other Girl Scout cookie mysteries are addressed — where else?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girl_scout_cookies
BWA-HA-HA-HA!!! I BROKE INTO THE ADMINISTRATOR CODE!!! NOW I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT WITH THIS BLOG!!!
What should I do first?
just kidding
Wait, what happened to my other post?
the one before “just kidding”?
I hope it wasn’t zapped!
.
I would use the HTML pratice thread, but my modem won’t let me go to it.
On the topic of Homeschooling which we seem to have dropped:
I’m a Quaker, and therefore consider myself a Christian, but people always assume that if you’re a Christian that’s why you’re homeschooling, which is not the case.
Has anyone seen Epic Movie?
hey GAPAs! could we have a thread where we post our favorite quotes? i know there’s already a section for that on the GABOOMBA, but i submitted a quote 2 it and it never got on there. please?
It’s actually nice out where I am. I have a slight headache, but other than that I’m fine. Also, I had ISAT testing today, which was NOT good. Ick-o-rama.
Liesolotte- I’m a Quaker homeschooler! But I know what you mean… No, haven’t seen, nor heard of it.
Whoof… This morning I cleaned out and vacumed my parents cars. Then we all went for a walk round’ the park with our corgi. Then we went to Southern States to buy bird seed, then we went to the hardware store. Then I raked my entire front yard, bagged the leaves, and swept the sidewalk. And last but not least, I helped my parents mix old paint with kitty litter (which we had to buy seperately as we don’t have a cat). Where I live, you have to mix old paint with the kitty litter before you take it to the dump to dry it up. (I’m on spring break by the way) * POOF!!!!*
152 – no, but i want 2.
154 – where do u live, QJ? oddly enough, it’s nice out where i am 2.
137- Ladles and Jellyspoons!
I stand upon this speech to make a platform!
The train I arrived in has not yet come,
So I took a bus and walked.
Now I sit behind you
To stand before you
And tell you something I know nothing about.
ALSO:
Aligators and Crocidiles!
There will be a meeting tomorrow
Come today after breakfast.
Admission is free
Just pay at the gate.
The meeting will decide what color
We will whitewash the school.
There will be plenty of chairs;
You may sit on the floor.
Thank you.
i ♥ tangletalk
152-yes. i saw it and its NOT worth seeing. the trailer is funny but the movie is just the trailer repeated over and over again. doesnt even come close to scary movie 1,2,3,4
152 – Another Friend! Welcome!
GAPAs, and everyone else: MuseCast #3 is up on iTunes.
140: *Laughs* Awz, thanks! *Hugs*
143: Grrrooooooosssssssssssss, those things are pretty much like peanut butter hockey pucks (to go along w/ the 2x dutch choklit hockey pucks!)!
It was 60 degrees out today!!
All the Junebugs are testing right now, so the schedule was really weird today. I had stats all morning (three hours! I cried. JK). After that, I was ready to book it, so I went over to the college w/ Alyssa and her friend. It feels so good to be able to go outside w/o a coat! After walking around the college for awhile, we headed to the Enchanted Forest, where we ran into Tabby and a bunch of other ppl. Then Amelia, one of the sweetest ppl I know, came out…She reached into her pocket, and pulled out a whole pack of cigs! I was like WHOA!…I definitely never expected her to be a smoker! So everyone else lit up, and I…I stood there, bored + above the influence. Since the snow’s melting, the Enchanted Forest is pretty much one big puddle, so my shoes were soaked through pretty soon (I don’t know why I didn’t just go inside…). Suddenly, someone was like “TRAHAIR (one of the principals)!!” Sure enough, Trahair was coming around the corner.
I think we evacuated that place in about ten seconds…The next thing I know, I was across the street at the Civics Center w/ Tabby and a random guy,who actually looked scared. Everyone else was over at the college.
I actually thought the whole thing was pretty funny.
I’ve been throwing a new smoking-related insult at Tabby every day, since there’s really nothing else I can do that might make her quit. Today it was “Hey, buttface!!” Yeah, I have quite the sense of humour.
Pi Day thread???
Currently listening to Just finished listening to the MuseCast.
I’m mentioned!!!!!!!!!!!! I would just like to say that it was a fluke that I got second, I did really badly at State (that was a fluke too, in the other direction). And I’d like to take this opportunity to plug the Math and Math Geeks thread. And Margaret, I am honored to know you as well. I’m sure you excel at a variety of things which don’t meet anywhere near my town that I can’t see you at.
