MuseBlog is being overhauled so that various components will work nicely together and not explode into a chrono-synclastic infundibulum or something. As a result, things may look odd around here for a while. We regret the inconvenience.

Gulliver’s Travels! I do remember this issue of Muse though…
A giant Feather? A don’t recall seeing that…
In the strip, which appeared in the February 2006 issue, it wasn’t clear who was normal-sized. Maybe the dialogue balloons from the panel will help clarify things (or maybe not):
Hehe. I remember that one.
Did you guys know that Gulliver does not only meet up with people who are 10x smaller than him, but also 10x bigger?
4- Really? I only remember the Liliputians.
I remember that one! It was funny
I remember! Funny. It’s cool to see Feather so close up! I ♥ Feather!
And Craw too. Well, I’m a bird, ya’know!
Red-tailed HAWK

Ooookay….. I just stepped outside for a second, and a decomposed squirrel (what was left of it, anyway) was dropped in front of me by a crow. Crows hate me. *stays inside, forever*
yeah! i totaly remeber that issue! I’m too lazy/ pretenting to do homework to dig it out of the suitcase i keep them in so can anyone tell me what it’s about.
you know whats funny? if i’m on the computer for a long time before i go to bed, as i’m trying to go to sleep emails and blog posts form in my head but the funny thing is that i envision my fingers typing on a keyboard and sometimes i make typos…. in my brain! tis strange.
9- obsessed much…
8 – Eew. Sounds like when a seagull dropped a fish right in front of my best friend, except the fish was still alive . . .
9 – I love pretending to do my homework!
10 –
I had the weirdest dream.
I was Maximum Ride and my flock consisted of all people I knew that looked like the flock, with the exception of Iggy. Like, Nudge was my friend Arielle and the Gasman was my brother. So we were flying around and we came to the School which looked suspiciously like my school. Something happened, and we had to split up. So me and Iggy, we flew to like, North Carolina. I had to dump him on a beach there because he was our backup plan or something. Then we went back to the School. So when we got there, we learned that the newest thing on the School’s agenda was zombies. My dad was Jeb, which was weiiiirdd. So then they were turning Angel and the Gasman into zombies, so I ran into the School. (Fang was mysteriously absent from this whole thing.) When I got in, something happened and I was just going to school in the School. We were in the cafeteria and I can’t remember what happened but there were a few zombies there. So lunch was over and we went upstairs and I asked Ms. Favor, my LA/Lit teacher, stuff about the zombies. She was all like, oh, you must be new. And I said yes. And she told me nobody had a name for the zombies yet but there was a contest to come up with one. She showed me the box and it was shaped like an Xbox 360. So I went to the classroom, which was outside by a lake. Someone fell in the lake and a Kraken came up and tried to eat us. Then I saw Iggy coming down from the sky! His wings were really big. He came down and then the Gasman was there and he wasn’t zombified. Iggy said he had to go to the bathroom so I took him in the School. The bathrooms were huge! They had beds in them! Then when I was done but Iggy wasn’t, I was waiting outside when my dad came up to me. I asked him if he was Jeb in disguise, and he said no. Then Iggy came out and then I woke up.
It was awesome.
12 – And Fang wasn’t even there?
Cool dream, though. I love wacky ones like that. Did you ever come up with a name for the zombies?
zombies don’t have names, do they? These are the questions that haunt me….
My cat has decided that My hand is lunch. It is very painfullike. I am avoiding homework
12-13- huh?? * is confuzzled.*
I remember that one!
15-Yum. A goat decided my hand was breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I had to pull away before it ate my whole arm because I was at a fair preforming in a karate demo.
I just did my homework. It was very boring. I honestly don’t care whether Texas should be green or not.
I don’t care either.. i probably should start my Homework….. oh if anyone pays attention to my posts they will see that i thought i had somewhere near a failing grade in latin( says the latin freak) but i don’t! have a 98! whoooooooo!
16-texas is usually red, right? on maps.
and politically i guess. </random pointless connections>
AAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGG.
My almost big sister (long story) is joining the army. I am mad at her. It’s really bugging me because she doesn’t know that I know and I really want to talk to her about.
I think she’s doing because they’ll pay for her college and I don’t think she really ‘gets’ that that after that she’s in the army for 8 years.
She doesn’t have to commit till june so maybe I can talk her out of it.
Help?
Just clarifying.
She’s 20 and is close enough to me to be my big sister, not actually related to me.
y don’t you just come right out and tell her that you know and how you feel about it. It shouldn’t matter that you found out (unless you pulled an illegal James Bond to find out)
I remember that comic! Sorry if Im behind in the conversation; I usually don’t post on the random thread, too fast to keep up. (especially with a monster schedule like mine
)
19,20-OMG, so sad. I feel for you. If she’s not already gone, try to have a nice and serious talk with her about it, and tell her how you feel. Try to do it ina comfortable place where you two can bond.
I hope it helps, I’m pretty good at stuf like this.
Part Four: Becoming More Involved
I actually forgot what I was going to post for this. Good thing there’s the What’s Here page. This is where my “history” becomes a little less chronological. This is where I began to post and really fit into the blog. I posted on the Muser Profiles, Part 2 thread, and first encountered Beavo. I posted on one of the Religions threads(Religion 2007.2), and made a point that will come up again in another part of my “history”

