Why yes actually – hanging on the bed. Thanks for asking.
Mine is at home and I am back in college land I didn’t have room for one in my small bag for the train, alas. But it’s with me in spirit.
My rainbow towel kept me warm today; it has been quite a windy day. Towels are, indeed, the most useful objects in the universe.
it is also useful for getting humiliated. for example:
today to celebrate towel day i ran outside screaming at the head of my lungs while waving a towel over my head (yes i do crazy stunts like that all the time. at Christmas i saw a bird and yelled at it for not dropping presents) and i thought no one saw me untill my neighbor shouted “HEY neighbor! what are you doing? calling a flamingo?” (he can be insulting) i stared untill he went away. no this is not something from my stupid imagination…
My dear Catwoman, your imagination is not stupid.
Catwoman Who?
It really isn’t, though, BattleCatra. My friend (who’d forgotten to wear a towel) said she’d do more or less the same thing. (Hopefully she won’t get humiliated, though).
Calling a flamingo? That doesn’t even make any sense…
In my book bag. *goes off to get it*
what gets more wet the more it dries?
Answer on the hare and the hedgepig (?)
I tied mine around my waist before coming to school. The second person I said, “Happy Towel Day!” to (an adult) replied, “I’m good; thank you.” Someone in second period who hadn’t heard of Towel Day but was an HG2G fan suggested wearing it around my neck instead of around my waist because they did that in the movie, so I decided to do that. Anyway, I was delighted to find about 4 and a half people who actually knew what Towel Day was, which was certainly more than I expected. (The half is someone who said, “Is that a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy reference?” which implied that he might have known about Towel Day but isn’t definitive). None of them remembered to bring a towel, but 3 said they would have if they had.
I told Linguine Happy Towel Day. He hadn’t heard of Towel Day but, when learning that it was a Hitchhiker’s Reference, high-fived me.
I didn’t carry my towel today, because my class was doing a service project today and I decided it would probably get in the way.
I did wear purple, though, so that bit was a success anyway.
I carried mine with me yesterday. I am proud to report that I have reached the point in my high school career where I can walk down the hall wearing a towel cape and nobody will look twice at me. I guess people have gotten used to my weird outfits.
Nobody got the reference, though. Alas.
