  1. LOL, I could give you guys a topic to discuss before I leave for Thespian Festival.

Hm. Okay. What do you want for Christmas (+ I don’t just mean gift-wise. Just anything you want to happen for Christmas)?

  2. I want to sleep and not be woken up before noon. I, unlike my family can wait to open gifts. However, the squeals of my lovely sister will pretty much kill that for me.

Oh, and I want a tablet.

Wrapped in the Non-Denominational Holiday paper from ThinkGeek.

    You?

Oh, and random point: Xmas is a secular holiday. Officially. Seperation of State and religious institutions! As in all of them. It’s horribly ironic when it’s termed “seperation of church and state,” as if the church is the only religious institution. Am I spelling religious properly? There’s no spell check in IE at school. *sigh* Seriously, though, that just dawned on me yesterday when I did my vocab words for gov’t class.

  3. I celebrate Hanukkah. Which starts on December 16th, GAPAs. Hint, hint. I’m getting a new cell phone, sewing classes, Egyptology, and a watch. I think. And maybe an iTunes gift card. I’ll think of something else… There’s just not that much I want.

  4. For the calendar, we tend not to post holidays that you can easily find out about elsewhere. (We’re not entirely consistent, but that’s the thinking.) If you want to be reminded about the Feast of the Hungry Ghosts, though, MuseBlog is definitely the place to look.

  5. I want an iPod nano. Silver, please. I’ll even take the pink one. HINT, HINT, parents!
They each now have two iPods, and I have none. They’re too selfish to give me one, though. They’ve made that very clear.
I also might want…. hmmm…. *goes to check list* well, apparantly a new alarm clock. And some socks.

  6. You all wait until Christmas, or Hanukkah to celebrate? Ha ha! I have found a truer religion which celebrates the whole month of December! Today begins the Pastafarian holiday of Holiday, endorsed by like, every greeting card company ever, and which is way better than any other winter holiday just because it is longer. While you wait, I revel.

Does anyone else hate how materialistic our world has become, especially around Christmas? I want a lot of stuff, sure, but I’m pretty happy without that stuff too. I would really rather save up to buy things than wait helplessly for the once a year gift giving time, when I may or may not get kind of sort of what I want.

  7. 6: No. As I am in no way religious, but a pure realist and on some levels an egotist, Xmas for me is just an opportunity to reel in some cds. and guitar equipment

  8. I wish to comment that it was 65-70 degrees this morning and still isn’t that cold even with the rain this afternoon. The December Delirium thread cartoon lies!

I want more time off school for Christmas. We have to go back to school on January 2, and we don’t get any time off the week before.

  9. #7- Yes, certainly. I tend to get books and sleep on Holidays. I sometimes get cool stuff but there is really nothing I really want. I have a lot of stuff and I never play with it because I have a lot more stuff. So I don’t need any more stuff. In fact I need less stuff.

  10. I always like books, and other intellectual things like that.

4 – (GAPA) What is the Feast of the Hungry Ghosts?

*thinks about what a silly question that is and looks it up on the ever-happy wiki*

Quoting from Wiki: Feast of Hungry Ghosts Appease the restless spirits by burning paper and food offering by the roadsides for it is said that during this month, the ghosts are freed from the underworld and is free to roam the world every year for a lunar month. This festival also feature local celebrations such as Chinese opera.

I still don’t understand it. Help?

  11. 6- Yes. I mean, everyone just FREAKS OUT over what they want for Christmas. My aunt and uncle don’t celebrate Christmas. I know why. The odd thing is, since they’re SOOOO involved in thier church, I would have figured they would have celebrated Jesus’s birth. A quick question: I beleive in God and all that stuff, but do any of you guys ever get sceptical? Like sometimes I’m praying at my grandparents house and I’m like: “What if we’re all praying to something in our imaginations?”

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  12. 11- It’s perfectly fine to be sceptical. Plenty of us here are agnostics or athiests. We all have different beliefs. Personally, I believe in a sort of spirit of love and good will god thing. So God, but with my own special way thing.