FS- Could we have a civil discussion about religion? I would like to post something but I am afraid that you will start attacking me about my beliefs. You are not always right, there is more than one way to be biased, and you can give people information without trying to sound superior to them.
I think that I was trying to say that I wanted just to know that there would be at least a minimum of respect for other people’s beliefs. This comment was not received well.
Within a few weeks, I had also requested that a thread be created, and so Questioning the ‘Net was created, and died within a couple of weeks. Soon after this, I caused much confusion by changing my name to RavenHawk, and I believe that this is where this part of the history ends.
23- the thing is, she’s not going to start training till June, then she finishes college (about 3 years) and then she goes, so it’s more of a distant future going to be deployed to a distant country thing
ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!!
ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!!
ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!
I am leaving for NYC Friday, and wont be back until Thanksgiving day, so I wont be here for a long time! Just thought I would tell you! I probably will stop coming on today though, because I have TONS AND TONS of projects and work to do before I go……so love ya!!! I will miss you guys so much!!! BYE!!! *hugs all musers* *cries*
* cries* *gets over it*
26- Dang. It’s probably too late, but please check Just Friends. I have some advice for you. Scroll up once you go there, it’s been awhile.
19: 1)Tell her you heard she was planning on joining the army.
2)Ask her why.
3)Tell her why you think she shouldn’t.
There it is-my advice in three easy steps! (“three easy steps” -it sounds like an infomercial
)
26: Cool. Have a great time!
greekgurl, you are so incredibly lucky to be able to learn latin. I would love to learn it.
so I’ll be happy for you, which sounds lame unless you realize I considered being jealous. It’s easier to be happy than jealous, though.
don’t be jealous take it “Cum grano salis” (with a grain of salt) basically be happy for me!
29 – If you’re really interested in taking Latin, you could see if there are any courses on-line. That’s how I take Latin since the middle school doesn’t offer it.
i take it at my high school but im in advanced, maybe your high school offers it and most colleges do too.
I get shepard’s pie for dinner, and it’s vegetarian too!!!!!!
My local public high school offers Latin, but the state’s math and science academy where I plan to go doesn’t. However, I’ve studied Latin on-line and at summer camp.
33- that defeats the purpose of shepard’s pie!
not if you’re vegetarian. It is with fake meat. ’tis good.
some of the filling dripped down onto the bottom of the stove and now the kitchen is filled with smoke, oh well.
wewt latin! i’ll be taking that again next year, since it HAD to be 7th period again this year *sulk* i don’t know much though, i had pautsch and then doc. (pautsch was horrible, doc’s just fun but he doesn’t teach much)
do you use ecce romani? in pictura est puella. puella nomine cornelia.
(yes i still remember my first sentence…sad, isn’t it?)
aah, that book was so fun. the obesus vir and the frater with the pink shoes…and the lupus who chased sextus up the tree
</memories>
so bill and leeny and i went kareoke-ing today. we got a supposedly soundproof room, but we could definitely hear the people next to us.
it was pretty sweet, it had pics of kokopelli all over the walls. i took pics on my cell. i need to get those onto the comp so i can send them in…i’ve also still got that kokopelli towel from the ohio state fair (wow, that was a long time ago) and i may or may not still have the pic of hewitt’s koko t-shirt (i don’t think so…i think it didn’t turn out well…oh well)
anyhoo, it was at a japanese place and we saw lots of schmexy japanese boys (because come on, they are schmexy, can’t deny it) who were unfortunately usually accompanied by equally pretty japanese girls. (aww, darn…jk :D) they had a LOT of songs, and they had them in like five different languages too. it was great. except i did if i could fly by helloween and it was SOOO SLOOOW so i skipped halfway through. same with american pie, we sang the whole song there but it was rather painful. they don’t need to slow down the slow songs!
Anyway, i have 668 words of nano left for today (yeah, i’m up to 2k a day now because i’ve given up trying to actually catch up) but that should put me at 50k on the 30th (risky, but what can you do? I’ll try to get a bit ahead (for me, anyway) next weekend, but i’m ushering for scapino and my lb has a concert and we’re going to see spamalot, so bit of a busy weekend)
We’re only on chapter 6 In villa sedet vir Romanus
I love shepherd’s pie!
Vegetarian kind, that is
BYE DANCERGIRL!!!!!!¡¡¡¡¡¡!!!!!!!¡¡¡¡¡¡!!!!!!!! Have fun! This past month we drove by NYC at sixty miles n’ hour on the highway, and I took a couple of pictures
They came out okay too!
Red-tailed HAWK

I’ve never been to NYC… maybe i’ll convince my parents to go there fror my birthday and dually avoid all your birthday pies….. ironic that i’ve never been into the city itself but i live so close (I agree that with NY’s population it is safe to say this)
l’m back!
This isn’t much of a novel but it’s funny!!! BTW, this isn’t finished.
Ways to annoy Snape
1. Get several muggle bouncy balls.
2. When he walks out of the door, throw them past him and yell, “Go, Pikachu, go!â€
3. When he hands out a detention in class, jump up wildly, wave your arms and yell, “PICK ME! PICK ME!!!â€
4. When Snape starts talking in class, say,â€Oh no, it’s those voices again!!!â€
5. When Snape asks you a question in class, ask him, “If I get this right, do I get a cookie?â€
6. Then grin like an idiot.
7. Constantly grin like an idiot.
8. Draw a lightning bolt shaped scar on his forehead when he is asleep.
9. Switch his peanut brittle with cockroach clusters.
10. Proceed to wear armor to Potions for the rest of the year.
11. Tell him you’ll give him a gold star if he’s nice to Neville this class.
12. Send him a plate of cheese.
13. Stinky cheese.
14. With crackers.
15. Stale crackers.
16. Ask him if he knows the song that never ends.
17. Proceed to sing the song that never ends.
18. In the middle of Potions.
19. During a test.
20. When he asks you to stop, say you cast a charm on yourself and you won’t be able to stop unless he kisses you.
21. It has to be a real kiss.
22. Casually mention that the kiss has to be in front Hagrid, Dumbledore, and Mcgonacoll.
23. Follow him everywhere he goes… except the bathroom.
39-I know that I can’t spell.
41-
I have old people knees. They hurt very muchful right now for no apparent reason.
whoops, I meant 42.
42- That’s funny, if you like stuff like that, I’d advise to go to MuggleNet and read the “Funny Lists” section, and to look up Bothering Snape on YouTube. Unless you’re an extreme fan like me and already have.
40 – NYC’s a lot of fun. I happened to be there in that 2003 blackout in the northeast US. *remembers skyline with no lights* It was quite intresting.
37 – Bye, bye Miss American Pie, drove my Chevy to the levy . . . I love that song! Last summer I became completely obsessed with it, I played it at least five times a day for about two weeks, and then I found a different song to obsess on.
30 – Sempur ubi seb ubi! I decided to look up a random latin phrase, and came up with this!
19 – I have a sophmore friend who wants to do that to pay for college. I’m sure she could get a scholarship, but since my friend’s dad was in the army, she wants to be in it too, which would be perfectly fine with me, except for possible death invloved.
15 – That sounds appetizing and read the Maximum Ride series.
YAAAY KIARA! Now there are a total of 3 known Maximum Ride fans on the blog! Lol.
NYC(assuming that means new york city) is rawther awesome! I visited the MoCCA (the museum of comic and cartoon art not the museum of contemporay canadian art) when they had the stan lee exhibit. it was pure awesomeness. the next time theres the MoCCA festival i am sooo forcing my mom to take me!
What happened to the new birthday notice-when you click, it says it isn’t there! November fooL!
Kag-I remember you saying you have people thinking you’re a guy…well, I think I have evidence that sometimes people think I’m a girl!
And it’s not like I wear pink or anything, I usually wear drab, dark colors or dark blue. Strange…
Red-tailed HAWK

