Heres just a few things you might like to know.
~ When you have posted what you think might be the first post on a thread DO NOT wrie FIRST POST!!! and then send it off with nothing else written. This will only infuriate everyone. It is however OK to write a nice post and then add first post? at the bottom.
~ If you are on Internet Explorer 7, your comment box will shrink if you post a long post like this one. You can remedy this by opening MuseBlog with Firefox or some other internet which I can’t remember. The other easy way is to type your long posts in Word and then paste it into your comment box.
~DO NOT USE AIM OR TEXT VOCABULARY!!!! USE GRAMMAR AND PROPER SPELLING!!!! I meen wood u like it if I psted usin slang or nt reel wordz? Save it 4 ur txting or im convos. How annoying is that??? Please refrain from that vulgar usage of wording/spelling. If you absolutely must do it, pick up your phone, open IM or do it on another blog!!!!!! However, unintentional spelling mistakes are acceptable.
~ Although we are random, a post like “I like pickles†on a thread discussing something like The Hare and The Hedgepie IS STRICTLY FROWNED UPON!!! It isn’t even very welcome on the random thread of the month.

You were a neophyte. I was a neophyte. Everyone was a neophyte. Neophytes are the future of the blog. There’s a reason we welcome them.

Well, I think hating ‘phytes of any type is normal for anyone with little patience. Plenty of people don’t like freshmen.
The only thing I don’t like is easily fixable bad spelling. how you post represents how you are as a person, or how you hope to represent yourself, and what others will think of you. Appearance isn’t everything, but it is a good deal of things. Which brings me all the way back to post 12.
I say that one should get Firefox.
And if you’re really awesome, have a mastery of html.
I tend to get slightly irritated by neophytes who are really hyper and random. Also, bad spelling and lack of capitalization or punctuation (or over-using certain types of punctuation, like exclamation points) annoys me.
Odd thoughts: I never posted on a newcomer thread as a newcomer. I actually posted on the Homework thread first.
I post on the newcomers thread once… my first post was on koko for prez…

Gender isn’t an issue on the blog for me, because it doesn’t really change how I think or interact with any of you. I am afraid that it will change how you see me though. I think that personality can reveal some of the more obvious facets of gender (I would know MissSwan was female even if her name was MSwan), but I know that I can be, and have been mistaken for a female online. I’m not offended by this, and I see no reason to be. Gender is not obvious from screen names alone, and unless disclosed, can remain secretive for any length of time.

*sigh* I can see the effects in my Biology class. Since the beginning of this semester, I had been sitting at an awesome table. My best friend, myself, and 2 guys that were extremely entertaining, and at the same time, intelligent.
Now our seat have been moved and I sit with the exact opposite. 
I now sit with the class sleeper and a totally obnoxious person who…….
1. talks in my ear when I’m taking notes and READING a VERY good book
2. Randomly sings in a high pitched, out of tune voice at the top of his lungs at the most unwanted times
3. Deliberately gets in my face (no lie, when I say in my face, I mean in my face) to get attention, even when his head can barely stretch as far as my head is pointing (slightly comical)
4. Does strange dances in his chair when he finally gets up in my face

I like Obama, becuase he’s fresh, and I don’t feel as though the entire political machine has tampered with his mind too much yet. His speeches and viewpoints feel human and sensitive. In short, he comes across as being a sincere person who is really exerting an enormous effort to do this, becuase he’s recognized the same problems that we all encounter, and he wants to solve them. He also seems tough to me. And not becuase he’s naturally agressive, but becuase he’s fighting for something he believes in vehemently as a person. That kind of strength appeals to me more than downright political aggresivity. Plus, I am a huge fan of cap and trade as a means of checking industrial pollution.