6- I think it’s depressing that you can find people literally hitting each other over an x box when it’s the last one left in the store. Someone I know actually saw people physically fight over an x box. The holiday season isn’t about that and shouldn’t be about that. It should be about caring about other people and your family and showing that you care by giving them presents. And if you celebrate christmas about the birth of Jesus and the joy that comes from the renewal and hope. And if you celebrate Chanukah, about the renewal of hope that comes from lighting the menorah. For all, it should really be about gathering with family and friends and being kind and nice.

  16. 4- When is that?

7- My sentiments exactly. If people want to buy me shiny stuff, I am all for it.

16- I feel your pain. About video games. Mumsy does the same thing. I only have my darling PC….

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  17. 16- I don’t get the point of games. Someone I know witnessed a fight over an x box though and I just think it’s sad that people would do that.

I would like everyone to understand each other and to try to appreciate each other. That’d be nice.

  18. I’m allowed to have a system/games…if i buy them myself

    i honestly don’t think it’s worth it.

i want a macbook for christmas. i’m obviously not going to get it, but hopefully i’ll get some money so i can buy it in a year or so. And some books. That’ll probably be in gift cards, seeing as i have too many books for other peoples to know.

  19. 11: As a matter of fact, you ARE praying to your imaginations. Religion is man-made. Before christianity there were many other religions. Why should christianity be the right one? And if everyone’s convinced that their religion IS the right one, then there can’t actually be a right one.

  20. 20/21- What? If you mean that thing last month with the question I asked about what would happen if I tried to login, that was hypothetical. And I didn’t want to break Museblog; I wanted Administrator powers, to be able to moderate posts and create threads.

  24. 27- GarageBand is really cool, even though every song you make is almost completely unoriginal because its just a bunch of loops but I love it!

23- I agree with you except for your first sentence. Religion is manmade, but probably out there there is the “right religion” but its probably so obscure that like 2 people practice it. Personally, I think either Wicca or Atheism (I am neither) is the way to go though.

  25. I think all religions are the right ones actually. Or at least the ones that teach people how to be good and all that. Maybe that’s nearly the same thing, but it’s kind of different. Religion isn’t useless and shouldn’t be banned (i think you’ve mentioned that before somewhere…). Sure, there’s no “right religion” but i think there are very few “wrong religions” (i say very few because sometimes people make up sick things and call them religion. Like human sacrifice and whatevs, i don’t think many people do that now but it happened in religions, didn’t it? anyhoo)

That’s ebeth’s rant of the day that should really be in hot topics.

Garageband’s all right…i don’t know, it got kind of boring after the first week or so.

  26. I think that a common misconception about hackers is that they are all out to make trouble. A lot of kids hack just because it’s a challenge, or in order to rebel. It’s like climbing mountains. There are certainly loads of malicious hackers out there, and they give hacking in general a bad name.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  27. A friend told me that hacking is not necesarilly just about computers. Hacking is messing with the system. For example, this one kid got out of all of his homework for months by making a bet with his teacher that he would win this math contest. That’s hacking.

  28. I think its really sad that their are so many christmas themed things involving “santa claus” a commercialized obscure saint person and that there are probably millions of kids who think that santa clause is what christmas is about. I’m Jewish, by the way, and yes, hannukah was a relitively minor holiday that has gotten much more attention because of the americanized gift giving ritual so jewish kids wouldn’t feel left out. Still, things like walmart going back to saying “Merry Christmas” instead of their secular “Happy Holidays” because apparently some people were offended by their attempts to include all religions really sickens me. Same with any store that advertises near the holidays by using a chrismas themes but still says “this holiday season”. If your going to be biased, at least be honest about it. I know, I know, that belongs on HT.

Did you hear that someone got shot while waiting on line for a PS3? Somehow, you’d think that the tents would go. But no, those videogamers are truly a devout group.

  30. I think that religions that accept other religions are the right ones. I call myself atheist, but that’s not really true. I belive there’s something out there, but, whatever it is it will be so much bigger than anything we’ve thought of… oh nevermind.

