So, my friend who didn’t read the book liked Eragon. I must admit, the beginning was pretty okay… but they cut out too much of Eragon’s magical/fighting instruction for it to make sense. And King Gallbladder wasn’t very intimidating. Durza was much scarier, and he conjured this mad crazy evil dark magic birdy of d00m… I want that bird. Even though it did not exist in the book… Meh, Roran’s girlfriend wasn’t even mentioned. He left to escape being drafted into the king’s army…
Saphira was very cool-looking, though. And Brom was very in-character. Even though I thought he should have been older. And too much Murtagh was cut out! No! And the leader of the Varden [can’t even attempt to spell his name] was that crazy guy from LOST. He was much cooler as Varden-leader.
Angela was only in it for a few minutes, which made me really sad. As did the complete lack of Solembum [which I definitely spelled incorrectly]. *sigh*

Let’s have an Eragon thread so we can rant. I don’t want to give spoilers so i’ll just say they tried to make it Lotr and it didn’t work. I mean, the book wasn’t all that great and was totally ripped off, but they could’ve done something better with the movie. Instead they decided to do it in the true spirit of the book-a lame copy of other, better movies.

Yeah. The book needed some SERIOUS editing before it hit the public, also some people need to stop thinking about how it was written by a sixteen-year-old and see how basically BAD it was. It dragged on FOREVER! The editors were trying to keep it long, i think, so it’d look more impressive, but there was a TON of stuff they should have cut out. But this makes it seem like its all their fault. Which it isn’t. It’s PAOLINI’S BLOODY FAULT!

If the eragon books are bad, then the movie is worse. i have not yet seen a movie that is actually better than the book it came from. And in the movie, eragon has blond hair and blue eyes. in the book his eyes and hair are brown. the book may be awful, but they could at least stay true to the characters image.

So has anyone seen Eragon yet? *Dodges a few pies* I saw it Fri afternoon…Meh. That’s all I have to say. I did like how they made Saphira, though. And I like how they put the same map that’s in the book in the movie…But I can’t say that I esp liked anything else about the movie. Oh, wait…Well, Murtagh was kinda cute. ^_^ Maybe you guys have figured out now that I have this thing for bad guys.
I had the best time ever at the mall on Fri – I went w/ J and Tabby, but once we got there, we met at least ten (not kidding) other ppls we knew. Then we formed this sort of posse + totally took over Hot Topic! I swear, we filled up the whole store! After that, we went to Spencer’s, and J got this pimp tie, which he’s wearing to skool tomorrow. Then we went to FYE, and I found a single copy of MCR’s first album, which I have been searching for for months – and J was nice + bought it for me. ^_^
After we were done walking around, we went to one of those foto booths where you try to cram as many ppl as possible inside, and then take a ton of crazy pictures. We ended up getting this really neat one where half of J’s face is on one side, + half of mine is on the other, and we’re both making these really sinister faces.
After that, everybody left us. We didn’t have anything to do, so for about…Well, at least an hour, Tabby, J, and I walked through the mall, watching the stores close – J in the middle w/ his pimp tie, Tabby and I hanging off of him…LOL, I’m sure he enjoyed it!
I had to go to two choir concerts Saturday…I can’t believe we had three holiday concerts this year. Choir’s def not a slacker class anymore…But I kind of like it this way. I guess I think choir should be taken more seriously than it is by most ppl.

Murtaugh was definitely the best ♥ except that his was the only character i kind of semi liked in the books and they didn’t elaborate on it. Actually, they did that with most of the characters. I mean, not only was the book terrible, but then they had to take all the most terrible parts of it for the movie instead of the few semi-interesting and only mildly ripped off parts. Really, it was all boring because i’d seen it all before.

I ordered my CafePress Muse-Stuff a few weeks (or years, it seems) ago, but it hasn’t come yet. Hmm. However, I did pick the free shipping, which may have something to do with it. Hmm. Oh well. Waiting is.
Today I didn’t do too much. I went to the library, I watched my father wash his vehicle, I read a couple Gerald Durrell books over again on a whim, and then someone told me that there were Jeeves and Wooster DVD box sets at Costco Wholesale, so I trotted over there, but there were none. Then we (my father and I) took home a Take&Bake pizza but the oven is so badly calibrated that the top was perfect and the bottom charred black. So we had pasta, and then I watched The Rutles 2: Can’t Buy Me Lunch which was funny and had cameos of Jewel, David Bowie, Steve Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Mick Jagger, and Grahame Nash. Kind of inappropriate, though. I also played some piano and am still working on @$%!*# Schumann’s “Soldier’s March” which still sounds more like a bunch of Muscovy ducks farting through some of Paul Baker’s medieval instruments of tortu–I mean, musical instruments. God.
Many people were sick this week at my school. The entire boys’ basketball team is down with flu (one of the starters fell on the floor and then vomited on Thursday; and another guy managed to puke all over the drinking fountain later that day) and a person in my class got a rather major incision on his right calf and had to be wheeled out to receive five stitches. It would have been a field day for James Herriot.

Oh, Kiki, I’m so sorry. I know that doesn’t really help, because I didn’t know your grandpa, and I hated it when people did that when my grandpa died. But I am truly sorry. If you just need someone to vent or cry to, I’m sure your family will be there for you, and the whole blog is behind you. Kiki- yes, I must add something, I just wanted to get some comfort out there. I don’t really know what it’s like to lose someone that close to you. I’ve seen others lose people close to them and almost lost someone but I don’t know what it’s like. If you need anything, I’m here for you. *hugs*

103- Kiki, it’s great that you feel you have us, and you do. My grandfather whom I was very close to passed away last summer. I found out on the day I was supposed to be hosting the monthly CS club (a club of all my friends from elmentary school whom I only see once a month) It really helped just to have people around. It will be okay. It will never be the same, but you will adjust. I still think of my grandfather almost every day, but I just try to do my best and know he’d be proud no matter what.

I’m reading Blindsight by Peter Watts. Peter Watts and Alastair Reynolds are probably two of the greatest hard science fiction writers alive. No joke. Blindsight is amazing. It’s better than the Behemoth trilogy. It’s a more than a little bit too complicated to explain, but it involves a team of weirdos sent by the government to deal with aliens. The main character is a man who had half of his brain removed as a boy to cure viral epilepsy and is now a Synthesist, a topologist who lives in his own Chinese room. Amazing.
The song I’m listening to right now is “Centerfold” by the J. Geils band. The song before that was “Let’s Go To Bed” by the Cure and after is “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” by Devo.
Today I bought a Pulmonary Heart Disease bracelet. It’s rubber and purple and says ‘PHenomenal Hope’ on it. I also worked a lot, and I did my Our Town presentation and the Spanish Oral Examen is tomorrow. School lets out for Winter Break on Thursday at 1:30. Not much to do Thursday at all. I stink at basketball, and I read too much, and I feel fine but my eating habits are terrible. I have not seen the movie ‘Eragon’ but I plan to.

