Life, the universe, pies, hot-pink bunnies, world domination, and everything
oh! that’s so cool! One spot of HPB color!
Another worthless second post. GAPAs, can you try to post new random threads at around 9:30 California time, since l’m the only one on?
How ’bout nooooooo, zepata?
Nice picture! Piratiness rocks!
Apparently, the hot pink bunnies have invaded the pirate ship of Muse, and the Muses are taking revenge!
Lovely picture.
(1, 4, 5, 6) Thanks. I think of this picture as a prequel to the last one.
Or, depending on one’s outlook, an antidote.
Oh man! That’s flamablamabulous!
Oooh, lovely!
That is a rather nice image. Especially since I find the Hot Pink Bunnies odd in any case. I think I have the issue where they first appeared. I have lots of old Muses. I have ones like the one on sewers and mazes. Others, however, have been lost to the ravages of time. I think I received the second issue of Muse ever as my first, the one on slaughterhouses and vegetarians.
I have to work tonight. How lovely that will be. I think, just to make it interesting, I’ll affect an English accent while on the job.
Lovely image, Lady B.! It reminds me of the Pumpkin Drop.
(10) Odd? You find them odd? How odd.
Oddness is relative.
ooh, love the pic!
so i’m going to my first OSU game…why, i don’t know. we’ll probably leave at halftime. the band should be cool though.
3- How `bout yessssssssss, O.?
l have noted a decay on Museblog. Many threads on the main page a inactive.
Love the picture!
10- I’ve many ancient ones too, mine, alas, only start with the first issue of ’99 and are missing the future creatures issue (I *need* to get that one) as my freshman bio student teacher actually *lost* it! aaaah! lost a precious Muse! That upset me greatly.
Whee! I get to go to the renaissance fair tomorrow! ^_^
16- You are SO lucky. :jealous:
My collection of Muses seemed to dwindle as the years went by. I have about two old issues, maybe three if I went to the country house and searched thoroughly. ‘Tis sad, I know. My old issue(s?) are missing their covers, too.
Yes, that could be because older bloggers aren’t posting as much because there are too many people here now.
14,18- I’ve noticed a correspondence between the lack of posts on other threads and an enormous amount of posts on the random thread. I think that it’s less that not as many “experienced” people are posting and more that everyone’s using one main thread.
Glassboro- There are less active people than there used to be, if you ask me. It’s just that a few newbies suddenly showed up and they don’t always use correct punctuation or spelling. Or perhaps they’re who you mean by “people”…?
nice pic. it is luuuurvley.
Great picture! My favorite this month.
14,18,19- Would I be considerd an older blogger, or a newbie? I’m not posting as much because of school.
And therefore, I’m ending up reading other people’s posts to catch up, and then ending up not having time to make posts of my own. See my name. It will probably change back to normal on Christmas Break, where I will have time to contribute more. Sorry for the double post.:???:
(14, 18, 19) Now that many established MBers have acquired one another’s e-mail addresses, it’s also possible that they’re communicating with one another directly rather than posting on the blog.
23- that doesn’t really happen. True, there are a few MBers that I communicate with through IM but it is usually more like conversation with an off blog friend. And I only use email for story and poem feedback. I don’t see that much off blog blog-like communication. Really, the blog is the best way to talk.
23- Oooh, how awful. *pouts* Actually they all my email if they search around enough, as I have theirs, but some of them don’t want my email because they don’t know me personally, and I am honoring that very exclusive decision. :huffy:
That’s still an extraordinarily touchy subject for me. I had no idea. *marvels*
It shouldn’t be, since I’ve actually been bugging Kiki about Terraformed through email, knowing that she doesn’t come on the blog an awful lot and probably checks her email more.
The double standard is painful. I will now change the subject.
I have been cleaning house all day, in preparation for the housewarming party this evening.
Oooh, I like this pic!!
I just have been really, really busy. As have probably many of the older bloggers, espcally the juniors/seniors what with collage coming soon and all.
Already had a quad (tennis tournament thing with 4 teams) this morning, and hockey later tonight though I may not go. Got more sunburn, ahg.
As clarification, Kiki and I haven’t been having actual conversations. It goes more like this:
Me: Have you heard from Romana yet?
Kiki: No.
-A week passes-
Me: Have you heard from Romana yet?
Kiki: No.
-Repeat-
Although yesterday she did say that Romana had written and said that she was swamped but would get to it ASAP. So anyone on here who still cares about that story, there you have it.
23 (Robert) – I don’t think that’s happening…well, actually, I don’t know for sure…but I hardly ever communicate with others outside the blog (except for MuseCast recordings), but I wouldn’t think it would create a decay on the blog…
(24-28) It was just a hypothesis, and evidently not a sound one. I’m sure it’s just that everyone suddenly has loads of homework to do. That’s assuming there really has been an appreciable slowdown in blog traffic — I haven’t checked.
29- Robert, I think the reason no ones posting is because of school. I however am very good at ballancing homework and blogtime while still managing to get good marks. (my blog time is significantly more than my homework time) if I can do it other people can too. grr…. I miss everyone on the blog who isn’t here.
By the way, the picture for this edition of September Splash found inspiration in an illustration from Howard Pyle’s Book of Pirates.
31- Heehee. I see the similarity.
I think it’s probably because of homework. I manage to come on MuseBlog and do homework, but that’s the reason I stay up so late… *heh*
Rebecca – I love the picture and the inspiration!
Ack! That picz is creepy.
YA!!! OVERBOARD WITH THE HPBS!!!!!!! DESTROY THE BUNNIES FOR ALL ETERNITY!! YAHH!!
bunnies that are pink are evil.
:evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:
35-38- what was the point of that? if you are a newbie I choose to pie you *pies*
I adore the picture!
And I’ve never e-mailed another MB-er, although I do participate in other things, such as the region in nationstates. If that counts.
And I’m just a lurker…
I really like the picture!!! And I apoligize since I havnt already for not coming on as much because of school and my fall dance schedule.
lovely picture. what medium was used? charcoal?
(42) Actually, I painted it in watercolor. But it’s an unusual paint that uses graphite as the pigment — a little like painting with pencil.
The bunny color I added digitally.
43- wow. *bows to the almighty GAPA of the art world*.
I really hope people post tonight because I don’t have anything to do. i estimate I will be on for the next 3 hours.
I know this is a double post and I appolagize.
remeber how on the last thread Grant O. talked about how people kept lighting bad molotov cocktails on fire, well….. someone made a very successful one in this place in my city (is being non-specific because this is the internt) and it was a HUGE disaster. speaking of which. some idiot children just set off a firework in my neighbors back yard. i saw it through the window literaly 5 minutes ago.
27- lol. Romana’s legendarily hard to get a hold of. She is the editorial awesomness of Muse, after all.
THE PICTURE PWNS.
Finally! The weekend!
My school has had SEVEN false fire alarms in the past three weeks. SEVEN!!! You’d think they could fix “faulty sensors” by now.
That picture is awesome!
Eh, I guess I haven’t been around much lately. It’s not that I have a huge amount of homework, it’s just that most of the day is taken up by school and on weekends I have other stuff. The internet has been seeing less and less of me.
Awesome picture.
23- Well, l talk to C++D and Gim personally and know C++D’s e-mail, and l know Glassboro’s e-mail but, that was an accident.
this is slightly funny, I’m off reading old posts and I find some of my old posts. does anyone remeber my dreams of becoming a male model? *chuckles* I still think i would be a very hot man, I just don’t tell everyone I meet.
43- Wow, that sounds fun. Brush strokes with the look of pencil, very cool.
49- Ah yeah, I remember that. An interesting discussion on the Muser Profiles thread.
Back after a very short absence, I find that the blog has changed considerably. Time runs faster here. I’d almost forgotten.
Now to catch up on everything…
my eyes are watering from staring at the computer screen. i’ve been on MB today since 5:00
HI! Good to have ya back!
RE: people not posting: I think this is because of school, and this:
no post in a day.
ME: well, this is not having people on it.
goes off to anthor therd.
next person sees no posts, does not post. and so on.
RE: pic: wow, thats good. but I think only koko whats to throw the HPB over-board.
51- YES! thank you thank you thank you! go to the ethere edit therd! YES!
about emails and such…they usually remind me of the existance of the blog, and lead to more posts not that i ever actually forget the blog exists, but sometimes i just don’t post a lot. Like right now for example, i’m talking to musers on AIM, and having just finished my pandora/limewire music-stealing spree, i’m reading stuff on the blog.
almost a week until nano! *eep*
ooh my eyes have stopped tearing and have dried up. never go on the computer for over 5 hours. no matter how much you love MB/are adicted to it *cough*
excuse my double post. I was reading some of the archives. and in Aug-xaustion part3, i think, treehugger refers to me as he/she. just to clear things up: I’m a girl.
ooh, tripple post. to bad no one else is posting. well, my eyes have gotten so dry they are moist, weird how these things work. like when you are so tired you are awake. I’m going to get off the computer now….. grrr…… I hate getting off MB. good night. see ya tomorrow.
56- I thought nono was in november?!
(56) NaNo is in November, but in October the website relaunches for the new year.
51- Thank GOD! Things are falling apart without you! Well, not exactly, but there are some very upset people over on the RPW thread.
Hmmm…. I get to go to Texas in Oktober for an Insane Jewish Tennagers convention. Heeheehee I get to stay in a summer camp and play poker for candy all night. Yay.
