Less random than the random thread. More continuity, less noise and pointlessness. Capital letters. Party manners. (O.K., maybe not party manners, but you get the idea.)
Obey The Rules. Consult The Guide. And, as always, have fun.

Hello all. Now this is more like it. Maybe sort of a thread for the old MBers, the random thread could be more for hyper newbies. Not that newbies couldn’t go on her or we couldn’t go on the random thread…..
Last year my school did a seventh grade only play, and it was amazing. So this year, they decided to do another seventh grade only play. They failed to realize that last year’s play was so awesome because there are some really amazing actora and actresses in my grade, not because we were in seventh grade. So this year some eighth graders decided to do a non-school play. We’re doing a play for Israel. All the money we make will go to three different charities for Israel. There will be two performances. The first is tommorow, the second, Thursday. The play is directed by my best friend’s mom. The cast is all eighth graders with one sixth graders. Some high schoolers are helping with lights and sound and selling stuff.
Now, I am friends with the whole cast. It’s all girls with two guys, one in eighth grade, one in sixth. The sixth grader is getting on everyone’s nerves. He goofs off during rehearsels, we tell him not to do something on stage ten times and he keeps doing it, he takes people’s stuff, he dances around in the middle of a scene, he plays around and isn’t paying attention when it’s his lines, and he just generally pisses people off. The play is TOMMOROW, and we’re not ready, and we would be, if not for him. The whole cast is just about ready to murder him. The whole play is gonna be terrible, because of him! And he’s not even THAT good an actor. My friend says we all need to be nice to him because he has no friends, his only friends are the people he works on plays with. But seriously, it’s really hard when he’s being so annoying!
Just needed to rant about that.
Haha! Sweet. This is going to be about as random as I’m going to get on this page, but this is just plain different…I guess, though, if we’re going to have a non-random random thread, we should probably come up with some sort of general subject…hmm…ideas? I say favorite book characters, but that can change. Of course, since I brought it up, I should probably say something about it. One of my favorite book characters is Artemis Fowl…he toys with peoples’ minds so expertly!
The random thread is probably more fun.
Oh well, this is probably a good place for Serious discussion, which can be good sometimes.
3-Artimis Fowl Rocks!
My favorit book character is Arther Dent. AF does toy with peoples minds in a disterbing way.
I’m an eithgrader in Tech Crew and this is my first year. all the ‘old people’ haate the newbies, exept me. The new 6thgraders act like idiots, stand there laughing, misbehaving, and generaly making jerks of themselves. i am going to be a good person and refrain form dropping large sandbags full of sand from great hights onto them. i am trusted enough to be able to go up the ladder into the stoage areas above the stage. Awesome hidding place and there is lots of heavy/sharp/pointy/ stuff up there for the purpose of dropping on them.
‘Now where’s that ax???’
5- Not all 6th graders are bad. I’m one and I don’t think I’m a jerk. I think that most of my fellow classmates are though. I really hate it when I’m out in the hall and a bunch of seniors cuss me out. My age is not my fault.
So, if this thread is going to be the the more serious one then, does that mean that the other one, November Feast, will be, well, more open to pointless posts or somthing? I know this one is suppoesed to be more GaBoomBaish(maybe) what with the capitals and the spelling and what not(which I try to do anyway, but, well, can’t spell to save my life. Grammer, too. Sorry), but does that change what happens on the other?
My favorite book character is probably…oh, god. I don’t know. Friday Jones? Dr. Richard Ames/Colin Campbell? Ford Prefect (I like him better than Dent)? No idea. I hate Artemis Fowl. Artemis is a girl’s name and Fowl, while accurate, is unimaginative and unfitting.
1-I am the oldest MBer still regularly posting. With the exception of Mr. Coontz, that is. I still remember going to camp with the GaBoomBa and coming back to the blog. Nasty shock, that.
2-Beaurecracies always get it wrong. Remember the Prosser-Dent sequence from H2G2?
“I had to go down there with a torch.”
“The lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs. I finally found it, on display, in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.'”
Moral of story: never trust school boards. Your play sounds really cool though. That’s a great idea.
6-Right there with ya. Korrora was just remarking on the stupidity of the 6th graders she has to deal with on Tech crew. And Achoo, son of Asneeze, or Sphinx, was talking about an individual. Not 6th graders in general. I think.
8-Psh…Aretmis Fowl rocks. Deal with it (said in friendly tones, meant playfully).
*Artemis
8- *coughs really loudly* second oldest. And I may have posted before you, I don’t remember. *runs off to check Gaboomba* Yes, I did. Hmmm. But no age wars here. Juliette and I have stuck it out for, well, for me three years now and for Juliette probably about the same amount. Gee, that’s a long time.
Ooh! Good discussion idea! we could go Gaboomba-style and have more than one at once! Whee!
My favorite book character. Hmm. Two that I can think of right now (they go together, no they aren’t sisters or twins. And since they aren’t sisters they can’t be twins. Nor are they lovers or partners. They’re just good friends.) are the Crow girls from many of Charles de Lint’s books. I’m sure I’ll think of plenty more later. I do enjoy The Abarat which, though not a character, is indeed a book.
Aaaah, not so random! actual conversation! ^_^
5, 6, and 2 — twerpy li’l middle skoolers who act like theyre in hi skool should be severely prosecuted.
not to mention ones that think theyre still in elementary skool. those too.
Artemis Fowl seems to be the discussion topic right now, so who am I to argue?
Artemis Fowl is excellent, though SLlGHTLY* implausible. Great fantasy/sci-fi, with actual character development, something that you wouldn’t expect from a book with its plotline.
Has anyone here read The Supernaturalist or Half Moon Investigations? They’re by the same author.
*Understatement of the year. It’s a good book anyway.
2. I’m really impressed that you all had the initiative to do that.
My new favorite literary character is Mr. Rochester. Byronic heros rock!
(10 second review for those not in my English class today: a Byronic hero is a flawed antihero who is rebelious, cynical, prone to mood swings, and smart.)
8. and 11. How old are you? I haven’t been here long, but I’m thinking that I am about as old as you are. At least, I know I’m older than most people here.
It is so fun to read sentences! I love the random threads and everything, but they seem to serve more as outlets for energy than as places for self expression.
15- 16. you?
Why do you guys find Artemis Fowl to be your favorite? I’d describe why I like the crow girls if someone wants.
What are some of your favorite books?
Right now, my local JCC is putting on Little Shop of Horrors. I’m in it and our show is awesome! The people in it are awesome and it’s fun to do. we aren’t that far into rehersals either.
I like the Young wizards books. They have coolness.
I like books with character development, a good plot and at least one mildly interesting fight scene.
Artimis Fowl is fouly evil. Diabolicl geinus.
i am refering to individual 6th graders. I know several nice, inteligent, friendly and generaly cool 6th and 7th graders. The rest I eaither don’t know or I don’t want to know because they walk up to me and cuss me out like they rule the school. There is accepted policy among the 8th graders to deal with the nusiances. Policy is to politly tell them to remove thier ugly personage from your presence before you remove it for them. The look on their faces aftere using big words on them is hilarious. Note, please, that this is used both by 7th and 8th graders who all agree that 6th grades have no right to cuss and/or shove the elders around and also, please note that this is only for those above mentioned.
2- Wow, that’s really cool of you. I’ll remark about Israel on the HT thread later. But the intent is nice. Nicenicenice. Yay for you.
3- Did you read the latest AF book?
8- Wow, you have been posting for quite some time…
I have absolutely no idea about my favourite book character… At the moment, I’m reading A Clockwork Orange and Lolita. Can’t remember the names of the authors, sorry. But the first book I mentioned is taking forever. All the slang. The sad thing is, I’ll be talking like that by the time I’m finished.
I might have to pick Mogget from the Old Kingdom Trilogy. Love that cat. He’s such a bitter cynic. I would be, too, if I were in his state. Or Tom from LOTR. With the lovely Old Man Willow. *sings*
My favorite book character?? Impossible!! Here are some contenders:
Petra from Chasing Vermeer
Ginny from Harry Potter
Tiffany from The Wee Free Men
Zaphod Beeblebrox from HG2G
More later. Definetley more later.
14) The Supernaturalist. Kind of depressing, but it feels like you are in a dungeon with light streaming in and birds singing. With a light drizzle. Pretty good book, actually. Way different feel than *cough* my favorite books ever *cough* the Artemis Fowl Series.
There HAS to be a sixth book. Or I’ll murder Eoin Colfer. And I seriously don’t want to do that.
12. Middle school is mini high school.
What about the twerpy middle schoolers who always hang out with high schoolers?
I have nothing against sixth graders in general. I find that every person who makes up the sixth grade is extremely annoying, with few exceptions, which leads me to utter the generalization that every sixth grader in my school is annoying, which is, in fact, true.
My favorite book character…Probably Death from the Discworld books by Terry Prattchet.
Has anyone here read Twilight?
Ooh, I love books by Eoin Colfer – The Wish List is so awesome! I love books that are morbid and funny at the same time…The Supernaturalist was pretty neat as well.
11- I read The Abarat, too. It’s so awesome! I have to say it’s one of my favorite books. There’s also an Abarat 2, called Days of Magic, Nights of War. Have you read it?
I read the Artemis Fowl books a really long time ago, but I enjoyed them then.
21- OH! Twilight is seriously the bestest book in the world!! loves!!
Whoops. I think I forgot spelling and capitals there… ah well. As well as made up words. Bestest? A word or not?
21- by whom?
23- yay for Abarat! I’ve read both books. I really like them and I’m lending them to a friend at school. I talked rather extensively about them at lunch with a different friend.
I had another dystopian Museblog dream. This is the third I’ve had in 3 months. Do you guys think it means something?