117: Yays! Good for SM!
So…I kissed J yesterday. But I don’t even think it’s worth bragging about, LOL. See, I had been planning it…Someone had a ton of Hershey kisses at the choir concert on Saturday, and I stole a handful – This crazy, spur-of-the-moment plan had popped into my head.
He came over after skool Monday. After we got to my house, we went upstairs to chill. Making sure he didn’t see it, I took a Hershey kiss, + put it in my pocket. I waited until there was a halt in the conversation, and then suddenly felt my pocket, as if I had just remembered what was inside of it. Then…Haha, this is so typical of me…I was just like “Hey, ya wanna kiss?” He said something like “…Okay!I’mnotverygoodblahdeblahdeblah…” I pulled the kiss out of my pocket and gave it to him. XD Haha, the expression on his face…He was just like “Oh…alright.” Then I forced a laugh (I was pretty hyper, but still a bit nervous), and was like “Well, I can give you the other type of kiss if you want!” So I gave him sort of a cheek-peck type thingie (LOL, I can literally remember what the .231 sec of my face touching his felt like…I am so shameless…). He said something like “Oh, yeah, was that it?” By that, I’m assuming that he wouldn’t have minded if it had lasted longer that .231 sec…Yet, he did not immediately kiss me back. But…He can be extremely, extremely shy sometimes (I think he only talks to maybe four people, including me, at skool), and I know that he’s not trying to be mean or anything.
So, I think I’m going to remind him tomorrow that he now owes me a kiss, and that he should give it to me before he leaves for break on Thursday…I wonder what will happen.

Not too much happened today. Tomorrow is our last day. Assembly on Leonardo da Vinci (snore), class until one, advisory party one to one thirty. And I won at Rock ‘n Roll Jeopardy. Again. I won by ten points.

My grandpa died when I was one so I didn’t really know him…
Haven’t been on for awhile due to horrid bad winds on the coast. Knocked out the power for five days…
freeezing. Not to mention the constant fear of Carbon Monoxide (I wasn’t sure how it was caused because I am not that smart). Candles have mostly gone, but thank goodness, we got our power back yesterday.
We have currently missed five days of school(two for snow days, three for power outage) and now it is piled onto the summer. sigh.
-Well, I drew HPB’s on my binder.
-Had a “Wave” demonstration during gym. Anyone ever heard of it? It’s a snowboard/wakeboard/skateboard I think. it is pretty nifty.
-Oh, and our class might be going to Greece for an Educational trip during the summer :0
It’s so awesome, and we get to go on a pretty good deal. We get a bilingual tour guide, hotel and cruises around to Italy and Rome I think. This is the first time this school’s ever done it I believe…so exciting!

Well, I won’t be seeing J againe until skool resumes – He’s leaving for all of break tomorrow morning (Trusting my luck, the bus will probably go past his house right as he’s pulling out of the driveway T_T). Yeah, it will feel kind of weird tomorrow, just hanging out w/ my friends (For the last two weeks, I’ve beene hanging out w/ J + a bunch of other random guys during lunch…I’m feeling like a really bad friend right now :o).
I mentioned that he owed me a kiss today, but we were never at the right place at the right time…and then there’s the fact that he’s still somewhat shy/not confident around me. *Sighs* I hope he is able to get over it…I totally understand what it’s like to be insecure, but it just surprises me how insecure J is. He did give me a like…fifteen minute massage today, though ;D. I just walked up to him + started giving him a massage (Hey, everyone likes a massage once in awhile, LOL). When I was finished, he decided to give me one. Ha, he went about it as if I were made of glass or something (Me: “You know, you can rub a lot harder if you want.” J: “I don’t want to hurt your fragile little body.” Me: “Aww, don’t make me laugh!”).
Sighs. But he wants to go see Black Christmas after break, + I heard that it’s supposed to be a good movie…

Four days until the wondeful birthday of Sir Isaac. I taped a picture of him to my purse today [didn’t fit properly on my shirt, and with our dress code…] and two kids in my chem class sucessfully id’ed him. One asked if I were having a passionate love affair with his corpse, though. But he’s way weird, so I went along with it. Mucho amusing. And my teacher noticed, too and said it was “classy.” Fun fun fun. I need a life.

Remember when Half-Blood Prince came out? Everyone was like, ‘Who is the prince?’ And then Dogface Spratsky was like, ‘Maybe it’s Harry Potter.’ Caz Kounkerwicz immediately said, ‘But that would be like calling the book Harry Potter and Harry Potter’s Other Name. To be precise, it would be.’ Dogface went back with, ‘Ever heard of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?’ It was pretty funny. It was also 2:30 am, stuck in a tree with a lot of slavering dachshunds underneath, waiting to get the three of us. Finally Blabberie Stooks stole the Jeep to get us, but he was afraid of hitting them, so we got in and I spent the worst half hour of my life squashed in the back listening to them jump at the sides. Sorry. Just remembering all those memories…
It was my last day at school today. I’m all right. I think I ate too much, however. I’m a little sick of chocolate. It’s really not that great. Not that I munch on carob chips or whatever, that’s still.

Queenie (186), I really like the film Harvey too. I love that it leaves me thinking that things I know for sure could never happen maybe really could after all.
In a different vein, I think it’s interesting how positively Elwood P. Dowd (the Jimmy Stewart character) is portrayed despite his apparent drinking problem. I think it’s a sign of how attitudes toward alcohol have changed between 1950 and nowadays. None of the characters seems overly concerned about how much he drinks. I think that would be different if the movie were remade today. Hey is there a remake?

I saw most of Annie Hall last night. Hilarious. Americanly hilarious, but still very good. Some of the jokes are a little weird, but I liked it. A lot. The A.H. look is kind of outdated, but the movie is also a Woody Allen classic, along with Small Time Crooks. He was in a James Bond movie, did you know that? The first Casino Royale, the 1969 one with Ursula Undress-I mean Andress of course-and Peter Sellers, among other people.

Which means I am completely unprepared for the Math A exam. I learn stuff for the test/quiz and then I forget it. Very efficient way of doing things.

My friend Emily and I went to Mexico today to do some Christmas shopping. It’s always a tad stressful going to a market in Mexico, because you have to bargain for everything. I’m always torn between wanting to get something for cheap and wanting the poor vendors to make a decent profit. Which shows that I’m kind of a sucker, I know.
But I did end up getting some nice things for probably a quarter of what they would have cost up here. Plus I ate some excccceeeellentt burritos. *drool* It’s amazing, the difference between real Mexican food and American Mexican.
Oh oh! And I got to try out my newly aquired spanish 3 skills! I succesfully asked for and obtained directions to the nearest bank without a word of English being used.

The party is ended when the head of the house is wrestled to the ground and pinned. It’s not a real holiday, so i don’t know why anyone would celebrate it, unless they’re manic fans of Seinfeld.
We have a holiday party on Festivus, although we call it Christmas Eve Eve. Usually the people at our party know its festivus though. i heard them talking about it.

Sort of random, but then again, this is the random thread. Has anyone heard of a band called the LeeVees? My mom and I were listening to something about them on NPR. It’s kind of late now that hannuka is over, but they wrote some really cool hannukah songs that are sooooo funny. In particular, a song called Goyim Friends, is hilarious. All lyrics are G. You Tube them or look at their website (I don’t know the URL, you can probably google them) Sorry, random, but that’s just what came to mind.

(214) Yeah, and all the people who live in places in the US where it doesn’t snow. But actually, Australian summer Christmas is quite nice. I experienced it last year. We had a picnic in my Aunt’s backyard with oysters, cold turkey and cold soup. But another wierd thing- a lot of Australians did get a white Christmas this year. In snowed all over Victoria. Which was quite a blessing, coz there some terrible bush fires going on.
Uh. I stabbed my hand while shucking oysters and it is now very sore. I hope it doesn’t impair my present opening abilities.

Guess what! I had another random dream with Ebeth in it! I think there was this piece of paper I had to give to her (it was indestructable paper) before she died (her date of death was on there too, but It was in some weird system of dating because I remember trying to figure out how old she was going to be but I couldn’t, it was weird) but first I had to do something else… gosh, I don’t remember at all. This will be the second dream with Ebethy, not including the one about the MB convention where I couldn’t find anybody, but Ebeth wasn’t actually in there. Well, I guess she was, but I didn’t actually see her… but I couldn’t figure out who anybody was anyway, so that’s not very acurate.
Does anyone else still get Santa Claus? Everyone at our house gets Santa Claus gifts, even my parents.
Last night was awesome! We all went to church and some of my friends and I did a lytirgical dance in the Christmas candle light service! We did really good!