I also get to go do the same thing in New Orleans in March. Fun
Meanwhile I get to go over to a family friend’s house an sulk in a corner because everyone is either old or under 9. Grrr.
October plese come soon!!!!!
Instead of sulking in a corner, why don’t you smile in a corner and weird everyone out? Defying others’ expectations is one of life’s Muserish pleasures.
Wow! The blog is really weird…is this what happens when you update it or something? You were talking about doing that a few weeks ago…
…or is it just me seeing this?
No, it’s really happening, and for the reason you cite. I’m not sure why it’s exhibiting this particular kind of weirdness, but it will probably get even stranger before it returns to what passes for normality around here.
Back to work…
Wow, it’s back to normal!
That was really weird….
What comes with the “updates”?
It reverted to the defualt layout? Oddment. I don’t really like this one, as you can’t see post numbers and that makes it hard to respond. I suppose we could just say things like “Robert/9:57-” though.
Perhaps we could temporarily use another skin untill the nice old one comes back?
Oooh, nevermind, here it is. Fun…
(67) Mostly new control panels to make GAPAs’ lives easier, and some security features help keep out spam, hackers, bunnies, etc. You might not notice much difference — except for the things that go wrong, as inevitably happens whenever new software comes on board.
We’re not done yet. In fact, the hard part still lies ahead. Be prepared: there may be hiccups today.
48- o.O email me…
63- Fun… wonder if my parents’ll make me do that when I’m a teen…
I MISSED THE WEIRDNESS… man. stupid yom kippur…
Will there be more?
OMG NANO IS ALMOST HEEEERE
Gotta think of a plot
but I think I got one already
(67, 68) Jolting, wasn’t it?
(70) MB now works with my RSS reader, I see. Of course, it shows only what normal blogs consider “posts,” not comments.
(67) Oh, and it might make it easier for you to do your MuseCasts.
74 – Really? How?
They must have a pretty tight security system…it isn’t easy to keep out bunnies
63- You don’t actually know the joys of playing with under-9-year-olds until you’ve tried it. It *can* be fun sometimes. Not always, but sometimes.
Unless L*** is over, though (she’s ten, actually, and very precocious (plus she helped me clean my room)), I’ll just sit and talk to the grownups. They have interesting conversations.
I missed it being weird. Maybe it will be weird again.
74- REALLY? Will it make it easier for me to get on them?
No, no, I have the big computer now, I can try the mic on that.
I have a love/hate relationship with weekends. I love that I don’t have to go to school, but I start thinking about how awful school is when my routine is disrupted.
Good morning/noon museblog. after I left MB at 11:00 my time, i drank a can of coke therefore I got about 3 hours of sleep last night. *curses cafene* wooooooo I’m tired. I ate falafel for breakfast. mmmm….. on an art related note: I CAN”T FIND MY DRAWING PENCILS AND I ONLY GOT TO USE THEM TWICE!!!!!!!
It’s not being weird for me. It’s loading a lot faster though. Yay!
I like weekends most of the time, but they give me an excuse to procrastinate when I have homework. I need to start thinking about NaNo. It’s going to be my first one and I’m really excited!
47- Are you sure it isn’t drills? Because last week we had two fire alarms a day. Getting them all over with for the rest of the year.
I missed the blog acting weird? Probably a good thing…
Johnstown competition was yesterday. I got to the school at 10, we practiced until 12:30 when it started raining. There was a lunch break in which the trombone section mostly sat in a circle and talked instead of eating lunch. Fun. At 1 we practiced more. Sometime between 2 and 3 we got on the bus. Then a 2.5 hour bus ride with penguini. I read her book while she listened to my iPod. At the school, we changed into uniforms and practiced and suchlike. We saw a group that I believe was Margaret’s (white and maroon uniforms?) but had no chance to go closer. We spent some time in a blank field nearby. It was kind of lumpy and there were lots of bugs. I couldn’t brush off the mosquitoes because I was playing, and we were in half-uniform so they could reach my arms… I count >15 bites now, including at least two on my face. But then it was time to play. It was very slippery from the rain. I actually fell down, completely, at a point near the beginning (we go from circles to lines and I’m on the far end of the circle. I slipped while jazz running in on the last step because I shifted my weight to try to get six extra inches and actually reach my dot for once.) It didn’t hurt, my thoughts were more like “why is the world spinning… look, I’m on the ground. This can’t be good.” only with more profanity, because that sort of thing is expected and encouraged in marching band, and not so on the blog. But, anyway, I remembered the small body movements we just put in, and didn’t really make many other mistakes, so that’s OK. After the show we all stood around and talked, first about the show, then about homecoming, then other topics that steadily grew more random as stuff was put away. I won’t list them for reasons which you can probably guess by now with the tone of my descriptions. Oh, once we tried to list the types of trombones, that’s okay. There’s a soprano trombone, which is about half the size of a normal one and is awesome, a tenor one, the normal one, and a bass one, that’s slightly bigger and has 2 triggers. Then you can count the trigger trombone (a normal one with shortcuts) and the valve trombone (a baritone disguised as a trombone). And it was hard to hear the announcements but we won in our group, being the only national-level band there, and had a score of 83.5. On the (normal school) bus home, for the first hour I listened to my iPod with and talked to Vinayik, because penguini had left to see her grandparents. Then I curled up as best I could and slept or at least dozed until we got back. W got back an hour late, at 12:40 instead of 11:30.
yes! no prolems!
I have cleanophobia and procrastinator’s bug, in other words, I’m avoiding the kitchen because it is in a shambles. I don’t know where to start. There isn’t room in the sink for all the dishes.
Well, see you later–I hope.
Beautiful art! ♥
13 ~ Aaah, I’m so jealous! I saw them do the cursive Ohio thing on TV once and ever since I’ve harbored not-so-secret fantasies of being the sousaphone who dots the i. OSU is also the only football team I really bother to support at all since my dad grew up in Ohio so I inherited that from him.
10, 16, 17, etc. ~ I started getting Muse in 2000 or 2001 but sadly I lost a lot of issues when we moved in 2002.
47 ~ We’ve had something like two false alarms and two fire drills. Not too shabby although nothing compared to seven, you lucky duck!
79 ~ I am 90% positive I saw you but I didn’t want to go “OMG HI” just in case it wasn’t really you. You guys have spiffy uniforms. (you are yellow and black, no?) But yeah, the low brass/pit/battery people put our instruments back on the truck and we were lined up to walk back to our buses and you guys walked past to go to the field. What part of the line were you in? I thought I saw you toward the back but I didn’t see the front of the line… We are indeed white and maroon. We got a seventy or something. xD We were all like “WE GOT SECOND IN OUR DIVISON oh snap there are two bands in the division.” It was so funny because we have a ginormous band (over 200 people) so we got in one single file line to walk to the field and I was a little bit ahead of the middle. People were standing by the walkway and staring at us and every once in a while I’d hear someone go “There are so many of them…” or “It just keeps going and going,” et cetera. We had an awesome time on the bus. On the way there Jamie taught me pre-calculus while Sarah guessed “two pi over three” for everything he asked, but since he’s a drum major he had to stay and get the score so we acted like silly freshman girls with Katie, Olivia, and Dana and played “would you rather…” It was a bit awkward though because my mom was a chaperone and happened to be on the same bus sitting one seat away. We had SO much fun though, and for us, seventy is a good first competition score (c+q’s band is way better than ours, that’s just how it is. haha.).
wow, the Lions had a really tough game today, I saw some of it and it was really amazing.
HELLO TO THE WORLD!!!!
Hello people! Some of you may have noticed I haven’t been on the blog much in the last month or so. I’m really busy and have also started frequenting some other forums, so I’m afraid that my presence on MuseBlog has greatly decreased in the last few months. I’m sorry to all the RRR people and such, but I’m afraid I won’t be much help anymore. My life is pretty boring, but I found precedent to my SciFair project, which is good, and have become a Trekkie, which is also good (but does absolutely nothing to break down strereotypes.) As you can probably tell, I’m procrastinating. Ta ta.
85- Yeah, I’ve missed you.
(85) We miss you, but we realize that it’s hard for our little blog to compete with online forums where you’re allowed to swear express yourself more forcefully. Still, we’re not jealous. As we see it, MBers who stray to other websites will inevitably wind up infecting them with Muser values. It’s all part of Mostly Harmless. Today MuseBlog — tomorrow the Web!
“Infecting”? Wait a minute.
It sounds as if he’s saying that every MBer is…
…a living computer virus!
Impossible. Even bunnies aren’t that insidious.
Ok, I am confused, what is Nano? Sorry…..
87- I try to avoid sites where you’re allowed to swear, actually, which is why I never stay on other forums/blogs for very long.
One thing I do like about forums is Private Messaging, but MB is a thousand times better than any other forum even without PMing.
So how will this new upgrade affect the Musecasts? I know it won’t help ME, but I’d still like to know.
88- National Novel Writing Month. You try to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November.
82-yeah, script ohio was sweet. it was funny how they had like fourteen sousaphones, probably because they had all wanted to dot the i. their drum major also is fantastic. i can see why shayna wanted to be one so badly. i looked for henry, but i wasn’t sure if he was actually in it or not. he’d be a trumpet though (he tried out for drum major. he was really good but i guess not as amazing as “stu” (as shayna calls him when she talks about him, which is constantly :D))
also, apols for confuzzlement over nano, didn’t mean to freak people out. i meant october and was thinking of nano
and i have loads of chem to do, so bye for now
Happy late September!
