Oh, why not?
The history of this thread is a bit tangled, as is the numbering of previous MM threads. To see what has already been posted, go to

Hey! Did I get first post? I hope so! fr00dy!
Muse Movie!?!?!?
I heard that it’s going to be a CG-animated version of Attack of the Smart Pies. Details, veterans?
1 – The popopo will hunt you down.
2- NOOOOOO! Not CGI! I hate it. It’s so… computery.
I need to get a copy of Atack of the Smart Pies. I’ve never read it, due to the depressing fact that our library doesn’t have it. (And probably never will.)
1 – GAPAs, aren’t you not supposed to let that stuff get posted? *fines Donaldo 1 piece of virtual choklit*
I’ve made little horribly-animated flash videos about the muses. Maybe I should send them in…
We’re torn between our duty to the blog and our desire to keep the PoPoPo supplied with virtual chocolate.
I am afraid. I am very afraid of how their voices will sound!
Not to pour cold water on this thread, but the other Administrators and I know of no plans to make a Muse movie. So far it’s just a gleam in the eyes of future screenplayer writers on the blog.
Well, perhaps I shall write a screenplay for it someday. Or perhaps not. Perhaps we MBers can all get together and make a movie somehow.
Larry has always talked more about animated cartoons for TV. Nowadays, though, I think they’d be right at home on the Web. I can imagine something like “Potter Puppet Pals.” (Hm… I wonder if the PPP people might be interested. Maybe I’ll ask.)
I share Cappy’s concern about voices. We probably all have different ideas of how the Muses sound.
What does the first link have to do with the Muse movie? I can’t find anything related. Also why was “part two” started months after “part 2”?
(10),
– Our mistake.
– Just the usual MuseBlog cathassus.
Ah, shweetness! I doubt it’s going to actually be made into a movie, and Cedar apears to have left, so it’s pretty much died. In my ‘spare time’ *coughprocrastinationcough* I was sort-of putting the script Cedar wrote into the right format, but i didn’t get very far. Does on of those links go the the script? Let me see…
I just read http://www.musefanpage.com/blog/?p=205 . CEDAR IS DOWNRIGHT OBSESSED WITH THE MUSE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!
13-we know. what happened to him anyhoo?
The last time he posted, he was about to travel from Alaska to Los Angeles. Maybe he’s “gone Hollywood.” If so, the next time we see his name could be in a list of movie credits.
Suggestion – if nobody’s going to make a proper MUSE movie, why don’t you lot make one right here? It would be much like the RRR thread, but starring the Muses. And everyone has to supply elaborate stage directions, so we can all imagine the action.
PPP is so fr00dy!!!!! it would b awesome if we could mak = a muse movie, PPP style!

16 – A Muse Movie RRR!!! PHENOMINALLY AWESOME IDEA!!!
16- YES!!! Let’s!
16- I’m up for it. (hey- you signed in! Normally you don’t that I’ve noticed)
16-PB&J YOU ARE A GENIOUS!! *pust hand in circle* It can be an RRM (round robin movie)!!!
umm…no mor postz?…odd…
21 – Or a “Round Robin Reel”.
21,22- Or an MMM (Many Muser’s Movie)
sounds fun but like the gapas will have to start musetube, youtube for musers for it to work. that to much work for them me think
24 – or a FFF “fun fan film”
So let’s have it already!
27 – Exactly what I was thinking. Let’s get this going! I’ll start.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Narrarator: Once upon a time…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry, I’m not really inspired at the moment.
a muse MOVIE????!!!!!! no way! the voice talents would probably be HORRIBLE
29 – Maybe the Muses could speak in Muse, an unknown language, and there could be silent subtitles.
then you wouldnt have to worry about how out of place things are…or it could be a silent movie(not necessarely in black and white)
yeah…but that girl they help would have to speak, wouldn’t she?
holy darn heck this place is abandoned
33- In a nutshell, yes.
speaking of attack of the smart pies, i think that…
if you have not read the book, don’t read past this lineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…when.emma’s.mind.was.erased.it.was.like.the.mindwipe.in.artemis.fowl
ok. GAPAs? this is pretty much a dead thread now, as E2MB suggests. let’s start on another HG2MB one now.
helloooooooooo…GAPAs?
wow, even the GAPAs don’t notice us!
we’re on the road to extinction…
Can we do a Muse Movie for people who haven’t read AOTSP? How about it tells the origin of the Muses? Yeah. And there will have to be a villain. I suggest Pinkus Bunniesloverus.
40- Yes, yes, and yes!
I’ll write a tentative screenplay, if that’s OK.
AEIOU is walking down a sidewalk in Ulaanbataar, reading a paper with headline “MORE BOMBINGS IN…” followed by a word obscured by AEIOU’s hand. She suddenly stops and rips the paper in half, tossing it into a nearby garbage bin. She turns and sits down on a bench, head in her hands.
A van drives up and stops near her. CHAD sticks his head out the window.
CHAD: Need a lift?
to be continued…
yay! people are posting here again!