How is everyone’s Christmas going?
I just finished opening presents, and now I’m on the comp (obviously), listening to Mannheim Steamroller’s Christmas albums. It’s like techno/new age meets Christmas carols.
My favourite part of the holidays is decorating the tree…Although this year, we didn’t get a chance to decorate it until yesterday afternoon. Our tree never has a theme to it – Just a ton of random ornaments that have been accumulating in our house over the years. I love to find the ones that my LB and I made in grade skool…Hey, I’m sentimental like that!
Zomygawd, my mom gave me BLACK PEARLS! I…I don’t even wear jewelery! I feel inc guilty. She gave me a necklace, a bracelet, and earrings. They are absolutely gorgeous – They almost look like little pieces of hemitite – my favourite stone.
Other than that, I got yet another watch, this really froody floor lamp that looks like a bunch of flowers, these really purty mosaic candle holders, a Power Block for my Nano, some cute pajamas w/ snowflakes, and a ton of other random stuff (Lots of fancy choklit – I can tell that my mother is in love w/ the international food aisle at Meijer, LOL).

Food. Everyone gets me choklit. No complaints here.
And I’ve been playing Civilization IV all day. Okay, since I got home from school on Friday. I’m very addicted.
So, did anyone else watch NORAD track Santa? It’s funny every year.
On Saturday, I made one of my friends come over to watch MP& The Holy Grail, because she had never seen it. And then the Spanish Inquisition episode, too. She was in shock afterwards. ‘t was funny. I think I scared her a bit with it. But she did laugh every time they “rode horses.”
What else? Hmm…
On Thurs. [last day of school before break] I only went to two classes–math, because I had a test [BOMBED!] and chem because it’s fun. Mostly.
So. Chem. I think I babbled about it and the Sir Isaac picture in an earlier post… We didn’t actually do much. Just ran around and talked to people when we should have been doing our lab reports. We did do our graphs, though And I found that the mother of kid-with-whom-I’m-going-to-el-dance-o [who will be referred to as K, because it’s the first letter of that whole hyphenated thing] is a camera fiend. Zark. Yeah. We were discussing that. Haha, then he called my house for directions and was on the phone with my mumsy for literally twenty minutes. Weird. Looks like I’ll be creeping him out…. gosh, I’m mean. Anyway.
Eleven until two thirty-five on Thurs. was cool, though.
I hung in Gifted for the entire time and wasted time. ‘t was cool. We played card games. And I learned some game called “Drug Dealer” and I sucked. We were pretty much high on winter break spirits. And this one kid won, like, every game, from Bullshit to Spit to Kemps [sp?]. Actually, my partner and I won Kemps the same amount of times as he and his partner. My sister and her friend won once, I think… Yeah, she was there. And kept trying to see everyone’s card during Drug Dealer. Typical of her. I hate that game, though. It’s all one big staring contest, because the dealer is supposed to wink. Essentially. Staring while making a really straight face. I was making a really weird face. My amused-but-really-clueless expression. My Kemps partner or K probably had the straightest faces. And this one annoying guy from my gov’t class pwned at winking inconspicuously. Our teachers/supervisors thought we were funny playing that game. One joined in for a round or two. Funfunfun.
And now I’m at home and I’ve been eating all day. Yay, food!

I gave her the godivas. also some good books and some fuzzy gloves and a new brush. She gave me some froodylicious books too. We both got Frangos in our stockings from “santa.” i got some clothes and money and barnes+nobles giftcards and itunes giftcards and…. oh yes, and an IPOD!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!! One of the froody new shuffles that are tiny. I’m listening to it now. In fact, i’ve been listening to it all day. and the little flashy light is still green. Man, how long can this thing go before running out of juice?

I got one of those magic scarf things. We call it a Thneed. Which everyone everyone everyone needs. (quote from Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax”) It’s such the coolest thing. It’s purple, and I can wear it however I want. Well, not however I want. There are some things it would have difficulty being. But not many! ‘Tis fun.
Oh, man, I had the weirdest dream last night. My teacher, who will be given a new name in the dream description, (Ms. Pebble) was the main character. When I flew in a room, she didn’t even gasp or anything! Everyone else did. And I’m not putting all of this on the dream thread because no one goes onto that thread. I forget the rest of it, though. Well, not all of it. I had to make a “Nest, and not just any nest! A biting nest!” It was a riddle that I supposedly knew. I, him herself, did not, but that’s the magic of dreams. I came up with the answer, (it turns out that the answer was a snake. I won, but the prize was to be this mean but rich person’s daughter, and I didn’t want to do that, so I flew away. Many things were involved in this dream. There was one time when I had to ask my cousin what was going to be on my math test. It was graphs. “All you have to do is…” but that’s all I heard, because I was falling down the cliff. And if any of you fly in your dreams, you know that you need a decent head start, so I couldn’t fly away. So I went to the school nurse to bring me back to life, even though I was alive, but my body wasn’t. I kind of watch myself at the sidelines in most of my dreams. And then the nurse said I had hypothermia. It was odd.

I made a buche de Noel. I’m not very good at it, but I tried, and I borrowed some plastic axes and trees to stick on it. It was tasty, but the ganache was more than a little rich.
I didn’t get anything. But I ordered some Doc Martens. They were two left boots, a size 6 and a size 7. I am disappointed, but I can fix it, so that’s all right.

I got a brand new shiny eisel!! (actually, it’s matte black but whatever). It’s a nice sturdy, light aluminum one that folds up well and doesn’t rock. I love it. I also got The Omnivore’s Dilemma, the new Decemberists album, and Duke Ellington’s Greatest Hits.
Oh yeah, and a shirt with a picture of a man looking at a sign on a wall that says “If you see anything mysterious or unusual, enjoy it while you can.”
It was excellent fun.

242- I have tons of dreams of flying. Actually, no matter what my dream is about, I can always fly. And I’m always convinced that I can fly, and it’s so sad when I wake up, I can’t fly. I combine the sensations of floating in water and being on the traveling rings in gym to make flying. I think.

I dreamed that my school had brand new, handy dandy notebo- er broomsticks! And I believe I got a chance to fly on one. But then I woke up and forgot it. And remembered it again. I hve flown in my dreams before and let me tell you, it is just like swimming except without water.
Ditto on that praise! I finished writing a rough draft of my letter to the principal about a recycling program, and your article with the golden toad was very helpful. I quoted the El Ninos paragraph but the stupid spellcheck kept underlining “Ninos” and replacing it with “nines”.

i had a dream last night, that i was trying to put this golf ball on top of the christmas tree, but it kept jumping off and flying around the room and hitting people on their heads. then i threw a ham at it, and it died. but then it turned into this little shriveled melon thing, so i ate it. then I died. And i went to the afterworld, and i met the golf ball there, and it was like, well know you know how it feels to be dead! not so nice is it? then i jumped down a conviently placed chimney and escaped from it. then i woke up. Strange.

I had the weirdest dream this morning (+ then I woke up at one-thirty this afternoon – got over twelve hrs of sleep). I had to move to this creepy city in the middle of nowhere, and I lived in this huge apartment building. I lived on the 139th (top) floor, and – get this – my friend lived on the -264th floor! See, there were tons of ppl moving to this city, but for some reason, ppl didn’t want to build the apartments upward, so they were building them downward! I was really, really tired, too – I’ve never actually felt tired in a dream before.
I went through a couple of days in the dream. I would wake up, go to skool for about half the day, then go to work for a really long time, then go back to my apartment and collapse on my bed. But then I would immediately have to get up + go back to skool.
Well, I hope everyone had/is having (?) a Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, a Kwazy Kwanzaa…etc!

