I really like this name. I think it would work very nicely as a permanent blog name, except that I think it’s too short. It would be nice with another word tacked onto the end. Maybe something that would be alliteration, like “wish”, but that doesn’t sound quite right. Feel free to offer suggestions as you guess me.

Completely random: I came up with a fun new rule thingy for the English language. They should make compound contractions, i.e. “would not have” = “wouldn’t’ve,” or “I would not have” = “I’dn’t’ve.” Maybe it could be a rule in Ble. Does anyone else speak Ble fluently (and on purpose)? Anyway, adios.

88- I’ve got some of a language already worked out. It’s called SakÅ«ko. The grammar I’ve made so far is mostly based on Latin and Spanish; some of the pronunciation is almost Japanese; it’s inspired by Tolkien’s Black Speech. I’ve only really got the verbs and some overall grammar rules done, but I’ll get to work and then send it to the GAPAs. Maybe both “Glefm” and I can work on a language, and then the public will decide whose is better. Or maybe I’ll just procrastinate for months before deciding to hold myself to my word. I think I’ll do that.

Whimsical, are you a boy or girl? I’m guessing girl, just from the name and the fact that you’re thinking about making it your ‘real’ name, but I really don’t know.
It would make this less confusing if at the bottom of every post people made a list of the people who they weren’t. That is, people who someone else had guessed they were but they weren’t. It would make people not have to say, for example, “I’m NOT KOKONILLY! I said that three times already!!!!!” and stuff like that. If there’s someone with a really long-lasting alter ego, for instance, and they had been going for more than one thread, then everyone wouldn’t have to search through two threads to find out what people had already guessed.

Second, the three sentences you snipped were key to my argument so I will express them again in less crude terms. Basically, I don’t care about your experience here. As somebody who has been part of MB on and off for two and a half years (and NO, I do not think that makes me better that anyone else), I assure you, I don’t give a damn whether an MBer has been on the blog 3 years, three months, or 3 days. As far as the PoPoPo, I agree–they are pointless, and their citation of PoPos are PoPos in and of themselves–not to mention, it is easy enough to ignore the occasional PoPo. Additionally, yes, some oldbies have points attached to their names–so do some of the newer members, but NOBODY CARES. Very few people put any REAL stock in the points, and if you think ALL the long term MBers do it, I suggest you spend some more time looking at some of our names–for instance: myself, oxlin, Pan, THF, and all the others whose names I can’t think of (and yes, I know there are many, many more).
I may have already said this, but not all of us think the newbies are scum, in fact, I would say most of us do NOT think they are scum. We’re all Musers here!
Also, I think you took the posts on age the wrong way–neither 173 nor 189 were saying that it mattered how long they were on MB. It started because one of the alter egos was using triangle sentences, and someone was musing (no pun intended) about how long they must have been on the blog–NOT because it mattered, but because that would make a difference in who the AE might be. They were narrowing down the field. They thought the AE might be older, perhaps having been aroudn during the time of the triangle sentence thread, or that they might be new (apparently the triangles were inexperienced). They never said older was better. The writer of the triangle sentences (post 173, I believe) merely said that he/she had been on the blog longer than the previous post may think–once again, NOT saying that made him/her better, just giving us a better idea of who they might be–if they were around during the triangle sentence days, as well as the other thread mentioned, they field is narrowed down, they must be a long term MBer. They same goes for 189–he/she was merely saying that he/she had been around for a lot longer than one might guess form his/her alter ego–once again, NOT saying anything was special/elite about being older, just that she/he had been on for awhile. I think you are blowing the whole thing out of proportion. I understand that you think the ‘phytes are being slighted, and that the older members are forming a clique and excluding them, but honestly? Except for the occasional condescending comment from the very rare older member, I don’t think anyone has been excluding/maltreating the ‘phytes.
Oh, and Cliff Eagle? I have yet to see anyone (except perhaps Fridgey, but he is long gone) parading around acting like he/she is so great, or asking you (or anyone else) to brown nose them and worship at his/her feet. All I ask is that you be yourself, and treat everyone–‘phyte and oldbie–like you would want them to treat you.

Zoe is a good example of one who hated phytes, and left, but then came back. She has since renounced her ways.
I think that in fact, it does matter how long you’ve been on MB. Not that much, but it’s there. Just small things like having a feel for moderation times, or knowing the history. If you feel like you are looked down upon, don’t worry, you’re not. Phytes can have a bad rep. because they are more likely to be, well, phytish. Maturity doesn’t always correspond directly with age, knowledge usually does correspond with time spent at study.
I don’t understand how you’re the radical. It just sounds like you think very highly of some of these goals you’ve got in mind, with visions of the future. I can’t see that happening, and I bet the GAPAs wouldn’t shut down the blog just because you’ve left in a fit of ideology.