  31. 33- I agree about the hanukah thing. it was basically a celebration of a military victory with a miracle just happening to be slightly involved until we came to america where it became politically correctized and christmasized. My religious opinions don’t make sense. (I am a jew in case some of you were confused. )

  37. 33. The big deal some people make about “Happy Holidays” vs. “Merry Christmas” gets on my nerves. People try too hard not to offend each other. The vast majority of Americans are Christian, so it is reasonable to put up Christmas decorations and say “Merry Christmas” in December. When people do that they are not trying to exclude Jews or people of other religions. If only putting up Christmas themed decorations is a problem, it is not so much a problem in and of itself as a symptom of a deeper problem with Christian-centrism. Christmas has become very much a secular holiday anyway. I’m not Christian; I’m atheist, but my family celebrates Christmas.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  38. Why do people care about “Happy Holidays” vs. “Merry Christmas”? I can understand non-Christians having a problem with “Merry Christmas”, but “Happy Holidays” is secular and inoffensive and generally an expression of good wishes. What’s wrong with it? Why is this even an issue?

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  39. I don’t see why Christians can’t/don’t celebrate Hanukkah, it’s part of their religion, too. We started celebrating both when my aunt married a Jewish man and we would all get together for Christmas and do all that but my uncle would bring a Manorah (Sp?) and we would celebrate Hanukkah, too. If anything it is a new culture to learn about, but the story of Hanukkah is in the Christian Bible.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  40. 43- You misunderstand. Walmart changed its secular “Happy Holidays” to “Merry Christmas” because of the pressure put on them by some religious groups. If a store decides that it wants to be fair to people of all religions it shouldn’t be pressured to be prejudiced. Thats just really backwards logic.

45- I know. Somehow, even though my best friend who goes to church every sunday and is deeply entrenched in her religion (which makes for some interesting discussions) insists that Christians believe in both the “old testament” and “new testament” , the beliefs in the “new testament” seem to override those in the “old testament” . Basically, as long as you follow the “new testament” its ok to forget everything you were supposed to do according to the “old testament”

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  41. err. I’ve been out a while… I gather that we are discussing Happy Holidays vs Merry Christmas.

I really don’t care which one people use. All I really wish is that people stop getting so annoyed about the difference.

According to my schooling, I’m Christian, but I havn’t been to church in -counts on fingers- 3 or 4 years. So I don’t consider myself to be Christian anymore and therefore can not be offended. Did I make any sence?

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  50. I suspect that “Czar” started out as a German transliteration. In German, “z” is pronounced “ts.” The Russian word is pronounced Tsar, with an odd, almost whistle-like tongue move called palatization at the end of the “r.”

By the way, both the Russian word Tsar/Czar and the German word Kaiser (as in Kaiser Wilhelm of World War 1 fame) come from the Latin word Caesar. But you knew that, didn’t you?

    Z’s are teh uber-kewl.

58-I actually did. I feel proud. Go latin geeks!

Heh. Today in latin carolynn dropped my calky out on the roof because she could and there was a sub so everybody was bored and it was too far away so i actually got to go out on the roof and get it (the window leads right out to a flat roof. ’tis flamablamablous. Bill and i are going to see if we can eat out there come warmer weather. Since they won’t let us eat anywhere else. Grr…) So i did. And then Josh pwned me at connect four through merely psychological means. I had him trapped but then he threw me off with his tricksyness of “thinking out loud” and in my sleep deprived state i forgot that this was josh we were talking about. So he got me to make a stupid move and won. ‘Twas a good game though.

a lot of my friends are jewish so i say holidays now. i don’t really think about it. I don’t consider it a big deal. Wal-mart should do what they want. Actually, Wal-mart should die a horribly painful death. But stores should do what they want.

I don’t think i need to tell you how many snow days we get.

    *sigh*

I like snow though. Snow’s good. It finally snowed up here, but only about a mm. Like seriously. I bet that’d be it if you measured it.

