Hello, newcomers. Don’t be alarmed by all the pastry slinging, we’re not norally this
violenteccentric with the pieing. But it’s your first, so it’s special.So, to get around, read the rules, which goes without saying, and the H2G2(Hitchhiker’s Guide to Museblog, some FAQs and such) too. Sometime’s you don’t notice the tabs at the top right away, but they’re there for your use.
Who’s here gives a list of most of the Musebloggers who come here, and if you stay with us you’ll probably end up there too
What’s here is an archive of all the old threads on Museblog. It takes a while to load and many of them arn’t open anymore, so it’s easier to just stick with the threads on the homepage untill you get the hang of this blogging buisness. Then if you find a thread with a subject you’d really like to talk about but it’s closed, ask one of the GAPA to make one and they probably will.

Okay, newbies, there are several types of threads.
1.Monthly threads. These are the chameloen thread, the random thread, “Don’t Forget These Threads”, and the newbie thread. A new one is made every month.
1.a: The Incredible Morphing Chamelion Thread is a monthly thread that (true to its name) morphs. By that I mean its topic constantly changes. The GAPAs choose a topic at the beginning, and later they can change it. Posting about an “old” topic counts as an off topic post( a post that does not comply with the topic of the thread it’s on).
1.b: The random thread is a monthly thread, with a variing title, the title changing every month. It is a “numbered” thread (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, etc.), a new part coming up about once every 300 posts. However, this month, the first installment of the random thread (July Jam) is not “Part 1”, so certian MBers think there might be just one a month from now on.
1.c:Don’t Forget These Threads is a thread consisiting of an explanation, followed by a number of links to various threads, then the posts, mostlty reqests for new threads to be put on. When a thread is pushed off the main page by newer threads, MBers may request that the GAPAs place a link to that thread on “Don’t Forget These Threads”. If the GAPAs put it up, the name of the MBer who asked for it will follow in parentheses.
1.d: Welcome Newcomers comes in editions (June 2006 Edition, October 2005 edition…), and is a thread for welcoming and piing those who have just come to the blog( newbies). You’re on it right now if you’re reading this.
Numbered threads are in Parts 1, 2, 3, etc. Another part can be made after 300 posts.
Version threads come in v. [year].1, 2, 3,etc. The numbering starts over at the new year.
I plan to form the Off Topic Post Police (OfToPoPo), a PoPoPo-like organazation fining OfToPoers (Off Topic Posters) virtual choklit (choklit=chocolate).
I think that’s just about all you need to know. Oh, by the way, one of my favorite threads, Muse RPG, is dead. I would like newbies to please go there, read the opening posts to see how it works, get characters, and join one of the adventures, or start your own. That may get it rolling again!

I think that we should still be careful. Before you post something, think “Is this pointless”. If it is, don’t post, or combine it with something else. We shouldn’t not PoPo because we’ll be fined if we do, but because we know that it’s the wrong thing. And yes, the PoPoPo do count as pointless, so before you fine someone ask “Do I really need to do this?” and the answer is “no”. You can still ask them to stop PoPoing in a post with content, but don’t fine them. Come out of the corrupt PoPoPo, you’ll feel better. I know from experience.

I’m not sure that it’s a good idea to say that someone is the nicest blogger when people are just getting on, because that would bias them against people like me, who are actually nice but get extremely annoyed at times and seem to be mean.
Sorry if I’m off-topic, but I really must share: Has anybody checked the IAT site recently? ‘Cause they’ve updated! They have new tests, and a few new tricks, etc. It requires a registration and you need permission if you’re under 18 :frown:. But problems aside, the first test you do after you register (at least for me) is to take a ‘New Person’ test, where you learn things about two people. Then you take the old style of test (with four answers, though, which complicates things) associating good and bad with two new people, but these people are from the same ‘group’ as the first two, and look somewhat like them. Oh, hello, newbies. I haven’t been on here in the longest time.
*pis go to Augwic, cilroxmysox, crimson moon, and whoever else there is* trust kokopelli isn’t new? S/he isn’t in Who’s Here, and I don’t remember them on any thread I frequent. *pi*
And, to echo Glassboro, please use proper spelling and grammar. It’s not like IM, where you have to be fast. It’s not like a forum where you can edit your posts, either. I have been on both of these, and yes, it is harder here, but it is worthwhile. And if you don’t, several people get very angry at you and form bad impressions. I happen to be one of these people, and I have ranted about this in the past, and it is unpleasant for everyone involved. You can get plugins to check spelling (in Firefox and Internet Explorer 7 at least). Thank you.
