*gasp* wow!! you put a poll thread in here for me!!!!!! (you must have done that just now cause I was just on here a few minutes ago!) And first post!!!!!!!!! I feel so loved!!!!!!!!!!
Poll: Would you rather be in a dark scary room all alone OR be in a brightly light room with Michael Jackson?

I don’t know about you but I choose a dark scary room. How ’bout you guys (and girls)?

I don’t really have a favorite, but I like most of the ones with Paul Baker in them, I like the LOTR issue, I like the Taklamakan Mummies one from a loooong time ago (it was my first Muse– whaddya expect?) There are more I can’t remember.

More on the Michael Jckson question: Not only does a dark scary room win, but so does a forest at midnight on Halloween all by myself after just having watched a horror movie. Even if there was no moon and the forest was known to have chain-saw murderers and werewolves in it, it would still be no contest.

same here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with MontgomeryGurl, milk chocolate is WAY better than dark chocolate!!!!!!!!!! I don’t really have a favorite issue… I, as a devout muser, love all the issues and stuff!!!!!!!!!!!
New poll- Would you rather suffocate or drown? *neither is not an option*

    ?????????? I don’t know???? suffocate???? I guess????

    Pie 0

  11. Ebeth The Lurker says:

my fav issue is probably the napolean/hornblower/shipworm one…that one rocked. I loved the feb. one..some year or another…w/the sword stuff, that was cool. and all hail pb&j’s instrument one!!! the harvington hall rocked too…oh and i loved the parasites…and the tombstone readings from the last one…the lotr issue rocked…and y’know what, i just love muse!! :D

oh the black death was awesome!!! so of course my lb had to lose it!!! i was sooo mad!! i am definitely getting it off the back issues…someday…soon…ish.

oh yes and you know the pirate one from waaaaaaay back..back before me even, i read it at a sleepover w/riette who’s been getting it for ages…well that one totally rocked. i was so sad i didn’t have it!

AAAH! and the capt. kidd one…that was in the napolean/shipworm/hornblower wasn’t it? anyway…enough muse-ish ramblings…

kricket, i would rather drown. i don’t know why but suffocation just seems worse. even though they take the same amount of time (about) i suppose just cuz i like water. i actually can’t even really imagine drowning in it…but whatever.

    Pie 0

  12. Kricket (Krissy) says:

I know that was a hard one… ohohohohohohohohohohoh!! I remember the black death one!!!!!!!!!!! That one was awesome!!!!!!! Of course I loooooooooooove the October issue (The one we just got) duh… The Tower of London was cooooooooolllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  13. MontgomeryGurl says:

I love the black death one, also. Same with the Horatio Hornblower issue.

I think I would rather suffocate. I don’t know why, but ever since I first learned to swim I have prayed that God doesn’t let me drown. Almost no other death seems as bad, and I don’t know why drowning does. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that a few times in my life I have accidently sucked water up my nose, and it is very painful. I’ve also had to stay under-water for longer than I had air to, and that is not pleasant either, so maybe I’m just afraid of the known.

  14. MontgomeryGurl says:

I really don’t have anything to say, I’m just sort of rambling.

Would you rather: have a lot of good friends, or one or two great friends?
Spend a day alone with a book, or with a lot of friends?

I would rather have one or two great friends, because I measure my relationships by the depth they go to, not how many of them there are. I woudl also pick alone with a book, because while I like people, spending too much time with them tires me out, and after a whole day I would be totally exhausted.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  15. Ebeth The Lurker says:

one or two great friends. why do you think popular people are always so depressed? friendship has to have meaning, and if it doesn’t then the number won’t change anything.

i would probably pick a book too. books cool. speaking of books i’m going to the books+movies thread and you people had better get over there too cuz that is a cool thread and no way are we gonna forget about it!!

I think the worst way to die would be dehydration.

  16. Kricket (Krissy) says:

is lots of great friends an answer?? Cause I have 7 great friends… I’d rather be alone with a book because I am an devout reader and also I like my space sometimes…
Would you rather: skydive or hang-glide? read a book or play outside? Halloween or Easter? Christmas or your birthday? draw or write? stay up or sleep in? morning bird or night owl?

    MY Answers:
skydive. both. Easter. ???? write. stay up. mix.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  17. MontgomeryGurl says:

I would rather hang-glide, no real reason though. Much rather read a book, mainly because the weather here is almost never nice. I don’t celebrate Halloween, but I think I would love Easter best even if I did. It has a lot of meaning in Christianity, and I get to see my grandparents and have a ton of fun. Christmas, because it’s a month long gear up, and then a week long celebration, whereas my birthday only occupies one day. Write. Sleep in, without a doubt, because if I don’t get at least nine hours, preferably ten, of sleep, then I’m tired all day. I don’t know, I guess a mix.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  18. Lizzie says:

neither, I’m afraid of hights, read a book, Halloween because 1. I’m not Christian, and 2. all of the fluffy little bunnies laying eggs sort of creep me out, my birthday because it’s in the summer so I’m usually in CA which is nice weather, write, sleep in, morning.

I found out about Muse when I was getting Cricket Mag. and saw the subscription in the mag. My mom helped me subscribe to it. I get PONY(a mag. for all you horse lovers out there), Kids Discover, and… I think that’s it.
My friend KS gave me the subscription to PONY.
I found the Muse subscription (my mom pays for it mwahahaha)
My mom got me the Kids Discover magazine.