AEIOU nods, opens the door and steps in.
Fade to: view through windshield of van. AEIOU is in the passenger seat, with CHAD driving.
AEIOU waves her sleeves.
CHAD: I came here to visit you, of course! We haven’t seen each other since graduate school!
AEIOU is still. CHAD glances over at her.
CHAD: You look a little down. What’s up?
AEIOU waves her sleeves.
CHAD: Yeah, I know the world’s in a mess, but what are you going to do?
AEIOU waves her sleeves.
CHAD: Well, if there is something, what is it?
Fade to: view of a tidy apartment. AEIOU is sitting on the couch drinking tea. CHAD is flipping through a magazine.
AEIOU waves her sleeves.
CHAD: It’s a sort of history periodical. I brought it from America. Here.
He hands it to AEIOU. The cover says SPECIAL EDITION: GREEK MYTHS.
VOICE-OVER: The Nine Muses were believed to inspire human beings in certain areas of the arts. This kept them civilized and prevented them from reverting back to their ancient barbarity.
AEIOU puts a hand to her chin, thinking.
CHAD: Hey, remember that nanotechnology project we did in grad school? Intelligent Air! (laughs) A means to communicate with people all over the world! Remember what the professor called it? “Brilliant, but impractical!”
Close-up of AEIOU’s face. She is breathing quickly.
MAN’S VOICE: More bombings in…
WOMAN’S VOICE: …prevented them from reverting to barbarity…
CHAD’S VOICE: …communicate with people all over the world…
movie go’s to black
as the movie comes up we see CHAD at a podem. we see the OLD MUSES behind him.
CHAD: hello. we are looking for 7 peple who exlel in there craft.
…
i’m righting up a screen play!
you know, if we do this thf and pp shold repise there roles from the first musecast!
Hello. I’m back.
Thank you by the way Jadestone, for converting my script samples into the proper format. I have learned some things about the actual way in which scripts are written, but I’m not sure if they will fit onto the small space provided for posts.
But then again, you’ve done it, so why not.
It’s good to be back.
PS: And no Robert I haven’t been “To Hollywood.”
49- OMG!!! Where HAVE you been, anyway?
why don’t we just do a screenplay for attack of the smart pies?
Let’s just say that I’ve been away for personal reasons, and leave it at that. Rest assured that it has nothing to do with any of you.
51- Not everybody has read it.
TMFA- Are you writing a separate screenplay from mine, or the same one? I know I’ve neglected mine, but I kind of had a plan for it.
Also- I know that the AOTSP screenplay has seniority over the origin screenplay. I only started mine because everyone was gone and I hadn’t read AOTSP, but now that Cedar’s back, I can stop putting installments on this thread if you guys think it will be distracting.
54-mine is seperet from yours. it is based on AOSTP.
I haven’t read Attack of the Smart Pies. And my library doesn’t have it.
55- OK.
56- I’m not alone! Finally! If you have any ideas for my script, I’d be glad to take them.
Maybe the GAPAs should make the title “Muse Movies.”
52- You’re back! *pies* Welcome.
Oh, I’ve gotten all of scene one in proper format, I’ve swtched from word and am using Celtex now though. It’s much easier.
Thanks Jadestone.
And hello to you as well.
I haven’t had much time to work on the MM script lately. But I’ll be curious to see what other Musebloggers think of.
Oh, and just so you know, I’ve had a change of heart about including songs in the movie.
I would still hope it was live action. But I’ll be okay if it’s animated.
62- the only song is at the end,in the credits. it will be have a pie.
Hello Jadestone.
Next time you come to this thread, go over to Books and Reading part 5, and check out my post, at number 138. I hope you like it.
63- Why? It should have a soundtrack. Not to make it a musical, but music behind the scenes to play up the drama and tragedy and stuff. It’s proven that the music makes a large impact on the audience, which is wat we want.
We ahould include Have a Pie though, that would be very fun.
64- Okay, I’ll head over there now.
I haven’t read AOTSP. I like the origin idea though.
57- Maybe Urania could be the one choosing the new Muses since she’s the only original one left. There could be a bunch of people and creatures trying to be Muses and they have to prove themselves in a contest of some sort.
fade to Egyptian scene. Pwt is standing on the banks of the nile.
CHAD’S VOICE: Hello. We are looking for seven people who excel in their craft.
PWT: Hmmmm, I should go for that.
CHAD’S VOICE: If you want to become a New Muse, please come to Chicago.
fade back to Chad on podium
Fade to black.
Fade to stage. CHAD is standing at a podium, speaking. Aeiou is next to him. The backdrop of the stage says ARTISTS’ CONVENTION.
CHAD (sound slowly growing in volume until it’s at normal volume):…and so we have come to this conclusion.
Understand, if any of you sign up, this is a life-long commitment. You must give up all society except for the other eight who join. You must sacrifice all leisure for the sake of complete strangers. For what we plan to do…
CHAD trails off. To a view of the audience. A light is growing in midair, above the audience. Back to CHAD. He looks at it for a second, then resumes speaking.