I have an idea for a thread. The Wung thread did great for a while, and we have a pretty comprehensive idea of what Wungs are now. So, I thought, why not have a thread to figure out what another random word means? You can choose the word, or another MBer’s suggestion.
152-Oh, I know…it’s so annoying. My parents did it because they don’t like the public schools.
Haha! Great story, actually…so a few of my friends from my homeschool program and I went to see it, and we were like, “Yeah! Let’s go see Epic Movie!”, and we got in there, and we were like, “This is kinda dumb…”, and then, at one point, there were these weirdo girls dressed in skimpy bikinis singing, “We are the pirates…of the Caribbean!”, and they were doing this really nasty dance, and the guys we had with us were like, “Hey, this is gross, can we leave?”, and those were the guys!!! The other girls and I were so proud of them! So we went out to the lobby-ish place, and we asked for our money back, and we got it, and then we went to Target, and then to a couple of the girls’ house (they’re sisters) and watched the end of 24 and the beginning of Prison Break (or maybe it was the other way around), so, yeah, don’t see Epic Movie.
Btw, I’m not really that much of a ditz, but I just think it’s fun to tell stories like that.
Everyone to the Pi day thread!
162 – but wouldn’t it just end up being the same, because the Wungs were basically all different, but focused around the same word. I’m wiling to try, but I think the results would be similar.
What, may I ask, is Googlewhacking?
T.N.Ö. Lïlbrö the Dictator-Queen of Höt Pïnk Bünnÿ Länd –do you live in Southern California? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want, but there is a teacher at my school named Mrs. Enright, so you might go to my school. Or I could be really wrong.
Googlewhacking is trying to search something on Google that only yeilds 1 result.
158-scary movie kind of traumatized me at first…
aah, rain…don’t you just love ohio? yesterday it was 70. And it’s supposed to snow in a couple days. although if we’ve used up all the precipitation it might just be cold
I can almost see them marching – it also looks like a kite – Marching for March
170-Are you new?
*pies just in case*
I want to see 300. So bad. Violence and naked lesbian orgies. Aaaahhh….
Ok, I’ve been hearing about that, lately…what’s it about?
I don’t even want to know LA LA LAA LAAAA.. (plugs ears)
(Remarkably swift change of subject) My school celebrated pi day by singing pi carols and eating pie. Does anybody else do that??
oops. Better move to the pi day thread. Didn’t realize there was one. sorry!
Actually I don’t feel like moving to the pi day thread. One topic is insanely boring!!!!!
Hey! I’m new, and I didn’t get pied! What’s up with that? I’m confused……
I change subjects so much, I can’t go anywhere but the random thread. But I guess I’m ok with that
Where is everybody?????? I must have scared everyone away.
Oooh! I know how to make smileys now!!!
Did everybody leave, or am I just talking too much to let anyone else in? Sorry if I am, but my computer time is very* limited, I have to make the most of it.
*Average of 45 minutes per week, and compared to most standards, that’s not much.
Ratty- You have to go to the newbie thread to get pie, but here’s one to nourish you before you make the long trip: PIEEEE!!!
173: It’s a kickass movie about the Spartan resistance at Thermopalye against the Persians. 300 against a million. Brilliant.
*pi*
Nobody noticed you.
174-181: This is a blog/forum, not a chatroom. Even if you can see your posts, the rest of us can’t until their moderated. So it takes a while to respond. Otherwise, welcome!! *pies*
183-not seeing the naked lesbians in te trailer….
but it looks cool anyway.
183 – Who eventually wins?
I picked up a new expression. When a French person is mean to a non-French person, the technical term is “Talk To The Snail.”
Today I didn’t do a whole lot.
*ring! ring* of cellphone in hall
Teacher: QUEENIE! The last straw! Get out here!
Me: Okay.
Teacher: Your cellphone rang!
Me: I don’t have a cellphone.
Teacher: Don’t lie to me!
Me: No, really, I don’t.
…
Me (on phone): Mom, they don’t believe I don’t have a cellphone! They won’t believe me! Tell them! *near hysterics* *lapses, I’m Quebecoise*
dreeb! dreeb! I am the fuse box dwarf!
…
…
…
does anyone else read John Bellairs books?
Gosh, the internet’s down for a day and you’ve got 5 new threads and 20 new posts on the random thread. The MB’s gotten real busy!