(48) It should work now. Happy birthday, lifewithoutanipod!
Hi. I haven’t been on in a while. How is bloglife?
aaaaaaanddd
My brain is a wad of cheese today.
Why on earth would do people climb Mt. Everest? That’s what I want to know.
It’s still not cold here. I’m reallllllllly tired of this.
*is dead today*
50 Hiya skipper!
ebeth- Spamalot’s great! I saw it when it came here…
I got into an arguement with my geography teacher today.
I asked her if any of the information she was giving us would actually be useful in real life unless we were in a few select proffesssions and she couldn’t answer me. It was amusing.
I love my nice geography teacher. She puts up with me.
What sort of information was she giving you?
46 – w00t!
52 – I love doing that! The skill we learn in school that (for most jobs) we’re going to use the most in the “real world” is social skills, so we schould just cancel all classes and have recess all day!
(52, 54) As it happens, some students in my NaNo novel do that very thing to their teachers. Guess I won’t spoil your fun by revealing the tragic results….
55-* great cymbals of doom play in the background* HUH?!
My teachers are insane. And not in a good way. It’s like ‘Hospital Of The Transfiguration’ but not as cool.
You use math in the real world. I’m sorry, but it’s true. Math is the most important thing at school.
And I’m terrible at it, so there you go.
I have some really good teachers, but I also have some really dreadful teachers that make me think: “WHY do I have to suffer through this??”
I like all subjects in general, but whether I like the class or not depends on how good the teacher is.
55-*wants to read*
i like all my teachers this year actually. i don’t like math, but that’s just because i hate the subject. mc***’s cool. LOVE f*** (chem) and h*** (ap l/c and brit lit) and h*** (torch). m****’s kind of insane, but funny and she doesn’t care if you do hw as long as you contribute occasionally to the discussion (and it is very easy to talk politics whilst doing other hw). j*** (band) is alright. he’s no s****, but he’s growing on me. actually, i probably like him a lot more than i would if leah weren’t being such a b-witch to him (she infuriates me…such a bleeping bleepity bleep. ugh.)
but anyway.
i’ve had some pretty bad teachers too. like t***. haha. t***. don’t get me started on t***. *doesn’t start on t*** because it’s late and she has chem to do*
37-American Pie? *detests song* That is my Numero Uno worst earworm.
My math teacher is nuts. He keeps yelling at us and cursing. Not just mild, mannerly cursing. For example, he used a very bad word seven times in a sentence. “You (bleep)ing kids need to (bleep)ing (bleep) do your (bleep)ing (bleep) homework, or I’m (bleep)ing going to go (bleep)ing crazy.” I think he got in trouble for that.
My favorite candy is liquorice.
60- Is that the one that goes, “Bye bye Miss American Pie. Drove my chevy to the…..and the good old boys drinking whiskey and rye, singing this will be the day that l die, this will be the day that I die.”? I like that one.
I like my teacher, I’ve had the same one for five years now!
Fox: Teacher swearing? *BEEPPBEEEP* *RED ALERT NO_NO SIRENS GO OFF* *PIES BAD TEACHER*
Ebeth: Ack, for a minute I was afraid you were abbreviating words either the GAPAs or wordpress would otherwise omit. Anyway…
I occasionally think the classes aren’t going to help in the world, but then later it becomes apparent how they were just building up to something that will…
Also, I believe the GAPAs want to have people making swear words even less obvious than just using stars. If it was my way, everything would be bleeped, but that’s just me
Red-tailed HAWK

63- lucky you.
Gah. I Feel like I’m forgetting something. I didn’t have any homework…hmm…
Ack! me=just remembering I’m getting a flu shot today. Hemhawhlergghermhumph.
The new doctor says I’m too weak now to get the flu.
Red-tailed HAWK

61: Sounds like he already went crazy.
Most of the stuff we learn in school will probably help us in life. Or in college. Because even if you’re not going to go into that profession, they make you take certain basic classes in college. For example, today my English teacher was telling us about this really boring class that she has to take to renew her teaching certificate. Apparently, the teacher is, like, insane and makes all the students just walk around the classroom for five minutes and “think about the spaces in between the people.”
What really annoys me though, is if someone asks a teacher when you’ll ever need to actually know this information, and the teacher replies, “In case you ever go on Jeopardy.” I’ve had at least three teachers answer this way, and I mean, come on!
How many people sit in class and absorb all the knowledge they can because it is their life’s dream to go on a game show?
Hello, O good MuseBloggers! I have returned (once again) for an hour of ranting about life without a computer and frantic reading of past posts!
First things (names) first. You may be a bit puzzled by the above name, but I assure you, it’s still me. I just want to play around with names, use of middle names, initials, etc.
Second things (computers and lack thereof) second. I believe I am getting one soon, as in within a week, and my dad may already have it (I don’t want to ask because his computer crashed and lost everything, and it seems insensitive for me to ask about mine following such a catastrophe). Depending on whether it comes with a wireless card or not, I may be stuck on the old library computer for a while yet, but at least I’ll be able to write.
We’re moving tomorrow, to a place hideously far away from the bakery, co-op, and my mother’s place of work, but at least it’s a house, and it’s ours.

And it doesn’t have any furniture.
Oh well.
Hello, Alice Charette,
Great to see you! I very belatedly send you a bottomless box of virtual chocolate to distract you from thoughts of the awfulness of your house burning.
I’m glad to hear you’re on the verge of having a home again
68- Why thank you!
At this point it’s more likely to distract me from thoughts of future houses burning, but that’s something that I need distracting from.
36- ’tis, “tis..
65- Congrats!
69- Congrats!!!!!!!!!
Hi Alice!
Well, I got the shot. It didn’t hurt much, but if anyone else here gets one, do relax your arm. Once it’s in, you can’t even really feel it, even when they pull it out at ten million miles an hour!
I had them put it in my left arm. I am right-handed, so if my arm does end up hurting a little, it won’t affect my writing.
Plegm keeps collecting in my throat, and then I have to keep clearing it. And I’m not in public school!
Red-tailed HAWK