(257 Queenie) You know, I think you’re the only atheist I of know of who doesn’t observe a religious winter holiday. It’s strange hat so many atheists observe religious holidays, I guess. My Christmases are funny because my whole family, which is atheist, gets together to eat dinner with our close friends, who are Jewish. Plus this year we had a Buddhist, too. But no Christians. Yeah. Makes a lot of since.

Speaking about books, I just finished reading the weirdest one! I really love books but I’d never read a romance novel before so I tried it. It was aweful! Here’s the plot……………
Girl: I have to go to America to marry this guy I don’t even know.
Captain: Eek! Pirates!
Girl: Fight! Fight! I know how to sword fight! Kill!
Pirate Captain: You can’t kill me! Haha! You are now my prisoner!
Girl: Grrrr! I don’t like you! Wait! Eeek! I’m scared of the dark!
Pirate Captain: I’ll save you!
Girl: Thanks!
Pirate Captain: Do like me now?
Girl: Yes!

253+255 – I almost always fly in my dreams. It’s really up to me whether or not I fly. I control what I do, for the most part. My first flying endeavor that I remember was when I was in 2nd grade. I was Harry Potter. I flew up a huge hollow column and then smacked Malfoy in the face. It was brief, but nonetheless satisfying. Often I’m a character that looks similar to Kim Possible, and it’s a nightmare that I have gotten used to. I’m always chased by bad guys, and flying at full speed is difficult. I probably tense up like crazy when I have a dream in which I’m chased. Oh, well, I could talk about my dreams for hours, but I won’t. I’ll go to the dreams thread for that. *goes to dreams thread and decides that dreams threads don’t seem to work very well so just says nothing more about dreams for the time being*
260 – I have never had numbers in my dreams, at least so I can remember. And my dreams are more abstract. For the most part, I can control what I do, but not where I am. I feel tired a lot in my dreams, though. One dream, I was being chased by the evil Curious George, and at that time, I could make myself wake up, or at least change dreams. It was helpful to be able to get out of bad nightmares. I miss that feature. Anyway, it was just about the end of that point of time in my dreamness, so when I tried to wake up, I saw my stairs. It was comfortable and familiar enough for me, so I relaxed. Suddenly, CG and his troops showed up! I was so scared. I have a couple of other dreams where I thought I woke up, but I’ll just say that one.

255.) I actually had a really weird dream last night that involved flying. I dreamed that I had just taken a shower and was wearing two towels (I always wear two towels, one around my waist, one around my top half…. I’m too tall for just one towel) when I grabbed a pillow for some reason and started swimming the butterfly (the stroke) in the air, and floated around. I flew outside, (remember, all I had on was two towels….. And a couch pillow…..) and tried to find some clothes. Flying around, I ended up by this gigantic fancy skyscraper hotel where Artemis Fowl was opening up a window. (it was really big and talll….) I suddenly had clothes on (weird….) and I waved. He saw me and almost fell over. Then this kid named Steven who is at my school (and VERY annoying, but his brother is even more so…) saw me and said, “I want to fly!” He was in the same hotel as Artemis. He jumped out of the window and fell on the ground several stories below and walked back inside. Then I turned the towels into magic carpets (the towels were now on my back) so that I wouldn’t have to fly on a pillow. Then Artemis jumped onto one of the towels, and we flew off to some gigantic house that we were suddenly in, and there was a girl pouring strawberry jam on a quilt. She looked at us and said, in a weird, hyper, evilish voice, “Hehehehe, this is my midnight snack. I love blanket. It will be so yummy!†We took the blanket with us and came to a place with a butler (old, decrepit, and skinny, the epitome of butler-hood) who was playing the piano. We threw the blanket on him, and he said, “Oh, no. I have a bloody nose. Goodbye.†And he left. I started playing the piano, when the butler came back in, swallowing a corner of blanket. His mouth was all jammy and he said, “That was an excellent blanket. Please leave.†And then my dream switched to a weird cross between Avatar, my school, some people who lived underwater for two years (Steve Irwin and his family, to be precise. And Woody. From Toy Story.) and a baby that slept in a cello. Kind of strange.

I hardly ever remember my dreams. I wonder why that is. I remembered my dreams sometimes when I was younger, but now I hardly ever remember my dreams.
I found this on a website. I’m not sure it it’s true or not, but here it is:
f you’re not remembering your dreams, its actually a good thing. Everyone dreams each night (granted you can cycle through the sleep stages) and remembering a dream means you were awakened or prematurely forced out of a sleep stage. This causes you to gain consciousness while still thinking about the dream you were having. Its like how most people remember nightmares, because a nightmare is usually terrifying and causes you to wake up very quickly.
Not remembering dreams means that you are getting a good night’s sleep each night, at least enough so that your body can naturally sleep without being disturbed and awakened. I know it seems boring to not remember dreams, but in the end it just signifies that your body is getting good sleep.

Oh, sorry about double post but speaking of Youtube, has anyone heard of the Japanese drama “1 litre of tears”? It’s based off a true story and it’s about a girl who at age 16 (about) gets a brain disease. Her cranium is starting to deteriorate and slowly she begins to lose the ability to talk, walk or even write. It’s extremely sad.

Weird. I was thinking about the dream I had this morning, the first dream I can actually remember in a while, and then I came here and everyone was talking about dreams.
I figure I’ll share mine, though it’s not nearly as interesting as some of the other dreams on here. Here goes:
I was in this room with about 4 other kids, each of us sitting in these sort of jepoardy-cubicle things, only they had roofs and were spread out. One of them was a really annoying very-mathy(I don’t know, thats just how I thought of him at the time) looking boy, another a tall girl with blond hair pulled up in a ponytail with a very haughty look. The whole room lit up like on that show, weakest link?, and an announcer man came out. He would say a word, and we’d have to buzz in with the correct synonyn and spell it out. Apperently, the tall blond girl was the reigning champ. We stopped for a commercial or something, and she came over and started bragging, while eating some complimentary cookies. Then we played this game she designed where there was a story on a large piece of posterboard with some blanks, like in mad libs, only instead of verb, noun, adj., etc., under the blanks, there were words. We had to guess the synonym like before. A huge crowd of people gathered around. Nobody was able to guess the word. I had a feeling that the girl had heard the right guess but wasn’t telling anyone (if no one guessed, she won). Then my dream went into this weird tangent involving the girls uncle on the commitee that approved the board-game thing we were playing. Then we(all the contestants) were in this little white room with crappy tables and some refreshments, and my nose started to glow, and then the girls nose started to glow too. She started to ask me questions about a part time job I had had, over the summer at the summer camp I actually worked at in real life. Apparently, the nose glowing meant I was lying about something. I ended up trying to reassure the girl I wasn’t lying. Then I woke up and didn’t have a chance to ask the girl what she was lying about.

Okay, strange dream I had last night – Me and alot of the kids from my neighborhood were going on a scavenger hunt in this huge mansion which was floating above an island. So, everyone starts looking for stuff, and then me and two of my freinds end up in this big room with a well in the middle of it. Then an invisible octopus comes out and grabs my two freinds and takes them into the well. I turn into a dolphin (in dreams I’m able to turn into different animals, which I think is preyyt cool) and rescue them. We are now far away from the mansion and I tow my freinds back to the beach. I then turn into a guinea pig (dunno why) and get shot by some guy wearing my uncle’s fishing outfit. Pretty random dream, but I was then woken up by my alarm clock.