I don’t really read the Kids Discover but I like Muse and PONY the best.

  38. MontgomeryGurl says:

I got it because I was subscribing to another magazine called Explore, that was, quite frankly, horrendously boring. Well, I had that magazine, and then following 9/11 something happened and the maazine was “unable to fulfill my subcription”, so they sent me Muse to end it off with. I loved Muse so much that we renewed it, and I’ve had it ever since. It’s actually renewed through 2007.

i knew the company, cuz my mom had a whole load of old cricket mags, you know the one w/the little bugs. those rocked. she threw them away though (they had bugs lol!)

I don’t get any other mags for me but i steal my parent’s time mag whenever it comes. that’s basically it. time and muse. nice combo. :D

I get all the Carus magazines by extension (I know someone who works there) and I read other magazines like NG or Time when I can get them. I don’t think I subscribe to anything. I found out about Muse when I was eight at my local library. When I was ten my mom finally relented and got me a subscription. Afterwards, we found out a family friend worked for the magazine, so I begged and begged until I got copies of Muse (and Cricket and Cicada) for FREE! Don’t be too jealous now, people…
I love rubbing it in people’s faces. HAHAHA! I GET FREE MUSE!!!

Another random poll ?: (this is in honor of Halloween) What’s your favorite candy, and whoat did you do for Halloween?

I don’t have a favorite candy. It’s probably something chocolate. This year, I dressed up as Monty Python (don’t ask why) I had rabbit ears and lipstick blood and a dead parrot on my shoulder (not real) and a kilt and leaky shoes and I know that because it rained and me ‘n’ my friends were the only people out so people dumped their bowls into our bags (literally) and it was very fun and I got MUCHOS DULCES. I love run-on sentences.

One more thing: If this isn’t some violation of privacy, what grade is everybody in/ how old are you?

    mine (in no particular order)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Lotr (I’m counting that as one looong movie btw)
    The Princess Bride
    Zorro (1940 version)
    National Treasure
    Raiders of the Lost Ark
    Potc
The Three Musketeers (disney version-real disney not animated mickey mouse one)
Pride and Prejudice (6+ hr. A&E version. that totally rocked)
and last, but most definitely not least
the old Star Wars movies (New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi) (again this is all one story so I’m counting it as one long movie.)

We don’t need a ranting thread. That would be all of them.

    10 fave movies? (no order)

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Monty Python’s Life of Brian (not for the sensitive or easily offended)
    Princess Bride
    LOTR extended editions
    Wallace and Gromit
El Alfabeto (my Spanish video. Probably THE funniest amateur video out there (she says modestly)You had to have been there, I guess.)

    Movies!
(No real order, just as I think of them)

    1. LOTR (THE top, my fave is Return of the King)
    2. Star Wars (A New Hope-Return of the Jedi are better than Phantom Menace-Revenge of the Sith) (Incidentally, the original title for Return of the Jedi was Revenge of the Jedi. I guess they decided Jedi don’t take revenge…)
    3. Phantom of the Opera
    4. Pirates of the Carribean
    5. Finding Nemo
    6. Raiders of the Lost Ark
    7. Apollo 13 (it was pretty good)
    8. The Incredibles (because I’m running out of choices)
    9. The Prince of Egypt (Story of the Exodus done in animation by Dreamworks with pretty good music)
    10. Errrr…. the Harry Potter movies (because that’s all that could possibly qualify)
    Anyhow…
I’m with Pheonix on crushes… totally immune so far…
Honestly, it’s normal to have a crush on a book character. I just never have. But lots of people do. But you never have to tell anybody who it is. You can just quietly have a crush on this random character. Really. It’s not even against the law or anything.

I like Circle of Magic, especially Shatterglass. Tris is SO cool! Briar is cool when the books are in his point of view, and Daja is where I got how Steel’s weapon of choice. Sandry, however, is just lame. I also like the Alanna books, but not the Kel ones, because she really IS a lump. the Daine books are ok, but sometimes Ms. Pierce spoils her charecters by making them fall in love, Daine was better off on her own, and I HATE Numair.
I also love the Prince of Egypt, although it isn’t entirely historiacally accurate. however, it is accurate enough to satisfy me, I don’t mind people taking creative liberty! I don’t like how they made Aaron a scapegoat, though.

About the crush thing from waaaaay back… Manga guys are just too hot for their own good. They have ruined me for life. *kisses picture of Tamahome* WAAAH! (And it doesn’t help that all the boys at my school look like adolescent baboons. Sadly, I am only slightly exxagerating.) Do any of the guys on here go to my school? Uhhh… sorry.

Mybe the answer to life, the universe, and everything is that we have been doing all our maths wrong and 6*8 is actually 42. Once we figure that out, we will have the True Question and can get on with life as if nothing had happened.

    That made no sense.

but it was 6*9, not 6*8…

    Pie 0
    Squid 0

THAT IS THE JOKE, PEOPLES! the point is that the fake question if what do you get when you multiply six byeight, which is wrong, so the real question must be what do you get when you multiply six by seven. I guess D.A. had trouble with multiplication or summat…