Wah ha ha ha! I’m on like a really big caffiene high right now cuz I just got back from the movie theater, which is where I work, and I get free soda and I had like three Mountain Dews. Oh and the power went off last night and messed up the credit card thingy so when we tried to swipe a card it froze the entire system for like five minutes… And we ran out of pop corn halfway through the first showing ‘cuz these guys were having like a party or something and ordered six large popcorns. Six! and I managed to burn myself with the popcorn butter… still not entirely sure how.
*draws breath*
Can’t wait for NaNo to start…
Actually I’m amazingly not procrastinating because I actually *gasp* did my homework yesterday.
Still, I suppose I should be out socializing… Cause mom’s having some sort of sushi dinner thingy.
…Oh well.
:idea:TNÖ:idea:
91 ~ Yeah, I’m sure they have tons of tuba players that apply to OSU for just that reason!
Yum. I just cooked my family dinner. It was chuck roast simmering in beef stock and vegetables for two hours and thirty minutes, with a side of (my) homemade garlic bread. *pats stomach* That was REALLY good, if I do say so myself.
95: Stop it! You’re making me so hungry. Just kidding.
I think I need a snack. Since it’s 9pm here, not dinner time. :food crave:
95 ~ That sounds amazing. Will you come to my house sometime? :D
It was my first second time cooking a FULL meal. The last time was spaghetti and meatballs with a sauce and a small salad and (again) garlic bread.
87- Actually, the forum I’m mostly on nowadays already has musers, including Emmatheduck. You’d be happy to know we are spreading the word, and her avatar (a little picture you can put under your name) is a HPB. They really are everywhere…
95- Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm………………………………………
I can only tolerate so much of that holding down the keys.
Too much to read…I’ll read it all later…
Re: not being on museblog
I am on way less because of school, homework, and practice. museblog is a form of procrastination. Yes, I talk to other musebloggers through facebook, IM, and now LJ, but that doesn’t replace the blog. And, yes, I have been pretty much just visiting the random thread.
99- What forum is that? Now you’ve got me interested…
MuseBlog’s official policy, with few exceptions, is to ignore the rest of the Web.
104- I thought a GAPA would say something like that. Oh wellz.
<wonder>does this work?</wonder>
yay! ebeth got the < and > to work! (actually she went on the hw site for the web tech class and got an html-learning website :D) for the curious, it’s & lt for less than and gt for greater than, and then ;
Taiwan Hippo Fan and I made 3 apple pies today! From scratch – the dough was the hardest, because we had to keep mixing it with ice water then chilling it and such. They were really good. We still have one left – we’re contemplating whether we should eat it or throw it
87-yes… and have links and sigs and avatars… and tell people you aim…. but no worries! i like the people here, so i’m not leaving.
Grrr… I’m sick again . I was sick 2 days ago. This is getting monotonous.
The family friend thing wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I got to look around the fully equipped recording studio. 5 guitars very sweetness. I still was bored out of my mind.
Oh well.
The first words I heard today were, “The problem with your costume…” Not the best thing to wake up to. And now I have to go look up surrealism.
The blog is curiously dead. It’s an inservice day so I don’t have school, and it’s nighttime in England so Cinnamoon doesn’t have school, but we’re the only ones on.
(112) Actually, this is pretty typical of Mondays, even more so since school started.
113- Wow. I could go clean my room, I guess…
(114) By coincidence, that happens to be the very thing I’m procrastinating.
115- Really? Wow.
sweet pic….congrats to whoever did it. (i would go find out, but i’m too lazy to go read the previous comments)
whats an inservice day?
117- A day when the teachers have to work but the kids get the day off.
Rebecca did the picture.
118- We have an inservice hour every Tuesday which means that we get off on Tuesday at 2 but every other day at 3.
MAH BIRTHDAY’S IN SEVEN DAYS! w00ticles. I’m getting a website, I’m getting a website…
119-we just come in an hour later on the second tuesday of every month
i bought sour gummy worms and m+ms at cvs today. they were yummyful.
I have nothing more to say. this is rather depressing.
119- Yeah, so do we.
90-wow………..
Is it just me or has Red-Tailed HAWK been missing?
119- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
95- that’s sounds deelish. I could live off garlic bread….. adn popcorn, carots and apples.
118- in Canada it’s called a PA day or a PD day.
122- yes, he’s gone…. *glances around hopefully*
Tomorrow i get off at 2:30 because there’s a staff meeting. I’m going to visit my old school and anoy my teachers
123- I have a friend that does that routinely. She gos to the middle school and makes her history teacher ask her questions about the Civil War.
That’s a lovely picture, Miss Lasley.
Sorry I haven’t been on much. Lethargy………
Anyone like 8-bit theatre?
l like swords!
l like stats!
l like money!
l like evil! (and white mage)
Match the light warrior’s quotes!
And the dark warrior’s characteristics-
l like spiders!
l like cookies! (but not imps)
l like ships! Yar!
l like nothing. Hss.
Grant is back from touring OU. It is now tied with Wooster as my top choice for college. There will follow a brief interlude about Wales.
WALES!!!!!! WALES!!!!!! WALES!!!!!!! WALES!!!!!!
If I go to OU, majoring in international studies like I want to, I can go to Wales for 10 weeks as an intern. Not as a file clerk type intern either, but as a helping-to-draft-legislation-type intern. Bones. I am extremely excited about this. The professor I met with today in that dept. was extremely nice and has gotten me excited about this. Outrageously excited.
I cleaned off my desk and moved my laptop onto it, so now I am sitting in my closet at my desk typing this on my laptop. Using a blue-glowing USB mouse I got at the bookstore in Athens. It r0x0rs ur s0x0rs.
Blah. This thred is really random, has anyone noticed it? Not much going on…maybe I should bring up a really controversial topic, just to stir things up…or not.
Now the randomeness is rubbing off on me! Gaahhh!
Oh yes, nice artwork, I was sort of wondering what the enormous pink blob signified a few days ago…now I get it. Very clever, with the prequel/sequel and the references to Howard Pyle. May I just say that I love pirates? Again?
NaNo sounds veryvery hard. I’ve barely written 30 (computer) pages of some of my stories and I’ve had at least a year on most of them. Of course, this may have something to do with something with the fact that I’m working on like 50 stories right now…
Anyhoo…not much going on. By the way, this is my new name, although I’m still Elentari at heart.
just a heads up: C++DM is writin’ a dictionary of all of his terms. l’m writing one too, called Diksha-what?. l’ve already posted an entry, which was completely ignored.
l’m having the unpleasent realization that l post a lot more than everyone else.
Oh good lord. Do you remember the problems E2MB was having with his parents?
do I post a lot?
127- I speak a tiny bit of Welsh. XD
Grant is now at the bottom of a deep well of pain and despair.
Do tell.
130- Yeah, I had that unpleasant realization a few months ago.
I remember the problems well. Why?
`Cus he’s completely gone!
135- yeah… I’d noticed that but there’s nothing that can be done.
I wouldn’t worry about posting too much. Even if I were inclined to agonize about that sort of thing, I have more important things to think about. For instance:
1. The flute choir/theater production rehearsal conundrum. Theater rehearsal is Mon-Thurs from 6 to 8:30. Flute choir rehearsal is on Wednesday. I can’t miss more than 3 theater rehearsals or I’ll get booted out. I love flute choir and all the people there are my friends, but I also want to be in the theater production!
2. The usual, which has sent me to the bottom of said well of despair.
OH OH LOOK I GOT MY MUSE
137-I am so sorry!!!!
I am watching Mythbusters……Ya!!!
137-that sucks……
137-Depressing… very depressing…. *is depressed*
137- Ahg, not cool. Hmm… will you get punished for missing flute choir? And how big is the overlap? Would it be possible to go to part of each, to show that even though you can’t stay for the whole time you’re still commited?
135- Oh. Yeah. He made a farewell post, but I guess you didn’t see it . . . I’ll post a link.
https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=898#comment-308
That should work.
He came back a few times after that, but now he’s gone. It’s sad but I keep waiting for him to come back, because he can’t leave FOREVER.
So I guess I’m still stuck on denial, and I thought I’d passed into acceptance. Bother.
137- I hate that kind of thing. But sadly, I have no advice.
Hey Kagy, l had an idea. Could we make a comic book together? l have a short story l can’t get off the ground, and you’re a good cartoonist.
Jeezus, l am obsessed. Whenever l’m on the computer, l’m blogging, and whenever no one is posting, l hit refresh until l see a post other than my own.
145-hehe. I know what you mean. I do that quite frequently. Though, I sometimes do a few other things.
Beavo, what’s wrong? Do you want to talk about it?
Oh dear, that is a bit of a dilemma, Grant me boy. I think it’s time for you to make a choice. I don’t see anything else to do.
*sigh* Gwen’s having some problems of her own right now… nothing serious, mind, but enough to cause her some major distress.
Grant has found out some good news. The flute choir/theater problem is no longer a problem. So now there’s just the usual.
145- Yay! Someone else! *welcomes Ag into the circle of Obsession and Refreshing*
Everyone has problems. I alone feel like a little island of cheer.
Oh wait. I have problems too.
148 ~ That’s good. I have those type of problems all the time and it’s such a relief when they work out! And forgive me for being so out of the loop, but…the usual?
That sort of dilemma is my life. Glad it’s resolved, Grant!
My next comment will be posted under a previous pseudonym.
148- Sorry for da naiveness, but wot’s the usual?
149- *Thumbs up*
Do l detect a lack of moderation?
l do, and being the only one on, am the first one to notice the change to recent comments.