Also, may I ask why our comments need to be moderated? Is there some kind of law that if a magazine geared toward children has any sort of website, official or otherwise, the previously mentioned children should not be allowed to converse freely? And therefore, if I or any other reader were to create a place where we could, I would be in violation of the afformentioned law?
I’m just curious. This site seems really great, but obviously the GAPAs can’t be on all the time, which probably hinders conversation. Not that I would know, as a newbie and all.

i had a weird dream last night. it was mostly weird because it was a lot more coherent than my dreams usually are. my friend and i were doing this weird scavenger hunt where we had to go and buy all this different stuff. so we were running around madly on a place called Comet Street looking for stuff. yeah. that had absolutely no point.

So, my friend who didn’t read the book liked Eragon. I must admit, the beginning was pretty okay… but they cut out too much of Eragon’s magical/fighting instruction for it to make sense. And King Gallbladder wasn’t very intimidating. Durza was much scarier, and he conjured this mad crazy evil dark magic birdy of d00m… I want that bird. Even though it did not exist in the book… Meh, Roran’s girlfriend wasn’t even mentioned. He left to escape being drafted into the king’s army…
Saphira was very cool-looking, though. And Brom was very in-character. Even though I thought he should have been older. And too much Murtagh was cut out! No! And the leader of the Varden [can’t even attempt to spell his name] was that crazy guy from LOST. He was much cooler as Varden-leader.
Angela was only in it for a few minutes, which made me really sad. As did the complete lack of Solembum [which I definitely spelled incorrectly]. *sigh*

Let’s have an Eragon thread so we can rant. I don’t want to give spoilers so i’ll just say they tried to make it Lotr and it didn’t work. I mean, the book wasn’t all that great and was totally ripped off, but they could’ve done something better with the movie. Instead they decided to do it in the true spirit of the book-a lame copy of other, better movies.
Yeah. The book needed some SERIOUS editing before it hit the public, also some people need to stop thinking about how it was written by a sixteen-year-old and see how basically BAD it was. It dragged on FOREVER! The editors were trying to keep it long, i think, so it’d look more impressive, but there was a TON of stuff they should have cut out. If the eragon books are bad, then the movie is worse. i have not yet seen a movie that is actually better than the book it came from. And in the movie, eragon has blond hair and blue eyes. in the book his eyes and hair are brown. the book may be awful, but they could at least stay true to the characters image.

So has anyone seen Eragon yet? *Dodges a few pies* I saw it Fri afternoon…Meh. That’s all I have to say. I did like how they made Saphira, though. And I like how they put the same map that’s in the book in the movie…But I can’t say that I esp liked anything else about the movie. Oh, wait…Well, Murtagh was kinda cute. ^_^ Maybe you guys have figured out now that I have this thing for bad guys.
I had the best time ever at the mall on Fri – I went w/ J and Tabby, but once we got there, we met at least ten (not kidding) other ppls we knew. Then we formed this sort of posse + totally took over Hot Topic! I swear, we filled up the whole store! After that, we went to Spencer’s, and J got this pimp tie, which he’s wearing to skool tomorrow. Then we went to FYE, and I found a single copy of MCR’s first album, which I have been searching for for months – and J was nice + bought it for me. ^_^
After we were done walking around, we went to one of those foto booths where you try to cram as many ppl as possible inside, and then take a ton of crazy pictures. We ended up getting this really neat one where half of J’s face is on one side, + half of mine is on the other, and we’re both making these really sinister faces.
After that, everybody left us. We didn’t have anything to do, so for about…Well, at least an hour, Tabby, J, and I walked through the mall, watching the stores close – J in the middle w/ his pimp tie, Tabby and I hanging off of him…LOL, I’m sure he enjoyed it!
I had to go to two choir concerts Saturday…I can’t believe we had three holiday concerts this year. Choir’s def not a slacker class anymore…But I kind of like it this way. I guess I think choir should be taken more seriously than it is by most ppl.
i saw it saturday. Grrr. but murtagh was cute, despite the pale skin and greasy hair. they didn’t have him enough, though. there were some totally important parts they missed. battles and stuff.
Murtaugh was definitely the best ♥ except that his was the only character i kind of semi liked in the books and they didn’t elaborate on it. Actually, they did that with most of the characters. I mean, not only was the book terrible, but then they had to take all the most terrible parts of it for the movie instead of the few semi-interesting and only mildly ripped off parts. Really, it was all boring because i’d seen it all before.

Today I didn’t do too much. I went to the library, I watched my father wash his vehicle, I read a couple Gerald Durrell books over again on a whim, and then someone told me that there were Jeeves and Wooster DVD box sets at Costco Wholesale, so I trotted over there, but there were none. Then we (my father and I) took home a Take&Bake pizza but the oven is so badly calibrated that the top was perfect and the bottom charred black. So we had pasta, and then I watched The Rutles 2: Can’t Buy Me Lunch which was funny and had cameos of Jewel, David Bowie, Steve Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Mick Jagger, and Grahame Nash. Kind of inappropriate, though. I also played some piano and am still working on @$%!*# Schumann’s “Soldier’s March” which still sounds more like a bunch of Muscovy ducks farting through some of Paul Baker’s medieval instruments of tortu–I mean, musical instruments. God.
Many people were sick this week at my school. The entire boys’ basketball team is down with flu (one of the starters fell on the floor and then vomited on Thursday; and another guy managed to puke all over the drinking fountain later that day) and a person in my class got a rather major incision on his right calf and had to be wheeled out to receive five stitches. It would have been a field day for James Herriot.

103- Kiki, it’s great that you feel you have us, and you do. My grandfather whom I was very close to passed away last summer. I found out on the day I was supposed to be hosting the monthly CS club (a club of all my friends from elmentary school whom I only see once a month) It really helped just to have people around. It will be okay. It will never be the same, but you will adjust. I still think of my grandfather almost every day, but I just try to do my best and know he’d be proud no matter what.

I’m reading Blindsight by Peter Watts. Peter Watts and Alastair Reynolds are probably two of the greatest hard science fiction writers alive. No joke. Blindsight is amazing. It’s better than the Behemoth trilogy. It’s a more than a little bit too complicated to explain, but it involves a team of weirdos sent by the government to deal with aliens. The main character is a man who had half of his brain removed as a boy to cure viral epilepsy and is now a Synthesist, a topologist who lives in his own Chinese room. Amazing.
The song I’m listening to right now is “Centerfold” by the J. Geils band. The song before that was “Let’s Go To Bed” by the Cure and after is “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” by Devo.
Today I bought a Pulmonary Heart Disease bracelet. It’s rubber and purple and says ‘PHenomenal Hope’ on it. I also worked a lot, and I did my Our Town presentation and the Spanish Oral Examen is tomorrow. School lets out for Winter Break on Thursday at 1:30. Not much to do Thursday at all. I stink at basketball, and I read too much, and I feel fine but my eating habits are terrible. I have not seen the movie ‘Eragon’ but I plan to.

