Requested by Alice, who points out that we haven’t had a thread like this for a long time. (There may be some overlap with “Rants and Complaints,” “Good News,” “Guilty Pleasures,” and “Things of Which We Are Unreasonably Fond,” however.)
Patience, Please
This site is under reconstruction and will look strange for a while. We regret the inconvenience.
Things we Like and/or Don’t Like: Hmmm. I do like Uggs, no matter what people say. As for “don’t like,” maybe being stuck behind slow walkers. Grrr.
Yayyy! Thanks!
Will post a long long long list later.
I like the Doctor Who and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
I like books, especially fantasy.
I like getting the first post, like now.
Like: listening to music, drinking tea, doing algebra, FOOD!
SFTDP
I don’t like thinking that I got the first post and then finding out that I actually didn’t. I don’t like long lines. I don’t like reviewing things we already went over last year in school.
“I love the mountains, I love the clear blue skies, I love big bridges, I love when great whites fly. I love the whole world and all its sights and sounds! (boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da) I love the oceans, I love real dirty things, I love to go fast, I love Egyptian kings. I love the whole world and all its craziness! (boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da) I love tornadoes, I love arachnids, I love hot magma, I love the giant squids. I love the whole world, it’s such a brilliant place! (boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da, boom-de-ah-da…)”
Sorry, that just jumped into my head.

The camp version is: “I love the mountains, I love the rolling hills, I love the forests, I love the daffodils, I love … the songs we sing?” I don’t remember. Anyway…I like that song.
…I love Discovery!
I like books and food.
I don’t like homework.
6 – I love momentum, I love to engineer, I love this bakery, I love the blogosphere, I love the whole world and all its messed-up folks! Boom de yada, boom de yada, boom de yada, boom de yada…
Things I like: xkcd, not having homework, thick socks, clean erasers, candy canes, reminiscing, Harry Potter, figuring out tough math problems, colors in the blue/green family, impressionist art, marching band, reading, MuseBlog, cute stuff, fire, chocolate, snow days, playing music, and letterstocrushes(dot)com.
Things I dislike: People who stop and have conversations in the middle of the hallway, being woken up by a beeping/buzzing alarm clock (mine plays music), humidity, pools, mac computers (I’m with Piggy on this one, but I like iPods), people who don’t care, ladybugs in my room, busywork, cold feet.
I was wondering if someone was going to say boom de yada.
My favorite is “I love elections, I love transistors, I love weird pillow talk, I love your sister”…
oxlin – ?
Sudo – I like the whole comic, basically. It’s one of my favorites.
Me too. I just especially love how he takes her hand and says, “I love your sister”. There are a few other panels I especially love, but unfortunately, the verses they are in also contain some material not quite appropriate for MB.
I agree with the last one.
Likes: Food, cheese, ducks, donkeys, horses, duct tape, shiny things, MuseBlog, listening to music, making music, brightly colored things, and more that I will post later.
Likes: Animals, video games (mental note-insure my DS *is totally serious*), volunteering at the animal shelter, food, MuseBlog, technology in general, staying home from school, warmness, snow, 2-hour delays (I don’t like snow days because then we have a day added on to the end of the school year), Harry Potter, RPGs.
Dislikes: Cruelty to animals, that really annoying piece of skin at the edge of your fingernail that will hurt if you pull it off, scabs, lots of blood, having cold ears, being bored, being behind a family that just has to take up the whole width of the sidewalk and is walking very slowly.
I might post more later.

I like pocket watches too. And skeleton keys. In my NaNo I had both a character whose heart was replaced by a pocket watch and a character whose heart was replaced by a tiny silver skeleton key.
I have a tiny silver skeleton key. It is connected to the clasp of my necklace. It really is tiny, about the diameter of a dime.
Cool! *wants* I collect keys. My total is 67 or so.