We got into a discussion in Spanish about gipsies. Mr. T (yeah thats his real name, foo!) thought that gipsies are thieves and robbers and blah blah blah (racist) and also that they choose to be gipsies. Thats wrong because gipsies are not always thieves and robbers and its also an ethnic group.
Also Duke beat New Mexico State last night. Go Duke! and Washington, and BC!
Why hasn’t Grant been posting in the past week or so?
I love luck!!!!!!!!!!
You see, I was working on a power point for my science project and didn’t have time to do my math homework and that was really bad because Mrs. B. doesn’t accept late papers but then I realized that I wasn’t going to be in math because I’m going to go to lunch with german club during that hour. So I am not doomed!!!!!
Rt-H – Congratulations! You survived! *pies for good measure.*
I haven’t gotten the flu shot yet, though I should really get one soon. I think I go to the doctor sometime soon so I’ll get one then. I seem to be very used to needles–doctors like to stick them into me very frequently. But I would much rather have blood drawn than get a shot, because when you get a shot it hurts for awhile afterwards, but if you get blood drawn it doesn’t. ::sigh::
Alice Charette – Ahoy, there! I’m glad you’re getting a computer and a house! ::sends happy thoughts::
59-woah, snippage! i suppose teacher names are stalkable
so today i had JSA after school and then i came home and wrote a bit but i only got in 500 words and then i went to the OU marching concert and saw harriman, prater, and muhlberger be sweet with the OU band. we also saw schneids, yay
hahnz was going crazy. shayna was like “hey, that looks like me the first time i saw the OSU band!” (shayna’s OBSESSED)
they played kewl stuff too, like queen and van halen and ok go.
they did great dances too…i really hope johnson comes next year because if you basically picture everything he doesn’t let us do…that’s what they did. freaking amazing. they also did a lot of horn swings and stuff like that
anyhoo, i’ve got 1500 more words to write so toodles all
I won’t be posting much due to ban on MuseBlog.
Don’t worry, I’m good at night sneaks, so I won’t completely dissapear.
77- Nooo! Beavo! Not you!
We’ve been losing people left and right. How many veterans will stay if we all keep fading away like this? Also, what exactly do your parents object to?
Goodbye, our Online Stalker and such.
77-NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! ZEMTEE PERSON!
*pies parents* did they not want you to turn into a stalker spy or something?
Ebeth-Ohh, you didn’t snip those! Okay…
Panda-Thanks for the pies! And good luck with your shot. My arm actually doesn’t hurt like I thought it would, only when I pinch it (“so don’t pinch it!” the doctor would probably tell me!
)
It might be that I’m used to limbs hurting right now, so I won’t guarantee it won’t hurt for you (plus my mom’s arm did hurt for a couple of days
)
But I don’t like having blood taken, since they have been needing to take it so much lately. I don’t think I will be able to donate–one big tube makes me dizzy now!
My Glow For Kids bracelet snapped when I tried to put it on yesterday!
Red-tailed HAWK

The right side of my mouth is enduring unbearable pain. Which is kind of an oxymoron, but OW.
And I haven’t even gotten my braces yet!
They put a little spacer in between two of my molars cuz there’s not enough room for the metal of the braces to go it, and BOY does it HURT. They’re forcing my teeth apart! OOOOOWWWW, I can barely talk.
EEEKKK!!!! I didn’t know about Alice’s House!!!!!! I’m really sorry to hear about it. *sends virtual choklit*
Oggy, oogy, and ogey. l’m sick. l have cold, a sore throat, and exhaustion. This has been happening since monday. Urg.
82-Sorry!
80-Sorry! I couldn’t stand having metal and stuff in my mouth
I am tired. I got to bed at 11:30 LAST NIGHT!!! *DIES*
Red-tailed HAWK the Tired