So…I kissed J yesterday. But I don’t even think it’s worth bragging about, LOL. See, I had been planning it…Someone had a ton of Hershey kisses at the choir concert on Saturday, and I stole a handful – This crazy, spur-of-the-moment plan had popped into my head.
He came over after skool Monday. After we got to my house, we went upstairs to chill. Making sure he didn’t see it, I took a Hershey kiss, + put it in my pocket. I waited until there was a halt in the conversation, and then suddenly felt my pocket, as if I had just remembered what was inside of it. Then…Haha, this is so typical of me…I was just like “Hey, ya wanna kiss?” He said something like “…Okay!I’mnotverygoodblahdeblahdeblah…” I pulled the kiss out of my pocket and gave it to him. XD Haha, the expression on his face…He was just like “Oh…alright.” Then I forced a laugh (I was pretty hyper, but still a bit nervous), and was like “Well, I can give you the other type of kiss if you want!” So I gave him sort of a cheek-peck type thingie (LOL, I can literally remember what the .231 sec of my face touching his felt like…I am so shameless…). He said something like “Oh, yeah, was that it?”
By that, I’m assuming that he wouldn’t have minded if it had lasted longer that .231 sec…Yet, he did not immediately kiss me back. But…He can be extremely, extremely shy sometimes (I think he only talks to maybe four people, including me, at skool), and I know that he’s not trying to be mean or anything.
So, I think I’m going to remind him tomorrow that he now owes me a kiss, and that he should give it to me before he leaves for break on Thursday…I wonder what will happen.
123-My mom says maybe…I don’t know exactly where you’re going to be, but we’ll find out once my mom emails your mom, which she says she’ll do in the morning…but what about Twelve Oaks Mall? Not too much happened today. I threatened to break Bo’s nose, he thought it was empty, I broke the thing on the water fountain (but no one knew it was me except for him, and he wasn’t telling, I can tell you that), and–well, that was it. Tomorrow is our last day. Assembly on Leonardo da Vinci (snore), class until one, advisory party one to one thirty. And I won at Rock ‘n Roll Jeopardy. Again.

Haven’t been on for awhile due to horrid bad winds on the coast. Knocked out the power for five days…
freeezing. Not to mention the constant fear of Carbon Monoxide (I wasn’t sure how it was caused because I am not that smart). Candles have mostly gone, but thank goodness, we got our power back yesterday.
We have currently missed five days of school(two for snow days, three for power outage) and now it is piled onto the summer. sigh.

Well, I won’t be seeing J againe until skool resumes – He’s leaving for all of break tomorrow morning (Trusting my luck, the bus will probably go past his house right as he’s pulling out of the driveway T_T). Yeah, it will feel kind of weird tomorrow, just hanging out w/ my friends (For the last two weeks, I’ve beene hanging out w/ J + a bunch of other random guys during lunch…I’m feeling like a really bad friend right now :o).
I mentioned that he owed me a kiss today, but we were never at the right place at the right time…and then there’s the fact that he’s still somewhat shy/not confident around me. *Sighs* I hope he is able to get over it…I totally understand what it’s like to be insecure, but it just surprises me how insecure J is. He did give me a like…fifteen minute massage today, though ;D. I just walked up to him + started giving him a massage (Hey, everyone likes a massage once in awhile, LOL). When I was finished, he decided to give me one. Ha, he went about it as if I were made of glass or something (Me: “You know, you can rub a lot harder if you want.” J: “I don’t want to hurt your fragile little body.” Me: “Aww, don’t make me laugh!”).
Sighs. But he wants to go see Black Christmas after break, + I heard that it’s supposed to be a good movie…

One asked if I were having a passionate love affair with his corpse, though. But he’s way weird, so I went along with it. Mucho amusing. And my teacher noticed, too and said it was “classy.” Fun fun fun. I need a life.
everything with everybody sounds great. i like all chocolate, but not hershey’s, and not with nuts. i like fannie mae though. and frangos, and all those other nice-chocolate brands.
On the topic of Eragon, my friends all thought the movie was total rubbish too. Except for Morgan, who hasn’t read the book. They all agreed that Murtagh was hott, though. This conversation was held durring math class. We got many odd looks.

To be precise, it would be.’ Dogface went back with, ‘Ever heard of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?’ It was pretty funny. It was also 2:30 am, stuck in a tree with a lot of slavering dachshunds underneath, waiting to get the three of us. Finally Blabberie Stooks stole the Jeep to get us, but he was afraid of hitting them, so we got in and I spent the worst half hour of my life squashed in the back listening to them jump at the sides. Sorry. Just remembering all those memories…
It was my last day at school today. I’m all right. I think I ate too much, however. I’m a little sick of chocolate. It’s really not that great. Not that I munch on carob chips or whatever, that’s still.
Chocolate is amazing. It is also good for you. well, good quality dark chocolate is. NOT HERSHEYS!!!! Hersheys is evil.

Queenie (186), I really like the film Harvey too. I love that it leaves me thinking that things I know for sure could never happen maybe really could after all.
In a different vein, I think it’s interesting how positively Elwood P. Dowd (the Jimmy Stewart character) is portrayed despite his apparent drinking problem. I think it’s a sign of how attitudes toward alcohol have changed between 1950 and nowadays. None of the characters seems overly concerned about how much he drinks. I think that would be different if the movie were remade today. Hey is there a remake?

I saw most of Annie Hall last night. Hilarious. Americanly hilarious, but still very good. Some of the jokes are a little weird, but I liked it. A lot. The A.H. look is kind of outdated, but the movie is also a Woody Allen classic, along with Small Time Crooks. He was in a James Bond movie, did you know that? The first Casino Royale, the 1969 one with Ursula Undress-I mean Andress of course-and Peter Sellers, among other people.

My friend Emily and I went to Mexico today to do some Christmas shopping. It’s always a tad stressful going to a market in Mexico, because you have to bargain for everything. I’m always torn between wanting to get something for cheap and wanting the poor vendors to make a decent profit. Which shows that I’m kind of a sucker, I know.
But I did end up getting some nice things for probably a quarter of what they would have cost up here. Plus I ate some excccceeeellentt burritos. *drool* It’s amazing, the difference between real Mexican food and American Mexican.
Oh oh! And I got to try out my newly aquired spanish 3 skills! I succesfully asked for and obtained directions to the nearest bank without a word of English being used.

The party is ended when the head of the house is wrestled to the ground and pinned. It’s not a real holiday, so i don’t know why anyone would celebrate it, unless they’re manic fans of Seinfeld.
We have a holiday party on Festivus, although we call it Christmas Eve Eve. Usually the people at our party know its festivus though. i heard them talking about it.

Sort of random, but then again, this is the random thread. Has anyone heard of a band called the LeeVees? My mom and I were listening to something about them on NPR. It’s kind of late now that hannuka is over, but they wrote some really cool hannukah songs that are sooooo funny. In particular, a song called Goyim Friends, is hilarious. All lyrics are G. You Tube them or look at their website (I don’t know the URL, you can probably google them) Sorry, random, but that’s just what came to mind.

(214) Yeah, and all the people who live in places in the US where it doesn’t snow. But actually, Australian summer Christmas is quite nice. I experienced it last year. We had a picnic in my Aunt’s backyard with oysters, cold turkey and cold soup. But another wierd thing- a lot of Australians did get a white Christmas this year. In snowed all over Victoria. Which was quite a blessing, coz there some terrible bush fires going on.
Uh. I stabbed my hand while shucking oysters and it is now very sore. I hope it doesn’t impair my present opening abilities.

This will be the second dream with Ebethy, not including the one about the MB convention where I couldn’t find anybody, but Ebeth wasn’t actually in there. Well, I guess she was, but I didn’t actually see her… but I couldn’t figure out who anybody was anyway, so that’s not very acurate.

I just finished opening presents, and now I’m on the comp (obviously), listening to Mannheim Steamroller’s Christmas albums. It’s like techno/new age meets Christmas carols.
My favourite part of the holidays is decorating the tree…Although this year, we didn’t get a chance to decorate it until yesterday afternoon. Our tree never has a theme to it – Just a ton of random ornaments that have been accumulating in our house over the years. I love to find the ones that my LB and I made in grade skool…Hey, I’m sentimental like that!
Zomygawd, my mom gave me BLACK PEARLS! I…I don’t even wear jewelery! I feel inc guilty. She gave me a necklace, a bracelet, and earrings. They are absolutely gorgeous – They almost look like little pieces of hemitite – my favourite stone.
Other than that, I got yet another watch, this really froody floor lamp that looks like a bunch of flowers, these really purty mosaic candle holders, a Power Block for my Nano, some cute pajamas w/ snowflakes, and a ton of other random stuff (Lots of fancy choklit – I can tell that my mother is in love w/ the international food aisle at Meijer, LOL).

