Hey agagabagabag, can we still hack into Google if we have a new thread?

Okay, I’m not serious. Not about hacking. But we need a new mission, since we completed the Rebecca B. one. Fiendish plans, anyone?

I must have done something wrong. I got a reply today. It said:

    Dear Rebecca,

The Muse conspiracy theory is nothing to worry about. Although, rumor has it Koko’s running for president in 2008.

    Musingly yours,

    Mimi

That’s not what we were going for, is it? I probably submitted it to the wrong place. Drat!

Still, it’s kinda cool to find that in your inbox . . .

6- No it doesn’t. It mentions MuseBlog and the fan page, but not Mostly Harmless.

  9. Lizzie says:

Guys, please do not go messing about with wikipedia. Before you post anything on there, read the freaking mission statement or whatever it’s called and make sure that what you’re editing is actually IMPORTANT and actually needs to be in an ENCYCLOPEDIA. Wikipedia is not the place to push one’s pet projects.

  10. Robert Coontz (Administrator) says:

Lizzie is right. We got complaints on Wikipedia a few months ago, after overzealous MBers published a lot of details about the blog. I was afraid the article would be zapped, so I went back and edited it down to the bare essentials. Please restrain yourselves.

The “editing history” section of every article on Wikipedia bears this warning:

Wikipedia is not an advertising service. Promotional articles about yourself, your friends, your company or products, or articles created as part of a marketing or promotional campaign, will be deleted in accordance with our deletion policies. For more information, see Wikipedia:Spam.

  11. E2MB says:

7 – The mail guy at the Muse Headquarters probably didn’t know it was for the Q&A and wrote a quick response on the back of one of his check-box postcards. Am I right?

Look under the Q&A section in Muse, there’s a special address. Did you send it to that one?

    Pie 0

  12. E2MB says:

    8 – Robert must’ve deleted it.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  14. Lizzie says:

13 – just because someone else does it doesn’t mean that you should, too. After all, if gatorade jumped off a cliff, would you jump off a cliff as well?

And anyway I think most of that article falls under “informative” rather than “promotional”. Dunno, I just skimmed it.

  15. Alice says:

9, 10- I wasn’t about to. I couldn’t do that anyway, or at least I wouldn’t dare try. It would probably be deleted as “trivia” anyways.

11- I hate to say this again, but I do not possess a single issue of Muse from before the ’90s. Yet. I do have a subscription now, but the next issue doesn’t come out till July, I think.

15 – There were no Muse issues before the 90’s. *is confuzzled* But that address appears under the Q&A section in every issue, so even if you own only one issue of Muse at the moment you should be able to get the address.

18- Rebecca B. :) Weren’t you here for the planning of our mission? We were going to write to the Q&A column about the “mostly harmless”, under the pseudonym Rebecca Baker. (In honor of Lady Bunniful and Paul Baker, of course.)
I tried it, but something went wrong . . . I should have addressed it to the Q&A column directly. I wonder if we could still make “Rebecca” write without anyone getting suspicious.

We should all start trying to become famous and then tell everyone about Muse. It seems like being famous these days gives you more control over people under 21 than being a member of a lawmaking body. If we all try to become famous chances are one of us will make it and then the rest of us will become famous by association. Since we’ll be aiming at younger people when we start, we’ll have a strong influence on their future. We can also try to appeal to older people, but they are less impressionable.

I like the direct approach: Write “www.musefanpage.com” on a few dozen squares of origami paper. Fold them into hot-pink bunnies. Carry a few around with you. When you see another kid doing something Muserly (such as reading a book at a baseball game), walk up, hand him or her a bunny, say “You need to know about this,” and melt mysteriously back into the crowd.

Online, you could pique people’s curiosity by promoting the “Kokopelli for President” campaign at Musery Loves Company (www.cafepress.com/musery). That would avoid the potential problem of having hordes of non-Musers showing up on the blog.

Two things: One, a guy entered a plant into the election for mayor in some california town. It got a decent number of votes, too. Maybe we need to start smaller…. say, for example, (I’m not thinking of smaller government roles) simply getting people aware of Kokonspiracy, and start thinking of what our ideas actually are. People, we “kan” bring kokonspiracy to an entirely new level if we become a group about this and aproach it as a youth’s organisation, a way for us youngsters to get heard and noticed.

the second thing, we should write a few ideas we have about the kokonspiracy (what it is, what is stands for, what we can use it for, etc) join the ideas into a sort of proclamation, print it out, and start hanging it on bullitan boards at libraries, schools, parks, churches, etc. If we all print out two copies, we’d have a lot of flyers. ;D

I ask everyone I know if they have read Muse.

During orientation I was sitting around with L and B and their friends and they all struck me as extremely Muserly. So I asked, “Do you like Muse?” and L and B were all like, “MUSE?????” and I’m like, “OMG! (This is too good to be true.) The science magazine?” This stopped them. They thought I was talking about the rock band. So that sort of failed. I’ve done my best to convert B, though. I sent her an HPB. So it might work.

    (285) I’m not sure what you mean by a “Linux distribution,” but if it involves programming computers to send e-mail to lots of people who aren’t expecting it and haven’t asked for it, then that’s spamming. But maybe you have something else in mind.

  290. The Man For Aeiou says:

289- do you know what linux is? it’s a free (as in free speech) operating system thats you can modify. we can take a free version (ubuntu, for example) change a few things (like, having muse games, and pies ever where, and change the desktop envierment to KDE from GNOME, and other stuff to make it muse like), stick it up on the fan page as a download, and maybe write a manuel for it. look at post 91 and 92 on https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=794
a distribution is a fancy name for a group that puts linux up for download.

Vixen (283): Really? Cool! I don’t think we’re planning on visiting him anytime soon, but we might be able to go this summer.