Is that so…?
All your base are belong to us!
Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha!
I apologize for that. As soon as I posted that my Internet began to run as slow as George Bush’s thoughts. I’m posting under a pseudonym so that it can never be proven that I actually said this.
The usual is my problem relating to email and the lady I fancy. I emailed her on August 30, and still have not received a reply. This makes me depressed, but I’m hoping there’s some reason for it, like she doesn’t have Internet access.
*the HAWK comes in late again-scoffscoff*
I love the picture! Especially since I’m on a ship right now! Although I wouldn’t walk good bunnies off the plank!
Yesterday we discovered that our computer printer was full of black ink. Somehow at least an entire cartridge drained into the bottom of it, and ruined the printer. We aren’t sure if the cartridge or printer is to blame for letting loose the ink.
The Black-tailed HAWK (from ink)
157- And Who’s Here isn’t proof?
Oh never mind.
I thought it might have something to do with that.
158- Where hast thou been, good FALCON?
159- Sssshhh! I’m hoping that whoever might seek to spread information about me will not notice that. Besides, do you know how many names there are on that page? Hundreds! I hardly think they’d bother. Unless they’re malicious backstabbers who stop at nothing.
I’m considering going to make another CD. This one would be a rock n roll mix. Heavy rock.
MB seems to have lost a lot of people since the last time I was posting. I remember when we’d have 7 random threads in one month. We need to keep it alive!
161 ~ We have lost some very notable people but a lot of equally notable people are technically still here, just busy with school. And some others who are just as notable don’t seem to be that busy despite having started school.
145-I used to do that. I don’t anymore, because I’m busy (well, not really) but anyway….
147-I wasn’t then, I was being sympathetic with Grant, but I am now. *runs off to the R&R thread to rant about it*
148-Yay!
lifewithoutanipod, September tends to be a quiet month when everyone starts back to school. If historical trends continue, things should pick up in October.
As for random threads, this summer we decided to limit their number to 3 per month. Four times before that we racked up 5 random threads in a month — October 2006, March 2006, April 2006, April 2007.
145- don’t all of us?
I guess September is slow…
I left because it was getting to crowded, so I’m probably judging based on the busiest time.
137- awww poor Grant O. on the plus side. flute rocks. me plays the flute.
144- i’d love to. like, you writing it and me drawing it? that sounds good. the only problem would be if you wanted me to send you stuff because there is no way in this world my parents will EVER let me give my e-mail to a complete stranger over the internet. so post the story idea and character descriptions and stuff on the writing or short stories thread, which ever.
158- check out my comic on the “talk like a pirate day” thread. please! ! ! ! ! ! !
137. that’s funny, i do flute and choir and i like to do musicals…that’s really weird…..
167-I play flute, and I hate it. Oh, well.
meh no one posting. me bored…….
i should probably do homework but i hate homework and love MB. this is unhealthy. i think my brain is messed up froma ll the time i spend on museblog. i joined the japenese club. yay. i get to learn japenese. ohaiyo gozaimasu! ohayo gozaimasu, summimasen, tokei-o motte imasu-ka. ie. sumimasen, arigato gozaimase. Sayonara. Sayonara. ichi ni san yon go roku shichi hachi kyuu juu juuichi juuni juusan nuushi juugo juuroku juushichi juuhachi juu ku nijuu nijuuichi nijuuni nijuusan nijuushi nijuugo nijuuroku nijuushichi nijuuhachi nijuuku sanjuu. alalalalalal gonna be fined vitual choklit from the popopos for a popo. lalalalalala. sumimasen. kudasai do not pie me. oshiete kudasai. soo desu. hmm…. to do or not to do (more random japenese) that is the question. *goes to check if anyone but herself has posted*
169- ouch.
uh… 170 was me. no one really goes on the alter ego thread so i’ll just tell you all right now.
167- l was thinking we could work through the GAPAs.
I played flute in third grade because I’d always wanted to blahdiblahdiblah but then my teacher made me cry (he was really mean!) and I quit. Heh. I play cello and tuba now and I think they’re way better because I’m a smallish girl so everyone thinks I should play the flute, and then I show up with a big ol’ sousaphone. Fun fun. :D
I’m going to be waiting tables tomorrow night for Wiz Night at Perkins! I don’t get paid, but fifteen percent of the proceeds go to the musical to help fund it. Yaysers.
I’m trying to convince everyone that the spring musical should be Urinetown. I haven’t seen it meself, but it sounds hi-lar-ious.
Whoops! I forgot to change my name back.
175- Oh! Meant to get that album a while ago…
So, I was on the bus from rock climbing today, and I called someone retarded for some reason or another (prolly cus they were acting it), and this girl gets all annoyed. She starts going on about how it’s rude, and how it’s a big deal to her and everything.
Had I been less tired or something, I prolly would’ve come up with a better response than “uh. fine”
Then, not a minute after, she calls something gay. So I call her on it, and she’s like “oh, but retarded people don’t choose to be retarded. being gay is a choice
which realllllly struck home with me, I have a lot of friends who are gay, and I /know/ it’s not a choice. A couple people, including me, explain this to her that it is not a choice and she’s like “whatever, I wanna change the subject”
EEEERRRRGHHHH
(sorry for caps)
And I disagree, I don’t think it’s offensive to call people retarded. For one, it’s cus they actually are acting in a mentally deficient way. You call people gay to their face, it’s part of who they are, how they identify. Unless you’re really non-pc, you prolly don’t call retarded people retarded to their face, or to those around them. So there’s a distinction. Mentally deficient people aren’t really called retarded anymore, gay people are still called gay. Also, if I’m calling someone retarded, it’s cus they’re acting in a generalized retarded way- being stupid. Now unless [snipped for being inappropriately explicit –Rebecca] I doubt you’re acting very gay.
Also. Retarded: held back [held back mentally, anyone?]
Gay: happy
So, Musers, your opinions?
l would have tackled that girl. But l agree.
Heh. In MAD magazine, they spoofed the Amazing Race, and one of the couples was two burly gay construction workers. This was the dialogue:
“Sorry l’m late. My buddy here fell into a cement mixer, and l dived in to get him out.”
Host: “Sorry, you’re out.”
“You can’t kick us out `cause we’re gay!”
“No, but you’re not flamboyant gays. We need the audience to be able to confirm people’s predjudiceses.”
It’s google’s birthday. Party Party!
My internet has been down for a couple of days, but it’s up again!!!!
I really don’t have anything to say.
I think that since you weren’t insulting mentally deficient people in any way, and were using the word “retarded” as a synonym for stupid, it’s ok. I myself avoid any words that could result in people being offended. When talking about gay people, I use the word “homosexual,” as it’s correct and not offensive. If people want to construe it as being offensive, that’s their problem. I do, however, use the word “black.” Why? Because there’s nothing wrong with it. I call myself white, as do black people, so why should there be any difference? African American is a term that ought not to be used, because when it’s used, you’re basically making 2 assumptions: One, that the person is African (no, they couldn’t possibly be Jamaican, Haitian, etc) and two, that the person is American (they couldn’t be British, oh no). Those last comments were taken from a website, but I find them so true I can’t help but repeat them once in a while.
Re: E2MB- what were the problems w/ his parents?
177- Of course being gay isn’t a choice. Because who would choose to be part of a minority that is discriminated against? That girl sounds verry ignorant.
127-ooh, i know people who go to OU. our band has a similar style, so a lot of people go there for the band.
126-i used to read that for a while, then idk what happened…
ooh, but fellow scary go round fans, i finally finished the archives!!!
Sorry, I havnt posted, homework……….I swear I barely have any time at all anymore. I get home from school at about three thirty cause of traffic, and then I do homework, help mom with some little girls dance class, come home do homework eat dinner than go to my own class. I didnt get to practice piano at all, and I will sound aweful today, how embarassing. Gotta go……….
ohio? I think I know older people from camp that go there… music majors.
177-I aggree with you on the retarded comment. If someone’s acting mentally challenged, there’s no reason not to say so! If you’re called gay, and your not, that’s different. That’s just plain mean. That girl? I could have embalmed her alive. (I saw that on CSI: New York). By the way, what’s her addresss?
177- i agree completely. but retarded is just a mindless way of saying stupid. its uncreative, could easily be interpreteda s offensive, and most commonly used amongst fourth graders.
(no offense to fourth graders)
181-yep. totally agree.
177- youre wrong. it is wrong to call someone retarded. i’m not going to back my belief up with facts because i am REALY tired. but later i will prove you wrong. but that girl is WAAAAAAYYY outa line. both of you are wrong. end of story. my aunt has down syndrome but that doesn’t mean she isn’t smart. SHE IS EXTRODINARILY CARING,LOVING AND GENTLE! think about THAT next time you call someone retarded.
181- retarded isn’t a synonym for stupid.
183- i just finished the bit with the robotania or what ever it was, the city of robots.
186- most mentaly challenged people are waaaayyy better than the rest of us. don’t think that because someone is acting like an idiot that means they’re being reatarded.
this topic has made me kinda mad. i thought MBers were smarter than this.
I once saw a store called Cocoapelli chocolates.
172- okay. post the story outline and character descriptions on the writing thread. the i’ll do the character sketches and send them in. try to do that today or tomorrow, so i can work on the weekend. I don’t have a scanner but i can work around that. yay.