Wow. My band has been invited to play at a private party full of VIPs, including the mayor!! But it’s saturday evening so we’ve got not a lot of time to tighten our act, AND the drummer (who’s a totally unreliable pot smoker) isn’t sure he’ll be there…
I play the French Horn! Isn’t that cool? Actually no.
Middle school is so not at all like highschool. If your in middleschool and think it’s just like highschool, you’re in for a big wake up call, trust me.
Yes, never do plays with 6th graders. My sister and were oompa loompas in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (what can I say, it was fun :)) and she and her tiny friends kept running off during rehearsal. Not once, Not twice. FOUR fricken’ times! Why come to rehearsal? I was ready to murder her. However, I don’t think I was nearly as annoying when I was in sixth grade, though that may be a biased opinion.
No way I could pick a favorite character, though I’m probably leaning towards Ford Prefect. I dunno why. (yes, that was intentional bad grammar to indicate a very relaxed answer and shrug)
26- Show him a picture of a brain after smoking pot. That keeps me from even thinking about doing something so stupid, maybe it’d get him to kick the disgusting addiction.
27- In time they did an interview with Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket) who said he was probably the only guy on the planet who took up the accordian to pick up girls. You made me think of that. Personally, french horn is cooler.
26: He already looks like a brain after pot smoking. Honestly, I don’t think he’d see anything new.
✌Kiki the Great✌ (25),
What happened in the dreams?
30- In the first one, you let all the MBers make thir own threads. It was madness. You also added about a billion new smileys, and revamped the look of the Blog to make it look more Neopets-y.
In the second one, it was pretty much the same, exept you didn’t revamp the look.
In the most recent, and third, you guys were making too many threads at once, and I couldn’t keep up and had to quit.
I would just like to inform all of you that all of my recent posts have been quite calm and not in the least bit random. My favorite book charactor is Hazel from Watership Down. I enjoy his bravery and logic. I have recently seen the tranzit of the planet mercury. 6th gragers can be a pain in the neck. no one likes 6th graders
I would also like to ask the most honorable great and powerful adminestrators to create a thread where hyper people can seek theropy
You mean, like Dissing Mr. Joe?
oh i have a buddy who is ALWAYS hyper she needs that therapy
and lots of hyperness
oh yea she needs it a lot
her =
make her this thread pwease
28- that’s awesome. Accordion is awesome.
35- aaah! the P word!
So I lent the friend the first book of Abarat today and she was rather surprised. Apparentlly she hadn’t heard me when I said I’d lend it to her.
Other favorite characters… hmm… that’s hard *goes and steals other people’s answers*
still the Crow Girls
and Tiffany Aching
and Coraline
28- Personally I don’t know any girls who want to date a guy because he plays the acorrdion. That doesn’t mean there aren’t but I don’t know any………
19- Meloves Zaphod, too.
Oh, and 16. Stay off of the roads.
Arabat 1+2 were very nice reads. Very trippy and fantastic, as in in the style of a fantasy. Though they were fantastic, as in hoopy, too. I love the orange dude.
26- Huzzah for you. You must sound lovely. And I like the name. Caesar was a genius.
35- AHH! Not the dreaded p-word! Utter it not! And by utter, I mean type.
This thread is only a bit more focused than the random thread, isn’t it?
So…focusing on PJAS now. w00t, filters and testing and *breaks down* I”M SO CLUELESS.
That belonged on the random thread, didn’t it?
More in-depth post, back-referencing an old thread:
Life after High School.
I change my mind about what I want to do on an almost daily basis. Between a few specific majors.
Chemistry,
Engineering (Mech or Chem…),
Astrophysics and Cosmology,
and Anthropology and Archeology.
I’m a junior. I should have reduced the randomness by now.
I’m leaning to [is it “toward” or “towards”] the sciences, though. I’m much better at them.
And how cool would Astrophysics and Cosmology be? As one of my friends put it, it would be like being a modern-day philosopher.
In a calculating, exact way. Whoo, logic.
So….what about you, comrades in Musery?
I have read Twilight, and it seems to have a totally different feel than the rest of the Warriors series, focusing more on internal struggle than epic battles.
Let’s talk about the awesomely fr00dy dude, Terry Pratchett!!
And his books, of course.
I’ve read:
Only You can Save Mankind
The Carpet People
Mort
The Wee Free Men
Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents
I reeeeeeaaaaaally need to read more.
I have never read Terry Pratchett….are his books good? Which one would you suggest reading first?
41- yes! i have read
The Wee Free Men
Hat Full of Sky
Wintersmith
and they are REALLY good. they’re a series so read them in the order i said.
I’ve read Terry Pratchett too. His books are awesome!!
12, 21-Excuse me???!!! You’re saying what about middle schoolers? I and thirteen other eighth graders take math at the high school. We have friends there (well, at least one). Are you saying we can’t be smart, or act mature? “To generalize is to be an idiot.” William Blake, I think. 7th graders are just like 8th graders, only with less experience in life. 6th ditto for 7th.
I’m reading The Great Thoughts, as you can probably tell. After it, the dictionary, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the Iliad. In no particular order. Isaac Asimov pwns. Who’s Terry Pratchett?
Some books I like(I might omit some inadvertently):
Young Wizards series(with Nita and Kit), Diane Duane (the earlier books are better)
Anything by Isaac Asimov except the Foundation series
Harry Potter series, JK Rowling (earlier books are better)
Artemis Fowl series, Eoin Colfer
Tunnel in the Sky, Heinlein
Anything by Douglas Adams(the earlier Hitchhiker books are better)
Vows and Honor series(Tarma and Kethry), Mercedes Lackey
Most Andrew Clements, especially Frindle
Sorcery and Cecelia/The Enchanted Chocolate Pot and its sequel, by I forget who
A College of Magics I also forget who
The Magician’s Ward, I think it’s called, and its sequel, I also also forget who
Farenheit 451, Ray Bradbury
1984, Orwell
I’m beginning to list every good book I’ve ever read, and while that’s a noble pursuit, I’ve read too much and I’m beginning to forget earlier books. There’s lots more, if you’re curious, but since I’m curious, you can’t be, and since I can’t type well, that’s enough for now.
https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=535
You know you want to.
I love Terry Prattchet. He’s absolutely amazing.
Twilight by Stephanie Meyers.
42- there’s another book after Hat Full of Sky? yay! I’ve read those plus Going Postal and Good Omens but minus Wintersmith. (Good Omens is awesome – written with Neil Gaiman
38- cosmology is cool. my ideas:
cosmology/astrophysics
english
mathematics (especially combinations and permutations)
chemistry?
theatre
linguistics
47- yes! Wintersmith just came out recently. like a month ago maybe? it’s really good. but that goes without saying. I hope that doesn’t make this a pointless post?
I’m still fifteen. Actually, I’m rather glad. I was afraid that I was so much older than y’all that you could hear my bones creaking in my comments. I do really like conversing with people who are younger than me, including sixies and sevies- I don’t find them annoying one bit. The worst thing about High school is not having them around. High School, I have found, is really not that different from middle school, except that athletics detracts from the whole experience a little more here. I miss Jr. High.
Ooh, books. I just went to the library on the way home and got Double Star (heinlein) Blandings Castle (wodehouse) and Trickster’s Choice (pierce)
Sevvies aren’t terrible. They can be incredibly annoying. But it’s the eighth graders and sophomores that really bug me. Which is somewhat hypocritical, seeing as i am a sophomore. But the eighth graders and sophs both in my experience tend to be more full of themselves and obnoxious, and less considerate of other people. For eighth graders, they’re top of the school, they’re only under high schoolers (who are pretty separate actually), they have total power. Like seniors, except much more so. For sophomores, it’s mostly because they’re not freshies any more. So they’re like “yay, we can torture the freshies now and get revenge!” i ranted on this several times during band camp.
Anyhoo. yah.
Pratchett pwns. I’ve read almost all his books.
My head doth hurt. I’m giving up on both nano and hw for the night and actually getting some sleep for once. It’s funny, two days seems to be my “able-to-get-by-with-bare-minimum-of-sleep” limit. If i get less than 8 hrs in two days, i just crash. But if i get less than 4 hrs in one day, i’m fine. Weird.
44- Caroline Stevermer and Patricia C. Wrede collaborated on Sorcery and Cecilia. Caroline Stevermer wrote A College of Magics. Patricia C. Wrede wrote Magician’s ward.
the author of twilight wrote a sequel, new moon.
I like way too many books to count much less name them all right now. however, I have a list typed up that I’m off to go find for copy-pasting.
Douglas Adams, Abarat books, Lois McMaster Bujold, The Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper, The Number Devil, Coraline by Neil Gaiman, Nancy Farmer, Victoria Hanley, The Blue Avenger books, The Blue Sword and The Hero and the Crown both by Robin McKinley, The Wind Singer; Slaves of the Mastery and Firesong all by William Nicholson, Sabriel; Lirael and Abhorsen by Garth Nix, Fire Arrow and Hero’s Song by Edith Pattou, Terry Pratchett, Phillip Pullman (both Sally Lockhart and His Dark Materials), Uncle Tungsten by Oliver Sacks, Sherwood Smith, J. R. R. Tolkien, Patricia C. Wrede, the Molesworth books, The Westing Game, I Capture the Castle, A Girl Named Zippy, The Bean Trees, and many others.
oh, forgot a few. Since I first compiled that list, I’ve enjoyed Someplace to be Flying by Charles de Lint as well as many other Charles de Lint books. I also have now read The War for the Oaks by Emma Bull.
8- What is GaBoomBa????
50- I LOVE WODEHOUSE!!!!!!!
has anyone read Rebecca? (Daphne du Maurier) i love that book! let’s see… of course, the lord of the rings series. hmm… hmm… i’ll think about it.