Extemely funny qoute from Sore Thumbs, an amewsome webcomic. The mian character, Cecania, is imprisoned and being interrogated by an FBI agent.
FBI guy: Tell me…if you’re not a terrorist, why did you choose to work for terrorist producers?
Cecania: I didn’t know they were terrorists, sir. They told me they were starting a new horror series for cable TV.
FBIG:That’s not what Fox News is saying! They’re saying that you’re a traitor to our country! Like the Dixie Chicks!!
C: Um…you’re the government. You probably shouldn’t get your info from Fox News. Did you know the guy who runs Fox News isn’t even an American? He’s from another country entirely! Nobody knows what the country is that he is from. For all we know, it could be TALIBAN! Taliban is a country, right? An evil one?
FBIG: Wow. You’re like, a fountain of knowledge and wisdom! Do you have a computer in your brain, like in the movie The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes ? I love that movie. Did you know that Kurt Russell reprised his Dexter Riley role in TWO other films? He turned invisible in one, and gained super strength in the other!
C: Of course! (thinking) Please don’t kill me!
(52 The Insane Blue Sage) If we only ever learned things because we thought they would be useful, we wouldn’t learn much at all. Because you can’t know how useful information is if you don’t know, now, do you? Hence the necessity of having an education.
Also, I think the attiditude that you only should learn stuff that is useful is rather boring.
(69 Alice) Hello! Congrats on your new house!
(72 Cliff Eagle) This is true. I remember once when some gipsies came to the town where I used to live (in France). They parked there caravan in the this big empty lot near my school and put on a circus.
(74 The Insane Blue Sage) Well that’s nice. Yet another benefit of studying another language!
(80&82) *sends gallons of sympathy and virtual choklit*
I’m going to dinner at an Ethiopan restaurant tonight with Darfur Club to celebrate our last event!
I’ve never had much luck at predicting what information would or would not come in handy someday. The world is pretty surprising. In my experience, it’s safest just to learn everything you can. That policy doesn’t give you snappy comebacks for teachers, but it tends to pay off in other ways.
I think it’s important to know about many things, even if you won’t use that information in your future life. It’s a good thing to be a well-rounded, educated person.
The most painful shot I’ve ever had was the Typhoid vaccine. I had to get it to go to South Africa. It was torture–I couldn’t move my arm for an entire day, and I was actually crying from the pain. (I was in second grade, but still).
I’m really used to getting blood drawn, but I don’t think I’ll be able to donate. I’m not old enough, that’s one thing, but I also get really light-headed. If I have to get a lot of bloodwork done, I need to get the blood taken in two or three different days because if they take it all at once I’ll get really really faint and such. Plus, they probably don’t like the medications I’m taking, but I don’t know how picky they are.
World domination requires loads of information and many skills. As the Boy Scouts say: Be Prepared!
(Hmm… I wonder what kinds of merit badges Muse Scouts would have…)
67- Yay for Alice! And if you’re gonna get a computer, GET A MAC.
my teeeeeth hurrrrrrt
88- hmm. that is odd. I was thinking about that at the same time!
I went to a powwow yesterday. Powwows are really cool go to one!!!!
I had something somewhat important, or at least vaguely relevant to say but i forgot it.
600-ish more words for tonight?
OH yeah! i think there should be a bunny borg t-shirt
that was it. I would definitely get that for christmas.
bill’s mom told her that they weren’t celebrating christmas this year, but winter solstice, and bill was like “do i get winter solstice presents?” and her mom was like “sure!” i thought that was funny. i want winter solstice presents
Hello all, I’m back from the insanities that have been my life.
And my God, I’m tired. My God, I need to eat real food. My God, the songs in Once Upon a Mattress are catchy. My God, francais, c’est barbant. My God, I can’t wait for Thanksgiving break. My God, my God, my God.
These past couple of weeks have been a blur of singing, hugs, smoke, Cheez-Its, and homework. It’s been fun, but extremely overwhelming. I love musical, and at least I have friends there. But I’ve been getting home at about ten-thirty every night, after having only two hours at home after school.
And Alice, I heard about your house a while ago, but I never got the chance to send my sympathies. So, *hugs* (
“What is this?”
“Two forty-fives and a Mac 10.”
85-I didn’t say useless information was a bad thing…
93- “we’ve an opening for a princess, for a genuine certified princess” “Shyyyyyy! I’m so incredibly shyyyy! and this confident air is a mask that I wear ’cause I’m shyyyyy!”
I like learning.
91- Dude, have you read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian? lt’s great.
Well, l’m slightly better, but l’m at home.
for part of the senior-teacher auction, you can bid to pie one of your teachers
cream pies, i think. i want to bid for hemmel, but i doubt i’ll be able to afford that (bidding starts at $10, but people have already bid for him)
Rosanne and I pied each other for nothing, but, of course, that was an even exchange.
79-Oh, they already know I’m a stalker/spy. Last year they found my pocket notebook with all the personal information I gathered in six months of stalking Mikhela Pizana.
82-You didn’t happen to get that from me, did you? *hack, hack*
I dunno if I already said this (and I probably have) but I found a few people on NaNo (due to my experteese in stalking) and due to the MuseBlog ban I’d be greatful if y’all could pass on some tips via NaNoMail.
Thanx
Hooray for lights that are on cue!
See, the lights guy at my school, err…. T we’ll call him is rather… bad at getting lights on time so for our show today I sat up in the booth with him and said things like “T! Cue 8 lights full Go!” and made him do them on time. Hooray!
at our homecoming game last year I got to watch a kid from the rival school we were playing get pied. (they beat us though) and also this year we’re collecting donations for a charity but if you’ve donated the most you can pie this somewhat annoying, really annoying freshman year but actually rather great now you just have to be used to him kid. It’s great.
Guess what?!? It’s SNOWING!!
And it’s sticking to the ground, too!
It’s cool but clear here. I don’t think your storm is heading in our direction, alas.
URRGH! #103 where are you right now. I really want a snow day sometime soon!
But whatever, we have Parent-teacher conferences today and no school. But I have to do a lab report. cya.
No snow.
No snow.
No snow.
I hate having no snow.
What’s the point of winter anyway without snow?
You can have XMas in the summer, you know.
My friend in Canada had snow though. Yay for her.
103- ALSKFJHLAKSFHJ lucky.
stupid la nina. It’s 65 degrees.
guess what? IT’S…wait no, it’s…wait, now it’s…WILL YOU STOP CHANGING ALREADY! stupid ohio weather
scapino is SO FREAKING FUNNY. i’d already read the moliere play it was based off, so i knew the story so i was free to watch dan, ross, and dani go crazy while rachel peck was explaining everything to the audience.
dani was a hilarious bum. she was prolly my fav. rachel was great too, i’ve seen her act in loads of things but this is definitely her best play yet. lucy was geronte, she did a lot of stomping around and drinking capri sun, it was great. maddie had amazing entrances. they played darth vader’s theme for the first one
but i’d say the best part was ross being gangsta. you have to understand, ross is one of the whitest, preppiest kids in our school. it was hilarious. also, at the part where he started pulling weapons out of his pockets, he did some improv, and pulled out a hope in the unseen, which is what we’re reading for english, and a lion’s pride pass which gets you into all the sports games, concerts, and shows.
jacob got a cameo too, when dani steals the sleeping guy’s gelatti box and starts selling it and everybody’s like “gelatti!” and is crowding around, jacob runs in from offstage with his headset on and everything and buys some. that got a huuuge laugh.
anyway..yeah
The problem with Chicago weather is that it gets really hot, and then it gets really cold, too cold for snow (Yes, there is such a thing!). In a year, we get about two days of good weather. Alas, today is not one. It’s cold.
58 degrees in Boston, WTF! Darn you global warming I want my snow!
On the aggressive pie-throwing ban: Perfect timing. We’re working out a treaty on the other PW thread, so that’ll work out.
110-I’m pretty sure that I heard somewhere that it is never too cold to snow.
Oklahoma weather is uber-fun for instance, one week last year, we had snow tuesday evening, tornadoes wednesday, and triple digit weather on FRiday.
SNOW. Now. Please.
It’s supposed to ice on thanksgiving, but I’m out of school anyway, so it so doesn’t count.
hahahaha….snow
112- No more aggressive pies on MB… looks like I’ll have to find other ways to let out my anger.
ACK!!!!!!!!!!! *chokes on strange fluid issuing from thoat in terror* ACK!!! THE CLASSIC PIE WAR THREAD IS GONE!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!! WAH!
I WAS STILL ENROBED IN IT’S CALORIC CHAOS! *CRIES*
Phooey. That’s really sad. *pies self for nobody else wants to pie anymore*
By the way, Glassboro, I do not know why you needed to be so harsh with Cliff eagle, he is new after all…And, of course, we all are “teh Pwnage” right?
Anyway, I have a new haircut! kewl.
No snow yet, but it’s cold…
Red-tailed HAWK