188- I agree with you. You shouldn’t call somebody retarded or gay. My brother is mentally challenged, and is friends with several other people who also are. I also know some gay people. Don’t use something that can offend someone. And that girl was right about calling somebody retarded being rude, but she shouldn’t have then been a hypocrite by using a term that was offensive to other people. You can cal people stupid, but don’t use retarded.
The Random Thread seems to have turned into Warm Topics. *uncomfortable*
Sorry I have’nt posted anything since either July or August. It’s been so long I don’t remember if this is the right user name.
177- You call somone retarted, big deal,it’s notlike you called them a swear, and then they just give you a a lecture on “how mean it is ” is just totally un called for!
When someone uses gay as a synonym for stupid, it is as if someone is standing and swinging a baseball bat around. They hit someone on the head, though they weren’t trying to cause anyone harm. Similarily, someone who uses gay as a synonym for stupid is associating being gay with being stupid and, whether they are trying to or not, hurting those around them’s feelings.
I love Little Shop of Horrors!!!! I was in it last year!
188- Eegh, where to start? “Back my beliefs up with facts”…beliefs are based on feelings, emotions, etc…not facts, though they can be influenced by them. And although people with Down Syndrome are typically kind, loving, and gentle, that’s not true for all disabilities. Lots of mental disabilities can make people more aggressive. How nice someone is, however, isn’t what we’re talking about. There are lots of nice and dumb people, and vice versa. And how, exactly, are mentally disabled people better?
And as for the low blow, MBers are smart, at least those that agree with me.
191- thank goodness SOMEONE agrees with me!
193- it is a big deal. swear words are stpid and everyone ignores them.
*suppresses her hatred of controversy* I’m going to ignore any comments that seem to be following this soon-to-be-absolutely-boiling thread.
Here goes.
We got our cats from [snip] yesterday. They were rather unhappy at first, but they seem to be adjusting well.
I’m too scared to leave a message at the employment office, so I guess I’ll just keep calling until someone human answers.
196-swear words merely emphasize things. I just don’t need ‘a use ’em.
I’M BACK!!!!!!
Hey all, I’m just back from Rendezvous, and I had a WONDERFUL WONDERFUL time. And I just too ka bath, so I’m all clean! My hair was so greasy that I swear it was water repellent….. Yuck.
Anyway, I’m sad to leave the EPR, glad to be back, and still humming the songs we played at the session last night. Joy, how often does one get to play music with one of their favorite bands? I did!! WWWWHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, but I’m rather hyper at the moment, though tired. I’ll read the other comments when I have a chance.
196- I agree with you! Why can’t people just use the word stupid when they mean the word stupid? Sheesh.
195- “And as for the low blow, MBers are smart, at least those that agree with me. :P” Oh yes, I almost forgot that you are one of those MBers who believe your own beliefs and feelings are more important than respect for other people’s. You need to realize that retarded is an offensive term, and not just a synonym for stupid. There’s something called maturity that many people in this world lack(not necessarily you) and it includes tolerance and respect.
188-Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t mean someone acting like an idiot. I meant someone acting like he/she had no control of their actions. For example: This guy in Health was running around the room while Mrs. (I think) Clark was out, and he was like “HehehehHAWHAWHAW hehe we’re in health! Health! Sex-ed! We get to learn about” and then said what we were going to learn about which is not a topic I wish to bring up on MuseBlog. Anyway, people were calling him a retard because he acted like he had no control of what he was doing, which is most people’s interpretation of mentally challenged people. Although that might be wrong.
191-I know many gay/bi people, and they’re not offended by homosexual, or bisexual, but gay really gets to them.
196-I really didn’t get what you meant when you said swears were stupid and ignores them (is that good or bad?) but I honestly don’t care if anyone uses a swear word, (and personally, I don’t get the whole “swear” thing) and with a mother like mine, it’s really hard not to get into the habit.
195- “And how, exactly, are mentally disabled people better?” EQUAL rights not special rights. It’s not a case of being better but a case of being treated equally, of treating everyone with respect.
202- “I know many gay/bi people, and they’re not offended by homosexual, or bisexual, but gay really gets to them.” Why? I’m bi and “gay” only offends me when it is used improperly to imply stupid. If someone uses it to mean homosexual or joyous I don’t mind.
191- I’ve worked with mentally challenged kids, I have a few friends with mild autism, and I have relatives with more severe mental disorders. I can call people whatever I want, but we’re talking about what people should or shouldn’t say.
I have more to say, but it’s dinner time.
199- Welcome back! I missed you!
PEOPLE! Take it to Hot Topics! Some of us don’t like to read this kind of thing!
I’ve got over my big “HT shouldn’t even exist, blah blah blah” thing, and I just stay off the thread now, but I do stay off the thread. I don’t want to read this. I suppose I could just quit the random thread in the first place, like I used to, but I kind of like it, you know?
Midnight Fiddler’s post is the only one since mine that doesn’t belong on a thread I wouldn’t visit.
This is kind of random, but I just figured out a way to see if your presence has made an impact on the blog. Put your blog name into the search box. If at least one thread comes up, you’ve probably influenced something.
206- I do that all the time. I just like seeing my name typed out. {/vain}
I apologize if I offended anyone. I myself do not call people retarded, as my father was on the Mental Health Board for quite some time. I’d like to point out that I said people use it as a synonym for stupid, not that it is one.
I dislike it when people use swear words to make their point. Like this moronic little Internet cartoon squirrel thinks swearing makes him clever. I use swear words when I feel strongly about something, but they don’t make up my entire argument. My point of view actually has substance rather than smut.
re: swearing
I used to not swear. Now I’m in high school and surrounded by that kind of thing. It no longer bothers me to hear other people, unless it’s excessive. I don’t swear unless I’m agitated in some way enough to not censor my thoughts or not care (such examples as: I just fell. At a competition. or: It’s been a long day. I want my peers to realize they shouldn’t bug me at all). Which is maybe once or twice ever but will probably be a little more often now. I don’t ever among people whom it makes uncomfortable or people I want to impress or teachers. </explanation>
206- I get 10 threads as result for my name. Plus I remember my 5K announcement but it was deleted and wasn’t in the search.
203-Exactly. When someone says something like “Joe’s GAY” because he’s asking everyone in science whether they like chicken, they get offended because someone’s comparing them to someone who’s acting totally insane, not gay. But when they say “Are you gay” in a nice voice, they’re fine. I didn’t know you were bi! I got sidetracked at the R&R thread when that discussion was going on.
205-I’m sorry, Alice, I thought you would just skip over these posts. I aggree though, why don’t we all take this to Hot Topics? Comments, please.
207-*is guilty* I’m on most of the Favorite Threads threads. No fun.
208-That’s like me. I think I swear a bit more than you, but I’m not like my mom, who bases a whole argument/lecture with swears. You should have heard her when she found out about my iPod…. (bleep! i cant bleep belive that you bleeping bleeped that bleeping piece of bleep! I bleeping well know about how bleeping you bleeping bleep, so you should be bleeping happy that I bleeping bleep bleep!!!!)
I’m gonna post after this to see how many results my name pulls up…
Okay… four Don’t Forget These Threads, MuseBlog generations, and MusBlog signature list. Not anything interisting
ooh, that makes me feel special, unlike google which is rather depressing and says i sell quilts. i got 21 threads, but only 10 of those actually have my name in the title or description. i don’t remember exactly but i think about 7 were a result of me begging for something an excuse to thank the GAPAs, yay! thank you!
the buses for our game tomorrow leave at 5:45 for a 7:30 game, which we’re planning to be at by 7:10 or 7:15. Farthest game we go to. i plan to sleep
we did a cool thing in english, where we had to think of songs about freedom. i got to go first, result of which leeny and lisa both glared at me from across the room because i took it’s my life by bon jovi (leeny’s) and my life by billy joel (lisa’s) i’m thinking of making a “random rebellion” playlist for fun rebellious songs
Wow I was cleaning out my bookmarks and I found this. I haven’t been on here in forever, does anyone still remember me?
(btw, I’m not coming back to museblog or anything, just checking in)
I’m actually canceling my subscription of muse (hears horrified gasps- sorry guys!). I think it’s gone down a lot recently, and that it just hasn’t been a good magazine anymore.
Are there still pie wars? haha, wow I feel really old now.
I get 5 threads, 2 of which are from before I came. flamablamalous.
213- I remember you! you’re not coming back?
I only started subscribing nov/dec 06. I feel new.
Well, good night everyone! Hope to see you next afternoon!
213-wait. You’re leaving? Oh! I know! Dang, I never really talked to you much on MB. Oh well. Too bad you stopped Muse. If you have any extras, send them to me[/joke]. Bye.
hmmm. 4 things pop up when I search my name. And 2 of them aren’t mine…*sighs*.
9, 2 of wtich are before I came.
219-woah. That’s a lot. 7 threads. Do they all say specifically ‘The man for Aeiou’ or ‘TMFA’, or just Aeiou? ‘Cuz then they’re not your threads, right?
l got 149.
201- And I almost forgot you’re one of those MBers who can’t take a joke.
213- Yeah, I remember you. Bummer you’re leaving…
As for swearing- Heh, yeah, I swear. Sometimes in jest, sometimes seriously. I don’t really see a problem with it.
2 threads.
213 (Brave Sir Robin) – I remember you! Shana, right? (maybe not). Cancel subscription to Muse??? GASP!!
GAPAs, l’d like to point out that Gimanator’s name is spelled three ways on who’s here. lt’s pronounced gim|an|a|tor, not Ji|am|an|tor or gim|an|tor.
We listed the variant spellings because he has posted under all those names, probably because of typographical errors.