51- of those books my favorite ones are The Number Devil, Coraline, (have you read the ear, the eye, and the arm? i thought it was OK…) Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen (have you read the keys to the kingdom series? i havent but ive been told they’re good.) His Dark Materials, and the Westing Game.
Has anyone read the short story called Roman Love, or something? the one about the two women in rome?? i liked that one.
or The Lottery? or The Rocking-Horse?
I’m sorry, I’ve forgotten the authors.
I’m really sorry I didn’t capitalize a lot of those letters that should have been capitalized, but i’m sick and have a little bit of a headache. I’m going to sleep right now.
this is turning SLIGHTLY random…
55- it is a random thread.
no, it’s the discussion thread. for unrandom, un-pointless posts.
57-This thread is the random thread with pointed posts and capitalization.
50 – Double Star‘s OK. Not exceptional, but not badly written and not about something stupid.
So can I say “Virgin Steele is teh pwn”? Does that count as a random but pointed post? I guess it does… Virgin Steele is teh pwn! Amazing music. Can be agressive as a lion or as tender as a kiss before death… Barbaric romantic operas based on mythology with an epic feeling to it. And David DeFeis is an amazing songwriter and has a falsetto that leaves any opera singer shamed.
44- FOUNDATION HATER! But you like Bradbury, so it’s all good. Did you read The Martian Chronicles? Because you should. Also by Bradbury. That book holds a very dear place in my heart. As the first sci-fi book I have ever read. Waaaaay long ago, when my dad shoved it at me and told me to read it. That’s also why I read LOTR. I wanted to go to the last Comic-Con, because Bradbury was there, but my parents would not let me.
47- w00t, cosmology. Permutations are cool, too. I can’t really see the appeal of English, though…Chem is awesome. Especially the labs.
OoO math….I accidentally stumbled upon a math article by Ivars Peterson today.
49- Those were the days, weren’t they. I’m one of the older people here, too.
51- Coraline, creepy book. Loved it. Also HDM and the Old Kingdom Trilogy. Douglas Adams goes without saying. Yay, Arabat.
Try some J.D. Salinger.
And any of the classics, of course.
Langston Hughes.
The Phantom Tollbooth [Juster]. Even though its one of those books you probably read early in grade school. It’s fun to re-read when you don’t want to think hard and just need to relax.
Same thing with A Wrinkle in Time, and all its sequels.
I know I was going to write something…..but i forgot….. poop.
CLICK ON THIS LINK!!!! If it works…. it is my mom’s car lot…
[Sorry, SM. This is exactly the sort of link we GAPAs zap on sight. –Robert]
CLICK IT! NOWWWW!
16- cool! my JCC is doing cats- which is awsome, exxcept i can’t even sing the alto part because its to high for me, so i and my friend are singing with the guys.
44- i like the foundation series, especially the original trilogy, but my favort book is I, Robot.
41- all of them
I’ll read practicly anything(in my capabilaties as a non member of the society of the easily amused)
I stole these from c+q
Young Wizards series(with Nita and Kit), Diane Duane (the earlier books are better)
Anything by Isaac Asimov except the Foundation series
Harry Potter series, JK Rowling (earlier books are better)
Artemis Fowl series, Eoin Colfer
Tunnel in the Sky, Heinlein
Anything by Douglas Adams(the earlier Hitchhiker books are better)
Farenheit 451, Ray Bradbury
i would liek to edit that a little though.
The firts Foundation was awesome. the second was great. The rest stank. badly.
Anything by Heinlien is good. Most things by Spider Robinson are good.
I havn’t read Princess Bride, am not sure i’m supposed to, but I have read the fight sene from it. My favoitest quote.
“My name is Inigo Montoya. You have killed my father. Prepare to die.”
Talk about long standing grudges.
39- I read a book called twilight recently. It was sort of about vampires. I rather liked it.
I have several friends in other grades. I was quite suprized, actually, sence I don’t normally make friends well out side of my 3 best friends(4, including my adopted 8th grader).
Adopted 8th grader? Ah yes. Well, when i was in 6th grades my friend and I started out on the same bus, but then thay split up the bus routs and I was on a different bus even though I live across the street from one of them. Grr. Well, I was sitting in the backmost seat, and most of the other people were little 5th graders. Meh. So I would sit alone, then in the seat next to me I would notice a girl get on who allways had a book with her. Mostly Harry Potter. We started talking about books and such, she was really a big HP fan. Everyone else made fun of her for it, and she had a hard-ish family life. Her friends wern’t very nice to her either. So I would talk to her and stuff, and we were friends but only really saw each other on the bus. The next year, when I was in 7th grade, me+my other friend were on a bus with all the 5th and 6th graders and another 7th grader. My friend who was now a sith grader, Heather, was on the bus too. So I introduced them and we protected her from the nasty people who made fun of her on the bus and stuff and she became a really good friend of ours. It was so nice when she got to 7th grade and was in our school(our schools go K-4 in one building, 5-6 in another, 7-8 in yet another, then the high school) so we could see her more often. People were still making fun of her even though she was’t obsessed with HP anymore, and we helped her sencethe people in ou grade started to too. People don’t mess with us. Sure, they make fun of us and call us names, but they can’t do anything to touch me and my friends. We’re above the whole ‘popular’ thing and talk to who we want to and don’t listen to the others. It really annoys them, which can be fun. So we didn’t let them bother her either. Now she has another group of friends, and they were good at first, but now I’m not sure their good for her. They don’t really talk to her and stuff and play the ‘not eating game’ at lunch. We talked her out of participating, but I’m still not sure she’s listening when we tell her don’t do anything stupid. Not like drugs or anything, she knows that, but I’m not sure…
I like the book The Blue Girl by Charles de Lint. Also, my friend says that the Hawksong and Falcondance books are good. I havn’t read them yet. What do you think?
I’m going to be in sixth grade next year. I can ride my bike to skool next year!!!
63- Uhm, it’s “Hello. My name is Indigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.” Repeated over, and over, louder each time.
Where’s the NaNo thread? I’ve passed 15500.
64- I read Twilight, about the vampires, too. There’s a sequel, called New Moon. Haven’t read that yet.
62- I’m singing the middle part. we have three parts. the high part, the medium part and the low part. I don’t think any of our guys are singing anything but the low part but girls are singing all of the parts.
64- I’ve read The Blue Girl I liked it.
66-I think it’s Inigo Montoya. Indigo is a color. I love Princess Bride, both the movie and the book.
Hi. Um, I’ve noticed something about Through the Looking-Glass: ok. What’s the same about Tweedledee and Tweedledum? The Tweedle. Take that part out. Now, it’s always in the order in Dum, then Dee. I wonder, “Why?” After many hours of staring at my ceiling on my floor after midnight, and petting my kitty, I noticed- Dum-Dee! Or Dumpty! Now, who does Alice meet very soon later on in the book? Humpty Dumty! But… I’m still confused. Any help? Oh, and also I associate books by the way they’re written by wierd imaginary songs. Anyone else like that? Also, in 6th grade, I read Harry Potter the Latest in 6 hours. 0.o Oh, and i love muse. And my band teacher was in the famous band, Everclear! I play the trombone. I’m sooo bored.
In Winter, when the feilds are white, Ivsing this song for your delight; In Spring, when the woods are getting green, I’ll try and tell you what I mean. In Summer, when the days are long, perhaps you’ll understand this song: In Autumn, when the leaves are Brown, Take pen and ink and write it down.”
” I sent a message to the fish: I told them ‘This is what I wish.’ The little fishes of the sea, They sent an answer back to me. The little fishes’ answer was ‘We cannot do it, Sir, because— I sent them again to say ‘It will be better to obey.’ The fishes answered with a grin, ‘Why, what a temper you are in !’ I told them once, I told them twice : They would not listen to advice. I took a kettle large and new, Fit for the deed I had to do. My heart went hop, my heart went thump ; I filled the kettle at the pump. Then some one came to me and said, ‘The little fishes are in bed.’ I said to him, I said quite plain, ‘Then you must wake them up again.’ I said it very loud and clear ; I went and shouted in his ear. But he was very stiff and proud ; He said ‘You needn’t shout so loud!’ And he was very proud and stiff, He said ‘I’d go find them if—” I took a corkscrew from my shelf: I went to wake them up myself. ANd when I found the door was locked, I pulled and pushed and kicked and knocked. And when I found the door was shut, I tried to turn the handle, but—-
That makes me think of some sad-ish clasical remixed into a badly made country song. It smells like roses, and makes me sleepy. I also want to play the Japanese game of go.
Hurrah. I don’t really like John Tennial’s illistrations. Also, for x+1=x, x is equal to infinity. I think. The highest number I can count up to by ones is 163,879 in a row. Not quite infinety. I found that number on a paper in a big stack of my drawings. Which is big. My favorite books give me Devo-like songs or pale lemon smells. Can’t explain why. Bobbyjkl/ Hatta/ Haghia signing off. Why the Aliases? Because I’m mad.
Aww, my earlyiar comment got deleted.
too long. even thogh it had lots about books. basically a summary- books also give me colors and smells, like alice in wonderland is a classical redone country and smells like mints and is colored rose, and tweedleDum and tweedleDee is DumDee/Dumpty. I spend too much time staring at the ceiling when not asleep, on the floor.
Does anyone here read mental_floss? It’s like a Muse for the older persons. They also have quite fr00dy t-shirts on their website. I’m getting one that says “As easy as 3.141592..”. They also have a blog. Not saying that m_f is better; no!! I wouldn’t do that! It’s just zarkingly awesome.