  78. #95: LOL. I just heard today that the superintendent of our skool is Canadian. :s

Gr. There was so much snow last night. My alarm went off at 5:45 – right after I got up, I heard it get really windy outside, and my house started creaking. So I was like “Snow day! Heck yes!” I vaulted out of bed, ran to the phone, and called the bus garage (I have the # memorized)…but there was still skool. So I had to walk to the bus stop in snow deeper than my ankles…in my 3.5 year old converse, which are more hole than shoe…Tch. Freaking superintendent.

  79. It snowed today. And it immediately turned to ice on the road. And I take the city bus to/from school. And today, the bus broke down, so I had to walk home from where it broke down. And it broke down more than TWO MILES from my house. And I had to walk there in 14-degree snowing weather. Ugh.

Could we have a thread for a double issue petition? Everyone, only post there once, to “sign”, and after as many posts as possible, email it to the Muse-peoples who decide this stuff.

    (75) No, it doesn’t snow where I live. But it almost did in NY. That was fun.

Do you guys prefer cold or warm weather?

    Pie 0

  86. To be honest with you, I prefer warmth. Maybe it’s because my birthday’s in the summer.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  87. 104- definately warm weather. I hate to sweat and all in the summer, but I’d rather sweat than freeze and taking care of my cows takes twice as long in the cold, especially since water freezes so easily, so I have to drain the hose every day so the water doesn’t freeze in it and clog it up so I have to wrap it up and take it inside to thaw and carry the water with buckets, and cows drink A LOT of water, but when the tank is low they don’t drink as much and they get dehydrated and the cow I milk gets mastitis (an udder infection) from being dehydrated and the cold, wet environment is hard on her. So I’ve been spending my life (it feels like) dealing with mastitis, making sure the milking cow gets enough food and water, being careful with the hose, etc. etc. etc. IN THE COLD!

I guess that was rather pessimistic, it’s how I feel after a day of taking care of my cows and I know I’ll have to go back out, at best, at about 7:30 and be in by about 9:00 to milk and I am
hoping she’s almost done with the mastitis, she probably feels like a pin cushion with all the shots I’ve given her in about the same place every night, poor cow!

  88. You know what I’d like? A board about diffrent types of holidays around this time of year. Advent, Kwanza etc. I suppose that could go on the culture thread, but it would be nice to have a significant one. I want to rant on how cool my advent calendar is, and learn about other people’s holidays. Does that not bring delight?

If you don’t read muse, can you still post on museblog? I think that would be fine, but confusing for the person who wasn’t subscribed. And, it wouldn’t make much sense. I was just thinking of making- er… asking if my friend wanted to come on. But she doesn’t subrscribe.

  90. 104- on the cold side but not freezing. I prefer having seasons and changes in seasons and those seasons that are somewhat inbetween (fall and spring) in which you do not have to wear a jacket outside but can wear sweaters and pants as well as skirts and t-shirts. I do like winter and summer! especially june because that’s when my writing class is. I love my writing class.

    Pie 0

  91. Yeah, i like the in-between times too. Fall’s my fav season. Partly because it’s my b-day, partly because of the weather-colder than spring, but warmer than winter, and partly because of the trees.

  115. 139 – here is Wiki’s shortened definition.

“Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality test designed to assist a person in identifying some significant personal preferences. Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers developed the Indicator during World War II, and its criteria follow from Carl Jung’s theories in his work Psychological Types.[1]
The Indicator is frequently used in the areas of pedagogy, group dynamics, employee training, leadership training, marriage counseling, and personal development. However, scientific skeptics and academic psychologists have criticized the indicator in research literature, claiming that it “lacks convincing validity data” [2] and could be an example of the Forer effect.[3][4].
The registered trademark rights in the phrase and its abbreviation have been assigned from the publisher of the test, Consulting Psychologists Press Inc., to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Trust.[5]”

I’ve been on the roof of my school’s auditorium. In order to get up there, you go from the light booth to the catwalk on a winding spiral staircase. then you climb a ladder to the roof. It’s awesome up there.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  122. 149- google INFJ. click on the result whose url comes from similar minds. when you do this you should get a description of your type with all the other types on top. You can read your description and read that of another type by clicking on it.