Dislike: Having diabetes, people who try to force their own ignorance upon others, forgetting to resubscribe to Muse
I like lots of things, caffeine being one of them.
I dislike many things as well, one of which being after typing up a 1.5 page paper, finding out the printer isn’t working and having to handwrite the entire thing in MLA format, a feat which I have not accomplished in three years. The fact that my handwriting is atrocious, I never doublespace, and my capitalisation tends to fall upon words I deem important, rather than names or beginnings of sentences, or that it is THREE IN THE MORNING doesn’t help much either.
I also dislike the fact that the grammar of that was positively horrid and i’m not going to go back and fix it because I have to keep writing more about Fredrick Douglass.
Likes: food, xkcd, KoL, MuseBlog, learning, researching completely pointless things, shouting at inanimate objects, being unique, Phineas and Ferb, Mythbusters, Good Eats, Seinfeld, chemistry, Science Olympiad, science, math, being alive, having fun, exploring places, donuts, Harry Potter books, making fun of Twilight and Eragon, being right, winning, being awesome (as I clearly am), thinly veiled sarcasm, neat handwriting, the Star Trek 2009 movie, THE OLD DISNEY, calculus, Artemis Fowl, TV, the Internet, the Beatles, Coldplay, Pip, Taylor Swift music (guilty pleasure), singing along to music, being on time, my new house, my school, my family, my friends, awesome socks, Nerf guns, mini-crossbows, swimming, ping pong, Star Wars, Beatles Rock Band, America
Dislikes: My chemistry teacher, pointless homework, people who complain a lot, people who don’t like me, annoying people, stupid people, close-minded people (okay, so there’s a bit of hypocrisy there), people with poor grammar/spelling/punctuation, allergies, scoliosis, Twilight, Eragon, being wrong, failure, illegible handwriting, THE NEW DISNEY (excluding Phineas and Ferb), people who make you believe something they do, people who shove their religion (or lack thereof) into your faces, people who say that “everyone’s Christian” (true story), Harry Potter movies, America

Are you reading my mind??? I like/dislike almost everything on your list.
Wait, are you a Giants fan/Green Day fan/from the Bay Area/multilingual pet talker too??? (feel free to affirm or deny any of those labels individually)
Don’t care about sports/sort of/no/yes.
I’m a Giants fan! *pick me, pick me*
*high-fives* Yay for baseball. I’m pretty sure there’s a Sports thread somewhere around here…
Maybe we should try and go and revive it!
But I was talking about the Giants football team though.
So maybe you should rethink that high five… I’m actually a Yankees fan.
Go Giants and Yankees! Both of my parents are from New York, so that’s the way I was (still being?) raised.
Cool! Let’s move this to the Sports thread though before we get the look from a PoPo officer…
https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1169
Besides, this might be a good chance to revive it!
/ Like talking to my can in French.
Hey! You read my mind too! The only things I disagree on are meat, socks, sports, and musicians/singers. I also don’t have shoe preferences. I’m a vegetarian who doesn’t like the feel of socks – any socks – hates sports, and is so picky about music, I only like one singer. I would do the speaking-to-cat-in-Spanish thing except I don’t have a cat and don’t speak Spanish. I did often speak Hebrew to my pet rat, though.

Dislikes: People who want to replace Punxsutawney Phil (that’s probably not his name, but you know who/what I mean, right?) with a robot because “his rights are being violated” or some BS like that.
I mean… really?
Honestly!? That’s just stupid!
I know, right? And using a robot would defeat the whole purpose, since you’d have to program it to “see” its shadow or not. Replacing him with a robot would have the same effect as ignoring him all together and just having the city council or something decide and announce it.
I don’t know if anyone said this already, but I find the title of this thread amusing, as it seems to refer to things that we both like and dislike.
In that case, I have one. Being sick. You get to stay home from school and get a nice break, but you’re sick. Yeah.
Thing I Dislike: People who lock the door of a bathroom stall and then climb/crawl out of it… and who are still pulling this immature prank in flippin’ high school.
That’s a really lame prank. Is it really supposed to deter anyone from USING A DIFFERENT BATHROOM STALL? And why would you want to crawl on the bathroom floor? That’s gross…
Not only is it gross and immature, it seems rather hard to pull off. I mean, last year, after I had neutralized such a prank and was using the stall, I decided to try crawling under the stall’s wall. At the time, I was pretty young for 9th grade and pretty small for my age. And I could barely make it. How is a normal-aged, normal-sized high-school student (even if he’s a 9th grader) able to do it when I can’t?
Maybe they climb onto the toilet and hop over the barrier?
Maybe. Still, it’s immature and stupid. And it’s particularly stupid when you do the same stall in the same bathroom twice in one day.
Does your school use locks where the bolt is directly slid from the inside or where the bolt is slid by turning a circular knob? Because with the knob ones, it’s usually pretty simple to reopen them by wedging your fingers into the slit on the outside and turning the knob.
Oh, I know. That’s what I do to solve the problem. That’s also another reason why it’s stupid to be pulling the prank in the first place – it can be undone in a matter of seconds.
I Dislike:
Homework
Being forced to write a story for homework
Not being able to think of a good idea for the story until it’s too late
Listening to other people’s stories and feeling inferior
Writing my horrible story anyway and having it be horrible and ugly and boring and stupid and….
Can you tell I’m in a bad mood?!
No. Please, tell me more.