Just had another long rehearsal. Everyone’s better I think, and today the play really came together. Ben, the play’s idiot, missed an entrance in scenes 12 and 5. Dx Tomorrow’s makeup rehearsal. And mics. *dies*
ISATs until Monday. *dies again*
My tamagotchi is alive and well, thank god.
Dodecahedron, why does your name have (c+q) after it?
188- Whenever a cellphone goes off at our school, everyone is silent and we listen to the ringtone for a few moments till the phone owner goes, “Not mine.” Our teachers aren’t that strict.
190- yeah…
I just don’t feel like reading.
Too busy to get on museblog. So many projects. I tried to duplicate Potterpuppetpals for a video brochure, but the originals are just too beautiful….plus I kept poking myself with the needle. All very frustrating. Harry’s head is lopsided.
GAPAS- 1993 :]
183-We wanted to go on a field trip to see that (latin, i mean) but doc said it might not be historically accurate, since he didn’t think there was any sex at the battle. So we played isketch instead. To anybody who plays isketch-if you see Teamlatin or anybody on team DOC, it’s me, mellison, josh, and nibblies. and occasionally regina and jake.
it’s wallball season…ie not winter…
we went to cassingham and it was completely overrun by small children. quite frightening. of course, technically it IS an elementary skool playground, but still
i haven’t spent much time online lately…
i still have dan’s bike. i’m going to sell it. w00t money.
So what’s everybody doing for spring break? i’m going to chicago and then florida. fun tmes…
oh, i made pit for titanic! wewt! of course, two trumpets tried out and two trumpets got in. but still.
jacob didn’t make it, so sarah made him go along to crew tryouts, and now he’s assistant manager. poor jacob will soon find out why nobody else wanted the job. but still, it’s pretty kewl. XD
oh, and i’m so happy, i get to be on the committee to help pick the next band director. soo saaaaaaaaad, schneids is leaving *snibble* but at least i get to help pick. it’s me and molly (my stand partner, junior) and william the lesser (also junior, clarinet)
good times, good times.
How have things been in musery-land?
191 – Because Dodecahedron was formerly Curious and Questioning.
GAPAs – did you get the MuseCast?
I’ve listened to the March MuseCast. I subscribe on iTunes. Do you want me to copy it onto the blog?
It doesn’t really matter…I don’t know how many people have iTunes.
Did you like it?
195- I know that this is the choice of THF and PP, but my two cents are that you should copy it. I don’t even know what Itunes is.
195-indeed. i cant find it on itunes.
copy away.
or instructions to find it on itunes.
MuseCast 3 has been uploaded to the blog and now has its own thread. Look for it!
200th post? When are they going to start a new one?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!?!?3.14…….?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?
*begins to repeat digits of pie in a random order*
I’m new and no one has yet pied me.
*waits impatiently*
.

.
.
I guess I’m good at acting like I know what I’m doing.
And thanks for the advice on Epic Movie. Oh well…
Has anyone else noticed the large amount of *bad* supposedly fractured fairy tales that have been coming out?
The only fractured fairy tales that are worth watching are Rocky and Bullwinkle’s.
201- PIE!!! *pies* Hello! You seem tobe doing whteve it is we’re supposed to do fine.
By the way, what are we supposed to be doing?
Though if you told me what to do I probably wouldn’t do it. Oh well. *pies again*
201 – see, to me, there’s two kinds of new musebloggers:
1. The kind who seem like they’ve been here forever the day after they first post. They fit right in smoothly, contribute intelligently to the discussions, etc, and don’t make a big deal about “OMG PEEPS I”VE NEVER POSTED HERE BEFORE SO I AM SPESHIAL!!” It seems like they might lurk or something for a while before posting, so they’ve kind of gotten the hang of how we do things, who everyone is, etc. MG, FS, Margaret (sp), Phoebe, etc were like that.
2. Then there’s some who I unconsciously think of as n00bies even after they’ve been here for a month/year. It seems like they’re usually younger than some of the other people on here. They usually get more attention for being new than the others. I will not name names.
You were the first kind. hence, we didn’t notice you.
Either that or everyone was being lazy.
201-I fail to see how anything with Natasha NoGood and Boris BadEnough is a fairy tale. Not to mention Dudley Do Right. Someone I know is married to a Mountie, and we call him Studly Do Right.
200 – usually around 300 posts.
201 – Welcome! *pies*
Yeah I’ve heard that 300 was really good. I also heard that all the guys have perfect 6packs. *goes to watch trailer and drool* Hm. Maybe not.