    Pie 0

  123. 145- Brick. But I don’t actually climb the brick. There is a large window on one side with a sill that sticks out a couple of inches, which a can do this weird sort wall-pushoff/jump thing and grab. Then I can pull myself up and grab the edge of the roof (our house doesn’t have gutters in some places.

It is fun, but in grabbing the roof your hand sometimes slips and tears up your skin. It hurts.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  124. I took a test a Similar Minds, and it says i’m an INTJ, and apparantly one of my best careers would be a dictator. But it says i’m “a loner, more interested in intellectual persuits than friendships or family”, and “not much fun” and “socially uncomfortable” and sometimes i feel like that, but sometimes i’m friendly and have lots of fun with my friends and stuff. There should be a E/I category for “sometimes E, sometimes I”, because that’s how i am. the types make it seem like you have to be one or the other, but i cant.
So i decided i’d pick an E and an I that were the most like me, and they were INFJ and ENFJ. surprise?

    Pie 0

  132. The whole catholic thing made me think about how my friend reacted when I told her the story about my catholic filipino nanny baptizing me. She really loved me (she still sends us holiday presents though she hasn’t worked for us since I was maybe six) and didn’t want me to have to be stuck in limbo if I died without being baptized, so she took me to her church oneday when I was probably 1 or 2 and had me baptized. My parents didn’t find out until we were driving past the church and I said something like “they put water on my head” and my mother said “they put water on nana’s head” and I said “No, they put water on my head” My friend was shocked. She couldn’t believe my parents wouldn’t find it insulting. (she’s a very religious episcopalian) I, of course, was shocked that she was shocked. After all, there is nothing in Judaism that forbids baptism and it was an extremely powerful display of love that my nanny actually did this. I know, random.

I’m INF and split equaly between J/P

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  139. Umm… I was reading earlier in this thread, and everyone hates wal-mart. I was just wondering why. I don’t like wal-mart because it’s crowded, and it replaced all the mom-and-pop stores, but actually, at least one good thing came out of it: that rural people don’t have to drive their gas guzzling SUVs to the Butcher, and to the Grocer, and the Mercentile, and the Hardware store, and the milk man doesn’t have to drive all over the country side making his deliverys.
    Just a thought.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  140. 173: that’s true. maybe it saves gasoline because people can go to just the one store… but that doesn’t make up for it’s other faults.
you know what i hate? those stupid commericials that say stuff like “happy holidays from your local walgreens”, like they’re trying to be all nice and politically correct, but then they have very obvious Christmas music playing in the background, or they’re showing video of a happy family taking pics with santa or something. that’s so stupid! they could at least be open about their prejudice.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  141. 176. At least they’re TRYing to make everyone happy. Wouldn’t you be madder if they just went out and said “Merry Christmas”, and didn’t even attempt to be sensative to other people’s views?

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  142. 177 – yes, I suppose so.

The announcements at my school aggravate me as well. They say, “Happy Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa to everyone who celebrates these special Winter Holidays!” They fail to realize that there are many more winter holidays than just those. Grr.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  143. Does anyone here celebrate or know anyone who celebrates Kwanzaa? I don’t, and it strikes me as odd that a big deal is made of mentioning a holiday that nobody celebrates.

    173. Walmart abuses it’s power. As it expands it drives local businesses out. When you spend a dollar at Walmart, it doesn’t make it’s way back into your community. It is big enough to demand any price from it’s suppliers, so the suppliers are hurt and the products on the shelves are of low quality. It is known for exploiting employees by making them work without pay and denying them health insurance. The people who work there earn minimum wage and are not allowed to unionize. Much of this is grossly illegal, but it has political clout and it knows how to use the court system, so it’s poor, uneducated employees can’t compete.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  144. 159- I’m baptised and confirmed catholic but I’m not religious. I associate most with Judaism, not catholicism.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  145. what were we talking about? everybody seems to be of a different topic.
most of the people i know are christmas-ers. i know a few Jewish people. Kwanzaa is supposed to be like “African”, but the few “African” people i know actually celebrate Christmas.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  146. 177: No. Christmas is a common, all encompasing CONSUMERISTIC holiday. It’s not even religious anymore. It actually was never really religious, as the 24/25 december is a pagan tree celeration ritual in honor of winter. Christians just absorbed it to make it easier to convert people. The people who try to stir up this bullcrap about religious sensitivity are the nutjobs from fringe minorities. Who usually wouldn’t be really important, obviously, but what if the president and all of his cabinet are from that fringe minority?

