I think that we need (yes, I saud NEED) a thread where denizens affected with manga lunacy can talk non-stop about the cartoon style. Also, possibly a thread about the little plastic tips on the end of shoelaces (they’re called aglets, people). And, of course, many Museizens would love a thread where they could either:
a) Type pieces of stories that they’ve written to be reviewed, or
b) Unleash new words that they made up into the world to cause destruction, famine and dandruff.

Might I suggest a thread about the next Pumpkin Drop? That could be a good way to get a muse convention, or at least a small meeting of musers in the area, arranged for real.
Excellent idea! Just this morning I e-mailed the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (which runs the event) and asked when it will take place this year. My guess is either October 21 or 28, but it could be as early as the 14th. Stay tuned…
who what when where and why is the pumpkin drop?
I think the pumpkin drop is a large scale egg drop contest. You have to use certin materials to keep a pumpkin from breaking when it’s thrown out the window. If you ever do one, the trick is to put your egg in a box and give it absolutely no room to bounce or hit the side.
There should be a muse rpg with different servers so there won’t be two of the same muse. It could work like Club Penguin (but look more like the Kokopelli and Company comic strips) and caracters can throw pies instead of snowballs.

Since I think the idea of virtual/pretend/not tangible-but-should-be-physical things on the computer is so cool, I’ll say that we could have our own Muse virtual pumpkin drop thing at around the time of the real pumpkin drop. We could make a ‘drawing'(using the things on our keyboards-that would be interesting to see) of our ideas, and then people could give suggestions of how to change them to make them better, or just comments about them. Then, later, everyone who wanted to could submit (in some way) one of their ‘drawings’, and then people could vote whether it would break or not. If more people voted a pumpkin thing would break, then you could pretend it broke. If more people voted it would hold, then the person who came up with it would be a ‘champion’.

I’ve seen a lot of letters with people asking for Muse to print new issues more often. I think that in the months between issues there should be articles by readers published. It could be short storise or just what ever people come up with that would be easy to throw together. (how guinea pigs became pets, why the mobius strip actually has 3 sides, reviws of favorite books, list of objects that have fallen through the bottome of lockers and in to alternate universes, etc.)
It would be a good way for readers to have something to read on the off-months and readers could share stories and ideas. (I’ve been trying to find a way to show someone my proof that it’s possible to create energy for months)

It was in the second issue (March 1997), the one with the cow on the cover. The Koko & Co. archives at Muse‘s official site go back only to 2002. I have a copy of the issue but don’t have time to scan it just now. Maybe somebody else could do it, or I’ll find time later.