WTF??? YOU GUYS CLOSED THE CLASSIC PIE WAR THREAD??? PORQUOI????
Actually, it was getting boring. But it was still a good place for me to take out my anger on other people in a (mostly) non violent way.
*goes to sulk in corner*
Oof, I’m tired…….. So, just here to announce that I AM alive still, even though I haven’t been here ion AGES and AGES and AGES…..namely, a week.
Ah well, I’m a mess. SO HAPPY TO HAVE INTERNET BACK!!!!!! But also so tttiiirrreeeddd……….. The past few days have been crazy, and tomorrow will be the most surreal yet. Plus a very early morning, not my specialty. Ugh.
It was pretty cold today but clear. Windy. Did I mention cold. There were snow flurries in the afternoon which was fun but nothing stuck which is fine by me as it means no shoveling. Yay.
So true story, i got new black pants that i wore to be a spiffeh usher, but i wore them two days in a row and for some reason every time i do that with dress pants/loose-ish pants that aren’t 100% cotton (like the muser, heh), i get a rash. This time it’s a large and painful one, right on the insides of my thighs so i get to walk around the house bowlegged for a while (although they should be ok in the morning actually. good timing i guess). right now they’re slathered in lotion and in comfy soft pj pants, so they’re actually getting quite comfortable, but the walk home was pain.
the play was again hilarious, not much new there. they did gifts today instead of sunday. why, idk, mebbe they figured more people would be there on a friday.
anyhoo, i’m going to go sleep because pater will be home soon and will make me go to bed anyway, and so i might as well go sleep and get up bright and early for nanoing! My goal this weekend-to write 8500 words. CAN SHE DO IT? dun dun duuuun. YES SHE CAN…maybe…?
but anyway, i’d rather get caught up now than have to rush it at the last minute. Although i doubt i’ll get the full 8500 this weekend, because i also have two essays to write, a chem test to study for, and SPAMALOT to go see *squees!* i’m excited for that.
another quick true story (actually, it’s a false story. why do i say true story so much these days? i think i got that from feds…let’s just blame her) i went in to flores to ask about one of the q’s, it was on the limiting reagents sheet, and to do that you first have to balance the chemical equation. well doing it by guessing and adding up and whatnot was basically impossible, so he was like “do it with algebra!” and lizzy and i were like “um…” so i went in after school and was like “hey, so i’m mathmatically challenged…help?” so he turned the smartboard on to show me. then i showed how easily amused i was by mixing up the markers (so if you pick up the red marker it would actually write green, etc) and he was like “yeah, yeah, and you can also do this, look” and he moved the eraser into the red spot and wiped it across the board and it wrote red and he was like “ooh…ok so back to the question”. it was kind of funny. then after that i basically gave him the impression that i was a complete idiot because i was insanely tired and couldn’t really think, but we got the answer eventually. let me repeat that flores gave me the answer (or helped…a lot) flores never gives you a direct answer, he’s just like “idk, you tell me,” and then we’re like “aaah, *fail*” but after a long explanation, he actually gave me an answer. Look for the end of the world any day now peoples, because it’s coming soon.
also…i shouldn’t be here bye
Who is in contact with FS? l would like him to know that at least one person misses him.
121-*ahemshadowkatahem*
hello! I’m back! did anyone miss me? sorry if i’m jumping into the conversation i just don’t currently feel the need to read a lot of posts.
so… where have I been? well, there was a grade 8 openhouse on wednesday which I was doing the lighting for and i didn’t get hom until realy late. then on thursday i was rehearsing in improv club for the parent auction and i didn’t get home until after 7 and i had a tone of homework. then on friday was the parent auction and i was there so late because my parents were at the auction. the auction was prety cool I have national ballet tickets for the spring! but the performance was excelent we did a hinterlands whos who on the life of a (not telling you my schools name) student. I played the flute in the back ground. Evan is actualy the funniest narator in the world… most probably… so yeah… now i have to go catch up on all the threads i’ve missed.
123-We missed you! Sounds like you had fun.
121-look for †FrigidSymphony†VIKINGS ARE TEH PWN!! on myspace. it’s definitely him

l don’t myspace…
121 (again) (i’m such a stalker…)-i emailed him your post
126-neither do i, he left it open
125-Didn’t it start with an E? Elias maybe?
Ah, the good-hearted*ahem* FS.
I got reading glasses. It makes me sad, bcause I was hoping to hold onto the last vestige of unnerdyness.Oh well.
Anyway, they’re really weak, and they make it easier to see MB (even If I can’t see the tree outside my window)
127- Thanks!
I speak Latin. I’m a nerd, and a geek.
(I like Star Wars and I speak Latin. ‘Nuff said.)
It’s so nice to have internet back. I missed MB SO MUCH!!!!!

I was slightly annoyed that the night we get internet back, I’m gone the next day. Ah well, it was great.
Oops,
Why I did that, I have no idea. I’m feeling random. Perhaps the euphoria of being able to post here again…… It does things to one’s mind.
You know what? I’m starting to think of changing my name. “Irregular Bump with Copious Fur” is just too… random.
136~ Yes, but it’s amusing.
Oh, and many thanks to the GAPA who fixed my mr greens.
I suppose I should be practising, or cleaning my room, or just having a life in general. But I’m not.
137- It’s amusing, but still… I’ll have to think about it.
Hi MF!!!
It is definitely feeling like winter. And smelling like it too, what with the wood smoke in the air!
136-Are you sure? I thought it was kind of neat, but anyway…
Well um. How shall I word this nicely, um, well, should I, no, I can’t—we just had a pwning kokonvention with two GAPAs!!!!
Sorry, I don’t mean to make people jealous or anything, but I guess the announcement should be made… But it was fun…
Red-tailed HAWK

133-are you new? *pies*
mebbe we should have a latin thread. there seem to be a lot of latinites around these days…
although don’t we have a relatively recent coy woodnesse up somewhere? i vaguely remember reading a post from PP off there a short-ish time ago. or mebbe i’m making that up
139-was that the chicagoland one? do tell! i thought that was over thanksgiving break though? is this a different kokonvention?
139- what? *is jealouse* tell me more!
139-*jealous*
I guess it was time to learn to spell jealous.
No, I wish I could go to the Chicagoland Kokon, but I can’t…this was Washington (city) with Robert, Rebecca, me, and…I’ll let the fourth Muser say if hiser wishes to..
We went to the NGA and had lunch at the NMAI. It was fun. I was wearing a big Mostly Harmless button, so it was also a great event for MH. many people looked at me strangely, and then sort of tried to get away, and after a few minutes eating lunch, most of the people left the food area!
/
Red-tailed HAWK

143- *chuckles*that sounds like it was so much fun! i wish i could meet the GAPAs’ *is even more jealouse*
Coy Woodnesse: https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=965
143 (Rt-H) – Really? That sounds awesome! Did you like NMAI? (I’m guessing you’re referring to the National Museum of the American Indian). I liked the exhibits they had, but they had a lot of gift shops–one on each floor, if I’m remembering correctly.
YES latin thread!
Whats really cool at the NMAI in DC is that when you walk in theres this sign with a bunch of native american languages saying “hello”. The NMAI is my favorite smithsonian museum.
136- So that’s who you are! I spent ages trying to figure that at. (Yeh, I’m stupid, I know.)
the NMAI has such good food *drools* i’m jealous too! GAPAs, you all need to move to ohio. except we don’t really have any cool museums. except the rock and roll hall of fame, which is pretty sweet, but their food isn’t that great.
ALSDKGHAOISETUfd [expletive] that reminds me that i left my sweet hat i got at the NMAI at the kareoke place and i told my dad to call them but i bet he never did!!!! NOOOO i need to go get my hat back and i have like no time today aaaah!
Ya know what? We need to have a Kokonvention some time at the Washington Spy Museum. It pwns all other museums.
150- Yeah, the spy museum is beast. My mom couldn’t keep her cover and got arrested in the museum. I passed though.
We should have a Kokonvention at the Lexington Battle Green. I’ll be there!
Hi again, I was the fourth Muser, and I had the most wonderful time.
The GAPAs are really wonderful people, and I’ve enjoyed every moment I spent in their company, at both Kokonventions, and hopefully there will be more! This goes for all the Musres I’ve met, too, just so you know. You are appreciated!!
We met at the National Galery of Art and looked at the Turner exhibit, then met Robert, went to lunch at the National Museum of the American Indian (the food was fabulous), and we all trooped back to the NGA to see the Hopper exhibit. Then we disbanded with hugs, Kokopelli salutes and strange looks from everyone near us. It was quite fun.
150 (Beavo)~ Yes, the Spy Museum is great, I went there once. I used to be really interested in everything to do with spys, so it was a major event for me to see it. I’d still love to go back and see it again, we didn’t see the whole thing, even though we were in there for five or so hours!! I loved it.
Where did my post go? I thought I said something here, a description not as good as MF’s, but maybe I thought about what I wanted to say and never really said it!
Red-tailed HAWK