Too bad its rated R, otherwise my History class would’ve gone. Ah well.
So i’m having fun writing about how transportation developments sparked economic growth from 1860 to 1900 in the US. Yes, the day before spring break. Yes, half of our 10-person history class is in Italy/France/Andros. And yes, we still have to do the essay. Yes, it’s 7:30, and yes, i’m just starting. Good times.
we had asar as a latin sub today, since doc was in italy. So half the class played isketch (teamlatin got a new record of 103 points today…) while the other half watched basketball. Basketball was what we did in math too. That and calky games. History is the only class we’re doing anything in at all. especially since half the people that aren’t on one of those spiffy skool trips that get off early are sick.
203-Lurking is always good. Not excessive lurking. but bits of it. i lurk more than people think. *evil cackle* YES I’M READING EVERY WORD YOU SAY SO BEWAAAARE!
Gah, better go blab about economic developments in the US a bit more.
167- no i live in wyoming. thatd be cool if we went to the same skool though…
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY EVERYONE WANTS TO BE PIED SO BAD?!!?!?!! and anyway…. *pies EVERYONE, for the sake of fairness*
I lurk ALL the time. I am always on here, reading threads, etc. even if I never post on them.
209 same here
I can’t stand to lurk. All those purdyful posts, just waiting to be replied to… *cringe* My top-secret CIA project has been sent to the CIA administrator, who shall be henceforth known as R. The projedct has to do with writing. That’s all I can tell you.
Last rehearsal today. Went well. Me and Ryan have this thing we do called “sexy chipmunk”. It’s hard to explain. Almost nobody missed an entrance except Evan, but that’s inevitable.
STEAK AND SHAKE!!! (after the play.)
189- I have! I read them a few years ago. I was like 10 or 11 or something and they really creeped me out. *Shudder*
207- Oooh, tough luck. *shudder* I hate papers.
203- Heh heh… I was in the second group, thouh it was more of a “hi… I’ve never really been here before…umm…” Truth is, you guys scared me. MB was the first website I was ever on a lot, and almost everyhere but here I’m more introverted. Through I did read the whole thread… all 400-somthing pposts on it, and that took a day or two at least.
Wow, I’ve been here over a year… that’s still weird…
213-MB was the first website i was on a lot too. Thanks guys, you taught me how to be a proper newbie! seriously though, i join random forums and stuff all the time now without seriously annoying too many people with random noobishness. Let’s give Gary a medal (although he never actually ate my eyes…i was a pretty good newbie to start with if i may say so myself…)
191- Somewhat more unnecessarily detailed explanation than Purple Panda’s: Dodecahedron is just my name for the duration of the school play. It’s my part. ♥ I love it. Normally, I’m known as curious and questioning. The (c+q) is for people who know my old name but haven’t been around recently.
201- What about Wicked? The book’s worth reading, at least, and the soundtrack’s not bad. *wants to go to Broadway to see it*
203- Which kind was I? Just out of curiosity. I might have seemed like 2 then, probably, but in comparison with the pointless posting we have now, I don’t know.
214 and other similar- MuseBlog was and is still the only thread I post on regularly, but I spend way more time on the computer for other stuff now that I’ve begun to MB. Like random Wkikquote articles. And tmbw. And more email.
And all sorts of time-wasting stuff.
215- forum
214-awwww. lol. itd be really cute if i could say the same. but ‘fraid not people. i was just messed up when i came on here at first.
Just a random thing–has anyone ever found the name ‘Steak n’ Shake” to be vaguely disturbing? I always get this vision of a milkshake with grisly bits of steak in it…blech.
Yeah, I joined right as Gaboomba was ending and MB was starting up. People like Duncan_Quagmire, e~a, ebeth, and Montgomery Gurl were very kind and welcoming. If you’re listening, you four and any of the other originals, thanx much!!!!!!
213- my first rule when joining ANYTHING is: never be intimidated!
217-YES
215- oh i ♥ wicked. the play is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good (and me gets to see it again! i get to see it TWICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) i love the book 2.
funny story, actually, how im gonna see wicked twice. see, mom was all “haley, since you somehow manage to turn EVEY SINGLE conversation into one about how much you want to see wicked, i will buy tickets to go see it.”
me: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mom: *buys tickets for may, when my bday is in… july.*
me: uh, mom? isn’t the may after this july kindofa… LONG ways away???
mom: your right. *buys tickets for october showing in Chicago*
me: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! *happydance*
so then we go to chicago and i find out that along with my phobia of digital spiders, i reeeeeeeeeeeeeeealy dont like subways. claustrophobia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what were we talking about?