That makes sense.
*Sigh* l heard all this talk about CTY, so l looked it up. The nearest one to me is in LA. For the information of all non-californians, just because it’s in the same state doesn’t mean it’s not rilly far away.
226- And the nearest CTY site to me is in Pennsylvania, and I live NH.
227-Same. New Hampshire is, without a doubt, the most boring place on Earth.
AWESOME PICTURE!!!
(229) Thanks, E2MB. Good to see you!
229- Hey, you’re back!!
I got a brouchure for CTY the other day in GT. It looks fun….
229-Where were you? Welcome back! *pies*
CTY is the most awesome summer camp possible!!! A lot of people at CTY would fit right in here on MB, to give you an idea of what the people are like. Go to the CTY thread for more info, and also you should check out realcty. org ,if you are really interested in CTY.
229- Yay! You seem to have returned.
233- I’m probably going this summer. Taking the SAT Dec. 1st… I don’t know what course I might take, though. Math or science, most likely.
agagabagabag- do you still want to make the comic?
everyone else- sorry if i don’t back my arguments up verry well. i don’t word things very well. it all makes sense when it’s in my head but it gets skewed when i type. but my opinions are my opinions and in his case i believe very strongly that i’m right. i’m just not going to argue any more because it saps my energy. and i don’t have a lot of that anyways.
220- they were all birthday and “don’t forget this theard” theards.
eeeew, warm Topics. I prefer my Topics cooled.
I got a new iPod! It’s a blue new Nano!
Hm. Well, I think you shouldn’t use “retarded” as derogatory term. They can’t help the way they are. You also shouldn’t call people “gay” to imply negative qualities, for the same reason. I also agree with the whole “white-black” thing. Suppose you meet a black person on vacation in the United States (not knowing this beforehand) and somehow get into a conversation involving ethnicity. You shouldn’t call them “African-American”. They could be from Canada, but originally hail from Australia. “African-American” is too specific a term to be applied to every black person you meet. Therefore, it should be considered useless.
“Latin-American” and “Asian-American” are pretty useless terms, too, for reasons akin to those described in the last paragraph. It’s pretty safe saying someone is of Asian descent if they look it, but that does not mean they are American by nationality. Latin-American is trickier, though, as the people society refers to as such may come from Central or South America. “Hispanic” is just weird, as it translates to literally mean “from out of Spain” (I think), and they’re not all descended from Spaniards.
229- *hugs* *pies* *chocolate* I don’t know whether you’re back for good or just sneaking a minute on a school computer, but hi anyways.
175- Oooh, the town near me did that last year. They were really, really good; it’s a big school so there’s quite a few very talented actors. It was definatly fun to watch, so I say go for it.
209- Yeah, after entering highschool I found actual uses for strong expressions. I still don’t swear a lot, and normmaly under my breath, but sometimes I do because it has an impact, because I don’t normally swear. But after a long day or when people are being really ignorant…
I just called off work for tomorrow, probably causing all sorts of problems for T**** Country Club. I’m not sorry at all. Hey, it’s going down anyway, and it probably doesn’t need me as an extra strain on its stretched assets. Plus, I’m really tired this week, I want to play football tomorrow with my friends, and I’m suffering from a severe case of whogivesa****.
hey E2MB ur back!!!
Ahh… the weekend. Tomorrow I can either get up or stay in bed longer. I have a choice. *muses and ponders* Such a beautiful thing…
Hmm, well, nothing really is happening right now. It’s supposed to be FALL and its 93 DEGREES!!! I wish it would cool of into some autumn-y weather.
I’m sorry for being totally off-topic, and the double post that will happen after I submit this and read the comments here. I need to grok what just happened, I need to write…
Marching band played at homecoming today.
I got there a little before 5:30, we practiced in the gym awhile and talked and it was kind of fun. My shako broke again and the plume was flopping around, it required more tape.
We went out to the field, the new turf one, I don’t know when. It was cold enough to make wearing the full uniform be just slightly cool, it was perfect temperature. The game was delayed 30 minutes for thunder but it never rained. We went out, waited in a tunnel form for ages at standby while some athletic coordinator droned on about dedicating the brand new field (no exaggeration. His voice sounded exactly like the stereotypical boring lecturer and he would pause between saying things, which made him easier to understand but made us wait forever), then waited another eon at attention(do they not realize that we have been standing waiting for them and that instruments are heavy? Attention is holding the trombone perpendicular to the ground and up so the top of the slide is at eye level, it hurts after a minute), then (horns up)played the fight song as the football team ran through our tunnel thingy, then (horns down, at attention)walked to the center of the field and (horns up)played the anthem(to attention), then walked off and to a set of bleachers beyond one end zone. I was in the top row , seated with the other low brass, between Brian(I’m sure I mentioned him sometime…my year, freakishly good…remember? we were the only trombonists last year…) and Kristen (senior). then we waited awhile. The other team scored a touchdown, but missed the extra point. The football hit a bass drum but didn’t injure it. Scary sitting behind the end zone… Then we played the show after some cheerleader thing at halftime. The crowd was a football crowd, not a marching band crowd. I think they had no idea what they were supposed to think of us. They cheered loudly after each part. I didn’t mess up too badly, although with some of the newly added (as of Thursday) dance walking I was somewhat halfhearted. Then we went back to bleachers. This time I was in the second row down, near Charlie and Vinayak and Brian and Katie (note the lack of particular order) and we all talked and laughed through the game and ’twas fun. At some point the teams switched end zones. Then our team scored a touchdown, and the extra point too. And they were right near us (a drummer caught the ball) and everyone was screaming at the top of their lungs because there was only about a minute and a half left in the game and we neverwin. So we played the fight song again and then again after the end(we’d been playing random stand music after the quarters) and talked more and marched back to the other side of the school and the music wing and put everything away and left. We won the game 7-6, and it’s the only time I’ve ever really cared about a sport. The way I just described that sounds anticlimactic. But really, it wasn’t. Have you ever been so happy that all you can do to express it is scream? That’s exactly what it was. It was amazing, and right now I feel like I’d be happy to do another week of band camp just for that again.
I’m really tired and fatigued. I really ought to go to bed, but I’m not going to because I’m not thinking clearly. I’m not thinking clearly because I’m extremely tired. I really ought to go to bed, but I’m not going to because I’m not thinking clearly. I’m not thinking clearly because I’m extremely tired. I really ought to go to bed, but…..
177- no because you’re suggesting being “retarded” is bad
it’s not
241) we’ve got the same affliction then, it seems.
245- You’re right. You need to go to bed.
That reminds me of a fortuneately/unfortunately story. Those are sort of fun, but they get tedious.
I think I have too much free time this weekend. Waaaay too much. I also have enough work to balance it out.
244-I was driving (okay, riding in a car) through Westmont a while ago and there was a marching band practicing in a football field. It made me think of MB.
gee. I wish I had something to post…
by the way, Alice. I’m waiting for your next generations chart, we’re on what-16, 17?
250- I’m afraid I’ve sort of been neglecting that. I will do it eventually, biut not for a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. I’m sort of busy. Maybe around Christmas break.
So, my English teacher is pretty cool. His room is filled with action figures, he listens to metal, he assigned Moby Dick last year but didn’t for us, he has a Mark Twain quote of the day on his board, and every day he throws the roll out the door from his seat at the podium in the middle of the room, and usually misses horribly. Anyway, he’s a really good teacher. Lately we’ve been discussing the Puritan New England, Salem witch hunts, watching the Crucible, reading old sermons of New England preachers, looking at primers, etc, going along with reading The Scarlet Letter. Oh, and one thing I forgot to mention: He’s lousy at grading papers in a short amount of time. The average assignment we get back about a month after we turned it in, at the shortest.
WARNING: IN FOLLOWING STORY, ALL NAMES CHANGED TO PROTECT IDENTITIES. OR JUST BECAUSE I FELT LIKE IT.
So anyway, on Wednesday, we come in, all noisy and boisterous and talking/shouting across the room as usual. A few of us say hi or smile at Mr. Teacher (alias), which he pretty much ignores, but sometimes he can’t hear us/isn’t looking at us, so we don’t really think that much about it. Then he gets up, walks to the door, PLACES the role outside instead of throwing it, and slams the door shut.
The room gets completely silent. I think we’re basically all staring in shock at him. He sits down again at his podium and says, “Look at the Twain quote of the day.” It’s something about how lies are more often with acts than with words. We look at him, and he’s sitting there completely serious, not joking at all, and I’m pretty sure we share a common thought: “Oh crap.” He’s like, again, sort of quietly, “So what do you think that means? [silence] [one of the kids who went to the bathroom walks in, looks around, scuttles quickly to his seat.] No one knows what it means? [silence]. Fred?”
Fred mumbles something about how people can lie more with their actions than they do with their words. Mr. Teacher is like, “Anyone else? [silence (by the way, we have a very talkative class; this silence was extremely unusual].” He waits a bit. “So, I have your [assignment] graded. And some of them were damn – sorry – close to each other. I guess it’s because I didn’t make you turn the assignent in to turn-it-in.com, and I expect a lot from my AP students, but I also give you a lot of freedom. [He continues in this manner a little,] Does anyone have anything they’d like to say?”
As he’s speaking, he’s looking around the room, and we’re all sitting there pretty much in shock thinking “Don’t look at me, don’t look at me.” It was pretty scary – I’d never seen him that serious/disappointed. Anyway, George raises his hand.