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  147. 182 would be me by the way.

187-yes, mostly it’s consumeristic but there are religious aspects and it stems from a religious holiday.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  148. 188: Yes, tree worship. Pagan stuff. Even Santa Claus is an adaptation of a norse myth in which i big bearded dude flew around in a sleigh pulled by reindeer.

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  149. 189- no, Santa Claus is from the story of Saint Nicolas (Claus is a derivation of the name used for Nicolas in english and Santa, that’s not hard, saint) He knew about a poor family with 3 girls and one wanted to marry, but the family didn’t have the money so this guy climbed on the roof of their house around Christmas and dropped some coins down the chimney and they landed on the hearth and the girl was able to marry. the same thing happend for the next 2 girls… (now is when the story gets a little fuzzy in my memory, somehow the people found out and that started the story of santa Claus (Nicolas, who was named a saint) and presents coming by way of the chimney

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  150. I guess Christmas is a holiday that has absorbed some other traditions and stuff like trees is to show life, even when it is cold and everything else is dead (could be related to the birth of Christ) and giving gifts is from the wise men… it has been changed by many people to be un – christian, but most traditions could be traced back to the origional xmas story

    Pie 0
    Squid 0
  151. 187. I don’t know what it’s like in Switzerland, but in the United States (or what of it I have experienced) it is much more than a fringe minority who think that Christmas is still about religion.

My family is not really too religious…what with my having hockey early every sunday morning and going to public schools, it’s never really been a big part of my life. I don’t really find that any one religion in piticular suits me perfectly. I’m more of a mix of several, I guess.

  154. 195: really? and where exactly is Lapland? Perhaps there’s a Saint Nicholas myth in Norse mythology, but there’s also a myth relating to the christian religion. a lot of the other stuff (reindeer, sleigh, etc) was invented by the christmas consumerist industry to get people to buy stuff. Rudolph was a story written by some guy in the 1950’s.

    Pie 0

  161. Ah, me. My family didn’t listen. So I am now typing this on a new macbook. I didn’t really want a new macbook. I prefer PCs. But my mom would not hear of returning it and donating to unicef instead. She says I need it for my schoolwork. Apperently she got it at huge discount or something.

However, I have covered the little camera hoohah. It scares me.

  163. Actually, saying X-mas is STILL religious. In Greek, Christ is Chi. And Chi is X. You’re still saying Christ, just in another language. It might be better just to say ‘ Mas’. Just letting you know.

  166. I got an awesome shirt, which Anna (Taiwan Hippo Fan) made for me. On the front, it says “Got Pwnage?” and it has Kokopelli holding a sign that says, “Kokopelli for President.” On the back, it has a drawing of a liscense plate that says “Pwt Pwns” on it. (copied off of Robert’s liscence plate). On the sleeves and the bottom (trim ) of the shirt, it has hot pink bunnies and kokopellis. It’s awesome!

  171. 206 ~ Wow, that’s pretty interesting.

My best present was from my grandparents. I am so thrilled – in January (three weeks or so), I’m going to the city to see Rent and Wicked on Broadway! My sister’s going too, and my parents are coming to see Wicked. Apparently, my grandparents’ friend (who once said he was my mom’s sister and therefore my uncle, which he’s not…well, my sister says he did) is friends with Wicked’s director, so we’re getting the director’s seats. Wow.
I also got a denim covered rocking chair think from my other grandmother (she says it’s a combination birthday and Christmas present, since she didn’t do much for my birthday).
My aunt, uncle, and cousins bought me a shirt at the Elephant Cafe in Edinburgh where most of the first Harry Potter Book was written.
Then I got a bunch of smaller stuff. I have so many relatives.