68-it is Inigo Montoya and the Princess Bride book and movie were hilarious. i am new to this thread so pie me if you want to. well, i have read and studied a LOT of books and can’t really decide which ones i like the most, bu Artemis Fowl was really good. Along with the Bartimeaus trilogy. if you like books, visit the BOOKS AND READING thread. Cause it rocks, thats why!!!!! 64-good for you to lend a helping hand, i mean, if everyone was kind like you were, the world would skyrocket out of the cess-pool its affairs are in at the present. who needs be popular?! just be yourself! well, ttyl
(64) That’s so nice of you! I think it’s great you could help her like that.
66- I read New Moon too. I didn’t like it as much as I liked twilight, though. I think the one after that is called Eclipse.
69- Oh, a Lewis Carroll fan! That wwas Humpty Dumpty’s poem, right? I memorized Jabberwocky last year for fun. I also know the Queen of Hearts poem/riddle thing too. Actually, I have here before me a book called It has Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, The Hunting of the Snark, a Tangled Tale, and a colection of poems and songs called Phantasmagoria(for all you oldies who remember it, ‘February Phantasmagoria, eh?) I like the first verse of The Walrus and the Carpenter too. Lesse…
“The sun was shining on the sea,
shining with all his might
he did his very best to make
the billows smooth and bright-
though this was rater odd because it was
the mddle of the night.”
Did I get it right? Yess! Haha.
You can associate books with colors and smells? Sounds sort of like..umm, wat’s the word… S somthing… there was a muse article about it, I think Kiki the Great is one(or was it Phoenix?) Not schizophrenic, synapsis, serindipity, sa… sa somthing? Ahh, help me out people.
SYNESTHESIA!!! That was it. Well, people who have synesthesia see colors or taste somthing when they hear people talk or music. Correct, yes? I think so.
Yes. Senesthia. I am a senesthae. It rocks… unless it is somthing I don’t like. Then it really sucks.
pi ~ 3.141592653589798232 I know more but I can’t remember
75- Yes, I do have a mild from of synesthesia. It’s interesting to think that I have a mental disease.
I just went to American Science and Surplus. It’s a fr00dily awesome science store. I bought test tubes, ball bearings, marbles and…. A MOTOR! It’s a tiny little thing, and when I got home, i hooked it up to a AA battery. It spun, and I put a circle of paper on the axel-thing and drew while it spun. It was sweeet.
69-Another trombonist! Actually, I don’t know how many of us are here. How long have you been playing? What level are you in for NYSSMA or the analogous thing for your state? What lesson book are you in? Do you take private lessons or just school-group instruction? For me , the answers are: 4 years+nearly 3 months so far, level 3 or 4, Belwin intermediate(the red one), school-group instruction.
I’m purposely double posting because I want to find out how long is too long when it comes to pi and the GAPAs. Sorry.
I can’t find more than 1000 digits online, but here:

Whoa, lots of new posts…
Ok, here goes something (I’ve been upset with nothing lately)
I don’t think anyone ever mentioned the giver on the favorite books list, though I might have missed it. I must say the giver, gathering blue, and messenger are fabulous books, definitly top five. Speaking of other muse-ish things, anyone ever see the annals of improbable research website/mag? They do the ig nobels(go to website, it’s hilarious, just google Annals of Improbable Research) Which were actually better last year, but still great. It’s annoying when people mix up Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass because the movie was mostly Through the Looking Glass but was called Alice in Wonderland. The Phantom Toll Booth is a great book, if you haven’t read it since 5th grade, reread it, I’m glad I did. A little disconnected, but I don’t have much time. I have a conspiracy theory that the person who thought up the mario games was licking halucinogenic mushrooms. Think about it.
79- we get a catolouge from that store! I wanna hot glue gun!!!! they are quite handy for projects etc.
anyone seen Run Lola Run?
What internet browsers do you guys use?
Right now I’m reading a book called Words Words Words by David Crystal and re-reading Abarat. Words Words Words is about the english language^_^ yay for linguistics!
i think i might have a very mild form of synesthesia because i associate people with colors sometimes
(84) I don’t think that’s synesthia persay… that’s just associating colors witht things, the same way you associate anything with anything. It’s still pretty cool, though.
(83) Yay Abarat! Do you have any idea when the next one is coming out?
85- Well i like to think it’s synesthesia anyway. And it could be. Maybe anytime anyone randomly associates things with other things it’s just very mild undiagnosed synesthesia.
85- next fall I beleive
anyone else like the white stripes?
I’ve always enjoyed the concept of synaesthesia. then again I make a metaphor out of everything.
32-I am a sixth grader. Do you not like me? I do admit, there are 7 people in my grade, and 5 of them are complete and utter twits. They never do anything right. The other 2 people, me and my best friend, are not so bad.
83- I use Safari.
Who likes the Ology books? I definetly do.
I use Firefox.
We JUST got a catalouge from the AS&S people. *rushes of and discovers that my allowance has vanished* I read the catalouge and I circle all of the things that would be cool to have and I dream about getting them but I don’t. I did get a Penguin Xing sign for my wall. It’s somewhere on my floor. Maybe I should find it.
83- I use Microsoft Internet Explorer for most things.
90- I use firefox too.
I’ve never actually ordered anything from them. I almost did once but it was out of stock.
I’m going to bring up the question again. What are people’s types, personality that is? I’m an INTP. you should be able to find a test by searching for INTP. The options are I- introvert or E- extrovert, N-intuitive or S- sensing, T- thinking or F- feeling and P- perceiving or J – Judging
I’m INFJ, moderately expressed introvert, moderately expressed intuitive personality, slightly expressed feeling personality, and very expressed judging personality/
I’m an INFP. It sounds a lot like me, except for a few small things.
Microsoft is the greatest evil. Do not use Internet Explorer or any other microsoft products.
Has anyone mentioned His Dark Materials on their lists of favorites. I am rereading it right now. I lost my original coppies, so I had to go to the library and was totally outraged to find it in the childrens section of all places. I know it looks like it is about a little girl, but it is really about string theory and the nature of the human soul. I last read it in seventh grade and a lot of it went right over my head.
When people ask me what I am going to do after high school I tell them that I am going to own a coin laundry because I am so unsure of what else to say. I understnad that being a bum and reading all the time doesn’t pay very well.
I only have one thing to say: HOLY CRAP!!!
We played for 15 minutes at a private party in front of the mayor and a bunch of VIPs, and they paid us 100 francs a head. Which is a LOT for 15 minutes!!!!! The mayors wife wanted our autographs and wants us to play at her sixtieth birthday. W00t!!!!
63-I love Heinlein. I hate Tunnel.
96-Fun! Wait, francs? !?!?! Um, okay. Still, good for you.
I am officially regretting the fact that I never volunteered to have Tom Lehrer’s babies. I love that man. I just got the joke in ‘MLF Lullaby’ about the Bundeswehr. OMG.
97- um, Juliette, I think he’s a bit old for you.
96- wow, that’s a lot.. What did you play? How did you work out the band logistics with the not-so-good guitarist and the drummer and stuff?
um.. I just got paid $10 for teaching a half-hour violin lesson to a really nice 10-year-old..
I forgot His Dark Materials. Also, I forgot that Tunnel in the Sky was the first Heinlein book I read, but The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress is way better.
Synthesia- I read this story in Analog about it several months back. It was called “The Skeekit-Woogle Test”. Did anyone else? Does anyone else read Analog? It was about this guy who thought synthesia was a disease that would kill you after 300 years. He worked for the government. When he proposed it, he wasn’t taken seriously. He also made up this test for seeing if you had synthesia. It went like this: There are two words, skeekit and woogle. One means an egg and one means a shard of glass. Which is which? The guy got different answers than everyone else, though, and he wanted to have it. In the end, he had a different form of it. That sounds like a test to see if you have imagination to me, though. Either that, or almost everyone has a little synthesia. Or I just think it’s easy because I am secretly a synthesiac. I don’t know or particularly care if I am. How will it affect my life?
97: FS lives in Switzerland. They use Francs over there. Unlike all of the surrounding countries, which use Euros. A headache whenever one crosses the border. Which I did alot when I lived there, it being kind of small.
99: The skeekit is definitely the glass. Kind of bluish purple. The woogle is the egg, except w/ polka dots.
Apols for my lurkishness/i wasn’t lurking here but in the shadows of Backstage (bum bum buuuuum) in my lovely all-black creepiness. Since us costumers weren’t doing anything, they put us on set building for the last few days. I cut wood and stuff the first day, then thurs i painted a wall grey, then green, and then yestiddy we swept and mopped the whole frickin stage, which took ages, then today was tech so i sat around backstage, drew on my hands, and picked up actor’s clothes when they were done with their quick changes. Oh, and i help bring out chairs for one scene. Yepyep.
Ye gads, i don’t even want to think about how far behind i am in nano. i was 2000 words behind already, before i became a theater recluse.
anyhoo, life. life is good. i’m living off skittles. the reese’s in the vending machine are gone! :'( *snibble*
oh and i’m afraid geekiness is become cool at skool. just today sarah was like “[random thing i forget what it was] equals pwnage” and i was like “wow sarah, since when are you 1337?” and she was like “what?” and i was like “since. when. are. you. 1337” and then she had a confused look so i was like “since when do you say ‘pwnage?'” and she was like “oh, idk”
that makes me slightly sad. even though sarah’s cool enough to say “pwnage” if she wants to be a geek. but she has to actually be a geek, meaning i have to bore her with random geeky details about life. XD meaning, everybody should know what 1337 is if they want to use it.
anyhoo, i’m off to eat loads of food because i’m like falling asleep. because you don’t sleep when you’re falling asleep. What a stupid idea. No, what you do is you eat. And stay up. My life is probably incredibly unhealthy….ah well. Eat your weetabix people.
96-Sa-weet!!! You guys must be friggin’ awesome!