“Are you talking about some students having, like, the same ideas or concepts, or are you talking about like word for word?”
Mr. Teacher is like, “This was word- for – word. There’s no question about it. I have the papers back in that corner. Does anyone else have anything they’d like to add? Comments? [Silence] Alex, what about you?”
Alex kind of jumps and stammers something indecipherable.
Mr. Teacher: “Nothing? Anyone else? Fred, what about you?”
Fred: Sir?
Mr. Teacher: Well?
Fred: Sir, I didn’t do anything wrong. I didn’t copy or cheat off of anyone, sir, I promise. I spent two hours on that paper, sir. [silence] I _didn’t_ cheat, sir.
Mr. Teacher: Well, I’ve got the papers to prove it. See me after class.
Fred: Yes, sir.
Mr. Teacher: Alex? Anything to say now? [“Alex” shakes his head.] Anyone else? Or should I go on calling out names? [silence]
Smith? Sally? What about you? I know your mother [Mrs. Smith teaches also at the high school], should I talk to her?”
“Sally” just kind of sits there (she sits right in front of me), shaking her head a little, basically in shock. She looks like she’s almost about to cry. We’ve been sitting there for maybe five, ten minutes (it feels like eternity), in complete silence. Then, Mr. Teacher smiles, adn the class is like “ohhhhhh”, because suddenly everyone makes the connection between what we’ve been talking about – the Salem witch trials – and what Mr. Teacher is doing. Anyway, we spend the rest of the period discussing it, we spend the rest of the next two periods discussing it, and we spend after school discussing it also. Basically, it was really scary, but it’s also really cool to think about now..
(The day before, he had mentioned he’d give us back the assignment the next day, and Fred had asked how they were and he was like “Well, – [pause] – I don’t want to talk about it right now, we’ll discuss it tomorrow.”)
(apparently he’s done this for the last three years, and in the three years, roughly three classes, 90 kids each year, ONE person has spoken up in defense of someone he’s accused of cheating.)
(oh, and he also forgot to give us back our assignment that day).
252- Whoa. Intense. But interesting nonetheless.
251-eh. ok.
252-hey! Witch trials! That’s what my class is doing.
253- yeah, he said afterwards that he picks the people he accuses very carefully – he tries to avoid both people who he think would start to cry and people who he thinks might get up and try to attack him.
We’re doing Witch Trials, too. Quite interesting.
213-aww, nooo! come back, and don’t cancel muse! We’ll pie the editors for you if you want!
244-yess, the marching band scream…the hurting throat every saturday…i hear you
of course, we scream and dance whether our team wins or not. (they didn’t yesterday, but we rocked so hard. actually not really, it was kind of bad but not as horrible as we thought it would be) There was SO much sugar around. The other band, (they’re one of the really cool bands that we’re basically all best friends with, them and sniphall (except we’re all really jealous of sniphall because they’re reeally good)) brought us cookies and tootsie roll pops. hyyyper!
252-that is brilliant. your teacher is officially my best friend. that’s great a bit evil, but extremely amusing
186–finally, an interesting non-random topic. I think that if you’re using “retarded” as a synonym for stupid, then it is offensive, although I do admit that I use that term in that way. I don’t think that gay is offensive, because it /is/ mostly a choice–even if you are gay and don’t like girls at all, you can choose to not get involved with guys like that. And I agree, most mentally retarded people are only that way outwardly/socially, with some crazy genius abilities hidden behind their appearance. Rain man, anyone?
Yeah so that’s that. Nothing much interesting…except that I can’t seem to get under twenty two minutes in cross-country. I’m in horrible shape this year. Ick. AND I got 25 minutes in a race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW CAN THIS BE???!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worst time I’ve ever gotten. Bleah bleah bleah. May I go hide somewhere? Like under a rock?
It doesn’t help that my crush is on the team and he runs varsity. His time was more like sixteen something. That’s almost TEN MINUTES FASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok. End of rant. Sorry to all the non-cross-country runners, this probably makes no sense.
O by the by (sorry for the double post) I know its not October yet but I am so excited about Halloween that I really want to talk about it. Can we? Please please?
To start it off: I am going to be Dorothy from WoO this year. And wear a…STORE BOUGHT COSTUME! GASP! And strappy red heels. SO excited.
Look this is Dracula:——–.v.

Darn it. The teeth are supposed to be under the eyes and widow’s peak.
[Unfortunately, spacing changes in transit from submission to post. But an amiable Blog Gnome happened by and made the adjustment. –Rebecca]
no one likes meeeeeee
WaWsOmE!! I had a birthday party last night and we made cupcakes!! mmmm. Mine had choklit sprinklies.
I got earrings from Sara, a hand-made stuffed dragon from Julia, and a used book and a used stuffed animal from Molly.
AND I GOT AN IPOD FROM GRAMMY
♥
(259) I’ve just started a new Halloween thread.
(261) Congratulations, Kiki! But your actual birthday isn’t until Monday, am I right?
252-Your teacher is eville.
257- Ah yes, the MB Sore Throat. Every Saturday morning, I was afflicted with a less common phenomenon, the MB Bleeding Out of the Ears. (Not literally, although quite close.) This was due to being the only guy in the flute section, and not used to dozens of shrill voices screaming all around me. Oh god, am I glad to be rid of that.
264-Oh, God. Me too. I hate being the only guy in the flute section. No, the only guy flute player in the SEVENTH GRADE at my school. Sux, dosn’t it? I’m so quitting next year. Some people would say being the only guy in a class would be a plus, but not with the girls I got. Half are creepy, and the other half treat me as a peice of slime that they would honestly want never see again.
Are we all in the same grade? COnfused?
266- No, there are people here all the way from fourth or fifth grade through senior year of high school. I’m in ninth grade(first year of high school where I live). I believe Grant is on the older end of the spectrum. Maybe a senior? He was posting about driving lessons last summer, if I recall correctly.
257- In all two football games, we haven’t seen the other team’s band ever if one existed. At this one, there was what sounded like one trumpet occasionally playing a fanfare or something. It was kind of funny. We could have crushed him(her?) into the dust.
252- Ooh, I predicted the conection, but that would be scary. You teacher sounds amazing. Wha do you mean by he throws a roll out the door though? At the beginning I was thinking ‘dinner roll’ but I don’t think that’s quite right.
255- Heh, he porbably wouldn’t have picked me then. I’m a shamefully easy cryer… *hides head*
264- Ah, yeah, there’s a guy flute coming in next year. He’ll likely have the same problem, but we didn’t yell at all this year really. I think it’s cause we’re stuck out on the track by the goalposts instead of in our specal bleachers (they were torn down). Perhaps next year we can start again Glad to be rid of it? And Beavo’s quiting? Aww… but flute rocks…
Yeah, around here the bands don’t travel with the team. We just play home games.
So, on the band topic, our homecoming was today! Here comes the ebeth-like rant c+q also has been using.
Got up around 7, ate, hung around house till about 8:10 when I grabbed my stuff and got in the car to go to the school to warm up for the parade. Got there, got dressed in band uniform though I could have just marched in the tennis sweatshirt and pants I came in because it’s a school sport. But I decided to be cool and wear the uniform.
Anyway, get there, Jess and Sarah come in and me and a few other flutes run over to them to ask (oh my god I dindn’t get a chance to tell you all yesterday, Caitlin (who is was pregnant) started having contractions! Ahh!)how Caitlin was doing; they stayed with her pretty much all night. She had her baby, he’s really cute (they had pics on Jess’s camera) and has an awesome name: Dante Alistair(/Alister/Alisdair, not sure on spelling) coollastname-coollastname. Anyway, back to band.
Get in uniforms, go outside and march the parade. This wasn’t very interesting, actually, it only took us about a half hour to go through the parade, 30 minutes less than we expected. The cadences are the only cool part as fight song isn’t that interesting (It’s actually just ‘On Wisconsin.’ We stole it from them.) Flutes have to memorize it even though we have the hardest part, because the flip folders don’t look that great.
The cadences are fun though. In Tom’s cadence theres a part where we make a sort of “Whoop whoop” noise, only less lame.
Around 10, after going inside and changing and all that (we had 2 hours untill we had to be back to play for the game), me and L were starting to head to the coffee shop on main street and ran into her boyfriend and one of his friends outside of the school. Then Feather called and so she was going to come with us too, except she had to run back into the school to get something but ended up getting there before us XD SO after a while we finally get to the coffee place, and are totally random and hyper for a while, then D came! She transfered to a different school last year, and was going to meet us, but then had a dentist apointment today so we wern’t sure she’d make it. So then there was more randomness.
Also in the coffee shop were an elderly couple, and after they finished and started to leave the gentleman patted Z on the shoulder and whispered to him and D (the only guys there, the rest (Me, L, D, JB, Feather, Jenna, and earlier Mel) “Enjoy it while you can, these are the best odd’s you two will ever have.” I didn’t catch it when he said it, but after JB and L stopped cracking up on the table and could breathe again I fell to the afliction. They were sort of like “What?!” After he said that. It was really, really funny.
Then around 11:20 we headed bac to the school to get ready for the game, not much interesting thigs happened. We played pre-game, I messed up which yard line I was supposed to stop on becasue I’d thought I’d gone to far D: . But it turned out okay…
Halftime went well also, Elenor Rigby was the opener and after that we played When I’m 64. We also have music for Can’t Buy Me Love/agical Mystery Tour, but we havn’t had a single chance to earn the drill so we didn’t do either.