129- Yeah.
God, l miss FS!
See comment 143.
you know museums with egyptian exibhits and stuff? well, i’ve always wondered what deludes the museum people into thinking it’s different from grave robbing. I mean seriously at the R.O.M they have a mummy and it’s sarcofagouse (spelling?) and all sorts of things that come from tombs (if i remember corectly, it’s been a while). because there really is no difference. they still get money out of it but not by selling the artifacts but by charging admission. hmmm….. i must ponder some more…
‘Twas fun. I got a kick out of the looks that people were giving us all. Sort of a combination of terror and amusement.
I just got back from a choir concert! We sang:
Bach’s Magnificat in D
Zigeunerleben
O Magnum Mysterium
O Nata Lux
Circus Band
(156 KtZS) But at least keep in mind that it’s for a slightly different purpose. Grave robbers steal stuff, sell it on the black market, and it’s never seen again or destroyed or damaged. Museums preserve stuff and allow to be appreciated by the general public and studied by scientists.
I got the new Muse today. This is special because this is the ninth year Museiversary. Woot i’m one of the most long-time muse subscribers.
I’ve been to the Spy Museum! I still have everything about the person I was written down…
this is the random thread, so here goes for a random story. most of you have read howl’s moving castle by dianna wynne jones, no? or at least seen the movie. anyhow, my mom is t3h pwn. she got me the advance readers copy of the sequel to it(she an editor). anyhoo, i read it, and its very good. and coming out in june ’08.
162- Both the book and the movie of Howl’s Moving Castle pwn. SO happy there’s a sequel.
156-Technically, it is grave-robbing, but the people who do it like to call them “discoveries”.
136-Hi. So you’re, like, a lemming.
156-There’s a fabulous book by Tom Holt about the Egyptian gods and Ramses coming back and exacting curses on the museum people. Very funny. Anyway, it is grave robbing. I agree with Andrew. Hi, Andrew.
162-Seriously? Great!
If I was an enzyme, I would be DNA helicase so I could unzip your genes.
62- Heh. My mom brings me advance readers copies of things quite a bit. She’s a librarian.
164-Hahaha, now we know how much you pay attention in Sex Ed.
I passed the test in the Spy Museum, I can still relate to you my cover.
My name is Samantha Virginia Westing
I’m thirteen, and I’m traveling to Ireland because I’m a student and I’m studying Celtic culture. I was born in Nashville, Tennessee and currently live in Oakland, California. [Note, this is not my actual location.]
*smiles innocently*
Do I pass the test, officer? *bats eyes*
what do you guys think of the writer’s strike? I support it.
167- i don’t know that much about it although it is all over my news!
TV could disappear entirely, and I’d barely notice.
169- I’m in support of the writers. I don’t really watch tv either.
yeah. i wouldn’t realy notice eather. but if the internet disapeared….
169 (Robert) – me too! I don’t think I’ve watched TV in months/
yeah, if tv disappeared, I’d only know by hearing my friends complain about it… I support the writers, though.
i havn’t been o muse in awile because, while i am a techno freak, i hav to get my ability from somewhere and my father knows how to block the internet from my laptop. grrrrrr. You want proof that the evil one is a seperate person? i am irritable today because she was texting me at midnight. TODAY’S RANDOM FACT OF THE DAY: (i didn’t feel like looking anything up so am taking a personal fact) i am short.
169/172~ Our TV lives in the barn and doesn’t get any channels. Every now and then we go watch a movie, but not too often.
174~ I’m short too. I feel very short whenever I see pictures of myself around other people.
well, i had my growth spurt early so i was taler than a lot of kids for awhile but now i am much shorter again and i just noticed. oh stuffing (i refuse to say C-R-A-P becasue im just that kind of person)
Our Television burned out the day before father’s day, and we haven’t had one since. Hopefully we will buy one soon so we can watch our christmas tapes!
RE: short people: Aw, you can’t be that short! MF, you do not seem especially short, I know many people shorter. Plus, seeing Rebecca and Robert tends to leave people like me feeling a bit short!
Red-tailed HAWK