Hee hee I’ve done TMBG music video type dancing at a party now! And I’ve walked on a ledge behind a waterfall.
Congratulations, Fridge!
thanks, everyone. In the end we just turned the not-so-good guitar player down a bit and kicked the bass drum whenever the drummer scrwed up. which was during Knocking on Heavens Door, he came in waaay too fast. We played three songs, Sweet Child O’Mine, by Guns N’Roses, Knocking on Heaven’s Door, by Bob Dylan and Believe by Savatage.
As for the currencies exchange, 1€ is circa 1.5 fr, give or take 0.1… currently I think it’s up to 1.6…
66-actually it is Inigo
90-i ♥ firefox but i don’t have it at home
105-that’s amazing. i want to learn guitar now. XD lol /i always did want to learn guitar…but it comes to mind again.
Tunnel was ok, definitely wasn’t my fav. Have spacesuit-will travel was great, stranger in a strange land was interesting (not necessarily in a bad way…or a good way really…just interesting) moon i’ve only read about half of so far.
Finished skinny dip yestiddy. it was the book club book-only the second one i haven’t finished on time. i kind of forgot about it in my locker until i got bored backstage and then at a break i was like “wow, i have a book in my locker. i shall go get it”
it was pretty good. i want to read sick puppy because everybody said it’s brilliant. if it’s so amazing i’m not sure why we didn’t read that for book club instead. but mebbe skinny dip was newer or more skool-appropriate or something. Although the book club never really bothers with skool appropriateness. We’re going to read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, which is supposed to be pretty skool-inappropriate.
I am definitely procrastinating now. Except i can’t think of anything else to say. *sigh*
105-Hey…you should see if your band can make a MySpace and upload some songs…I want to hear them. Or you can use a different website, but MySpace is the only one I know of.
Does anyone else here like to analyze songs? It’s almost turned into a hobby for me…Some albums are actually made w/ storylines, and it’s fun to take the thingie out of the CD case, read it, and try to figure out how the story goes.
108— I actually took a class last year in which we did a brief analysis of a song… I love Billy Joel… Do you? His songs are especially good for analyzing!
o.k. what geeks set up this dumb and social life ruining page? totally stupid. you r all such losers!
Ha ha ha I am so funny. (And a genius as well.) Keep your eyes peeled for more tifany/laney postings! MWA HA HA HA
omg our friends are coming over and we wouldnt want to be caught talking to some nerds that dont even ANSWER US!!!!! oh hi grandma, yes i love the magazine you got for me ….NOT
ok who here thinks tiffany and laney should go dunk their heads in a toilet? and also they should be given a permanent case of acne… or atleast until they admit that MUSE ROCKS!!!
I am now leaving… WHY DOES NOBODY ANSWER MY POSTS?!?!?! Maybe I need to leave now. By the way, I am a new blogger, so I still do not quite understand how this works. Maybe someone could post me on that? *smiles hopefully* I will return around 3 pm eastern time tomorrow. I await your responses eagerly.
*pis tiffany/laneyimpersonatorhahaha*
*see previous action*
*ad infinitum*
The pies are because Tiffany and Laney are evil, not for any newcomer. They epitomize the popular mindset we Musers shun. It is enigmatic that anyone would want to remind us of those we hate. It could start a pie war – the blog against them. Quintessentially, Tiffany and Laney are not deserving of anything except loathing, cruel pranks, and pies to the face.
FS (96) Cool! (105) Nice song selection.
dancer95- Hi! Welcome. Here’s your pie. *pies d95 with a lemon cream pie*. It takes a little while for posts to get replied to on the blog. First, the GAPAs have to moderate your post. No one will see it until they do this, and while they are excellent and speedy about doing it, they do also have lives and jobs to attend to (not that those are nearly as important as the blog). Then people have to notice you. It’s pretty crowded here right now, so that sometimes takes a bit. But no worries. Just keep commenting and people start to reply. Like me.
Toodles.
Sorry dancer95. Your post was moderated after I submitted my last post. Would you like a pie? *pumpkin pies dancer95*
Welcome dancer95! You will quickly get used to being ignored, if this bothers you, try to put something controversial in your posts to spur angry responses, like, I don’t know, Puppies are evil and everyone with a different opinion must die! or something, maybe a tad less dramatic. *pies with pecan pie* Ouch, maybe the nut pies should not be flung. Is that the right word? Flung? It sounds strange.
We analyze Imagine last year during our utopia unit.
My social studies teacher was surprised last month that I knew the meaning of the word utopia. It was funny. This one girl read a current events on tasers, and he asked me if I thought using them was better than using guns, and I said it would be better if people followed the laws, and he said this isn’t a utopia, and then he asked me if I knew what utopia meant, and I sais “yes, a perfect world” in an of course tone of voice, and he said I was the first eighth grader who knew what utopia meant, and my friend who had been standing at the front of the room waiting to read his current events all this time said he knew what utopia meant too, and my teacher said he was the second. Good times, good times. Nobody cares, though, and this is a random tangent. Oh well. Life was good then. It’s still good now, though, except for … *begins to list all the troubles she always has, and had then, without pausing for breath, even though her life is actually good and there’s nothing to complain about* “Life: loathe it or ignore it, you can’t like it.” Marvin is an eternal pessimist.
117- Utopia, utopia. I love to read dystiopian books. I am obsessed with future predictions and what people predicted about now.
DYSTOPIA!!!!!!!
Sorry, that’s a habit of mine everytime someone talks about global warming, population explosion etc.
108-that is so fun XD i’ve put songs up on my ipod just because i had no clue what they meant and wanted to figure it out.
117-that’s sad…i would think every 8th grader should know what utopia means…educate the populace people! although to tell the truth i don’t think your history teacher knew what he was talking about. plenty of people there probably knew what utopia meant. Or maybe not, in which case i would schmack them.
I hate it when people think i’m stupider than i am. Unless i’m trying to make them think that of course. which i do on occasion for various reasons. usually because i’m bored and want to mess with some random person’s head. i’m such a terrible person…
i love the monkees. even though they’re totally fake, i love them anyway.
that was random, wasn’t it? Apols to all.
119- random is isn’t a problem it’s pointless that’s a problem.
Has anyone here read An Abundance of Katherines?
108- for english class we are working on song analysis projects. I’m working on Carrot Juice is Murder by the Arrogant Worms.
Suddenly, and in the middle of the night, a lone figure dressed all in black slipped quickly onto the thread. Quickly, the hood was thrown back, revealing Otzi with a sneaky look upon her face. suddenly, she *PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDD* all of the bloggers, newbie and veterans alike, shouting random phrases.
“HEEEHEEHEEE!!!! PIES!!!!! REMEMBER THE FIFTH OF NOVEMBER!!!!!!! OBAMA ROCKS!!!!!!! SO DO JOHNNY CASH, JIMI HENDRIX, AND JOHN LENNON!!!!!!! EVEN THOUGH THEY’RE DEAD!!!!!! SO WHAT?!!!!! GUY FAWKES IS DEAD AND HE IS AWESOME!!!!!!! II’VE EATEN TOO MUCH CHOCKLIT!!!!! PIES PIES PIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Pieing everyone once again, she ran over to a large stereo system that had not been there before and turned up the volume so that Gnarl’s Barkley’s “Crazy”, her official theme song, blared out across the thread. While everyone looked at each other and someone picked up the phone to call The Men In White Coats, Otzi vanished onto another thread. The End.
And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is called “It’s midnight and Otzi has crazy insomnia and too much caffiene from dark choklit in her system”.
Dancer95- What kind of dance do you do? *pies*
I read Twilight, but not any of its sequels. And I still think that Tiffany and Laney were joking.
Ach! Ebeth has been pied! but she must bike off to skool now because parentals are at lb’s honors breakfast. toodlyoos! probably won’t be on today, dress rehearsal. :'(
121- Wonderful story… You get a chocolate pie for congradulations! *splat*
123- Twilight has sequels????!?!?!??!?! MUST READ THEM!!!
108-Have you ever heard the song American Pie? It’s really hard, perhaps imposible, to analyze correctly because the author is dead and it refers to so many different things.
20- that sounds like a funny song
21 — When little seventh graders act way older than their age, it doesn’t make them more mature seeming like i’m sure they want to seem. It just makes them look . . . really, really stupid. And if they REALLY want to emulate hi skoolers, they will stop perennially wearing Abercrombie/Hollister. seriously. that it so middle skool.
We had our first Guys & Dolls rehearsal today. ‘Twasn’t much of a rehearsal, just explanation and schtuffits. Yay for overbooked drama nerds!
Elizabeth (126),
Don McLean was still alive and touring the last time I checked. In the early 1970s, when his song stayed at the top of the charts for weeks and weeks (and made McLean an overnight millionaire), someone asked him what it meant. He said, “It means I’ll never have to work again.” I’m not convinced that the many allusions add up to a coherent story. I can identify most of them, though.
Hakudemon is back!! For limited time only. Eheheh.
127. I agree. Nobody can be a high schooler unles they are in high school.
119. I hate it when people think I’m smarter than I am. It makes me feel stupid. Not that I want to know everything. There are tons of things that I have no desire to know. I’ll stop there.
*Random thought* Has anyone ever heard of the term “googlewhack” (or something of the sort)? Basically, you type two words into google, without quotation marks, and try to find a search with only one result. It’s hard, but I’ve done it twice. I would do it more if I had no life, but yeah.
130- On the subject of litl kidlets, the tots at my skool are being really snippy towards older folkses. Take for example:
Me:”Oh, that debate? I remember that. I was-”
tot: “Like I would care?”