I’m sure something interesting happened durring the game somewhere, but it doesn’t come to mind right now. Oh, I got sunburned, and we ended up winning. Forgot about that bit XD
Anyway, the dance is tonight. I’ll likely spend it sitting at a table talking to Cathy who’s not exctly thrilled about going either. Meh.
267-no, I know that. I meant all the people learning about witch trials; same subject, same grade, I’m guessing.
I just got back from a Robin Hood party at my friend’s house. That was almost ten hours of Robin Hood! We watched the thirteen episodes spread out between yesterday and today. I think I don’t ever want to watch TV again. And I’m sure I’ll be totally back to liking TV before I know it…
268 – roll as in attendence sheet thingy; don’t remember at the moment what it’s called – am tired. But yeah. it was scary and awesome. And none of us guessed – he was really good at the whole teacher-I’m-so-disappointed-in-you manner and everything.
258- But, see, even if being gay is a choice, which I don’t think it is as I don’t remember choosing to be bi, it is still offensive to hear oneself basically be called stupid. It doesn’t matter what your opinion on homosexuality is only a respect for everyone. By implying that someone is stupid, you are not respecting them
Re: Cross country. Hopefully do better soon! Don’t worry in my last meet I only got twenty three ish (we’re actually not sure because they created the course right before we raced (…) and it turned out to be off…. Eh heh.
252- It’s almost scary that only one person has spoken up in all three years. He sounds like a great teacher!
lol thx Rebecca, that’s how it’s supposed to look.
Kiki–I just got a Sansa! Now we can both be happy
Except the Nano is probably prettier, mine’s just black. But the spin wheel lights up. I danced around the house with it when I got it.
268-Correction, I HOPE (oh, I really do) to quit, but not if my mother can help it. Which she probably will, until I’m like, twenty.
GAPAs, did anyone ever make a map of Musiverse? I need it, if so.
272 – and he wasn’t exactly accusing the borderline students – all the students he named are the live-for-English-class, spend-all-period-discussing-whatever-we’re-discussing type.
276- What else would you discuss?
GAPA’s, I just finished editing a game called Mostly Harmless: The Game of Pies, Hot Pink Bunnies, and World Domination. Can I send it for you guys to post?
277- well, then there’s also the people who just kind of sit there..
Umm… yeah, I’m pretty sure that was moderated by a GAPA. How about an answer from whoever moderated that?
(278) You’re free to send us anything you like, but we can’t be sure it’s postable until we’ve seen it. gapa @ musefanpage.com.
281-Thanks Robert. I think you’ll like it, even if you don’t post it.
(275) I haven’t seen a map, so I assume nobody has made one yet.
*sings* I sennnnt itttt!
283- The Musiverse is too multifaceted- history changes at a whim, metaphysics are subject to alteration without notice, and don’t even get me started on geography. Just as you think you’ve finally edited it down to consistency, a new continent pops up.
But, come to think of it, I could make a map, at that. Just don’t expect me to keep it up to date.
You make games? Did you get it, MAPs?
I am a senior. Next year I will be a freshman and happy to have escaped from the hell that is High School.
I rather hurt. I’ve been shot point-blank with an airsoft gun at least 13 times today. I have welts on my right arm, my back, and my chest. Doesn’t the term “airsoft” imply that it oughtn’t to hurt?
Get this: I’m playing airsoft for the first time at my friend’s house. I’m hiding behind a car. My other, less cool, friend, comes around the car with an automatic weapon and shoots me point-blank a number of times after I freak out and ask him not to. After writhing in pain for about 30 seconds, I become angry and fly into a rage, attempting to take his gun away. He shoots me some more. If I’m angry because he’s been shooting me, wouldn’t it logically follow to not shoot me?
AGH SUNDAY SCHOOL RUN AWAAAAY!
no seriously, I should think about running away. Sunday school is the root of all evil. Lucky Buddhists…
POLL:
What is your favorite song RIGHT NOW and what was it before this one?
288- Re: POLL: My favorite song right now is a tie between Rock Star by Nickelback and Thanks for the Memories by Fall Out Boy.
(288) POLL: Mine is “Shenandoah” by Anaïs Mitchell. Before that, it was “Of a Friday Night” by Anaïs Mitchell.
288-Hmm… tough… probably Dance Floor Anthem by Good Charlotte preceded by Hey Mama by the Black Eyed Peas.
I was looking around, and I got the idea to find my first thread, and it turns out that Sweet Melpomene was the first MBer to pie me ever! *pies SM* And it was emogrl who sent a letter in to Muse and was my inspiration to come here in the first place, so pies to her too. *pies*
289-Both very good songs!! I have them on my site.
288- current: Birdhouse In Your Soul, They Might Be Giants
previous: Your Horoscope For Today, “Weird Al” Yankovic
270- I had a stage combat teacher who was in Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
288- One…song…? Wow… okay….I guess it could be 30/90 from tick…tick…BOOM!
Or Rocketship by Shiny Toy Guns
And of course there’s always Christmas Bells from Rent, which I haven’t listened to since I got my new iPod cus of cross-overness.
Favourite song? Changes about every three days to every three weeks or any time I happen to find out about a new artist/band/musical group. Maybe something by Weird Al? Previously Dragostea din tea or something.
My spell check has started speaking with a British accent. Odd.
I have ha non-pollish question. How does one spike one’s hair into a fauxhawk? I need advise. My current attempt has a bad case of flophawk.
don’t know if I should post it here of the sug’ box, so I’ll post it at both places!
the next random therd should be october odd-yssey.
Grant wants a better chair for his office (read: his closet. Where his desk is now.) Grant is sore, tired, and sad. Grant’s back has lots of small bruises from airsoft pellets. Grant is hungry. Grant is done complaining.
288- Erm . . . it changes. Right now I have something by Andrew Bird’s Bowl of Fire stuck in my head, and before that I had–amazing coincidence!– something else by Andrew Bird’s Bowl of Fire stuck in my head. And before that, I had The Ash Grove stuck in my head.
I am wet.
The house is suddenly very smelly. I wonder if it would have anything to do with cats…?
I met the mother of a kid in my acting class today, and she is also the mother of Opal’s best friend. O.O
I wrote a program today on my TI-83+ to use the quadratic formula for me because I was bored and I know it anyway and the math homework was repetitive. It’s quite useful, but I would suggest memorizing the formula too.
:Prompt A,B,C
:((-B+√(B²–4AC))/(2A))→D
:((-B–√(B²–4AC))/(2A))→E
:Disp “POSITIVE ROOT:”,D
:Disp “NEGATIVE ROOT:”,E
264-ouch! i feel for you. i have some friends in the flute section, and i try to stay as far away as possible from them when they’re screaming. being a girl trumpet, i have the opposite-a chance to exercise my “manly-voice” and my “mind-in-gutter” skillz. it’s actually pretty fun, when you get over how obnoxious everybody is.
261-i like yooooouu!
268-i know of a guy named dante. he’s one of those “kind of friends with your friends but kind of fringe friends with your fringe friends so not really someobdy you hang out with” people.
ooh, our fight song is on wisconsin too! go us!
and HAHAHA (about the old people in the coffee shop) that is hilarious. the funniest part is that i could totally see that happening with some of my friends (we also have girls outnumbering boys and rather outspoken old people :D)
287-oww, way not cool. i wouldn’t be friends with him. he must have been pretty close, right? that would hurt
288-well, right now i’m listening to iron man by ozzy, but i think my fav song at the moment would have to be either the pina colada song by…somebody or imagine by john lennon. Before that…idk, mebbe i can’t drive 55 by somebody else. (yes, i’m on the i’s if you haven’t noticed…the pina colada song’s actually called if you like pina coladas)
Oh, but a recently heard song that i was obsessing over was every day i write the book by elvis costello. i just heard it for the first time a few days ago, and there was much squeeing and re-listening. good song
244- Actually the drum player didn’t catch the ball. It hit Grace almost in the face. And the fight songs? c+q I wouldn’t call what we did actual playing of music. I’d call it a large number of people screaming really really loudly and making noise on their instruments that may have sounded like the fight song if you listened carefully. For the folk who don’t know: The seniors in the band don’t remember the team ever winning a homecoming game. The first game of the year (which was a homegame held at some park or other ’cause we didn’t have a field) the football team lost 30something-6or7ish.
Happy times
Bah. I just went to my friend’s voilin recitle. And met her Tie-Kwan-Do Masters (What?)
Does anyone else here seem to be a bit moody and upset on Sunday nights because they dont want to go back to school even if they are having an ok year (so far)? Its very aggrivating……..
l would like to reming the gapas about the custom of endin’ threds after 300 posts. [/hungry for first post]
(304) We don’t do that anymore. It encouraged too many pointless “filler” posts.
300- Less than five feet away. My back has no less than eight tiny bruises, and there are several places on my head and forearm where the pellets broke the skin.
287- Ouch. you have my sympathy.
288- Brahms piano concerto no. 2.
295- You showed me that on youtube… it’s cool.
303- Yeah.
305- Filler?
303- I can imagine the feeling even though my school year is sucking seriously.
(309) For example, people would submit a string of one-word posts just to reach the 300-post cutoff faster. You can find examples on random threads from earlier this year.
301- Same thing, really.
303- Yes.
l twas’ lookin’ at some old threds, and l noticed that many cut off at 10 posts or so. l even saw one with 8. And congradulations to axa for having the first post ever.
313- What are you talking about? The first post ever was created by me, in the form of an email to the Gaboomba, but Robert put it on here instead.