On Saturday, I made one of my friends come over to watch MP& The Holy Grail, because she had never seen it. And then the Spanish Inquisition episode, too. She was in shock afterwards. ‘t was funny. I think I scared her a bit with it. But she did laugh every time they “rode horses.”
What else? Hmm…
On Thurs. [last day of school before break] I only went to two classes–math, because I had a test [BOMBED!] and chem because it’s fun. Mostly.
So. Chem. I think I babbled about it and the Sir Isaac picture in an earlier post… We didn’t actually do much. Just ran around and talked to people when we should have been doing our lab reports. We did do our graphs, though
And I found that the mother of kid-with-whom-I’m-going-to-el-dance-o [who will be referred to as K, because it’s the first letter of that whole hyphenated thing] is a camera fiend. Zark. Yeah. We were discussing that. Haha, then he called my house for directions and was on the phone with my mumsy for literally twenty minutes. Weird. Looks like I’ll be creeping him out…. gosh, I’m mean. Anyway.
Eleven until two thirty-five on Thurs. was cool, though.
I hung in Gifted for the entire time and wasted time. ‘t was cool. We played card games. And I learned some game called “Drug Dealer” and I sucked. We were pretty much high on winter break spirits. And this one kid won, like, every game, from Bullshit to Spit to Kemps [sp?]. Actually, my partner and I won Kemps the same amount of times as he and his partner. My sister and her friend won once, I think… Yeah, she was there. And kept trying to see everyone’s card during Drug Dealer. Typical of her. I hate that game, though. It’s all one big staring contest, because the dealer is supposed to wink. Essentially. Staring while making a really straight face. I was making a really weird face. My amused-but-really-clueless expression. My Kemps partner or K probably had the straightest faces. And this one annoying guy from my gov’t class pwned at winking inconspicuously. Our teachers/supervisors thought we were funny playing that game. One joined in for a round or two. Funfunfun.
And now I’m at home and I’ve been eating all day. Yay, food!

We both got Frangos in our stockings from “santa.” i got some clothes and money and barnes+nobles giftcards and itunes giftcards and…. oh yes, and an IPOD!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!! One of the froody new shuffles that are tiny. I’m listening to it now. In fact, i’ve been listening to it all day. and the little flashy light is still green. Man, how long can this thing go before running out of juice?
I got one of those magic scarf things. We call it a Thneed. Which everyone everyone everyone needs. (quote from Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax”) It’s such the coolest thing. It’s purple, and I can wear it however I want. Well, not however I want. There are some things it would have difficulty being. But not many! ‘Tis fun.
Oh, man, I had the weirdest dream last night. My teacher, who will be given a new name in the dream description, (Ms. Pebble) was the main character. When I flew in a room, she didn’t even gasp or anything! Everyone else did. And I’m not putting all of this on the dream thread because no one goes onto that thread. I forget the rest of it, though. Well, not all of it. I had to make a “Nest, and not just any nest! A biting nest!” It was a riddle that I supposedly knew. I, him herself, did not, but that’s the magic of dreams. I came up with the answer, (it turns out that the answer was a snake. I won, but the prize was to be this mean but rich person’s daughter, and I didn’t want to do that, so I flew away. Many things were involved in this dream. There was one time when I had to ask my cousin what was going to be on my math test. It was graphs. “All you have to do is…” but that’s all I heard, because I was falling down the cliff. And if any of you fly in your dreams, you know that you need a decent head start, so I couldn’t fly away. So I went to the school nurse to bring me back to life, even though I was alive, but my body wasn’t. I kind of watch myself at the sidelines in most of my dreams. And then the nurse said I had hypothermia. It was odd.
I am tired. Why am I tired? I have no idea why I’m tired.

I made a buche de Noel. I’m not very good at it, but I tried, and I borrowed some plastic axes and trees to stick on it. It was tasty, but the ganache was more than a little rich.
I didn’t get anything. But I ordered some Doc Martens. They were two left boots, a size 6 and a size 7. I am disappointed, but I can fix it, so that’s all right.

I got a brand new shiny eisel!! (actually, it’s matte black but whatever). It’s a nice sturdy, light aluminum one that folds up well and doesn’t rock. I love it. I also got The Omnivore’s Dilemma, the new Decemberists album, and Duke Ellington’s Greatest Hits.
Oh yeah, and a shirt with a picture of a man looking at a sign on a wall that says “If you see anything mysterious or unusual, enjoy it while you can.”
It was excellent fun.

242- I have tons of dreams of flying. Actually, no matter what my dream is about, I can always fly. And I’m always convinced that I can fly, and it’s so sad when I wake up, I can’t fly. I combine the sensations of floating in water and being on the traveling rings in gym to make flying. I think.
I have FINALLY finished the book I was writing for NaNoWriMo. Praise the Muses. I swear I could heare them whispering in my ear.

I think everyone should read Tom Holt’s “The Portable Door.” It’s amazing. It has all the fantasy of HP (don’t groan), and it’s hilarious. Plus, the LOTR jokes are enough to leave you in stitches. Permanently.
I dreamed that my school had brand new, handy dandy notebo- er broomsticks! And I believe I got a chance to fly on one. But then I woke up and forgot it. And remembered it again. I hve flown in my dreams before and let me tell you, it is just like swimming except without water.
Ditto on that praise! I finished writing a rough draft of my letter to the principal about a recycling program, and your article with the golden toad was very helpful. I quoted the El Ninos paragraph but the stupid spellcheck kept underlining “Ninos” and replacing it with “nines”.

i had a dream last night, that i was trying to put this golf ball on top of the christmas tree, but it kept jumping off and flying around the room and hitting people on their heads. then i threw a ham at it, and it died. but then it turned into this little shriveled melon thing, so i ate it. then I died. And i went to the afterworld, and i met the golf ball there, and it was like, well know you know how it feels to be dead! not so nice is it? then i jumped down a conviently placed chimney and escaped from it. then i woke up. Strange.

I had the weirdest dream this morning (+ then I woke up at one-thirty this afternoon – got over twelve hrs of sleep). I had to move to this creepy city in the middle of nowhere, and I lived in this huge apartment building. I lived on the 139th (top) floor, and – get this – my friend lived on the -264th floor! See, there were tons of ppl moving to this city, but for some reason, ppl didn’t want to build the apartments upward, so they were building them downward! I was really, really tired, too – I’ve never actually felt tired in a dream before.
I went through a couple of days in the dream. I would wake up, go to skool for about half the day, then go to work for a really long time, then go back to my apartment and collapse on my bed. But then I would immediately have to get up + go back to skool.
Well, I hope everyone had/is having (?) a Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, a Kwazy Kwanzaa…etc!

My Christmases are funny because my whole family, which is atheist, gets together to eat dinner with our close friends, who are Jewish. Plus this year we had a Buddhist, too. But no Christians. Yeah. 253+255 – I almost always fly in my dreams. It’s really up to me whether or not I fly. I control what I do, for the most part. My first flying endeavor that I remember was when I was in 2nd grade. I was Harry Potter. I flew up a huge hollow column and then smacked Malfoy in the face. It was brief, but nonetheless satisfying. Often I’m a character that looks similar to Kim Possible, and it’s a nightmare that I have gotten used to. I’m always chased by bad guys, and flying at full speed is difficult. I probably tense up like crazy when I have a dream in which I’m chased. Oh, well, I could talk about my dreams for hours, but I won’t. I’ll go to the dreams thread for that. *goes to dreams thread and decides that dreams threads don’t seem to work very well so just says nothing more about dreams for the time being*
260 – I have never had numbers in my dreams, at least so I can remember. And my dreams are more abstract. For the most part, I can control what I do, but not where I am. I feel tired a lot in my dreams, though. One dream, I was being chased by the evil Curious George, and at that time, I could make myself wake up, or at least change dreams. It was helpful to be able to get out of bad nightmares. I miss that feature. Anyway, it was just about the end of that point of time in my dreamness, so when I tried to wake up, I saw my stairs. It was comfortable and familiar enough for me, so I relaxed. Suddenly, CG and his troops showed up! I was so scared. I have a couple of other dreams where I thought I woke up, but I’ll just say that one.