.
.
.
.
argh cant remember.
live long, throw pies, be happy!
davidude
216- I meant to say that.
Is anybody talking about here, or can we say whatever we want?
(214) Gary graciously accepts your medal. Oh the sweet taste of eyeballs.
(217) MG wasn’t here until October, when the blog started in early August.
I myself am a notorious lurker. Even once i join forums. Hmph.
My blogiversary is a month behind the MBs. My museiversary is in…April i think? Yeah. Or maybe March. It’s pretty close to my half-birthday.
speaking of which…less than a month till i get my temps!
This is a random thought, but does anyone else have wierd exclamations like me? When I’m really disapointed/ mad/ sad/ excited I say these kinds of words…………..
Gurgle!
Buber tuber puss!
Yiper Diapers!
Goodness Gracious!
Wowsers!
ERK. (day of the play)
My blogiversary’s coming up. May seventh.
Axa–by October, I was still a newbie.
And you were one of the first people I remember, at least. Pie! And touche.
215- actually, I have no idea. But you and Jadestone were definitely not people I was thinking of when I made the second description..
laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…
217-No.
I’m talking about the actual Fractured Fairy Tales in Rocky and Bullwinkle, when the little fairy flies out and the dwarf gets squished by the sign… etc.
they’re very funny.
I’ve never seen Wicked, though I’ve heard it’s good.
And thank you for the pies!
*wipes off face*
208-the reason everyone wants to be pied is because everyone else wants to be pied *Peer Pressure*
224 – I say “phoo.” My sister says, “Yeesh.” My baby brother says ” Nononono.” The kids at school say, “*****”.
(231),
Also, pie tastes good, and some people are willing to get it any way they can.
Juliette (204),
The characters were named Boris Badenov (c.f. Godunov, but pronounced like BadEnough) and Natasha Fatale (c.f. femme). They appeared in “Rocky and Bullwinkle” but not in the “Fractured Fairytales” segments of the show.
i love the rocky and bullwinkle movie but i have never seen the show
I hath usurped my music teacher’s computer.
I was looking through my “complete works of shakespeare” book last night and I spotted a line from Hamlet that my friend Molly kept quoting. So I memorized it:
“Horatio, I am dead. Thou livest. Report me and my cause aright to the unsatisfied.”
Spoken by Hamlet himself.
ERK. (see my previous post for meaning of “ERK”.)
We have a teaser today. We’re doing, like, 4 songs for the whole school. We’re doing “I’ll Know”, which means Molly and Vince go kissy-kissy! LOL.
185: The Spartans were eventually killed, but they had inflicted so much damage on the Persians that they were easily defeated soon after.
224- I say meh, froody, w00t, grr, all those fun ones that are more-normal, then there’s “yompyompyomp” and one or two others I can’t remember at the moment that are really weird.
227- *feels happy* Oh good.
300 sounds like an okay movie…hm…maybe I’ll see it. M! But what I also want to see is Premonition…I like those creepy-ish (but not really scary) movies that mess with time…has anyone seen The Lake House?
Just seeing the trailers for 300 made me want to scream. Did the Spartans care about “Freedom”? or Democracy? NO! They were an oligarchy, and fought so that they themselves wouldn’t be killed and/or imprisoned. They took slaves from all of the other city states that they conquered, did they care about the slave’s freedom? I think that it isn’t helping the kids my age who don’t understand other cultures see the middle east as a cultured society either. I haven’t seen the movie though, so I could be completely wrong about all of this.
hey, you know that thing i was doing? the nine minutes’ war? it’s so long that you shouldn’t expect it until april. at the earliest. sorry.
Oh yes, Rocky and Bullwinkle. So excellent.
Yesterday was the Ides of march. The day when Julius Caesar was assassinated. My Latin teacher was going on and on and on about it, so me and two of my friends (I’ll call them by their Latin class names, “Lepidus” and “Hadrianus”) devised a daring and bold plan.
Along with most of the other members of our class, we re-created the Julius Caesar assassination.
So, at the beginning of class, our teacher walks in. We all gather around her. Lepidus says “Hey, Ms. Olson! Do you know what day it is? THE IDES OF MARCH!” And then we all ran at her and stabbed her (not really) with pens and pencils! It was SO AWESOME! We were planning for 3 days. I can’t believe no one found out!