CHAD:… is no less than to form a team of nine Muses.
Light increases in intensity suddenly. A chorus of voices in Greek. CHAD and AEIOU are seen flinching away from the blast of light before image whites out completely. Fade to black.
Fade in. A scene in a ruined Greek temple on a hill. CHAD and AEIOU, looking dazed, are getting up from the floor. THE NINE MUSES are standing around them.
CHAD:Who… who are you?
MUSES (in unison): We are the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, the givers of song to mankind. We are the Muses, and we have come to see who dares to usurp us.
AEIOU waves her sleeves.
CHAD(whispers): I quite agree. I don’t think either of us knew what we were getting into.
I will be absent for a few weeks.
But I have not abandoned you.
I’ll still have a bit more time here.
69- you have abondoned us. we do not care for you.
70- That was kinda mean… Why do you say that?
71- sorry!
71-I am not sure.
I like the scene in 68 a lot. That would be very cool to see on screan, and it’s an idea something many musers have probably wondered about.
URANIA: Wait, sisters. (pauses.) You know, we really aren’t that current anymore. I mean, what sort of artists still write epic poetry? Maybe it’s time to let in some new blood.
OTHER MUSES: Urania. We’ve never approved of your newfangled ideas. For instance, that toga is far too-
URANIA: (interrupts) Please. Speaking in unison was out of fashion as soon as the Romans came along. See what I mean?
TERPSICHORE: Ever since they sent up that bloody Sputnik, you’ve been insufferable. Well, sister, since you seem so eager to let them take over, we’ll let them do so.
(other Muses join in) And you can join them!
Muses raise their hands, and a strong wind blows through the ruin. Close up of CHAD’S face squeezing his eyes shut. Zoom in, then fade to black.
Fade in. CHAD opens his eyes, still standing at the podium. He glances down to the front row. Sitting in front of him is URANIA, dressed in modern clothing but still recognizable.
CHAD (whispers to AEIOU) Number three.
I’ve never actually seen any of these. *watches them*
Hello. Just I’d let you know I’m back.
Hope everyone’s doing well.
77- Quite well, thanks. Y tù?
Yes.
Hello Cedar.
*shifty eyes*
Now that there arn’t as many people here, I say we think about having the movie live action, which is what was origanally planed. A bunch of people thought it’d be better in animation, but I’ve thought about it and I think it’d just make it seem to kid-y.
80- look. can you do a live action feather? bo? crraww? do you know how much work that is? can’t we do it like star wars/ lord of the ring? with mostly live action, with a bit of computer?
81- I agree. Live action except where it’s necessary.
81- Yes, thaat is what I want, but some people wanted completely animated, like a cartoon. I don’t like that idea nearly as much.
83- ugh. then it whould have to just be larry G.
The idea of using motion capture, like in LOTR, to create Bo, and Craww makes sense to me. I think Feather could be accomplished with a little prostetics.
I can play Kokopelli!!
86- are you famaous?
O.K. people! if we work fast on the script,we can get to the movie peoples, who need scripts due t the writer’s strike.
Anyone there? Has Cedar finally forgotten the Muse Movie?
89- are you sure you were not here before?
90- Yes. I’ve just been lurking.
Since this seems to be picking up again, I’ll work on my Muse Origin script for SF next year. Perhaps if this one is successful, we can use it as a prequel.
Wake up, thread! Where’s Cedar? Isn’t he obsessed with this?
IS CEDAR EVEN AROUND ANY MORE?
I DO NOT THINK SO.
ANY WHYS, THAT FEATHER SHOUD NOT BE MOTION CAPTIONED.
THAT IS WEIRD.
HE IS THE MUSE WHO SOULD BE DONE LIKE THAT THE MOST.
THIS HAS BEEN A CEDAR IMPRESSION.
THANK YOU!
Nope. I haven’t forgotten it. But it is true that I am a bit less obsessed with by now.
My new obsession, is a movie version of Primal Tears by Kelpie Wilson. But we won’t be able to start a thread about that, because the GAPAs said no more posts on the subject of bonobos.
Save this one of course.
But seriously, I was talking to a couple of my grown-up friends about it, and I got at least one of them, to order it on-line.
Anyone who’s at least 17 years of age, do me a favor please.
BUY THIS BOOK.
Then in about 3 or 4 months, we can start a book chat thread about it.
How’s that sound GAPAs?
Cut to a view of Aeiou’s apartment. Urania is sitting on the couch drinking tea, Chad opposite her.
CHAD: You’re kidding me. An actual Greek Muse?
URANIA: Quite. We’ve been around for thousands of years. But… (shrugs) we got out of date.
CHAD: So you expect us to believe that you…
URANIA: You saw us.
Chad sighs. The door bangs open. A view of Aeiou’s face.
CHAD: How many did you get?
Aeiou holds up her fingers in a circle. Zero.
URANIA: A recruiting drive? You aren’t going to get many around here. I believe I can help.
96- I thought you were doing that for Script Frenzy?
my script should be done on march 31.