255.) I actually had a really weird dream last night that involved flying. I dreamed that I had just taken a shower and was wearing two towels (I always wear two towels, one around my waist, one around my top half…. I’m too tall for just one towel) when I grabbed a pillow for some reason and started swimming the butterfly (the stroke) in the air, and floated around. I flew outside, (remember, all I had on was two towels….. And a couch pillow…..) and tried to find some clothes. Flying around, I ended up by this gigantic fancy skyscraper hotel where Artemis Fowl was opening up a window. (it was really big and talll….) I suddenly had clothes on (weird….) and I waved. He saw me and almost fell over. Then this kid named Steven who is at my school (and VERY annoying, but his brother is even more so…) saw me and said, “I want to fly!” He was in the same hotel as Artemis. He jumped out of the window and fell on the ground several stories below and walked back inside. Then I turned the towels into magic carpets (the towels were now on my back) so that I wouldn’t have to fly on a pillow. Then Artemis jumped onto one of the towels, and we flew off to some gigantic house that we were suddenly in, and there was a girl pouring strawberry jam on a quilt. She looked at us and said, in a weird, hyper, evilish voice, “Hehehehe, this is my midnight snack. I love blanket. It will be so yummy!†We took the blanket with us and came to a place with a butler (old, decrepit, and skinny, the epitome of butler-hood) who was playing the piano. We threw the blanket on him, and he said, “Oh, no. I have a bloody nose. Goodbye.†And he left. I started playing the piano, when the butler came back in, swallowing a corner of blanket. His mouth was all jammy and he said, “That was an excellent blanket. Please leave.†And then my dream switched to a weird cross between Avatar, my school, some people who lived underwater for two years (Steve Irwin and his family, to be precise. And Woody. From Toy Story.) and a baby that slept in a cello. Kind of strange.
I had a dream in which all I was doing, was playing Civ IV. Seriously. Actually, I’ve had it more than once. I’m officially obsessed.

Just a whole bunch of musers sitting around a table while others entered the room and their names were announced. And then Queenie came in and she had a twin sister named claire…
I hardly ever remember my dreams. I wonder why that is. I remembered my dreams sometimes when I was younger, but now I hardly ever remember my dreams.
I found this on a website. I’m not sure it it’s true or not, but here it is:
f you’re not remembering your dreams, its actually a good thing. Everyone dreams each night (granted you can cycle through the sleep stages) and remembering a dream means you were awakened or prematurely forced out of a sleep stage. This causes you to gain consciousness while still thinking about the dream you were having. Its like how most people remember nightmares, because a nightmare is usually terrifying and causes you to wake up very quickly.
Not remembering dreams means that you are getting a good night’s sleep each night, at least enough so that your body can naturally sleep without being disturbed and awakened. I know it seems boring to not remember dreams, but in the end it just signifies that your body is getting good sleep.
275 – I had a Muse dream last night too. It was really vivid when I woke up, but it’s mostly gone now. Pentatonikk and Ebeth had large roles. And Ebeth had made a post on Penty’s Proboards site.
I’ve had multiple dreams about finding copies of long-lost Muses.
Last night I dreamed that I got a piece of that newfangled smartpaper and a puppy that my mom actually let me keep.

on a totally new and random and possibly slightly annoying topic, yesterday i went on youtube and found videos of Bowling For Soup’s version of Baby One More Time and Green Day’s Jesus of Suburbia and then i was really excited for no reason.
PP- I dunno, because I always feel like I don’t get a good nights sleep. This morning I realized a slight tint of dark under my eyes. On normal school days, I go to sleep at 11 and wake up at 5:30. Maybe that’s why…I have an abnormal sleep pattern.

Oh, sorry about double post but speaking of Youtube, has anyone heard of the Japanese drama “1 litre of tears”? It’s based off a true story and it’s about a girl who at age 16 (about) gets a brain disease. Her cranium is starting to deteriorate and slowly she begins to lose the ability to talk, walk or even write. It’s extremely sad.
Weird. I was thinking about the dream I had this morning, the first dream I can actually remember in a while, and then I came here and everyone was talking about dreams.
I figure I’ll share mine, though it’s not nearly as interesting as some of the other dreams on here. Here goes:
I was in this room with about 4 other kids, each of us sitting in these sort of jepoardy-cubicle things, only they had roofs and were spread out. One of them was a really annoying very-mathy(I don’t know, thats just how I thought of him at the time) looking boy, another a tall girl with blond hair pulled up in a ponytail with a very haughty look. The whole room lit up like on that show, weakest link?, and an announcer man came out. He would say a word, and we’d have to buzz in with the correct synonyn and spell it out. Apperently, the tall blond girl was the reigning champ. We stopped for a commercial or something, and she came over and started bragging, while eating some complimentary cookies. Then we played this game she designed where there was a story on a large piece of posterboard with some blanks, like in mad libs, only instead of verb, noun, adj., etc., under the blanks, there were words. We had to guess the synonym like before. A huge crowd of people gathered around. Nobody was able to guess the word. I had a feeling that the girl had heard the right guess but wasn’t telling anyone (if no one guessed, she won). Then my dream went into this weird tangent involving the girls uncle on the commitee that approved the board-game thing we were playing. Then we(all the contestants) were in this little white room with crappy tables and some refreshments, and my nose started to glow, and then the girls nose started to glow too. She started to ask me questions about a part time job I had had, over the summer at the summer camp I actually worked at in real life. Apparently, the nose glowing meant I was lying about something. I ended up trying to reassure the girl I wasn’t lying. Then I woke up and didn’t have a chance to ask the girl what she was lying about.

Okay, strange dream I had last night – Me and alot of the kids from my neighborhood were going on a scavenger hunt in this huge mansion which was floating above an island. So, everyone starts looking for stuff, and then me and two of my freinds end up in this big room with a well in the middle of it. Then an invisible octopus comes out and grabs my two freinds and takes them into the well. I turn into a dolphin (in dreams I’m able to turn into different animals, which I think is preyyt cool) and rescue them. We are now far away from the mansion and I tow my freinds back to the beach. I then turn into a guinea pig (dunno why) and get shot by some guy wearing my uncle’s fishing outfit. Pretty random dream, but I was then woken up by my alarm clock.

YUSS!! I finally got my book copied and bound! 10 nice, shiny copies for all my friends and family. Then I’m going to revise it and send it in to a publisher.

Also, may I ask why our comments need to be moderated? Is there some kind of law that if a magazine geared toward children has any sort of website, official or otherwise, the previously mentioned children should not be allowed to converse freely? And therefore, if I or any other reader were to create a place where we could, I would be in violation of the afformentioned law?
I’m just curious. This site seems really great, but obviously the GAPAs can’t be on all the time, which probably hinders conversation. Not that I would know, as a newbie and all.

Either that, or someone says or does something the next day that triggers a memory of the dream.

i had a weird dream last night. it was mostly weird because it was a lot more coherent than my dreams usually are. my friend and i were doing this weird scavenger hunt where we had to go and buy all this different stuff. so we were running around madly on a place called Comet Street looking for stuff. yeah. that had absolutely no point.