238- I saw The Lake House. Last summer, when it was in the theater. I went with a friend because we were bored. It wasn’t bad. I kind of liked it, but I don’t really want to see Premonition. It got a bad review in the newspaper. Maybe with someone so we could go point out all the inconsistencies. My parents might not allow me, though. Even though it’s PG-13, and I am 13. They’re sometimes strict that way.
I am so annoyed right now.
My sister’s going to a fabulous boarding school. I get to stay and go to the local, public, English-speaking school, even though I made the effort to apply and get into six French-speaking ones, which would be vastly superior. I don’t understand why, though. I really, really don’t. I probably wouldn’t be as irritated with it if I had a concrete reason. I think they just don’t like me.
Monday we’re getting a speech from the Jehovah’s Witnesses, and then I get the score back on my intriguing essay for Science. The subject of that essay? The motivational psychology of the amoeba.
I’m spending my youth writing two-page essays on the motivational psychology of the amoeba. The next thing that’s going to happen is me having dreams about trains going through tunnels.
233-Yeah, if you’re looking at the English. The Cree version was so much cooler. And anyway, I don’t think I was too good at English spelling at that age. Plus, I remember having a huge crush on Casper the Friendly Ghost.
LIzzie, when next you visit MuseBlog, your presence is requested at the Chronicles Of Museica, Part the Third thread to help your province of Chad, specifically the city of Spareparts, rebuild from its attack by the vicious pirate Geeometree.
Play time. ERK.
I thought I’d give the GAPAs a heads-up that my birthday is the 9th of April.
(22^) Oh, XDD I misunderstood what you were saying. Ehehehe…-pies back- X3
Latin was such a party today. Doc’s in italy, so we had asar. she lets us do anything. andrew just left (thank god, that kid’s SO ANNOYING. one of the most arrogant people i’ve ever met), and carolyn and mackensie walked over to cvs and got us loads of candy! teamlatin played isketch, as usual (minus nibblies and josh today, but asar played and got us a few points) and everybody else watched bball, the colbert report, and mtv. a few people from other classes who weren’t doing anything came in too.
when you say et tu brute, do you pronounce the t or is it silent?
172 – someone i know saw that and said it was basically “a huge, gory, bloody, violent battle, with small pauses for the plot and nude scenes.”
You pronounce both the T and the E: “Broo-tay.”
in the word et. is it pronounced et or eh
Et. Rhymes with set, net, bet, and get. There are no silent letters in Latin.
GAH!!! Then why does everyone always say eh? Et tu brute sounds wierd.
Because “et” is pronounced “eh” in French, which people are more used to. But “Et tu, Broo-tay?” doesn’t sound that different from “Eh tu, Broo-tay?” if you say it quickly and conversationally, the way the Romans would have.
“or” means gold in French
I love Latin…I wish my school offered it, but we only have French and Spanish.
One of my friends knows Latin…apparently it really helps her with Spanish.
243-Well, where I live, if the main movie review guy named Tom Long gives something a bad review, it has to be good.
258- I’m taking both Latin and Spanish in school, and find them both easy.. I’m starting to mix the vocabulary a little, though – I’ll say something mostly in Spanish, but with a Latin word thrown in..
ZOMG. The play actually went well. More details tomorrow when I’ve gotten some sleep.
………….I hate not being able to find any decent CSS overrides for LivJournal. My frustration is limitless. -pops a vein-
My mom’s brithday is on the Ides of March so I’ve grown up with her constantly telling me about Ceaser’s death when it’s near her birthday (or when it isn;t) and saying Et tu Brute on a semi-regular basis. XD My mom’s so weird.
260 – I’ll do that with Japanese. I took Japanese and Spanish in elementary school, and I would always mix up the Japanese and Spanish words, mostly numbers.
is this thread completely random? like a conversation? is that what this is? sry, but i’m a fairly new museblogger, so will someone tell me what ppl are talking about in here?
People don’t really talk about anything in particular. They just talk. You can pretty much post whatever you want, as long as it is not a pointless post, and is not vulgar, offensive, or any of the criteria mentioned in HG2MB. (The one rule you can override around here is making a post unrelated to the previous posts.) Though MuseBloggers tend to like it better when you flow with the topic.
An unrelated, but not pointless, post might be:
Does anybody out there like chocolate ice cream? What kinds of ice cream dodes everybody like?
A pointless post might be:
DUDE!!! [X]th post!!! w00t! *does [x]th post dance* Me so hyper hyper hyper
Right now the topic seems to be something about foreign languages.