Traditionally, upperclasspeople scare the living bejesus out of the tinies, but we aren’t as mean as last years’. So the littlies think they can sass us. I don’t want to have to be “the avenger”, but I’m getting sick of thier inflated egos. (Ooh, I’m a big seventh grader, hear me roar! they seem to shout) They should be more respectful of us. We’re poised on the brink of..er…high school, and I’m not in any big hurry to get there.
131- I’m a tot… *sticks tongue out* I’m eleven.
117: I think Utopia also implies something unachievable and perfect, of any situation. Either that or my class teacher last year was a total moron, something I had already contemplated being the case.
As for Don McLean, I think the song is a reference to many different rock and pop musicians before him, and their fates. I think. There’s a great video on youtube that gives a pretty good feeling… And if you wan’t some songs that are hard to understand, check out some Sonata Arctica.
I am allowed to post on Fridays. Only.
All comments saved until then…
Hakudemon (130),
I’ve heard of googlewhacking. I could see getting obsessed with coming up with some. Luckily I’m not.
*heads to google with the words hornswoggle and pseudorandom*
Oh well. No googlewhack there. I got 45 hits.
132: Yes, but you’re a tot who acknowledges that she is a tot. Which is infinitely preferable to the sevvies at my skool.
Rosanne (135),
I just g-whacked with tensegrity + Malvolio. The one hit was someplace that sells college term papers.
Robert, you’ve got a knack for googlewhack!
I play a game that’s the opposite. The google game. Developed by moi and friends autumn, alicia, rach, and i think possibly megan in middle skool study hall. Any number of players. Player one picks one word and all the players (including player one) think of four other words to put with that one word and see who can get the most hits. +, -, and quotation marks are allowed. i mostly play with jacob now because he’s usually the only other person bored enough to play.
it can be pretty fun and kind of addicting.
You tell those sevvies Ötzi. Sevvies are nobodys. Even worse than frosh. Schmack them!
It’s kind of weird…i’m always like “pwn the freshman n00bs! schmackage!” but i never do because i’m friends with most of them. I blame latin. Dan and i were skipping math once after the band thing (it wasn’t technically skipping, we had a pass for the whole period but schneids told us to go back halfway through anyway) and we ran into some of the freshies-carolynn, ellison, alex, and that drummer who i think is named aaron but i’m not sure. anyway, we stopped and i talked (and stole the latin hw from ellison, after carolynn was done with it anyway) and dan’s like “how do you know all the freshmen?” and i’m like “they’re all in my latin class. ALL of them.” Which is true. Except for cheese, michelle, and megan. michelle and megan apparantly grew up with other ppl in my coterie and cheese was a friend of sarah’s somehow when she lived in whitehall. But all the rest of them are in latin. Oh, the drummer who i think is named aaron isn’t either. but i don’t really know him.
I should be doing my journalism story. I have to leave in about 45 min. because dad’s coming home at 1:30 and i have to be in bed or he’ll be like “rar” Although i have to get out of bed at around 2-ish so i can finish history. But anyway, point is the story’s so frickin confusing, i can’t understand at all what i’m supposed to be focusing on. There are about fifty million bazillion changes going on in the math dept. i think i’ve found the most important, but now i’m getting weird almost-conflicting messages from the peer edit sheets. And i’ll probably end up just being “oh screw it it only counts for completion this time” again and that means i’ll have to work triple hard on the final.
Must go. think i hear mater.
For googlewhacking, I did Microsoft+Merrells. Didn’t work. Apparently, there’s someone called John Merrells who works for Microsoft.
me homeyscholled and am about to practice ninjutsu
muse rulz no question abot it
142, 143: And those blong in the november feast thread.
Another fun google game is to type in ” (your name) is a” and see what google tells you you are.
Fexofenadine hydrochloride, the active ingredient of ALLEGRA, is a histamine …
Taken from FrigidSymphony’s idea, which incidentally is great.
We should have a “Fun Things To Do On Google” thread.
Another silly thing with Google.
Type in “The Answer to Life The Universe And Everything” without the quotation marks.
And without the “The”.
127- True if they’re consciously trying to emulate high schoolers, but if it’s not a facade, and they’re really that mature, more power to them. Don’t insult seventh graders in general. If you have a specific clique, explain who it is you dislike.
131- They do sound disrespectful, but not all seventh graders are like that!!! And don’t call them “littlies”. I am a young eighth grader, but I could as easily be an old seventh grader, and I find this anti-seventh-grader vibe insulting. I have friends who are seventh graders!
Everyone else: I will now go type random things into Google because I can.
96- Cool! You guys must be pretty good. What kind of music do you play? Wait, nevermind, just found it in another post. I wiah I could play guitar… not that flute isn’t cool and all, but there’s limits to what can be done on a flute. Like more than one note at a time. And people don’t listen to a lot of flute music. *sigh* Now I have a Jethro Tull song stuck in my head. You know Fridge, you keep reminding me of this kid in my science class. A lot. But I don’t live in Switzerland. So you’re not the same person. But you do remind me of him. Oddment.
116- That reminds me of somthing my band director told us the other day…”Ahhh! Who played in that rest? *glares at saxes* Plying there is like…like setting th footbal feild on fire. And the school. And then beating it out with dead puppies.”
O.o
Heeey, I just realized that the stupid little 6th grades who showed up at book group for no reasona nd were all like “we are so better than you, look at our popular and to-small clothes and blah blah blah” are going to be freshmen when we’re seniors. Oh, sweet revenge…
going to try the google whacking now. Somehow I belive the word “Antepenultimate” will be included
I can kind of imagine FS playing some completely different, very much heavy metal song at the Mayor’s wife’s 60th birthday, and her saying “oh, my” alot. It’s kind of an amusing image.
wot’s your band called?
(I’m just being nosy. You don’t need to answer that)
Our band’s called “FrigidSymphony”, cuz it’s a kickass name. And actually, what we did at the party and what we’re going to do at the next one is to take 60s and 70s songs and play them in a heavy metal way. So imagine Sympathy for the Devil or Cat Steven’s Wild World with lots and lots and lots of heavy distortion and insane guitar solos.
and about the flute, you can do great stuff with it! Go listen to Eluveitie for an example, you can find stuff on their myspace page.
I wanna be in a band.. *cries* j/k.
My dad has a band. He playes at weddings and suchlike, just covers. He’s also opening a restaurant/bar/recording studio with two of his friends. *squee*
144- I do that sometimes, There are actually about 5 hits that are really about me, the other million or so are about other people. There’s one teenager just a little older than me, and an important Ph.D and some old people mentioned in geneology websites.
152- oooh my…*imagines songs* Oh my indeed. But it would sound cool, I must admit. Eluveitie? Sounds interesting. I’m not alowed on MySpace, but I will google them and see if I can find somthing to listen to.
144- I’ve done this too. Don’t get anything though(about me)
I do get something if I google The Insane Blue Sage though.
149-haha, we did set the football field on fire. Stupid people. They should be coming back to skool soon..actually i think two of them are switching to st. charles and one’s coming back…
omgz brain dead theater ugh.
i’m 4500 words behind in nano.
on the plus side, i got to wear a schmexy beret for most of the day. And read heinlein. Wearing heinlein whilst eating tootsie rolls and wearing a schmexy beret…that is my life. you know you’re jealous.
Reading heinlein. Sorry. I’m not going to go back and fix it because i found it amusing and because the mouse is far far away (meaning two inches from my hand but whatev)
gah, i have science to do.
152-i seriously want to hear you guys play…i’m stalking you to switzerland now…*stalks*
When i google myself, i get more hits about me with ebeth than with elizabeth. With my full name i get an actress who was in tale of two cities, and a company that makes rugs. Go me.
Monica said she wanted to make me into a girl today *flees in terror* she was like “you have a figure, show it off because you’re making me mad” and i’m like *meep* and she’s like “ask bill and sarah, i totally made them into girls too” and i was like “umm…no thanks” This came up because i got a medium show shirt instead of a small. And the show shirts are so fugly! They’re this hideous green and they made like three spelling errors and they forgot ross completely! So we had to bring out the sharpies. We fixed Malach
ai and MichellePRosen and Katharine McCart(h)y and Marika Breastler. And China was like “I’m halfway down the list, what’s up with that!?!” so we drew an arrow from her name to the top because china’s kewl. And we had to add Ross, the AD (of all people not to get on the list! the AD! cwazy shirt-maker people)must go catch up on nano. did i mention that i’m 4500 words behind? Yah. my story’s degenerated into utter randomness. I just spent two pages talking about s’mores. Ah, nano…
Isn’t Googling yourself called something?
I’ve heard it called “ego surfing.”
“I get a kick out of stroking my-”
“Woah, you can’t say that on TV!”
“What, ego?”
“Nevermind…”
and Jadestone, you can visit their myspace music page wtithout having to sign up or anything on myspace…
99–Skeekit is definitely the shard of glass. It’s all pointy and jagged. But skeekit is yellowish-green, so that doesn’t make sense unless the glass is yellowish-green. And woogle is purple with small gold rings and nubbly, but since it’s sort of rounded that makes it closer to an egg.
120–I read that…er…losing track of time…less than a month ago. I think. It was tres drole et interessant.
130ish–If you put two words that googlewhacked on a website such as this one, doesn’t that mean that they’ll come up in that site if you search again?
I think I found a googlewhack! (zyzzva twig) Does it count if it says “relevant results omitted”?
(161),
Good point! Merely by announcing a googlewhack, you ruin it for anyone else. That’s appealing, in an odd way.
a googlewhack is what?
[See message 130. –Robert]
I’m on my sister’s account, so I’m not using my full, beautiful title.
BUT….
I GOT SO CLOSE TO A GOOGLEWHACK!!
Waaah…..
And I am sick today, so this will provide me with hours of amusement.