177~ Thanks for the kind thought. So many of my friends that are younger than me are taller, it’s not FAIR!!! Ah well.
yes but i just noticed, how sad is that?
our television’s antenna got hit by lightning once and fizzled our tv so that it was still showing static when my mother unplugged it. not that I cared as I didn’t watch it.
I don’t really watch TV a lot. About once a day, and at twelve at night because Mom’s watching ER then.
I’m too short for my own good.
169/172- I would notice, suffer Simpsons withdrawal for two seconds, then go and read a book.
Basically, I would notice but not care. But as Kagy wisely said, if the internet disappeared… *shudder*
My brother, on the other hand, would throw fifteen to twenty screaming fits and then have a rare spark of ingenuity that would allow him to build an amazing machine worthy of a genius that would take him to a parallel universe with TV still in place.
Then he would get dumb again.
You know what I realized? My blogiversary was yesterday, and I completely forgot about it..
I’m going to go now, since I’ve been on for too long and most of my mental capacities are about shot.
In other words, time to do homework!!! (Kidding, my friends, kidding. Actually, I need to practise for my violin lesson tomorrow……ugh.)
“So fill to me the parting glass, goodnight and joy be with you all….”
183-*gasp* And after all that talk about it I forgot too! I’ll never forgive myself, really. So:
HAPPY BLOGDAY RAVEN OF THE HAWK!!!
Hear ye, hear ye. All who do not commit to their memory Raven of the Hawk’s BlogDay shall be eaten. By me. On Thanksgiving.
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF RANDOMNESS THAT I JUST REMEMBERED
4:30 is Emo Time. You must celebrate emoness at 4:30 or suffer being eaten. Again. By me.
This announcement was brought to you by Brooke Beardsley, who invented Emo Time.
183 (Raven) – Happy blogiverssary! How long have you been here?
Yes, if the internet died I’d basically go down with it. I can’t imagine living without MuseBlog. And, I’d probably have to learn how to talk on the telephone. *shudder*
I only watch TV when I’m sick and can’t do anything else. I’d much rather read a book, and as evening family activities and such we don’t watch TV, we usually play Scrabble or Nine Men Morris (also called The Mill–has anyone played it?) or Ping-Pong.
*squees at the quote*
I’ll be saying goodnight now…So from the land of emptiness where life is meaningless, I bid you a fond goodnight.
(I’m not a happy person, could you tell?)
Whoa. Feather blinked!
doesn’t seem to be someone sticking his tongue out like a little child. He seems to be making a sensous expression.
Anyway, l’ve noticed something disturbing.
A sensuous expression??? How so?
Yeah it snowed today! wooooo! I celebrated by doing a drive-by snowballing on my friend Alec.
190 – SNOW? Awesome!
190- awww man! BECAUSE OF MY LOCATION IN THE GREAT FROZEN NORTH I GET LITTLE SNOW… AND WHEN IT DOES SNOW IT MELTS woopsies cap locks! anyways… lucky you!
Whatev, I live in Boston, crazy weather like this is ment to happen. he he he. Anyways, I’m going to New Orleans this december.
It hasn’t snowed here since last week–we’re actually having really crazy weather! It snowed, and now it’s getting warm again!
193 (Cliff Eagle) – Yes, I love Boston weather!
I wish it would snow, but it’s just cold. Yesterday for robotics, we had to survey people in the school about whether the heating and air conditioning in our school were adequate, dependable and comfortable. (One part of the competition involves doing an energy audit of a building, in our case, our school.) Our answers for heating were sometimes, mostly, and no. Our answers for air conditioning were no, no, and NO! Our school only has air conditioning in about 5 rooms (including the robotics coach’s room), and it gets really hot in June and August.
Sorry for the double post, but the radio said it will snow tomorrow. Yay!
186~ Yes, I’ve played Nine Men’s Morris. It’s an old, old game. We have a board on the ‘tween deck of the Susan Constant, in Jamestown.
190~ LUCKY!!!! I can’t wait for snow, if we ever get any this winter. The weather has been so crazy lately, hot/cold/hot/cold…..etc. ad nausium. Tomorrow it’s supposed to get to 60. Grrr.
Random musings. (pun intended) The GAPAs have incredible memories. Every time I’ve seen them, they remember everything that’s going on here. Mention a post, and they’ll quote it, even when it was posted forever ago. Since the first Kokon. I’ve been reading, and re-reading all my posts.
Hmmm….so that’s what NaNoWriMo means…
MY ALL TIME FAVE MUSES
1) The phineas gage/castle issue
2) the skin color issue
3) the fast food one
Care to add yours??
Grrrr…. I have to go to these people’s house for thanksgiving.
They have a 3 year old wild child. They also have a 18 year old who scares me. I get to sulk in the corner
Luckily my mom has promised me a laptop case so I can play mindless games on neopets while sulking in the corner.
THANKSGIVING BREAK!!!
It snowed today!!! We only got maybe a half-inch, but it snowed! And I have a class ring now.
198~ Sure. Although I often go by articles, not really the issue itself.
Some of my favorite articles have been:
The one about the pidgeons that ride the subway;
The one about fast food flavoring;
Whole issue on fary tales (one of my favorite issues ever);
the British celebrations article by Paul.
Suddenly I have just suffered a brain lapse, and can’t remember any more. >_
199~ Ooh, sounds fun. (sarcasm)
I can’t recall how many Thanksgivings I have spent with my Dad’s family. My grandmother is always trying to make me look like an idiot compared to my cousin. Grrr.
197 (MF) – It’s one of my favorite games. Our board consists of a piece of cardboard with sharpie-lines drawn onto it (which my great-grandmother made at least 50 years ago), and 18 pieces from our Backgammon set.
It’s a fine game with a long history. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Romans played it.
One Roman game I know is the “ludus latrunculorum,” or latruncles. I found it in a book, and my friends and I used to play it in middle school. You play it on a chessboard, with a row of pawns (latruncles) in front and a row of queens (larrons) behind. You try to capture all of your opponent’s pieces, as in checkers.
203~ That’s neat. I always like objects with a history. I don’t beleive that we have a set here at our house. The one at Jamestown is wood, and the pieces have long ago sprouted legs and ran away. Ah well. I’m not very good at the game though.
Speaking of games, I like Clue and Wahoo. Does anyone else have favorite games they’d like to list? Or other random facts, like when I play Clue I’m always Prof. Plum. Always, without fail.
Latruncle is now my absolute favorite word in the universe.
Oh, yes! I remember you recommended that game on one of the Recommendations threads–I wrote it down on one of the stickies on my dashboard (of the computer). I’ve been meaning to get that book out of the library (“Games Ancient and Modern and How to Play Them).
According to Wikipedia, Nine Men Morris “emerged from the Roman Empire.”
My family’s obsessed with Batgammon too. It’s actually my aunt’s house I’m going to, and my uncle (her husband) was the one who taught me how to play Batgammon.
I’m actually okay at it, unlike most games.
(Off Topic)
I made a CD for my friend (rap, in case you were wondering) and he’s now ranting about how awesome it is. Although he got in a small bit o’ trouble because off the *ahem* language… I buy explicit and then delete them after burning them, and import them back. Voila! Dissapeared Explicit Content button!
His sister loves it too.
You know how I do. *sunglasses time!*
If I don’t get on tomorrow, this is my last post for awhile. I’ll be leaving for Williamsburg tomorrow, and volunteering at Jamestown over Thanksgiving. Oh, cruel fate, to finally have internet back and then have it snatched from my grasping fingers…….*sigh* Happy Thanksgiving to all, enjoy your pie! [yumyumyumyum, pie]
208~ Do you really need that sort of music? Swear words and explicit content in a song make me NOT want to hear it. *shrug* I dunno, it just doesn’t seem nessisary.
I’ve got to go now, see you all in several days. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving. I’ll be back on Friday.
209-It’s not the swear words I like, it’s just that I like the kind of music, and when they blank out the swear words it sounds kinda weird. When nothing’s blanked out, the song sounds… well, it sounds better. But it all depends on if you like rap in the first place. You can’t like rap and care about swearing.
Hmm…
I am bored!!!
I need a laptop case.
The Chairman is in a good mood. He has been since Sunday.
OK clearing up the rap thing. Some rap is good. The rap that isnt good is like,
1. Look at this new dance i invented.
2. dang, look at that g*** she looks FINE!
3. Look at my car/ bling.
I’m OK with anything else, even swearing because of the 1st amendment.
It’s been raining for the last day and a half. IT HAS TO SNOW NOW. NOWWWWW. But I think it’s snowing today or tomorrow.
I ♥ incense.
201- What issue is the British holiday one in?? I may have *gasp* not read it !!! 8)
ha. rap. i need not talk about it. but i don’t see the big deal with swearing. where did swear words come from anyways??? i know some were just slang but others….
215-wait, you’re ok with swearing because of the first amendment but you dislike it because of three personal beliefs? are you going by your own feelings about rap or the government’s?
</random questioning>
Meh.
Its cold and rainy, but not cold enough to snow.
I just got my ears pierced for the first time, they hurt very muchful.
220- I know! Even though you live in Oklahoma, we’re both all cold + sleety and wish it would snow!