Hope this helps.
I have stopped my lurking…to a certain extent.
Hello, how is everyone? Wonderful, simply smashing, I hope. I actually did type out replies to the posts since my last one. Then my compy crashed. Aargh.
So I stuffed my face with cinnamon mini scones and choklit milk [not soy, sadly, because we’re out of it] and some almonds.
This Wed. was mucho fun. Science Olympiad. We didn’t move on, but our team number was 42, so I was thrilled anyway. I mostly hung out with the nerdy senior guys between events, and we made many a geekish joke. And Steven Hawking jokes [think Chuck Norris jokes, only with S.H.] and Jesus jokes. [“I’m going to be a pig and eat all this cheesecake….for Jesus!”] They’re really great fun. I’m going to miss all of them next year. *sulks in junior-dom* However, I did get stuck in a tickle-fight with my bus-buddy. Twice. >_
OK.
Kiki’s Report on the [snip] Play
Before the Play
The peoples wearing mics had to get there at 5:15 for mic check. We were all chatting and eating Subway until Mrs. Friedman came and told us to get in costume. We also made jokes about how everyone looked orange because of all the base and rouge we had on. So me and Ryan started calling the cast the “orange-faced tribe of [snip]onia”. LOL. After we got in costume we hung around, eating fruitsnacks until 6, when we got our mikes on and the ensemble started to arrive.
Act I
Scene one went very well, except for the fact that Matthew and Ryan repeated the same verse in “Fugue for Tinhorns” twice.
Scene two only had two people in it, Molly and Vince, and they did well. Molly really belted it out!
Scene three, the Hot Box scene, was awesome. The Hot Box girls were great, and Adelaide’s Lament was HILARIOUS!
Scene four was Guys and Dolls. It went well, and the Mission Band actually wasn’t late!
Scene five was good, because it was only a page and a half, and you can’t mess up on such a short scene.
Scene six was a train wreck. Danilo and Ben came in late, and of course, Evan missed his entrance. And the Mission Band was late.
Scene Seven was great.
Scene eight..er I forgot.
Act II
Scene nine was great. Nobody forgot their lines like Thursday.
Scene ten was good, but Erin’s voice was soft as always..
Scene eleven was Luck be a Lady. Twas awesome, and we got tons of applause
Scene twelve was nice.
Scene thirteen was Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ The Boat. Everyone luvved it, and everyone remembered the dance steps.
Scene fourteen was good.
Scene fifteen was de finale! Yaya!
OMG WE ARE GOING TO VEGAS!!!!!! I CAN NOT BELIEVE IT 1ST PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VEGAS HERE WE COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(263) I do that too! I took Spanish before Japanese so now when I try to think of how to say something, I often think of Spanish participles instead and the like. It’s maddening. T_T
(264) We used to have conversations but the thread has deteriorated into “FMAKJEA!!11” again. -bitter bitter-
What was your play called? I regognize the songs but can’t recall the name.
i went to vermont and SKIIIIIIIIIIIED! it was fun! that’s where i was this past week. it was my marchbreak. YAY!
WELL Locke that was interesting. I’m sure we all enjoyed hearing those 14 lines of seemingly disconnected phrases. Perhaps you meant it as a poem.
JK.
Yeah I was in the spelling bee for several years and studied several romance languages to pick up roots. Now I take Spanish, and I can see all those roots popping up again.
Oopsies, sorry GAPAs. I accidentally included the name of my school in my post. But they snipped it, so no biggie.
271- Guys and Dolls.
Meep.
Just got back from Solo&Ensamble (in evonston, actually. Anyone else there? This would have been the perfect time to have another Kokonvention). I got a 1 on my solo and another 1 on my duet. Squee!!
230- its MORE than good
NOOOOOOOO the snow is all melting …………….. WHY?! WHY DOES MUD SEASON EXIST?!
you cant ski, due to lack of snow.
you cant really ride all that well, due to extensive amounts of mud, which is worse than ice for horses slipping
you cant bike, also due to extensive amounts of mud, which are worse than sand for out of contrl falls.
and you cant talk your father into taking you sailing, due to ice still on the lake!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a lot of snow! It was really fun to play in…I buried THF in the snow!
278-There’s snow here too. We must be in the same time zone (at least).
It’s snowed yesterday, but it’s definitely spring. My allergies have come back. Ugg.
Hey everybody.