Muse pigwiffle……
(me random)
I diiid it! I diiid it! I diiiiiiiiiiiid it! I found a Googlewhack!
Remove the spaces between the letters and there ya go, my two words.
g e r o n t o c r a c y
and
V a s c o n g a d a s
163- Yet another good point.
Sara and Molly were absent today yet again. I had to subside on bits of Julia at recess. People say pneumonia’s going around, and Jutyum was coughing like hell today. Gaah. I had it already tho, so I might have a nice immunity to it.
Can you use two words from 2 different languages for a googlewhack?, or is that cheating?
Well… “pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcaniconiosis percolator” is one. But I sort of think it’s cheeting to use that word. But ya.
†FS†– I listened to some of that folkmetel you mentioned. It’s cool. I like one I found on YouTube, it was called ‘of fire, wind, and water’ or somthing like that. Especally the opener. What was that instrument the girl was playing at the beginging? It was cool.
oooh, ‘anthrophobic florists’ is one. Anthrophobic means fear of flowers. Mwahahaha.
I wonder if I can make a googlewhack? Like, if type quenaco lalala (no hits) and it gets moderated, then I google it…?
I just successfully Googlewhacked with “zyzzyva hypernova.”
FS- It’s cool about your band. i have a friend who -can’t- plays the keyboard for her friends band. They are called the Mudfish. I have no clue what sort of music they play but it’s all cool.
I had to kill my pet last night. *sob* -Mercy killing- She was starving to death, there being no food left. All she eats is oak leaaves. All the oaks are dead around here. I had a stick insect called Palita. She was four inches long and totaly awesome. I declare 11/16 a day of mourning. *sobs*
still waiting…So far i’ve gotten as low as 80 with inquisitory phylum.
darn
zumblebug is a googlewhack. google asked if I ment tumblebug. Sorry about doubleposting…
When you googlewhack, is it supposed to be in quotes or not?
Was that too short for this thread? If it was, will someone answer my question anyway? *does puppy dog face*
Random comment (sorry): I want to learn how to type in DVORAK. Can anyone? Does anyone have a DVORAK keyboard?
Just googled myself because I was curious. My real name, in quotes, 1 result, a picture I drew when I was like 5 that my mother put on this website she had. I remember doing it once out of quotes and getting the science fair website with last year’s winners, though. I googled “curious and questioning” and the second link was the November birthday thread.
I read a Heinlein book today. I started last night, and read a little in today’s extremely unproductive science, a lot in lunch, between lunch and band, some while not playing in band, in the hallway, after the Italian quiz for like half the period, on the bus to math, in the hallway to math, before math between periods, and finished it after the math quiz. The Puppet Masters.
172- I mourm for your insect, but I didn’t see the post before.
So this post isn’t pointless, I will ask a question. Why is the sky blue? Then I will answer it. Our atmosphere lets more shorter wavelengths through. We can’t see purple without some red, though, so it’s blue.
176- Nope, I’ve got Qwerty. As dear old DA said, it’s a very odd feeling to type out that word.
Hey, FS, does you’re band write its own songs besides rock-izing old ones? You should post them on the Poems/Songs thread if you do. Just type it in the search box.
why isnt any 1 on???????
(172) *sends flowers*
(176) I think Queenie has one. If she drops by this thread she may have an answer.
*apologies for the double post*
(130) Yes and Yes. I hate people calling me smart. Exactly what you said… I feel stupid and uncomfortable. Or when they want to compare test grades on something and they got bad grade and I got a 100%. It’s like…I’m not smarter, I just pay attention…
And I like to procrastinate by googlewhacking.
Guess what? I just did a googlewhack! Does it count if it’s a word that you didn’t know exsisted?
“gopolisi c” (without the quotation marks) gives you only one result. Woot!
Another one: Xinxang archaeologist. 1 and a half in one day! W00t!
Sorry to triple post, but does redorangeyellowgreenblueindigoviolet count as one word? Because if it does, here’s another googlewhack:
redorangeyellowgreenblueindigoviolet typewriters
And another:
Schedule tuesdaymay8th
Some of these are, well, maybe stretching it a little, but still…hee hee…
184-1 and 1/2?!
186 – Heehe. I meant one that works, and one that might be a bit stretching it, making it one half.
When I google my name (using all of the forms, in quotation marks- “X OR Y OR Z Mylastname”), I get 62 results, and I think that all except four are me.. The joys of living in a small town where _everything_ is reported in the local newspaper..
what’s a googlewhack?
189-it’s on post 130
Ooh! Another one! Love trigenomotry! I don’t care that it’s spelled wrong, it works! Here’s one my friend found:
Markayla hooting
I got one with only two results too, but not one.
This thread seems to have mutated into the November Feast.
I’ve tried to google myself before when I was really bored. A couple were me, but most were credits for some woman who translates books. Weird. ANYWAY I’m really procrastinating because I should be studying for this HUGE A2A test we have tomorrow. 192- It isn’t november feast because the posts have a common subject, Googlewhacking. I tried to googlewhack, I got three results for one. Whats really weird is that I was getting desperate and typed in “stickynote nosehair” and I got over 10,000 results.
‘Ello.
*Skims thread*
A google-wha…? *giggle*
So…What is everyone doing for Thanksgiving?
Why do people have Turkey for Thanksgiving? I know it’s traditional and everything, but like, 80% of everyone doesn’t like turkey that much anyway, and everyone bickers over the dark meat, and it makes us sleepy, so feasts end up with exausted people bickering over stuff they don’t really want. Please don’t examine the logic of that last statement too closely. Even if it doesn’t make sense, it can be true. To see the complete explanation of truth vs. factuallity, see Life of Pi.
194- I’m going to our great aunt and uncle’s house for Thanksgiving.. Yay! I really can’t wait for pumpkin pie.
195- Because it’s tradition. I don’t know why or how, but it is and people don’t like breaking traditions, no matter how much they hate them.
194- I’m eating at home with my nuclear family and anyone else we can think of to ask. We usually have a family from our church over, but they can’t come this year, so it’s just us. We usually have turkey (sliced up to soak in a brine, cooked with seasonings, etc. my mom is a good cook), stuffing mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, peas, apple pie, pumpkin pie, and ice cream.
197- What’s a nuclear family?
We’re going to Michigan (Detroit) to see my grandparents. We might go to Canada to have yummy Chinese food. Not for Thanksgiving, of course. Usually we go to my cousin Marlene’s house in state, but she’s having the party at a restaurant this year instead of at her house. And my grampa has cancer so we want to see him.
194-We always go over to my Grandma’s house for Thanksgiving. It’s just Grandma and my immediate family, so it’s not as big as many thanksgiving dinners, but it’s fun.
I tried googling my name in several different ways:
My first name and last name had about 1,080,000 results. I’m way too lazy to go through all of them, but none of the first few were about me. Most of them seem to be about a dancer.
my first, middle and last name produced 512,000 again I didn’t look at them all, but none of the first several were me.
My first, middle, and last name together and in quotation marks produced only 2 results, but neither are me.
I have therefore concluded that my name is way too common and that, although there are many other people who have stolen my name, I myself do not exist.
(199) But at least emmatheduck exists.
I just tried hacking into my own computer. For fun, you know. Its quite easy to get into someone else’s account. Also, let’s see what happens when I deletle my username cookie….
nothing. weird.
201, 202- Oh-kay… ??
My name is absolutely uncommon. And pretty.
I’m going to Bay City for thanksgiving. Uncle Dan’s coming, and i think uncle john. Don’t think the conners are though *snibble* that’d be my girl-buddy cousin catherine (my only girl cousin on my mom’s side) and my h4xx0r cousin michael who fixes comps for fun.
192-have to agree. i see a lot of one-sentence posts here. Mraaaah! Ph43r 73h wr47h 0f 73h 3837h! (i love how my name in 1337 only has one letter in it. XD)
Weisman’s passed 40k already on nano! Ach!!!! Noo! He’s insane! Must catch up! Gaaah!
I’m still 5k behind. i’m gonna do a bit more tonight though. but not too much, cuz i told parentals i’d go to bed at 10. which means i have to at least get off the comp at 10.
Two-day week this week. How much do the rest of you have off?
That’s really all i have to say. It’s a bit random-threadish itself, so i guess i can’t pie you guys for that. Oh well.
194- I’m going to visit my aunt and Uncle and their neighbors like my family does every year! It’s fun! There’s this really big bookstore near where they live and I go there every year. I’m looking forward to it.
I’ve googled my name before. I occasionally come up with me as I run cross country and am in results for that but usually I also come up with this woman who paints watercolours’ website.
204- Oh cool a h4xx0r cousin. That’s me to my cousins and pretty much everyone I know.
We’re staying home this year. My dad really doesn’t want to drive to new Jersey. If we did, we’d see my very young looking grandmother, my epileptic uncle and his 2nd wife(his daughter, 1 of only 2 first cousins, I have only seen maybe once in the last three years), probably my fathers cousins Jamie and Jeff+Jeff’s new(2nd) wife Kim, and maybe my other uncle and his son (wedlock) Somehow, my family is not really conventional. Actually, my mom and dad are the only ones of their family-generation to stay married w/kids(my mom’s sister’s isn’t married) . I love my family, but they’re sort of weird. My great Aunt Bunny always cooks the exact same meal every thanksgiving, dry turkey, sweet potatoes with marshmallows that nobody ever eats and all the other thanksgiving stuff, with carrot cake for desert. Yes, carrot cake. Instead, I mentioned to my mother that I thought lumpy mashed potatoes were better than smooth ones, and that we could probably make them ourselves. Somehow, when she told this to my dad, he thought that we had decided we would cook the whole thing from scratch, instead of getting the premade one from giant like we usually do when we stay home. Now, we have whole cranberrys and I have no idea how to make anything that even vaguely resembles cranberry sauce out of them and a giant sack of potatoes. But its ok, I love to cook. And I’m making a pecan pie from scratch, including the crust. I’m making myself hungry.