  172. 215 – You get to go see Wicked as a Christmas present?!?!?!?! Wow. The biggest thing I got was a set of portable speakers for my iPod, and they only cost about twenty dollars. I still like it though, and can now annoy my entire family with obnoxious music. *smiles evilly* I also got a pocket knife (rather amazing, I didn’t think that my parents would trust me with knives)

    But yeah, I’m pretty psyched.

  174. 215- You’re so lucky!!! Wicked and Rent are two of the three musicals I want most to see. Them and Spamalot. But Wicked I’ve wanted to see forever, I’ve read the book, heard the soundtrack, it hurts me to hear about you getting really good seats. Not that I’m angry at you for it, but can I stow away in your luggage or something? Please?

  176. 219 ~ You have no idea how much I’d love to stow you away in my bag. The mere prospect of meeting a fellow Muse-enthusiast makes my heart beat quicker. You wouldn’t happen to live in upstate New York?

220 ~ I don’t really understand what they are, despite having Wiki-ed them, but they do sound pretty cool.

Random note ~ Should “fr00dy” be added to the glossary?

  177. 203-DEEEEEEWWWWWD!!!! I would kill for a macbook! (ok, maybe not that extreme, but still) My parentals said i had to buy it myself if i wanted a comp!!! So far i’ve got $165.72. *sigh* it’ll take a while. Anyhoo, Ebeth is very jealous. :D

fr00dy isn’t froody enough to be added to the dictionary. Froody, on the other hand, is the hoopiest word around. Besides flamablamablous of course. And mebbe a few others. But the froods aren’t 1337 in the ko-konspiracy unless they want a fr00dy p13 1n 73h fr00dy f4c3. But we’re all musers here, so you can use it as much as you like. I guess.

Speaking of 1337, i found the geekiest manga yesterday…it skared me so much…*shudders* Yes, they were speaking 1337.

215-Sveeteroonies!!! I want to see wicked this summer. I got the soundtrack for christmas! I could’ve gotten a pocket knife with all sorts of spiffy extra tools from cabela’s but then parentals were like “well, we’ll get it if you really want, but honestly where could you bring it? Not on skool grounds or anything…” and then i was like “um…um…um…on vacation if we don’t go by plane? oh, never mind…”

207-You like windows? Can i dissect your brain when you’re dead? I just want to see what it’s like. :P no offense. your a muser. Musers are teh pwnage, whether they like windows or not.

uncle john, aunt susan, uncle dan, and grandma are here. we’ve been playing lots of schmere. and kings on the corner. and uno. and schmere, of course. did i mention schmere? :D

  181. 223- Not upstate exactly, but kind of between upstate and NYC, near the Hudson… almost. I can’t exactly be specific. And I can’t come if it’s the last weekend in January, that’s All-County. But it’s so close!!! It won’t happen in reality, but I can fantasize, and you can tell me and the rest of the blog about it once you come back.

  182. Sorry (again) for double posting (again).

Is anyone going to the SCA thing tomorrow? Does anyone here know what the SCA is? Has anyone ever gone to any SCA event? Is that vague enough to tell me who here is acquainted with the SCA? Are you confused yet? No? I’ll try harder. That last bit was vintage dialogue from my social studies teacher; replace confused with “Did I hurt your self-esteem?”.

  183. 230 ~ I kind of don’t live completely upstate either. All-County what? Chorus? Band? Orchestra? I guess the name of the county is off-limits. Sigh.

SCA is the Society for Creative Anachronism. Look it up on Wikipedia. Basically it’s a group where a whole bunch of people act and dress like they’re from the middle ages and have parties. We sometimes go to stuff by the branch that meets in Kingston. Is that too much detail, oh great and powerful Administrator?

And two movies, + a new CD +lots of time on the computer to load all my CDs and stuff onto the iPod!

Did you know in WMP11 you can speed up and slow down the music? W00t! Try listening to Flight of The Bumblebe twice as fast… :D