Well, I have had an amazing week. My friend from thespian club asked me out on Thursday. We hung out at the mall for a few hours today, and I think I’m really starting to like him…and maybe he likes me, as well…He’s actually initiating hugs and hand-holding, and I think he really likes…my personality? I mean, he hasn’t once said “Hey, you’d look good in ___” or “It’d be cool if you were like ___.” I don’t know. Either I’ve just run into a lot of rude guys throughout my life, or…I just don’t know. Oh well. I think this is the start of something good. Something really, really good.
281-well good for you. sucks that you have to hang out in the mall tho. *feels happy that he lives in new york*
gahh
my guitar will not sound like i want it to. edguy pwns~!!!!!!!!! i saw edward scissorhands today at BAM. it was really good. it was like all dance and they were amazing. and edward scissorhands looked like marilyn manson.
Yeah. The mall’s fun and everything, but it does get boring after awhile. TC does have a neat downtown area, where you can just go to kill time, but it’s pretty small. *Thinks about how much she wants to visit NY*
282: How do you want your guitar to sound?
ãŠã¯ã‚ˆã†çš†!!!!!!
Seulement les gapas ont les noms verts.
La Rose est mon identité alternative.
(286),
C’est vrais, nous sommes distingués.
285 – how do u make those symbols? and what do they mean? maybe we should have a foreign languages thread. i know the Coy Woodnesse thread sorta did that for us, but could we have a thread that actually centers around foreign languages? pleez?
289 – They’re Japanese.
I can spell my name in Japanese (and anyone else who wants their name). It’s クㇻ-ㇻ (Clara). Yay! (I took Japanese for 8 years and I basically only learned the alphabets…15 minutes/day for 4 days/week with a bad teacher won’t get you very far)
*headdesk* bleh. tamagotchi woke me up half an hour before I wanted to be woken up. blehhhh.
You know, guys, I’m feeling seriously unloved, right now! Nobody’s responded to any of my posts here in, like, forever…
im responding
292: Alright, I’ll ask you something. D’you know Damien Rice?
Pies to Shadowkat!!!!!! Sorry! Maybe we’ve just been lazy. Or perhaps your posts were written in invisible ink.
The GAPA responded to my post!!!
*grins and jumps around*
And, Kiki_the_great, I am on here because you suggested it in the January 2007 issue. Thank you! *pies* I am now seeing how awesome THIS is!
and on to the topic:
I looooove Latin. It makes so much more sense then English with all its weird variations.
Why is the front page all green?
297-St. Patricks day maybe?
The front page isn’t green is it? It’s not on my computer.
I just finished writing an essay about the court case Morse v. Frederick. the gist is that a kid held up a banner saying Bong hits 4 jesus when the olympic torch passed through Juneau. He was suspended for 10 days and now there’s a big dicusion on if the principal should’ve suspended him or not.
299-a lot of the text is, on my computer at least. I assume that’s what kiki was talking about?
why do british people write the date differently? and what side of the car is the wheel on? and what side of the road do you drive on? Sorry, i’m curious.
I think we need a new thread…..
Fellowmusa et Liesolottia amat Latin. (Fellowmuser and Liesolotte love Latin.)
I will get confuzzled between Latin and Spanish. I’m taking both at the same time.
Why is the topic death? It should be foreign languages.
269- Yes, the snow is wonderful, we had a snow day Friday and it’s finally winter! I ♥ snow. Why? Do you live around here? *hopes*
It’s MARCH. Why would they cancel school ’cause of snow in MARCH? Absurd.
304 (me)- I had the wrong thread. Oops!
304 – shouldn’t it be Fellowmuser et Liesolottia amaNt Latin?
Why does the museblog make an extra scrolly arrow that doesn’t do anything appear below the real arrow? I’m using firefox.
I don’t know much about latin, but I think it should be amant. But basically all I know of Latin is “amo amas amat amamus amatis amant”, And I’m not 100% percent sure about what each of those means. I think it’s amant in this case though.
307-No idea. nothing like that on safari.
We have over 300 posts!!!!
308-Hmmm… I wonder why the GAPAs didn’t make a new one. Oh, well, those poor MAPs are really busy these days!
308 – that’s the conjugation of the verb amare (to love) in the present tense:
amo – I love
amas – you (sing) love
amat – he/she/it loves
amamus – we love
amatis – you (pl) love
amant – they love
Latin 2 ftw… Did any of you guys take the National Latin Exam? I did for the second year this year. Last year I got summa cum laude; don’t know about this year yet.