Hello Kiki. I just scrolled wierd and picked posts to reply to and threr all from you. Wierd
118-Try Isaac Asimov
146-Awesome. Google “Faliure” but click the “I’m Felling Lucky Button”
203-We’re all nerds. I’m a computer nerd. I probably should have put that on the Random thread, but I was trying to post through source codey stuff. Its hard.
Gah. I should never start a long thread at the beginning and read from there, I always end up feeling angry when I want to reply to the eons-dead topics. However, I will respond to a few earlier topics, and then move on to the current ones.
First: Disobeying in the theater- As a firm participator in theater, I know that it is /not/ okay to run amok during rehearsal, no matter how large your role, acting talents, or ego. Just ask you director to do what mine always do, cut the running-amoker out of scenes one-by-one, until s/he get’s the idea.
Book characters- Augusten Burroughs. I read “Running With Scissors” way back when I was eleven (my mother did not approve), and that remains to be my favorite book, and Burroughs my favorite author. However, it is a memoir (as are his other books, excluding “Sellevision”), not fiction, as the majority of you chose. It is quite, uh, ‘descriptive’, so you may want to avoid reading it in front of parental units. It is still the number one nonfiction paperback on the New York Times best seller list.
149. Today on our announcements (we have a TV screen, and we only use the intercom in case there’s a technical error), there were two people talking about the bake sale for some club and the guy goes, “And remember, every time you don’t buy from a bake sale, God kills a kid. So do it for the kids.”
195- Thanksgiving is the one day and I eat meat, so I’ve been looking forward to it for a while. Of course, we only eat free-range, cruelty-free turkeys. Unfortunately, I haven’t eaten meat in almost a year, so I won’t be able to have very much.
Ego-surfing- I tried my full name in quotes, nothing. So, out of curiousity, I tried my (late) father’s name, and came up with several pictures of a man who looked strikingly like my father. Quite an experience.
What does the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button do?
Well, I’ll probably have a rather boring Thanksgiving. My family + a few relatives are going to meet at my aunt + uncle’s house for dinner. But my aunt’s an amazing cook…I’m really looking forward to the sweet potatos (The type she makes have pecans + brown sugar mixed in…*Is dreamy for a second*); hopefully she’ll decide to make some. And maybe my cousins will bring a lemon meringue pie againe…Okay, time to get my mind off food.
Tomorrow will be cool, though. It’s my last day of Drivers’ Ed (Seg II), so I’ll be ready to take my road test soon *Is nauseous for a bried moment*. Then I’ll finally have a chance to pick up my paychecks…and I’m definitely going to cash both of them + buy an iPod!! I went to Best Buy the other day to see what they have…They have the neon pink, metallic nano. Man, am I ever excited.
Is there a questions thread somewhere? I don’t really go on November Feast as often as on this thread, so I’m posting questions here.
If I figure out one of the GAPA’s usernames and get WordPress to email me a new password, will I gain the mystical Administrator powers? I was reading the Ask The GAPAs thread, and it mentioned the Login button, and I clicked it since I’m curious, and it had a screen with username and password, then I clicked Forgot Password and it said to type in your username and email and we’ll email you a new password. I’m not doing more tonight, but there’s no school tomorrow. I could be evil and procrastinate on my lab and huge project and unlock the mysteries of WordPress. I might lock the GAPAs out of the system if I’m lucky.
But probably not; the consequences could be potentially fatal for a Museblog addict like myself.
Hi, curious and questioning,
This thread is a good place to post questions. But we might not answer them — especially if the answers could lead to a meltdown of the MuseBlog as we know it!
my q about that is, have you updated the email or is it the same email address you had at the beginning of the blog? because they’re different. And also, is username the same as display name on wordpress, or no? This could be quite interesting…*evil cackle*
210-Sends you to the first hit. You’ve never tried it before?
Ebeth, you can do it, so it won’t be my fault when you break Museblog. I was going to click login, then lost your password, then type in username rcoontz and my email address and see what happened, but I’m afraid of the potential consequenses. you’re probably as deserving of omniscient power as I am, and if it works, everyone can do it.
[We haven’t made it quite that easy for you. –Robert]
My name without quotes yields results, some of which contain Olivia Newton-John.
With quotes, I get the school honour roll.
Speaking of the buttons, I’m going to go to Kevin Potts’ website and see if I can convince him to make a new HBP icon. Mwahaha. Who’s with me for new icons?
I won’t be evil. Today…
Icons are good. I have a Kokopellihedron on most of my notebooks.
A new discussion topic.
What is that big ball that is always a few inches behind Urania in the margins of the articles? I have already written in to Muse magazine about it, and here is their response.
“That’s a mighty good question, let’s see if the Muses will answer.”
Watch the letters column, but in the meantime, theories welcome.
Absolutly no idea. Some possibilities
1. Giant yarn ball
2. extremely small (or large, depending on how you think about it) astronomy related thing. Ask Mr. Gonick.
My pie leaked. I’m very sad.
I think it’s a star map. You know, like a map of the stars but round. Just my idea–I may be right but I may be wrong. (Ooh! Billy Joel!)
221-Sorry for ya, kid. Want the extremely involved process I learned from my mother the food stylist? It isn’t hard, it’s just complicated.
220- her hair? The thing with the red ribbons? That’s her hair, in a sort of bun-like thing. Or are you talking about something else?
I think it’s her hair too. I wasn’t sure what you were talking about at first, let me get a muse out… Yeah, that’s her hair up in a bun. In the January issues with the ‘meet the muses’ bit it’s the ame color as her hair, so I’m pretty sure it is.
I thought it was a big planet mabobber.
224, 223- NOT her hair. The big blue ball at her feet. It never appears in Koko & Co., but it always turns up when she’s in the margins.
It looks astronomy-related, so it goes with Urania is my first reaction, but of course now you’ll actually find out that it’s something else and I’m completely wrong again. A model of one of the planets?
222- Sure. Just so you know what your getting into, I had baked a pecan pie from scratch, complete with crust straight out of JOC, but when you cut into it, sweet goop comes out, coating the tray. Its ok, it still tastes good. It’s really hopeless, though. I like to bake, but every time I try to make anything complicated, something goes wrong. Like the cheesecake with 1 1/2 cups of cream instead of 1/2. Sigh.
I can’t believe i never noticed that ball before. I just searched the margins of a few issues and discovered that she sometimes has a ball, though not always. Anyway i googled and discvered that each of the greek muses had a symbol, and Urania’s symbol is a globe.
I see. Thank you for your research, Emmatheduck.
So many good threads that I loved a lot are being lost. Nobody ever visits them anymore. This is, for me, a serious matter. Could we have a thread to discuss what should be returned to full thread power.
Ebeth is back and full of toikey! She really has nothing to say about Urania’s big blue ball (whoo, alliteration!) So yep. Now that that’s been settled by emmatheduck’s lovely googling, what should we discuss?
whay about her stick?
hi ebethy!
Oh, sorry guys. I thought this was the random thread. Um, yeah. You can zap that last comment for non-captitalization.
Guess who found another googlewhack!
q u i n t e s s e n t i a
s o y b e a n ! Tastefully posted here with spaces so as not to ruin the googlewhack for ye others.
I just found a googlewhack!!!! Squeee!
oohilov!!! I dont’ think that’s a real word as i found it with a bunch of computer gibberish. Oh well.
236- I googled it. It was wierd.
231-Isn’t that basically what the ‘visit these threads’ thread is for?
I’ve been trying to think of a good topic for discusion but I can’t come up with anything good. Anyone else have ideas?
Topic- Why we do what we do. Why am I posting this even though all reason and sanity dictates that I should be asleep? Why do I challenge my teachers’ generalities when they’re trying to give basic explanations of things I know in intimate detail? The questions that are almost as deep as the Ultimate Question, but can’t be answered with 42. Why? Why not?
The simple answer is – because you can.
Because when you get the chance to do somthing on your own without the influence of others, you’re doing somthing for yourself. Not because anyone told you or it’s for a homework assignment or somthing. You get to choose what you want to do, and no one can make you do somthing you don’t want to do unless you let them, technicly. Because you get really bored in class and want to start a disscusion, or have fun, or are bored and want a change. Or are procrastinating on homework.
That’s probably it. I’m trying not to get reprimanded by the PoPoPo, so I will add something else. Mom updated Internet Explorer, and MuseBlog looks different. The font, and there are boxes next to the names with the lines, not question marks. Anyone know why? Yes, I’ve heard Firefox is better, you don’t need to start talking about it. Internet Explorer’s good enough. Or it was, at least. I want my bar with File Edit … back. To Control Panel !
I have successfully provided a motivation for everything I do in either rebelion or food. How’s that for an answer?
It has been more than twenty four hours since anyone has posted here. I am crying huge tears and they are falling onto the keyboard and damaging it.
242. What are with the question marks? I’m using Firefox and they show up. Firefox is the most excellent web browser ever, so they can’t be a mistake.
Arg. I know that all y’all in the midwest area pretty excited about snow days coming up, but I am not. Tomorrow was supposed to be both Knowledge Master Open (KMO = the best thing ever after Muse. My school DESTROYS at KMO) and a scholar’s bowl (scholar’s bowl = the best thing ever after Muse and KMO) tournament. Fate is cruel.
244- I am excited about the snowdays whats wrong with that?
Nothing, just don’t gloat.
You have snow???!! It’s not even raining here! It was nearly 70 degrees today (record-settingly warm). Lucky. Last year there was a snow day Dec. 6. I’m holding out hope.
